Wellness is worth it!.......2007-08-07
Paul educates the reader about how to take part in the next trillion dollar industry by getting into health and wellness.
Question about something.......2007-07-30
I have read some of this book in the bookstore because it looked rather interesting - and is. And maybe I'm stretching things, but I was 'confused' by some things in it, and here is one example. He talks about Dr. Mercola's website, which I had previously learned about and registered on. Then later in the book, he touts how GREAT soy is. Well anyone that follows Mercola's website knows that Dr. M does not promote soy and actually has articles detailing the adverse effects that regular consumption of soy can produce. And with Pilzer writing about Mercola and later about how good soy is, well those two items are in conflict to me. I suppose I should see this book more along the lines of reference material as well as a promotion of how trends will tend toward pro-health activities and lifestyles, not forgetting to mention the potentially profitable opportunities that exist. I guess when I read a book, I expect topics and information to run along similar lines. It would be like say a democrat writing a book about his liberal views, with a chapter detailing how Roe vs. Wade should have been thrown out altogether. It just wouldn't be the expected fit for me. I welcome any comments to help me see things more accurately. Feel free to write to me at purpleshake on gmail if so inclined. Thank you.
The New Wellness Revolution - Rocks`.......2007-07-03

This book was amazing. Paul is dead on the money. As the owner of a fast growing Health & Wellness company, it is affirming to hear that I am doing the right things. It also gave me a lot of new ideas for my current projects. If anyone is considering being involved in this trillion dollar industry, this book is a must read!
A must read for anyone concerned about their health and the future!!.......2007-03-22

Book Description
A client from a decades-old case reaches out to Boston PI Spenser-but can he rescue troubled April Kyle once more?
Longtime Spenser fans will remember that once upon a time, though not so long ago, there was a girl named April Kyle-a beautiful teenage runaway who turned to prostitution to escape her terrible family life. The book was 1982's Ceremony, and, thanks to Spenser, April escaped Boston's "Combat Zone" for the relative safety of a high-class New York City bordello. April resurfaced in Taming a Sea-Horse, again in dire need of Spenser's rescue-this time from the clutches of a controlling lover. But April Kyle's return in Hundred-Dollar Baby is nothing short of shocking.
When a mature, beautiful, and composed April strides into Spenser's office, the Boston PI barely hesitates before recognizing his once and future client. Now a well-established madam herself, April oversees an upscale call-girl operation in Boston's Back Bay. Still looking for Spenser's approval, it takes her a moment before she can ask him, again, for his assistance. Her business is a success; what's more, it's an all-female enterprise. Now that some men are trying to take it away from her, she needs Spenser.
April claims to be in the dark about who it is that's trying to shake her down, but with a bit of legwork and a bit more muscle, Spenser and Hawk find ties to organized crime and local kingpin Tony Marcus, as well as a scheme to franchise the operation across the country. As Spenser again plays the gallant knight, it becomes clear that April's not as innocent as she seems. In fact, she may be her own worst enemy.

Lousy Story Line - Bad Ending!.......2007-10-18
I have always been a fan of detective storys and thought I try out the Robert B. Parker book - Hundred Dollar Baby.
I love the beginning of the book and it really turned kind of boring in the middle and thought that the ending would turn out okay but it did not end up okay! I did not really like the book in it entirety - story was stupid. Spenser in this book - is just not a rational detective - take on a case and would not drop it even with no client at the middle to the end of the story. Did not get any financial rewards out of it but alot of expenses and heartache to boot. Stupid detective in my opinion; not a business man at all! Kind of a fool in a lot of respects! Got to read the book to understand my points.
It was a poorly written; badly thought out storylines I have come across.
I will try another Spencer book as soon as I return this one for my money back.
Hundred-Dollar Baby.......2007-10-18
This was not Robert B. Parker's best Spenser novel. Loved the banter between Spenser and Hawk, as I always do, but the story itself was a little weak.
Hundred-Dollar Baby.......2007-10-12
This lacked the suspense that most of his stories has. Good B grade mystery story.
Spenser Fans Will Enjoy, But..........2007-10-04
Years ago, Boston PI Spenser made a difficult decision in helping troubled teen April Kyle get off the streets. Now the adult April is back in Boston running an upscale call-girl operation. April says she has been pretty successful in running the all-women business, but recently some thugs have been threatening to take it all away from her. They've come by the business a few times to squeeze some money from her and now they've starting beating up some of her workers and she wants Spenser to stop them. Spenser, who still wonders if he made the right decision years ago in sending April to work for Madame Patricia Utley, agrees to help April. But the more involved Spenser gets, the more he realizes that several people are lying to him, including April. The deeper Spenser digs into the case, the more he realizes that it's not going to have a happy ending.
Robert Parker fans will enjoy "Hundred-Dollar Baby" but other readers may find it lacking. It's a sequel of sorts to Ceremony, an earlier, gritty and thought-provoking Spenser book. "Hundred-Dollar Baby" is not as good as "Ceremony", but it's still a good, quick read. At this point, Parker can probably write the Spenser books in his sleep. The book is dialogue driven and much of the dialogue feels like it could be lifted from this book and inserted into any other Spenser book especially Spenser's conversations with long-time girlfriend Susan Silverman (as can his observations about her eating habits). I love the repartee between Hawk and Spenser, but all too often other characters exchange the same witty dialogue, so they all blur together as characters. The plot line with April is interesting, with some twists and turns and a surprising, if somewhat unbelievable ending. Long-time fans will enjoy seeing characters from other Spenser books turn up in this one including April, Patricia Utley, Eugene Corsetti, and Tedy Sapp. Parker's greatest strength is his ability to capture the streets of Boston in his writing and he again does it well in this book - I could picture the various streets and locations in my mind while reading the book.
"Hundred-Dollar Baby" doesn't break any new ground, but Spenser fans will still enjoy it.
Hundred Dollar Baby Spencer Book.......2007-09-30
good read, classic Parker/Spencer book. not his best but not bad at all and I certainly wouldn't turn it away. overall, I enjoyed it.

Customer Reviews:
Comprehensive book with great tips.......2007-05-06
Even though we recently had a Realtor walk through the house and make suggestions on minor improvements, I bought this book in case there were some things she didn't mention. The book is easy to read and nicely organized. It explains how to target your house to the buyers it will likely attract and how to how to look at your house from a buyer's perspective. It also includes a brief section on the selling process.
The book explains that a seller should make minor structural and cosmetic repairs, which any Realtor will tell you. But it has a handy checklist of all parts of the home to go through. It then delves into how to de-clutter and how to "stage" the house for selling. It also includes a checklist of things to do before anyone sees the house. As someone who has recently looked at several houses on the market to buy, I can attest there really is an emotional hook that some of this staging provides. These truly are inexpensive or free things (such as putting a bowl of fruit out, playing soothing music, etc.) that can subliminally attract a buyer. The suggestions are tailored to people with all budgets for fixing up before selling. It does not suggest major upgrades but suggests things like repairing broken bathroom tile as opposed to retiling the entire bathroom. Some of these things are no-brainers, but it was helpful reinforcement from what the Realtor said.
There is a section on how to market the home and explains estimated costs. It also explains what happens when the house is in escrow and what needs to be done in a short timeline. It explains how to keep the buyers motivated and calm while still getting what the seller needs out of the deal.
One of the best things about this book is that it repeatedly encourages the seller to put things into perspective. Yes, the idea is to sell the house as quickly as possible and make the most profit, but this book shows the pitfalls about haggling over $100 and how it can make prospective buyers walk away from a deal.
This book doesn't contain any miracle advice and some of the advice is obvious. However, it's an easy read and an inexpensive book that will probably end up helping sellers make more money at selling time. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to understand the real estate process and maximize profit without spending an inordinate amount of time or money.
I am not sure if I trust this guy.......2007-04-17
Here is Ready Set Sold! in one sentence: Make your house look like a model home before you put it on the market. That covers chapters 6 through 12, and is heavily emphasized in all of the other chapters as well.
Of course, making your house look like a model home probably means spending thousands. I know it's going to for me, even for my modest place. Corbett's mantra is that the more you do to make your house a model home, the more money you'll get when you sell it. The amount that you put into fixing the place up, with painting, new furniture if necessary, and a zillion other details large and small, will more than be made up for by the eventual selling price that you can command.
Hmmm...but is this really true? I don't know. I'm in California and everyone I talk to, including realtors, tell me that just about the ONLY thing that will command a higher selling price is a room addition (impossible for my house). Everything else is just wasted money. That doesn't mean you shouldn't clean up clutter and make sure things look nice and spiffy, but spending thousands of dollars on new furniture, cabinetry, and so on is unnecessary.
I'm not sure I buy into the gung-ho "It will cost more up front, but it'll all pay off in the end!" mantra that this book feeds you constantly. Welcome to hear any comments from people (especially in CA) that have actually followed this book to the letter and ended up with verifiable results.
One-Stop Selling.......2007-03-07
This is the ONLY book you'll need to sell a home sucessfully. Period. Corbett's blend of humor and personal stories make for a fun read, and he's got an enormous repertoire of ideas that will help you do exactly what the book promises: sell for the most money!
Great Handbook for Selling Your Home.......2007-03-07
This book is great and an easy read! It takes the mystery out of selling your home by explaining what to do and what to expect step by step from the beginning to the end.
I'm Sold on this book.......2007-03-06
Easy and inexpensive tips from this book can help you sell your home for more money and in less time. There are so many photos that show how to stage your home to make the first few minutes a buyer comes in to your home count!
Book Description
The dollar is in trouble. It has fallen against other currencies for the past three years, and now its orderly retreat could well become a rout. This spells potential disaster for the American economy—and potential riches for a few smart investors. In The Coming Collapse of the Dollar and How to Profit from It, financial gurus James Turk and John Rubino show how the dollar arrived at this precipice, why it will plunge, and how you can profit from the resulting financial crisis.
The U.S. today is the world’s biggest debtor nation, printing money with abandon to sustain the illusion of prosperity. The federal government owes $7 trillion and its debt is soaring. As a society, we owe more than $37 trillion, or about $500,000 per family of four. Our trade deficit with other countries is staggering, and to finance this mountain of debt we’re flooding the world with dollars. The inevitable result: The dollar will decline until it is displaced as the world’s dominant currency. Precious metals will soar in value, and gold will reclaim its monetary role at the center of the global financial system.
Traditionally a haven during times of uncertainty, gold has risen dramatically since 2001. By the fall of 2004 it was up by nearly 50
%, at over $400 an ounce. But this is just the beginning.
James Turk, a leading gold authority and the founder of GoldMoney.com, and veteran financial writer John Rubino, show readers how to capitalize on gold’s dramatic climb. In The Coming Collapse of the Dollar, Turk and Rubino reveal which stocks and bonds will falter as the dollar declines and why that decline is virtually inevitable. They offer strategies for using gold coins, gold stocks, gold-based digital currencies, and other hard assets to create a profitable portfolio. And they explain how to make the most of your gold and other precious metal holdings, identifying the opportunities and pitfalls of buying gold mining stocks and the mutual funds that invest in them.
America’s debt binge has put its economy at grave risk. The value of the dollar is falling; many stocks are once again wildly overvalued; and bonds, tied to an ever-diminishing dollar, are a disaster waiting to happen. By investing in gold and other hard assets, Turk and Rubino explain how you can protect yourself from these dangers.
The Coming Collapse of the Dollar and How to Profit from It is a must read for every investor, whatever the size of his or her portfolio.

Ignore this book at your peril.......2007-01-11
Our financial survival and prosperity depend on properly structuring our investment portfolios. Can you afford to idly stand by and witness evaporation of the purchasing power of your dollar-denominated paper assets? It is still time to protect the remainder of your assets by converting much of it to the wealth of ages, gold. Gold is wealth in itself, independent of debt and empty promises. This is no idle speculation, this is a concrete actionable set of plans suitable for different individual situations. You could spend 20+ times more on a financial consultant and still not receive this vital advice. Do yourself a favor: buy, read and act upon this book. Then share the message with your loved ones.
Read it!.......2007-01-07
Another great practical book on economics and investing for the common man. I learned so much about how things are now in America from this book. I recommend it heartily to anyone who wants to know more about gold, fiat money, the mess this country is in, and the doom that awaits us.
Coming collapse of the $.......2007-01-06
awesome book...I read it right after "Hot Commodities" by Jim Rogers...awesome book as well...US has alot of problems with the greenback and its possible demise as the worlds reserve currency...Jim has been talking about this as well for some time and is certain that the US will lose this status as the govt. busily prints money at will....devaluing the $ and killing its value, creating the real inflation problem...the book is very comprehensive in its argument and insightful in its recommendations...fast read!
Good Introductory Text.......2006-11-11
Overall, the author presents the case for a dollar collapse in moderate detail. Using gold as a protection mechanism is also well laid out. For the novice in this field of investment, which seeks to understand major economically destructive change before it occurs, this book does lay out the potential dollar problems nicely. For the more advanced student, there is not much new information here.
Book review of the coming collapse of the Dollar..........2006-11-10
It was quite informative but since we are in late 2006 it was a little outdated as they are comparing Gold prices from 2 years prior. But it was right on the money because as of their writing this Gold did rocket up to $600/oz from $300/oz so they were correct in their analysis. Very good read. I recommend it.

Customer Reviews:
Another great book by Robert T. Kiyosaki. .......2007-07-30
I found this more helpful than some of his other more recent books. It's not just a reiteration of his old information. It goes over some key points of his first book but hits on many things and mistakes he went through in his many businesses. He then applies the things he has learned and puts them in this book in ways which anyone can understand. There are some insightful tips from Sharon Lecter in here too.
A little too familiar.......2007-07-25
My cousin gave me this book on cd as a gift in preparation for my departure from the working world to full blown self employment. Despite what I thought were veiled messages from my cousin, I eagerly listened to this book. I'm not a big fan of books on cd because I have a hard time concentrating while just listening to them, but as soon as I put "Before You Quit Your Job" in I began thinking that I've read/heard this before. I've read Rich Dad, Poor Dad (and liked it) and I couldn't help but think that this book sounds an awful lot like it. I haven't really compared the "text" of the two since I've only listened to this book in the car, but I swear many, if not most, of the information and stories are repackaged from Rich Dad and possibly the other books in the series based on what others here have had to say about it. I don't feel as if I gained anything new from reading this book and I'm reluctant to read any of the others in the series after this. So, if you've never read any of the other books this might be worthwhile. If you have read the others, well, I don't know...this may be terribly redundant.
Good Book.......2007-07-02
This book provides a sound overview of the fundamental infrastructure that must be present for a business to be successful. As always, Mr Kiyosaki has done a good job explaining the basics of good business acumen in laymen's terms. He also explains some of the mistakes that he made during his career as a business owner to help readers understand some of the common pitfalls that can occur in running and building a business.
Great resource for small business owners!.......2007-05-09
This book was exactly what my small business needed. He lays out not only what is necessary to take it to the next level, but the potential pitfalls the authors have encountered. I'd highly recommend it for any small (or large) business owner.
A Must Read.......2007-04-01
Anyone who is serious about starting a business but have doubts should definitely read this book. Robert Kiyosaki walks you through the entire process of building a business from top to bottom. He gives you real life stories, successes and failures. I definitely recommend this book.

Customer Reviews:
Still reading this one.......2007-10-22
I got this one from the library and couldn't put it down so I brought it, not done yet, but so far I really like this book, really helpful.
Worth the Money.......2007-09-27
I remember 2 Minutes After I bought this book I regretted it, who would spend $24 on a book, about a mompreneur. Afterall I've read many like it and found them all to be elementary. Not this book, I will use this book like my entreprenuer Bible. She discusses so many things that many don't know about. I've bought Entrepreneur's Guide to Starting Your Own Business and I found myself dragging through it, because it was so dull but informative. This woman excites me on my journey, she gives me a flashlight so I can see the many obstacles facing any female entrepreneur. She helps women see that there are people who are out there ready to take advantage of a womans naiveness. Some of the information is basic like the patenting stuff, which I know a great deal about, but much of it is very interesting because she's actually gone through it and can tell you what she was faced with at each level of her business development. It is an inspirational story and a how-to guide wrapped in pink. If she can take an idea like wuvit to the next level and make a million dollars off of something as seeminlgy simple as popcorn wrapped in cotton, then surely I can do the same or better. Don't You Think!!!
Long awaited guide!.......2007-09-13
This is the long awaited guide I've been looking for! Its detailed and tells you exactly where to go to find the answer! The book is humours, amibitious, & motivating!
Has its flaws but good information.......2007-08-20
I'm a little torn on this book. It has its pros and cons.
Pros:
- Good information that can be used if you can digest it in a logical order.
- The author has a good story to tell, but I don't think this book did it justice.
Cons:
- If this book was edited, then the editor should be fired. The organization is horrible. There is no logical order to the way the information is presented and a lot of the information is repeated. It's very dry and I found myself only reading 2 to 3 pages at a time. I do not think this is the author's fault. Her publisher just didn't do a very good job preparing this book for the market. It's like they just tossed her random thoughts into the book without thinking it through first.
- Also, like the reviewer said below, this book is discouraging. Maybe she's trying to show you the reality of bringing your product to market, but her choices weren't always on target. There is a dose of negativity in her book that will probably scare some people away from starting their business. Don't be scared away. I recommend reading "Secrets of Millionaire Moms." I read that at the same time as this book and that book is inspiring and easy to digest.
All in all I think the author has a good story to tell and I am intrigued. She's just not a writer and probably got little help from her publisher. This book is not easy to read; it's almost like reading an IRS booklet. But it does have good info that can be used. Read it with an open mind and try to pass over the discouraging comments.
A riveting story, but actually DISCOURAGED me.......2007-07-16
I always thought the idea of owning a business would be great. I've dabbled on Ebay, with the whole intent being to stay at home and raise my kids while making money on the side. When I saw the title of this book it inspired me....maybe if I read it I could find some inspiration to start a business myself?
While the book itself is a good read (I didn't want to put it down!) I found the author's tenacity a bit scary. The product itself has limited potential....like a previous poster said, it's a fad product. Once everyone owns one, your income potential has pretty much dried up. The author fought really hard to make her business succeed by begging and borrowing, often at great personal risk. She often sacrificed time spent with family in her quest to make her business succeed. This to me represents the biggest conflict in her quest....the title "Mommy Millionaires" implies that this is something a Mommy can do "in her spare time" or when she isn't caring for her children. When in fact after reading this book I am more apt to believe the author traded in her time with her children FOR the business.....she even speaks about missing her children's birthday parties because she was too busy trying to promote her business.
I give this book 2 stars because it is a good read....but it misses its mark as an inspiration for other "mompreneurs". There are plenty of families out there who can successfully manage family and business. Moms shouldn't have to choose!

Helpful advice.......2007-05-07
In the author's own words, he goes to conferences and what-not, hoping to find just 1% of the material that helps him succeed - those hidden gems of knowledge. Is everything he talks about going to be 100% applicable and timely for you? No, but there's certainly enough "gems" in the book to steer you in the right direction. The discussions on delivering value as opposed to time are priceless.
Decent..........2007-04-06
Honestly, I was not terribly impressed with this book. After the first couple chapters, I nearly quit reading it. Part 1 of the book (the first 5 chapters) is written in such abstract terms that it was completely worthless to me. For instance, in a section on goal-setting he quotes the following as one of the best goals he has heard from a consultant, "We will undertake consulting assignments that result in direct contribution to the client's profitability as measured by quarterly results." Does this really tell anybody what the consultant actually offers to/does for a client? Quite frankly, if somebody ever approached me as a prospect and said something so bland and vague to me as an effort toward getting my business, I'd tune them out right from the get-go.
That said, he does give some decent advice for marketing (which is really the most important thing about any business, as we all learn at some point). He gives good information about how to successfully integrate speaking and writing into your business as both marketing tools and profit centers.
I'd say it's probably worth a read, but I'm really surprised by how many people rave about it so strongly.
A good read reguardless.......2007-02-12
There is a ton of information in this. If you want to be a consultant or think you may need one, read it, cover to cover. Might read tween the lines a bit :-). F&P Tech /consulting services

Covers the essence of Ron Carson's pathway to success. It is easy reading. Nicely laid out. Has summary after each chapter. Here's a practicing investment advisor who openly tells you how he does it, and still produces better numbers than any of his disciples AND ALL OTHERS in the largest independent broker/dealer in the country. If you are open to goal setting, and have strength in relationship building, this book is a powerful "how to" tool.
Excellent Book.......2006-08-31
I had already implemented much of what was suggested in this book, but to have my ideas validated has given me alot of confidence. I know it works, my business has increased revenues by 40% pa (profit 55% pa) over the last 3 years sticking to the core principles covered in this book.
This captures what is wrong with this industry.......2006-08-19
This book could be "A 9-Step Plan for Building and Sustaining a Million Dollar [insert name of industry here] Practice". It doesn't really talk of how to become a better financial advisor - just a financial advisor who is happy and who makes nice with clients.
This book could have been written by PT Barnum.
Where do I get the three hours of my life back that it took for me to read this?
hallem04.......2006-08-11
This book is a must for all advisors. It cuts through the mustard and gives sensible advice on how to position your practice. Of all the self-help business improvement books I've read it ranks in the top one or two.

This book was recommended to me by my boss. I read it in two days (which is extremely fast for my reading speed and schedule). After reading his copy, I've decided to buy my own copy on Amazon. The reason...
This book is like a movie that you could view time and again and still pick up something new from watching it. This book has too much information and ideas to just read once. I look forward to my re-readings!

Getting Started Right With Multi-Level Marketing........2004-10-15
Initially, I was excited about the material that I requested next day delivery! This material is certainly a great start or beginning for anyone new to MLM or wants to build a serious organization of like minded individuals.
MLM or Network Marketing will one day earn the respect that it deserves as more professional networkers multiply within the industry. Independence within the industry brings many without integrity giving the industry a bad name.
Folks, it is imperative to personalize your MLM business. Meaning do not rely solely upon the corporate replicated websites and other related materials to do the job for you. You must truly take an sincere interest in both the customers and your recruits. What will you personally do for them?
What kind of support will you personally provide for your recruits or prospects? Internet technology is great, but the personal relationships will always be what truly networking is all about. If the Internet technology was the only solution then the mlm companies would do all of the marketing themselves without the thousands of network marketers or distubors or independent reps, right?
Phil offers a great start for those interested in entering an exciting profession, thats right, "Profession" It will becomes the best profession one day as more professionals enter. I am just getting started and will become one of the greatest network marketers of all time because of my sincere desire to help others succeed and willingness to work hard! Work is not a dirty word especially when work is fun! (smile)
Worth every penny.......2002-07-28
I have paid hundreds of dollars to attend trainings and courses that were not nearly as good as this tape set. It comes with a great workbook to track your progress and develop the principles needed for success in MLM. I also love Dr. Rubino's book,"Secrets of Building a Million Dollar NWM Organization From a Guy Who's Been There Done That and Shows You How to Do It Too." Very thorough and enlightening.
A business and life-changing gift to networkers.......2001-08-31

The best part of this series is that the participant will grow personally by the end of the 10 weeks just by implementing the exercises given. This course is well worth the investment. Essential Shopping Guide.......2007-10-19
This shopping guide is thoroughly researched and easy to use. All of the many family and friends I've given copies to have found it unique and useful. When one of my sisters, who works for San Francisco MOMA, took her copy to work it was so well received the Museum decided to order it and carry it for sale in their retail store.
excellent effort and a great start for anyone with a concience.......2007-08-11
I loved this book. I use it constantly and recommend it for everyone! Wow, that corporation Altria that owns about a hunrdred familiar brands is so evil! I do wish it had more information on the comapnies it does list. And I would also have loved it if it included much more names than it did. I couldn't find most of the brands I'd like to know about in there. Still, it's better than no info and it's a great portable guide during shopping trips.
Green Living Easy.......2007-07-20
This book can help people who want to spend their money in the right direction toward environmentally conscious and socially responsible business'. It's easy, fun, self-fulfilling and educating.
Everyone needs one.......2007-06-30
This little book is the best thing I ever purchased. It makes it so easy to make informed shopping decisions so I can support the principles that are important for a company to have. It has opened my eyes to the business/corp. world to help me use my dollar to vote. It also offers lists such as where it is most important to pay attention to the grades (ex. choosing an "A" bank will have a greater impact than say an "A" brand deoderant). I an planning on buying a ton of these books as stocking stuffers this year for friends and family. Spread the knowledge!
