Waking The Tiger Within teaches the mind-set needed to survive any attack. Even people with years of experience in various forms of self-defense have been killed when attacked, because they lacked the all-important mental conditioning for combat that Waking The Tiger Within so clearly teaches.Customer Reviews:
A must read for everyone!.......2003-02-27
This is not a book for the faint of heart or weak of stomach. Scott goes right for the jugular, and pulls no punches with the techniques shown. His style is very much ýin your faceý and up close and personal. As he puts it ýyou must become your assailantýs worst nightmare ý if you are to surviveý
As a full time self defense trainer and part time law enforcement officer, I am constantly amazed by recommendations made by well-intentioned people that you should ýgive in ý to the attacker and just do whatever he says. My experience and research has shown that the individuals who are mentally aware, properly trained and are willing to fight back are the survivors. This book clearly shows how to do all three.
The good news is that statistics show that the people that are the most prepared to defend themselves are the most likely not to get attacked. Although most attackers are dumb, they are not stupid. Just as the tiger looks for the weakest animal in the herd, the predator looks for signs of weakness when choosing a victim. Just the mere act of preparing yourself may be enough to keep you safe.
Waking the Tiger Within is easy to follow and understand and should be considered a must-read for anyone interested in defending themselves and their loved ones from violent attacks.
A MUST READ BOOK FOR ALL!.......2002-12-28
Waking the Tiger Within by Scott Flint: A MUST Read!.......2002-04-01
Got kids or grandchildren? Worried about bullies? His chapters on these subjects are excellent.
Road Rage? Car-Jacking? (What would YOU do, if locked in the trunk of your car by an assailant?)
Many of the areas Scott writes about are covered in the seminars I present, but this book opens up a host of new, and surprisingly simple, techniques that almost anyone, at any age, in any state of health, can grasp and use.
Chapter One begins with these words: "No one ever has the right to hurt you." When you have finished reading and following the simple advice presented in these pages, you will be a long way toward the realization of that goal.
Buy this book for yourself and give copies to those you love.

An absolute MUST!!!.......2003-08-22
MSSG is a plain-speaking book written with honesty and wit. It deals with pretty much any problem adolescents may face, not only in school, but in life: the harder work load in MS, acne, dating, drugs, handling bullies, sexual situations, divorce and much more. Let's face it. Kids don't always want to talk to their parents, even (maybe especially?) about important things. They ask their friends for advice. Now they have this book.
If you think you might benefit from this book, you WILL!!!

Alfred Caldwell: The Life and Work of a Prairie School Landscape Architect
Manufacturer: The Johns Hopkins University Press ProductGroup: Book Binding: Hardcover Similar Items:
ASIN: 0801855519 |
Book Description
"Compared with the land, everything else is illusion. The cities are the startled thoughts of sleep." -- Alfred Caldwell
Alfred Caldwell is one of the twentieth century's pre-eminent landscape designers. Called a "genius"by Jens Jensen, he corresponded with Frank Lloyd Wright and visited him at Taliesin in Wisconsin. He collaborated regularly with German city planner Ludwig Hilberseimer and worked behind the scenes with Craig Ellwood in California on projects that brought Ellwood prominence. Caldwell taught architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology at Mies van der Rohe's invitation and at the University of Southern California, earning a reputation at both institutions as the most demanding and inspiring professor on the faculty. Yet this radical thinker consistently attacked academic peers and the parks and roads they designed, cried out against the loss of natural prairie lands to unchecked urban expansion, often began lectures with provocative discussions of the atom bomb, and even asserted that capitalism would likely collapse and be replaced by a more just communist economic system.
In Alfred Caldwell, Dennis Domer has collected essays, poetry, drawings, autobiographical writings, and correspondence of this enigmatic figure who has guided and inspired a generation of landscape designers and architects. Caldwell's writings -- on topics ranging from landscape design to the role of technology in the twentieth century to the history of architecture -- offer proof of the creative genius of this passionate individual. He attacked the ideas behind urban renewal and promoted instead an organic, decentralized city that carefully exploited the environmental advantages of placing polluting industries downwind, gave residents ready access to healthful sunlight, separated traffic from pedestrians with green space, made walking to work possible, and formed neighborhoods into new settlement units.
Dennis Domer's introduction provides more than just a complete chronology of Alfred Caldwell's life. Through his exhaustive use of varied sources as well as taped interviews and letters, Domer offers an unprecedented study of Alfred Caldwell that establishes irrefutably his place beside the other giants of twentieth-century landscape design.

Science and Technology in Medicine: An Illustrated Account Based on Ninety-Nine Landmark Publications from Five Centuries

ASIN: 0387278745 |
Book Description
The history and evolution of the fields of science and medicine are symbiotically linked and thus are mutually dependent. Discoveries in one domain have allowed for progress in the other, and it is nearly impossible to study one area in isolation. The influence of science and technologic discoveries on medicine has profoundly impacted the way physicians practice and has resulted in an extended life expectancy and quality of life that our ancestors never dreamed possible. Science and Technology in Medicine is a collection of 99 essays based on landmark publications that have appeared in the medical literature over the past 500 years. Each essay includes a summary of the article or chapter; text and images reproduced directly from the original source; a short biography of the author(s); and a discussion about the significance of the discovery and its subsequent influence on later developments. Original material by the likes of Dürer, Bernoulli, Doppler, Pasteur, Trendelenburg, Curie and Röntgen offers readers a rare glimpse at publications housed in archives around the world, beautifully reproduced in one fascinating volume.

environmental sociologist looks at this book.......2004-05-24
If you want to know more about your body type before you begin a nutritional program, I suggest the following books instead. Most of the information presently known is from the sympathetic system side and very little is known about the autonomic, though these recommendations can protect you from such false suggestions of a 'common good program' for all people.
Know thyself, before you make a nutritional plan. With the following books you can:
Day, Phillip. 2001. Health Wars. Kent, England: Credence Publications.
Wiley, Rudolf A, Ph.D. 1989. Biobalance: The Acid/Alkaline Solution to the Food-Mood-Health Puzzle. M.D. Foreword by Howard E. Hagglund. Hurricane, Utah: Essential Science Publications.
Kristall, Harold J, D. D. S, and James M Haig, N.C. 2002. The Nutrition Solution: A Guide to Your Metabolic Type. M.D. Foreword by John R. Lee. Berkeley, California: North Atlantic Books.
Kliment, Felicia Drury. 2002. The Acid Alkaline Balance Diet: An Innovative Program for Ridding Your Body of Acidic Wastes. Chicago, Illinois: Contemporary Books.
Solid Facts- nothing but the truth.......2004-04-01
If you want to see it some other way you can go ahead and fool yourself by ignoring the facts written here. Many of these things are not even a debate. They are simply the truth.
Reading this made me realize why so many doctors and people with a solid education in this field that I know laugh at all of the stupid rip off ads and all the money wasted.
A fact:More money is wasted on the BS, lies, and scams this book tells about than spent on proven health care by professionals. Health care that does something more than empty your wallet.
Shameful.......2003-06-02
