Customer Reviews:
Nice Guide for Beginners.......2007-06-16
The author writes a nice overview of the entrepreneurial process. It's basically for novices but it does a good job for this audience. The only problem I have with this book is that it is too basic and is therefore non-unique because it is so low-level. Regardless, I must say that for the right audience, it does a fine job over giving the big picture.
If you are advanced or aspire to become advanced, I would recommend "The Startup Company Bible for Entrepreneurs" but only for high-tech entrepreneurs. Even this author has recommended it.
A Must-Have for Entrepreneurs.......2007-05-14
Steven gives great illustrations to drive home his insightful advice for entrepreneurs. As he's "been there, done that," we can take his advice to heart in the hopes of becoming a success like him!
Exellent Book.......2007-05-11
Great book for getting ready to open a new business. Would refer to anyone thinking about opening a business.
Brief and to the point.......2007-04-27
This is a delightful little book that contains a wealth of useful and helpful information and ideas on starting a small business and ensuring that it is viable and succesful. The book is well written and easy to follow and interesting to read.
This is a must read for entrepreneurs, particularly budding ones as the information the book provides is very practical and can help you avoid making costly errors. The book covers a wide range of topics including the start-up process, marketing the business on a small budget, cash-flow forecasting, among other things.
The book is an excellent companion for the entrepreneur that is well worth having.
Invaluable advice for the budding entrepreneur.......2007-03-04
This book does a terrific job of presenting some of the most important issues entrepreneurs face when embarking on new ventures, touching on topics such as the business plan, funding, team building, and cash flows. Using simple, yet stunningly accurate models of the entrepreneurial process, Steven Gold distills complex subjects into simple, practical, take-away messages. The classification of entrepreneurial personalities (professionals, pragmatists, and inventors) is something I think we can all relate to. I find the metaphor which compares building a new company to making "stone soup" equally compelling. There are countless books out there for budding entrepreneurs, but this one is no fluff. It gets right down to the nuts and bolts so you can concentrate on your business.
Book Description
Manufactured homes are a great solution to the problem of affordable housingif you can get financing for them... This book reveals how to use a little-known federal program to get the best deal on the planet in financing your manufactured home if placed on a solid foundation on land (i.e. not in a "park").
Customer Reviews:
Mistitled Book.......2007-06-20
I was very disappointed in this book. The title of the book should not be so all encompassing as Manufactured Home Financing-How to get the Best Deal on the Planet. It only deals with the Rural Housing Guaranteed Program. You have to be low-income, possibly moderate-income, and it's only a rural land/home loan for 30 years. I do not want a 30-year loan, so this book was useless for me, even if I qualified. I would check out the program in your state before you invested any money in this book, because you might not qualify, and as I stated before, this is the ONLY financing option this book covers. Also, he had some very positive statements regarding manufactured housing vs. site-built in Chapter Two that just aren't true according to my research, and he has nothing to back them up but his word (things regarding appreciation and being easier to finance due to better insulation...etc.) Although, the book could be helpful to those who qualify for the Rural Housing Guaranteed Program, if you don't qualify or don't want a 30-year loan, it's of no value to you. Although it was interesting to know the Rural Housing Guaranteed Program exists, it wasn't worth my buying a whole book. It should be titled or subtitled more truthfully.
helpful and informative.......2007-01-14
This book was chock full of information on how to finance a manufactured home. We learned a lot before buying our manufactured home, however unless you are in a situation where you are in a rural area and own your own land, this book will really only serve as informational. For a land-lease situation, it wasn't as focused, mainly advising it was a bad idea -but you have to determine that yourself based on your situation and opportunities. However. the book was educational and helpful in learning the lingo and scenarios that come about dealing with banks and such.
Buy this Fantastic Book --If You Want to Buy A Home.......2006-03-06
If you think that you are going to be kept out of the housing market forever, do yourself a favor and buy this book! It is so easy to read and understand, you'll feel as though the author is sitting across from you and just explaining what's what! This information is so important! Everything he says about this government program has proved to be true. I am now shopping for my brand-new, no down payment, manufactured home!
Must have book for the manufactured home buyer.......2005-03-03
Do you want to finance a manufactured home on land you intend to purchase and save money? Get this book! I have been a real estate agent in California for a number of years and had never heard of the Rural Housing Guaranteed Loan Program for financing manufactured housing. This book has been a real eye opener to me. The writing is lively and logical. Don't delay ordering this book-you'll be glad you did.
A straightforward guide to getting the best possible deal .......2004-12-13
Loan officer Tony Evans puts his years of experience to the printed page in Manufactured Home Financing, a straightforward guide to getting the best possible deal in financing one's manufactured home. Individual chapters address the advantages of manufactured housing, how to interact with dealers and salespeople, the ins and outs of financing loans, what to do after the loan closes, important forms and documents to be aware of, and much more. An excellent resource offering insight into a little-known, government-sponsored program meant to help middle-income people achieve the dream of owning a nice home.

Get another book too.......2004-08-27
I recommend "Retirement Nightmare" ISBN: 1573927961 . To avoid a guardianship in the State of Florida, and other states, should be of paramount importance. Find out how to protect yourself and your loved ones with alternatives: health care surrogate, durable power of attorney, mediation and more. Consider that if you leave your parents to fend for themselves, and ignore the deterioration associated with aging, a guardian can gain a guardianship over them and their assets, without informing you. That guardianship will nullify the most meticulous of plans. To really cover your aging parents, make sure they create a "Pre-need" guardianship and name someone they trust, this is the only way predators in the retirement homes will not be able to force guardianship on them. Also create an irrevocable trust.
some contact numbers wrong.......2004-05-28
Basically a great book. Unravels the confusion that you face when trying to plan care for your parents. But I found a few of the phone contact numbers to be wrong. For instance: on page 157: The Transit Hotline Number. This turns out NOT to be a number for consumers but for agencies.
Making your way through the social service maze is hard enough and unfortunately putting wrong numbers in the book doesn't help. Makes you wonder if they didn't check them before publishing.
Highly recommende!.......2003-10-30
Everything you will need to figure out how to take care of a senior is here. The many contact numbers are very useful.
Great Resource for those with aging parents.......2002-08-23
Very little on this subject is written in the daily press despite the growing numbers of seniors in US.
Just as important as understanding your taxes each year another topic we'd love to ignore, facts are provided with an understanding of the complexities of the subject matter.
The issues are addressed in a manner to provide the inside scoop on how to deal with the issues and provides resources. Provides a starting point for drafting your parental plan of action if one is not in place. Found this overall to be a great introduction to these issues.
Consumer Reports' Guide to Seniors' Health Services.......2000-12-17
This volume is a compilation of the latest facts about caring for senior citizens. The facts clearly presented here enable caregivers and seniors to explore available services and compare the costs and benefits of each. Informed decisions can be made based on the background knowledge in this book and interviews of service providers in your area. A must-read for anyone who is responsible for elder care.

Great read for any real estate investor!.......2007-09-12
In these rocky times for real estate investors it's getting harder to sell houses. This is an excellent book that explains how the seller financing procedure works. It is the most complete book on the subject that I have ever read. If you are a real estate investor and you rehab houses or lease option, this is a must read.
A Great Primer.......2007-09-11
Don't bother taking Russ Dalbey's course. Read this book, call Eddy to create the note he'll buy then go fishing.
Streetwise Seller Financing.......2004-07-08
I've done private financing using seller notes for over 20 years. In this field, knowledge and integrity are of extreme importance. This book provides all the knowledge that any note seller will ever need, and more. We've always known this method of funding can quadruple the inquiries and double the qualified buyers, now the average seller knows how everything works. That's a hundred times better than being at the mercy of the institutional mortgage system as it now exists.
Streetwise Seller Financing.......2003-12-18
If you are interested in seller financing, this is the book you must have. As a practicing attorney for 30+ years, specializing in real estate, I thought I knew it all but I even learned some things from Mr. Speed's book. He speaks to the issues facing seller financing in a way that is easy to understand and follow with real world solutions. This is a tough area with many dangerous curves but Streetwise Seller Financing addresses each issue providing valuable tips to assist the seller. I found the book to be of more help then many of the legal books due to the fact that Mr. Speed does not give you theory but just important facts on the correct way. I have dealt with many lenders in my years of law practice that could have used this book.
Every seller financer and note holder should read this!.......2003-11-15
Eddie Speed quotes the seasoned Texas banker who said, "The best time to worry about a loan is before you make it." Then he details how to do so. As a note broker, I can recommend this book to anyone considering seller financing. Whether you plan to collect payments for 30 years or you want to sell your note at some time in the future, this book will help you create a note that is more likely to be an asset you can sell instead of a life time headache. This book is a guide for the creation of the note and a reference for managing it. It even has helpful ideas for what to do when things go wrong during the life of the note. This book proves that good things come in small packages. Every note holder should keep it handy. I plan to.

Customer Reviews:
The only source for real business opportunities.......2004-12-15
Ty Hicks writes books that are pre-sale materials for his other more detailed products. They are intended to show the wealth seeker the possibilities. Many of the reviewers that critized the Hicks materials probably paid thousands for an education that has not made wealthy other wise they would not have looked at this book. Specialized knowledge is what Hicks is selling. The "kits" provide the details. They are larger and more expensive and would be marketable in a book store. The newsletter has real info on loan sources. Hicks does actually answer his phone and will answer your questions. There are no other books in a book store that will give everything needed to actually run a business and learn the business. Even my other favorite, Robert Kiosaki, doesn't tell what to do in any of the Rich Dad books. So get over it and get off you rear and stop read these books and start doing business.
Still an interesting book for ideas.......2004-10-11
While I would agree with most other reviewers that this is more of an "idea" book and not much on the nuts-and-bolts, still, every great business in the world did start with an idea.
The author uses repeated references to his own products because that is what he knows best and his product line was fabulously successful in sales! I did not find these mentions distractive.
The reference list of associations in Chapter 5 is useful and handily organized. The list of products/services in the back does contain some business ideas that I had not considered before.
The banking and loan information tips are particularly valuable and presented in easy-to-understand terms. The author's advice is excellent, and the average person probably does not know how to approach the applications in the way he explains.
Terrible, a waste of money and space on my bookshelf!.......2003-11-04
This is probably the worst book on business that I have ever read. The business suggestions that Tyler Hicks gives are not realistic and will NOT make you rich. Additionally, he spends most of his time selling his other products. To me, this book is the prototypical "get rich quick" scheme that never works for anyone. Don't waste your money.
BUYER BEWARE!.......2002-12-16
Should be titled: 203 OTHER BOOKS AND THINGS YOU CAN BUY FROM TYLER HICKS TO MAKE HIM RICH!
I've bought your book - now stop selling at me!!.......2002-07-04
One or two tentative ideas hidden amongst 342 pages of adverts for more of his products. Every time I came across another "plug" for one of his "kits" or "handbooks", I believed less and less in what he had to say.
Sort of like the literary equivalent of the door-to-door insurance salesman!
If you could get past the adverts, then there is some value in the ideas and motivational messages.

Big help for small business.......1998-09-23
At last, here's a book about how to get financing for a small business that covers all the possible sources in plain, readable English! The handy "Quick Pick Chart" of financing resources is worth the price of the book, not to mention the many sample forms and useful glossary. This is the fifth book in the CCH small business series and it's every bit as good as its predecessors.
Book Description
Updated to account for current low interest rates and historically high real estate prices, this book advises on the details of getting a mortgage for a home purchase, dealing with banks and other lenders, and getting the best deal available. All titles in Barron's Business Keys series are written with a minimum of financial jargon and are directed at ordinary consumers and nonprofessionals in the business world.

Book Description
Sams Teach Yourself e-Real Estate Today is an easy and efficient way to access the vast amount of real estate information available on the Internet. This book not only teaches you how to find and buy a home online, it also guides you through the largely unorganized, confusing and bewildering mortgage marketplace. Four major sections divide the book into logical portions of the topic. Part I focuses on the process of buying a home. Part II addresses the selling of a home. Part III teaches you how to finance a home online. Finally, Part IV provides information that is specific to real estate investors.
Customer Reviews:
Great reference to go along with internet surfing.......2000-12-27
This is a great book with many very up to date links that can compliment your real estate purchasing along with using the internet.
He goes through which search engines are best to get to a very specific target as well as many online mortgage sites; bank sites. He goes into all aspects of buying "distressed property" which is something that we specialize in, so we found this a very good book.
Teach yourself how not to waste money on worthless books........2000-03-24
Not only did I waste money on this worthless book, I wasted a fortune on trying to sell my home using the advise of this guy. By the time I'm done, what little profit I made will surely go to my attorney to keep the buyers of my home off my back.
Teach yourself all about real estate on the Internet.......2000-03-13
Robert Bruss, a Bay Area lawyer and real estate broker, has written a review of this book that appeared 3/11/2000 in the San Jose Mercury News. Excerpts of his review follow:
...one of those rare real estate books that cannot be recommended to highly. Before you buy, sell, finance, auction or invest in real estate, check out the Web sites evaluated by this book. Readers who are not internet savy will quickly feel at home with this book with emphasis on Web site locations and attributes, not computer technicalities. Every homewoner, buyer, real estate investor and agent should have a copy of this book on their desks for easy reference, right next to their computers. That's where I keep mine. On a scale of 1 to 10, this superb book rates an off the chart 14, the highest rating I've ever given to a real estate book.
