Good idea, but overpromissing.......2007-09-24
There is one thing that I absolutely agree with Ann Luise - the amount of chemicals that we are exposed to in our daily lives is overwhelming. I think that cleansing our bodies from them ("unchemicalizing ourselves") from time to time is a very good idea.
There are several other authors that pointed to this problem in the past. There are also a few who suggested better or worse cleansing solutions. One author dealing extensively with this topic in her few books is Hulda Clark. Gittleman's Detox Diet is only a good addition to the anthology. I do, however, have a problem with the "eight pounds weight loss in a day" idea. Isn't this just a little over-promising?
My favorite author dealing with this topic is Mikhail Tombak who offers total body cleansing solutions (starting with the liver, via kidney, intestines, bones and joints, and ending with blood) in one of the chapters of his book "Can We Live 150 Year?" At the same time Mr. Tombak does not promise losing weight overnight...
More about detox , than weight loss.......2007-07-13
I'm a big of Ann Gittleman. I have all her Fat Flush books. I think that the information they provide is invaluable. I learned a lot from reading her books. I've had success with this book and the Fat Flush Plan. To be honest, I did not lose the weight that I expected to lose from this detox diet. As one reviewer points out, it takes a lot of other factors to help you lose weight. However, the detoxification that I got was worth more than the extra pounds of weight loss. My actual weight loss came from Fat Flush. But, Fast Track helped to make my liver and colon much healthier. On this detox diet, sometimes it was hard for me to find a food within each of her categories that I liked, but I did my best. I liked the Miracle Juice, and it was easy to prepare. I really didn't think it was that bad. The detox day didn't affect me in any adverse way. I ate the next day, but I wasn't ravenous. To anyone who is thinking about purchasing this book, just know in advance that this book will help you in many ways, but it is a very tough 11 days. Just make sure that you're up to it before you begin. Also know that because it says that you COULD lose up to 8 pounds doesn't mean that you will. All I can tell you is that I enjoyed this book, and I will use it again to detox. Five stars for detoxification!
Not really "One-day" as it claims.......2007-04-25
Having lived in Germany I was already familiar with the idea of quick fasts and fasting groups to cleanse the body and periodically offset weight gain. I haven't tried this one because it seemed pretty complicated and requiring lots of effort, planning and the purchase of special stuff like supplements. I was also pretty put off when I read that there was a highly structured 7-day "prequel" to the detox. One-day huh?
Suprise eating health makes you feel better..........2007-03-29
Long term weight\fitness changes require long term effort.
That being said nothing like a jumpstart, new book, fad diet to get you going.
Detox and weight loss.......2007-03-25
Outlines a great program that works for detoxifying your body and for weight loss that still leaves you full of energy

Not a Lot of Substance.......2007-09-25
I found this to be a book with very generic, run of the mill, get rich quick advice with very few practical tips. Personally, I prefer books that are more research oriented and fact based rather than just motivational hype and fluff as this one was.
I was sorry I spent the money on this book and sold it at a local used book store right after reading throught it. Instead of this book I would recommend reading The Millionaire Next Door, The Millionaire Mind, Millionaire Women Next Door, Getting Rich in America, and Eight Steps to Seven Figures.
not enough info.......2007-08-11
More of a mathmatical evaluation of how your investments need to do to become a millionaire. Not enough concrete information. This is the first few chapters...the rest is all about people who havedone it successfully - all of which are workaholics who give up a lot. Pointing that there is a high price to pay.
Good for them, not for me.
Vague, Vague, Vague! It was a frustrating experience to read........2007-06-24
This book was written like a well constructed sales pitch from a copywriter. First the book tells you that you can't become rich as an employee and goes into to detail to explain this. OK, so most people already believe that to be true. Then, the largest chunk of the book goes on to describe how 8 people have achieved their riches. Lastly, the book says that it is a must that Baby Boomers follow the 7Yto7F plan... and leaves you hanging and leads you to subscribing to an e-zine newsletter! Which, then asks you to enrol in more 'training' on how to become wealthy. Very frustrating as I was hoping for a 7 year plan that didn't ask me to throw all my achievements in life into an incinerator and go into business for myself and risk it all. By the way, I am an employee, and I do have a 7 figure in 7 year plan. It isn't easy, but it isn't as risky, either.
CD's did not work - with two different shipments.......2007-05-13
The first shipment had defective CD's that cut out in the second CD. We exchanged it and had the same problem with the second shipment. We tried several different CD players. Amazon said they will not exchange it again because it is due to a problem on a greater scale than they thought. Michael should correct this problem and send out new CD's ASAP to keep his fan base.
Only useful for aspiring copywriters.......2007-03-08
Being the successful copywriter/direct-marketer that he is, Mr. Masterson knew what he was doing when he chose the title for this book. It caught my eye in the library, but it was ultimately a disappointing read. As some of the other reviewers have remarked, this book is wonderful if you have ambitions of becoming a self-employed copywriter; he even goes so far as to recommend specific books and self-help tutorials to help you down that path to riches. But if you don't want to make your millions in copywriting, I'd recommend skipping this book.
That said, I give it two stars for the clear writing and inspirational pep talk in the first section. Also, if you are near retirement age and have almost no savings, this plan is probably as good as any if you're willing to consider copywriting in some form and you're certain you'd be successful.
Book Description
Fast Track to MDX (for SQL Server 2000) Second Edition Mark Whitehorn, Robert Zare and Mosha Pasumansky
OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) is the most powerful Business Intelligence tool currently available and Microsoft's Analysis Manager makes OLAP cubes incredibly easy to build and deploy. However the real power of OLAP lies in its ability to help you solve real-life business problems; to release that power you need to use the language that controls the cubes and allows them to be queried. That language is MDX (Multi Dimensional eXpressions).
Fast Track to MDX gives you all the necessary background to let you write useful, powerful MDX expressions and introduces the most frequently used MDX functions and constructs. No prior knowledge is assumed and examples are used throughout the book to rapidly develop your MDX skills to the point where you can solve real business problems.
Mark Whitehorn, co-author of the best-selling Inside Relational Databases, is renowned for his knowledge of database systems and the lucidity of his writing. Robert Zare is a Program Manager for Analysis Services at Microsoft: his inspiring talks on MDX sowed the seeds from which this book grew. Mosha Pasumansky was one of the authors of the OLEDB for OLAP specification that defined the MDX language and later he was the developer in charge of the first implementation of MDX in the Microsoft OLAP Services 7.0 product. He is currently the development lead of the Analysis Services engine team.
Second Edition – It was the clarity, precision and sheer readability of the first edition that made it a best-seller. With that firmly in mind the authors have left the original 18 chapters intact (apart from minor updates); meaning that the second edition remains the best introduction to MDX for SQL Server 2000 that is available. What they have done is to add three brand new chapters. These introduce the topic of recursion in MDX, walk the reader through the process of creating recursive expressions and finally demonstrate how recursion can be used to effectively solve a series of business problems.
Forward by Amir Netz, Product Unit Manager, SQL Server – Analysis Services at Microsoft.
A CD containing examples from within the book, and a time-limited version of ProClarity, is included.

Lot of fluff, Uneven, Unfocused.......2007-09-21
I was already quite familiar with SQL and I bought this book to understand what MDX was about. I was sorely disappointed.
If you are suspicious of books that are full of half a page screen shots of navigating menus and changing settings, your suspicions would be well-founded in this case. I daresay 40% of the book consists of screen shots most of which could easily have been replaced by single sentence descriptions (or half sentence ones.)
If you raise your eyebrows seeing a 'chapter' titled "Server side color coding" whose whole *eight* pages collapse to four when excluding screen shots, then this book is not for you. No wonder that, despite being close to three hundred pages long, the book is an extremely quick read.
There's a lot of fluff, like frequent quotes (yes, in italics, separated from the text with whitespace) from the authors (I guess, because they are rarely attributed), spread around like pearls of wisdom pointing out the blinding obvious. I did not know that quoting from yourself (unless you are Einstein) was good writing. Actually, why not remove the quotes and just get on with?
There is very little formal introduction to concepts, for example, the syntax of MDX queries is never discussed. I guess you are supposed to derive it from looking at examples. Needless to say, the book is as far from comprehensive as it is humanly possible.
All in all, I did not find this book a useful introduction to MDX. I will have to find a better book for that.
Does not support SQL Server 2005.......2007-09-05
Only giving it 3 stars because it's outdated. Did not notice before I bought that it covers SQL Server 2000 only. For a 2nd edition published in 2006, assumed it would cover SSAS 2005.
Overall, the approach is good, with a clear explanation of the basics and building useful elements by starting simple and incrementally adding.
But if you have 2005, there are serious drawbacks. The samples cannot be loaded into 2005. And, among other things, the syntax for time dimensions is incorrect. Apparently hierarchy names did not have to be specified in 2000, but do in 2005.
If you're aware of lack of 2005 support, it still might be worth it. At least you'll do less head scratching than I did.
Two Thumbs Up.......2007-06-27
I highly recommend this book. I've been using the MDX generated from Proclarity without really understanding it. Now it's making sense. I couldn't have taught myself, reading a function reference, the concepts the authors makes real.
I think this is the most pleasant read I've ever had with a technical book. At the same time, I've already solved a couple of real world problems from what I've learned in the text.
I usually don't feel compelled to submit a review, but I want to recommend this book. I'm an experienced database application developer, but I'm new to Analysis Services and MDX. If you match that profile, you'll benefit from this book.
It's written for AS 2000. I wish it were written for 2005, but it I don't think it makes that much difference.
Fast Track to MDX.......2007-05-12
Very good learning tool. The only problem that I has was the examples were for a previous release of SQL Server. I am on 2005 and examples will not load into 2005. The 2005 book was not released yet. Went to the web and found compatible examples.
Easy read.......2007-03-19
This book was a much easier read and is fairly easy to much easier to follow vs. MDX Solutions (my first purchase). I am a novice at MDX or any other code for that matter, for beginnners this is a good book to start with.

Summary with no meat.......2006-08-06
The book is simply a summary outline of the material for the CFP test, which can easily be obtained on the Board's website. Without sufficient detail, I can not imagine how it could be helpful.

You get what you pay for..........2006-03-19
Just took the CFP exam yesterday. I'm a quick study, have been in the industry a while, am a CLU/ChFC, so I hoped I could find a condensed study guide that would serve to refresh my memory and allow me to skate through. I'm CHEAP too, so I was hoping I could save some $$$ by not enrolling in a review course.
Fortunate for me, a buddy that passed the exam last year and paid $1,200 for a BISYS review course heard I was taking the test and loaned me HIS books (all 2500 pages) as a supplement to this study guide. Those materials SAVED MY HIDE!!! I would have failed if I relied on this book. The tax data is all outdated and critical to the exam. Even if it were updated, there is still a HUGE amount of material missing that you need to know. Didn't even work for me as an outline. This is a hard test, so don't fool yourself like I did.
Great book!.......2006-03-10
I'm finding this book very useful and i'm happy that it was available at a much cheaper price. Thanks.
Please Don't Waste Your Money Like I Did !!!!!!!.......2005-10-25
I recently spent a bunch of money to take one of the several well established review courses. I purchased this book since it was relatively inexpensive and I thought I would check out the materials as a portable outline.
The book has not been updated since 2003. So much of the material is outdated!! Big problem!!! Need I say more!
Further, Amazon doesn't have a worthy return policy since I purchased this. I might change my review if the price were $5 because it isn't worth anymore.
Avoid Avoid Avoid
Overly brief.......2005-08-06
This book is too brief to be helpful. It is mainly an outline, with not much more detail than the CFP exam topics list. It doesn't serve as a very helpful reference resource because the Table of Contents is too simplistic, and has a very minimal index.

Not a book to waste your money on.......2007-03-11
I find it hard to believe that any of these "strategies" would work. Hang up signs, assume mortgages, options... don't waste your time. I have read many books and this is probably the worst. It may offer some motivation, but the majority of these ideas are worthless!
READ ME! Get rich or die trying.......2006-11-15
This book essentially puts it out to get rich by looking for preforeclosures or distressed mortgages, getting a house on the cheap and having someone else pay for the mortgage. Overall a general good book to read and a must have for the real estate investor's library.
PROS:
1. Describes tried and true rental strategies.
2. Describes flipping strategies.
CONS:
1. Advertisement about other seminars.
OTHER SUGGESTED READING:
1. Investing Without Losing (ISBN: 0978834607 NOT on amazn, on other stores)
Why? Learn how to buy properties below market value and flip it in a week.
The Real Estate Fast Track: How to Create a $5,000 to $50,000 Per Month Real Estate Cash Flow (Creating Cash Flow Series).......2006-09-17
Not worth the time reading. Get Rich quick ideas. Post signs and take over mortgage payments, lease options, etc
Priceless!!.......2006-06-29
This is one of the best books about building a real estate business I have ever read. If you already have a few income producing properties then this is the book for you. There's a ton of books out there for people that want to start investing in Real Estate, but if you already own properties and want to learn more about building a real estate business that works so you don't have to then this is the book you need. I read the book cover to cover and it is a GREAT value, dollar for dollar you cannot get better information!
Oh, My!.......2006-06-28
This book functions primarily as a large advertisement for the author's seminars/classes. Most of what the book presents is naive, simplistic or just plain wrong. The financial side techniques presented include "tried and true" goodies that don't work now and didn't work when I first read them in a book my dad bought 40 years ago.
The negotiating tactics don't work. See Spin Selling for some of the best sales and negotiating material out there.
Of course, if you are able to deal only with people who are completely ignorant of the real estate values in their town and who distrust lawyers, i.e., don't have contracts reviewed in lieu of using a real estate broker, you may get some of these gems to work for you.
And what do I know? Not much -- but I have appeared in court as an expert appraisal witness, made a few million in real estate (& yes, I still read books. Who knows when I'll find a good idea?) and been a real estate broker for 30 years.
The author, if he ever made any money in real estate, is now, it would seem, making his money selling his seminars. Run, don't walk, away from the author and his materials.
Book Description
Fast Track to Waste-Free Manufacturing: Straight Talk from a Plant Manager : John W. Davis details a new and proven system called Waste-Free Manufacturing (WFM) that rapidly deploys the lean process. Manufacturing in the United States is currently undergoing a major transition, yet large numbers of manufacturers simply do not recognize what it is all about. Many still operate under out dated manufacturing practices and do not see that the enemy is not the competition, but rather their own system of production. Batch, or mass, manufacturing is still the preferred system of production for most U.S.-based industry. But to survive, let alone become globally competitive, companies will have to put aside their old mass manufacturing paradigms and completely change their entire production system.
WFM will give you step-by-step directions to making rapid, lasting changes. Davis has created 4 new drivers of WFM and has linked them so you know what order to do them in and when it is time to move to the next driver. He covers nearly every aspect of the lean revolution and provides essential tools and techniques you will need to implement WFM. He also addresses the critical management issues that will arise in any plant that is striving to be world class.
Drawing from more than 30 years of manufacturing experience, John Davis gives you tools and techniques for eliminating anything that cannot be clearly established as value added. WFM is not a theory. It is a proven process, and one the author has successfully implemented. He shares with you from his own experiences in guiding manufacturers through this process. Davis fully details the journey of a factory that moved from mass to waste-free manufacturing in a matter of 24 months. This factory was nationally recognized by wall street analysts as an effective manufacturing model. You get to sit in on their meetings and learn from their triumphs and failures.
So hold on to your hat, because you are about to learn how to do what most in the field of world class manufacturing tell you isnt possibleto rapidly deploy WFM and change the system of production. Filled with checklists, an ongoing case study, and, most important, strategies that will work, Fast Track to Waste-Free Manufacturing: Straight Talk from a Plant Manager will provide you with the principles and methodology for WFM and a road map for its implementation. All you need is the will, the focus, and a sense of urgency about the future of U.S. manufacturing. If you are a plant manager, foreman, supervisor, or executive who wants to quickly transform your factory into a world class manufacturer, Mr. Davis WFM methodology is must reading.

Not impressed.......2005-10-19
I expected this to be written in a practical, bare-knuckels style similar to "The Goal". There are a few narrative pages like this scattered about the book (which are the highlight in my opinion), but less than 10% of the book is devoted to these pages. The bulk of the book is a clutter of every hackneyed acronym manufacturing consultants have used over the last couple of decades: Takt time, Toyota Production System (TPS), one piece flow, Workplace organization, U-flow, Error-free processing, JIT, Pull manufacturing, kanban, kaizen, SMED, contiunous improvement, lean manufacturing, 5S, you name the buzzword - its in there. The author seems to revel in this verbal masturbation. The book basically glosses over these flavor-of-the-month manufacturing concepts (assuming a level of knowledge of each) and compares them to each other. There is very little explanation of how to implement them, or how they were implemented in any of the companies the author says he worked for. There is a refreshing honesty that some of these concepts are useless (which you already know if manufacturing is your field) The book 'feels' very much like the work of a consultant and NOT a plant manager.
I found almost nothing useful that I could apply to the small company where I work.
The Single Best Book on Lean Implementation.......2002-05-01
John Davis takes a simple step-by-step approach in describing the transformation of a plant from a typical troubled operation to a lean operation. Davis focuses on basics and "how-to", not buzz words and jargon. Davis provides a framework that can be used by any plant manager who is trying to implement lean manufacturing concepts in a 'traditional' manufacturing setting. This can be used in high volume opertaions but is especially useful in low volume or job shop manufacturing, where the Toyota model with its manic focus on tact time is not always applicable. Davis focuses on workplace organization (using a 6C model which is an adaptation of the familiar 5S concept) as the basis of any lean transformation. This perspective alone is worth the price of the book because many lean efforts fail due to lack of fundamental workplace organization. If you are a plant manager or GM tasked with turning around a low performing operation, or you simply want a primer on Lean, this is the one to buy.
Superb! Excellently written!! Great learning tool !!.......1999-05-24
Having worked as a facilitator, manager, and consultant transitioning fortune 500 manufacturing companies from batch to lean manufacturing operations since 1991, my hat is off to Mr. John Davis on his superb book "Fast Track to Waste Free Manufacturing." In my travels and teachings I have been exposed to hundreds of teachers, managers, and authors who profess to be experts in the tools, techniques, and principles of the Toyota Production System and lean organizational skills. However, few if any, have the true experience of being in a position responsible for the success of failure of its implementation. Having had the privilege of working with Mr. Davis in the early 90's as he developed his expertise in waste free manufacturing, I can attest that in this book, Mr. Davis does what he always did best. "He walks the talk." In this book, he takes you on a journey of successful implementation of waste free manufacturing and profitability. This is a must read for managers and associates who understand and belief in the tools, principles, and techniques of a waste free manufacturing organiztion and want to learn how to do it. In this book, Mr. Davis demonstrates the importance of focus, commitment, communications, and leadership in transforming a batch organization to a waste free, profitable organization. "For when a true leader has successfully completed his task....They will say we did it ourselves.
Excellent! Best In Class!!.......1999-04-28
I've been researching and reviewing dozens of books on Suzaki, Womack and Jones, Liker, Hamel and Prahalad, Treacy and Wiersema, Womack, Jones and Roos, Schonberger, Imai,Shingo,Monden, et. al. This book is the first one I've found that provides both rationale for change and, most importantly, step by guidance on "how to" implement the necessary changes. Written in a style that is at times reminiscent of "The Goal", Mr. Davis offers suggestions, recommendations, and guidelines in an easily readable 264 pages that contain no unnecessary jargon, disconcerting statistics, nor is it part of a doctoral thesis meant to impress the academic community. One gets the feeling from reading this book that Mr. Davis has actually "been there"; that he has worked in a career in manufacturing and is truly speaking from experience. Take my word for it; if you want to read one book or recommend one book to your subordinates on the subject, this is the one! I am pleased to write this review and would be willing to communicate with anyone regarding my impressions
Product Description
Divulges the real strategies used by professional poker players to consistently win major (and minor) no-limit hold 'em tournaments. With poker tournaments televised on more than a dozen television networks and internet poker sweeping the nation, the popularity of the game is at an all-time high. Everyone thinks they have a shot, as evidenced by the 5,600+ player field in the $10,000 main event at the 2005 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. If these weekend warriors hope to win, they'd better know the same strategies that the pros use. Authors Blair Rodman and Lee Nelson, both poker professionals, spill the beans about the strategies they (and most of the big-name poker players) use to keep scooping the pots.

help in the wsop.......2007-09-16
I found the information contained in Kill Phil useful & productive.
It can provide another weapon in the arsenal of a serious poker player.
No system of play can substitute for hours of practice, lots of reading,
and constantly striving for improvement in your game. I experimented with Kill Phil in the recent WSOP Ladies circuit event in Tunica and went from placing 27th last year to placing 18th this year. Aside from the basic Kill Phil system, the book contains advice & a tournament overview
from two people who have been there. Of the many poker books I have read,
I found this one very worthwhile!
There's a very important concept here........2007-09-14
While reading this book, the reviews, online message boards, and playing constant online tourneys, it has occurred to me that there's a very important concept here. Namely, is there a mathematical basis for going all-in anytime you deside to play a hand?
I can see how these ideas were derived. For instance, suppose I have AK, and you have QJ, well since the status quo is for me to win, if neither of us improve, I'll win. On the other hand, IF you pair Q or J and I don't pair A or K, then you'll win. The same is true whether or not you hold 8 5. Also, obviously, if either of us draw to a straight or a flush we'll win, but if we both do, I'll win. And so on.
So, I can see how there might be some logic to going all-in with 8 5 as easy as one would go all-in with AJ. But here's where it comes back to reality. Even though it's true that if no one has a pair we both have the same odds of pairing something, that doesn't mean that the better hands won't win in the long run.
It just throws a giant monkey wrench into the picture in the short run.
So, what's the moral of my message? This book presents a legitimate point describing a way to try and win a tournament. Whether or not it works is debatable, so go ahead and try it if you like.
I think the better players will come out on top anyway, and shouldn't be so quick to condemn this method.
Can't complain.......2007-07-08
The first time I used the strategy in this book, I won a 180 player tournament. Hard to argue with those results!
Phil Killers.......2007-06-12
I found this book very interesting. Not a bible, however, an interesting read that may well help me in future, I don't think it's the ultimate info, but another piece of artillary!
Like all 'how to' books, no one, no one would give up 'the nuts' of a system. They would keep it too themselves!
Not much help.......2007-02-19
I play a lot of poker and developed a successful method over the years without books. Playing this strategy after reading though, my ROI in tourneys went way, way down.

Book Description
Suzy Favor-Hamilton is the premier female middle-distance runner in the United States, whose many honors include six U.S. National Championships, nine NCAA Titles, and four Big Ten Athlete of the Year Awards (now called the Suzy Favor awards). In this book, she teams up with Jose Antonio, Ph.D., one of the preeminent exercise and sports nutrition scientists in the country, to show young female runners how to improve at their favorite sport. Currently, there are 4.6 million women in the United States who run 100 days or more each year. In Fast Track, they will discover: l How much, how hard, and when to train (and rest) l The pros and cons of strength training, cross-training, stretching, and other non-running exercises l How to avoid the top 10 mistakes runners usually make l Why Suzy's diet program is very different than is generally recommended-and how this program has led to dramatic improvements in her running and her life off the track Suzy's real-world experience competing at the highest level in athletics combined with Dr. Antonio's in-depth knowledge of exercise and nutrition science will make this book a must read for all female runners-both competitive and recreational-who want to go faster, play harder, and minimize the risk of injury.

Awesome Read!.......2007-08-27
This book was so informative on every aspect for a female runner. Suzy made the nutrition aspect so easy to understand. Really takes the guesswork out of what to eat and when.
Fantastic! Don't miss this one........2007-04-18
I randomly picked this book up in a book store and was pleasantly surprised as I thumbed through it. It was exactly what I was looking for - something that could advise me thoroughly on necessary changes to my training, nutrition and much more in order to start getting in real shape for running competitively. I was amazed at the level of detail in this book - and it's the kind of detail you need. In no other book about running would you expect a thorough description of the exact differences in protein powders and what time of day you should take each kind, etc...and then a chart of the brands and their ingredients. It's perfect and practical. Not at all repetitive or boring. A very easy, useful read. I started taking notes as I read and had a comprehensive shopping list for the grocery store the next day. Don't miss this one!
Probably useful for more advanced runners, but not me.......2006-12-27
I found this book to be very repetitive, and not very helpful. A few of the chapters I find interesting, like the one where she explains that for runners, the USDA food guide pyramid should really be flipped upside down. But she used her backup evidence from this chapter over and over again throughout the book. I really only need to hear "Fish is an essential food" once or twice to get it into my head. Also, towards the end, when Suzy gives sample training plans, I was very upset. Pretty much all of them are only suitable for runners who have way too much time on their hands, and are at a college level of training. I was looking for a way to spice up my training, but all I got were endless lists of two-a-days (who has time for that?) and hour long runs (the average high school girl doesn't have that much endurance). She doesn't seem to understand that we all can't be like her and perfect our diets, allowing only 5 treats per week, and running to what, for most of us, would be almost complete exhaustion. Suzy probably isn't the best person to write a book like this for female runners, because ever since she was in high school, she's been a star, and has never really experienced the long, hard transition from nothing at all to strenuous workouts.
I gave it 3 stars, because she had good intentions, but didn't pull them out the best way possible. I did however get some good nutrition tips, and learned some new strength exercises to add to my normal routine.
From a coach for young runners.......2006-11-24
This is fantastic. Suzy Favor has been a woman to be emulated since she first showed up as a world class middle distance runner. She touches some of the very important parts of the physical and psychological needs of an aspiring young female through her own experiences.
In using her own life as a template, many of the young ladies who read this will make better choices when confronted with decisions that could have an adverse impact. As a coach I've seen too many who want to use these young people for their own benefit without regard to their well being or safety.
Nice going Suzy. You were a great runner and are still a great role model.
Perfect Resource for Women Runners.......2006-03-09
I liked this book because of it's context and because it was easy to implement. It is targeted for female runners but I have reccommended the book to a varietay of athletes from young, older, male, female, swimmers, runners, bikers. This has been the best infromation I have recieved on nutrition for athletes.

This is an Excellent Book !!.......2006-03-15
I met Mr. Felberbaum on Saturday March 11, 2006 at the USA Memory Competition New York City at the Con Edison building. What a great guy! I introduced myself and expressed to him how much I enjoyed reading his excellent book. This book is a pleasure to read, informative, and includes many easy to follow strategies that can dramatically improve your ability to remember ANYTHING you want. I highly recommend this book!
Proven Techniques for Brainpower Champions.......2005-12-13
Frank Felberbaum's "The Business of Memory" is one of the most practical books on the market for providing clear and concise methods for anyone to increase their memory. I used Frank's techniques with great success when I helped coach the current high school US Memory Championship team.
Memorable!.......2005-07-07
The organization and superb clarity with which this book is written makes it an easy read, despite the subject matter being complex. The writer has found a way for us to want to focus on his altruistic goal for us: to enhance our memory skills so that we can be more influential in the business world, and in our social interactions. Yet, the book is useful for everyone. We are once again convinced that knowledge is power, and Mr. Felberbaum's knowledge seems to be golden power, and we want it badly. He then provides us with hundreds of tools to improve areas where many struggle, including how to give a speech without notes, absorbing the contents of a lecture, and remembering people's names. We trust him as an expert in memory as he shares his motivation for entering this field, documents his own training, his vast experience, and then describes for us the amazing ways he has applied his abilities all over the world, letting us in on his secrets.

Little depth or application to medical sales.......2007-06-03
I bought this book expecting more information pertinent to making medical sales. I found there to be little in terms of industry paradigms and expectations. The selling strategies seemed pretty elementary.
I've had more success reading good relationship sales texts, such as SPIN Selling or Relationship Selling in combination with The Health Care Value Chain.
Great Sales Book for the Beginner to the Seasoned Sales Rep.......2007-05-13
I have read several sales "how to" texts through my 10 year career in medical sales (pharmaceutical, device, and biotech indutries) and this has been my best find to date. Recently, I have taken on national and international sales training for my company, and have ordered this text for the new hires who have limited sales expereince. There are also great tips for the well expereinced sales representatives as well. The MSDR includes great info on how to get past gate keepers, how to sell to multiple levels within a hospital, through sales basics.
Tremendous tool from the experts in Medical Sales!!!.......2006-12-24
Books like these don't come along every day. Ryan Gray and his team are the absolute experts when it comes to Medical Sales. Whether you want to be the top rep in your company or if you want to be working for the top medical company in the industry, you can't find a book with better strategies.
The unpretentious and straightforward writing makes it easy to read, and the ideas can be implemented immediately. This book is time saver and a valuable tool for being successful in medical sales.
Highly Recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well worth the money.......2006-06-30
I've been in the device business for about 5 years now and picked up this book a few months ago. There were things I'd never thought of in there. My return on investment (based on some new ideas from the book) was very high and my manager is taking a look at it right now. I was sceptical as well. Nice free gifts also. I just gave Ryan my Amazon order number and he sent the the freebies.
It is all about Win Win!.......2006-05-20
I found the Vendesi Group and Ryan Gray's book, to be an wonderfully easy to read book, while at the same time you find yourself needing a break after each chapter so that you can pause and absorb the content. Very simple and straight forward writing makes it easy to read, and the depth of wisdom makes it a book to carry along with you as you travel and continue on your quest to becoming a better salesperson.
