5 out of 5 stars great way to teach manners.......2007-10-10

I bought this book for my 4 yr old who is an avid reader. She loves this book, and we've read it many times. Together, apart, a lot! I like the idea of using cookies to illustrate what each manner (or emotion) means. The 'retro' illustrations are wonderful as well.

I'm SO pleased I chose this book for my grandchild! This book is meant
to build good character in a child and with optimism! Before I give it to
my grandchild I should read it several times to REMEMBER...! a book for
ALL times, for ALL people especially those engaged in wars.

5 out of 5 stars Cookies - Bite Size Life Lessons.......2007-09-24

Such a clever book - very different from the other kid books out there, and a great way to explain concepts that little kids otherwise have a difficult time grasping. A great gift-book, too!

5 out of 5 stars Tasty Terminology.......2007-07-13

Wondering how to teach your preschooler or young child about putting others first? This book offers a sweet way to gently teach a child the meaning of cooperation, gratitude, honesty and more. Each character trait (positive or negative) is illustrated with a vignette relating to baking, eating and sharing cookies. The pictures are charming and endear children to the attributes. My 3 year old daughter requests this book over and over again and we enjoy the pictures and the humorous, sweet explanations. My favorite shows a little girl reaching over a long table to hand part of her cookie to a tearful kitty cat who has just dropped his cookie on the floor. It reads, "Compassionate means . . .Don't worry, it's okay. You can have part of my cookie." We all have something to learn from this book.

5 out of 5 stars Amazing.......2007-07-04

I purchased this because of a wonderful review. I was not let down. My children, 4 and 6 love it as well.

For readers who seek a straightforward guidebook on learning about the chakra system and how to keep it healthy, this is an excellent resource. Virtue, who is a bestselling author (Messages From Your Angels, Healing With the Angels) and clairvoyant doctor of psychology, identifies the placements and functions of these "energy centers" in the body. She then teaches readers how to keep these chakras clear and clean, leading to greater health and energy.

The chakras themselves are a beautiful progression of shifting colors, starting with the red root chakra at the base of the spine and moving up the body, shade-by-shade, and ending with the royal purple "crown" chakra at the top of the head. Each chakra interacts with a person's issues and concerns in the world. For instance, the root chakra relates to basic survival, such as money, shelter, and material needs, according to Virtue. If a person feels stable in this arena, the "root chakra looks like a brilliant ruby held under a spotlight," she explains. However, if people feel fearful about money or become overly obsessed with their career or possessions, this chakra will be come "dirty" and have a muddy, dark red color.

Virtue offers an extensive assortment of original, guided meditations that are effective in cleaning and clearing all the chakras. The information is well organized and clearly presented with a corresponding CD to help readers integrate the meditations into daily life. She also touches upon other cleaning tools, such as what foods and crystals support the chakra system. Advanced energy workers may find this material basic, but beginners should find it an outstanding primer. --Gail Hudson

Book Description

When you clear away negative energy residues from fear and worry, your natural spiritual power awakens. This innate power allows you to know the future; freely communicate with God and the angels; and heal yourself, others, and the planet. In Chakra Clearing, Doreen Virtue guides you through meditations and visualizations to clear your chakras, which activates your inborn healing and psychic abilities.

Enclosed you’ll also find a meditative CD that complements the material in the book. The CD starts with a morning meditation designed to begin your day with a bright, positive energy frequency and surround you with healing light. The relaxing evening meditation that follows clears away energy that you may have absorbed during the day, and invites angels to enter your dreams and give you divine messages.

“This book and CD will help you understand the functions of the major chakras,
and esoteric methods for clearing them of fear. Your natural state is one of high energy,
intuition, and creativity. You don’t need to add anything to yourself to enjoy
these characteristics—you already own them within yourself. Just like a sculptor needs to
chip away the parts of the statue that aren’t part of the ultimate creation, you only
need to clear away fear to reveal your innate qualities.”— Doreen Virtue

2 out of 5 stars Ok For Very Basic Intro.......2007-10-07

Having listened to this CD I was not impressed at all. Doreens voice is very monotone and the sound track just ok. I became uneasy listening to this meditation after one listen.
May I strongly suggest Colette Baron Reids CD "Journey Through The Chakras".
I have found no chakra CD even remotely as superb.
Colettes voice is angelic and after many weeks of listening I still find her refreshing. The sound track is heavenly and deeply moving.
Her website has many meditations free for listening.
You will NOT be disappointed.
I guarantee that you will be fulfilled.

5 out of 5 stars Chakra Clearing - helpful for meditating .......2007-05-13

Chakra Clearing was recommended to me to help balance my chakras. I knew I needed to meditate more and was told this CD and book would help. It was more amazing than I expected. It put me in a frame of mind to just let all negative thoughts and feelings melt away. The affirmations are powerful and gave me a sense of total well-being.

5 out of 5 stars Great for beginners, not for advanced.......2007-03-07

Before purchasing this book, I knew absolutely nothing about chakras, yet I had heard about them and wanted to learn about them at a very basic level to start with. Having heard of this book, I read other reviews on Amazon, but still had mixed feelings.

So, later on that day, I went to a bookstore and looked at several different books about chakras. Definitely, there were many that were much more in depth than this one, but even though they were basic in a sense, they were still too advanced for what I was looking for. So, I bought the little paperback version of this book without the CD, and to my delight, it was exactly what I was looking for.

This book covers anything basic that you would need to know about chakras. The small book also helps if you do not have a great amount of time to read a longer book but would like to learn about chakras.

Like I said before, this book is very small and basic, so if you are anything much more than a beginner in this field, I would not invest in this book as you'll need something that goes a bit more in depth (sorry, I don't have any specific recommendations). I can certainly see how those who are advanced would see this book as being worth fewer stars than a beginner would.

As for beginners like me, this book was great and has opened my interest to this subject. Once summer rolls around, I'll most likely pick up a longer book on the subject.

5 out of 5 stars It works but it has some strange welcome sideffects.......2007-01-11

If I remember correctly it was about 4 years ago when I found a book about Doreen Virtue in a bookstore that brings only English books. After I read that book I ordered her tape Chakra Clearing. And as the tape advised I started using it morning and night before going to bed. It was unsual for me to stay on the same routine for such a long period of time as I did for that, I kept doing this for about 21 days more or less. I should say also that a few months earlier I had begun attending a group that once a month met to go through meditation to the 5th dimension to the Archangels and Angels, as Mrs Maria Zavou the lady that taught these trips said. So after doing this routine with Doreen's tape and some of the time while doing it, I fell asleep. But it seems that this worked
despite that. And one day I felt that my third eye had opened I was starting to see there were we had been going with Maria Zavou (her site is www.angels.gr) and I saw some very strange and interesting things. And my life was different after that. I had more questions than ever and since then I have done a lot of searching. Of course I was enthusiastic about Doreen Virtue's tape I lent it to other people in my group and expecting the same to happen to them. But they all told me they didn't have any results, what I found after asking them, was that no one had tried as I had tried to do it for such a long period of time...... not even a week and it all started from the narrowminded perception that this could not possibly happen to them. I was different and that is why it happened to me they didn't believe in their selves and they limited themselves. So later when the book with the dvd came I bought it again in order to have the book and the dvd together. And another thing when I tried to talk to them about Doreen Virtue and her books they said they found them very simple but the truth that they are simple but they work.

This is an excellent book to teach values for younger ones. This younger version of The Traveler's Gift is a great book to read to your kids to instill certain values into them. A+!

The people in the book were like me because the kid was nearly my age. The story had some sad parts but a happy ending that made me feel good. I have already recommended the book to my friend at school who had already read The Traveler's Gift.

"Are you as tired as I am of books constantly telling you the same old Brady Bunch, Beaver Cleaver, goody-two-shoes BS about doing your best to understand your parents, doing your homework, making curfew, getting a haircut, dropping that hemline, and blah blah blah?" So inquires Jay McGraw, son of bestselling author Phillip C. McGraw, in the introduction to the younger, hipper version of his father's Life Strategies. This funny, straightforward guide helps teens steer rather than drift in life, dealing honestly with topics from peer pressure to TV addiction with the underlying mantra, "Don't like it? Change it." Divided into the same 10 "Life Laws" that are in his father's book (from "We teach people how to treat us" to "There is power in forgiveness"), McGraw urges teens to take control of their lives at every turn. That said, he doesn't expect any young person to respond to the way his father's book is written, so he translates "People do what works" to "The truth about why you can act so weird" and "Life rewards action" to "What are you waiting for? Get it in gear!" He demands that his readers ask themselves hard questions about missed opportunities, perceptions, self-sabotage, and personal shortcomings so they can figure out what's not working and fix it. Why? So that they can turn dreams into goals--with specific timelines and strategies. There's no doubt that the book has the enthusiastic pounding zeal of an aerobics instructor. But it makes a lot of sense, and if a teen took even a few of these lessons to heart, he or she would be more in control than most adults. (Ages 13 and older)

The transcation went smoothly, the book arrived sooner than expected, and was in perfect condition.

5 out of 5 stars **TEEN READER**BEST BOOK I EVER READ! It is truely AMAZING.......2006-05-13

I have to say reading the comment above made me pretty sad. This book was not sending mixed messages and it is definately NOT telling you to be popular and that your parents will only love you more if you get good grades. This book is simply about helping yourself become more of what you want and getting more out of the life you were delt with. It makes me so sad to hear bad things about this book becuase that review probably stopped someone from buying this amazing book.

This book helped me through the toughest times in my life, it works with you and helps you see what is behind the "my life is perfect" mask that so many teens have. Amazing book, it changed who I am and how I act. For instance, in one chapter it talks about how in arguments if you just talk even if someone is yelling at you, you are not being passive, but in turn arguments turn into talks a lot more often. So as a test i followed this advice becuase i had just moved in with a step-sister my own age and we were not getting along very well. Now, that we stopped fighting (and i give all credit to this book) we are able to talk about what is bothering us and not fight. We couldnt be closer now. And that is exactally the reason i would recommend this book to ANYONE, it helps with topics like that without barking orders or telling you what you need to do or you suck as was stated above. This is an EXCELLENT book. BEST BOOK I EVER READ!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars shut up!.......2005-11-04

well.. of course a person like me would have to read what people though before i wrote what i thought! i think that the people that don't like this book need help! why in the world would rich people not have problems!! and there is way more to these people than you think!! just because some of you are shallow and can't use your imagination and have fun with some of the jokes he throws at you doesn't mean you need to get mad!! grow up! there are more people who know that that book was good and i happen to believe strongly in what he wrote!! yes i have money but no i don't have the perfect life promise!! so just because a person has money does not make them unknowledgeable about real life! so think to yourself again maybe you just need to read between the lines or maybe your life was to perfect but i know that this really helped me and i am doing some of the things that he said and it has helped me alot through everything i have been through!!

4 out of 5 stars What About Multi-Talented Teens?.......2005-07-07

It is so great that someone who has grown up with Dr. Phil for a father feels ready to share wisdom from his perspective with teens like himself. I found it much more effective than most books written by adults (who were teens in such different times!) There's one issue teens struggle with, however, that didn't get the attention it deserved: what to do when you love lots of different things but your guidance counselor and parents say you'll eventually have to pick just one. ...

5 out of 5 stars Every teen needs friends like Jay!.......2005-06-24

Jay does a great job of explaining to teens the importance of "playing the game" wisely. His book carries an important message I had tried to communicate for years--you get much more of what you want when you keep your parents happy too!

My son wasn't interested in reading the book but reading it myself gave more than ample assistance in relating to my son. There were many times I was able to let slip into everyday conversation a little tidbit of Jay's wisdom without lecturing or preaching. Jay does this very thing in his book, which would have appealed to my son had he read it; Jay doesn't come across as this perfect person with all the answers, but as humble and real.

Highly recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars An excellent series--get them all!.......2006-01-11

I would highly recommend any of the books in this series by Cheri Meiners. This book has been especially helpful as my 5-year-old sometimes encounters children who *don't* share well or want to take turns. These books caught my eye because the writing level is just right for pre-K and kindergarten children. Truthful without being preachy or overly wordy, the series shows children and family members from many different ethnic groups in the colorful illustrations, and each book addresses issues which are developmentally critical to this particular age group: sharing, taking turns, being afraid, listening, respecting others, helping out at home, etc. These books have given us a starting point to discuss problems at school or interacting with others, and have helped my son to have more empathy for his peers....I am hopeful that this quality will serve him well as he continues on to kindergarten and elementary school. It is exciting to hear him use ideas from this series to problem solve.

It's hard to be good. Especially if you don't really know what "being good" means. Munro Leaf, beloved author of The Story of Ferdinand, decided to try his hand at defining good behavior in his 1946 classic How to Behave and Why. The two biggest questions to ask ourselves in life, he says, are "Are most of the people I know glad that I am here?" and "Am I glad that I am here, myself?" If you want to make good friends and keep them, he says, "You have to be HONEST. You have to be FAIR. You have to be STRONG and You have to be WISE." This strangely charming life primer, illustrated with endearing stick figures, goes on to explain why you have to be honest--how handy it is to be trusted, for instance, when you need to borrow money. And if you lie too much, "We can't believe ourselves or anyone else, because we don't really know what the truth is any more than a penguin and that is a stupid way to live." Specific reasons for not being a "lazy lump" or a liar or a cheat are outlined matter-of-factly, as are basic lessons in how to be well and strong. Originally published for the very young (it has an early-reader format with big type and pictures), Leaf's how-to-be-good guidebook will probably be shared among adults as a back-to-basics inspirational book with the same crossover appeal as Sandol Stoddard Warburg's I Like You. A satisfying reflection of a time when what was right and wrong seemed more black and white. (All ages) --Karin Snelson

Book Description

"No matter where you are or who you are, there are four main things that you have to do if you want to make good friends and keep them.

You have to be HONEST
You have to be FAIR
You have to be STRONG
and you have to be WISE
And there is no good in trying to fool yourself. All that isn't so easy."

In a time when all the rules for raising children have been redefined dozens of times, here is a book for bewildered parents from a simpler time when we all agreed on what was right and what was wrong. First published in 1946, Munro Leaf's How To Behave And Why gives touchingly sincere yet gently funny lessons in Honesty, Fairness, Strength, and Wisdom. Originally intended for the very young, but with meaning for us all, How To Behave and Why is a true classic, charmingly illustrated with childlike drawings, and with a timeless message. It is a sure guide for teaching children (and adults) how to behave.

4 out of 5 stars It's good, but for a little bit older kids.......2007-08-08

It's a good book but since the drawings are all done in black/white/red it doesn't capture little ones attentions very long. It's also a bit wordy so for toddlers and preschoolers I would pass.

4 out of 5 stars Great read for the whole family.......2007-06-27

Ordered this to address the white lies that my kids have been telling. We have been concerned that the behavior might escalate. Both my husband and I read the book first. It was a good refresher for us as to the "talking" points for appropriate and trustful behavior. The kids read it and it was right on their level (they are 7 band 10). We had positive discussions and I think it is something we can keep referring back to as the need arises--for a few years anyway.

4 out of 5 stars Cute book.......2007-04-11

Cute book, but does not hold the interest of the little ones. Timeless messages about being polite. Hopefully, my 4 and 6 year old girls will be more interested as they get older.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent learning tool.......2007-01-04

I love this book! My grandmother had it when I was a child, and I remembered the pictures. I am a Foster Parent, and have found that with some children this book is much loved and a good tool for learning manners, and acceptable behavior. One in particular found these books by Munro Leaf to be a favorite for bedtime stories along with a review of the day.

5 out of 5 stars How to Behave and Why.......2006-08-30

(What happened to the earlier review that I was writing!)

AS I SAID: I first bought this book over 40 years ago for my own children. Mr. Munro Leaf's gentle style of writing sends a positive message of cooperation with others that I'd like my grand daughter to receive.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Collection of Stories and Poems.......2007-04-21

My children and I just adore this book. What a lovely collection of stories all heavily demonstrating solid virtues that are Biblically rooted, not worldly. My children, ages 5 and 4, request that several stories be read time and time again. This book will grow with us through the years; they are no where near growing out of it.

Bennett compiles the stories and poems in 4 categories: courage/perseverance, responsibility/work/self-discipline, compassion/faith, and honesty/loyalty/friendship. There is a nice selection in each category of 1 paged poems, to several paged stories. There is a solid virtue to be taken from every single work.

I recommend this book highly. Fill those little minds with things that are good, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable. Also recommended by the same author are The Children's Book of Faith and The Children's Book of Heroes. Both also have wonderful collections and wonderful illustrations.

5 out of 5 stars wonderful.......2005-11-17

I had this book when I was a little kid. I honestly think that by reading it, it changed how I viewed things as a child. Partially because of this book, when I was little I had strong feelings about responsiblity, kindness, courage, perserverance, and many of the other subjects illustrated in The Children's Book of Virtues. I loved reading it and the stories affected me greatly.

5 out of 5 stars It's About The Message, Not The Messenger.......2005-09-17

These tales were collected from virtually every corner of the globe and some go far back into the reaches of antiquity. Bennett and his collaborators did a fine job of finding stories of universal, fairly non-controversial appeal that we can all cite without worrying about the inherent differences in religion or politics that might otherwise divide us. Segregated according to the principles being celebrated (Honesty, Courage, etc.) these fables and true life stories demonstrate virtues of conduct far too often left unstressed in our morally-undermined society.

4 out of 5 stars GOOD CHILDREN'S BOOK AND STORIES.......2005-09-14

I purchased this book and a few others in the series for my 4 ½ year old. My son is very intelligent for his age, yet some of the stories were a bit long and beyond his attention span and/or understanding. However, I am not disappointment as I am confident that in time, all the stories will be appropriate. I would recommend this book!

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous moral stories...the best compilation I've found so far..........2005-09-08

As a homeschool mother I am always looking for great stories for my almost 7 yo and my 2.5 yo. This book is part of the curriculum for Sonlight and it is fabulous. My daughter's favorite is about two brothers, one who doesn't let his "please" out of his mouth so the "please" jumps into the other brothers' mouth (which makes him say all his "pleases" twice). Eventually though, the "please-less" mouth wants his please back and his "please" is thrilled to be at home and allowed to get some fresh air. The stories are grouped by moral or attribute (compassion, courage, etc.). Both male and female main characters throughout the stories and the poems makes this book appropriate for both boys and girls. I highly, highly recommend this book, no qualms about it.

5 out of 5 stars review by amanda g.......2006-12-13

Scared for your life in the midst of a civil war. Then put into a Sudanese refugee camp, disconnected from your father but left with your terrified mother and siblings. After a while, you are reunited with your father, and your entire family is together. Then in America, where you must start over in an alien place, where you get most of your possessions from dumpsters. This was the childhood experience that Mawi Asgedom underwent.
The book "Of Beetles & Angels" shows the extraordinary experiences throughout Mawi Asgedom's young life, which led him to America and to graduate from Harvard University. His amazing story shows the hardships, as well as the joyful occasions, as he discovers American culture and starts an American life. I thoroughly enjoyed his book and believe that I caught a glimpse at just how hard his childhood was.
The chapters within the book are separated into different stories and times of Mawi's life. This way, the reader truly gets to see how wonderful and cruel our country can be to those who are starting over in a new place, and how Mawi and his family start in a new and foreign place. The book also shows Mawi's experiences viewing racism, biased brutality, and what it is like to be noticeably different from most others around you. " Most of our classmates treated us nicely, others ignored us, and the rest -- well, we could only wish that they would ignore us. We may not have understood their words, but we always understood the meaning behind their laughter. `African boodie-scratcher! Scratch that boodie!' `Black donkey! You're so ugly!' `Why don't you go back to Africa where you came from?' We were just two, and they were often many. But they had grown up in a wealthy American suburb, and we had grown up in a Sudanese refugee camp. We were accustomed to fighting almost daily, using sticks, stones, wood chips, and whatever else we could get our hands on. So it was usually no contest, especially when the two of us double-teamed them, as we had done so many times in Sudan. The cruelty of brutal beatings and the name calling left Mawi and his older brother scared and unsure about their new found home America.
Mawi Asgedom's parents dreamed that their children would do well in school. The primary values that they taught their kids were that education was most important, knowledge was power, and that if all of the children within their family studied hard, they could earn scholarships and become smart and powerful leaders within their new country. Mawi kept his parents' values close and fulfilled them all. "I graduated from Harvard one year ago and have since thought much about my parents' dream. By earning my scholarship and graduating, I have fulfilled it. But along the way, I have found greater value in other dreams. And while Harvard University taught me well, my true education has come from less-likely sources. As I look back to the angels, the Charlenes and the Beth Raneys; as I look back to God's servants, dressed as beggrs and as beetles; as I look back to my inspirations, to the Mamas and Tewoldes, I see true guidance staring back at me. True power comes from focusing on what we can give, not what we can take." Mawi learned so much throughout his life and not only made his parents' dreams come true, but also made his own dreams come true.
This book, with all of its extraordinary detail and description, probably cannot entirely summarize all of the struggles, hardships, and rewards Mawi and his family endured from their journey to America and once in America. However, throughout the pages and dialogue of the story "Of Beetles & Angels", the book does an exceptional job of showing how unique Mawi Asgedom's life was as a child. I absolutely recommend this book.

4 out of 5 stars eye opening.......2006-07-11

Beginning in 2001 I worked with two refugee families from Liberia. I wish I had read this book first, because it would have helped me to understand better the sorts of things these families might have experienced before they arrived in our country. While experiences of war, persecution and homelessness vary among people arriving in the USA, the feeling of confusion (even when you speak English, like 'my' families did) and dependence mixed with utter relief of finally getting here seem to be common among all. "My" families knew basic things, but our housing, food and school systems were totally overwhelming even for these educated people. And the police, which we're taught to depend upon, strike fear into every refugee I've ever met. Most of them have had bad experiences with police.
So when I read this book I could relate to some things, I cried over others, and I put others in the back of my mind to remember for when I'm working again with refugee immigrants, especially in these days of heated debates about immigrants.
Personally I think this book should be a must-read in every high school curriculum and for every teacher, not only because it's such a compelling story, but it helps us to see others through another lens and it is ultimately a story of hope.
From a strictly literature point of view there are better books out there, but this one tugs at the heart. And it's also a fast read if you want it to be.

5 out of 5 stars An Inspiring Memoir of the American Dream .......2005-10-23

Of Beetles and Angles is the remarkable non-fiction account of Mawi Asgedom's jouney as an African war refugee to America and the obstacles that he and his family had to overcome. In his own words he describes his inspiring transformation into a man with traditional values and principles mixed in with the demands of everyday life in a new society. Influenced by his older brother and father, Mawi sets out to experience the American dream and more importantly, look upon each and every person as angels sent to test the will of our hearts.

5 out of 5 stars Heart warming and inspiring.......2005-08-11

I won't take a lot of space stating what the book is about. Just get it and read it, everyone from middle school through adults. You'll be glad you did.

5 out of 5 stars Miracles in many forms.......2005-01-24

This book told me one thing: everyone can be an angel. No matter in what form, that thing could be an angel.
From this story, a boy named Mawi was a refugee. His homeland had been involved in a war. His father decided the family would flee to Amerikha, as they called it. It was a place of peace, which was something that didnt exist in Eritrea, their homeland.
Many perils were made in America. Mawi needed to go to school, with his brothers and sister. He survived through prejudice and violence at school. His dream was to be welcomed with a scholarship into a special university. He worked very hard to achieve his goal.
How did it happen? Just read the book and find out!

As with all the other Chicken Soup For The Soul books I've read, this one was thoroughly enjoyed by my daughter. Children should read more, more and many more real life stories like this. It shows them that there are so many things that they have to be gratefull for.

The chicken soup for the preteen soul

Chicken soup for the preteen soul is great book for teenage girls and boys to read if they

Like short story's about teens and there life. This book has a lot of stories to tell you, if

It's about love; friendship, care, or family then this would be the book for you. There are

A couple of story's I like in this book but one of my favorites is called My problem. Its

About an eleven year old boy who has trouble eating to much and becomes over weight

And the kids at his school make fun of him for example they call him fat so or four by

Four until one day he got into a program called tops witch changed his whole life. There

Are a lot more different stories by different authors and most of them are your age. So if

You read this book I promise you, you will love this book just give it a try. When I read

This book I felt like if some of the story's where telling part of my life and if I was the

One going through every thing that was happening. At first I thought this book would be

Boring because of the way it looked I thought It would maybe about recipes about how to

Make soup but when I read it, it turned out to be a great book with a lot of story's you

Maybe can relate to. While you are reading and stories are getting better the book finishes

But its okay I understand you would want to read more but all you have to read is the

next Part of the book called chicken soup for the teenage soul just because its says

Teenage soul doesn't mean it will be just for teenagers because you can read it to.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Book!!!.......2007-01-07

Full of heart warming stories.I could not put it down! Some I favored stories more than others. I strongly recommend this book 4 anyone!!!

5 out of 5 stars Sad and good at the same time!.......2006-11-28

This was a good book because most of the stories were from kids my age (11). Some stories were really funny! Espically the crushes! But there were a few really sad ones where I almost cried out loud. In school even! One was when a girl's mother dies and she actually sees her getting hit by a car! i thought about how i would feel if my mom died and i saw her getting hit. That one almost made me cry! Really, it did!
And another one was when a girl's best best friend dies! Of cancer! That one was really sad! I almost cried when i read that one too because of all the stuff that had happened to this girl before she met her friend. IT was sad because i thought of my friends and how sad I would be if my best friend, Hannah, died. It was said!

Trust me, you'll laugh and you'll cry, but this book was really REALLY GREAT!
