I enjoyed this advice because unlike the mindless lazy wishing and narcissistic bent of 'The Secret' pap, this book illustrates how important action is in attaining dreams.
I also appreciate that James stresses how riches don't mean anyhting compared to souls and our true selves.
He himself has said the bulk of his words were heavily edited for The Secret video.
He makes great points and this is a highly valuable work.

I have read and re-read this book over 10 times in the last 8 years! Excellent style for the text of the science of success. If you are tired of "feeling" your way to success James Ray breaks down the steps and mental disciplines needed to achieve your desires. I recommend this book to everyone wanting more out of their life.

Looking for a great book, then you have found it here. This book is a must have if you are looking for ways to improve your life. Easy to read and understand, up to you to apply. Read it again and again. Sharing it is also a great idea.
Less than One Star would be better.......2007-10-06
Here we have yet another one of those dreary, drudging works which offers HOPE to the confused and the lacking. I found a relative of mine reading this item and asked to borrow it. After going through it, I came to the conclusion that this information is infantile to say the least. It is written to appeal to wide-eyed yearners who feel left out of the excitement and pleasures that life today seems to contain. Unfortunately for the yearners, there is absolutely NOTHING to be found between the covers of this book which will help them to reach their dreams in ANY way. Like eager kindergarten children, the hopeful readers will make serious attempts to follow various "Super Laws" ( Thou Shalt's and Thou Shalt Not's ) and the only glimmer of "success" they will ever experience from this exercise will be "success" in terms of how fantatically they adhere to these idiotic "Laws". "See mom! I'm following all the Laws!", "That's nice, Jimmy!"
The author claims to have researched "successful" individuals and is now providing the readers of his book with the "inside dope", the "standard formula" on how all these famous people managed to accomplish what they did in their lives. According to the author, its all so easy! All anyone needs to do is be aware of these various "Super Laws" responsible for the success of others, and then follow them! Success then becomes inevitable.
Well, this is simplistic in the extreme. No one can get inside another's thoughts or feelings, or even hope to grasp what the emotional/physical/psychological environment happened to be at any given time for another individual when that person managed to succeed at anything! The imbecility of copying the behavior of so-called "successful" people is exactly the same rubbish constantly pushed by the "You Can Have The Moon" types like Tony Robbins with their ridiculous concepts of "Just model what a successful person does and you'll succeed too" claptrap. This book is written with the same illogic.
I ask you to consider the following:
First;
If this author, Tony Robbins, and others of the same ilk were correct in terms of how they insist that people "succeed" in life ( model the successful and be successful too ), then where is the proof that it works in today's world? How many people have attended seminars, bought books and cassette tapes, and religiously adhered to the "modeling" principles and mysterious "laws" set before them? And out of this massive, teeming group of yearning believers, how many have actually SUCCEEDED? How many "overworld" types are there today who have every dream coming true, and who have openly stated that they must thank this or that book or seminar or cassette tape instructional set for getting them to the sublime state they now exist in?
Second:
Have you ever heard of the saying which goes; "What you see is what you get"? In other words, what has this author GOT? What do you see in him? Have you done any sort of research on HIM as a successful person before deciding to put your trust in what he claims will bring success to you if you purchase his book? Does he have the world in his hip pocket? Is he wealthy? And if he isn't, why not?! After all, he has uncovered and revealed the "Super Laws" of success in the Universe!!! If ANYONE should be succeeding at every turn and in the greatest ways possible, it should be THIS AUTHOR!!!!! But IS he doing so? If he has ANY significant wealth and material ease, did it come to him by following these "Super Laws" of the Universe, or did it come like wealth came to Tony Robbins? That is, did it come from SELLING HOPE and from nothing else? Where do you suppose someone like Robbins be without his Snake Oil maneuvers of offering hope to the hopeless?
Folks, this sort of sucker bait, snake oil routine has been going on in one form or another for literally centuries all across the Western world. People keep buying into it, and the only "success" it provides is to the SELLERS, not the buyers. Generation after generation, there is always a certain portion of the populace who never wake up and who are always willing to put their trust and belief in these empty promises of astounding achievement though the following of "LAWS" of some sort or another. Well, here's a "LAW" that will certainly bring magnificent success -
SELL HOPE THOUGH INFORMATION CLAIMING TO REVEAL MYSTERIOUS, ALL-POWERFUL "UNIVERSAL LAWS" !
Do this one thing and YOU too can succeed, make millions, and achieve your fondest material dreams!
Best Book I've Read in a Long Time.......2007-09-10
I like the concepts shared in the book so much, I bought several more copies to give to friends. I also bought and read the books of the people that he talked about in his book. It has been a chain reaction of books. I highly reccomend read it.

I found Bishop Jordan's work so inspiring, enpowering and en-LIGHT-ening (as in shedding LIGHT on one's spiritual nature and relation to God, taking one out of DARKNESS)that I now own both the book and the CD and am working my way through his workbook. (Available from his site.) If the belief system you have chosen will allow you to consider other view-points without FEAR, that I recommend it highly, (especially for "Rhinos" - ie, entrepreneurs) so as to help manifest God's GOOD in your life. Remember, the validity of your belief system manifests in its FRUITS.) Alas, I could see "Fundamentalists" or "Literalists" taking offense at some thoughts expressed in it. One of my favorite parts in the book is when Jordan cites a instance when precisely this happened and a congregation member gasped "Bishop Jordan thinks he's God!" and he replied "NO! God thinks he's ME!"

Just the perfect follow up ( or precurser) to The Secret. Both books pretty much support the thinking of the other and in many instances they clarify some points in boh books. An excellent read for those interested in improving their personal growth and emotional wealth as well as tangible wealth.

This is truly an amazing book. Bob brings about easy to understand strategies, principles, practices, advice, and so much more. Again, I say easy to understand, meaning not so deep it becomes meaningless to the general public. Bob is truly a mentor I intend to keep on my radar. I loved this book.
Very enlightening!!.......2007-03-30
I have read many books on the Law of Attraction over the last six months and although I kept learning new techniques and the foundations about why this law is absolutely true, I must admit that Wealth Beyond Reason has had a huge impact. The book is straight to the point about what you need to do to purposely and intentionally activate the law and why it simply does not work for most people (and how to avoid those mistakes). I can go on and on about how great of a book this is and since reading it, I have started to have some great results in my life.
In the past I might have seen these circumstances as "coincidence" but after reading the book I have learned how to leverage these experiences into acquiring more of what I want out of life. I highly recommend the book to anyone that is currently a student of Law of Attration.

Understandable Theory.......2007-08-27
A well written book. I do not believe in all that was stated in free trade but that would only be my opinion. The very best and why this should be mandatory reading in high school is the final thirty pages or so explaining compound interest, saving, investing and paying for college. I strongly believe each young man should share in the cost of college. If we are going to compete in a world market we better learn that college is for filling the head with knowledge and not the belly with beer. Unless you wish to be a telemarketer for some third world country with your degree.

Excellent, should be required reading for all 8th graders and socialists. Gives a down to earth understanding of the advantage to ALL with free market economics and the adverse effects when the government tries to do too much.
Common Sense Economics.......2007-01-10
Easy to read, easy to understand. The last time I tried to understand economic principles was in required college courses, and barely made it through any of them. This book clarifies the often deliberate obfuscation of this subject, and reveals what every American ought to know about how our system is supposed to work, but a lot of times doesen't. A must-read for every conservative concerned about liberal economic ideas and governmental meddling in Capitalism.
A good introduction to economics for libertarians.......2006-04-18
The authors of this book present an introduction for readers who have not studied economics before and who are predisposed to accept the a priori approach to economic theory advocated by libertarian economists and political thinkers.There is a major error that is presented on p.93 in a discussion of government spending and deficits.The authors claim that J M Keynes favored deficit finance in order to stimulate the economy during economic downturns.This is simply false.Keynes never favored deficit finance.Deficit Finance is the brain child of Abba Lerner's functional finance.Lerner's approach influenced American Keynesians such as Alvin Hansen and Walter Heller.Keynes's approach,as opposed to the American Keynesian School, emphasized continuous low rates of interest and the avoidance of excessive debt-speculative finance,based on,for example,margin loans.Keynes would have suggested that the central bank implement a policy of skewing credit availability away from loans for speculators,greenmailers,leveraged buyouts,hostile takeovers a la Icahn,T Boone Pickens,etc.
Common Sense Read For a Sometimes Dry Subject.......2006-02-17
This is essentially a newer edition of a book previously released by the author. The writing is clear and concise on many basic economic principles. If you are looking for an indepth analysis of how economics effects socio-political issues, this is not the book you are looking for. However, if you are looking to begin setting a solid foundation for economic understanding there is perhaps no better place to begin.

Great alternative to "The Secret".......2007-09-26
This book is very deep and breaks alot of traditional Christian teachings that are nonsense. Mostly pushed by the televangelists. Not for the baby Christians though, it goes beyond believing that you put everything in God's hands and do nothing yourself.
Great book for Christians as an alternative to "The secret" if your not comfortable reading that.

I really like Louise Hay. I have the book I can do it. I thought the information was pretty much the same information but on a different forum. The information is still good but I guess I should have know it was the same basic information.
Good Live CD.......2007-07-04
This is a decent CD to listen to. I give it 4 out of 5 stars because it is a live CD and some of the students issues tend to drag on. If you keep yourself in the right frame of mind you can still glean a lot from these conversations. I love the way Louise reminds one student that receiving her (Louise's) acknowledgement isn't necessary.
It is a good car cd and the mirror work is fun to do.

This audio program addresses how to get what you want. Louise Hay has been helping people for over 25 years, to become healthier and happier people.
What Louise teaches comes from personal experience, so you won't find questionable guru-speak here, just time-tested ways to attract prosperity, love and whatever else you want in your life. I think the important message here is to lovingly allow yourself to receive all the divine bounty that's already yours.
Highly recommended, particularly for those times that you feel distracted and offcenter. Louise will help you to get balanced and back on track.

As always, Louise is great. I have now 18 CD's by Louise and several are live lectures with one track with good sound quality. However, this is a live lecture and was very poorly edited with 58 tracks (each about a minute long). Because it was so poorly edited, the CD sound does not flow properly. Louise's message is jagged because of the poor editing. If you read my other reviews of Louise Hay's CD's, I gave all of them 5 stars. Louise is superb and the info in this CD is very helpful. I give Louise 5 stars and the editors of this CD a ZERO!!! In order to understand this CD because of the poor editing, I had to listen to it about 6 times! I do not blame Louise Hay for this. However, this lecture should have been on just ONE CD TRACK instead of 58! I think that I was generous in giving this a 4--the reason is Louise Hay's message! (Louise is the ONLY reason that I am give this CD a score of 4).

This CD is a great thing to listen to in the car occasionally, when you need to get yourself back on the right track. I love Louise Hay! This is the recording of a real lecture, with questions. It's not as information-packed as her books, of course, but just the thing for a quick pick-me-up.

I truly enjoyed Creflo Dollar's book about prosperity. In particular, I like how he stresses that thinking about prosperity only in terms of financial gain is incomplete; one must also think about prosperity in terms of health, relationships and other areas of our life.
While, I have trouble listening to Creflo Dollar on TV, the writing style in his book is clear, easy to understand, and directly applicable to our everyday lives.

I have been a Christian for years. I have heard many partial explanations of the prosperity message that left me with more questions than answers. Dr. Dollar gives a lucid and insightful presentation of the teachings of scripture about prosperity as well as defining what prosperity really is.
For years the church has taught that God wants us to be poor and needy. Dr. Dollar shows that this is not what the Bible teaches nor is it true through his experience with God. I would recommend this book for any who truly want to explore the Bible and what it has to say about God and how He wants to relate with us.

This is another life-changing book from Dr. Creflo. This wonderful book taught me what Total Life Prosperity is and that prosperity IS the will of God. I learned that to say prosperity is just money is not incorrect -- it's just an incomplete definition. Total life prosperity means prospering in your body, your relationships, your mind, your emotions, and, yes, your finances.
The "prosperity message" is under attack within the Church. After reading this book, I can't imagine why any Christian would reject the fact that God's will is prosperity. I now have a better understanding of Jesus' saying, "I am come that you may have life and have it more abundantly" thanks to this book. The Bible talks about money more than it does heaven. It talks about God's desire for His people to fare well in life often. As a Christian, it never set right with me that the same God Who saved me and delivered me would leave me sick, broke, and in family relationships that were disunified. I am so glad I read this book, for it showed me what has been missing in my life and how God wants me to have the best.
If the Bible is the final authority in your life and you have been wondering whether God's will is prosperity, buy this book. As always, the thing I like most about Dr. Dollar is that he doesn't preach or write his opinion. Everything he says is back up by Scriptures (plural).

I had this book on the shelf for almost a year before reading it. What a mistake to wait! William Bernstein, a noted financial writer (and physician) describes the economic history and factors that made our world so wealthy in just the last two centuries. Highly readable history and economics all wrapped together. Excellent!

Considering that the author is not an economist, this book is an excellent concise history of the global economy. The author attempts to give viable explanations as to why the first world indeed prospered and why the third world has not done as well economically.
While the book focuses exclusively on several factors that are worth mentioning, the book almost exclusively ignores current geopolitical realities between the relationship among first and third world countries. There is much truth to the fact that while first world countries became wealthy on their own historical accord, many third world nations have been manipulated and coerced into unfavorable positions (sometimes trade pacts) which gives tremendous advantages to first world countries at the expense of third world countries.
For example, as an economist I am very well aware that most third world countries have the greatest advantage in agriculture and in fact, many third world countries would prosper if they were to be engaged in free trade of agricultural products. However, heavy subsidies on first world agriculture not only helps protect first world farm enterprises at the expense of third world farmers, but it also helps support overproduction of foodstuff which are effectively dumped on international markets, depressing the global price of farm products making them too cheap for third world countries to take full advantage of. In other words, many first world countries are condeming the most efficient and best wealth producing sector of the economy of third world countries by protecting their domestic first world markets and dumping excesses on the international scene.
The author gives a very well thought out theory as to why some countries prospered and why others have not and as to why has so much wealth been created in the world in the more modern years. However, it effectively avoids discussion of important modern tactics being imposed by first world governments which directly hinders the economic prospects of many third world countries and in fact, threatens the idea of third world countries ever truly prospering to become truly wealthy, first world countries.

I really enjoyed this book. Poor Bernstein was so passionate about this subject you could tell he was trying to cram as many facts as he could into this book. I highly recommend this book.
