Book Description
Anytime, anyplace, Ethan Crane's your man. An agent's agent, he's tough, smart, and fearless. Exactly the guy you want when the stuff hits the fan--and precisely the kind Beth Whitney avoids like the plague. It took a fiancé (make that ex-fiancé) in the business to teach her, but she's learned her lesson: Don't. Date. Agents. Ever. It's this little rule that's kept her gainfully employed at the agency, doing her part for world security from behind a desk. So when a case throws the two together, Beth's determined to keep it strictly professional. So far, so good--except for the steamy kisses, the red-hot phone sex, and...What was that rule again?
To Ethan, Beth couldn't be less his type if her father ran the agency, which, oh yeah, her father does run the agency. Still he can't help but be impressed by her inspired work in the field--a total turn on. Off the field it's even better. Seems the old adage that opposites attract happens to agents too. Even if Beth insists it's just a fantasy. But hot pursuit of a notorious information broker is what they should focus on--not each other. That can wait until they've accomplished a job well done. Or can it?

Very Very Disappointed...............2007-09-27
I was really looking forward to this book, because the second one of this set was a let down and I didn't actually finish reading that one either. I should have just went with that instinct. I don't know if Ms. Monroe was being paid by the word or what. But the internal dialogue of the characters would just go on and on. I became so fustrated, I began not to care. I saw that she has a new book coming out, I don't know if I shall even buy that one. What started out with some promise has fizzled terribly.
good, but not up to her standards.......2007-07-04
first off let me say i love lucy monroe's writing and if you haven't read "ready, willing, and able" go read them as soon as possible. satisfaction guaranteed was good, but not really up to her standards of writing. at some points in the book i found myself skimming trying to find an exciting, edge of your seat part, but i'm sorry to say i never really found any such section.the sex scenes were nice and i liked most of the plot,i just felt like it could have been better. the book's potential to be really enjoyable is there just not quite fulfilled.i don't regret reading the book and if any of you are huge fans of her i don't believe you'll regret reading it either, but if you're new to her don't stop here because all her other work is AMAZING.
007 James Bond Romance!.......2007-06-09
I enjoyed this book! It picks up from Ready, Willing and Able (triology set) as some of the characters reenter this book, but not in a big way. I thought the book was well written, moves right along, doesn't require a lot of concentration to keep up with (I LIKE THAT!), has some steam. Both characters are likeable. I thought it was going to be about "agents" like movie stars that sort of thing. It's about "agents" like 007/FBI type stuff. FYI It was a good read!
Doesn't deliver what its title promises.......2007-06-04
After being left at the altar, Beth Whitney makes herself a promise. No more dating agents. Her fiance, an FBI agent, missed their wedding because he was involved in a case. Beth promises herself that she will never again allow herself to fall in love with a man who will put his occupation before his relationship with her. As the daughter of an intelligence agent, Beth knows what it's like to grow up in a family where she feels second best because of her father's dedication to his job. Beth wants more for herself and for any family she might have in the future.
Beth decides to completely change her life after her failed wedding and leaves her job as an investment analyst to work for her father at a covert intelligence agency known as The Goddard Project. She finds her administrative work there fulfilling, and it allows her to show another part of her personality that is interested in the intrigue and mystery of life as an agency without the dangers. She is also allowed to meet strong, sexy agents like Ethan Crane. Ethan is everything that Beth is not looking for in a man, but she finds herself attracted to his hard body, charming personality, and charismatic demeanor.
When a project forces she and Ethan to be paired as agents, Beth and Ethan must work in such close proximity that she is forced to deal with her attraction to him. To her amazement, Ethan also seems to be interested in her. When they being preparing to work on the case, living together and working together raise the level of intimacy until Ethan and Beth wind up as lovers as well as coworkers.
Satisfaction Guaranteed was okay, but not great. The story dragged at points, and I actually put it down for a week while I read other things. Beth's personality seems to change depending on her situation throughout the novel. At times she's a take charge woman, confident in her abilities and what she wants for her future. At others she's insecure, unsure of what she wants, and willing to sacrifice love for the image of what she thought she wanted but knows isn't what she needed. It was difficult to respect her since she couldn't manage to make up her own mind, which made me have hard time making up mine.
Also, I was unconvinced that the author had done enough research as far as the intelligence agencies were concerned. I didn't understand what sort of "agents" were being discussed at the beginning of the book, and got the impression that someone had watched a few too many episodes of Alias and Passions (Ethan Crane, anyone?) rather than doing the necessary research to write a book about espionage. As a whole, Satisfaction Guaranteed was unable to deliver what its title promised.

Beth Whitney wishes she could wake up from the peculiar dream she's having about work. She's the Central Administration Agent for a secret government agency called The Goddard Project. Her father heads the agency, and he's just hired a new agent: Alan Hyatt, the man who left Beth at the altar three years earlier. Was a little warning too much to expect? To make things even more uncomfortable, one of their top agents, Ethan Crane, has just returned from his latest mission. He just happens to be the star of Beth's most secret fantasies. Under her father's watchful eye, Beth needs to deal with both men at the same time. Come to think of it, the situation is more like a nightmare.
Things get even more bizarre for Beth when her father asks her to work as a field agent on an important case. Sure, Beth trained in the basics as an agent, but she never expected or even wanted to work anywhere but the office. And naturally Ethan Crane is the agent in charge. He'll be posing as Beth's jealous, possessive boyfriend. If she agrees to the assignment, Beth will need to get herself hired as a personal investment counselor to a man the agency is trying to take down. She has the financial experience and bookish personality to handle the job, but her relationship with Ethan will have to be absolutely convincing at all times. Intellectually, Beth knows it will all be pretense for the sake of the case, but it won't be easy to keep her emotions out of the picture.
Ethan Crane thrives on danger. The strikingly gorgeous, capable agent chooses the riskiest assignments at work, and extreme sports are his preferred form of relaxation. Ethan has never been in a relationship that lasted more than a couple of months and he likes it that way. Although he doesn't live near his family in Texas anymore, they're still an important part of his life. Ethan would love to learn more about the serious, quietly attractive Beth, but he plans to be cautious. She's the boss's daughter, after all. Ethan is intrigued by the unexpected facets of Beth's personality that emerge once she's away from the office. He's also strangely threatened by newly-hired agent Alan Hyatt's mysterious relationship with Beth.
When Beth agrees to the field assignment, Ethan doesn't want to waste any time learning everything he can about her. The more they know about each other, the better their cover and the greater chance their mission will succeed. Is Ethan only interested in Beth for the sake of the case? She guards her heart closely, and never plans to offer it to an agent again. Will Ethan break through her defenses?
As always, Lucy Monroe gets everything right. Who can resist page after page of smoldering, seductive heat as Ethan brings Beth's deepest fantasies to life in vivid detail? Beth may seem shy and quiet on the outside, but her conservative, professional demeanor is merely one facet of her complex personality. She's introspective, a dreamer, and her failed relationship with Alan has left her wary of truly living. Beth is so different from her parents, it's sometimes hard to believe she's actually part of the same family. She wants children and a husband who will put his family first, something she's sure can never happen with a man like Ethan. He's devoted to his job, and doesn't do relationships. Ethan is exactly wrong for Beth, and they both know it. But the sensual, erotic side of Beth drives Ethan wild with desire. He admires her quick mind, her work ethic, and even her yearning for a family. I hoped Ethan and Beth wouldn't simply walk away from each other when their mission was complete. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED definitely lives up to its title!

Book is "Recommended" !.......2003-10-04
This is the first book listed under Recommended Reading in George Silverman's newer book called The Secrets of Word-of-Mouth Marketing, a book I've read by an author I appreciate. I'm buying this book on his recommendation and think it ought to have a few more stars!
This book does not help........1999-08-13
This book is a bible of common sense. Anyone who has succeeded in business to the slightest degree will not need to read this book. Everything in the book is true, but it ALL COMMON SENSE. It's for amateurs. I'm shocked that he was able to milk 301 ways out of the little bit of knowledge that he has.

Customer Reviews:
Unsatisfying.......2007-10-22
Other reviewers are calling this BL, but this really seems to be a platonic-if-slashy, straight-but-pretty-boy partnership manga to me, along the lines of xxxHOLIC, LEGAL DRUG, or HANDS OFF!. It is definitely aimed at the female reader, but the relationship seems pretty frankly to be a friendship, not a love affair, and not likely to become one. Just my guess.
Either way, it doesn't matter, because the relationship is so poorly developed that it doesn't work either way. In a way, I find it fascinating to see the author trying so hard to reproduce a fairly common relationship dynamic, and failing so miserably. I guess it is harder to do than CLAMP makes it look.
Our hero is an odd-job detective who has been traumatized by the death of his parents in a fire, so now fire makes him freak out. His teen-supermodel partner has a split personality due to the pressure of the modeling industry, and he was starting to be afraid that his "model" self was taking over his normal self. They meet, and instantly establish themselves as best friends, partners, and somehow the cure for each other's traumas in a page or two of painfully forced dialog.
Since the relationship is simply declared rather than developed, it never becomes real to the reader. Nor does it prove useful means of exploring the characters as individuals, since they seem to know everything they need to know about each other in the first story. By Book 4, I am still very hazy on who these people are beyond their character descriptions, and why they care for each other beyond their clunky declarations of devotion. Their interaction still seems unnatural and forced.
Aside from this, there is a recurring problem with the stories themselves, which seem to all be about people who turn into obsessive stalkers for some lame whiny reason. No matter how insane, deranged, and psychotic their behavior, we always seem to end up listening to some sob story, and to which our heroes respond with a brief scolding. This happens over and over and over again. The result is neither scary menace nor wacky absurdity. It's just unpleasant and vaguely creepy.
The author seems to have some odd attitudes. In one later volume, 1) a deranged girl kidnaps Shima and chains him to a collar in a deserted building, and 2) Kaori gets affectionately kissed on the cheek by his sister. Saenagi seems confused that her female readers were upset at the first incident, but not the second -- and the "sister" factor is the only significant difference she can come up with to explain it. Then in volume 4, a girl who hates abusive men because her father beat her mother gets cured of her man-hating when Our Heroes kindly assure her that her mother was asking for it.
The character designs are nice, the heroes are amiable, and some of the humor does work. I sort of enjoy the All Purpose Person, Shima's odd-job detective rival. As of Book 4, it looks like the mystery of who killed Shima's parents is going to be an ongoing plot thread. But in four books it really hasn't improved much, and I don't have much hope for it. A bookstore read at best.
About average.......2007-06-11
As other reviewers have mentioned, the story does seem a bit weak - the 2 leads become super-close friends in about 2 pages' worth of story, with no real explanation given. I have been trying to learn to draw manga just because I've been reading so much of it lately...so I'm noticing illustration quality a lot more...some of these illustrations (most notably faces in 3/4 profile) are rather poorly-drawn, either looking too flat, or the dimensions are clearly off, or whatever.
But I do like the guys in the story, and the little mysteries are interesting, so I will probably continue with this series. Just not at a breakneck pace like I did with "Ouran."
Not Satisfied.......2006-09-18
This manga looks like it has all the right elements for a cute fun boy love manga. It has the cute crossdressing uke with the tragic past, the cool model seme with a split personality, and a detective/Jack-of-all-trades job that brings them together. It's a great set up.... but it doesn't work. It feels empty, the characters are boring, the missions are cheesy, and the relationship is all jumpy. They go from just meeting to risking their lives for each other with no inbetween. Also it feels like either the writing or the translations are off. Like there were big pieces of the story missing or something. Plus the art was pretty bad, not the worst, but not as good as the cover art. All in all, if your looking for a cute boy love series try Gravitation, Our Kingdom, Challengers, or Shout Out Loud (Or Hana-Kimi for a touch of bl, shojo series).
Fun BL title.......2006-08-06
I really enjoyed Sequence so I was looking forward to this one which doesn't waste time hooking our guys up, although, at least in Vol 1, it is solidly BL with no bedroom action. Lots of humor as is usual with the genre.
Shima's the elder(uke) of the pair-18 or 20 & scarred by his parents dying in a fire to where smoke or fire sends him into a panic. Kaori is 16-still in school. Mom was the obsessive stage mom so he developed Kyo, his model persona which, prior to meeting Shima, Kaori feared would take over so his real self would vanish forever. It's another jack-of-all-trades agency not unlike we see in GetBackers, Trash & Skyscrapers of Oz. Snowman's actually just the first case-there are 4 or 5 cases as I recall-we meet the agency's rival in the second from the last-heiress being threatened, keeps being saved by APP, a popular internet jack-of-all-trades & also something of a split personality like Kyo & he plays competition in the last case. There are no big mysteries here, but that's not what we're looking for.
It's breezy BL fare fans of the lighter side of Gravitation should like.
Book Description
Yoshitsune finds himself chained up--literally--in an apartment! But his latest client isn't into any weird fetishes...she has imprisoned him so that she could have him all to herself. Yoshitsune reminds her of someone special in her life--but is she really barking up the wrong tree?
Book Description
This timeless account of the rise of the mass market in America includes a new preface.
This sweeping history provides the reader with a better understanding of America's consumer society, obsession with shopping, and devotion to brands. Focusing on the advertising campaigns of Coca-Cola, Kellogg's, Wrigley's, Gillette, and Kodak, Strasser shows how companies created both national brands and national markets. These new brands eventually displaced generic manufacturers and created a new desire for brand-name goods. The book also details the rise and development of department stores such as Macy's, grocery store chains such as A&P and Piggly Wiggly, and mail-order companies like Sears Roebuck and Montgomery Ward. 126 b/w photographs and illustrations.
Customer Reviews:
Detailed.......2004-06-18
This is a very detailed economic history of wholesaling and retailing from about 1880 to 1930. The first chapter describes how Proctor and Gamble set out about creating consumer demand for a completely new product, Crisco, in 1912. In this chapter, Strasser eloquently points out "Human needs...are cultural constructs....Some people need yams and breadfruit, others Post Toasties and Kellogg's corn flakes." Now there's a thought worth pondering, as we consider "Do we need a second car in the family? Do we need a new TV? Do we need dental floss?"
After reading some of Strasser's other books, I expected this book to focus more on this topic of need creation in the world of American manufacturing. However, much of the rest of the book is devoted to documenting business practices during the period. Subsequent chapters cover labeling and branding as a means of establishing consumer confidence and brand loyalty, the shift away from middlemen in the chain of distribution from producers to retailers, advertising as a way to introduce new products and habits to consumers, early marketing and promotion practices, the development of the self-service grocery store and the rise of retail chains and government regulations of the period affecting retailing and food. The book is amply illustrated with black and white reproductions of period ads, photographs, and cartoons. Source material is referenced with unnumbered endnotes; there is no separate bibliography or list of suggested readings. The book includes an index.
I found reading this book through to be a tough slog. The style is highly academic, and the details tend to obscure the big picture. I found myself lost in the details, waiting for her to address the main points. I wanted to learn more about how manufacturers had changed American culture. Looking back and reflecting on what Strasser wrote, I can see that she did indeed tackle these topics, but there was so much information about the history of manufacturing and retailing and marketing that I missed what I was looking for in the first place. That said, the book still represents a fine piece of academic research. Her overview of the development of marketing and retailing practices in America from 1900-1930 is particularly well-researched and her illustrations are varied and well-chosen. All in all, the book wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it was still well worth reading.
Satisfaction Guaranteed.......2000-12-11
Strasser's book is carefully researched and is devoted to an examination of the American mass market which emerges out of the growth of mass production techniques. Her use of advertising documents the shift from product-based to consumer-based ads that was necessary to establish a national market.
Book Description
Sex is one of the purest forms of human endeavor--the ultimate arena of sharing between people. It is the nourishing confluence of so many special elements: touch, physicality, communication, play, arousal, and intimacy. So why so often does the entire focus of sex for women become: Will I have an orgasm or won't I? Wouldn't it be wonderful--for both men and women--if female orgasm were no longer an uncertainty, but rather, a given?
Dr. Barbara Keesling allows this fantasy of sexual fulfillment to be any woman's reality--following her unique exercises designed to strengthen and gain control over a little-known, rarely exercised internal area of the female body, it is possible for all women to control and guarantee orgasm! Once loving partners are no longer worried about climax, the pressure often associated with lovemaking gives way--and sex can reach its full potential.
To this end, Dr. Keesling paves the way for wonderful sensual payoffs by including racy and romantic exercises to help couples rediscover that sex is much more than striving for a big finish--it's the sensual stops along the way that make it worthwhile.
Customer Reviews:
Not the answer to my questions.......2004-10-28
This book presents sex as the result of a lot of exercise and the magic touch to two places in the vagina. I could not even finish reading it. If you only want one or two books about female orgasm in your library, this is not the one to buy. If you would like to read as much as possible about female orgasm, I recommend it. I did learn a few new things..
Barbara gives women permission to rekindle their drive........2001-06-28
I think this book belongs in the hands of every woman who notices her libido is not what it used to be. I am well into the exercises and already I am feeling more alive, more confident, sexier, and enjoying making love much more. Barbara presents her information in ways that do not make the reader feel uninformed or naive; she gives the reader permission to engage as much or as little in the process as the reader wants. Many of my friends in my age group (I am approaching 60) lament their diminishing interest in sex. I am giving this book to each of them and hoping they get the same positive results.
This is a powerful book that works!.......2001-06-01
Barbara really knows her stuff and she has a wonderful ability to communicate her thoughts to the reader. Every woman should own a copy of this book-many men would be very, very happy! All of her books are wonderful tools to help the reader have a more pleasurable, sensual life!
Pretty good.......2001-02-06
Knew some of the stuff. The exercise are pretty common knowledge I think. If you want some good ideas this is a great book!

Great gift at trainings/workshops or for new managers!.......1999-04-14
The average manager has no time to read big books. This one can be enjoyed during the "quiet" moments to calibrate your mindsetting. The book contains 236 short sentences that each can make you think about your own mind setting and that of your employees. Great tool to come back to the basics of Customer Satisfaction.
236 ideas was inspirational, but not worthwhile for training.......1999-03-23
This is probably a good book for thoughtful managers who don't know where to start with understanding customer satisfaction. It was not worthwhile for training modules on customer service. It is written in large print - one piece of advice on each page like a book of poetry. "If you have a high customer turn over rate, you're probably not doing a good job of training your employees" is the kind of advice you can count on from this book. Would make a nice gift for a new manager, but not practical for me.
