Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Has history been tampered with?.......2007-10-23
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RAZQNMXM4M9CL Has history been tampered with? Yes, it has! Did events and eras such as the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Roman Empire , the Dark Ages, and the Renaissance, actually occur within a very different chronology from what we've been told? Yes, they certainly did!
The history of humankind is both drastically shorter and dramatically different than generally presumed.
Why is it so? On one hand, it was usual custom to justify the claims to title and land by age and ancestry, and on the other the court historians knew only too well how to please their masters. The so called universal classic world history is a pack of intricate lies for all events prior to the 16th century. World history as we learn it today was entirely fabricated in the 16th-18th centuries. It's likely that nobody told you before, but
there is not a single piece of firm written evidence or artefact that is reliably and independently dated prior to the 11th century.
Naturally, after what you've learned in school and university, you will not easily believe that the classical history of ancient Rome, Greece, Asia, Egypt, China, Japan, India, etc., is manifestly false.
You will point accusing finger to the pyramids in Egypt, to the Coliseum in Rome and Great Wall of China etc., and claim, aren't they really ancient, thousands of years ancient? Well, there is no valid scientific proof that they are older than 1000 years!
The oldest original written document that can be reliably dated belongs to the 11th century!
New research asserts that Homo sapiens invented writing (including hieroglyphics) only 1000 years ago. Once invented, writing skills were immediately and irreversibly put to the use of ruling powers and science.
The consensual chronology we live with was essentially crafted in the 16th century by the Jesuits.
The world history was compiled from contradictory mix of innumerable copies of ancient Latin and Greek manuscripts and other irrefutable proofs delivered by late mediaeval astronomers that were cemented by the authority of writings of the Church Fathers.
Early in life, we learn about ancient history. Children love the magical lessons of history - they are like fairy tales. Teachers recite breathtaking stories; very soon We learn by heart the names and deeds of brave warriors, wise philosophers, fabulous pharaohs, cunning high priests and greedy scribes.
We learn of gigantic pyramids and sinister castles, kings and queens, dukes and barons, powerful heroes and beautiful ladies, emaciated saints and low-life traitors.
Ancient history is based documents, manuscripts, printed books, paintings, monuments and artefacts - called primary sources.
The problem is that neither these ancient documents, nor events described therein can be irrefutably dated, moreover they contradict each other for the most part.
When a school textbook tells us that Genghis Khan in year X or Alexander in year Y, have each conquered half of the world, it means only that it is so said in some of the written sources.
There are no answers to simple questions:
When were these primary sources written?
Where and by whom were these sources found?
It is wrongly presumed that ancient and medieval chronicles, written by Genghis Khan's or Alexander the Great contemporaries and eyewitnesses, are readily available. Actually, only sources written hundreds or even thousands of years after the events are there, compiled mostly in the 16th 18th centuries, or even later.
As a rule, these sources suffered considerable multiple manipulations, falsifications and distortions by editing. At the same time,
innumerable originals of ancient documents under various pretexts were destroyed in Europe under various pretexts.
The names of persons and geographical sites often changed meaning and location during the course of the centuries.
Geographical locations became clearly defined on maps only with the advent of printing.
This made possible the circulation of identical copies of the same map for purposes of the military, navigation, education and governance tasks.
Historians from Oxford say: "hey, everybody knows that Julius Caesar lived in the first century B.C.
`Julius Caesar' statement is only a point of view as
there is simply no irrefutable documentary proof that Julius Caesar or any other great name of antiquity ever existed.
Better than that - extremely rare sources that can be reliably dated back to the 10th-14th centuries A D, do not show the polished picture of classical history.
They show a picture both contradictory and confusing.
All methods of dating of ancient sources and artefacts are erroneous:
Radio-carbon C14 method produces dating with exactitude of plus minus 1500 years, therefore it is too crude for dating of events in historical timeframe!
The Almagest tractate, which lies as corner stone contemporary chronology, compiled in the 2nd century A D by Ptolemy, the founding father of astronomy, contains astronomical data of 9th to 16th century!
The Bronze Age,that has supposedly began 5000 years ago. Bronze is made of 90% copper and 10% tin, but the technology for tin extraction dates back to 14th century A D!.
All eclipses contained in manuscripts, like Thucydides one, relating 'ancient' events have exclusively medieval dating. All horoscopes cut in stone or painted in Egyptian temples, like Dendera have exclusively early medieval dating solutions.
Not quite what you have learned in school? Open your eyes, and, you will find sufficient proof to reach step by step the inevitable conclusion that the classical chronology is false and therefore, that the history of ancient and medieval world universally accepted today, is also false. Have a fresh outlook on everything said or printed about "ancient" and "enigmatic" Roman, Greek and Egyptian, medieval as well as all other "lost and found" civilizations.
Antiquity and Dark Ages are phantoms invented in the 16th 18th and polished in 19th 20thcenturies. Human civilization is in fact barely 1000 years old!
This book will change your perception of History forever!
What if Ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt were invented during Renaissance?
What if The Old Testament was a rendition of events of the Middle Ages?
What if Jesus Christ was born in 1053 and crucified in 1086 AD?
Sounds Unbelievable?
Not after you've read "History: Fiction or Science?" by Anatoly Fomenko, the genius mathematician.
Armed with astronomy and computers Anatoly Fomenko turns History into a rocket science.
Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

Beware the pedants - they are often wrong.......2007-02-17
I am the author's wife and I'm posting his review below...
Beware the pedants - they are often wrong
It is some time since I looked at the reviews of my book, and I am very grateful for the appreciative ones. However, there seems to be a feeling that the book is littered with errors. Not so. In so long a text, over 500 pages, a few were bound to creep in, but so far I have had to correct less than a dozen, all of them minor - and that includes errors pointed out to me in letters I have received from medieval historians and other specialists.A revised edition in the summer of 2008 will bring the whole story of fencing up to date, and have every error I have been informed about corrected.
One continuing charge is that I overrate Errol Flynn as a fencer and underrate Tyrone Power. Well, here I stick to my guns (or foils). My own coach, the supreme Hollywood swordmaster Bob Anderson (as detailed in the book), trained Flynn, and though Flynn was no great technician he was such a gifted sportsman (tennis champion, Olympic boxing try-out, you name it) that his fencing was remarkably convincing. Power, on the other hand, was overweight when making his so-called great Zorro film; in the key scene, he is often unbalanced, ill-coordinated and flat-footed. I say this not as someone out to 'get' Power, but simply as an international fencer of many years who knows sloppy fencing when he sees it. As for Basil Rathbone, he was much better, but still no more than an adequate club fencer - as many contemporaries attest. If someone tells you differently just don't believe them.
- Richard Cohen
In spite of the errors..........2007-01-26
I was sorry to hear about the historical errors in this book (without them 5 stars), but that doesn't take away from the quality of read. The best content in the book concerns the more recent history of fencing, anyway. Most notably the chapter on cheating in the sport and the portraits of such famous masters and competitors as Aldo Nadi, Emil Beck, and Helene Mayer. Mr. Cohen is a gifted writer and this book is a delight to read. I hope future editions of this book will make an effort to correct the mistakes, after which I will gladly add it to my library. A must-read for students of the sword.
Highly inaccurate.......2006-11-29
As some of the mistakes in this book have been listed, I will just deal with the Hollywood stuff, which is TOTALLY INCORRECT:
- Errol Flynn was NOT an accomplished swordsman
- Tyrone Power was an EXPERT swordsman who NEVER - read this - NEVER used a double. Basil Rathbone, also an expert swordsman, said "Tyrone Power could fence Errol Flynn into a cocked hat." Rathbone and Power's swordfight in "The Mark of Zorro" is considered the best ever filmed.
I have no idea where Mr. Cohen got his information, but I can personally attest that it is completely inaccurate and an insult to Power to boot, whose expertise was well known.
Bad book. Period.......2006-11-16
One more time, an anglo saxon writer took the chance to write a book where everything is justified thorugh anglo saxon eyes.
History is just a flow of events where only english (americans) or french had a role.
The book is pretty much full of historical mistakes, over than exposing everything always with the purpose to highlight the english, american (sic!) or french culture, maliciously dening or just ignoring other cultures (greater cultures) achievements.
Historically accurate but broad enough to cover Hollywood.......2006-07-18
I found this book useful for my research into the social context of fenching, for a book I was researching. It is well written and entertaining. Also enjoyed the breadth of coverage which includes chapters on "show" fencing such as Hollywood swash-bucklers.
Book Description
Spartacus, first published in 1933, is an inspiring and powerful account of the uprising of the slaves against the Roman Empire in 73 B.C., led by the gladiator Spartacus. For Karl Marx, Spartacus was "the most splendid fellow that all ancient history has to show; great general, noble character, real representative of the ancient proletariat." Gibbon´s knowledge is impressive, and the book is wonderful to read as fiction, as adventure, and as a history of people in the grip of exploitation and oppression.
Customer Reviews:
Amazing!.......2007-10-21
This novel is an amazing masterpiece of prose. I cannot praise this book enough! The opening scene is one of the most memorable and epic works of writing I have ever read.
Great read.......2007-03-12
I don't understand why this isn't at the top of the Spartacus search. The movie was adapted from THIS novel, why would anything be above it? Excellent novel, and a must-have for those who love history and/or historical fiction.
Absolutely Fantastic.......2006-07-16
I just finished reading this book. It was absolutely fantastic. The author's command of the English language...his use of imagery, metaphor, symbolism, foreshadowing..etc was made this book a joy to read.
Immensely rich.......2002-01-24
Lewis Grassic Gibbon (or James Leslie Mitchell) has written a novel of Spartacus that is as refreshing as it is clearly one of the forerunners of historical fiction. Opening through the eyes of the eunuch Kleon and his mission to find the heroic leader of the Slaves the novel centers more around Spartacus 'inner circle' and his relationship with Elpinice. Book I is told through Kleon and deals with the period up to the defeat after the Battle of the Lake. Books II and III with Spatracus' victories until we move towards the well-known and inexorable end on the Appian way at the hands of Marcus Licinius Crassus at the end of Book VI. The novel ends as it begins, with Kleon, and his crucifixion
The novel is well written, well-paced and pauses sufficiently to voice greater philospohical views than historical novels of the current generation. It is easy to see why this has been heralded as one of the great novels of its genre.
Customer Reviews:
Where's the epic?.......2002-08-14
I really wanted this book to be great. The fact that a movie like this one, with such scope and depth and beauty and struggle, was novelized in less than 250 pages, should have been a serious clue to me that I was wanting too much. This book is little more than a transcript; it is exactly, scene-for-scene, the movie (including the deleted scenes). Yet the writer fails to keep the reader in second-century Rome because 21st-century American phraseology continually creeps into his descriptions: "whipped to a frenzy," "cheering his head off," etc. Even some of the dialog has been "updated" for today's audience, including some of the most memorable movie lines: "The Emperor has been slain" becomes "The Emperor was murdered," and "Is this not why you are here?" is reduced to "Is this not why you came?" Converting "we shall" to "we'll" is simply insulting to the reader who loves this movie's sense of setting. Besides (and more importantly than) this, Mr. Gram writes with a choppy style that remains in third person objective for most of the story, rarely peeking into characters' minds and, therefore, never finding their hearts. The characters of this movie deserve a book that is rich both in historical detail and in emotional depth, but instead they got this, an ultra-quick read that reveals absolutely nothing new. The second star I gave it is for Maximus, because even when reduced to this level of shallowness, I still love him. The third star is for the first several chapters, which give sufficient detail of the opening battle sequence and even seem to promise a bit of character depth. After Marcus Aurelius's demise, however, the book's tentative promises and the author's writing skills die along with him.
A Great movie and a great book to follow........2001-08-22
This book is just as it is in the blockbuster that did welll at the box-office! A great writer who knows how to keep the pages turning! it even has movie scenes!
My Gladiator Review by rcxgirl.......2001-07-21
I think that this book is incredibly wonderful. After viewing he screen play, I was amazed. The writer of this, Dewey Gram, has a wonderful mind. Digging back into the past to Ancient Rome was just absoulutely incredible idea. When I saw this movie, I wanted to do it for a project at my school. My Independent Reading Program (IRP)I chose this book, then I did it for another major project which is Personal Project and I did Roman Gladiators and Colosseum and I think that the book is exceptionaly recomended for people with and interest in Ancient Rome and that have somewhat to an extensive vocabulary.
Russell Crowe is a sexy bitch........2001-07-16
I don't think I need to say any more than that.
Except that I saw Gladiator four times in the movie theatre, and I rarely see anything! And I bought this on DVD the moment it came out and have watched it many many times. And I bought the soundtrack as well, and I rarely buy film soundtracks (I think I have three). Loved it. Super movie.
Faithful adaptation from screenplay.......2001-05-17
Gram did a good job, with a merit: the book is fast-paced, well written, very joyful to read. I'm happy with it.

Violent, Lustful, Sexual Athletes.......2006-01-10
"Men of violence...Men of lust...The GLADIATORS were legendary as the sexual athletes of their age. ¶ 78 A.D. Paris, a seventeen-year-old runaway, is loved for his beauty by the wealthy young Egyptian Lucius and by Publius, a member of the Praetorian Guard. Although he is the son of a free man, Paris is sold to the gladiator school of Pompeii by Lucius' father, the ambitious merchant Diogenes. As a sex slave to the hulking warriors of the arena--more beasts than men--Paris is forced to submit to their sadistic lusts. Only by satisfying them will he gain the chance to train as a gladiator himself and win his freedom. ¶ Having matured into a skillful fighter, Paris is transferred to the Ludus Magnus, the great gladiator school of Rome, where he becomes one of the mightiest champions of the amphitheater. But here, in an age of sexual excess unequalled in the history of the world, Paris is drawn into the wild and violent life-style of a leading gladiator and risks losing everything he has fought for, including the man he really loves."--© zebraz
Good solid gay male erotica with a historical edge.......2001-11-20
I don't expect a lot when I get an erotica or porn book that is supposed to be set in a historical period. Far too often the writers are more interested on getting the reader off than on making the setting authentic. Whether something is porn or erotica doesn't really make a difference either in terms of historical accurracy. Ben Elliott does a fair job of making "Gladiator School" historically correct (aside from the fact that male-male sexual relationships would never been this public in ancient Rome) and of making this an erotic novel and not merely a pornographic adventure. The main characters grow and change, their personalities can be complex, and I think there is a good feeling for how some people in slavery may try and make the best of things. The male-male sex is hot but there is a lot of violence too.
Historical and Erotic.......2001-03-12
This is a great erotic story with lots of historical content. If you like roman history and feel not enough books cover the sexual part of it. Read this piece of fiction.

Book Description
In business and in life, we often find ourselves facing the same challenge Roman gladiators faced -- act or be acted upon.
In his new book, The Modern Gladiator, Hyrum W. Smith shows, through the powerful metaphor of the gladiator, how success today depends upon our training and tools, just as it did in the time of the Romans. To conquer his or her battles today, the modern gladiator must acquire training and experience as a shield and the tools of personal productivity as the short sword that was key to the rise of the Roman Empire. The Modern Gladiator will not only help you deflect the onslaught of today's life-overload but also take you to a higher level of balance and increased personal productivity.
The Modern Gladiator introduces some of FranklinCovey's products and services and how they can help you in the arena of life.

It doesn't give you any real information other than that you should buy all the other books from Franklin Covey or attend their seminars. If you are interested in this kind of stuff you are better off with First Thing First or What Matters Most. Also check out Getting Things Done by David Allen.
15% wisdom, 60% overdone analogies, and 25% advertising........2002-08-06
Hyrum Smith did have a couple of gems, such as "Learn to say NO!", in this CD audio book, but not enough to require two CDs. The gladiator analogy, although interesting from a historical perspective, is repeated too many times to be useful. He did demonstrate that he understood the effects of information overload, but really didn't offer much to counter it, other than a long sales pitch to buy the Franklin-Covey products.
Good idea, but..........2002-06-15
I liked the idea of the gladiator/free lancer profesionally trained soldier as modern worker and have read/listened to a couple of books using the same subject (Live Rich by Stephen Pollan was the best). Hyrum Smith has taken the topic and just ruins any thought of businessman/woman as warrior. It is bland as plain generic vanilla and not as motivational or informative as expected. The first CD was a re-hash of the Franklin/Covey books written before with some statistics about information overload thrown in and the second has about 15 minutes of usable information. I have read Hyrum's work before and honestly I expected better.
Here's the short version: 1. Life used to be much more simple. 2. Soldiers used to use long swords and shields until the romans introduced the short sword and shield. 3. Use whatever tools make you effective in business and check out my website to buy them. the end.
