Book Description
Here in a short, compact and concise format is the basics of how to persuade more people more effectively, more ethically, and more often. Ziglar draws from his fundamental selling experiences and shows that while the fundamentals of selling may remain constant, sales people must continue learning, living, and looking: learning from the past without living there; living in the present by seizing each vital moment of every single day; and looking to the future with hope, optimism, and education. His tips will not only keep your clients happy and add to your income, but will also teach you ideas and principles that will, most importantly, add to the quality of your life. Content drawn from Ziglar on Selling.

Timeless Advice.......2007-08-03
Zig has been providing great advice to sales people for decades and this book is no exception. Pick it up, read it, and make more money.
Practical sales advice for all levels.......2007-06-08
This book provides practical sales advice for all levels. The man is a guru so you should read knowing that the path has been walked already.
Deceived by photo..........2007-05-10
I thought I was purchasing a nice, hardcover sales book.. it's TINY... info is okay, just a really small book.. buyer beware.
The basic smart course in sales techniques.......2006-09-01
Seldom is a book as aptly named as Selling 101. This is a true primer on the ABC's of selling. Author and sales expert Zig Ziglar walks you through the sales process, teaching you how to find prospects, overcome "call reluctance," pose the right questions and ask for the order. He touches on all of the fundamentals, using examples from his experiences to illustrate his main points. His brief, concise prose is easy to understand and even easier to incorporate into your sales practices. The seasoned sales professional will not find anything new in this basic textbook, but we recommend it to anyone who is new to selling, particularly if you lack a mentor to give you this kind of guidance. This handy manual will provide know-how that is usually gained only by experience in the field.
Decent sales starter or refresher.......2006-08-18
Good short book if you are looking for something basic. There is certainly nothing dynamic, but Ziglar hits several points right on and gives a nice overview.
Customer Reviews:
Great First Book on Sales.......2007-10-20
This is the first book I read on sales and will always be one of my favorites. Zig is a great story teller and sales person. This book is more about the psychology of sales than the a selling system, but will start people with the right mindset (which more than half of success).
A Must Have for Everyone Who Sells.......2007-10-11
I own my own home business and like every business it involves sales. Zig Ziglar is the king of sales and his book provides several hundred closing techniques that he used personally. As you read the book, it is as if you got a copy of his personal notebook on what works and does not work. Business building is about relationships and he covers that topic in great detail. There are funny stories and many tips. As he says in the book - you must read it with a pen and highlighter in hand. Mine has so many notes in it I might need to buy another one! I've bought and handed copies to my business team and they loved it! Want to talk about it...call me and we'll discuss Zig and how he has helped me build my business!
Well ahead of it's time -- A Timeless Classic.......2007-09-11
If you are in sales or for that matter, have a job, you must be in a position to persuade people and/or get what you want from them.
I have about 200 sales/marketing books and this one is in the top 3 if not the TOP.
Advice: Read/ Re-Read and Re-Read again and agin.... Take many many notes
Practical Advice from the King of Sales.......2007-06-07
No matter what you do, no matter what career you may participate in, you are a salesperson. And if you want to do your job better, even as a housewife or stay-at-home dad, you need to read this book. Zig Ziglar's homespun wisdom, laid-back storytelling and down-home humor make this not only a easy read, but a must have! His words of wisdom about not just paying attention to what you say but how you say it makes this book worth the price by itself. And if you don't think you are a salesperson, think again. After you read this book, you will know you are.
Classic sales book w lots of great ideas!.......2007-02-24
In general, I am a fan of Zig Ziglar in that he is model for making money in an ethical fashion. In addition to his business books, he has also written books on raising positive children in a negative world, having a good marriage and other topics that serve a large audience.
Some of his material ranks with the best out there. This book is excellent and something that should be on every salespersons shelf. However, some of the material comes across to me as somewhat manipulative. I don't know if that is because of how it is written or if he really believes that it isn't.
On the other hand, Zig Ziglar is a master communicator and he's the only person I ever knew who got the best of the "SIXTY MINUTES" news show team. In one scene, they say how much of what you do in terms of motivation really lasts and has lasting value. Without missing beat, Zig Ziglar replied, "taking a bath isn't permanent either, you need to do it everyday are you suggesting that this isn't necessary and useful either." A brilliant and accurate response in my opinion!
Anyway, despite my reservations about some of the techniques and communication styles discussed, this book is loaded with excellent ideas for closing a sale. Communication strategies that are eventually embodied in good sales people. I wouldn't hesitate to pick this book up and take what you need from it.

Customer Reviews:
Good for Motivation.......2006-12-20
This is a good book for motivation and an intro to network marketing if you know nothing at all. Zig is a great motivator. You'll need additional sources of information if you want to get in depth knowlege of how mlm works.
Zig Tells it Like it is!.......2006-11-23
This is the most comprehensive, informative book I have read on network marketing. Zig lays it out with complete honesty warning readers to stay clear of get rich quick schemes and faulty compensation plans. I learned that the network marketing company I left, while operating within Federal boundaries, is pushing the envelope with some of its sales tactics and covertly encouraging representatives to "front load". At the same time, I discovered that the company I am with now is operating with complete honesty and well within Federal guidelines. As for the naysayers, great speakers and trainers do not necessarily make great business owners. That doesn't mean they can't impart valuable information along to the student. Zig does what he does best. I do not hold his failed network marketing business against him. I'll take Zig's advice and think positive and surround myself with positive people.
Beginner's How-To Manual for any person new to network marketing.......2006-02-18
Zig explains network marketing in simple, easy to understand terms. In chapter 5, "Evaluating Network Marketing Companies", Zig discusses several questions a person should ask to whether they are pursing the right network marketing company.
Also, in chapter 10, "Knowing What to Do After You Sign Up" was very helpful for me in taking the next step.
A Book That Teaches One To Sell.......2005-11-19
Albeit the fact that Zig Ziglar's own MLM bit the dust, this book is great for those who would like to learn how to retail their MLM products.
Also this book does NOT cover much about the pitfalls one is bound to encounter in network marketing.
James Leong
Author of "MLM Persuasion Mastery:
How Master Networkers Change Beliefs
and Behavior"
Good basic MLM book by Zig.......2004-06-16
Zig Ziglar is America's motivator. As another reviewer has already alluded to, 75% of Fortune 500 companies utilize Zig's training systems. And Zig has trained over 1,000 network marketers. Zig was also successful himself as a network marketer and in direct sales. He speaks from experience.
More importantly, Zig is a great trainer. He knows how to bring out the best in everyone. And co author John P. Hayes has his own powerful credentials.
This book is particularly good for newbies in network marketing. Zig will show you how to pick your first company, what to look for, what to look out for and to what to avoid. He gives his usual motivational tips and it is updated to include the internet.
If you are new to network marketing, then I cannot recommend this book enough. Also recommend Mark Yarnels excellent book, Your First Year in Network Marketing.

Zig covers the basics with ease.......2007-06-28
Being new to the selling business I found this a very useful tool for covering the basics needed for a successful start.
It was a big boost for me.
Zig Ziglar hits this one out of the park.......2007-06-12
I felt that once again Zig Ziglar came out on top with this product.
Currently, I am in the process of learning how to sell and the audio cd's on selling by Zig really helped me perform my job more effeciently.
WOW!.......2007-03-24
Wow, wow, wow!
If you are in sales, this little cassette will save you money, time, and energy. This is a must have for all sales people.
If you are a sales professional and dont have this little gem, I dont think you are serious about your sales!
Brian Tracey is much better.......2007-03-22
I purchased both this audio book and Brian Tracey's Psychology of Selling, the Art of Closing the Sale on audio book. I have never written a review on Amazon and my dissapointment was enough to motivate me to do se. First off the auther is very distracting with a voice that sounds like Mr. Roper from Threes Company. Secondly just about everything minus one or two things was available in Brian Tracey's audio book. Get Brian Tracey, it's worth the money. It has more information, longer in length, presented much better, no corny humor, and best of all, he doesn't sound like Mr. Roper. Hope this helps.
Total waste of time!.......2007-03-19
Zig only states the obvious, with the worse humor. Tries to portray motivation by boasting his own arrogance. Rip off!!!
Book Description
Drawing on his forty plus years as a world-class motivated speaker, Ziglar shows precisely how to achieve what people desire most from life -- to be happy, healthy, reasonably prosperous and secure, and to have friends, peace of mind, good family relationships and hope.
Customer Reviews:
Top Class Motivational Book.......2007-03-25
Zig Ziglar is a renowned writer and speaker who has transformed the lives of countless numbers of people over the years through his inspirational writings and speeches. For those that wish to get out of a mental rut and need to acquire a positive mental attitude, new ambitions and fresh visions are urged to get a copy of this excellent book and read it cover-to-cover.
Zig has a pleasant, interesting and entertaining writing style which made me keep on wanting to read more until I came to the end of the book without realizing it. This is among the best books on the market to help you acquire good habits, get rid of bad ones, acquire positive attitude and character and chart for yourself a destiny of remarkable success and achievement.
Great Ideas .......2005-06-10
Zig Ziglar definately gives alot of thoughts and ideas in the book. Some of the things he said, really hit home to me and I felt I could really apply what he was talking about.
I listened to the Book on Tape. I just wish he wouldn't yell so much as he is talking. I had to keep adjusting the volume dial.
Other than that, it is a great book on tape.
so what if hes christian?.......2004-07-27
a very ignorant thing to do would be to exclude everything he has to say because he would cite the bible or jesuses teachings. given alot of people are christian, alot of people dont mind. i myself am not christian, im a setian, however it doesnt mean that even when he cites the bible, what he has to say isnt valid or doesnt hold water.
get over yourself and listen to what he has to say. itll do you some good, might even learn something.
Right on Target Advice!.......2004-01-19
"In my own life I always pray for guidance as I choose my goals," writes Ziglar. In the margin I dated it and wrote "I do too." This book contains so much rich, practical, doable wisdom, not wonder it's a classic for achievers. Persistence leads to desired results. He quotes Robert Collier in making the point when he noted, "Success is the sum of small efforts--repeated day in and day out."
Ziglar talks about seeing one's self in the mind's eye as a prelude to accomplishment. "I dreamed overy forty years ago that I would be traveling the world, making speeches to every conceivalbe kind of group. I literally saw myself in front of vast audiences making those talks," he tells us.
On feeding success mentally, he reminds us of the necessity to surround ourselves with people who are going to edify us. He adds, "read good books." This is one such good book. Read it!
Jesus save me from Zig!.......2003-06-18
I bought this expecting motivational insights a la Earl Nightingale, but instead I get a sermon I could hear in any fundamentalist church. I think the other reviewers should have to state their religious beliefs as part of the review process. I bet all the 5 star reviewers are Born Agains.

Customer Reviews:
Very Useful.......2007-07-14
I'm using this set of CD's to motivate my sales staff. Although some of the material is outdated, it DOES get my people motivated. There's lots about self image, and believing in yourself. This is great because many people have a low self image.
Great Audio CDs however bonus DVD did not work .......2007-02-21
The audio CDs esp. Zig Zaglar and Dr. David Palmer were very useful. However, the bonus DVD did not work. I tried both my standalone DVD players as well as DVD-ROM players on both my computers. So that was quite a disappointment. This happened even after I exchanged it in the store.
I just submitted an "issue" with Topics Entertainment on their website - haven't heard back from them yet.
If you are interested in the DVD, my advice would be to make sure you check it out prior to buying it.

Sales Success.......2006-08-21
This set has some great ideas for new sales sales people. I would suggest this because you can listen to several speakers who all have their own CD's. Pick the speaker who you learned the most from and buy more from that speaker.
Motivation from Today's Top Sales Coaches (Audio Series).......2006-03-19
Most of the CD are very useful, plus I can listen and learn when I'm driving.
Great Condensed Training/Refresher.......2006-03-14
I truly enjoyed and learned from this collection. Not all speakers were great but overall I was satisfied with the value.
It is a nice way to get to learn about the different styles of each speaker before investing heavily in any one specific coach.

Customer Reviews:
Zig is an excellent presenter.......2002-07-23
An Excellent and easy listen. I've listened to my casettes over and over - his tips are simple and very useful, his analogies clear and very humerous. All in all - very well worth having.
Doesn't do much!.......2002-07-16
Maybe good enough when you need a quick pep talk. Hardly anything new or interesting. Don't waste your money.
Zig gets me going!.......2002-04-25
Im in my 5th year selling housewares at Macys and I sometimes turn to Zig before I go to work to help remind me of what Im supposed to be doing at work--selling! I recomend the tapes for anyone considering a sales career or actually in a sales career.
Thanks Zig.
Easy to listen to.......2002-01-19
This tape kept my interest and made me laugh while giving me great sales tips. As a salesperson I found it motivating.
zig is cheesy but effective.......2000-11-17
When i started listening to the book my first thought was that this guy is an absolute cheese ball. but then i was taken back... i realized while his examples were all cheesy, they proved to be effective examples... they give you an idea of what you should do at that point in the sale... while i dont recomend using his lines, i do recomend this book, and understanding the points he is making with his cheesy lines...

Customer Reviews:
Excellent approach to B2C selling.......2007-10-12
The audio CD is very good tool for beginners who need to know more about selling techniques , however you need to know that :
1. The target customers are clients of commidities purchase and not business to business approach.
2. Mostly the audience need to be english native language to get most of the lecture in pure english accent.
Other than this it's great resource to invest and "value for money".
Zigs The man.......2007-06-29
Very fun to listen to in your car when your driving to customers houses. Lots of good information and insights into selling. Not everything Zig talks about can be used in my line of sales, but for the most part this is a must have audiobook for anyone who wants to be the best.

Customer Reviews:
zig zglar not helpful this time.......2007-05-23
MR.ZIGLAR HAS LOST SITE ON THIS CD, I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND HIM TO BE FANTASTIC, NOT SO MUCH ON THIS ONE. I WAS DISAPPOINTED.
does this come with a money back guarantee?.......2006-10-19
Inane, useless information from a speaker so boring I could hardly get through the 3 CD's (but felt like I had to since I had spent the money on them). Perhaps he is a great salesperson-but I cannot see it. I bought this on the strength of the reviews and am now convinced they were his friends or family stuffing the ballot box. I think this information was aimed at someone in grade school, not a professional sales person.
Responding to "slow down ziglar".......2006-07-26
This is a great book. Most of the stuff that Tony Robbins teaches in his 300$ influence programs has the same exact tenants that Ziglar teaches. Ziglar is the best teacher for success principles, period. I have studied in depth brian tracy, anthony robbins, earl nightingale, jim rohn, and anyone else of note in this field. Ziglar is the best all around. Earl did start it all with lead the field and that may be the best condensed program out there BUT Zig is the best today. Tony and Tracy are 5 star speakers also.
With that said, this book is awesome and really teaches you the most important factors in learning sales. It is all fundamentals.
As for the guy who said, "slow down zig", I find that funny. A human can only speak at about 250 words per minute, 400 words per minute if they are blazing fast. As for how fast your mind can think, probably 1,000 words per minute or more. Good readers read at about 500 wpm or more. So when you say that he is moving too fast for you, I have to wonder if you have issues. That must be a mental block for you because there is no problem at all with the speed of his presentation. STEP UP and STOP WHINING! Start selling!
How good of a salesperson can you be if you complain and can't focus on the material. Everyone is a critic nowadays. Get out of selling and get into movie criticsm. GOOD DAY SIR! lol
Great book.......2006-03-08
This book helps to keep your chin up. Sometimes in sales it can be discouraging. You can only take so many `no's. This is a useful tool to help you get on top and stay there. Ziglar is an incredible teacher.
Too fast! Non-stop reading of scripts!.......2005-11-30
The content is full of valuable information on selling. But this Audio CD is not my favourite.
Ziglar speaks so rapidly and non-stop! I guess nobody speaks in this mannner. I mean, if you want listeners to enjoy your speech, it is better to speak in a more natural pace, occassionally there should be a pause.
Ziglar is rushing the scripts when you listen to this CD. Choking the brain of the listeners with no respite whatsoever! Slow down Slow down......... Ziglar! Give me some space to absorb your message!
I wish I can listen to your CD comfortably, but I can't. You Read the scripts in such a rapid manner that it does not help your listeners to relax and enjoy your works. Ziglar!
