5 out of 5 stars Excellent!!!!.......2007-10-23

I purchased the book and the CD's together. I couldn't put the book down!Since I read it so fast, I feel the CD's are a reinforcement, plugging in the areas where the written word didn't impact me. I listen while driving, and find new things in the content all the time. What a delight to listen to. I'm finding things are coming to me,actually without that much effort on my part. I've NEVER been SO conscious in all my life! It's commanding that we live a full life in all areas, to evolve into our higher self. Definitly gives you the how and why and the ability to get into the flow and act on our instincts. I can't stop telling people about this!

5 out of 5 stars This book has changed my life........2007-10-23

I've heard of this book from some friends few months ago, and I watched the first 20 minute of the Secret DVD on YouTube with them. I got so interested in this LoA, so I searched a lot of information on internet and watched many videos about it. But like many of readers here, I was very skeptical about this and it is just so commercial and I didn't believe in the LoA.

For the last few months while I didn't believe in the LoA, my life was suffering so much from depression and loneliness that come from being in a foreign country by myself. I desperately wanted to find way to change my life. Nothing ever worked. Then I came back to have interest in the Secret. I began to read this book from the bookshop nearby and then after I started to read this book, so much hope and belief came within me. I've never thought of buying this book, coz I thought that all this book was saying is that "Visualize what you want and you will have them." I was like how is it even possible? What kinda rubbish is that?

But as my last hope to desperately wanting to change my life, I purchased this book few days ago, and am determined to make this LoA work for me. And although I haven't manifested anything very amazing yet, a lot of changes are occuring within me. I realized how important it is to keep out my negative feelings and thoughts, and forcus on good things in my life and think about what I really want and feel good about it. As I try to really practice it, I have been monitoring most of my thoughts, and within these few days already my interpersonal relationships are improving and I don't feel that desperate loneliness and depression anymore.

I believe in the LoA, and I made my mindmovie and am watching twice everyday. For those who think this book is all rubbish, I recommend that maybe you should at least try this first, and then if it doesn't work for you, then complain. I don't think there is anything to really lose by applying what this book is teaching into real life. So what is the point of blaming this book and the author even before you really practice it?

Anyway, although the amazing magic this book is showing us doesn't manifest to us, it surely changed most of my negative thinking pattern and feelings, and even only for that, this money I invested for this book is so much worth it. I've read tons of self-help books and none of those books were anyway near to this book in changing my thinking patterns.

Book Description

Do you want to get ahead in life?

Climb the ladder to personal success?

The secret, master networker Keith Ferrazzi claims, is in reaching out to other people. As Ferrazzi discovered early in life, what distinguishes highly successful people from everyone else is the way they use the power of relationships—so that everyone wins.

In Never Eat Alone, Ferrazzi lays out the specific steps—and inner mindset—he uses to reach out to connect with the thousands of colleagues, friends, and associates on his Rolodex, people he has helped and who have helped him.

The son of a small-town steelworker and a cleaning lady, Ferrazzi first used his remarkable ability to connect with others to pave the way to a scholarship at Yale, a Harvard MBA, and several top executive posts. Not yet out of his thirties, he developed a network of relationships that stretched from Washington’s corridors of power to Hollywood’s A-list, leading to him being named one of Crain’s 40 Under 40 and selected as a Global Leader for Tomorrow by the Davos World Economic Forum.

Ferrazzi's form of connecting to the world around him is based on generosity, helping friends connect with other friends. Ferrazzi distinguishes genuine relationship-building from the crude, desperate glad-handling usually associated with “networking.” He then distills his system of reaching out to people into practical, proven principles. Among them:

Don’t keep score: It’s never simply about getting what you want. It’s about getting what you want and making sure that the people who are important to you get what they want, too.

“Ping” constantly: The Ins and Outs of reaching out to those in your circle of contacts all the time—not just when you need something.

Never eat alone: The dynamics of status are the same whether you’re working at a corporation or attending a society event— “invisibility” is a fate worse than failure.

In the course of the book, Ferrazzi outlines the timeless strategies shared by the world’s most connected individuals, from Katherine Graham to Bill Clinton, Vernon Jordan to the Dalai Lama.

Chock full of specific advice on handling rejection, getting past gatekeepers, becoming a “conference commando,” and more, Never Eat Alone is destined to take its place alongside How to Win Friends and Influence People as an inspirational classic.

5 out of 5 stars Never Eat Alone .......2007-10-20

Never Eat Alone is not your typical business manual. By following the author's strategies you will not only grow your business but will profit in your personal relationships as well. It is truly life altering. So many books are written on how to be successful and using people to gain that level of success. This book focuses on relationships and how building on those relationships, success will follow. Get your pen and paper out, this book has so many practical tips that you'll want to read them over and over. Katherine Burger RN,C CWS Supervisor Outpatient Services Ocala Regional Medical Center

5 out of 5 stars Simple, but good advice.......2007-10-17

The advice presented in this book is quite simple and nothing is really new. Don't expect any advice based on the academic writing on social networks. Still I liked the style of writing and good practical examples. The key problem is naturally to implement the author's advice. He has for instance great advice on dinner parties, but the key difficulty is to get moving and doing it. In this regard, a book cannot really do much. Still, this book makes it as easy as possible.

2 out of 5 stars Not impressed.......2007-10-15

This stuff put into practice would spread your network to thin and you wouldn't make real friends with anybody. I didn't gain anything from reading this book.

1 out of 5 stars too basic.......2007-10-14

some good ideas but would expect a book like this to sell for $4.00 to $6.00. Here is the gist of the book: middle class childhood and was able to get into Yale where he met people, became friends and kept in touch with. Guess what, he was able to tap the network and help himself... wow who knew? So, if you are going to a City college you might no be meeting the "right" people. Seriously, for those with no clue about being social, this book may help them. Marketing can be learned... many of us (even experienced markeing people) at time can be a wall flower. Don't fret, just follow up and talk about things other than work.... kids, pets, sports, etc.

4 out of 5 stars Be a better connector.......2007-10-14

Your don't have to be a super-connector like Ferrazzi to be a better connector in your own life. I took away some useful perspectives that I am starting to incorporate into my own routines. For instance, this book helped me recognize the potential value that lies hidden in my own Outlook address book.

I have begun to turn the regrets I felt for not keeping in touch into actions. "Never Eat Alone" is not only a great title for this book, but also a concept that helps to remind me of the simple opportunities available on a daily basis to better connect with the people around me.

Book Description

In this short, powerful book, multimillionaire and bestselling author Steven K. Scott reveals King Solomon’s breakthrough strategies to achieve a life of financial success and personal fulfillment.

Steve Scott flunked out of every job he held in his first six years after college. He couldn’t succeed no matter how hard he tried. Then Dr. Gary Smalley challenged him to study the book of Proverbs, promising that in doing so he would achieve greater success and happiness than he had ever known. That promise came true, making Scott a millionaire many times over.

In The Richest Man Who Ever Lived, Scott reveals Solomon’s key for winning every race, explains how to resolve conflicts and turn enemies into allies, and discloses the five qualities essential to becoming a valued and admired person at work and in your personal life. Scott illustrates each of Solomon’s insights and strategies with anecdotes about his personal successes and failures, as well as those of such extraordinary people as Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, and Steven Spielberg.

At once inspiring and instructive, THE RICHEST MAN WHO EVER LIVED weaves the timeless truths of one of our greatest works of literature into a detailed roadmap for successful living today.

3 out of 5 stars Just read Proverbs.......2007-09-13

The book is redundant and contradictory of itself. First the author says he didn't follow Proverbs as a young man then he says because of following Proverbs as a young man things went his way. I commend the author's efforts and I believe to some degree he does live by The Good Book, but honestly I think we all know what the author wants you to do, and what the Man Upstairs wants you to do. I now read Proverbs daily. It is a wonderful thing to do and I've recommended it to many. Rather than buy this book go download Proverbs and start reading. If you are looking for a book that will take you about 3 hours to read that will ultimately tell you to read Proverbs about 100 times then read this book. Thank you for your time.

5 out of 5 stars Dynamic Wisdom.......2007-08-13

This book definitely changes your perspective and causes you to reposition yourself concerning the promises and principles of God.

5 out of 5 stars A challenge with a promise........2007-07-25

After praying about what career advice to give his friend, Gary Smaller offered his friend Steve Scott a challenge in which he promised that if Steve would follow the advice, he would not only be successful, but would be a millionaire in 5 years. The challenge was to read a chapter of the proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters in proverbs, and most months have 31 days, he was instructed to read the chapter that corresponded to the day of the month. Steve took the advice and made good on the promise his friend gave him.

The book is based on the principals/lessons/advice from the Proverbs. It explores the meanings of certain passages and shows how to derive benefit from them. Steve shares some of his own experiences throughout.

Solomon was the wisest, richest man that ever was or will be. Seems like someone worth listening to and studying doesn't it?

This is a book that can make a positive difference in your life.

5 out of 5 stars Great Book.......2007-07-16

Great Book that discusses the benefit of not going alone but having other like minded individuals around you. Backs a lot of his thoughts/facts with scripture from the book of Proverbs. I actually read the book about a year ago and am currently re-reading it. Great book, great, easy, quick read.

This is an amazing book for anyone who is looking for how to set their mind towards attaining success in life (not just about money).

5 out of 5 stars A List-Topper for this Financial Adviser.......2007-10-16

Not necessarily a book on investing, but a book about the mindset of successfully making money. This is one book consistently on the top of my list.

1 out of 5 stars Critisicm on think and grow rich.......2007-10-16

I have read this book so many times, during the past 1.5 years, and today I think its a very bad book.
The problem with the book is that it explains you how to use autosuggestion which dosent work on common sense and rationality, which is the main thing in life. The book has some other positive points about faith, controling your emotions and persistent, in general dont do the mistakes I did and follow the instructions of the book, enjoy other books.

5 out of 5 stars In a self-improvement class by itself.......2007-10-10

Without doubt this is one of the strangest books I've ever read - a combination of dime store psychology and million dollar insights, scientific mumbo jumbo and indisputable facts of life. Of course, you have to make allowances because Hill first published the book in 1937 (!). Amazingly, it's just as relevant and potentially life transforming now as it no doubt was then. (This edition restores lots of original text that was edited out when Hill re-released "Think" in 1960. Ample footnotes provide context for historical references unfamiliar to modern readers.)

The essence of "Think" can be summed up in Hill's signature phrase, "Whatever, friend, you can conceive and believe, you can achieve!"

Hill puts forth 13 steps for internalizing this conceive-believe-achieve mindset necessary for success. Although upon first reading "Think" seems to equate success with piling up obscene amounts of money, Hill goes much deeper. Several times he implores us to decide for ourselves what success means - remembering his principles apply equally well to any goals we set out to accomplish. Hill himself admits his emphasis on money stems from the social conditions of his time, when America was languishing in poverty during the Great Depression.

What I thought made Hill's techniques so persuasive is the twenty-five years of research he put into developing them, based on close-hand observation of super-achievers including Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and Andrew Carnegie. If these gentlemen were living examples of Hill's ideas, what more can you ask for?

Even without the research, Hill's advice ring true. But don't expect soothing comfort pills from this self-help book. First, Hill gets in your face. He forces you to face the brutal truth of who you are through a series of self-diagnostic questions designed to take you way out of your comfort zone. Then, Hill puts you to work. His methods force you to think, act, and drill yourself into a whole new way of thinking about life. I'm sure it takes a few readings just to take the first baby steps on Hill's path (I'm on my second reading now).

Anybody who wants more from life, who feels confused, indecisive, frustrated, or oppressed, to any degree whatsoever, in any aspect of his or her life, will benefit from reading this book. It's already making a difference for me.

1 out of 5 stars a collection of oblique and unexplained parables.......2007-10-07

I picked this book up after a rave review by a friend more than 15 years ago.

I started reading it and it made no sense to me. Unlike the parables of Christ, where He at least is credited with stopping for a moment to explain what each story was intended to mean, this book just rambles on.

The parts of it that I finished represented an excruciating exercise in gnostic behavior. It's actually in your face about it suggesting that if you don't understand the stories, you're just stupid. I would not recommend this book to anyone. Only the author knows what it was intended to mean.

If you would like to start learning about how to take care of your clients and employees, I would recommend beginning with "Zapp!" by William Byham. If you need to discover relevant things about yourself and how to begin shaping your future, I would suggest "What Color is Your Parachute" by Richard Bolles, both current and past editions, as he has provided a collection of valuable study tools over the years.

1 out of 5 stars Christians Beware of Hollow Philosophy.......2007-05-18

The Present by Spencer Johnson is a self-proclaimed life changing book for those who would incorporate its principles. For those who have not read it, the book is all about living in the present, and focusing on the positive aspects of every moment, never focusing on the negative. It presents these teachings by telling a story (typical of existential philosophy). The story is about an old man (read: guru) who shares the secret of meaningful living throughout the life of a man seeking answers. The old man never seems worried; he is always relaxed and appears to be at peace with life and the world. Through a series of cryptic messages, the old man teaches the other man that he can find meaning in the "present," which essentially consists of an existential experience that each person defines for themselves. By focusing on the good in the moment, we can find peace, meaning, and success.

This book ascribes to a combination of existential philosophy and Zen Budhism, blurring the line of truth. Truth is not seen as an objective thing, but an existential experience. Experience, not propositional truth, is the key to unlocking the meaning of life. Salvation comes through the teachings of a human guru leading to spiritual enlightenment, which man can achieve on his own. By definition, this is a godless philosophy.

The Present ignores the real problem of man: his depravity. I can be "in the moment," or practicing carpe diem while engaging in ungodly behavior. Of course, this is all up for interpretation. The existentialist is not interested in my definition of right and wrong, but only in his subjective experience. There is no authority to which one can appeal. So what if my carpe diem approach hurts others? It is up to the practicioner to decide if that is against his value system, which is determined by a kierkegaardian leap of faith, rather than any transcendent moral standard.

There is truth in most errors, though. That is were the deception lies. The message of focusing on the positive can be helpful, but only in the biblical sense of giving thanks to God in all circumstances (1 Thes 5:18), not in avoiding pain. What is right is more important than what makes me feel good. Jesus told his followers they would (and should) suffer, and exemplified it through the cross. While suffering, he cried out "My God, why have you foraken me" (Mark 15:34). This is the most poinent of the examples of partial truths, though there are others.

Much more could be said. The point is this: "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ." (Col. 2:8) In the end, what the author tries to do will not work: his program cannot offer real hope to mankind, for it does not deal with human depravity. Rather than seeking to find meaning by focusing on my present, we truly find it in God's presence. The quest for ultimate meaning is found in a relationship with the God of infinity, and through developing intimacy with Him. For a much better alternative to The Present, read Practicing His Presence by Brother Lawrence and Frank Laubach.

5 out of 5 stars Energize the team and prioritize.......2007-02-19

I purchased this book for my department at work. The team was under a lot of pressure to perform and as is often the case in adverse conditions, some were beginning to blame others and lose focus on the tasks at hand given the large amount of work yet to be done.

The response I recieved from the workforce was varied but all positive. Living in the present, learning from our past, preparing for the future, and living with purpose has become a sound bite in our department. The book is a quick read (less than 90 minutes), is entertaining, comes on CD if you want a book on tape rather than paper, and has been talked about far more than the time it took my team to read it.

If you have customers or coworkers that do important work and you have lost touch with what needs to be done, this book will help you step back from your task saturation and reflect on where you are at, where you need to go and why it is important for you to do so.

This is a book I will share for many years to come.

4 out of 5 stars The Present Is A Gift.......2007-01-20

A lot of wisdom and common sense wrapped up in a small package! Easy and fun to read yet, as deep and profound as you want to go.

5 out of 5 stars The Present Will Change Your Life.......2006-12-07

Often when I host a Leadersway training session I ask which of the many books we have read the group found most valuable. The answer I receive most often is, "The one about The Present".

"The Present", by Spencer Johnson is a great little book of only 104 pages that is packed full of more good advice than most books twice its size. The concept is simple, yet complex; the ideas are easy, yet difficult; the message is clear, yet indistinct. You must think, focus, and seek to understand "The Present".

For those of you who have not read this great book, or need a refresher, here is a condensed version of the concepts that you need to remember.

Always remember that you live neither in the past nor the future. You only live in the present. Therefore, you will be happiest and at your most productive when you focus on what is happening at the current moment in time. That is the essence of it.

Always focus on what is "right" in the present moment. Never focus on the negative in any situation. Focus on the positive and you will make good things happen. You will never make a positive choice or create a positive result in the present if you focus on the negative.

Speaking of focus: Always focus, focus, focus. When you are speaking with someone focus on them and what they are saying. Eliminate extraneous thoughts of other things, turn away from your computer, turn off your phone, and pay attention. That's it! Your life will be much better by simply applying that one simple rule to your dealings with others. You will learn more about them and they will appreciate you much more. Apply this to all elements of your job and your life. You will be much more successful and the fruits of your labor will be that much sweeter.

You need not eliminate the past or the future from your life completely. You should learn from the past. Remember your mistakes and take steps not to make the same ones over and over again. Also, remember to recall the good things of the past and attempt to recreate them. In times of trouble, always buoy yourself up with good memories and positive thoughts.

Do not make the mistake of wasting your present by dreaming of an imaginary or unrealistic future. You must always plan for the future and do positive things in the present in order to attain your goals. "Plan your work and work your plan." Do not wish your life away by making unfounded assumptions that the future will be better than the present unless you have done the work and laid the plans to make your dreams come true.

The Present is all you have right now. Enjoy it and live it to the fullest!

A logical companion book to "The Present" is "Always Remember: If it ain't fun it ain't Worth Doing!" This one will show you how to use the "Present" in real workplace situations... Wayne Kehl

4 out of 5 stars A Take-Away Told in a Clever Story.......2006-10-17

I picked up this book at the recommendation that the moral of this book would do me some good -- and it did. The key take-away is woven through a clever story of this short book. I picked it up at the bookstore and read through it in a few hours. It is recommended for those looking for a reminder to see what's in front of them now (i.e. Don't forget to smell the flowers). However, it is NOT recommended for those looking for an eye-opening revelation.
Caveat/Note: I have not read any of Johnson's other books but I would consider taking a look at it based on my review of this book.

A breakthrough practical spiritual guide to achieving all your goals

For the first time ever, one of the rarely discussed formulas for building wealth and achieving success in all areas is revealed in The Attractor Factor. Popular marketing and spirituality guru Joe Vitale argues that those who try hard and fail need to remake their inner beings in order to easily attract success, wealth, and happiness. Many people do the right things but get the wrong results; it's not so much what they do, as what they are inside. The problem for most people is self-sabotage. In five easy steps, Vitale shows anyone how to become happier and more successful by doing a few simple things differently every day. Part wealth-creation guide, part spiritual road map, part autobiography, The Attractor Factor offers inspiring, effective answers for anyone who wants to feel better, be happier, get wealthier, and get ahead in life.

Joe Vitale (Wimberley, TX) is President of Hypnotic Marketing, Inc., a marketing consulting firm. He has been called "the Buddha of the Internet" for his combination of spirituality and marketing acumen. His articles are widely read and his professional clients include The Red Cross, PBS, Hermann Children's Hospital, and many other small and large international businesses. His past books include There's a Customer Born Every Minute and The AMA Complete Guide to Small Business Advertising.

3 out of 5 stars Attractor.......2007-10-23

I liked allot of what this book says, but I am not so sure how easy it is to change a life as the sub-title suggests. I saw The Secret, and I like Dr. Vitale in it, as I do in this book as well. Everything he says seems to make sense. But both The Secret, and this book, are not going to profoundly change your lives. Well, I should not say that. It may, but it will likely be a work in progress. It just depends on were you are in your life, and how much you want to change. I read this book at the beginning of this year. And I saw The Secret at the beginning of 2006. I have noticed changes in my awareness of life. I am more comfortable in life as well. Maybe that comfort is knowing that there is too much unknown. But it is still baby steps. One moment at a time. Very small ripples in the lake.

5 out of 5 stars prosperity consciousness from another source.......2007-08-05

Florence Scovel Shinn was writing about prosperity consciousness in the late 1800's and early 1900's, well ahead of the current trend. Her books are easy to read and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book to all of my friends and they are purchasing it and doing the same. That says it all in my mind.

5 out of 5 stars Changed my entire approach to living. . ........2007-07-06

The Game of Life and How to Play It has been the most influential self-help reading to date that I have found. The book is easy to read and understand. I have read my copy probably 15 times; pages are beginning to fall out. The fact that it is divided into sections for life's encounters, e.g., prosperity, love, etc., I can go back when I need help getting through the rough times to that particular section and gain strength and guidence. Once read, the writings just all come together to make more sense about approaching life's daily challenges than anything I have ever read; and, trust me I've read plenty of self-help books. I love this book so much that I have bought 6 copies to give to beloved family members and close friends because I do not want to keep the insights this book reveals to myself. I want everyone I care deeply about to experience what this book has to offer. Great read, great lessons!

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant!.......2007-06-13

I've had this book for years and have worn out the cover. I refer to it constantly. I purchased copies for friends and have been doing so since I first read it. Florence was before her time!

5 out of 5 stars My Favorite Book of All Time!.......2007-06-09

Absolutely without question the most charming and inspiring book I've ever read. My copy is lovingly dog-eared, my loaner copy is in the same condition and I've bought several as gifts.

Of all the "positive thinkers", including the much more well-known such as Louise Hay and Norman Vincent Peale, Florence is the most enjoyable to read and the easiest to apply to your life, in my opinion.

Reading her is sheer delight and an instant mood-lifter and problem-solver, every time.

5 out of 5 stars before the secret.......2007-05-17

This is an amazing collection of writings that gives real and practial ways to move forward in life. A Lady well before her time, the princibles that she teaches are not secrets just forgotten over time.

Have a little faith, change your Life.

Book Description

EXCUSE ME, YOUR LIFE IS WAITING: THE ASTONISHING POWER OF FEELINGS picks up where most positive thinking books have left off, giving us the rather startling new information that every moment of our lives is governed by our EMOTIONS, not by luck, or hard work, or circumstance, or good thoughts, or visualization.

The material in EXCUSE ME has never been told before, because it was never known before, and clarifies why the majority of us have lived with all-too-empty bank accounts, tough relationships, failing health, and often spiritually unfulfilling lives.

In her upbeat, humorous, and somewhat irreverent style, author Lynn Grabhorn (who increased her income 830% in one year using these principles) shows us how, with this astonishing new data, to turn it all around and create the kind of life we've always dreamed of...not ten years from now, but RIGHT NOW.

5 out of 5 stars its true...........2007-10-13

I have just finished this book it was roaming around my apartment for 2 months, I picked up the book one day while I was feeling as low as possible about my current circumstances, by the time I fifnished reading this book not only did I feel much, much better but amazing things had started to happen for me.... It has truly changed my life. I had always heard of the law of attration but never really understood it until I read this book, I am now hooked and want to learn everything I can about the subject. I have told everyone I know and they are now interested in following this amazing gift. Please be clear that My faith in GOD has not changed and I truly beleive in the higher powers that are far greater than us, this is just something for me to become a better and happier "me".

4 out of 5 stars An entertaining book about the power of feelings.......2007-10-09

I read this book a while back and found it to be of great value to me. As other reviewers have pointed out, it perhaps could have benefited from some additional editing, but in my view it's the raw content that's key as opposed to focusing too much on the mechanics of the writing. I really liked Lynn's sense of humor, and her passion for the topic was obvious throughout the book. Was it repetitive in places? Sure, but many books in the personal and personal growth categories are like this. If the message is solid I don't see a problem with hearing it a few times within the context of the work. Because it's both informative and entertaining, in my own book I've included "Excuse Me..." as a "must read" for anyone on the path of spiritual growth.

5 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST.......2007-10-04

I have spent an entire year devouring books on the Spiritual Laws of the Universe, you name it, ive read it. I am finally understanding the concepts now and my life feels great. I started with This book "Excuse me your life is waiting" then went on the read EVERYTHING (thanks to the recommended reading list on the back page of The Attractor Factor, thanks Joe!!) including many FANTASTIC Authors including Abraham/Hicks, Wayne Dyer, Florence Scovel-Shinn, Ghalil,Mike Dooley. and many many others, and the thing is Lynn gives techniques to incorporate with what All of these Great Great people are teaching. We do have to RAISE OUR VIBRATION, We have to FEEL GOOD. Postitive thoughts/images/feelings will GIVE US positive events/things in our lives. The thing is Lynn gives us WONDERFUL Techniques to use, I have found myself now going back to this book and reading it again and just LOVING it, it is a must must must read (and practice) to compliment your other readings. GOD BLESS YOU LYNN.

3 out of 5 stars Law of Attraction does not work.......2007-10-01

I absolutely love this book, I have read it several times but the entire premise is flawed.

In chapter six she writes that she "hired a salesperson that was more into lack than I was (naturally; that was all I could attract)" and at the bottom of the same page she writes "It was somewhere right around that emotional low when a bunch of my all-too-enthusiastic friends began insisting I look into this material they had gotten hold of about the Law of Attraction".

Those two sentences are contradictory. If the only thing that she could attract was someone focusing on lack, how would it be possible for her to attract her friends that were focusing on abundance. If the Law of Attraction were a law of the universe, as she states, either she would attract one but not the other. She can't have both.

While I love her story and the inspiration of how things can be turned around in one's life at the drop of a hat, I love the explanation that conditions and circumstances are unimportant, and I have no doubt that her experiences were true and that the "suit of well being" where nothing can harm you is possible, I cannot believe that it came about by using the Law of Attraction. It would have been violated for her to get the information to her in the first place.

I believe that what happened was that the Expanded Self, as she calls, just got tired of playing with the situation that it had created and just created a totally different scenario, only it used the Law of Attraction as an excuse to do so, and make her think that the Law of Attraction was responsible for her turnaround when it has no value whatsoever.

5 out of 5 stars A Life-changing Book.......2007-08-30

Once in a few years you come across a book which has a life-changing impact. This is one of them. The changes in my life as a result of reading it are profound. A few months after reading the book, I am still implementing the ideas and manifesting amazing results. In the last twenty or more years I have read an enormous amount of self-help books, many of them dealt with Reality Creation. This books most definitely gets the first prize. If, like me, you have been reading many books and still not experiencing any significant changes in your reality, this book is the biggest present you could give yourself. Buy it and watch the miracles come marching into your life.

4 out of 5 stars Quantum Success.......2007-10-10

This is interesting if you like metaphysical information substantiated with scientific and logical thinking. It has a rather authorative tone so if you can take that on board and listen to the core the authoress is sharing her personal experience. It's good in terms of giving you tasks and objectives and then revising these at the conclusion of each chapter.

As you build the content and reflect on it you may find the editing lays out the information in a way to easily retrieve and return to.

The content does need time to absorb and it is easy text to read through.
A useful way of considering this type of subject.

5 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS LIFE CHANGING!!!.......2007-09-18

I don't know how to aptly express how grateful I am that I found this book and how much it has changed my life.
I found "The Secret" last December and started working with the LOA principles as best I could understand them, and have made many huge changes in my life (like moving across the country!), all for the positive.

However, Sandra's book is "The Secret" times 1000! This book is so much deeper than any of the LOA or positive thinking books, DVD's, and audio tapes I have used over this past year. She uses a combo of positive thinking, self-realization, and the Law of Attraction as well as other laws to create a complete life thinking overhaul.

Today, I am happy, peaceful, and thrilled to be alive and able to express my creativity on this earth! A year ago I could never have imagined that it was possible to feel this way, I had no idea what peace or lasting joy felt like! Now I am able to take each day and live it fully. No worries about the future swimming around in my head constantly, and no "problems" in my life any longer, just challenges that help me grow!

I know it sounds a bit corney, really I do!, but yet it is still true. If you are ready to change the way you think and the way you feel every moment of the day, get this book! You will not be sorry for the $10 investment! I had to buy additional copies for my family and friends, and I hope they get the same value out of it that I have.

Thank you Sandra for changing my life!!!

In 'Quantum Success' the reader is shown how to make dreams come true by working with the energy of powerful life forces. 'Quantum Success' takes you on a quantum leap into a life of prosperity, abundance and happiness by enhancing our understanding of personal life transformation.

What I like most in this book is that I have discovered some unique strategies and formulas for successful living that I have not seen anywhere else; and the information is all scientifically verifiable.

'Be Who You Are' is not a book for general readership, but is a gem for people setting a foundation for their careers and lives. As a tool, it needs to be studied, researched, and worked with, not just skimmed through. Not for shallow people seeking popular entertainment or a Glamor magazine questionnaire, although it reads easily and is fun to learn.

Myers Briggs is one tool of several that are needed to really understand yourself, your job, your career path, and your life. The Myers Briggs type is a great tool, and 'Be Who You Are' is an outstanding guide for that purpose. Highly recommended for people in transitions, confusion, or motivated to advance.

5 out of 5 stars Know what you are... automatically you'll do what you are.......2007-09-03

Career + self help + self awareness
1-test to know your type
2- more info about deeper type functions and type developments with examples.
3-detailed and long case studies about each type
4-also ways for people who are in doubt to verify their type.
although the book seems big but you can go through it fast if you are reading about one type or two.
an important point here is that the book WILL NOT TELL you to be an architect for example... -although it may suggest so- simply because a site architect is totally different from a conceptualizer architect or a detailer...

1 out of 5 stars Yet Another Briggs-Meyers Book (YABMB).......2007-08-14

I wish all Briggs-Meyers books used "Briggs-Meyers" in their titles so they could be distinguished from others. The abstract should come out and say that's what the book means by "Personality Type..." If it did, I must have missed it.

I was hoping for something deeper than a rehash of Briggs-Meyers.

5 out of 5 stars Initially daunting.......2007-07-17

When first I saw this book, I thought, "I will never be able to read this whole thing!" I was wrong. The writing flows easily and the book is well organized and easily understood. It has been most helpful in my journey of self-discovery.

4 out of 5 stars Helped my choose my major........2007-07-13

This book was really helpful. What made it different from other personality type books is the real world example. I could read one and say, "that's just like me!" or "that's not me at all". After I finished it, which didn't take very long, I knew what my strengths and weaknesses were. It even gave me a list of good jobs for people like me. For a college student who's trying to decide what they want to do career wise, this book helped seal the deal and choose a major. I highly suggest it to anyone who is unsure who they are or what they want to do.
