This book doesn't give enough information about how and what negative items to dispute on your credit report to raise your credit score.
This is a good "how-to" book........2007-07-15
This book is informative and helpful for readers looking to improve or repair their credit. Although, do not be mislead with the title, this product is not a "quick-fix" for your credit troubles.
I found the information to be helpful and informative and the response letters well written all of which are helpful with achieving your goals of good credit.
Practical and Useful.......2006-08-19
This book is wonderful for someone with no knowledge of credit. It walks you through the entire process. Recommended!

Great info!.......2007-08-12
As some others have mentioned, most of the information in this book is available for free. However, for the price, having useful, effective information like this in an easy to use format is well worth it.
Very Little Useful Information .......2007-04-30
This book provided very little information thats is not already available for free. Do a search on credit repair or credit reporting and you will get all the information you need on the internet.
The entire credit reporting act was quoted. Rather than a useful interpretation, the reader is left to go through 50+ pages of legaleze. BTW, the law is public, therefore can be found without buying the book -- which adds no additional value.
Credit Repair 7th edition.......2006-04-10
I found this book to be very informative and helpfull. I have used it has a guide in helping repair my own credit. I recommend it to many.
This book is not getting enough Credit!!!.......2004-05-19
This book was so helpful, I just can't uderstand the bad reviews! Thanks to Credit Repair I've gone from being up to my ears in debt to having near perfect credit! Of course this kind of result isn't going to happen over night, any one who tells you otherwise is lying or doing something illegal. THERE ARE NO LEGAL QUICK FIXES!!! I've tried many different methods to improve my credit but following the advice in this book is the only one that worked for me. It even contains a CD-ROM with pre-made forms and letters that help to make the process as easy and painless as possible. Credit Repair was worth every cent!
Helped Me Too.......2003-03-03
I used this book and cd, in 1 day my credit score went up after I disputed several items

Disappointed.......2007-10-22
I found the book to have only basic information that I had already read on my own from the internet. It didnt give you any insight to anything. You can get this information for free. You dont need to buy the book
Not really happy with this book!.......2007-09-24
I was really excited about learning what the credit industry doesn't want you to know. I was very disappointed when I finished the book. Basically, everything that was in the book is common knowledge. I didn't find any thing new by reading this book. I am reading another book that is similiar that does have information that I was unaware of. So there are books that are helpful out there, just not this one!
I was disapointed.......2006-06-03
The book rambled and got off track often. I would have liked more practical and useable information.
Valuable Information.......2005-11-17
This book provides good insight into credit, how we get our credited reported and how to make changes to our credit report.
It gives you simple instructions to follow and even samples letters to use.
Good information to have whether or not you have credit problems. In this day and age with all the identity theft everyone should know the info in this book to repair any misinformation on their reports.
Great Book.......2005-10-17
Very helpful to consumers. Easy to read and understand. Now I know my rights. Highly recommend.

The prductr was exaclty as described. The price was good and the delivery timely. The binding is lacking and not likely to stand up to the day to day use of a practicing bankruptcy attorney.

Customer Reviews:
I Think This Book Is Great!.......2004-11-30
There are three great books on the market today and I say don't shop around any more. The two best bankruptcy books on the market have been written by women. I purchased Peggy Palm's book first and found it very informative and insightful. I'm attempting to the stop foreclosure of my home. I then purchased Tiffany Love's book, surviving financial disasters, to get the bankruptcy forms on CD Rom and then learned that she too filed for bankruptcy and included her legal pleadings. If you want to stop foreclosure, get Ms. Love's book for sure as it is "hands on", but I find myself frequently referring back to the information in Peggy's to gain an additional perceptive. Money Troubles is another great book that provides wonderful information and exceeds the scope of Peggy's book, because it covers everything inside and out of bankruptcy, like Tiffany's book. Which some people I think may find too technical, but if you're doing battle like I am with creditors the information is right on target. All three will cost you less than $100 far less than an attorney's consultation fee. My verdict: Peggy's book for the legal advice, Tiffany's book for insight and roadmap, Money Trouble for everything else even after bankruptcy. The others are crap!
Gives a broad description of debt information.......2004-11-15
I think of this book as a dictionary of options rather than a How To type book. The information is general, but it does list some state specific laws. If you are deep in debt and are looking to get out ASAP, then this book may be too general. However, it will point you in a direction to search for more answers.
See also, Surviving Financial Disasters (CD-ROM included).
Too Basic.......2000-08-24
This book is very basic and gives advice about how to manage money. However the one mistake the book makes is that it assumes that collection agencies and/or creditors are legitimate and offers no recourse to how to dispute charges from less scrupulous companies and agencies. The text for dealing with credit reporting bureaus is very basic. There are more precise texts to tell how to clean up your credit report (naturally after you have closed the accounts).
Reader friendly coverage of all the consumer credit basics........2000-07-03
Get out of debt and rebuild credit with the aid of this revised 6th edition of a classic, which tells how to take control of finances and repair credit. From repairing a bad credit rating to reducing alimony and responding to lawsuits, Money Troubles provides all the basics involved in consumer credit issues.
Comprehensive, practical, authoritative, reader friendly........2000-04-06
Now in a fully updated and expanded sixth edition, Robin Leonard's Money Troubles: Legal Strategies To Cope With Your Debts continues to be an invaluable instruction manual and guide for consumers seeking to pare down their debts by negotiating with creditors and prioritizing financial obligations; rebuilding personal credit; stop collection harassment; respond effectively to creditor lawsuits; learn effective alternatives to bankruptcy; determine if and when bankruptcy is the correct response to debt; and much, much more. Accurate, reliable, practical, comprehensive, and truly reader friendly, Money Troubles is an outstanding, highly recommended compendium of advice, counsel and strategies for dealing with credit cards, bill collectors, credit reports, credit bureaus, judgments, wage garnishments, repossessions, foreclosure, property liens and levies, refund rights, bounced checks, consigned loans, budgeting, and credit counseling.

Customer Reviews:
Hi.......2002-03-14
This accurately describes the 'behind the scenes' nonsense that is going on when creditors bug you. The bottom line in most cases is - all talk, no action. I cant even take those creditor clowns seriously after reading the book.
The book itself is great. Unfortunately its written in the "college analysis" style which makes for difficult reading. Keep a dictionary close by. It goes into all the probability formulas and whatnot. However there is good info for the layman in here. I doubt there is any other book out there with as much info on creditor collections. The title says it all.

Product Description
Denise Richardson paid a little extra on her mortgage each month, hoping to shorten the length of her mortgage and pay less interest charges. That simple, recommended practice catapulted her into an epic David vs. Goliath battle(s) stealing her true credit identity and a decade of her life. After reclaiming her good name-briefly, she realized others were shredding her credit and would steal another five years of her life. Denise paints a human face on the insidious effects of Identity theft, inaccurate credit reporting and loan servicing fraud while offering chapter lessons that provide knowledgeable tips to help prevent becoming a victim of a system gone terribly wrong.
Customer Reviews:
She's a fighter!.......2007-04-26
Denise's story is shaking up the credit industry. In clear, concise and honest language she tells her painfully true story of what can and does happen to honest and innocent people. I am buying copies of GIVE ME BACK MY CREDIT for all my friends...especially students being offered unsolicited credit. An excellent, compelling read.
THE IWO JIMA AGAINST CORPORATE GIANTS.......2007-03-22
Author Denise Richardson and I decided to exchange our literary works. I sent her my novel "The Kids on the Block," and Denise sent me hers; "Give Me Back My Credit." Even though "The Kids on the Block has some sad parts, for the most part it is humorous and hilariously funny. Denise's true story is, on the other hand, tragic, nightmarish and bloodcurdling to say the least. I do not expect Denise to have much humor left after what she went through in fighting an arrogant, error-plagued, contemptuous Mortgage Bank and the three national credit bureaus.
Denise is the Iwo Jima against corporate giant's who, not only ruined her credit, but made her life worse than a living hell.
If you are like me and feel safe and confident since your credit score is above the 700's do not be too complacent and seat on your recliner thinking all is good and well. I jumped out of my seat after reading the first two chapters!
In author Denise Richardson's book "Give Me Back My Credit" she tells how her nightmare and living hell began. She, too, thought and felt safe and confident that everything about her mortgage on the home she owned was better than best. She made it a point to make extra payments to the principal of the mortgage loan, and of course, her credit rating was excellent as well.
Years later Denise decided to refinance her home. Much to her astounding surprise, she finds out the Mortgage lender had made many dreadful, inexcusable accounting errors on her mortgage loan. The lender never credited the extra mortgage payment to the principal of the mortgage loan.
The mortgage lender had not only been misapplying those extra payments, but was using her money to their benefit. After she found out the inexcusable mistake the lender had been making for years, the mortgage lender refused to correct their accounting errors. Denise's nightmare and living hell began.
From face-to-face battles against the corporate giants to inefficient attorneys and courtroom dramas the fight to regain, restore and have the errors corrected by the Mortgage lender only compounded into a bigger nightmare. From there it spread like a cancerous disease to the three national credit bureaus of Experian, Trans Union and Equifax.
This is a story the reader will not forget. The reader will learn from it and, sadly to say, from Denise's nightmare.
I didn't think I needed to read "Give Me Back My Credit;" I was wrong! I hope the book finds its way to the halls of high school and college administrators and make the book required reading for all students.
If you feel you don't need to read her book, you, too, will be wrong.
This book can help you get out of credit problems (or avoid them in the first place).......2006-11-10
Denise's first-person account is moving and her story is full of useful information and lists of important resources. It's unfortunate that she had to go through all of this, but she's written it down so we can learn from her experience. This book will help you understand the landscape of red tape and motivate you to cut through it.
A Super Encyclopedia Showing How To Avoid Credit Problems !!.......2006-11-09
The author, Denise Richardson, holds nothing back in sharing her experiences with the "credit system." There's over 200 pages of information that can help you avoid the "hell" that she went through in dealing with creditors. There are 14 chapters detailing what happened to her and how she resolved the problems. It includes credit bureau errors, mortage problems, debt collectors, identity thieves and much, much more. Her experiences and resolutions can only help you avoid these financial problems, saving you countless time, money, and frustration !!
A compelling story and a good read.......2006-11-03
Give Me Back My Credit is a David and Goliath story and a must-read for anyone trying to correct errors on their credit report. All Denise Richardson did was try to pay off her mortgage ahead of schedule. Her reward for this should have been a life without debt or worry. Instead, it was the beginning of a running battle stretching out over 15 years and involving multiple law suits.
Although Denise has won each and every battle she has fought against some of the largest companies in the financial services industry, her victories have come at a high personal cost. Her book doesn't just tell her story. It also gives the reader needed information before starting any similar struggle, and tells us all how to avoid some of the most unpleasant of the pitfalls that she found facing her.
