Feng Shui - Simplified!.......2007-07-10

This book makes feng shui easy and fun! Karen Rauch Carter uses the Black Hat style which is a very simple, but effective, form of feng shui. With this book you don't need a compass, pendulum or certified feng shui expert, in order to enjoy the benefits of this timeless art. You'll be able to start making changes to your home, and your life, immediately with the easy to follow instructions that are provided.

Inside, you will find a chapter for each of the 9 sections of the Bagua. Immediate action items and a short summary are provided at the end of each chapter, which can be referred to over and over. Karen will keep you entertained though out the entire book with her quirky sense of humor! She also provides loads of examples and stories of how feng shui can improve your life. I am an antique dealer, by trade, and I own my own business. I can honestly say that after decluttering my laundry room (my prosperity area) and painting it a pretty shade of lavender, I immediately noticed and increase in sales at my shop!

Just A Tip: Make sure you read chapter 12 before you start making changes in your home, the affirmations in this chapter will make all of your actions much more effective!

This is probably on the top five list of good feng shui books that I've ever read. Very informative and easy to understand and follow. It's really put together nicely.

While I do think there is definately something to harmonizing the energy around you, I don't think that moving your stuff is any guaranteed way to bring a certain thing to yourself. I have a love/hate relationship to books like this. I find some really good ideas, and some I think are silly and just don't work. I know that there are other issues involved. -Like what's in a person's birth chart for example. If someone is having a difficult planetary aspect in their money house, then, no amount of moving furniture/furnishings is going to change that aspect. Although, I do think it COULD help the person deal with it better. By moving something, it could represent a shift in how one has arranged or re-arranged their thinking about the problem. So, in that way, I think it could have a beneficial side.

I found many interesting things in this book, for example, in my helpful people/travel section of my home, that's where I already have the computer (World wide web) and I just happened to have a world map there. I found a lot of other helpful information too.

This is a fun and interesting book, and it's not gonna hurt anything to give something a try afterall. Just see what works for you.

Excellent explanations and suggestions without getting bogged down in thousands of years of history. Written in 21st century speak with humor and intelligence. The best Feng Shui book in my bookcase (I have a few) -topping Lilian Too's series. Even tells you the anecdote when the sink is in your romance corner!

I LOVED this book, and I am having so much fun with this, I have completely redecorated my home, using mostly stuff I already had, and all my friends are commenting "What have you done?" "It feels different in here" and "Everything seems to flow better". I hung a cutglass windchime in my missing "family" space to energize the space as recommended, and within minutes my youngest daughter called me. Amazing! And so much FUN! Now I am waiting for my romance energy to imporove!

I purchase several feng shui books and this one was the easiest to understand. However, nothing happened after purchasing several hundred dollars of feng shui items. Instead it seems bad things were happening to me. I junked all the stuff. I think it's total nonsense and more like witchcraft...stay away from it.

As a student of the Law of Attraction for six years now, I have bought nearly every book related to this subject, however, this was the first book I had found in workbook format. I truly loved this book because it was easy to read and since it is in workbook format, it was fun to fill in the answers especially because the answers pertain to my life! I did not have to go and buy a special journal or find scratch paper to write out my intentions and dreams. It makes it so easy to go back through what I have written with respect to my desires, visions, and goals. Everybody should get this book! David's book is the REAL 'Secret'.

Contradicts "The Secret" DVD.......2007-09-18

After seeing the movie "The Secret" I thought it might be helpful to get a workbook to help me with the principles they teach regarding The Law of Attraction. However, the first thing I noticed upon opening this workbook is that the first 42 pages ask you to write down every NEGATIVE thing you can think of about your life! You are asked to fill in the blanks regarding what you worry about most, what you struggle with, what you are concerned about, with your life partner, with your family, about money, about your career, and on and on. When I watched The Secret, my first impression was that you should not even dwell on these things AT ALL. So it seems as right at the beginning this book violates the first principle -- CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS! Then, once the book does get around to the part where your write how you would like your life to be, it specifically asks to you write down HOW YOU EXPECT TO ACCOMPLISH these changes! (i.e. "You need to move beyond listing the things you need to change and begin to focus on what you are going to do to attract each of the things . . .") This specifically contradicts another principle revealed in The Secret, which stated that you do not have to KNOW how it will come about, and you do not have to try to figure out yourself HOW IT WILL COME ABOUT! This appears to be one of those typical self-help books that have been published in the past, and it seems to have been just slightly adjusted to fit the principles of the Law of Attraction. Maybe this is a different "Law of Attraction" than they present in The Secret DVD? If you are looking for a book to help you with accomplishing the goals set by The Secret DVD, look elsewhere, this isn't it.

Great Resource For Beginners.......2006-12-20

In this book there are tips for making hand-milled soap, melt and pour soap and cold-pressed soap. It contains 19 soap recipes, some of which are illustrated in the middle of the book and look just like desserts - and no wonder with names like Chocolate and Coffee Lover's Temptation, Fresh As A Cucumber, Nancy Bee's Honey, Ron's Refreshing Raspberry, etc.

I was personally more interested in the first part of the book, but for those who'd like to make soap for profit, the second part of the book deals with business aspects, as in how and where to sell your soap, what to charge for it, how to go about promoting it and it covers possible legalities that is good to be aware of.

I am a beginner with soapmaking and purchased several soapmaking books prior to starting the craft. Of all the books read, this one was the simplest for me to follow. It was straight forward and provided one of the easiest and quickest methods for calculating sodium hydroxide and water. For the new soapmaker, I believe this is definitely one soapmaking book that you should read.

This book is good for those who prefer to use the "modern" way to make soap, which is cold-processing. Why make soap in the first place if you are going to do it the simple way?

True soapmaking is done by cooking soap, and this book has no information on that process. The book does give helpful hints about specifics on oils and herbs to use, as well as other soapmaking knowledge - but don't get it if you want specific information on making soap the traditional way. James Herschberger is the soap GURU when it comes to classic soapmaking.

what is this book really about??????.......2007-05-13

This book harps on a persons' upbringing and if there was enough encouragement, enthusiam and confidence given as a child... The author feels based on the manner in which the person was raised is relevant to their success...I kept reading ( painfully ) because I was sure somewhere there would be something relevant to the title. Reading this book was like a therapy session , that I did not request..

Misleading title.......2007-04-16

I gave this book two stars not because of the writing, but because the title is misleading. If you're looking for courage to quit your high-paying but soulless job for more soulful work--and maintain your standard of living--this book won't deliver.

Perhaps a better title would be DO WHAT YOU LOVE, THE MONEY WON'T MATTER. That would set a reader's expectations more in line with the book's message. The cases in the book were not monetarily successful. However, they show that if you follow your heart, the money won't matter. The things that money can buy when working a soulless career, such as vacations, clothes, cars, and so on lose their appeal as a reward, because what you DO is the reward. You no longer need what money can buy because you have what money can't buy: love.

I simply loved this book! It motivated me greatly on a daily basis and I couldn't wait to continue reading it. I felt so positive and good about my quest.

Even though it was written a while ago, it still has much relevance today. If you think this is just another career book, you are severely mistaken.

There is so much psychology packed into it, in an accessable language. It truly is "food for thought" and makes you think about what your priorities in life are.

Bought this book look for a few financial tidbits we might be missing and there was probably enough to make it worthwhile. A lot of basics and tried and true methods are repeated in this book and just reemphasize that we are doing things 'right.' I like repeating these to my kids as we travel. If we are willing to do a little more work, could save a bit more money with some of her suggestions. I also have to chuckle at the repeated sales pitches in the book for newsletters and templates to help you save money...Overall, a good quick read that can save you some dough.

This book takes a radical approach on money and how healing the issues around money could heal the world on so many levels.
I personally related much to what the author has to say about the 3 Gs in money.....Greed, Guilt, and Gut. It is a small but beautiful book that makes one look at money in a positive way and release if any of the negative attitudes around the money issue; realizing that the source in money is related to our being and our vibration in the world. This book inspired my poem "Where Abundance Lives."

I was very disappointed. The author struggles to make a book from what could have been a short high school paper. There is not much content on the 96 pages. Try George Kinder's Seven Stages of Money Maturity instead.

Excellent Book.......2004-06-22

I purchased this book because I was trying to work past my negative associations with money that were limiting me. This was the only book that was very helpful in transforming all the negative feelings and associations that I had with money to the positive and allowing that blockage to open up and flow freely. It was also the only book that I could find that explained to me why I had those feelings, where they came from and how to cure them. I hope it will help others experiencing the same.

Slim Book Heavy on Helpful Material.......2004-02-19

I was attracted to this book because it tied together the words "Sacred" "Money" and "Love". So much of what I observe in the world is so contrary to these words (especially together!) that I was intrigued and simply had to see what Wilder had to say.

I was not disappointed.

The book is not very long, so I wasn't sure at first, especially when the first 41 pages were basically all introduction, including a Brief History of Money.

All was interesting AND I wondered... "Where's the beef?"

The last sentence of the "Brief History" hit the nail on the head with these words: "The trick is to reunite money with its spiritual roots. To make money love."

The rest of the book does exactly that: teaches, informs and inspires the reader exactly how to interact with money as love and then live that experience out in the world so as to reunite everyone with that experience.

The informed, inspired reader could take that message and literally become a "Money is Love" evangelist.

Try it out: do the exercises and see for yourself. Money IS love.

I bought this book on the recommendation of an store owner who has used the principles in this book successfully(a $10000 investor). She had heard about it from a customer who had used it successfully. Within one day of reading and beginning to apply the principles and do the exercises, I had solved a seemingly unsolvable financial dilemma. Within 5 days, I had been offered $5000 part time job. I now recommend it to all my friends. There is a chain of miracles happening down here in Georgia (USA). Let's get it spreading throughout the world. If you are ready to change your relationship to money into a loving one, buy this book, read it and do the work.

This is a book that whets the appetite for more light-hearted takes on American society, status and snobbery.
Pure entertainment, although I'm sure there will be those who take it as gospel.

An easy, fun read, but the reviewer SOCIAL CLIMBER from Sonoma CA listed the author's email address incorrectly. It's kevindoyle42@earthlink.net. Doyle answered me with a list of other titles when I contacted him. HOW TO MEET BEAUTIFUL WOMEN and DATING YOUNGER WOMEN are also written with tongue firmly in cheek.

When I contacted the author at his email address listed in the earlier review, he answered and said the book was guaranteed to work and if it doesn't he buys the disgruntled reader a new Cadillac. How To Marry Money is full of the same wry humor.

It took a while to get past the first few pages, but I kept reading and the remaining chapters had helpful pointers about life in general,love,work and self image. I called the author's publicist and received his email address kevindoyle42@earthlin.net and have been exchanging dialog since.

It was annoying to find my wife reading a book with a title like this but, after picking it up and reading it, I found it to be a lot of fun.
Now I take the advice of another reviewer (who found as "entertaining as it is instructional") and often give HOW TO MARRY MONEY as a light-hearted gift for clients, graduates & hostesses.
