Another powerful, practical book from Dan.......2007-07-28
Have you ever spent hours writing the perfect sales letter, only to send it out and get little or no response? This information-packed book is sure to show you where you went wrong. And it takes you through all the basic steps and concepts that go into writing amazingly effective sales letters. Of course, there's no substitute for practice, but this book will get you off to a solid start.
Known as the "No B.S." guy, Dan Kennedy is a crack copywriter and consultant who regularly helps clients make millions of dollars. From my personal experience (and I have a shelf full of Dan Kennedy's stuff), all his books are worth their weight in gold. But be warned, he has a straight-up, slightly sarcastic style of communication that you either love or hate. Personally, I love it. And I confidently recommend anything and everything Dan Kennedy writes or sells.
Great book with great ideas simplified.......2007-06-23
This book is as good as a thick textbook on copywriting. Mr. Kennedy doesnt waste words and gets to the point in every sentence in this book. Also of great interest are copies of sales letters he wrote for his clients.
What I liked about this book was chapter/step 6: Getting your sales letter read. There are generous examples of attention-getting headlines and fill in the blank headlines. A lot of these caught my attention and I'm very picky about which emails to open because I've looked at thousands of them, but the samples in this book are still good to use.
I like this book because it is like AWAI's copywriting course condensed into one book.
Read this book today and start writing better copy.
A Fantastic Reference Guide.......2007-06-13
I received this book in the mail and read the whole thing in one night! It was a very practical, no-nonsense, reference guide. This one has it's own special place on my desk. Buy it!

Dan The Man.......2007-10-01
I admit I am a big fan of Dan Kennedy,so I was not disappointed with the NO BS Sales Success. There are pearls of wisdom for the experienced salesperson as well as the newbie who still believes the customer really will "think about it"and get back to him. Well worth reading and re reading again.
No bs selling or an example of an infommercial book?.......2007-05-28
My profile: 43 yo beginner enterpreneur
It is very difficult to review this book, because in a way, I started in April 2005 and it is just now that I finished reading it. Add to that, that I received every week about 4 email newstletters from his website filled with valuable info on marketing, sales opportunities, etc as well as the pitch to buy his products.
- Does he deliver? Yes, but if you can tune to the metamessage
- Does he have methodology? yes, but he is almost shy of it and never expands on it. ( Too bad, it would be a classic in sales if he did)
- What he say, will it help you in the "real world"? If the "real world" is the US, maybe, if not, Im not too sure, adaptions have to be implemented.
Since I a not living in the US I can take this book with a grain of salt and see if it just "rides the well travelled roads of consumer behaviour of the US" or does he have something different to say on the matter? Remember, in US mass marketing, and aspects related to the "secret of sales", they are truly the masters in "selling the crap so neatly dressed in its golden wrap".
Dan is straight forward and we have to hand it to him, as his examples come rather blundtly.. yet, for timeless wisdom, there are a lot of other good sources, so it is not this that makes the book unique.
He positions himself in an aura of mystery, he only onced worked in sales surrounded by mediocre performers which he did not emulate, and then went on his own and earns milions of dollars by some sort of divine intervention that separated him from the pack.. . but he is willing you to tell you how, of course, if you invest $$$ to learn it, so in here is not the value of the book.
Somewhere 3/4th ahead, he shares one big secret with you, he goes back to the time he was an average Joe, with big dreams in his mind, with all the motivation and desire in his heart, he listened to all the tapes, yet he still had "moths in his wallet", then it dawn on him, if he could manage supply and demand in such a way that he will have more demand than the supply he can givem then he will always be rich, simple, right?
To me that was the slap in the face and the kick in the seat of the pants that I needed ( I am obviously leaving details out). I agreed with him totally: its not cold calling, is not the sales numbers game, is not all of those worn out mindless "shoot to everything that moves" strategy that will get you ahead.. I laughed at the reviewer who summarized part of the strategy as "playing hard to get".. well, I guess you can say it that way, but I view as he does, you have to "position" yourself in the mind of target segment.. and he gives you examples to do this (finally, he gives away somthing "proprietary" that is not taken from "Poor Richard's Almanac"). As a matter of fact, now you beging to see that the whole book is an infommercial destined to leading you to a new purchase as Scherezade would do with the sultan in 1001 nights..
No, the book does not give away the secrets as how to position yourself, but gives very good guidelines, so maybe you don't have to fall for the "Never cold call again" type of book.
As a beginner enterpreneur I thought that my knowledge of the client base, given my my years working in a corporation that gave me an "aura" of an expert supplier, was enough to assure me success, now in the light of this book, I can see where I am missing out, just for this the book has value.
packed with information, and advertisements..........2007-01-19
I got this book after reading another of Dan Kennedys books. I was not disappointed. After all the book was less than ten dollars, so my expectations were not all that high. I was pleasantly surprised.
Dan talks about many ways to sell and market more, better and faster. The book is packed with information and many shameless plugs for the author, who is the king of shameless plugs. But it obviously seems to be working for him. I think the plugs have a lot to teach also. Look at the way he throws it in and then use them for your own self promotion.
Overall it was an excellent book made even better by its low cost.
A MUST-READ for All Marketers.......2006-12-26
If you're in business or marketing, you need to read ALL of Dan Kennedy's books.
Dan is no B.S. and I love his books!.......2006-02-25
I have several books by Dan Kennedy he is the ulimate for getting down to business.

Just Average.......2007-06-12
I didn't find this book as good as some of the reviews that I read before I ordered it. It has some very good points, but nothing really new. I think it lacked talking more about brainstorming ideas for clients, solutions outside of the norm, selling with passion and enthusiasm, how to get moving when your struggling and so on.... so I had to give it an average rating because it just didn't "hit me" enough to really recommend it.
The Ultimate Sales Manager.......2007-05-07
The book is informative and helpful. I would recommend this for new management or a review for older sales managers. It is helpful to get fresh motivating ideas or a refresher of the old.
Wow! This is the book!!!.......2007-03-25
Ok, ok, ok.
If you think like I was, shure you think "ok, this book is another one that think is the best in the field".
I was thinking like this until I received and read the book!
It is fantastic in all aspects about sales.
Conclusion: if you have any doubts about SALES, THIS IS THE BOOK!!!

THE ULTIMATE SALES MANAGERS' GUIDE by John Klymshyn should be required reading for anyone who represents a product for sale or for service. The principals Klymshyn presents target the sales culture, but offer valuable lessons to anyone leading a team in today's competitive jobmarket. Motativing teams, retaining the best personnel, and rewarding individuals for productivity are keys to every segment of the business world.
There is nothing secret about Klymshyn's approach to motivating teams. The book isn't filled with Klymshyn's personal advice and motivational one-liners. The strength of THE ULTIMATE SALES MANAGERS' GUIDE is its structure and organization of practical material that is doable today.

Good Book unless you are "in" M&A.......2007-08-23
This book is fine for business owners looking to understand the M&A process. I was recently hired as an associte at a M&A firm. I have my MBA and found most information in the book to be elementary.
Wonderful Introduction to the M&A Process.......2004-03-02
Tom Taulli, media savant and expert dealwatcher, has penned a volume that is useful, comphrensive, and readable. Bravo!
A Great Acquisition !.......2004-01-22
This book is a terrific read for any business person who has been, will be, or wants to be in Mergers and Acquisitions. Tom Taulli does a great job educating and advising the reader. This is a must have book for investment bankers, business brokers and dealmakers, but especially for executives of companies who are considering selling or acquiring other businesses.
A Must read for any M&A Professional.......2004-01-11
The Complete M&A Handbook is a great read. I plan on buying several copies to hand out to clients. The explanations are very clear and concise. Yet detailed enough for a professional to put in the tool box for reference.
M & A for Dummies (and Experts, too).......2004-01-01
Tom Taulli is the expert that has taken a complex, multi-layered technical subject and put it in a form that all M&A participants can easily read, easily understand and easily put to immediate and extensive use. I am an educated, experienced Venture Capitalist and M&A intermediary professional that has learned lots of new techniques and tips from Tom, while having a thoroughly enjoyable time reading about a subject that is not new to me. I'm sending all my clients and business associates a copy of Tom's book, as it will enhance their knowledge about how to do business in M&A and encourage a higher degree of professionalism, effectiveness and efficiency in an otherwise complex and confusing process. Tom makes understanding M&A easy, or at least much less mysterious. Book is a great reference source for those that have questions about the process while engaged in M&A, regardless of their role in the process. BUY IT! You will use it for years.

Good book, but not in good condition........2006-09-16
Very good book. However, when I recived my copy, the spine was pulling way from the outside spine. Other than that, good read.
more than a rehash.......2005-10-16
This is an excellent supplement to those Mud People who are fascinated by the Faery folk. Unlike a lot of tie in books, this is not written by publisher's staffers to squeeze a few more shekels from the consumer.
This is a stand alone work of which provides history of into magick society and insight into the Fowl characters.
Definitely worth reading.
This is a great book.......2005-10-11
Iam in fifth gread and I gave this book a five star books because it was a wonderful book.I think you should read this book I think you would love this book. If you don't like this book... you should read it and you will fall in love with it. I did and so will you. If you realy should realy is a good book. You would realy like thik you should like this book. If you don't like the ARTEMIS FOWL YOU SHOULD RETHINK AGAIN.
A Great Book!.......2005-10-06
What if failure was not an option? Giving up on something never happened, or failure was not just a crutch to fall onto. This lifestyle would be perfect for Holly Short from the story The Artemis Fowl Files. She never takes no for an answer, never settling for second best. This is her style and she gets through life with amazing success because of her mentality. I think that this is a good life theme. It would be useful for everyday work.
Holly is a police officer for the LEP, a fairy organization that protects the underground cities. She is happy with her job but feels like something is missing, she wants to become an elite fairy and work in recon. The only thing is that there has never been a female fairy to make it into recon and it is a hard job. This does not scare her; she is a good police officer. She is not going to lose sight of her dream when she has worked so hard to get this far. This shows her mentality is to never give up and always follow her dreams.
I thought this was a well written book that was a good read. It was even fun because of all the things that are in the middle of the book to do while reading the book. I liked the first story in the book more than the other one because oh how strong Holly's character is.
Great!.......2005-08-04
There are fascinating interviews with the major characters from the Artemis Fowl series, and a dictionary..etc. The two short stories are still interesting and funny as any other book Mr. Colfer wrote. Definetly Read this wonderful book!

Good primer on the high-level process.......2007-04-16
The pros:
- This book describes the high-level buying process for condos and co-ops.
- Gives good overview of closing costs.
The cons:
- I later found almost all of the information I used in this book on-line.
- Advice is mostly high-level and generic. This info is still useful, however, if you're completely new (as I was) to the New York market.
- No advice on how to find recent comparable condo/co-op sale info in New York.
- Little to no advice on the negotiating process.
- The chapter on how to decide if it's better to rent or buy is completely stacked in favor of buying. For example, the author fails to mention the 6% broker's fee you're going to incur when you sell your place (unless you choose to sell it on your own). He also fails to compare buying a house (which he correctly notes is a highly leveraged investment) to the returns of similarly risky and leveraged investments in other assets (e.g. stock portfolios bought on margin). He also fails to mention how much money you're likely to have to spend updating and upgrading your home to be able to sell it for a price you're happy with.
- Much less advice regarding selling than buying (silver lining: knowing some of the advice the author gives to sellers - e.g. how to sell a dark apartment - can be useful to buyers as well)
The Book I Always Recommend To Friends.......2006-11-28
This book is short and to the point. If you learn and understand what's in here, you'll know more than 90% of the real estate brokers out there!
Walks you through the basics of the process, each step of the way.
