Book Description

Steven Forrest, author of the award-winning and critically acclaimed book on basic astrology, The Inner Sky, sequels that outstanding work with this dynamic text on predictive astrology. Here you will find a brief review of the astrological basics (planets, houses, signs and aspects) and then the heart of the book -

Transits - the current positions of the planets in the sky compared to one's birth chart. Outer planets are discussed in terms of their "Teacher" or "Trickster" potentials. Also addressed is the cycle of the houses and the tasks represented by each.

Progressions - a day symbolically equated to a year in one's life. Thorough explanations of progressed Moon through the houses and signs, and changing angles (Midheaven and Ascendant) are presented.

The Art of Synthesis - how to put it all together.

Also includes an appendix with valuable information on how to look up transits and calculate secondary progressions.

This practical guide to predictive astrology shows the reader how to make better life choices, with a focus on personal freedom and responsibility.

5 out of 5 stars The best intermediate astrology book.......2006-03-09

For a book on intermediate astrology, this one is the best. It covers a lot of material in an easy-to-understand way. It also makes an excellent reference book.

Among Forrest's many strengths, he is a master of 'synthesis', the art of putting together various astrological pieces to create a coherent story about what is going on. His approach, which focuses on the questions life is asking you versus what you are going to passively experience, is brilliant, and successfully bridges between an individual's inner and outer worlds.

I have been teaching astrology for many years, and this is the book I use to introduce my students to timing and forecasting. I wish more astrology books were of this high quality.

5 out of 5 stars A Methodological Approach to Understanding Predictive Astrology.......2005-10-10

I have been interested in understanding astrology for a long time, but my experience in finding books that don't overload me with too much often-contradictory information has been difficult. This is often because too many books about astrology are nothing more than "cookbooks" that list large amounts of information in lengthy lists intended to help the reader interpret the meanings of when particular planets appear in specific signs or houses in an individual's birthchart. Sometimes, they will include similar interpretations about aspects between planets in the birthchart. Less often, they might include interpretations about transiting planets, but usually nothing about progressing planets. What results too often from these astrology "cookbooks" is confusion for readers because few of these "cookbooks" describe how to identify what the important significant parts of a birthchart are or how to synthesize the information into a meaningful whole. Without such an understanding, it becomes impossible to tackle the more difficult concepts of predictive astrology.

Recently I read Steven Forrest's 1983 book "The Inner Sky: How To Make Wiser Choices for a More Fulfilling Life". In this book, Mr. Forrest provided an elegant set of guidelines that enable novice students of astrology to grasp what the most important features in a birthchart are so that a concise synthesis of the lengthy amount of information contained within it can be effectively navigated and understood without falling prey to information overload. Being greatly inspired by this book, I decided to read Mr. Forrest's next book, "The Changing Sky: A Practical Guide to Predictive Astrology", which was first published in 1986. As in the "The Inner Sky", Mr. Forrest provides a definitive set of guidelines in "The Changing Sky" that are highly beneficial. In order to gain any meaningful information from predictive astrology, both transiting and progressing planets must be compared to an individual's birthchart. As the birthchart is a snapshot of the sky when a person is born, transits are the actual locations of the planets at a time later in the individual's life. Hence, transiting planets make aspects with the locations that the planets were in at the time of an individual's birth. These transiting aspects can mark significant events that most people experience (such as the first Saturn return at about the age of 30 or a transmitting outer planet making a conjunction with a natal Ascendant, Midheaven, Sun or Moon, for example). Understanding progressions is a bit more difficult than transits because (1) there are multiple progression techniques used by astrologers and (2) progressions don't necessarily relate directly to actual locations of planets. Progressions are created by astrologers using a symbolic time frame of reference. The most common progression technique that astrologers use (and is what Mr. Forrest explains very well in "The Changing Sky") is called "secondary progressions". In secondary progressions, the movements that the planets experience in one day relate to one year's life for an individual based upon that individual's birth time. In this way, as the slow-moving outer planets can influence people for years at a time, in progressions, the fast-moving inner planets slow down and have similar influences that can affect people for years at a time. This is actually one of the key factors used in predictive astrology: the longer a transiting or progressing planet can aspect with a significant natal planet, Ascendant or Midheaven in an individual's birthchart, the greater the impact that a transiting or progressing planet can have. This concept helps to form the basis for the four "nets" that Mr. Forrest describes in the eleventh chapter of "The Changing Sky". By understanding how long a particular planet can transit or progress through an aspect with the birthchart (as well as knowing which transmitting/progressing planets are the most important), particular transits and progressions can be divided into different nets that represent different levels of importance, either over long periods of time or shorter periods. A progressing planet changing signs and/or houses may also be significant. Fast-moving transiting inner planets may act as triggers within the larger scheme of the longer-lasting transits and progressions.

Mr. Forrest separated the 13 chapters contained within "The Changing Sky" into five parts. The first part (two chapters) focuses on the "root prediction", which is the birthchart. The second part (four chapters) focuses on transmits and includes discussions of the teacher & trickster sides of the outer planets, as well as the meanings of the transiting inner planets. The third part (three chapters) is an overview of progressions and includes the teacher & trickster sides of the inner planets, except the Moon, which still moves too quickly when progressed. Instead, an entire chapter (Chapter 9) is used to describe the progressed moon's meaning in signs and houses in a "cookbook" style. The fourth part (one chapter) is a "cookbook"-style description of all the possible aspects that the progressed inner planets (except the Moon), Midheaven and Ascendant make with all of the natal planets, natal Midheaven and natal Ascendant. Mr. Forrest's inclusion of this "cookbook"-style information is highly beneficial since I have never seen any other "cookbook"-style book ever include any progressed planet information. The fifth and final part (three chapters) is a synthesis of all of the information in the previous four parts and includes an interesting astrological analysis of the life of Vincent Van Gogh.

Overall, I rate Steven Forrest's book "The Changing Sky: A Practical Guide to Predictive Astrology" with a resounding 5 out of 5 stars and highly recommend it to anyone interested in understanding a methodological approach to predictive astrology. In my opinion, this book and Mr. Forrest's earlier book, "The Inner Sky: How To Make Wiser Choices for a More Fulfilling Life", are probably the best first books to read to begin a study of astrology. I also recommend that you read "The Inner Sky" before reading "The Changing Sky" to gain the most benefit from both books.

5 out of 5 stars No better book for predictive astrology.......2003-03-27

I'm a practicing astrologer and have published several astrology articles. I still refer to this book regularly and recommend it--and Forrest's other books--to anyone interested in learning about astrology. Aside from his hands-down expertise in astrology, Forrest is a hell of a good writer and an excellent psychologist--what more could you ask for when you're trying to understand how astrological cycles affect real people in real life?

4 out of 5 stars Recommended elaboration of astrology's structure.......1998-04-13

Well above-average introduction to prediction and progression in astrology, for the reader with some grasp of the basics of planets and signs (such as reading Forrest's "The Inner Sky")--but not a great deal of background. A well-written introduction to what astrology is really about, from quite an intelligent and down-to-earth point of view. It will take you several dimensions beyond the paper's astrology column, into a striking synchronous parallel to human psychology.

Book Description

Eclipses play a crucial role in the fates of nations and the lives of individuals. Nationally known astrologer Celeste Teal draws on nearly thirty years of astrological experience to explain and illustrate how eclipses act as cosmic telegrams about the current state of our world, our personal lives, and our relationships with others.

Eclipses illustrates how recent and historical events can be linked directly to eclipses, and provides predictions for their effects on world events in the next decade and beyond. Readers will explore the effects of prenatal eclipses on the natal chart, as well as past, present, and future eclipses. While eclipses are often mentioned in monthly horoscopes, no other book has ever attempted to demonstrate how these heavenly events are observably connected to both world events and personal affairs.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent!.......2007-08-25

I really enjoyed this book from Celeste Teal, as I do all of her books. My only complaint is... the book ended too soon. I received it and read it all in one afternoon!

5 out of 5 stars A Book I Can Use On A Planetary Scale.......2007-01-08

This is NOT one of those books on astrology with a title that sounds like its something you need, that starts off well-intended and becomes a wallowing, multi-tangented meandering about the landscape, dragging you through endless cul-de-sacs of examples you can never use in real life.

Then there are other astrologers who seem intended on using astrology like a pipe wrench to twist your perspective to their world view with a seemingly Stalinist interpretation of an innocent Zodiac. When will astrologers get it through their heads that we, the book-buying public want the principles of astrology, not the endless chopstick-picking through of individual natal charts or their useless, blind personal biases?

I was looking for clarity. I found it here in Eclipses, and this book eclipses those mindsets!

I found "Eclipses" to be everything I'd hoped (but hadn't expected) it to be when I'd ordered it. First off, it was a truly interesting read the first time through. Rather than slogging through a few chapters at a time, holding my nose and eating Rolaids while taking notes of the precious few details of information as I would with most other astrology books, I was surprised to find myself looking forward to each successive chapter, and ended up reading it in one enjoyable sitting. I really must commend Ms. Teal on this book. It must have a nice natal chart.

It's logical in format, uncluttered and concise, intelligent, precise in content, unbiased and yes, I actually have it at my desk to use frequently as a reference. This book is remarkable in how it spotlighted the information and cut a path from a logical beginning through the present and into the future. Great information included up through 2012. She even intuited what questions you would've asked and had some great chapters on future events having to do with the economy and the U.S. and world events already worked out.

This is one book that will never share company with those other books in that special place on the bottom of my bookshelf, where I allow my cats to practice their paper recycling techniques.

5 out of 5 stars A must for every serious astrologer's library.......2006-11-18

Celeste Teal's ability to explain and teach complicated concepts in simple, understandable language is just incredible. A copy of "Eclipses" should be in every serrious astrologer's library, and be read by all who desire a deeper understanding of their destiny.

5 out of 5 stars "The Best Author of All Times".......2006-08-30

Celeste Teal is the best Astrologer of all time, A wealth of information on Eclipses, she put allot of information on what an Eclipses means in the natal chart, as well as the Progressed chart, what house the Eclipses will effect, what effect it will have on a personal planet......I haven't been able to put the book down....I have been a student of Astrology for 20 plus years, her books have taken me to a whole new level in Astrology.

Eclipses by Celeste Teal is a must have for anybody at any level of Astrology......I love the personal stories in the book, how the Eclipse have change peoples lives. after reading the book, you can follow were an Eclipses will hit in your own chart, she gives the Eclipse dates up to the year 2050.

Very well written, easy to follow, allot of reserch has gone in to the book, Celeste is a very good teacher, what an asset she has been for the subjuct of Astrology.

Keep up the good work!!!.......I can't wait for her next book.

4 out of 5 stars A valuable addition to the astrological literature on eclipses.......2006-08-28

Celeste Teal has put together a thoughtful and well researched book on eclipses. She has clearly done her homework and read the relevant literature, but with a questioning mind. Rather than take traditional beliefs about eclipses for granted, she has put them to the test and come up with some new findings of her own. For example, she demonstrates convincingly that lunar eclipses have an effect for much longer than was traditionally taught. She explains that there are two ways to "end" an eclipse, either by its natural cycle or by a pass of Saturn, which was new to me. She gives a useful rating system for determining how powerful an eclipse is likely to be in world events. Much of the book is devoted to mundane astrology with a discussion of charts of world leaders or events. She does spend some time on the charts of ordinary individuals but does not provide their birth data, so the reader does not have the opportunity to study the individuals' charts along side the eclipses that affected them. I found myself wishing for that data as I read the chapter on Real People & Their Eclipse Stories. For the reader's convenience there is an appendix with a listing of all solar and lunar eclipses from 1900 through 2054.
Unfortunately this listing has some minor errors and typos. The absence of the "real people's" charts and the typos in the appendix are the reason I gave only 4 stars. Otherwise, this book is well worth the effort. I learned a lot about eclipses and have been using them more in my astrological work as a result. This book would be a valuable addition to any astrologer's library.

1 out of 5 stars An Inaccurate Mess.......2007-04-03

I have been studying astrology for twenty years and practicing it for a few. I bought this book based on the glowing recommendations here on Amazon. I wish I had not.

The premise of the book is sound. It is that, unless something is promised in the natal chart, then it will not manifest in the life of a client. But the author almost immediately contradicts herself. On page 42 she says: "We are not stuck with the natal promise of our chart. There is always the potential to outgrow the more difficult aspects." WHAT? Does the natal promise matter or does it not? Please make up your mind!

From there it just gets worse and worse. The chapter called "The Natal Promise" is laughable and exemplary of the rest of this book. The author reduces everything to childish, ridiculous generalizations. For example, the entire section on "Success" is about the Nodes. Apparently, at least if you follow her advice, you have no chance of success unless your North Node is in an angular house (1, 4, 7 or 10). In the section "Violence/Rape," all she discusses are hard aspects between the Moon and Pluto. Try telling my friend who was savagely raped and beaten that she must have imagined it happening to her since she has no aspect in her chart between the Moon and Pluto.

Not only is this book shoddily written and edited, as another reviewer mentioned, but there are some GLARING errors. In the section on "Vocation," page 68, she claims that "Jackie Kennedy had her tenth-house Neptune in Scorpio, and she was a book editor." Well, Neptune did not even enter Scorpio until 1956 so unless Jackie O. was about seven years old when JFK was shot, then this is completely impossible.

Finally, a large bulk of this book, maybe a third of it, is devoted to childish, cookbook interpretations which are vastly oversimplified. But my biggest complaint comes with the author's system of making predictions itself. It ultimately relies on eclipses, progressed house cusps and the position of the progressed Moon in order to pinpoint dates and times of events. This, in my experience as an astrologer, simply doesn't work. And as someone else noted, she makes no mention of Solar Arc Directions whatsoever.

The author's rambling narrative and anecdotes occasionally bring up an interesting observation here and there. But based on all of her other glaring errors and omissions, it makes one wonder if her observations are even worth considering. Ironically, she even promotes in the introduction to the book that astrologers develop a "personal method" in making predictions (in other words, she is suggesting that you may not want to use her method). Honestly, I'm amazed that her method has worked for her, but if you are expecting it to work for you, then you are likely in for a big surprise.

This book was a huge waste of my time and I wish that I had not purchased it.

5 out of 5 stars Very Helpful Book on Advanced Techniques in Astrology.......2006-05-22

First of all, I need to forwarn you, this book is NOT for beginers to astrology, it assumes you're already familiar with the basics.

I found this book very helpful in my studies; it was a turning point in my use of this ancient science. Where basic natal astrology is useful for providing a basic pyschological profile for the client, the techniques described in this book point out how the progressions point to the evolution of the individual. It also goes into eclipses and how they describe events in the life.
I would consider this book mandatory reading for anyone beyond the basics. 5+ stars for this one!

5 out of 5 stars Most Recommended.......2006-05-20

It has always been a pleasure to read anything written by Carol Rushman. She explains well about every aspect and talks with lot of conviction. She doesn't miss out giving examples when needed. She explains right reasoning for an event with proper logic and great accuracy.

In chapter of Stationing and Retrograde Planets she writes "My daughter and I went to have our hair cut on the day Venus went retrograde and we both cried all the way home because we got such bad haircuts. We each had wanted a trim but we both went home with very short hair" She would not miss out making a note of minor or major event in her life.

Examples are very casual and yet not mundane but in line with what she is talking about.

I recommend this book to all who have deep interest in astrology.

Definitely one of my favorites. Carol Rushman shares from her astrological wisdom and experience, cases and techniques that help the reader get a good insight not only on the theoretical astrology, but also on the practical approach to predictive astrology.

Bernadette Brady has a gift for expressing the mathematically complex in poetic terms that turn angles and orbits into a celestial ballet. Predictive Astrology covers all the basics--transits, progressions, and houses--while unlocking the bewildering secrets of eclipses. In a seamless dialogue of logic and intuition, Brady encourages us to look beyond the basic blueprint of the natal chart and peek into the future. Her view of fate doesn't condemn a person to a set path in life, allowing the astrologer who carefully balances logic and intuition to better prepare her clients for the challenges fate has in store. --Brian Patterson

very easy to use, and not many words to explain each subject completaly and, quite effective. The author explains everything well.

5 out of 5 stars Astrology for those who want something rock-steady.......2004-06-17

Bernadette Brady can be best described in this way: Understated Competance - so understated in fact that one might believe that this is some kind of cute storybook because that's what the title might suggest. I assure you, it is not. Bernadette's methods are very technical and the way she lays the information out, if studied diligently, will lead the student of astrology to excellence

I've found the best approach is to steadily progress through the book, make lots of index card notes of key concepts and study them as you would a college text because truly, this is a collegiate-level work. It must be studied and practiced rigorously rather than simply read. Yet for all that, the style is engaging and the author is warm, yet stern enough motivate the student through times of sloth. (speaking from experience)Moreover, it becomes clear very early on that she expects the student to be successful and rise to her own high standards. I feel that this is the mark of a master - to get the student to the same level.

The objective of the author is simply this: Develop the "eagle" or the foundational skills first. Do that and you'll fly far above the earth. Then, once aloft and resting upon solid technical ground, let the "lark" sing his song - the intuition - and breath the specificity and pertinence into your readings that can transform others.

To sum up, this is a master work by a master astrologer. It represents a lifelong committment, not only to astrology, but to the teaching of astrology. It has the level of detail and profoundness than only true passion can bring. Fortunately for the rest of us, Bernadette is willing to share that passion.

Brilliant insights and easy to apply the tools supplied.
One of my all time favorite books. I did not want
to skip a single chapter. Transits, Eclipses, Progressions.
Definately NOT a run of the mill cookie cutter astrology book!

5 out of 5 stars Soar and Sing!.......2001-04-19

The parable of the eagle and the lark is as beautiful as it is apt. Before you start to make assumptions about what is coming up for the chart you are interpreting, make sure you're standing on solid technical ground. As I work through this book I marvel at the generosity of spirit of the author. She shares the nuts and bolts of her analytical technique - a very astute one. You will learn how to interpret transits, progressions and solar returns, but you will also learn some important caveats. Never again will I look at a transit before determining the progressed lunar phase and house position! Arm yourself with a technique for ranking the relative importance of transiting aspects. Learn Ms. Brady's transit grid and timeline techniques. Read concrete examples drawn from the life of Joan of Arc. Before you begin to sing, do the preparation. Buy this book.

5 out of 5 stars Fascinating book on techniques of prediction.......1999-02-05

I became interested in reading this book after seeing an article in _The Mountain Astrologer_ on eclipses and the Saros Cycles, which designated "The Eagle and the Lark" as a primary source. (This book is a reissue of "the Eagle and the Lark".) Brady has outlined a simple yet effective means of delineating transits, progressions, and eclipses, not to mention time maps. Bravo on a book meant to enlighten and empower the astrologer! Definitely a must-have!

THERE IS ONLY TOMORROW (Your Life is what you make of it)

You can't change the past, but your future is what you make of it today. You can make good decisions for a better tomorrow by understanding the evolving planetary energies affecting your birthchart. It's like having a mapping program combined with a knowledge of sailing so you can tack with the wind energies to get where you want to go.

Knowing and understanding these changing planetary energies gives you an edge in these very challenging times when economic and political forces are seemingly arrayed against the individual and could bring disaster to the unprepared.

This science of predictive astrology is normally considered too complex for the non-professional, but the step-by-step method in this book and the computing power of the included CD-ROM uses the birthchart as the foundation for your evolving life and does all the calculations to print out reports that enable you to discover the prime times for all the important decisions in your life. You will learn proven predictive techniques to make the right choices and chose the best times for marriage, relationships, career, relocation, money, health, and more. Even luck can be factored in.

This book comes with a CD-ROM that enables the purchaser to calculate his own natal horoscope and generate daily guides based upon the transits aspecting that chart. Those who want to have astrological advice about the conditions existing on certain dates will find what they are seeking here. The book also provides a lucid overview of natal horoscopes, progressions, eclipses, and transits. In addition there is specific advice for Relationships, Jobs/Career, Money, Relocation, and Health, with example horoscopes in each section.

3 out of 5 stars Beginner-level.......2004-09-26

I ordered this book to find some useful hints and tips on astrological forecasting. However, there is nothing in this book that has not been written elsewhere. Yes, I was a little disappointed. There was really nothing new in it. However, if you are a beginner 'Mapping Your Future' gives a good overview on transits and progressions. The interpretations of the progressions and transits are kept (very) short. The enclosed CD-ROM calculates the transits and delivers a forecast report that you can print. The report was well-done but for advanced students it was way too general. Advanced students of astrology should not get this book. Stick to Bernadette Brady's Eagle and the Lark or Carol Rushman's The Art of Predictive Astrology. These two books are still the best.

3 out of 5 stars interesting info.......2007-03-09

I think the book provides some interesting information. I don't know about all of it, still reading it, over halfway through. Some of it jives with my experience, and some of it, for me, I wouldn't necessarily come to the same conclusions. However, he's been doing this for a long long time. Looking back at some of my solar arc over planets and angles in the past, some were uneventful, and some were very eventful. He seems to be more sure about some of the types of events that will happen whereas I believe that the soul's evolutionary level can make predictions very hard, especially the scale of the event. Sometimes, we expect something really big when it's something much less grand.

5 out of 5 stars Solar Arcs by Noel Tyl.......2007-02-01

An astrologer for 35 years I have read countless books containing opinions and information concerning the subject of astrology, some good, some not so good and some down-right poor and seriously misleading. Every serious astrologer knows the name Noel Tyl and some the man and teacher, Noel Tyl. His work is exciting, informative, and presented in a manner that astrologers, new and experienced can learn and benefit from, as well as their clients. The book is extensive, the examples are backed up by fact and who can ask for better than that. Noel's fastidious research on the subject of solar arcs and how they mark times in our lives when important and life changing events and experiences will occur is here for all to see and use. Other than being in a classroom with Noel, what more could you want if you are into serious astrology, than to have years of Noel Tyls experinece and research at your finger tips. I highly recommend the book.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent book on predicting future circumstances.......2005-05-13

In this complex but extremely educational book, Tyl describes the Solar Arc theory amongst others to show you how to exactly progress your NATAL chart foward in order to see the new aspects formed. This book focuses little on basic planetary triggers, but leans heavily on the concept of midpoints (which are far more productive in Transits) I would say, that this book is not for the first-time astrologer; I would highly recommend "The New Way to Learn Astrology: Presenting the Noel Tyl Method" by Basil Fearrington. It is geared more like a school text book, with chapters and quizes at the end of each chapter. I own over 15 Astrology books, and I think Basil and Tyl have it down. Solar Arc theory is highly recommended, but make sure you have a basic knowledge of houses, signs, planets, and the combinations of. If you do, or at least have the concept, buy this book.

5 out of 5 stars A Valuable Resource.......2002-09-16

I started studying astrology in my spare time nearly four years ago. Most of what I've learned has come from following the discussions of friends and reading books they've recommended.

Tyl's work is high on their list of reference materials. After reading Solar Arcs, it is easy to see why. Tyl's writing style is user friendly. His clear, well-defined examples make it a valuable resource for skilled astrologers & students as well.

I look forward to reading Synthesis & Counseling in Astrology next.

5 out of 5 stars Indispensable Tool.......2002-08-07

Tyl's work is a must-have for any astrologer wishing to add precision and clarity to predictive work. He uses many case studies and examples (including a very courageous and honest assessment of his own chart) to illustrate solar arc technique. He demonstates the theory behind the technique, and shows how amazingly simple and yet astounding it is.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Guide for All Astrologers.......2005-03-13

I'm so thrilled I happened upon Bernie Ashman's insightful, soulful book, "Road Map to Your Future: Progresssions & Transits."

I am impressed with the sensitive manner Mr. Ashman formulated his interpretations of transits/progressions and refer to this text often.

I have also used his book to help guide and enlighten myself about my natal aspects.

Mr. Ashman's book is both user and gender friendly, which I find refreshingly in tune with the spirit of the times.

Personally, I wish Mr. Ashman would write more books because I really liked the neutral, balanced manner in which he wove his thoughts, feelings, experiences and perceptions.

Ultimately, I wanted more from Mr. Ashman and wished he had expounded his interpretations.

I've read many books on astrology I perceived as overtly manipulative, dictatorial, didactic, insensitive and just plain smug. Thankfully, Mr. Ashman's words are emotionally mature and devoid of all of the above.

I am so grateful to Bernie, who has transcended the astrological genre by avoiding the use of pretentious rhetoric.

I do believe Bernie Ashman is one of the most gifted astrologers of our time.

More, Bernie, More!

1 out of 5 stars Noel Tyl - one of the biggest NON-prophets in history.......2007-01-14

This book isn't even worth using as toilet paper. Not even ONE of his "predictions" have come true. Most are laughable. A couple of these predictions, based on obvious outcomes that ANYONE could have predicted (like Charles and Princess Diana's divorce) and, in fact, have been predicted in the National Enquirer or other rag magazines -- which seem to be Noel Tyl's true source of information.

Get this:
- by September 2000 the UN will be no more.
- by November 1997 Pope John Paul II will "die a peaceful death"
- Pope John Paul II will be successed by "Pope Leo XIV"
- by August 2000 "Pope Leo XIV" will die a "premature death"
- Kim John Il will not lead North Korea
- by September 2004 North and South Korea will be unified
- Sweden, by social unrest, will be completely overhauled (whatever that means) by mid 2000
- The Deutsche Mark will become the European Union standard currency

Had enough? Want more?

It is worth reading if you want to laugh out loud at a nincompoop's attempt to be a 'seer'.

    Book Description

Varshaphala is a useful adjuvant to the standard Vedic astrology system of chart analysis. It is a technique primarily employed by the Vedic astrologers of north India. Until now A Textbook of Varshaphala by the author has been the standard reference book in English on this subject. Predictive Techniques in Varshaphala is an advancement over the earlier work by the author. The salient features of the present work are:

    • Emphasis on the practical application of the principles of Varshaphala.

    • Integration of analysis of the annual chart with that of the natal chart.

    • New light on the Tajika aspects, the Muntha and the lord of the year.

    • Inclusion of the subjects hitherto untouched, like the transits, the Vedha, the Hudda dasha, etc.

    • Use of at least five different dasha systems with special mention of the indications for their use in different annual charts.

    • A predominant use of Tajika yogas highlighting their reliability in predictions. Emphasis on considering the yogas not only from the lagna but also from the Muntha and the lord of the year.

    • A large section, profusely illustrated, devoted to the application of the various principles of Varshaphala to varied real-life situations.

5 out of 5 stars Very enlightening book.......2004-11-01

Excellent book that gives a balanced view of the subject. I especially found sections III and IV very enlightening!

5 out of 5 stars For Those Who Like to Think.......2000-02-08

Chuck Missler's careful detail within his books tend to make his writing difficult to keep up with. Cosmic Codes is an exception. His chapters are broken up into headings that allow the reader to take a breath or to chew like the intellectual cows we tend to become. Cosmic Codes is not for the faint of thought, you have to be ready to think; to think beyond time, space and our predefined view of reality. Cosmic Codes also puts the "Bible Code" in its proper place. They do exist, you cannot escape the math on the odds, but Missler puts the evidence in its proper perspective. There are some errors here and there. For example, Rambsel notes the absence of Judas from the Isaiah 53 ELS findings. I have since found it within the text. However, considering the topic and the vast amount of cross-referencing, it is brilliant, albiet imperfect; Like Chuck himself. When reading Cosmic Codes, as with all other works by Chuck Missler, start by reading Acts 17:11 in the Bible; it is his caveat.

4 out of 5 stars Too bad about the mistakes in Hebrew!.......2000-01-20

This is such an interesting book, but perhaps Missler has copied the Hebrew errors of Bullinger, Jeffrey, and Rambsel, when discussing the Torah Codes. There are many absurdities. At the bottom of page 112, what in the world is "tegoleh"? In the center of page 155, in describing Jesus as a Nazarene, the Hebrew word would be "Notzri," spelled nun, tzadi, resh, yod. It is related to "Netzer," meaning branch. Instead, he has spelled "Nazir," which means a monk or abstainer: nun, zayin, yod, resh. The full-page chart on page 159 is full of mistakes. This kind of carelessness makes Christian "authorities" on Hebrew scriptures look foolish, and their subjective "codes" even more so. This is unfortunate, but the average reader needs to be informed.

5 out of 5 stars Incredible panorama of evidence illumimating the bible.......1999-10-28

This book is for believers and nonbelievers both. This book will take the reader on a journey through the Hebrew scriptures and the codes beneath them, including the Yeshua codes. Also, detailed background on the Feasts of Israel, the fulfilled prophecies of the Hebrew scriptures, and more fascinating tidbits than I can write about here. Reading this will make you realize how much you can miss by just glossing over the scriptures casually as so many of us do.

5 out of 5 stars A most interesting book you won't want to put down........1999-10-17

"Cosmic Codes" by Chuck Missler, helps confirm ones beliefs, not through faith alone, but through the complexity of design in the form of messages through symbolism and ciphertext, which our LORD has so diligently placed within HIS written word "The Bible". Chuck Missler takes you through an overview of these messages, systematically placed by JESUS CHRIST; to authenticate HIS word as HE proclaimed it. For those who consider the "Bible" as just another storybook, prepare to throw that view right out the window. I recommend that you hold on to your "brown britches" (Lord Nelson pun), for HIS coming is surely on the horizon. In reading "Cosmic Codes" one can enjoy the work of a man who has dedicated himself to proclaiming that love declared by our LORD, to all those who would listen. The choice to hear that message of love is now up to you!
