The only book you need!.......2007-09-10
This book teaches that even if you are not the next Amazon, ebay, or Google, you can still make a million on the internet. You just need to find a niche that is underserved.
I purchased "Starting an Online Business for Dummies" and the reviews were mixed. In someone's reviews, they mentioned this book and said it was much better. They suggested buying this book instead of the Dummies book. I took the advice, and am glad I did!
The book is great because it helps you understand that you don't need to be a billion dollar business to start with. Even small, underserved niche markets can earn a million.
I highly recommend this book if you are considering an ebusiness. It is well worth the money. I have been talking about this book to many people who have asked to borrow the book. I keep telling them to pick up their own copy because I am still using it as a reference! It is a great book!

If you already know what a "blog" is and you're fully proficient in searching the internet with google or yahoo, you're probably too sophisticated for this book. Fox's target are people with very little education (He introduces us at one point to the fancy MBA word, "business plan"). Fox also uses the website he started for his wife and mother as case studies. I guess I should have known better. After all, it is called 'Internet Riches" and has a picture of some guy driving in a brand new convertible on the cover.

Very Helpful.......2007-10-24
This is a very helpful book and there are plenty of valuable tips that make it a worthy investment. I don't understand some of the negative reviews, perhaps these readers were expecting the Holy Grail.
BEST ADSENSE BOOK EVER!.......2007-10-19
I have read tons of books on online markting. Joel Comm has done an EXCELLENT job at putting together a real clear and well written guide on how to leverage AdSense.

The AdSense Code: What Google Never Told You About Making Money with AdSense
I have bought and read this book and found it to be a very good book to give you an over view of how to maximize you AdSense exposure to increase revenue . This book, also, explains how Google search engine works, which I've found it even more interesting. I have added Google AdSense, search option, and referrals, to my web site to give it a business look, you can see it at
http://www.DoLittle-Strategies.com
to give you a good visual image.
Easy Read and Has Informative Content.......2007-10-12
I enjoyed this book and definitely learned things I did not know about optimizing page layouts and ad styles on web pages. The author also provides a lot of links and information about tools that can be used to manage and monitor your adSense account. The only slightly negative thing to say is the author spends quite a bit of time advertising his own products, but hey we live in a capitalist system. This book was worth the money.
Not a bad book on Adsense.......2007-10-12
I read Joels other books on Adsense as well and
this one goes into some more in depth detail on
certain aspects of Adsense. I recommend it and give
it four stars.

Customer Reviews:
Technique but no cookie.......2007-10-19
As someone who has spent over a decade on the Internet, I understand the fundamentals of the building of a tool or the utilization of a tool that can be used to generate money online. If you understand this too, then skip this one.
This book is for the complete novice. BUT if that novice buys it, they will regret it because they will spend hours and hours toiling to get to an expert level of understanding on how to build and utilize a system such as this and then be faced with the same outcome I was.
There is absolutely no recommendation for products and services that do well in this environment. All of the check copies posted in the book were dated from 2005 which most folks know was the hay-day of the search marketplace and literally was the first year in existence for the pay-per-click marketplace. Today's marketplace, especially in the affiliate realm, is extremely more competitive largely because of books like this. There was no effort expended in addressing this competitive pressure and the resulting gap reduction between affiliate commission and PPC bids.
At the end of the day, folks, there are no easy millions. You must be ahead of a trend like Mr. Borelli, to exploit such an opportunity. Once the rest of the world has caught up, the only thing you can hope to do is ... you guessed it ... sell a book to teach others how to do it.
Basic tools for the online gold rush.......2007-09-06
My experience was similar to that of "gordo the lordo." Plenty of clicks but just a few orders. Getting clicks isn't hard. What kind of clicks? That's the $1,000,000 question.
As a search engine advertiser, your task is to capture the clicks of consumers who have made a buying decision or are very close. These clicks will make money for you. The clicks of people who are "just browsing" will cost you money. You have to be a student of online search behavior.
You capture money-making clicks by finding highly relevant keywords and writing focused ads. How hard can it be? Get your ads up and running, tweak them, and watch the money roll in. You only need basic English skills and common sense. A degree in advertising or English is not going to help.
I would encourage anyone to try it because you may discover that you have the knack. By spending $500 or so, you should be able to get an idea how well you might do. Don't make the mistake I made, which was to let my ads capture several hundred clicks without getting any orders. I kept thinking "the orders will kick in." They didn't. Stop your ads after 200-300 clicks and wait for results. (Even 50 clicks are too many with retail sites.) You can either tweak the ad (if it's close to break-even) or abandon it and try something else. Tweaking wouldn't have helped my ads, which earned pennies for every dollar spent on clicks.
You are playing the keyword market on Google. Some keywords sell for $20 per click and more. Search engine advertisers don't get caught up in keyword "bubbles." They are only after potent "value" keywords that sell for 25 cents or less.
The keyword market is like a gold rush. Everywhere you look the ground is torn up by hordes of stampeding prospectors. You wander far and wide hoping to find a stone that hasn't been turned. How many thousands of other guys are out there trying the same thing? Good luck.
You never know. You might have the knack. Affiliate Millions gives you everything you need to know to get started. When I joined my first affiliate program and set up my first ads, I had the book open and followed it not step-by-step but word-for-word. It's just the kind of "excruciating" detail a beginner needs.
Mr. Borelli explains how to evaluate the earnings potential of an affiliate program. The profit, or course, depends on your revenue per click. An adgroup for $20 books may not be the way to go.
Should you actually make money, there is a chapter on campaign finance. You have to manage your cash flow to optimize performance. If another book on online advertising has this kind of chapter, I haven't seen it.
Mr. Borelli has set up the Affiliate Millions website for "prospectors." The only item listed for sale is the book. There is a free monthly newsletter. There are no ads. Mr. Borelli answers questions on the site's discussion board. If you are at all familiar with the "get rich online" racket you know how exceptional this is. Such sites are usually crammed with ads and have little useful information.
Mr. Borelli's advice is a bit sketchy and vague. That's because it has to be. If Mr. Borelli were to disclose his winning formula, everyone would copy him and he would be out of business within hours. All he can do is point people in right direction. Within that proviso, he provides clear and valuable information.
Mr. Borelli makes no promises that prospectors will get rich. He merely suggests that it is possible. He ends the opening chapter with "Take it step-by-step and read the chapters that follow, and you'll stand a good chance of becoming an Affiliate Millionaire yourself." If he starts the book by saying your chances are practically nil, no one will continue reading.
Like "gordo," I'm amazed that anyone could make millions at this. A million dollars in a year is $2,700 a day. You would have to consider yourself pretty successful with $2,700 a day in SALES, never mind commissions. You would have to strike it rich with multiple million-dollar campaigns. You would have to come up with new ones all the time.
Think of the millions in revenue Mr. Borelli is generating for the companies he advertises for. They should throw a party for him.
Didn't work for me.......2007-08-21
I tried the principles in this book. I set up some ads for a variety of products and different companies through Commission Junction and was, at first, delighted that I was getting a good amount of clicks. I was confident the ads were good enough because of some experience I've had in the past writing copy.
However, after over 250 clicks to major websites that boasted a large earnings per click, I got one sale and a large $ loss. The ads were good enough to catch the people's attention, but no one was buying.
I think this is a tough way to go at it. A website might be the better way to go. I am amazed that anyone could make any money doing this, never mind millions.
Direct and Immediately Useful.......2007-07-24
I was seeking a detailed, practical and thorough "how-to" approach to build internet-based revenue. This book filled the bill. It covered all key facets of the approach - particularly helpful for a layperson - as well as for someone with web-based experience (as am I). I have yet to test the specific recommendations. The book was solid.
Basic start but could leave you broke.........2007-07-12
Its true that money can be made by signing up for affiliate programs and marketing them on pay per click search engines. However, its possible to lose a great deal of money and this book doesn't do a good enough job helping people calculate the risks. For example, the author indicates he markets Amazon products. Amazon on its basic associate program pays 4%. A $20.00 book pays a comission of .80 cents. But in pay per click advertising a marketer can pay 30, 40 cents and even a dollar depending on the keywords. In a test marketing the new Harry Potter book (book 5) I spent over 9.00 in ppc ads that resulted in 4 sales. The click thru to sale was 13%... which isn't bad. The point is, I earned only about $2, but spent over $9.00 to earn it (a loss of $7.00). The author doesn't explain how to choose affiliate programs in terms of cost vs. payoff. Anyone who reads this book will get some basic information, but before spending money on ppc advertising they'd be better off buying The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords which does a better job explaining keywords, writing effective ads and managing campaigns.

Paul and Sarah Edwards have kept abreast of changing directions in small business through a series of eight bestselling books that began with their pioneering Working from Home, first published in 1985. Now, teaming up with computer industry journalist Linda Rohrbough, they've set their sights on the Internet and how to profitably incorporate it into an entrepreneurial operation. The book delivers on exactly what the title offers, Making Money in Cyberspace: The Inside Information You Need to Start or Take Your Own Business On-Line, and aims to flatten the learning curve for novice but interested small businesses. The nuts and bolts of working both within the medium (designing Web sites and providing associated services to others, for instance) and with it (selling various unrelated goods and services online) are thoroughly discussed from the small-business perspective, as are technical matters (such as choosing an entrepreneur-friendly ISP and setting up a credit-card account). Periodic profiles of those who successfully use cyberspace in their business--complete with relevant URLs--are also interesting and instructive. --Howard Rothman
Book Description
There's no question that the Internet is an increasingly effective place to sell goods or services; yet small and home-based businesspeople are without consulting giants to navigate the frontier of cyberspace for them. person who is considering starting or taking a business on-line.
Customer Reviews:
Filled with hot air.......2002-06-24
I thought this book would actually talk about ways you can make money in cyberspace. What a let down. It seems all the book talks about is how great the internet is and its advantages. I already knew the benefits of the internet before I read this book. Stay away from this one.
Stands the test of (Internet) time.......2001-08-11
When this book came across the desk, we thought "oh gosh, another out of date, get rich quick, internet how-to primer". Wrong, wrong, wrong.
Paul and Sarah Edwards seem to have a keyboard that turns whatever is typed into gold. The duo are noted for creating inspiring, hands-on, how-to books for the small time operator with big dreams, and this one is no different. In cyberspace, where one offline line year is the equivalent of ten online years, it is very difficult to write a book about the Internet that is not completely out of date by 3 p.m. the next day. This book though is one the few that can stand the test of time (or at least still be relevant next week).
The Edwards do the usual explaining, defining and exampling, but we were most impressed with their profiles. We visited several websites that were mentioned in the book and found all of them to still be in business! In the lightning fast "up and at `em" today "down and out" tomorrow atmosphere of the Internet this was truly a surprise. It just goes to show-if those entrepreneurs read this book and are still profiting, than maybe you will too.
Chock full of inspiring real life success stories, you'd do well to give this read your full attention.

Excellent cyberspace primer to making money on-line........2001-06-18
Don't let the title fool you... this book is not about the quick, get rich internet scams that proliferate around the web. This book is for the lay person who has a bricks and mortar business or who wants to start from scratch. The internet is not going away and it is possible, with hard work and this book as a guide, to make money using the internet as a tool. Buy this book and get out your highlighter... you'll find a great deal of information that you can put to use starting today!
Anyone Can Derive An Income From It!.......2000-08-02
Work-at-home experts Paul and Sarah Edwards, the authoring team of a series of leading working-from-home books, have teamed up with Linda Rohrbough to write Making Money In Cyberspace to encourage business people to take their existing businesses online and to invite others to test the waters of starting an online business from scratch themselves. This book will open up the exciting world of online business opportunities.
Making Money In Cyberspace was written to demonstrate that a number of traditional occupations including domestic, technical, and corporate level work can be conducted online from the comfort of a home or office. The authors cite a number of occupations that just about anyone can make a living from online. Check out the helpful checklist at the back of the book!
The book focuses a considerable amount of attention to the details of designing creative Websites that will effectively market an online business operation. Building and promoting effective Websites, developing content, advertising options, payment considerations, and selecting an Internet service provider are covered. A number of actual cases studies are provided to reinforce these important issues.
Readers will appreciate the fact that the authors have expressed themselves in a non-technical manner. Anyone can pick up this book and put it to use! It will make a great companion to other books written by these authors. This is sure to be a favorite among those who love what the Internet has to offer and desire to derive an income from it! This book would also make a nice gift!
A must read for all netrepreneurs and web designers.......1999-11-04
This book is great. Though the main focus is to show how people have become successful online, there's no hype about making billions overnite. Examples range from people who have made a few thousand dollars a year online, to people have made millions. The book reviews how some business ideas didn't work on the web at first, how how they had to change and adjust to get better results. Gets into some technical aspects too. Also a must read for web designers.

Best Business Guide to Internet.......1997-02-21
Vince and other readers,
I just ordered *eight more copies* of 'How to Grow Your Business,' to add to the one I already own. I plan on giving one to each member of my staff, because they keep asking me questions that are already answered so clearly in the book. And I will have a couple of copies to give away to friends, just in case.
I have seen Vince speak at conferences, and he really knows his stuff. He's low-key, has top-notch integrity, and cares about people. I have not found a more useful book on the subject, nor a nicer, more knowledgeable consultant.
He gets my highest recommendation.

Here is my COMPLAINT!.......1996-10-15
Dear Mr. Emery:
I am very sorry to have to register this complaint about
your book. I was halfway through reading it when I suddenly
realized the book was such a valuable asset that I could no
longer keep it in my house.
I now keep the book at my bank in a safe deposit box.
Unfortunately, this means I can only access the book during
banking hours. This is really frustrating because your book
is the most fact-filled and comprehensive source of doing
business on the Internet I have been able to find (and
believe me I've been looking!).
Please do not write any more books as I only have a very
small safe deposit box (besides the people in the bank are
starting to look at me suspiciously because of my frequent
visits to the vault).
Yours in humor,
Andre Demoraes

Internet Riches: The Simple Money-making Secrets of Online Millionaires
ASIN: 0452281687 |

After penning three popular Neatest Little Guides that deliver helpful information on investing and personal finance in user-friendly terms, Jason Kelly has moved away from personal money management with The Neatest Little Guide to Making Money Online. But, as he explains from the outset, in reality this is merely an offshoot of his previous books, because it focuses on "a new way to make additional money so that you actually have something left to manage after the bills have been paid." Those who have a worthwhile product to sell or service to provide--and who fully understand that no advice, no matter how clear and insightful, can ever guarantee success on the Net--will find it as comprehensive and useful as Kelly's earlier efforts. Under the "Getting Online Can Boost Your Bottom Line" mantra, it addresses every step, from the preliminary (buying the right computer, selecting the proper Web-hosting company, building and tracking your site) to the advanced (getting listed with top search engines, encouraging visitors to make your site their home page, using autoresponders to close sales), involved in making "your site the best it can be." --Howard Rothman

Customer Reviews:
The Neatest Book I've Read in a While.......2003-07-01
Jason Kelly's book The Neatest Little Guide to Making Money Online has been an invaluable asset to helping me to start my own on-line business. I had been wanting to have my own business for several years and didn't know where to start. Coming across his guide in a local bookstore was a stroke of luck. Here was a way to start a business almost risk free cost-wise, and it was also dependent on no one but myself. The book is geared to different levels of computer knowledge from the very beginner, to those who have some knowledge in certain areas like myself. I was able to read the intro and first chapter, skip the part about buying a computer and dive right into the software bit. Now I have a web site geared to something that I love making (Caesar Salad), and I get to use my artistic talents that I haven't known what to do with for so many years. I continually refer back to Mr. Kelly's book as a guide to see what I have to do next. I have followed his advice as to free services that have helped me to become listed with search engines and directories. Now I just have to wait and see what happens (and update my site of course). And if nothing happens it's okay because my investment has been very low-just a few dollars per month. A "neat little guide" indeed.
Great Value For The Money.......2001-12-16
Succinct, informative, and well-written, The Neatest Little Guide To Making Money Online is a great value. Admittedly, I am a novice at making money online, but in my opinion this book is a great starting place. Jason Kelly loads this book with well-researched resources for all aspects of successful website development, almost always suggesting reliable FREE alternatives to the pay-for-service resources on the net. It is fun and easy to read, and it contains no filler. Recommended.
An online business dream can come true........2001-07-10
For anyone interested in operating an online business, this is the book for you!Jason Kelly walks you through every step and covers all the bases in simple informative language that is consise and thorough. The book is fast and easy reading. Its greatest attribute is how Mr.Kelly demonstrates realistic achievements that are possible with an online business. No get rich schemes, just sensible suggestions and guidelines that make sense. I look foward to getting my business started.I keep"The Neatest Little Guide to Making Money Online"right next to my computer.
Steer Clear of This Junk.......2001-06-23
The Jason Kelly "Neatest Little Guide" franchise of books is sometimes inspired, and sometimes he just "phones it in". This book is an example of Kelly "phoning it in". Even absolute internet beginners will be scratching their heads over why there's a chapter devoted to "How to Buy a Computer". Obviously someone interested in making a website already has a computer. We're talking extreme basics here folks, and unless you've been dwelling in a cave for the last decade, you'll probably view most of this book as common sense. Sporting a 15 dollar price tag just reinforces the fact that everyone should steer clear of this book and buy their favorite CD instead.
GOOD PRIMER BOOK FOR MAKING MONEY ONLINE.......2001-02-28
Jason's book is a good primer for making money on the Web. It covers all the basics in a very clear way. The links to on line sites he lists are also a great help to beginners. You can spend weeks or months on the web searching for the "help" and"information" sites he lists. By using all of his tips and those you pick up from the sites he suggests you visit you will make money, not a fortune perhaps but as he states it will help to pay off the car or house.A good little book well worth the money.

A Great Contribution - Read this book first.......2007-08-25
It is difficult to watch television or even to drive around in one's hometown without finding an advertisement enticing the reader to get rich through using her or his computer. Most such efforts are about making the scam artists rich at the expense of the gullible. The victims targeted are motivated people, especially those living in small towns with sparse opportunities. Despite scammers' traps, the Internet truly enables one to remain in such a small town and expand opportunities to make a decent livelihood well beyond those available locally. The authors offer genuine opportunity. They have credibility because they have created their own opportunity in just such a town with sparse resources. Instead of a get-rich quick scheme, these authors offer a very reflective approach through a book that conveys honestly that there is much to know and that maintaining a successful E-commerce business is hard work. However, if seeking a book written to lead the reader by the hand to success, this is the one to buy. Authors address both PC and Macintosh equally--a rarity in most reference books, and you don't need the latest-greatest computer to do anything they tell you to do. Cyber Gold... is well written and well illustrated. If the reader has difficulty understanding the text, there's a picture; if picture and text fail to convey meaning, there's an example. This is a surprisingly fine reference for a person who is a consumer at E-commerce sites too. Knowing how to tell a secure site from an insecure or scam site by its URL is certainly good information for a consumer. Another audience could simply be those who build their own web sites, even if these are not E-Commerce sites. I've purchased books on building web sites such as Dreamweaver for Dummies, and the skills and knowledge are not nearly so clearly presented there as in this resource. This book doesn't present the information in the stuffy style of most references. Instead, the reader feels like he/she is just having a chat with the authors and learning the information through a prose that is genuinely friendly. The publisher of the "...for Dummies" series should hire the authors of Cyber Gold... to rewrite some of their texts. As soon as I cracked open this book, I went to the chapter on meta-tags and immediately improved my own web pages. Not only can readers get a good book, but also it appears from the Amazon pages that readers can take a course from the authors through an accredited university. This is a class act skillfully executed. If the authors put their course online, it will be huge--they may have to attend to that more than the business that they created. Although copyrights are addressed, trademarks are not. I would like to see the procedure for obtaining trademarks added to a future edition.
The other reviews are not accurate............2007-08-24
Okay, I purchased the book and even though the book was produced in 2007 the data is dated. For instance they briefly talk about the need for a computer and setting up an e-business, in the discussion the authors reference Pentium II and Pentium III processors. They also reference a dropshipping website and claim the membership cost is a one time $69.95 fee, the reality is that this dropshipper charges $300 to sign up. Don't get me wrong, there is some good data in the book. But it definitely isn't what I would consider a great book. I would save your money and look for something else.
Excellent.......2007-08-10
This book is excellent. It has everything you need to know on starting an Internet Business.
Best guide out there!.......2007-05-14
I was so pleased to find a book that had everything I needed, all in one volume (for once!). I can build my website or do the search engine optimization thing and I don't feel like I should be using a professional instead. There were also tons of pictures and real life examples that were so helpful. Thumbs up.

With a refreshingly honest approach to the subject, Kim Komando treats making money online like any other type of business venture. Rather than revealing super secrets, she applies good business sense, good business logic, and good business practices to the specific requirements of the online environment.
First, Komando candidly discusses the basic theory of online business and the necessary equipment. Then she moves to the specifics, from understanding customers and what makes them buy to selling products as compared with selling information or services. Komando gives guidelines on where to set up shop and how to become a Web master with a business-building mentality. From there, Cyberbuck$ discusses advertising, including how to place it, and what elements make for a good ad. Pay attention to the section on advertising by e-mail; Komando shows how you can get a bad online reputation for junk e-mail if you're not careful.
The section on building and maintaining customer loyalty is vital information for the long-term success of any business and twice as important in the mercurial world of cyberspace. The closing section conveys related issues that you must know to protect yourself, such as copyrights, security, and a host of legal and safety matters that can make or break a business. An enclosed CD-ROM offers the entire book in hypertext format.
Book Description
Hailed as a "one-person PC industry," Kim Komando is one of the best-known personalities in computing -- and there's no better authority when it comes to showing how online technologies can or can't help your company succeed. In
CyberBuck$, Komando shares her expertise and offers practical, how-to strategies you can use for marketing, selling, and communicating in ways that make the Internet's global reach and one-to-one marketing work for your business.
Plus, on the book's bonus CD-ROM, you'll find invaluable resources, including the contents of the book in special hypertext format, information on how Komando staff can create and host a Web page for you, and a one-month trial membership with America Online.
