Book Description
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind reveals the missing link between wanting success and achieving it!
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get rich easily, while others are destined for a life of financial struggle? Is the difference found in their education, intelligence, skills, timing, work habits, contacts, luck, or their choice of jobs, businesses, or investments?
The shocking answer is: None of the above!
In his groundbreaking Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, T. Harv Eker states: "Give me five minutes, and I can predict your financial future for the rest of your life!" Eker does this by identifying your "money and success blueprint." We all have a personal money blueprint ingrained in our subconscious minds, and it is this blueprint, more than anything, that will determine our financial lives. You can know everything about marketing, sales, negotiations, stocks, real estate, and the world of finance, but if your money blueprint is not set for a high level of success, you will never have a lot of money—and if somehow you do, you will most likely lose it! The good news is that now you can actually reset your money blueprint to create natural and automatic success.
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is two books in one. Part I explains how your money blueprint works. Through Eker's rare combination of street smarts, humor, and heart, you will learn how your childhood influences have shaped your financial destiny. You will also learn how to identify your own money blueprint and "revise" it to not only create success but, more important, to keep and continually grow it.
In Part II you will be introduced to seventeen "Wealth Files," which describe exactly how rich people think and act differently than most poor and middle-class people. Each Wealth File includes action steps for you to practice in the real world in order to dramatically increase your income and accumulate wealth.
If you are not doing as well financially as you would like, you will have to change your money blueprint. Unfortunately your current money blueprint will tend to stay with you for the rest of your life, unless you identify and revise it, and that's exactly what you will do with the help of this extraordinary book. According to T. Harv Eker, it's simple. If you think like rich people think and do what rich people do, chances are you'll get rich too!

my favorite audio book on money.......2007-10-23
eker is like the money drill sgt. he gives examples why poor and middle class people earn the money they earn. and why the wealthy earn what they earn. i have heard this audio book several times sense 2005. it is barely starting to click, or maybe stick. one of my favorite quotes goes something like: we are wired to survive, not thrive. which explains why we let fear run the coarse of our money lives. that is the flight system, not the fight system we have living instead.
I wish I could have read this book 30 years ago.......2007-10-21
This is a must read. This book is worth it's weight in gold - I plan on purchasing extra copies for several family members and close friends. The Author is very bright, has tons of excellent suggestions and is wise in money affairs. One of the best books I've read in the past 40 years.
Attracting Multi Millionaires and Billionaires..........2007-10-18
I got the book on 3 CDs two years ago after attending Harv Ekers free 3 day seminar.
I had just moved across country with no clients or connections. This great energetic audiobook narrated by the author has made a great difference in my life.
Since practicing what I learned from this book I have attracted tons of hollywood celebrities, high paying jobs working directly with world leaders, calls from Oprah, several meeting with Paris Hilton (as a hair extensions consultant for one of her companies), and now I have attracted billionaire investors for my new school!
I highly recommend this book. Harv and company, thank you, thank you, thank you!
One long sales pitch for his seminars.......2007-10-17
Near the end of the book, T. Harv made a great point about "if you learned something, it was worth it." - I don't think he was referencing the book, but i did learn a few things...and with this logic, it was worth the quick read. What I couldn't stand were the non-stop references to his seminars and subtle hits about how pyramid schemes can make folks money. I'm guessing there is some sort of referral/pyramid scheme with him seminars, hence the majority of the book came off like one big sales pitch to attend his seminar. Take out all references to his seminars and how much they'll help your or have helped others, and you are left with 1/2 of the content, which again, would be worth the read and has some good ideas/points.
Incredible.......2007-10-17
"Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth" by Harv Eker, is an incredible book that covers such topics as various success stories, the millionaire mind seminar, wealth file, rich people focus, and the money blueprint.
The essence of this book is to focus on opportunities rather that obstacles. If you follow Eker's methods I'm sure you'll increase your wealth and quality of life.

Real people, real transformations!
"Absolutely amazing! It completely shifts your paradigm for life. One of the most wonderful things about it is that the results are immediate. My whole perception and relationship to money has undergone a major, substantial change."
—Chris Attwood, writer and teacher, California
"I've spent most of my life trying to figure out what's true and what's real. I have to say I now have a clear glimpse into what it really is."
—Tom Hill, Colorado
"Before Busting Loose from The Money Game, I was very unhappy and frustrated in my life. I was driven to find more ways to make money. I changed jobs, cities, countries, went back to school, read books. Financially, the stress was causing anxiety attacks and migraines so severe I stayed in bed. The joy I feel now is priceless. Money is there when I need it, in the amount that's needed, no matter what occurs (car repairs, unplanned trips, etc.). It's absolutely amazing!"
—Suresh Thakoor, Texas
"As a retired professor on a fixed and limited income, I always lived from a tight budget and felt compressed by it-especially at the end of the year. I don't use a budget anymore and have opened up new streams of income that were always closed to me in the past."
—Howard Rovics, Connecticut
"It opened a whole new dimension for me and shifted my perspective on life completely. I especially love how practical it is. The application is so simple, so effective . . . and fun!"
—Doris Kahle, Hagen, Germany
"I'd had a lot of success in the corporate arena, made a ridiculous amount of money and lost a ridiculous amount of money. But I was caught in a cycle of making it, losing it. I needed to break that cycle-for myself and my family-and this gave me the keys to do that. Busting Loose from The Money Game opened a window I had no clue even existed. This is very cutting-edge, a revolutionary approach to unwrapping yourself from limitations. If you're not satisfied with where you are financially and you're concerned about your future, get this book!"

not worth your time.......2007-10-06
I am what my friends call money and self help obsessed...so reading this book was no stretch for me. I can honestly say that I have read a lot of books on money, and a lot of books about freeing you mind...and this is the WORST book written on both subjects. I totally wasted my time, please take my advice and don't waste yours. Every chapter left me thinking...WHAT? no seriously what is he talking about? It was worthless and I would never recommend it to anyone.
This book has NOTHING to do with money. Don't waste your time or money.......2007-09-30
This book has nothing to do with money. It is a book full of vain philosophies, none of which are backed with any proof whatsoever. If you are looking for good books on managing money, getting out of debt, or building wealth I would recommend books such as: The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey; Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kyosaki; Multiple Streams of Income by Robert Allen; and Money, What Financial "Experts" Will Never Tell You by Alan Williams, Peter Jeppson, and Sanford Botkins. Also check out the website and resources found at [...].
Is Comfort Important To You?.......2007-09-28
Like others have said, the idea is the world, including the human experience is holographic. Maybe it's true, maybe it's not. I'd save a lot then expect to lose it over the course of a year or more it would take you to cross the mental point where you 'bust loose' and really convince yourself that life and money aren't real. At the very least, do not owe anyone money. I just could not vibe with this book for long. I'd rather save, invest and get stuff I want.
Try the library. I never read it now.
An Amazing Book.......2007-09-20
This is an amazing book that really helps the reader to eliminate the sources of dissatisfaction in his/her life if one is willing to commit to The Process. After just a few short days of using The Process I have had some incredible personal breakthroughs and I eagerly look forward to what else I create within my life experience.
My inspiration to buy this book came largely from the few really negative reviews written on this site. Thank you to all those who shared their fears in the form of attacks against the book and its author. I have been clearly shown again that there is tremendous value in that which stirs up so much emotion as people keep their death grip on obsolete views of the nature of life. The world never was flat just because people believed that to be true, acted as if it were true, and invested their lives in protecting those beliefs.
In the pages of this book you will not find strategies on how to earn more money or to protect what you already think that you have, however you will find a strategy to recover all of the energy and power that you have given to your life situations. As you recover this power you will have the capacity to act more boldly to pursue the unique authentic life that you came here to live.
If you have any inclination to buy the book, just go for it. Then give yourself the gifts of reading it with an open mind and applying its wisdom to your life.
Whether you liked the book or not - HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!
Author FAILS to prove his thesis, to put his money where his mouth is. .......2007-08-19
The author proposes that money is an illusion (agreed)and that you can create all the money you want by fully transcending the illusion. He gives a primitive method to eliminate negative beliefs and emotional charges about money --(Psycanics offers a more precise, faster, less painful and more powerful technique.) The book is well written and interesting, even plausible. The reason I fail the book with 1 star is that, at the end, the author states that it is possible to have an infinite abundance of money (one way is writing "magic" checks that are always good). However, the author apparently has never done this. He says he still has multiple streams of normal income from books and businesses and speaking engagements. Until the author proves his thesis by eliminating all human income sources and actually lives wealthy by the means he proposes, this book is just a FANTASY.

Persuasion Master does it again! .......2007-10-22
Once more Dr. Kevin Hogan delivers a quality, content filled power house of a book.
Anyone who wants to understand how to persuade others, do it quickly, and do it so everyone wins, needs to read this book.
Kevin has filled the pages between these covers with high powered proven tools that anyone can apply.
Caution, these tools really do work!
Structured, well explained, practical and... persuasive.......2007-10-04
Do you really want to learn the art of persuasion? This is a trick question - you will understand it after reading the book. I have to say that even after reading it, I do not believe real persuasion is to play a trick on someone. You can fool someone, but in the long run you will get caught and this type of "persuasion" will catch up with you. I am simply not interested in that subject, so I was quite ready to throw the book, if it proved to trumpet the value of tricking someone. The use of the word "trick" in the title is unfortunate, because the book, with a few exceptions, is not a repository of tricks, but a pretty good analysis of successful communication.
The writing is clean and clear. There are no complex theories, statements of advice are explained in a straightforward manner. The reader could appreciate the purposeful style. Although the tactics are listed using a dry numbering system ("Covert Persuasion Tactic #32), they are grouped in chapters following well defined concepts. I thought the authors handled quite well the delicate issues of emotion and belief. One of the positive aspects of the book is that the reader can follow a system to educate new, better communication habits. Some readers could find observations that provoke thinking beyond the simple idea of persuasion.
The authors make an effort to simplify the message of persuasion (they have to persuade you, right?), but they also emphasize the fact that one has to put in more effort in order to get better results. It is about being motivated, knowing what you want and hard work. Some of the more interesting concepts in the book are:
- People don't believe in something because of a specific reason, they just do
- Always be outcome focused, imaging final product
- Avoid mind drifting, which is caused by tiredness
- Focus requires energy
- Anticipate, always anticipate
- Beware when someone else's agenda is on your to-do list
- Communicate with intention
The title and the introduction style do not do justice to the book. It has more depth than it lets you believe. It is better if you take your time and read it slowly - and think about it, rather than skip through it.
Overall, the book is useful, even if you are already familiar with some of the concepts. Occasionally, the book drops the quality by dipping into sales demagogic rhetoric (just ignore that), but considering the size of the covered territory, it has remarkable tempo and interestedness. I am writing this review a month after I read the book and I can say that a few ideas in the book are sticky: they stay with you for a while. That means the book is onto something.
Be A Sales PRO! Read This Book!!.......2007-09-03
Far more than others, Kevin Hogan synthesizes and makes accessible vast amounts of technical and scientific knowlege.....not for the academic, but for the average "sales guy"....those of us who are actually selling and marketing every day and need to know and use this stuff quickly . This is "our" guy. And this stuff works. Its all here. The only thing better is to see him in person! I know. I've read, I've used it, I've been successful with it. Buy this book, read it, do what it suggests, then write Kevin and tell him THANKS.
Lacking in percision.......2007-09-02
Disclaimer: I usually prefer not to speak or write negatively about a given book because I generally do not want to spend the energy required to so. In the case of Covert Persuasion I feel compelled to write a review solely on the basis that I strongly feel this book does not live up to what it purports to give or enable the reader to be able to do. The very title persuades the reader into believing that the forth coming pages contain the necessary wealth of information that will arm the reader with these mysterious and much touted psychological tactics and trick which, when applied, will transform you into a persuasion guru. I contend that this book delivers some of the goods but, falls short of what it could have been and, in the end, is just another tired attempt to market a book/idea in an already saturated and misguided niche (the art or tactics of selling). The author's fall short not because they do not provide statistical data or because they do not provide some sure fire time test listing of persuasion how-to's. Instead, they falls short because they only partially follow through on their attempt to deliver or provide the reader with a full view of any given tactic or trick they are trying to impart upon you. What the authors do is begin a section by telling you what they are attempting to do and how, by the end of this section, you will see or have defined or know how to use said tactic or trick. By section end the reader is left scratching their head wondering and waiting to be given information regarding some trick and, even more annoying, is the author's referencing tactics from a previous section. Maybe the trick or tactic is somehow imparted during the flurry of motivating stories that fill the vast majority of each section or, quite possibly, I was too ignorant to derive the assumed tactic or trick but, regardless of these points, I consistently felt as though is was missing information or that I had fallen asleep during reading and subsequently mis-read a given section and hence I was forced to go back an re-read section after section with the hope of finding all the missing information. Saying that you will defer fully explaining or revealing a trick or tactic until later and then not delivering is like bringing food to a starving person and then eating it yourself. In conclusion, this book does not live up to its title and it was not that helpful as a tool to use in any given situation, especially those where knowing how to apply manipulative subtleties to obtain a desired outcome is needed and important.
The .......2007-09-01
As a former multiple business owner for twenty years and a current business image consultant, I highly value anything written by Dr Hogan about the art of persuasion and influence. Time and again, I have been able to successfully navigate tough business negotiations using the techniques I've learned through Dr Hogan's courses and books. I now have a respectable library of Dr Hogan's material and I am more than excited to add this book to my collection. My husband is an attorney and handles billion dollar contracts and negotiations for the nuclear industry. He actually carries "Covert Persuasion" with him as a reference in his dealings. That says it all!
Anyone who cannot realize the value of the content of this book probably has little real time experience in business dealings.

Book Description
John Perkins's sensational New York Times bestseller Confessions of an Economic Hit Man (more than 300,000 sold) revealed just the tip of the iceberg of the secret world of economic hit men and the web of global corruption. Now more economic hit men and investigators tell the whole shocking story.
Customer Reviews:
Good reference book for "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man".......2007-10-08
This book completely documents how large multinational corporations together with the IMF, The World Bank, and the various "free trade" organizations, as well rule the world and effectively rob from the poor and middle class and increase the wealth of the already wealthy.
It dramatically underscores the fact that if we don't act, and act now, we will be facing a world of new "serfdom", if the world isn't destroyed altogether by the greed and connivery of the world's rich.
This book is a good read, but tends to be a bit dry for the average person. One would be better off tackling books such as John Perkins "Confessions of an Enonomic Hit Man" and "The Secret History of the American Empire" as well as John Howard Kunzler's "The Long Energency" before tackling this book.
A Context the Opposite of What We're Told .......2007-08-17
As an ex-international banker who quit banking for the same reasons John Perkins quit being an Economic Hit Man, I can vouch for the truth of every essay in this fine book. The underlying truth is: the world is increasingly run by the corporatocracy, and it has negligible concern for either the poor countries it purports to help nor the environment in which it functions. The truth is the opposite of what we would like and pretend to be true. And the corporatocracy doesn't just behave as it does in foreign, underdeveloped countries, it behaves the exact same way here at home. The mortgage scandle is the same kind of hustle - selling bad debt to unsophisticated borrowers and investors. The only difference is that the poor people who default on their mortgages don't have natural resources the lenders can now take. Fascism redux.
This is a brilliant book. One can already see how the corporatocracy is ignoring it. It will be interesting to see how it plays out.
The Dark Underbelly of International Economics.......2007-06-27
In CONFESSIONS OF AN ECONOMIC HIT MAN, John Perkins outlined his 20-year career as agent of the government and multinational corporations as they attempted to (and succeeded in) exploiting lesser-developed countries. That book, published by Berrett-Koehler in 2004, painted a rather gloomy picture of the dark side of globalization - in theory, a worthy endeavor.
A GAME AS OLD AS EMPIRE, edited by Steven Hiatt with an introduction by Mr. Perkins, continues the story of this exploitation, abuse, and waste in the name of "globalization." Let me say - as an aside - that I remain a proponent of globalization within the context of responsible stewardship. Removing barriers to trade, offering educational, vocational, and economic opportunities to men and women of all nations, is a good thing. Done properly, economic development and stewardship offers the possibility of true societal progress, ennobling humanity, enriching lives, nurturing the environment and increasing business activity and profits.
Unfortunately, the reality is far different from the ideal. The shortsightedness and greed of political and leaders - focused only on personal enrichment or the next quarter's operating results - leads to a culture of global exploitation. The pattern is familiar: special interests descend like locusts, consume everything in their path, and then move on, leaving a wake of destruction, degradation, and despair.
The book presents a compelling exploration of these economic and human abuses through other voices, most of those voices from men and women that participated for a time in the dance of exploitation for their temporal masters. The individual essays focus on a number of issues ranging from the stranglehold of foreign debt, the culture of ineptitude and corruption in many aspects of international banking, and the unconscionable extraction of natural resources (as in the Congo) at the high cost of human life and economic prosperity.
A GAME AS OLD AS EMPIRE is expectedly one-sided in that it shows only the abuse and corruption of international economics. There are many businesses that operate with high-principles and integrity (while maintaining high earnings for both its management as well as other constituents). However, the book serves an important purpose in that it shows that all is not sunshine and roses in the global economy. There is corruption, waste, incompetence, and short-sightedness that is unacceptable from not only a human standpoint, but from a business valuation perspective as well. I would recommend this book to anyone who seeks to undertake an intelligent study of the state of international economics in the real world.
A revealing survey.......2007-05-10
A GAME AS OLD AS EMPIRE: THE SECRET WORLD OF ECONOMIC HIT MEN AND THE WEB OF GLOBAL CORRUPTION comes from the author of the best-selling CONFESSIONS OF AN ECONOMIC HIT MAN and expands upon the prior book's theme. Where CONFESSIONS was fueled by the author's revelations of economic secrets, A GAME AS OLD AS EMPIRE is joined by other journalists and investigators who tell their own stories of a world-wide web of deliberate corruption, even narrowing topics down to specific countries and how they've been subverted. The result is a revealing survey which expands well upon the popular theme of CONFESSIONS and which deserves a spot in any academic or community library's business, economics, or social issues collection.
A Story that Deserves to be Told.......2007-05-08
This book should be mandatory reading for college students. Through the various essays--written by real people involved in the various aspects of modern empire--the reader gains an understanding of the real work (and damage) done by multilateral development agencies, offshore banks, and global trade organizations. If we want to build a better world and a better future for our children, it is critical we all understand how these various institutions of the global elite affect the global poor.

An Insight into How Romney Works!.......2007-10-22
If you want to know how Mitt Romney approaches business this is a valuable book to read.
Mitt Romney was doing really well in the business world until his dear wife Ann told him that God had been good to them and now it was time to give back. Romney did just that and turned around the Olympics. After that challeng he sorted out Massachusettes and now he has got his eye on the White House.
If you're American and qualified to vote you've got to read this book to find out who Mitt Romney is. A lot of people crticize him because of his faith. This guy has a great relationship with his wife, a great family, has been very successful in business and politics too. The President of the USA should be a man for everyone to look up at. Don't most people dream of being happily married to a beautiful woman, have great kids, become a Millionaire and then President of the USA? Maybe Mitt Romney is the man for the White House...read this book and it will help you decide!
Budget Inversion.......2007-09-04
Amazing what Mitt Romney can do with numbers. If in doubt, do without. He pulled the 2002 winter games off on a no frills budget and turned a scandal into a triumph.
It seems he gets so much grief just because he is a Mormon, but I'm amazed at what he can do and mostly impressed by his get up and go, can do attitude. His wife says he loves emergencies and crisis situations of any kind. He turns the financing of the games from a huge millions of dollars deficit into a millions of dollars profit. Throughout the whole crisis leading up to the games, he made it the mission of the whole team to be honest and forthright with each other and the public. It's blatantly apparent that he always makes an honest million and demands integrity of his team whoever they be. This book was truly inspirational in many ways. If you don't want to read the book or even hate Mitt Romney, at least read the "Prologue" and the first chapter. I love the story of the American flag from the World Trade Center bombing being brought into the Olympic stadium during opening ceremonies. It's really awesome!
There have been other budget inversions in our nation's history. The most remarkable one happened on the eve of this country's founding and was repaired by Alexander Hamilton, our nation's first Treasury Secretary. That tale is best told by Forrest McDonald in his biography of Hamilton.
These are great stories and must reads for government financiers!
Mitt Romney.......2007-09-01
I would never vote for Mitt Romney, and I hope he does not win. He is so full of himself and will lie just to get votes.
Pre-nomination Mitt..........2007-06-27
With a title like "turnaround" I was expecting Mitt to explain why he has reversed all of his positions on abortion, sexuality etc just in time for the Republican nomination.
Unfortunately not.
This book is about a simpler time when Mitt did not have to reverse or hide all of his principles in order to seek higher office. It tells the story of his rescue of the Olympic Games. It is actually quite good (although Mitt takes a LOT of the credit for things that others did). Unfortunately, it also reflects on the "old" Mitt rather than the Mitt 2.0 who is running for the nomination today...
Expect: Mitt Romney to win 2008 presidential election.......2006-12-03
Through this book, I belive in Mitt Romney. He could bring this nation together ...he has the heart and wisdom.

Customer Reviews:
certainly not automated.......2007-09-07
This book is basically about using moving averages. The author at times does not recommend using stop loss. Books by Elder + study guide I found to be more useful in money management area. The method is discretionary and is difficult to program into any computer for backtesting to see performance statistics.
One of the best futures books I have ever read.......2007-07-26
This book turned my trading around. It took me about 5 reads and I switched back and forth between his other book Intelligent Futures Trading, as they are two different presentations of the same subject, with this book being the more detailed.....(the way the IFT book is written appeals to the left brain-the analytical side, and TDBD is more of the in depth version the right brain would appreciate-if that makes sense). Now that everyone thinks I am sufficiently crazy, I will continue: This book will make alot of people gloss right over it without realizing the true power behind the information presented....the info seems so basic that alot of "experienced traders" will go right past it like it is some kind of cliche book....WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WOULD BE! The problem with most traders is that they want to outcomplicate other traders, or find the secret method or whatever you want to call it. Chick explains in a realistic format that we as individual traders must bring the other competitors down to our level if we wish to succeed. Many people will read this book and not appreciate the information- but that is their problem. This book, along with Chuck Dukas' book and Stan Kroll's books are the best books I have ever read.
However, If I had to pick only one book- this would be the one. Chick is a man of integrity and one would do well to listen to everything he has to say.
It took me almost two years to write this review because I wasn't sure if I even wanted anyone else to know about it! But hey, Chick deserves some recognition for outstanding and extremely generous work he has done.
P.S. I still read his book over and over again-being 375 pages and a large textbook size, there is alot to grasp.....very hard to do all at once.....I suggest to read it, read it again, and then repeat often. I learn something new every single time. But maybe I am just dense.

Don't know why this is here as I never purchased this item.
The best activity book.......2007-01-11
I'm a peer facilitator, and this is definitely the best group activity book that I've used. I've always gotten the best response from the activities in this book...they seem to be the most fun for the kids to do, while still teaching important lessons. The book is also very easy to read and understand.
My fellow Peer facilitators and I have about 25 different activity books to choose from, and this is always the one that we each try to grab every week before anyone else gets to it!
Great for church youth groups and leadership teams!.......2007-01-10
I use this book all the time at church with my youth group and with the adult leaders. I have found great mixers in the front of the book to help people get to know one another and in the back of the book the chapter called Open Up has good activities to get people to share about themselves more easily. The middle is filled with tons of team-building activities and it is easy to find something that fits my needs, from a short table game challenge for our weekly dinner to more involved teamwork tasks for our weekend retreats. I also find useful activities for leadership meetings to build community among the adult leaders of the youth group as well. This is the most user friendly and comprehensive team-building book I have found!
waste of time and money.......2006-11-10
Get Theater Games for the Classroom. It is a great community building system. It is not just about theater, read my review for that book, but again, DO NOT GET THIS BOOK!
Book Description
Basic Accounting Fresh From the Lemonade Stand
The world of accounting can be intimidating. But, more often than not, there's no way to avoid it--even non-financial jobs venture into financial jargon and concepts. For those trying to get more done at the office, organize the dollars and cents in a small business or just in need of a refresher, there's no reason to turn to the average number-crunching class again.
The Accounting Game presents financial information in a format so simple and so unlike a common accounting textbook, you may forget you're learning key skills that will help you get ahead!
This book uses the world of a kid's lemonade stand to teach the basics of financial language and records. You'll run your own lemonade stand and make it grow by creating signs to advertise it, borrowing money from Mom, buying lemons and sugar and selling to the whole neighborhood. As you run your stand, you'll begin to understand and apply financial terms and concepts like assets, liabilities, earnings, inventory and notes payable, plus:
--Know the difference between accrual vs. cash accounting methods
--Create and understand an income statement and balance sheet
--Track inventory using LIFO and FIFO
--Create cash statements and understand cash flow and liquidity
--Apply your new knowledge to real-life situations
The revolutionary approach of The Accounting Game takes the typically mundane subjects of accounting and business finance and makes them something you can easily learn, understand, remember and use!
The Accounting Game is produced by Educational Discoveries, the training industry's leader in accelerative learning technology. More than 70,000 people have graduated from The Accounting Game, the world's most successful one-day financial seminar.

Accounting made easy..........2007-10-17
The Accounting Game : Basic Accounting Fresh from the Lemonade Stand
I bought this book with trepidition; I always feared accounting and financial matters. But this book makes learning easy and helps speed retention. Everyone should read this for a better understanding of a sometimes difficult topic.
Fantastic Accounting Book!.......2007-09-17
This book is interesting and entertaining while teaching what is normally a very dry subject. There is enough review for a non-financial type to learn the jargon without being monotonous.
The best accounting book ever, but still suffers some of the same problems as bad accounting books.......2007-08-06
This is an easy, excellent accounting book. It's the best accounting book ever. The examples are clear and understandable. It's fun to read. It gives definitions that you'll remember, and is an excellent overview of accounting.
However, I'm only giving it three stars because it suffers from something that most accounting books suffer from: impossible examples.
This book is done like a worksheet. It's about half simple instruction and half impossible examples. The examples are impossible, because to actually fill them out, you'd have to remember tons of information from 1-10 pages ago. The part where you just read is very good. The part where you're supposed to fill out the account schedules on the pages of the book is almost impossible to do by yourself.
It would be an excellent workbook to be used in a 10-day accounting class, where you write in your book as the teacher writes in his or her book. But, if you're trying to do this on your own, you really would need to keep track of tons on numbers and receipts, etc., to even be able to do the examples.
Dry subject explained in an interesting way........2007-07-19
If you are not an accountant and need to know accounting concepts then this is the book for you. A dry subject explained in an easy and interesting way.
Great BooK.......2007-06-08
This book was very helpful in learning the basics of accounting, I highly recommend this book.

A "must-read" for the sophisticated investor.......2007-10-16
An advanced look at how to invest in the markets. This is a must-read for all investors looking to get a deeper understanding of making money in stocks.
An enlighting book.......2007-09-25
This book gives a further mesage than "buy an index fund". It gives the reader a pragmatic view of investing. The message should be this "Investor know yourself and the scenario where your playing, then act consecuently". Investing is a serious activity and should be taken seriously. Too many traps are set for those who take it as game and too many avoidable dissapointments take place. This book is a great book and a must read for anybody, particularly for those who want to invest their money. For those who may want further reading I would encourage them to read Wealth: Grow It, Protect It, Spend It, and Share It (Paperback) (Wharton School Publishing Paperbacks) and The Little Book of Common Sense Investing: The Only Way to Guarantee Your Fair Share of Stock Market Returns (Little Book Big Profits), they're both easy to read and will give you further knowledge of how seriously investing is.
Ellis doesn't believe his own advice.......2007-05-16
Ellis manages an active fund, which completely goes against the premise of his book. If he truley believes what he wrote, he would act accordingly. However, that isn't why I gave the book 2 stars. I gave the book 2 stars because it is basically a 2-3 page paper expanded to be a full book by using fillers. There is one simple concept, and it doesn't take an entire book to get across.
A classic book on investing.......2007-02-09
Charles was not the first to blow the whistle on active investing but was the first to write a book for the average investor. His advise and counsel are outstanding. In fact he has been called by the current administration to establish criteria for self funded social security investing. The book is a basic tutorial every investor should have on his bookshelf.
Piscaqua Research in a study covering the period 1987-96 found that only 10 out of 145 major pension funds, or just seven percent, out performed a portfolio consisting of a simple 60%/40% mix of the S&P 500 index and the Lehman Bond index respectively.
Or is it logical I ask for you to believe that you can predict which actively managed funds will out perform, or are you overconfident of your skills? If you are trying to find the great fund managers who will out perform in the future ask yourself: what am I going to do differently in terms of identifying the future winning fund managers, than did the pension plans and their advisors? And if you are not going to something different what logic is there in playing a game at which others with superior resources have consistently failed?
If you a really serious in finding an investment technique that will provide you with reasonable return with less risk I suggest the following little book. This is a little book that I have written and contains the essential of how to invest. Just click on the title to find the book.
The book is titled How to Make Money in the Stock Market-Buy 2,500 different stocks for $1000 - Pay no Commission. Easy to read packed with precise directions for success. A cookbook for the investor just follow directions. I enjoyed this book a great deal. It shows how indexing and diversification strategies work and why they are so important to investing success. Unlike many other books, this one is not only informative, but also useful. There should be no question as how to implement the author's strategy and measure your progress. He skillfully addresses asset allocation, and shows how to minimize tax consequences by assigning securities to tax deferred accounts. The author does not dwell on lengthy longwinded discussions but cuts to the quick with useful recommendation and directions for the novice and experienced investor as well. I recommend this book for all investors.Just click on the underlined title to go to the reviews of the book. The author answers all yiur questions by Email within 24 hours. How to Make Money in the Stock Market-Buy 2,500 Different Stocks-Pay no Commission
well written and sensible book on investing.......2007-01-09
The basic idea of winning the loser's game is:
* Institutional fund managers are 90% of the market volume, they *are* the market.
* institutional fund managers, as a whole, on the long term, underperform the market
* the stock market is a loser's game. it's characterized by the behavior of the losers. (ie. all those professional fund managers)
* if you can match the market, you're beating 80% of fund managers.
* Therefore winning at a loser's game involves using index funds to match the market.
The book's forward is written by Vanguard's CEO, and Vanguard is famous for its index funds. Overall, it amounts to well-written sensible advice for investors, although it would be best to take it only on face-value, with due consideration to other theories out there.

Practical and easy to read.......2007-03-11
Many sales managers I know are some of the hardest working people on earth. They don't have time to read theory and work over months or years to apply it.
This book gives a good, practical approach which can be used immediately - invaluable to newly promoted sales managers or veterans. It's the type of book which lets you read a chapter at lunch then use the idea that afternoon!
Miller's approach offers insight and forthright advice on the keys to success in managing sales people.
soup to nuts, but very rudimentary.......2007-02-26
Has chapters for the entire Sales Manager life cycle, from vision/culture to interviewing/hiring, to corrective action. Very basic and rudimentary rather than theoretical such as you'd find in sales management course texts. Maybe this is all that's necessary to gain the big picture rather than dealing with various minutia.
Practical Tools With A Mission.......2006-10-08
'ProActive Sales Management' is packed with practical tools for business executives to drive sales organization in a proactive manner. Miller has coherently illustrated how these tools fit together & help sales organizations to achieve the mission of proactively capture business opportunities; more importantly, he also shows managers how to gain better control of their life while achieving business goals.
A needed concept and training course in sales management.......2006-10-01
Proactive Sales Management shows sales managers how to effectively manage their sales force, motivate the sales team, effectively coach and counsel the sales organization, reduce reports to one sheet of paper and 10 minutes a week and forecast more confidently. A must read for any serious manager who is planning to boost sales and performance.
Highly Recommended !.......2005-02-24
This book by William "Skip" Miller, a sales veteran and experienced trainer of sales managers, provides a wealth of information and guidance. Experienced sales managers will find it useful and new sales managers will find it indispensable. Miller covers cultural change, goal setting, recruitment, hiring, firing and more. He pays plenty of attention to day-to-day management, albeit in the context of his "ProActive" sales management program. Use this short, expansive manual as a handbook. For example, when you need to recruit, hire or terminate someone, consult the appropriate chapter. The book is easy to read and full of common sense. We recommend it highly to its target audience: sales managers.
