The book is fanastic! It has great ideas to put into practice in your daily living that make you feel better as well as the people that you come in contact with everyday. It is a must read book for EVERYONE!

3 out of 5 stars Not his best work!.......2007-09-25

This is co-authored by John and Les. Les does not write well and does not add much value to Johns ideas. So essentially only 1/2 of this book is worth reading.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome little book on winning with people.......2007-06-26

While a lot of the "tips" this book gives are really common sense, it's something that not everyone thinks about. What this little book manages to do is present 25 ways to win people in an easy to read and follow format which you can instantly start applying to your everyday life. One of the ways to win people over is to write them a personal note and the first thing I did after reading that chapter was to put the book down and write my wife a note letting her know how much I appreciate and love her. If you're like me you will not be able to put this book down for long until you completely finish reading it.

5 out of 5 stars Practical Application, Short Chapters, Solid Principles.......2006-12-10

Many reviewers said that this book is "fluffy" or that Perrott gives too much "Maxwell-worship" throughout the book. This may be true, but I actually enjoyed reading about all of the ways that Maxwell has practically shown these concepts in action. I enjoyed the short chapters that tackle simple concepts one-at-a-time. I read this book with my wife and we were able to discuss each chapter together due to the thought-provoking applications suggested at the end of each chapter.

Applying the 25 concepts in this book requires more than reading this book, they are an art (but then again, so are all social skills). This book is a great introduction to some principles that should be common-sense, but in today's self-gratifying culture, it is refreshing to read about the art of focusing on others.

I recommend this book to anyone who works with people, lives with people, or converses with people.

2 out of 5 stars Impressionable, but..........2007-08-25

If you are looking for clear cut set of rules/strategy that you, the individual investor, can follow to make money, then look elsewhere. The trend followers solely follow the movement of the price in exclusion to everything else. They identify a trend - uptrend or downtrend - and play upon it. As noted in the book, they react to and not predict the prices.

The methods, far and few, explained in the book are definitely not suitable for me - the retail investor. First of all, I don't have access to a trading system that can follow the rules outlined. Second, I am not a trader in the strict sense myself, where trades are triggered by a system without me realizing what is happening. To perfect such a system would take me ages given that investing isn't my main bread winner. This book will pass off as a great text book in the annals of the Ivy League schools, but when it comes to making money for you, the individual investor again, I think you are better off reading the likes of Jesse Livermore, Nicolas Darwas and William O' Neal. Read the Lessons from the Greatest Stock Traders of All Time' by John Boik or any of William O'Neals books. They define clear cut rules that we can all follow and make money. How else would I have made about 80K in the past three years compared to the first 8 years of my investing where I barely made any.

There are a lot of anecdotes in the book - literally, every page has 2-3 of these. All of these may impress, but in the end they are nice to feel scholarly about. If you are a beginning investor, the first chapter -Trend following, all of 22 pages - lays the foundation by explaining the different schools of thought regarding investing. Then there is 55 pages outlining the great trend followers are their performance but never in clear and precise terms or rules what their methods are. It almost feels sycophantic reading about other 'great' beings the way it is written. At last, after reading almost 210 pages, I got to see some system of trading. All these are pretty dry.

This is possibly the only one exception to the many great investing books in my library that I could have borrowed from the library. You will be better off reading 'How to make money in stocks..' by William O' Neal again and again and again.

2 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not very useful.......2007-06-03

I own this book, I even recommend this book. But let me explain the 2 star rating....

While the book is a good history lesson, and shows how some of these guys make a lot of money, it's just not practical advice for the rest of us. I highly doubt that many of us have a billion dollar hedge fund to run.

Also, there are no real strategies in this book.

However, it did get me thinking in a different way. So for that, it is worth the money. (The main thing was to allow for larger swings against your position, allow the market a little more room than I did before.)

I know that this guy sells other products on his website, but to be honest, I don't see them being worth it. Most of this book is about defending trend traders, which is fine, but I wasn't attacking them in the first place.

I have begun to use the 4 hour chart more with his thinking, and I have to say it makes a little more sense. Not to get caught up in "micro-movements" as I call them. But to allow massive 300 pips swings against you on a weekly chart isn't practical for most of us.

So in conclusion, I think it's a good read, but if you get what I got out of it from my review, then it may or may not be worth the money.

3 out of 5 stars It describes trend followers but does not give any sysytems.......2007-06-01

If you want to read about trend followers you can get this book. But if you want books with trend following systems do not waste your money.

5 out of 5 stars Listen to the author's podcasts before you dismiss him based on negative reviews........2007-05-25

I discovered Michael Covel in a web search for "trading podcasts" and find his audio diatribes refreshing, inspiring, offering a real perspective on trading discipline.

A link to the podcast directory is at the turtletrader dot com web site, they are just a few minutes in length and worth your time.

At least listen to the one titled "Understand your emotions", it is worth your time and an important reminder to anyone running any amount of money.

Sometimes the author uses his audio forum to respond to negative reviews of his book, if you are listening for the first time, skip the rebuttal and sample another of his podcasts.

2 out of 5 stars Trend Following: How Great Traders Make Millions in Up or Down Markets, New Expanded Edition, (Paperback).......2007-05-12

Disappointing. Long on theory and very short on practical advice. Not of much use to an individual investor. I would not recommend this book to someone looking for a "how to" book.

1 out of 5 stars Technique but no cookie.......2007-10-19

As someone who has spent over a decade on the Internet, I understand the fundamentals of the building of a tool or the utilization of a tool that can be used to generate money online. If you understand this too, then skip this one.

This book is for the complete novice. BUT if that novice buys it, they will regret it because they will spend hours and hours toiling to get to an expert level of understanding on how to build and utilize a system such as this and then be faced with the same outcome I was.

There is absolutely no recommendation for products and services that do well in this environment. All of the check copies posted in the book were dated from 2005 which most folks know was the hay-day of the search marketplace and literally was the first year in existence for the pay-per-click marketplace. Today's marketplace, especially in the affiliate realm, is extremely more competitive largely because of books like this. There was no effort expended in addressing this competitive pressure and the resulting gap reduction between affiliate commission and PPC bids.

At the end of the day, folks, there are no easy millions. You must be ahead of a trend like Mr. Borelli, to exploit such an opportunity. Once the rest of the world has caught up, the only thing you can hope to do is ... you guessed it ... sell a book to teach others how to do it.

4 out of 5 stars Basic tools for the online gold rush.......2007-09-06

My experience was similar to that of "gordo the lordo." Plenty of clicks but just a few orders. Getting clicks isn't hard. What kind of clicks? That's the $1,000,000 question.

As a search engine advertiser, your task is to capture the clicks of consumers who have made a buying decision or are very close. These clicks will make money for you. The clicks of people who are "just browsing" will cost you money. You have to be a student of online search behavior.

You capture money-making clicks by finding highly relevant keywords and writing focused ads. How hard can it be? Get your ads up and running, tweak them, and watch the money roll in. You only need basic English skills and common sense. A degree in advertising or English is not going to help.

I would encourage anyone to try it because you may discover that you have the knack. By spending $500 or so, you should be able to get an idea how well you might do. Don't make the mistake I made, which was to let my ads capture several hundred clicks without getting any orders. I kept thinking "the orders will kick in." They didn't. Stop your ads after 200-300 clicks and wait for results. (Even 50 clicks are too many with retail sites.) You can either tweak the ad (if it's close to break-even) or abandon it and try something else. Tweaking wouldn't have helped my ads, which earned pennies for every dollar spent on clicks.

You are playing the keyword market on Google. Some keywords sell for $20 per click and more. Search engine advertisers don't get caught up in keyword "bubbles." They are only after potent "value" keywords that sell for 25 cents or less.

The keyword market is like a gold rush. Everywhere you look the ground is torn up by hordes of stampeding prospectors. You wander far and wide hoping to find a stone that hasn't been turned. How many thousands of other guys are out there trying the same thing? Good luck.

You never know. You might have the knack. Affiliate Millions gives you everything you need to know to get started. When I joined my first affiliate program and set up my first ads, I had the book open and followed it not step-by-step but word-for-word. It's just the kind of "excruciating" detail a beginner needs.

Mr. Borelli explains how to evaluate the earnings potential of an affiliate program. The profit, or course, depends on your revenue per click. An adgroup for $20 books may not be the way to go.

Should you actually make money, there is a chapter on campaign finance. You have to manage your cash flow to optimize performance. If another book on online advertising has this kind of chapter, I haven't seen it.

Mr. Borelli has set up the Affiliate Millions website for "prospectors." The only item listed for sale is the book. There is a free monthly newsletter. There are no ads. Mr. Borelli answers questions on the site's discussion board. If you are at all familiar with the "get rich online" racket you know how exceptional this is. Such sites are usually crammed with ads and have little useful information.

Mr. Borelli's advice is a bit sketchy and vague. That's because it has to be. If Mr. Borelli were to disclose his winning formula, everyone would copy him and he would be out of business within hours. All he can do is point people in right direction. Within that proviso, he provides clear and valuable information.

Mr. Borelli makes no promises that prospectors will get rich. He merely suggests that it is possible. He ends the opening chapter with "Take it step-by-step and read the chapters that follow, and you'll stand a good chance of becoming an Affiliate Millionaire yourself." If he starts the book by saying your chances are practically nil, no one will continue reading.

Like "gordo," I'm amazed that anyone could make millions at this. A million dollars in a year is $2,700 a day. You would have to consider yourself pretty successful with $2,700 a day in SALES, never mind commissions. You would have to strike it rich with multiple million-dollar campaigns. You would have to come up with new ones all the time.

Think of the millions in revenue Mr. Borelli is generating for the companies he advertises for. They should throw a party for him.

1 out of 5 stars Didn't work for me.......2007-08-21

I tried the principles in this book. I set up some ads for a variety of products and different companies through Commission Junction and was, at first, delighted that I was getting a good amount of clicks. I was confident the ads were good enough because of some experience I've had in the past writing copy.

However, after over 250 clicks to major websites that boasted a large earnings per click, I got one sale and a large $ loss. The ads were good enough to catch the people's attention, but no one was buying.

I think this is a tough way to go at it. A website might be the better way to go. I am amazed that anyone could make any money doing this, never mind millions.

4 out of 5 stars Direct and Immediately Useful.......2007-07-24

I was seeking a detailed, practical and thorough "how-to" approach to build internet-based revenue. This book filled the bill. It covered all key facets of the approach - particularly helpful for a layperson - as well as for someone with web-based experience (as am I). I have yet to test the specific recommendations. The book was solid.

2 out of 5 stars Basic start but could leave you broke.........2007-07-12

Its true that money can be made by signing up for affiliate programs and marketing them on pay per click search engines. However, its possible to lose a great deal of money and this book doesn't do a good enough job helping people calculate the risks. For example, the author indicates he markets Amazon products. Amazon on its basic associate program pays 4%. A $20.00 book pays a comission of .80 cents. But in pay per click advertising a marketer can pay 30, 40 cents and even a dollar depending on the keywords. In a test marketing the new Harry Potter book (book 5) I spent over 9.00 in ppc ads that resulted in 4 sales. The click thru to sale was 13%... which isn't bad. The point is, I earned only about $2, but spent over $9.00 to earn it (a loss of $7.00). The author doesn't explain how to choose affiliate programs in terms of cost vs. payoff. Anyone who reads this book will get some basic information, but before spending money on ppc advertising they'd be better off buying The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords which does a better job explaining keywords, writing effective ads and managing campaigns.

5 out of 5 stars The truth about the speaking business.......2007-05-21

A friend of mine loaned me this book and I started reading it. By the time I got to the 3rd chapter, I went ahead and ordered it of off Amazon!

No B.S., no sugar-coating it. Just the facts about how to make serious money in the speaking business. What you should do and what you should NOT do (sometime even more important).

The yin and yang of the speaking world would be Speak & Grow Rich by Dottie Walters and Money Talks by Alan Weiss. Both coming from different directions, but both equally as important.

Get it!

5 out of 5 stars Concepts As Good Now as Then.......2007-04-18

Alan Weiss knows his stuff, and delivers it in an accessible and straightforward package. Never one to sugarcoat, his advice to speakers centers on marketing more than delivery. If you are looking into the business of speaking, this book is for you. If you want to become a better speaker, this book is only 'sort of' good for you. But its definitely good for your audiences.

5 out of 5 stars It's Great, You'll Love It.......2007-01-14

Alan is the real deal. He tells it straight. He's really interesting (just like his talks). Read the other reviews--as they capture my experience that this is a great book for those who want to improve every facit of their professional speaking experience. If you're serious, buy the book. If you're not, re-read the other reviews again....until you 'get it'.

4 out of 5 stars Great book for speakers.......2006-03-21

As a new speaker I purchased this book to add to my collection and it's one of the top books. Weiss holds no punches and just gets real. Not alot of fluff and some wonderful recommendations to continue to help me to think like a speaker. I read the book in one night. I recommend buying this book and Speak and Grow Rich by Dottie Walkters and Lilly Walters to read together. The both give excellent insight into the world of speaking.

4 out of 5 stars Helpful suggestions about publicity for speaking engagements.......2006-03-19

This book had many helpful suggestions about publicity for speaking engagements. Weiss seems to have made high dollar lifestyle from speaking, and leading workshops. He comes across as arrogant and opinionated, but the book is full of good ideas of where to look for speaking engagements, and make top dollars in the business.

5 out of 5 stars Dan is the Man!.......2007-07-28

Got an idea for a product or service you'd like to sell, but you don't know where to start? Dan Kennedy comes through again with a wealth of proven, yet often out-of-the-box ideas for making money with your ideas. Everything I've ever bought from Dan has been worthwhile, and I own all his books and a few of his workshop transcripts. Dan is the man when it comes to out-of-the-box and highly effective marketing ideas. Even if you own a "mundane" business like dry cleaning or dentistry, Dan's book will give you a boatload of ideas for creating more revenue.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent 10 years ago.......2007-07-23

I found the book generally helpful, but now is clearly dated (the author was just becoming familiar with his PC). Still, one can glean a few useful ideas. The book should be revised in order to make it worth buying.

5 out of 5 stars Dan's Info & Advice Has Made Me Millions..........2007-05-28

I was a member of Dan Kennedy's elite $10,000+ per year "Platinum Coaching Program" for a number of years... and must admit that Dan is a virtual encyclopedia of marketing and product development ideas. This book is a reflection of Dan's genius... and is a "must have" for any serious product developer, marketer, and inventor. One of Dan's strong points is teaching through stories - and "How to Make Millions with Your Ideas" is chock full of real-world "success stories" of how others have made millions with their ideas... and how you can use their proven methods to create your own million dollar ideas. If you don't get a product or marketing idea from this book that generates at least 100 times what you pay for it, you either haven't read it close enough... or simply failed to implement what he suggests. Highly Recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Dan S. Kennedy book "How to Mkae Millions With Your Ideas.......2007-02-18

I have most if not all of Dan's book and his course. He is one the great business consultant. He has more millions the most consultant I believe. I only wish I read these books when I was young. I be a billionaire now, with Gates and Buffet. Dan S. Kennedy's book decribes every option for truning sound ideas into fortunes. I have one book at home and one in the office because I like that much and know what it can do for many business ventures.

5 out of 5 stars A great companion to Jay Abraham's 'Getting Everything You Can Out of All You've Got'.......2006-07-23

Dan Kennedy is another street-smart author/consultant whose published works I really admire, despite the associated slick factors. The other is Jay Abraham.

To me, this particular book, written as an entrepreneur's guide, is definitely a great companion to Jay Abraham's 'Getting Everything You Can Out of All You've Got' which I had reviewed earlier - & vice versa.

Like Jay Abraham's book, it is jam-packed with actionable tools & ideas. Most of the tools & ideas can also be easily adapted, with a little bit of ingenuity, to suit one's unique marketplace & special circumstances. This is the elegant beauty of both Jay Abraham's & Dan Kennedy's street-smart advice.

I have specifically adapted many of his tools & ideas. His 'Million Dollar Rolodex' in Chapter 13 is just one excellent example, among many others.

I certainly rate this book very highly. GO FOR IT...if you want to make your dreams come true!

Robert X. Cringely manages to capture the contradictions and everyday insanity of computer industry empire building, while at the same time chipping away sardonically at the PR campaigns that have built up some very common businesspeople into the household gods of geekdom. Despite some chuckles at the expense of all things nerdy, white, and male in the computer industry, Cringely somehow manages to balance the humor with a genuine appreciation of both the technical and strategic accomplishments of these industry luminaries. Whether you're a hard-boiled Silicon Valley marketing exec fishing for an IPO or just a plain old reader with an interest in business history and anecdotal storytelling, there's something to enjoy here.

Book Description

Computer manufacturing is--after cars, energy production and illegal drugs--the largest industry in the world, and it's one of the last great success stories in American business. Accidental Empires is the trenchant, vastly readable history of that industry, focusing as much on the astoundingly odd personalities at its core--Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Mitch Kapor, etc. and the hacker culture they spawned as it does on the remarkable technology they created. Cringely reveals the manias and foibles of these men (they are always men) with deadpan hilarity and cogently demonstrates how their neuroses have shaped the computer business. But Cringely gives us much more than high-tech voyeurism and insider gossip. From the birth of the transistor to the mid-life crisis of the computer industry, he spins a sweeping, uniquely American saga of creativity and ego that is at once uproarious, shocking and inspiring.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars "Accidental Empires" is not exactly an appropriate title.......2007-07-12

Published in 1992, this book is a good retrospective on the rise of the microcomputer and the fortunes it helped generate. However, Cringely almost totally fails when he attempts to look into the future. Cringely writes a regular industry gossip column for "InfoWorld" and so is well connected with the inner workings of the IT industry. As you will be able to see from Cringely's writings, the choice of the title is only marginally correct.
It is true that Bill Gates, Steven Jobs and the others who gleaned enormous fortunes from the rise of the personal computer were in the right place at the right time. To this extent, the use of the term accidental is appropriate. However, they were also smart enough to recognize opportunities that others did not, so in that area there was nothing accidental about their success.
If you read this book with that in mind, then there are many benefits to reading it. However, without that perspective, you may reach the end with a biased and incorrect opinion of how these incredible fortunes were made.

5 out of 5 stars A fun gossip column that captures the times.......2007-02-26

Robert Cringely's book captures the ethos of early and mid-90s Silicon Valley - when nerds were starting to change the world, but the masses didn't get it yet. He captures the gossip, makes bold predictions (Bill Gates won't get married while his Mom is still alive - doh!) and accurately relates the ethos of the era. At the time it was almost a call to arms. Now it still suffices for historical context.

5 out of 5 stars Amusing and accurate! Oh for a new edition!!.......2007-01-10

I found this book a real delight.
You are given many amusing insights and he's often got things VERY accurate indeed. Worth reading.

If only it didn't stop back then and we could now get to Volume II :-)

5 out of 5 stars Cringely was there and part of the epic tale of Silicon Valley.......2006-08-01

He gets it -- from his first chapter when he says that constant change is the only norm in the PC business and the floppy disk days to Fry's Electronics and Bill Gates mom Mary-- some great insider information. Cringley is a former Stanford professor and foreign correspondent. Great to have on your shelf and look back to what was what back then. In his final chapters he says "surfing is the perfect metaphor for high technology business-- little did he know in 1993 how right he was and would be! Of course on the last page, he says no more phones or TV sets by the middle of this next decade -- like 2005 :))No more computers-- hmm what am I keyboarding on. He talks about the rise of multiple devices and of course we have those too...funny how most of this stuff doesn't replace the earlier stuff-- just more boxes and goodies to cart around or clutter the desk. But oh that productivity.

5 out of 5 stars Interesting.......2006-04-21

This is an interesting book. If you ever wanted to know about the companies that have ruled the computer world, just read this book, you'll learn about them in a pretty funny way. If you're an entrepreneur, you'll learn a lot from this book.

Mark Joyner and his colleagues would never stand a chance at working for a premier marketing agency. I mean premier as in Fifth Avenue or those that handle the accounts of fortune 100 companies. Any executive at a top tier corporation would loose his job for accepting this `gurus' advice.

Now why does his book have so many positive reviews? Why is Mark Joyner a millionaire?(?) Respectively Mark Joyner knows something about marketing and the psychology of influence. But then isn't this true with any charlatan? Some people see glamour working on the fringes of society as hustlers. I find respect and dignity to be a much stronger capital than a hustled buck. So yes, using advice from this book will make you `possibly' give you influence but following these characters will cost you `power' in the end.

So what do I mean by `these' guy's? I've identified about a dozen `gurus' that preach the secrets of brainwashing or hypnotic marketing that rely on each other. You can find their reviews on this book somewhere in here, and they'll mention their own book. I have accidentally purchased a couple of these books.

This book along with those written by the other guru's have one thing in common. They regurgitate information from a respectable source. In this case the regurgitation
Is fourth class and perverse. I believe seventy five percent of it comes from a single source and the other twenty five percent is therefore completely meaningless. I say this because (Mr.) Joyner relies on the principals of a single scholar in the field of social psychology specifically exploring the principals of persuasion. There are so many more principals and cutting edge studies out there that Mr. Joyner's singular `academic' resource demonstrates how questionable of a expert he is.

Now to his credit he has applied these principals to his own success and shares them. What is effectively going on is the Internets version of a super hyped INFOMERCIAL. If you're a respectable business owner and you take the advice of Mr. Joyner and his inner circle you'll loose the respect of your clients eventually and then your personal dignity. If you do as Mr. Joyner has done, you may read the influence theories in a textbook on social psychology and simplify it, perverse it, then regurgitate it into a poor and incomplete marketing strategy and sell it at three hundred times it's worth in hype. You'll indorse Mark Joyner, he'll endorse you in return. You'll apply what you learn and get some poor needy people to (commit) to your insights, effectively forming a psuado business cult. As much as a genius you think you may be your not going to crack Wall Street and forget pulling the strings at capital hill because you'll have no power `hustler'.

I buy a lot of Marketing, business, and `academic' books on influence. It is inevitable that I buy a bad apple here and there. Mark Joyner has reduced himself beyond any `Gentleman' to sell you on his AUTHORITY as a former officer of this country.

5 out of 5 stars Mind Blowing.......2007-03-16

This book is very eye-opening and mind blowing. It might be a small book, but it's awesome. It makes you look at getting rich in a whole new way. I think Harv Eker has written the best books on getting rich. He makes getting rich seem easy. He lets you see the entire process from beginning to end and takes all the mystery out of it. It is suited for me because I'm an entrepreneur and I have the intelligence and drive to make a successful business. I have read Harv's books and many marketing books plus many personal development books, and I will keep reading many more books that can give me whatever help I need. Now I feel I am really and truly on the SUPER HIGHWAY to wealth. I am certain that my days of being poor are coming to an end very soon. I have a business that wasn't doing too well, but now I have a clear vision of how to make it a success and I'm getting more ideas on that every day. Things are starting to click wonderfully. I spend all day every day learning and working on my business. This is the happiest I have ever been in my life. Harv Eker is like an arch angel of mercy come from heaven to show people the light and rescue them from poverty.

5 out of 5 stars Follow Harv's advice in this power-packed thin book... and you WILL make a million!.......2007-01-28

Speedwealth is Harv's first book, long before Secrets of the Millionaire Mind came out. It's an exceptional little book - along the lines of Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki and The E-Myth by Michael Gerber. Harv outlines clear, short, simple steps that - if you follow them to the letter - your business will for sure skyrocket!

Another cool thing about Speedwealth is it isn't jam packed with marketing messages and invitations to visit Harv's website every other paragraph! I mean, the excessive marketing in his newer book - Secrets of the Millionaire Mind - is bearable because you have to admire this marketing genius!! But, in Speedwealth, it's kinda refreshing to just let the powerful business principles sink in.

Cheers,
Mari Smith ~ Success Coach

4 out of 5 stars Speedwealth is a Gem!.......2006-08-30

I was introduced to T. Harv Eker and this book almost four years ago when my mother presented my husband and me with tickets to one of Harv's seminars. Having seen many famous top speakers over the past two decades, I was a bit skeptical at first. I thought that perhaps it would be "the same old same old". But it wasn't.

In Speedwealth, Harv touches upon common conceptions and misconceptions of wealth in a way that just makes sense. His practical approach and "no holds barred" attitude are what make his seminars and books so enjoyable. This guy doesn't pull any punches or give you vague information. He tells it like it is and shows you how to do it. His methods and seminars are like no other.

Speedwealth may be a small book by today's standards, but it is packed with information and it gives you a taste of more to come. This is the kind of book you can flip open at any page, any time, and become motivated to do what it takes. I highly recommend this book and any other by Harv.

After attending his Millionaire Mind Intensive seminar and picking up this book, I started on a personal journey to achieve success. My goal was to become a successful published author. My fourth novel (a reprint of my debut) is due out in 2007! I am slowly but surely getting there. Speedwealth is a gem! Thanks, Harv!

3 out of 5 stars Not real impressed.......2007-02-08

With all the hype I was really looking forward to this book. If your looking for a general overview of list building, it's worth a look. If you want detail and how-to, you won't find as much here. I was really interested in co-registration, but the chapter contained one paragraph about the subject, and told you to try out his service. The rest of that chapter talked about list size and quality. What happened to information about co-reg? Guess I have to pay more to get it.

For the price I can't complain, I did learn a couple things, though there were no "wow" ideas. Much of the book I've already learned on article sites. I dont mind being pitched in a book, as long as the book is useful, but it seemed the book is pretty much a pitch for other higher priced products. Guess that's marketing nowdays.

I'm sure glen knows his stuff, he's had some big success, just wish he would have shared more in the book.

1 out of 5 stars Never received.......2006-11-03

I ordered this book and it didn't come, and I said ok send it to me later, adn then it didn't come and I said ok send it later and again and again after four extensions I gave up. This may be a great book or not, but it is not avaiable. I would have liked to have had a cahnce to read it. Disappointed in the service.

5 out of 5 stars Need a Large List? This is how to do it.......2006-09-10

Glen Hopkins has produced the quintessential work on how to create a list and what to do with it. I was amazed how valuable the information is.

Even if you think you know everything about building a list, Glen has some insider secrets to share that can open your eyes.

It's a small book and you can read it in an evening, but the contents are very powerful. He talks about viral maketing, co-registration, and turning that list into cash anytime you want.

Great job Glen. This should be in everyone's library. I know I've got mine on the desk as a reference.

Mr.Gleek knows his stuff. This book is broken down into bite size pieces. Open to any page and get at least one good idea. This book is also a perfect example of how to use a self-published book as a combination business card, promotional tool, and catalog. The only reason I didn't give the book a 5, is that much of the content is repeated in Mr. Gleeks other book; MARKETING & PROMOTING YOUR OWN SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS.I don't mean the same ideas, I mean whole sections, word-for-word. If I had not bought both books, I would have been totally satisfied with this one.

5 out of 5 stars Speaking for Money.......2002-02-20

As a professional speaker, you have to understand how to make money. The other books I've read on this topic give you some good tips, but this is the best one I've read on how to MAKE MORE MONEY as a speaker. I highly reccomend it. I benefited a lot from Fred's extensive experience with CareerTrack and his knowledge of the public seminar business. His insights on how to develop your own products are amazing. Without reading this book I'm sure I would have been a speaker, but not a RICH speaker.
