Book Description
An extraordinary value at the price, this compact, easy-to-use reference offers boaters a complete set of full-color navigation charts for the 1,090-mile Intracoastal Waterway, running from Norfolk to Miami, as well as charts for all the major Atlantic inlets en route. This edition has been fully updated through late 2001 and now features a larger size to allow chart segments to be presented at the same scale as the original NOAA charts from which they are reproduced.

Intercoastal Waterway Chartbook.......2007-01-12
Great book, you have to have them to run the intracoastal and it's MUCH cheaper at Amazon then in the bookstores - or boat stores!!
Intracoastal Waterway Chartbook : Norfolk, Virginia, to Miami, Florida.......2005-10-09
A must for traveling the Intercoastal Waterway. A very detailed illustrative set of information to successfully achieve your trip.
Excellent source... More than a set of charts!.......1999-07-14
Very usable in it's small page spiral format. Flipping pages as one cruises north or south is easy, and takes very little space at the helm. The annotations indicating marina locations save looking in separate guides when a stopping point is desired. Some obvious side trips (e.g. Banana River) are omitted and would have helped increase usefulness if included.
Excellent up-to-date reference.......1999-04-11
The charts are well organized and very reliable. Only a minimum number of aids were missing or changed in number. Some of the bridge info is a little dated but generally did not cause any navigational problems.

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Miller's Antiques Price Guide 2007.......2007-01-04
I have every issue of this guide series. Some from the original British publish. There are two Miller guides this is the original and but has an international feel mostly. It mainly English and Eurpoean if you get the English version and added more American for the American version. The one selling here is the American verson. This is the most standard antique price guide around. Base on auction listing and dealer asking & sold prices. It a professional guide and Miller has other guides for focus themes.

Every recipe a winner.......2003-08-29
I have purchased and given as gifts over a dozen copies of this book. My husband purchased it as a present in 1987. Getting one of these books from me is a family "welcoming" tradition. There is not one recipe that hasn't been great. I had to retire my first book as it was spattered with "ingredents".
I am writing this review as this wonderful book, with many subsequent printings, did not have one review. Grab up the remaining copies and give as Christmas presents to all the cooks in the family.

Book Description
At once a powerful love story and an intricately plotted mystery, Winterton Blue is the breathtaking new novel from the Booker Prize finalist and national best-selling author of The Hiding Place and Remember Me. For the last twenty years, Lewis has been haunted by his brother’s death. Then, on a quest to finally find the person he believes is responsible, he meets Anna, who is haunted by her mother. Except her mother, Rita, happens to be very much alive and is the exact opposite of her daughter; loud, carefree, and a daredevil. At seventy-six, she still runs a guest house overflowing with cocktails, music hall turns, and her boyfriend, Vernon, a retired actor and bon vivant. Recognizing a kindred spirit in each other, Lewis and Anna are at first too headstrong to admit they are susceptible to love. Against the backdrop of the Norfolk coast, with its massive skies and relentless seas, they must learn to trust each other and accept that an uncertain future can be as wild and alluring as the landscape they have grown to love.
Customer Reviews:
Love in a fog.......2007-07-03
If disfunctional families are your thing, Winterton Blue, beautifully written, is the book for you. If you can imagine Azzopardi writing a love story in a dark, dank cellar in England, then you won't be surprized that the characters reek of uncertaintly, distrust, violence, and tiny hints of joy.

Book Description
Afghanistan has been ravaged by war for more than twenty years; the Soviet Union, the Mujaheddin, the Taliban and the United States have all played their part. Norfolk's powerfully beautiful images reveal utter devastation on a vast and overwhelming scale. Afghanistan is unique, utterly unlike any other war-ravaged landscape. In Bosnia, Dresden or the Somme, for example, the devastation appears to have taken place within one period, inflicted by a small gamut of weaponry. However, the sheer length of the war in Afghanistan, now in its 24th year, means the ruins have a bizarre layering; different moments of destruction lying like sedimentary strata on top of each other.
Afghanistan won the Leica-sponsored European Publishers Award for Photography 2002.
An exhibition began its US tour in late 2002.
Simon Norfolk worked as a photojournalist through the early '90s on projects relating to fascism, the far-right, anti-rascism issues and Northern Ireland. He was assigned to eastern Europe at the fall of the Berlin Wall and covered the Gulf War. In the mid '90s he turned to landscape photography, working for four years on his book For Most Of It I Have No Words: Genocide, Landscape, Memory. This was published to wide acclaim including praise from the novelist Anne Michaels and Louise Arbour, Chief Prosecutor of the War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague.
Book Description
Built between 1734 and 1765, Holkham Hall - the Earl of Leicester's 25,000-acre estate in Norfolk - is a tribute to a time gone by. This great house full of exquisite works of art, one of England's premier tourist destinations, continues to be a thriving, self-sufficient community, providing visitors with a unique perspective on rural life as it was lived during the estate's conception. This colorful guide to the house and park explores for the first time the landscape and the architectural history of Holkham Hall, profiling the client for whom the mansion was conceived and built, detailing its fascinating construction process, and describing the magnificent historic interiors.
Customer Reviews:
Fascinating.......2007-10-10
This is a very good book on a fascinating family and a grand estate. Holkham is without doubt one of the grandest of the non royal estates, it really is quite a stack of stones. The history makes the house all the more interesting. The images in this book are very good and the text is very well researched. A must have!
Holkham from within and without.......2007-05-07
An exceptionally well written account of the building, builders, and custodians of a magnificent piece of history. Would that this sense of stewardship were more widespread.
Enjoy.

Book Description
Simon Norfolk has photographed sites of genocide and war crimes-names that ring like a death knoll for mankind-Rwanda, Cambodia, Vietnam, Auschwitz, Dresden, Ukraine, Armenia, Namibia. His photographs are charged with an overwhelming emotional intensity as they document where humans have left their trace. They are an extraordinary record of man's inhumanity to man.
Customer Reviews:
nice pictures, bad book design.......2007-08-01
with a photography book measuring 9x13 inches, one would expect the photographs to take up a healthy percentage of the space on each page. not so with this book. each photo measures under five inches square(infact the page layout is identical to whats on the cover). i suppose the author figured that given the subject matter, each of the photos needed plenty of breathing room. this may be. but in doing so, i feel they have sacrificed the impact and clarity that comes with a larger reproduction.
-as well, the photos do get progressively weaker as the book goes on...
Moving subject matter, beautiful photographs.......2000-08-03
Norfolk is a brilliant photographer who has taken very difficult subject matter and made beautiful images. He photographed in places which have seen terrible events, past and present: Vietnam, Auschwitz, Cambodia, Rawanda, to name only the most recognizable. The photographs are true, just. No heartstring pulling here. Only clear vision and humane expression. The essay by Ignatieff matches the level of the photograhps. I thank and applaud the authors.

Incredible! It will stay with me a long, long time........1997-06-13
From the very first line of this book, I was immersed in a hypnotic, lyrical, uncompromising book where real people did very real things -- the grief process Ben went through felt so real, so poignant. I was spellbound. I'll look for everything else the author has written -- I felt privileged to read work of this high caliber
