I am surprised at some of the negative reviews.
I have started over a dozen businesses over the past 26 years. This book is an excellent overview and help to business owners. If you're expecting one book to give you all the answers and then trash the book because it didn't, you're not dealing with reality.
If you're experienced in business this book will give you many helpful reminders to keep you on track.
If you're inexperienced in business this book is one of the best to give you an overview and starting point.
I haven't yet bought any of Brad's other books but I will be giving some of them a try soon.
The Biggest Scam Ever!!.......2007-08-28
I purchased two of the series because its high ratings. Then when I went back and read the review again, I found an very interesting pattern. That is, all the reviewers who give 4's or 5's to the series are the same people. What is more, when you see their review history, you will find that they only have reviews for the series only. What a coincidence!
I am not implying the author or his company fake the rating. I am just pointing out the fact for yourself to decide. And I think amazon should definitively take action to investigate this kind of activities. I lose faith in amazon's rating system because of this incident.
A disappointed book lover
Business coaching - good advice with a sales pitch attached.......2007-07-03
The book was a very good read, and contained a great amount of helpful ideas and concepts to help small businesses grow. It is also very informative, in a generalized way, to someone looking to start a coaching business. The details are saved for the franchise pitch that is strongly hinted at throughout the book. I enjoy Mr. Sugars style of writing and ability to get across his point quickly, without a lot of extra fluff. The story format made the reading enjoyable.
Business Success from Start to Finish.......2007-06-07
I really liked this book because the format used a case study of Joe and Nellie's business to walk through the process of transforming their business into a commercial, profitable enterprise that works without them.
I liked the way the process unfolded, using examples and teaching to help Joe and Nellie implement changes in their business. The important areas covered included the 6 Steps to Business Success, 5 Ways to Improve Profit, and the 6 Keys to a Winning Team. This enabled me to put theory into practice and see the results clearly illustrated at each step along the way.
The other benefit I got was seeing how a business coach works to educate, motivate, and inspire entrepreneurs to fill in the gaps in their knowledge and make the changes they know they need to make to improve their business and lives.

Can't Find/Train/Keep Good Employees?.......2007-06-12
If you want to regain the sanity you've lost by repeating the same hiring mistakes over & over again, read this book! Brad Sugars points out that if you want a different result, you have to do something differently. Learn about various personality types and where they fit best in your organization. (Maybe you have some good people in the wrong places!) Walk through the 6 Keys to a Winning Team and lay the groundwork BEFORE you hire the next employee and set them up to fail! Speaking of hiring, be sure to check out the Action 4-hour hiring format. Use the input and leverage of your existing Team Members to help select the right candidates and get them started off on the right foot.

This is an excellent work by Brad Sugars. Brad does a great job of making a difficult subject easy to understand. Since team building is a critical for all small and medium sized businesses, this is a must read for business owners. It is full of practical advise about "how to" build your team.

Brad Sugars does an excellent job of showing the independent how to find a successful team. In todays business world, team is one of the biggest challenges facing company expansion. Brad introduces great methods designed to help COE's and business owners refine their selection methods. His direct method of presentation is refreshing and informative. I recommend this read to anyone trying to find the right mix in their business, especially in todays world shorthanded staffing and endless dollars spent on hiring the wrong person.

In today's hectic world, we all have a strong need to find inner peace. All too often people turn to destructive behavior (alcohol, drugs, sex or other tension relievers) as a diversion rather than finding methods that will lead to the peace they seek.
Charles Manz has given us some great, easy to use, easy to understand methods to gain sanity in the moment.
Most of us have heard expressions like, "living in the moment" and "living in flow" without a good explanation of what those expressions really mean. Manz does an excellent job of showing that this moment is all we have and that most suffering is a result of resistance. If you want to suffer less, learn to let go, to accept what is.
While it is a very good book, the lessons must be internalized and used to produce Temporary Sanity. That is, simply reading the book will not change you. You will need to work on implementing the strategies outlined in the book. If you put some effort into implementing the tools given in the book, it will change your life. But it takes some work and action on your part.

The book itself is a well structured process of developing a business plan that has served me well. By adding the downloadable software, it greatly enhances the process, making it easy to use and improves the likelihood that users will create a professional business plan. It is so much easier to tailor something than to start from scratch. I think the book is an excellent value.

This, no nonsense book is a must have. If you are serious about working with people. about caring about the people you work with (and who work for you) you must read this book. No, you must own this book. It is the best guide to successful people management that I have ever seen. It is to the point and it works. The practical advice given and the way the book explores options assist you in understanding human dynamics. If you are unsure about whether or not you are a people person, read it anyway.
