Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Has history been tampered with?.......2007-10-23
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RAZQNMXM4M9CL Has history been tampered with? Yes, it has! Did events and eras such as the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, the Roman Empire , the Dark Ages, and the Renaissance, actually occur within a very different chronology from what we've been told? Yes, they certainly did!
The history of humankind is both drastically shorter and dramatically different than generally presumed.
Why is it so? On one hand, it was usual custom to justify the claims to title and land by age and ancestry, and on the other the court historians knew only too well how to please their masters. The so called universal classic world history is a pack of intricate lies for all events prior to the 16th century. World history as we learn it today was entirely fabricated in the 16th-18th centuries. It's likely that nobody told you before, but
there is not a single piece of firm written evidence or artefact that is reliably and independently dated prior to the 11th century.
Naturally, after what you've learned in school and university, you will not easily believe that the classical history of ancient Rome, Greece, Asia, Egypt, China, Japan, India, etc., is manifestly false.
You will point accusing finger to the pyramids in Egypt, to the Coliseum in Rome and Great Wall of China etc., and claim, aren't they really ancient, thousands of years ancient? Well, there is no valid scientific proof that they are older than 1000 years!
The oldest original written document that can be reliably dated belongs to the 11th century!
New research asserts that Homo sapiens invented writing (including hieroglyphics) only 1000 years ago. Once invented, writing skills were immediately and irreversibly put to the use of ruling powers and science.
The consensual chronology we live with was essentially crafted in the 16th century by the Jesuits.
The world history was compiled from contradictory mix of innumerable copies of ancient Latin and Greek manuscripts and other irrefutable proofs delivered by late mediaeval astronomers that were cemented by the authority of writings of the Church Fathers.
Early in life, we learn about ancient history. Children love the magical lessons of history - they are like fairy tales. Teachers recite breathtaking stories; very soon We learn by heart the names and deeds of brave warriors, wise philosophers, fabulous pharaohs, cunning high priests and greedy scribes.
We learn of gigantic pyramids and sinister castles, kings and queens, dukes and barons, powerful heroes and beautiful ladies, emaciated saints and low-life traitors.
Ancient history is based documents, manuscripts, printed books, paintings, monuments and artefacts - called primary sources.
The problem is that neither these ancient documents, nor events described therein can be irrefutably dated, moreover they contradict each other for the most part.
When a school textbook tells us that Genghis Khan in year X or Alexander in year Y, have each conquered half of the world, it means only that it is so said in some of the written sources.
There are no answers to simple questions:
When were these primary sources written?
Where and by whom were these sources found?
It is wrongly presumed that ancient and medieval chronicles, written by Genghis Khan's or Alexander the Great contemporaries and eyewitnesses, are readily available. Actually, only sources written hundreds or even thousands of years after the events are there, compiled mostly in the 16th 18th centuries, or even later.
As a rule, these sources suffered considerable multiple manipulations, falsifications and distortions by editing. At the same time,
innumerable originals of ancient documents under various pretexts were destroyed in Europe under various pretexts.
The names of persons and geographical sites often changed meaning and location during the course of the centuries.
Geographical locations became clearly defined on maps only with the advent of printing.
This made possible the circulation of identical copies of the same map for purposes of the military, navigation, education and governance tasks.
Historians from Oxford say: "hey, everybody knows that Julius Caesar lived in the first century B.C.
`Julius Caesar' statement is only a point of view as
there is simply no irrefutable documentary proof that Julius Caesar or any other great name of antiquity ever existed.
Better than that - extremely rare sources that can be reliably dated back to the 10th-14th centuries A D, do not show the polished picture of classical history.
They show a picture both contradictory and confusing.
All methods of dating of ancient sources and artefacts are erroneous:
Radio-carbon C14 method produces dating with exactitude of plus minus 1500 years, therefore it is too crude for dating of events in historical timeframe!
The Almagest tractate, which lies as corner stone contemporary chronology, compiled in the 2nd century A D by Ptolemy, the founding father of astronomy, contains astronomical data of 9th to 16th century!
The Bronze Age,that has supposedly began 5000 years ago. Bronze is made of 90% copper and 10% tin, but the technology for tin extraction dates back to 14th century A D!.
All eclipses contained in manuscripts, like Thucydides one, relating 'ancient' events have exclusively medieval dating. All horoscopes cut in stone or painted in Egyptian temples, like Dendera have exclusively early medieval dating solutions.
Not quite what you have learned in school? Open your eyes, and, you will find sufficient proof to reach step by step the inevitable conclusion that the classical chronology is false and therefore, that the history of ancient and medieval world universally accepted today, is also false. Have a fresh outlook on everything said or printed about "ancient" and "enigmatic" Roman, Greek and Egyptian, medieval as well as all other "lost and found" civilizations.
Antiquity and Dark Ages are phantoms invented in the 16th 18th and polished in 19th 20thcenturies. Human civilization is in fact barely 1000 years old!
This book will change your perception of History forever!
What if Ancient Rome, Greece and Egypt were invented during Renaissance?
What if The Old Testament was a rendition of events of the Middle Ages?
What if Jesus Christ was born in 1053 and crucified in 1086 AD?
Sounds Unbelievable?
Not after you've read "History: Fiction or Science?" by Anatoly Fomenko, the genius mathematician.
Armed with astronomy and computers Anatoly Fomenko turns History into a rocket science.
Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
Book Description
Dan Broderick was one of California's most successful attorneys; his wife, Betty, a beautiful socialite. But when Betty discovered Dan's hidden life, the façade of LaJolla's golden couple was shattered. What followed was a vicious five-year battle that finally ended in a shocking double-murder.
A Harvard Law School graduate, Dan manipulated the law to strip Betty of everything she loved: her home, her friends - even her children. When she frantically tried to fight back, he had her committed to a mental hospital. His new wife, Linda, even sent the once-beautiful Betty wrinkle cream ads and weight loss pamphlets.
Consumed by hatred and thoughts of revenge, Betty's rage exploded on the night of November 5, 1989. Before the sun rose the next day, Dan Broderick and his gorgeous new wife were dead - their bullet-riddled bodies wrapped in the blood-soaked sheets of their bed.

Hell hath no fury ..........2007-07-10
Betty Broderick. Where oh where to start with this case? This was a murder case that spoke to us on so many levels, made us all shake our heads, turn our noses up, and secretly fear our own insecurities and what we are capable of.
Betty and Dan were high school / college sweethearts, who started off with such hopes and dreams that they would have a wonderful life together. Their family started almost immediately after they married (their first of 5 children arriving nearly 9 months to the day they married). Dan went to medical school and later law school while Betty raised the kids and did the primary bread winning as a school teacher. Once Dan had completed his education, he accepted a job with a California law firm and they moved to the west coast. From there he began to build his career to become one of the most successful and wealthiest men in town, and Betty could quit working to dedicate all her time to her kids.
It wasn't, however, a fairy tale. Dan and Betty's relationship was troubled from the beginning. They would eventually divorce, and it was anything but a peaceful affair. Betty went from being a "normal person" to a pathetic, psychotic hysteric. Dan began to cheat with Linda, and would eventually marry her. Betty's hysteria went from reasonable to destructive (driving her car through the front door of the house which got her thrown into a psych hospital, for example). It all came to a head when she bought a gun, snuck into her ex husband's house one morning, and shot both him and Linda while they slept. Now she's behing bars.
It's so hard to take sides in something like this. You see so clearly what Betty wanted and what was taken away from her. Yet you also see what Dan wanted, and what was taken away from him. Not to mention Linda. And the kids. And their friends, and their families. So many marriages start off so innocently and with such hopes, and so many end so bitterly. Where are those two people who were so in love once in the wedding pictures? Their partnership fell apart. But then again, as I have seen, the majority of people I have seen marry never should have. They were not right for each other. And sometimes we have to realize that and leave the marriages. It's when one doesn't want to that you will get a crazy story like this. Divorce is never pleasent, that's for sure, and you will face terrible times as you realize you have just had the rug ripped out from under you. But, have some dignity. If not for yourself, for your family and friends.
And, Betty, as far as I am concerned, has a genuine element of evil in her. I understand her sense of despair, her jealousy of the other woman, etc., but she has caused such chaos. It would not could not end until someone died. Dan and Linda had to die before Betty's rage was satisfied. To this day she has expressed no remorse over the fact that the both of them are dead. She says "Dan wanted me dead, but I'm alive". Alive to rot in prison, alive to have lost everything, and alive to be a sad joke to many.
There are No Winners Here! Just Losers!.......2007-06-12
I first saw the television film adaptation which was pro-Dan and Linda all the way. They never showed Dan and Linda bad-mouthing Betty. In the film, Betty was portrayed brilliantly by Meredith Baxter but she played her as a demented, sore loser who never got over losing Dan, her man. In the book, we read more about Betty's feuding which was more like a World War and Dan's indifference to his former wife's well-being. He tossed her aside when he found a suitable replacement like hiring and firing but Betty didn't go easily or ever. She was obsessed with Dan and Linda and defeating them no matter what the cost. The book dispels that Dan was a wonderful husband and father only when he was forced too by Betty dumping the kids off one by one. Betty was smart, attractive, and wittier than some of the most professional comedians according to one of her close friends. She discharged by her husband rather because he decided to have a younger model and version. Now, I don't condone Betty's actions when she shot and killed them in their sleep. Of course if I was Linda, I would run away as fast as I could. Yes, you're in love but look at his first wife. I don't understand why Dan disowned his daughter Lee Gordon Broderick upon his death maybe for siding with Betty over Dan. Dan never liked to lose in life but he lost in death. There is a website where you can't leave flowers and notes on Dan and Linda's graves because it has been misused. That blockage is usually reserved for dictators and serial killers. I think Linda was in way over her head when she married Dan not seeing this coming and thinking that Dan could save them both. I remember in the film where a senior secretary played by Debra Jo Rupp warned Dan about how to treat people fairly when she saw Linda rise above her. It was a poignant moment in the film and maybe showed a side of Dan's egotism that he can handle everything. Like I wrote, there are no winners from this situation. I feel sorry for the children the most for suffering through the loss of their father, stepmother, and their mother's role in their murders.
Betty.......2005-12-07
This book was ok but not near as good as until the twelfth of never. that book really gives you more of an inside look into the life of Dan and Betty Broderick. This book is a quick read if you are looking for a light read on the story and not a lot of details.
One of The Lighter Books,Another Quick Read.......2005-09-29
I feel like a professional as far as this case goes. LOL I have stated before that after seeing the totally pro Dan and Linda movie (The Betty Broderick Story) I started reading and watching everything about this case, including the court tv show, A&E Justice Story, MNCBS Headliners etc...While I will grant that Betty murdering them was over the top, some of the stunts of Dan and Linda were over the top too. You also have to keep in mind that Dan was the one whose "friends" were the lawyers and judges, not Betty. In spite of friends saying she could have gone to another county to find a lawyer, it really was not as easy as all that. The woman was completly blind-sided by this man she had worked so hard for. It truly was a sad, sad story. This book was quick, but did not have many details and certainly not reserched as the book by Bella Stumbo was. It was okay and added maybe a little more insight to the case but not much.
WOW!!! Real life drama.......2005-08-29
I became introduced to this case through court TV and many documentaries, and all I can say is WOW!!!! No matter what you feel about the victims or Betty, you have to feel for the children who were put through this. I was heartbroken while reading this book. It has the same feel of the book I read for the movie "Goodfellas" and you do sort of feel caught up in the mess. It's sad really, but it's a teaching lesson if you look it at in a positive light.
Book Description
This is the outrageous story of how Hawkeye went from flying combat missions in Vietnam to smuggling dope by the boat and plane load into the U.S. from Colombia. His amusing reflections of his adventures and misadventures offer a vivid and accurate portrayal of the drug-smuggling world of the late 1960s and 1970s, with its colorful cast of war heroes, dealers, middlemen and addicts.
Customer Reviews:
Adventure & excitement in the post vietnam smuggling culture.......1999-12-20
Set back in the heyday of drug smuggling, before it became organized and much more deadly, Hawkeye's book is a must for anyone who just enjoys stories of action, adventure, humor and nail biting suspense. Part autobiographical and part how-to, Mr. Gross introduces you to a host of characters that Hollywood would salivate to weave a story around, from a hot headed, often times bizarre leader to a dentist with no teeth. The early chapters are a bit slow but neccessary to set the stage for post vietnam personalities. Once they got the planes in the air and the boats on the water, Gross delivers a definate page turner. Before heroin and coke turned smuggling into a dirty subject and a very deadly pastime, with crack-heads, drive-bys and the infiltration of drugs into our schools, there was a subculture of happy hippie marijuana smokers and the adventurous, sometimes half-crazy sugglers who brought the product in. Hawkeye makes great efforts to portray the smuggling life as, in short, quite fun, but full of misfits, misorganization and miracles, the miracles being any decent marijuana entering the country at all. A very fun week and a half of reading. Suspend your judgement on what laws they may have been breaking or what criminals they may have been and just enjoy the adventure of it all. Ranks right there with Jerry Kamstra's Weed. Well done, Mr. Gross.

The times they are a-changin'--again. By the year 2020, people over 60 will account for 25 percent of the American population. Using this statistic as a departure point, Theodore Roszak speculates on the effects of such a demographic shift both on the nation's pocketbook and, more importantly, on its psyche. A long-time evangelist for the "baby boomers," Roszak basically argues in America the Wise that those born between 1946 and 1964 compose a great collective asset to the country, and their social value will only increase as its members move into their twilight years. Crowning them the "New People," Roszak proclaims them to be "the first generation of the senior dominance ... possessed of more political influence, greater wealth, and more vitality than any older generation before us." If in their youth the boomers were energetic, idealistic, and outspoken, then they are now compassionate, wise, powerful, and--thanks to modern medicine and a longer average life span--soon to have plenty of free time on their hands. Time which will be spent performing good deeds, according to Roszak's silver ball. Predicting nothing less than the dawn of a new social ethic of altruism and hope, he proclaims that "the longevity revolution ... may one day be seen as an environmentally imperative stage in the history of our society." Looks like they didn't miss their chance to save the world, after all.
Refuting a spate of recent studies nervously claiming that young people will be burdened by their aging parents even as their own Social Security dries up, Roszak concludes that older boomers will actually support their underemployed children monetarily, as well as provide other valuable services, such as caring for grandchildren while the parents work. An adamant defender of senior entitlements, he insists that the current Social Security program is not in the throes of a crisis nor heading for an inevitable meltdown. Even if left alone, he points out, the system would remain solvent through 2032; with a few subtle tweaks and refinements, Social Security should suffice well into the next century.
America the Wise is more concerned with ethics and cultural values than concrete policy proposals and economics. As a result, portions of the book read like a sentimental self-help guide to living a full life after retirement. Though his moral high-ground stance and feel-good rhetoric can be tiresome, Roszak does offer many compelling ideas on a wide range of topics, including corporate culture, advertising, biotechnology, family life, and an observant take on American youth. In all, his vision is to be admired, even if he oversimplifies at times. If, as Roszak writes, "The future belongs to maturity," then the coming revolution should prove a gentle one indeed. --Shawn Carkonen
Book Description
Theodore Roszak, the author of the international bestseller THE MAKING OF A COUNTER CULTURE, returns to investigate the baby boom generation as it prepares to join the ranks of our society's rapidly growing senior population. America the Wise will ignite a nationwide debate that promises to transform our most fundamental ethical and cultural values as well as our economic and political priorities. Roszak argues that the emergence of senior dominance (in numbers, wealth, and political power) will force Americans to rethink their basic attitudes toward death and dying, competition and compassion, wealth and well-being. He mounts a compelling defense of senior entitlements and envisions a society in which the ability to prolong productive and fulfilling lives is regarded as a paramount historic achievement rather than an inconvenient fiscal problem. AMERICA THE WISE provides an insightful look at the changes that await America in every walk of life, from the mass media and business to family life, from our obsession with the cult of youth and consumer culture to sexual and gender relations. Roszak calls upon the newly emerging ranks of our senior population to establish a society based not on the survival of the fittest but on wisdom, compassion, and the survival of the gentlest.
Customer Reviews:
A Great Introduction To The Graying Of America!.......2000-06-12
This is bound to become a provocative & well-debated title; Roszak takes a broad-based series of well-aimed salvos at the conservative "Cassandras" who seem to be confusing the historical elderly dependencies of the past as indicative of what the new elderly composed of the aging baby-boomer generation will become. Nonsense, says Roszak, who argues persuasively that unlike their parents and grandparents, the baby-boomers will compose a revolutionary new social, economic and political force to be reckoned with in their seniority.
Given the considerable evidence of the new prosperity the "sixties" generation enjoys, and the likelihood that they will increasingly enjoy better health, more free time, and better opportunities to energetically express themselves than any previous elderly population in history, Roszak sees them as becoming a potent new force in American society, a force that can be usefully harnessed to the benefit of contemporary culture. Given the sheer numbers of the "new" elderly posed to find themselves at loose ends in the next 20 years, and the fact that the demographics of contemporary society are being altered in favor of greater proportions of older citizens (the so-called "graying of America"), it is hard to argue with much of what Roszak describes.
Certainly, as a recent early retiree myself, I can attest to the veracity of many of the points he makes in terms of my own situation. At age 53, I hardly see myself as slowing down, or as continuing my former ways in terms of concentrating on a career based primarily on what one ordinarily refers to as economic considerations. In short, I am looking forward to greater involvement in the community, in making substantial personal contributions in terms of time and energy to social issues I am concerned with, and to being more of a resource for family and friends. According to the author, I will not be alone. Tens of millions of my post-war baby-boom generation will soon be smiling beside me.
Of course, many critics point out that Roszak has made a long, illustrious career out of chronicling the baby-boomer generation, and that many of his previous notions weren't accurate. Yet for anyone taking the time & energy to read either "The Making of a Counterculture" or "Where the Wasteland Ends" will find that his writing was perceptive, prescient, & insightful. Here, too, he debunks the ideas of conservative nay-sayers like Peter Peterson ("Gray Dawn"), who claim the coming crush of retiring baby-boomers will mean hard times for younger Americans in particular & a troubled economic burden for America in general.
"Bosh!" claims Roszak, who points out that the new elderly have more material resources, are better educated, & are much more likely to continue to be gainfully employed after retirement than were their parents or grandparents. Indeed, given the booming economy associated with the digital revolution & the fact that many baby-boomers have unique expertise in the information industry, the "sixties" generation is much more likely to be in a favorable economic situation that any preceding generation of elder citizens. In fact, Roszak believes that they will be of continuing assistance to their children and grandchildren in helping them to continue to live the `good life' they have become accustomed to.
Finally, the author provides a great deal of evidence and logic in arguing that the coming new generation swell of elderly citizens will be potentially the single most positive social, political, and economic force of the new millennium. This is a slim but significant book, one that provides a number of perceptive cultural insights (e.g. Roszak's description of contemporary youth lost to apathetic and petty diversions in the electronic arcades our culture is devolving into is terrific), & offers a number of ideas for serious discussion & contemplation. I heartily recommend it for any serious student of the social scene. Enjoy!
A Progressive Tomorrow.......1999-02-14
Theodore Roszak's writing is just as inspiring as it was in the 60's with "The Making of the Counter Culture." This man has his thoughts honed in on the pulse of our generation---the baby boomers. No one chronicles the trends of our generation better.
His thesis that as the baby boomers grow old the political spectrum will move to the left is fascinating and gives hope to this reader. His thesis is borne out by the fact that more of us are going to be dependent on the "entitlements" programs of the federal government. He goes on to postulate that because the Republicans traditionally oppose these programs, the body politic will move significantly into the Democratic party and in favor of more social programs.
Theodore Roszak has brought hope to this reader that we can look forward to a more progressive tomorrow. In spite of current trends like "charter schools" ,"vouchers", Kenneth Starr etc.... there is hope for a new tomorrow!

Book Description
Have you ever looked back on an experience and thought, had I only known, it would all have turned out differently? In this inspiring book of life lessons, journalist Joe Kita asked men in their autumn years what they wish they had known 30 years ago. In the process, he gained a harvest of wisdom from the older generation, including their insights on war and peace, marriage and family, working and playing, setbacks and triumphs, and insights shared by such men as a world-class doctor, a record-holding sprinter, and even a man who traveled to the South Pole with Admiral Byrd. The result of these conversations is this thoughtful compendium of interviews and quotes on everything from courage to sex to fame.

Delivering Promise.......2005-06-11
Joe Kita's book is an oyster overflowing with pearls. I harvested this one slowly, because it is clear how precious each one of them is. Wisdom of Our Father's does what other books try to do: it delivers on the promise of its title. Kita's essays about heroic men, deeply personal insights about his own father, and his courageous claims about what he knows team up with beautifully edited and organized information from fathers of all walks of life. And the true beauty of it is that the messages are universal. If you don't get this for your own dad for Father's Day, get it for yourself. Or your mom, wife, friends... Wisdom of our Fathers succeeds. It is a pleasure to read from endpaper to endpaper.

Awesome.......2003-06-06
All around great book. I highly recommed it. I lost my first copy and had to buy another. This and Jimmy the bartenders book and a great combination.
I never thought to ask.......2001-04-19
Every once in a while you read something that has a profound inpact on your life's perspective. This has got to be one of those reads. The questions here are those that you never ask but wished you had. I bought this for my father and many other men in my life, because after I read this I realized that, These are the questions that you should ask but few ever do. It's well worth the price.
Fine, fine job.......2000-05-14
Lots of little, digestible bits that you'll wish you could remember. I'd love to give the book to a friend, but then I wouldn't have it as a reference. Mr. Kita's description of a bike-riding trip he and his father went on is a great two-page essay. It's May 2000 and I'm surprised I hadn't heard of the book until now (maybe that's more me than the book). I'm thinking I'll be photocopying bits and pieces of this book for years and passing them on to friends as their various crises hit. A very, very good father's day gift.
Inspiring book for men of all ages -- fathers or sons.......1999-06-16
There's a scene in the movie City Slickers where Jack Palance tells Billy Crystal that the secret to life is just "one thing." I feel like this book is a list of hundreds of that "one thing" you wished you had learned from your father or things that you should teach your sons.
You feel like you're in the garage, or on the ball field, or at the dining room table having a one-on-one conversation with a bunch of great fathers. The great thing is that it's not celebrity wisdom -- but advice from everyday fathers you probably have never heard of. It's almost like you're talking to the man down the street who always seemed to know everything, or the grandfather you never knew.
I also like that the book moves very quickly. You get one piece of advice, then move to the next one. (Which makes it ideal for bathroom reading.) Even if you don't agree with something, chances are that every one or two entries, you'll find something that inspires you, teaches you, or reinforces something you've always believed. What's best, though, is that you'll probably find one piece of advice or one quote that changes the way you talk to your fathers or sons, or even changes the way you live.

Interest in the work of the early 19th century French political theorist Louis de Bonald has increased in recent years, due in part to renewed concerns about policies for promoting and sustaining the goods of marriage and the family. This collection of Bonald's essays, translated by Christopher Blum, will introduce readers to Bonald's thought with respect to the key areas of Catholic Social Teaching.

In examining the still-unsolved 1975 murder of 15-year-old Martha Moxley in a wealthy suburb of Greenwich, Connecticut, first-time author Timothy Dumas does not attempt to deliver a knockout punch of new evidence that might crack the case wide open. Instead, Dumas takes his readers on a literate excursion through the darkest secrets and fears of the girl's neighbors and fellow townspeople as they attempt to cope--first with the murder itself, and then with the helplessness of almost a quarter century of frustration as the case remains unsolved.
It's not that most people in town don't have any clue who performed the crime, Dumas shows, but that a moat of distance lies between the killer and those who would punish such a crime, a distance mainly built on the power, money, and political connections of the wealthy Skakel family, related by marriage to the Kennedys.
Dumas weaves a spellbinding tale, cut in the mold of Truman Capote's In Cold Blood or, more recently, John Berendt's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Fans of those works will almost certainly enjoy this evocative and finely constructed story as well. --Tjames Madison

not good.......2006-06-27
Not at all like the movie based on the true story written by Mark Fuhrman. I was expecting some familiar link and there was none. Tom Dumas is not a true crime writer, my friends.
Beautifully written.......2006-04-17
This is my favorite book on the tragic Moxley case. Dumas writes about a sad case in an absolutely beautiful way, causing me to tear up many times. His story reminds me of an episode of "Cold Case". It is written with great sensitivity. Contrast that with the Furhman book, which is written in a very matter-of-fact style, without much emotion, and is more like an episode of "CSI," complete with gory details. Dumas leaves out the extreme gore, which is refreshing. However, Dumas also leaves out some of the horror of the crime, such as what Michael Skakel did while standing over Martha's body. You might not hate Skakel nearly as much after reading the Dumas book as you would after reading the Fuhrman book. Still, if you want to read a *story*, written in excellent prose, rather than reading a mere "lab report" (which is how I would describe the Fuhrman book), then I would heartily recommend Dumas's book. It also includes a number of touching photos of Martha's childhood and family life. I hope this book has not gone out of print-- it deserves to stay in print forever!

Haedline: BOOK HITS AT SKAKEL
BODY:
KENNEDY cousin Michael Skakel confessed to being covered in blood on the night his pretty 15-year old neighbour was nurdered, a bombshell new book claims.
Skakel who is currently appealing against his life sentence for the brutal slaying of Martha Moxely, is said to have made the comment to a counselor at a reform school in Poland, Maine.
In the book "Conviction: Solving the Martha Moxely Murder" by Leonard Levitt, Skakel's priest, Rev Mark Connolly, says "The counsellor said Michael told him there was blood all over the place."
Levitt's book could not come at a worse time for the 43-year old Skakel, whose appeal is due to be heard in Connecticut in the next few months.
Skakel, the nephew of assassinated US Senator Robert F Kennedy, was convicted in 2002 of beating Martha to death with a golf club in Greenwich.

More than a crime book!.......2003-05-23
This book had me up through the night reading! I literally could not put it down. But, even though the pace was like a fighter jet, it was the insights into the town and its people -- the wealth, greed, and circling-the-wagons mentality -- that made it special. The author gave us so much more than the case itself. By the time I was done I felt as though I had known the girl, as though I had visited many of the same places, had been snubbed by some of the very same people. The author made me see and feel everything! By contrast, afterwards I picked up Mark Fuhrman's book, and was astounded at the emptiness of the text -- that book was so embarrassingly bad and self-serving I could not finish. I would recommend A Wealth of Evil to anyone interested in a great read and a stirring social commentary.
BORING!!!.......2003-02-06
I read Mark Fuhrman's "Murder In Greenwich" before reading this book, but I don't think it would have made a difference. There's just one word for this book...BORING! I actually had to struggle to get through the book.

A catalyst for economic prosperity.......2007-05-27
Spiritual Economics is a well written book in the form of Christianity called "New Thought". I found the book quite inspiring. Prosperity and abundance are at the core of this book, however, it is not limited to economic prosperity. This book has led me to read other great books from similar writers. I read this book a few months ago and I have already set it aside for a second reading. I highly recommend it.
Pleasure to read.......2007-01-13
This book was a required text for a class occuring in my church - "The Abundant Life." For those seeking spiritual growth, it is a must read. It is an easy read, and teaches practical, powerful practices to advance one spiritually.
A MUST read.......2006-07-28
This book is the best book I've ever read thus far connecting spirituality with financial abundance. I am currently on my second-pass through it and as I read the words, it reminds me that WE ARE NOT VICTIMS of what's going on "out there" to determine our successes and failures. It's all determined by our thoughts, beliefs and perceptions. This book will speak to your soul.
Prosperity.......2006-02-24
Overall this is the best text I have read which covers in a practical way the spiritual and material aspects of prosperity. The bottom line is that it works.
Another must have from Eric.......2006-02-08
A simple, straightforward and hopeful book on prosperity. A good "early read" in this genre.

"Success without side effects" is the ultimate destination of every human being, and True Prosperity is the roadmap for getting there.

Nothing new here.......2007-07-30
I was a little disappointed in this book. Whilst it has all the basics covered, it did not bring any new or fresh information on manifestation and simply reiterated alot of what is in the Kaballah teachings without any new perspective or insight. I felt that it contradicts a few of the current (fabulous) books available on this subject such as Esther and Jerry Hicks teachings of Abraham - Ask and it is Given which is the best book I have ever read on this subject.
All in all I felt that this little book was written to "get on the bandwagon" rather than produce a reference guide to prosperity.
Give it the test!!!!!!!.......2007-06-12
Not bad, not necessarily new either, but let it work on you. The first day of reading it things happen and you feel and percieve different!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you live in Brooklyn, this guy Berg is like an Old Hasidic Rabbi, or Bach la Hai dropping some "jewels"(wisdom) on you on a subway, may not seem like much when you hear it, but hey, that deep stuff sneaks up on you!!!,
and like your not on easy street, hey baby You are on the RIGHT PATH and easy street is were ever you place your foot!!!!!
Soulful Soup.......2007-01-10
An excellent book for ... anyone who wants to understand what prosperity is all about. Wealth is the Light within, and this book ascertains what Great Books have propagated - Apply the rules of Light {Torah/Bible/Qur'aan}, and you'll get there. A great motivational book to give as a gift to your favourite employee, yourself, or the disciple you're coaching. It also guides modern-day entrepreneurs in dealing with Wealth reality.
Yehuda writes beautifully in all his books!
Great book for a beginner.......2007-01-06
I'm not so much a beginner that is why i was a bit disapointed, but if you are this is a good place to start
Berg shows you how you can have it all!.......2006-11-28
Heard the CD version of TRUE PROSPERITY by Yehuda Berg, a
rabbi committed to the teaching of Kabbalah--the world's oldest
body of spiritual wisdom . . . the book's subtitle says it all:
SUCCESS WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS.
Berg attempts to show you how this can be done, so that you
can have it all; i.e., happiness doesn't have to bring about
failures in other parts of our lives . . . and that is one of the
best things about TRUE PROSPERITY . . . it applied not
only to money, but to health and fitness, family and
relationships, and lifelong spiritual growth.
I'm not sure that I learned very much about the Kabbalah, yet that
was OK with me . . . what I did learn were such valuable insights
as the following:
* Goals aren't enough. You have to continually seek more, such
as when you've attained your goal.
* Fear stands for False Evidence Appearing Real.
* Things get worse if you don't take care of them.
* When we focus on what's important on our list, we get the job
done. Yet when we focus on what's not important, we will
never get anything done.
* We should really seek what we need, not just on what we want.
What we went isn't what we really need.
* Agenda-giving isn't truly giving. Truly give. Don't expect anything
back in return.
My only criticism of this informative program was that it was
delivered by the author . . . his voice was a bit grating . . . here is one
case where having a professional narrator would have helped.
