Great Content.......2007-10-16
This book is a great start up book for investors just getting in the game. What I liked most though it's not like most real estate books where they tell you how to do it.
They
dive into the why you do it and the core principles you need to have in order to invest in real estate. The book also shows that real estate is a serious business. Take your time reading this book and grasp the core principles and habits that they are talking about.
Stop Selling Us More and Tell Us More.......2007-08-24
I do love to read a lot of the books from Trump, and this one is similar to the others in terms of format. It's very vague at times, and the author tries to sell your more books in the script. I'm starting to realize any material offered by Trump is going to have at least 10 books referenced that are highly recommended for you to read once you complete the current one you are reading.
I was expecting to read about all the steps involved with purchasing, financing, marketing, upgrading and managing real estate in this book. I suppose I assumed this would be like a dummy's guide to real estate investing, but it was a little more for the novice investor--at least it was more advanced than the 101 title implies, especially in the final chapter. I was let down in some areas, but the last few chapters about managing and valuating property are phenomenal.
I scaled down the rating due to all the publicity of additional reading material but I did think the final chapter on valuing properties was incredible so I gave it 3 stars. Had it been a little more in depth about financing real estate and excluded all the promoting of other books, then I could've given it 5 stars.
Anyone with common sense need not read this: Save your $21.95.......2007-07-02
I was very disappointed at the shallow nature of this volume. Several chapters in I realized that this was just another way for Trump to generate a few more royalty dollars. This whole volume can be summarized in a few general maxims: Chapters 1-3 Think like an entrepreneur... meaning take risks. Chapters 4-5 Do your OWN homework ... meaning don't rely on generally accepted rules. Chapters 6-10 Come up with the NEXT great idea ..... meaning think outside the box don't just follow the herd. The only reason I did not give this book a 1 star * is that the last four chapters DO contain some valuable information and charts, formulas and methods that DO go beyond just common sense or obvious advice like where's the market headed? (Chapter 6). In particular it was not until the final chapter (14) How to Value Properties did I actualy take my pen and paper out and start to take some notes. A far better read is Confesssions of a Real Estate Entrepreneur. Save your Time. Use your Common Sense and Spend your $22 bucks to buy another book.
read with caution.......2007-06-14
I would prefer to give a book 5 stars, but cannot always do so. I gave this book as a gift to a friend who is a broker and fellow investor. We have had many discussions about Trump's life. I respect Trump's passion. This book glossed over the details and I had hoped for more tactics. Read it cautiously... Doug Gray, PCC, and author of Passionate Action: 5 Steps to Extraordinary Success in Life and Work
The Donald.......2007-05-03
This book was not written like one of those informercials. It has a great no-nonsense approach to help you make money in real estate. Is there anyone that knows more about that than Donald Trump? I probably would have given it one more star if he wasn't so full of himself.

Everything you didn't learn in school...in small lesson........2006-01-16
Lots of delicious tidbits to get the brain juices flowing. This is the appetizer to all your wealth meals. I bought it, initially, because it was one of the few books that touched on the subject of buying notes. It's simple and easy to read. So if you're not sure which direction you want to go to build your wealth...start here. You can refer to it over and over when you're ready for a new wealth concept.
good summary of strategies, short on detail.......2005-08-09
This book is easy to read and covers a wide spectrum of financial strategies. This is exactly what the book was meant to do, and I think it does a pretty good job at it. There are quite a few references to the author's other works for those interested in particular strategies. Clearly, I would recommend that someone only use this book as a good overview of strategies, but not for making any specific financial decision. This should give you the information to decide how to pursue your financial goals, but you would want to pursue much more specific and detailed material on real estate, stocks, options, etc.. before making any specific financial decisions.
Should be taught in schools as a Wealth Course.......2004-07-11
Wealth 101 is a compendium of Wade's best strategies, all inone book. You will learn about covered calls, rolling stocks, options, stock splits, lease options on real estate, corporations and more. This really should be a college course and taught as Wealth 101. Great stuff!
101 STRATEGIES THAT REALL WORK!!.......2003-09-27
This book is a compendium of Cooks Real Estate, Stock Market and Busines strategies. Actually 101 strategies from someone who has been in the trenches, knows what works and what doesn't work.
Too many other books are written by "paper authorities" who only write based on popular dogma perpetuated by other authors who are high on advice but low on experience.
Wealth 101 should be taught in schools. Good book, you'll love it.
wealth 101.......2003-09-15
...its a good book to read for inspiration. The best reading is the little tidbits of insight that are sprinkled throughout the text of the book(time management, financial planning, ect) I find, however, the real estate and stock market strategies mere filler and the book itself doubles as a catalogue for products and services. The book is definitely marketed to the "get rich" and "seminar junkie" crowds. I like the book for the information on what not to do and what one should do to be successful. I am not completely enamored of the investing and real estate strategies largely because I believe one should consult respected specialists in the various topics covered within the book. However,I believe the book alludes to this fact. Overall an entertaining read but the book is not worth the purchasing price new as is the case with most books of this genre. I give it 2 stars because the content therein may be of interest to the various markets mentioned above.

This book offers little value.......2004-07-07
I bought this book at a local offline store with great interest. As I read it from cover to cover, I was disappointed to find the flow of information just a fleeting thought by its author. The book very well serves the (ill)famous way of *mw*y corporation called: self-perpetuation without inspiration. It talks and talks of network marketing as a way of creating wealth .. but never tells how to build a network for marketing. No people skills, no personality development tips, no sales/presentation tips are ever given. If you really want to read something of value, read just the last 4 pages (I mean it!) .. all the rest just a preamble that promises some valuable reading to come up in subsequent pages. I am sure the author/publisher knows well not to allow *Search-Inside-The-Book Feature* at Amazon.com.
My two words of advice: Keep-Away! (from this book).
For the scpetics of network marketing........2002-06-02
Some people don't think network marketing is the best way to wealth. My question to them is "Are you wealthy? And if you are how did you become wealthy?" Networking is the best way for everything in life. It is how you make friends and wealth. And it will teach patience. This is an excellent book to change the way one views business and personal finance. This book comes highly recommended.
Not what I expected.......2002-03-07
The book begins very well, great concepts and examples of how copicating has been always used for smart people to create or increase wealth, but it takes a turn for the worse when turns into propaganda for franchising and NETWORK MARKETING, the author translates the whole concept into Amway and McD.
I mean there are nothing wrong with that, actually they are very succesfull companies, but I personally dont think those are the best way to become wealthy.
CopyCat Marketing 101.......2000-11-24
An excellent book. An easy read. A great tool to assist in building a large multi level business.

Book Description
A resource for integrating faith and finances, Faithful Finances 101 is a first-person narrative by an outspoken advocate of faith-based investing. Financial counselor Gary Moore strips the veneer from evangelical views of the illusions that dominated much of the economic scenes of the last two decades and offers, with "hopeful realism," a guide to true riches based on a biblical worldview.
Moore moves from frank observations on religious pride to a discussion of making money but losing faith. He sees faith as integral to each and every aspect of investing. Using the financial teachings of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures, he shows people how to take sound but fragmented ideas about modern political, economic, and theological reality and mold them into a coherent whole. He cites people he respects, including Henri Nouwen, Chuck Colson, Sir John Templeton, and Robert Schuller.
Differentiating between having a Christian financial planner and having a Christian financial plan, Moore explains that spiritual investing connects the soul of theology, the mind of economics, and the heart of politics, freeing the spirit for "balanced riches" that benefit not only individuals but the world.
He explores the Scriptures, pointing out guidance offered by the patriarchs and prophets, as well as the financial challenges of the gospels. With this Biblical foundation, he then presents a vision for true wealth n the Third Millennium.
Faithful Finances features a forward by Sir John Templeton.

A sound Christian perspective on investing.......2003-12-06
It was a real treat to find Faithful Finances 101 recently.
I was a Baptist pastor for 17 years and am now an Investment Representative with Edward Jones. It is difficult to find responsible, wholistic, and positive investment advice from a Christian perspective.
I appreciate the clear and precise critique of popular economic and investment perspectives prevalent among many Christians today. It was especially helpful that Moore was willing to name those with whom he disagrees. Unfortunately, there is often no other way to encapsulate a differing viewpoint than to name the teacher of that viewpoint (for example, Larry Burkett). I know this can be perceived negatively, but it seems to me that when a person is so distinctly identified with a particular point of view, the use of the name speaks much more to the teaching than the person. The critique was far from personal and dealt constructively with ideas that are often presented as the "Christian" point of view.
I suspect Moore has received some criticism for his differing viewpoint and the method he used. Hopefully, his approach will be seen as a constructive and challenging voice in what it means to live as a responsible Christian steward. I certainly saw it as helpful. It is troubling that these days thoughtful debate is often taboo. Perhaps we will come to a place in the future where differing voices are seen as different facets of the diamond rather than heretical thoughts.
For some reason, so many people forget how consistently wrong some of these negative Christians perspectives have been through the years. I suppose anything could happen in the future--as the old saying goes, "even a broken clock is right twice a day." But there is biblical wisdom that speaks to a different reality consistent with the investment market--one that is full of long term hope and possibility. The chapter on the 'Creativity of the Patriarchs' sent my mind thinking of the multitude of biblical examples concerning the responsible creation of wealth and stewardship in the world. Abraham diversified. Jeremiah bought on the worst day of the market. Solomon expanded boundaries. Nehemiah built an incredible organization and navigated challenging circumstances through creative leadership. Paul was an entrepreneurial businessman while doing ministry. Jesus taught that responsible investing is tantamount to kingdom living, and showed that self giving is the ultimate investment. There are many more but time does not permit.
We live in an incredibly challenging environment to live as responsible stewards in the world. There seems to be an exceedingly thin slice somewhere between negative Christian voices and a hostile, unethical world where Moore's wholistic Christian voice for responsible stewardship can navigate.
Thought provoking ideas on finances.......2003-11-21
I have read many books on finances that you would find on the shelves of Christian bookstores. Some are biblical and give good advice. Many feed greed and fear motives and do little to help people integrate financial concepts into their daily lives. Gary's book does an excellent job at two things:
1. Accurately describing a biblical worldview of money. As he so often points out in this book, Christians have been told to give 10% to their local church. But few have been trained how to be a good steward of all the money, talent, time and health that God blesses us with.
2. Challenging conventional ideas in the "Christian" media that feed on fears- Y2K for example- or greeds- the give/ to get mentality that many unbiblical ministers promote. Gary does a terrific job of presenting a balanced and passionate way to live and think about money that is honoring to Christ.
I consider it sad when many in the church recommend books such as Rich Dad/ Poor Dad- a worldview that is not even remotely biblical. I would love to see every concerned Christian read, meditate on, and implement the ideas that Gary presents in this book. Every disciple of Christ that is interested in growing in the understanding of stewardship should buy and read this book.

Discover the Too-Often Hidden Dimensions of Real Wealth.......2003-06-28
Thinking evangelical Christians should find this book helpful. So would any other thinking person. Gary Moore brings his personal experiences, profound wisdom, and deep spirituality together to strip away the smoke and mirrors that all too often confuse people both spiritually and financially. He never promises riches. He does provide a firm, spiritually-oriented foundation that should help most people do very constructive things for others and themselves with their financial resources.
Some of what he has to say is the insight he has gained as a financial advisor and student of theology. Some is time-honored common sense. Sadly, as he reveals, too often religious and other leaders have advocated other paths, and the results may have been painful for those who took their advice.
Virtually anyone, from the wealthiest to those with very modest incomes, can find something in this volume which will be helpful and not difficult to follow. Moore empowers by giving the reader possibilities into what he or she may personally do to be a responsible steward, and his approaches literally work around the world. If you want to strengthen or renew your hope in your faith, yourself, and your world then "Faithful Finances 101" is an excellent place to start.

Attaining the Wealth You Deserve..........2001-11-20
...another of the great Life 101 Series Peter McWilliams (this is with John-Roger) is over 500 pages of solid gold advice and affirmations. The authors define wealth (40 pages of ways of looking at life), then money--and how important it is in the overall scheme of things. They show you how to enjoy what you already have...the section "You Can Have Anything You Want, but you Can't have Everything You Want" is kind of a summary statement for the entire journey presented here, but then the authors tell you, "Obtaining Is Easy; Maintaining is Hard"...they suggest that it is all an Inside Job. One which requires a bit of maintenance. They then tell you how to get more of anything you want. Money. Popularity. How to win the Powerball. (Just kidding on that last item.) Well, if they don't have the "How to" on winning the Powerball, they have the "How to" on how to enjoy the winnings. Every other page is an appropriate quote to suit the
writers' text and one can find enjoyment out of reading these alone if one is so inclined. Oprah Winfrey gives the gist of the
authors' major intention. She says "Before I had money I was really quite happy. And, I will tell you this...I never would have gotten the money If I wasn't happy to begin with". Again, it is written with those who are Brain Numb (like I am) in mind. Even if you don't become wealthy overnight, you would have taken a step in the right direction to achieve wealth and financial stability by getting this great book.

Best Trump Book I Have Read So Far.......2007-10-19
I have been a fan of Trump for a long time. One of my all time favorite books is the Trump classic, "The Art of the Deal". What I have found in Wealth Building 101 however is far more valuable. The book is a literal blueprint for success and wealth. It tells you exactly what to do, how to do it and why you should start yesterday.
Much of the wisdom of this book I am already applying to my life but there are new things even for an old timer like myself in this book along with methods to tie things together in a much more organized way.
Some love Trump and some well, not so much, what I will say though is this if you want to build a wealth portfolio this is the book you simply must have. This is a how to manual by a dream team of Donald's personal advisers. Trump clearly can afford the best, now you can to for the price of a book.
This One Goes Beyond Other Books about Personal Finances.......2007-10-17
I just want to say that all the Trump University books are excellent, and this might be the best of them all - at least it speaks most directly to my personal needs. I have a shelf full of books about investing and personal wealth, but this one really breaks ground. Specifically, it talks about the essential functions that real estate investing and entrepreneurship play in getting rich. And when you stop and think about it, that really makes a lot of sense. Donald Trump and other ultra-rich people (from Branson to Jobs) all started companies and have real-estate holdings. So that is why I say that this book expands on the information that I have found elsewhere. I also like the advice on protecting what you have earned, but I am only getting into those chapters now.
So overall, a home run.
One of the best I have read!.......2007-10-03
I have read books by just about every financial guru out there including many prior books by Donald Trump and I have to say this is the best one so far. Unlike many wealth building and investing books this book actually tells you what to do and more importantly what to do right now. If you really want to understand how people like Donald Trump think and then know how to translate that thought process into action you simply have to read this book.
Sharing Wealth.......2007-10-01
My fiance and I received this book as a gift from my "soon to be" brother in law. At first, I took it as a dig about how much money we make. However, after reading it, I think this is the best gift we received to help us start our new lives together. It really changed my perspective on how to organize my own personal finances, which I learned is the first step on the road to building wealth. Wealthy people are wealthy because they think about their money differently. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
Good Useful Information .......2007-10-01
Normally these kind of books are not my cup of tea--but I must confess, I got into this one. It's filled with some pretty useful/practical information. I'm actually just starting to use the worksheets in this book now to get a better handle on my finances.
