Probably the best product available. I bought the book plus CD. The book is very detailed and covers most topics you would want to know about in case you pass on. I feel I have a good understanding of the process. Estate planning is somewhat complex and takes time. You must read the book before plugging in the software so you will understand the major decisions you must make.

This package will crank out straight forward, no nonsense wills and related paperwork that is valid and binding. You do not need a lawyer. However if you have anything complicated or involves many conditions, you better pay the lawyers fees.

It's OK but won't work on Mac.......2007-09-12

I have not used all the pieces of this and it has some limitations but it is a cheap way to get a will I guess. I am mostly annoyed that they don't make it for Mac which makes it a bigger hassle for me since I am a Mac user.

My wife and I bought this product before we went on an out of the country vacation and left our toddler with relatives. We wanted to have the peace of mind that our intentions were documented and known. Our situation is not complex so we found the program and documentation to be very accommodating.
I would guess that someone who had a great deal of acquired wealth and assests, or a complex family system may want to invest in an attorney's assistance.

Easy to use product........2007-08-23

WillMaker was simple to use, and didn't take much time at all. It is a great way to get your affairs in order. It's not easy to think about death, but I think it is important, so those who survive you don't have as many difficult issues around one's death.

This program also has some other useful legal programs such as childcare contracts.

Lots of Reading but Well Worth It.......2007-08-08

I didn't want to go to a lawyer and spend lots of $ on the very little money I have. The software comes with a very detailed book and explains everything very well. I did actually write my will that day and living will as well.I just have to get it signed by witnesses and notarized. I didn't give it a perfect 5 b/c there is no such thing as perfect. That's just my own opinion. Well worth the money and the software goes through the will process step by step.

This book contains quite a bit of good information but only after you wade through about 90 pages of sales pitch for living trusts. When you finally get to the part of the book containing actual information about trusts it is disorganized and repetitive to the extreme. Much of the book appears to be excerpts from trust seminars given by the author which are strung end to end to bulk out the book. A good rewrite and editing would make this a more readable, concise and useful book.

It is an excellent guide book IF you have a Living Trust. There are a couple other books that Mr. Abts wrote that precede this one which are all very good and information everyone should know about, if you do not want to go through the expense of lawyers and probate. I am very glad that we had our's drawn up back in 1992. My husband passed in 2001, and this has been a great help to me, along with the help and support of an excellent Trust and Financial Advisor. The Living Trust is valid in every state in the Union.

Henry Abts is the foremost authority on the workings of a Living Trust in the nation. After researching more I learned that Henry was basically the pioneer of hte living trust industry and has collected the best legal minds to help him in his handling of this important subject.
This book is the best and most easily understood reference in print today. Henry has a special and unique talent of taking a complex and difficult subject and then break it down so that it is both understandable and interesting.
After reading this book twice, I did a lot more research and everything else I learned was already addressed by Henry. He also has another book on settling the Living Trust that helped me greatly. This is my way of saying thanks to a great author and educator. You will not be disappointed in this book.

Best resource on the subject.......2007-08-16

In order to help my parents with their trust, I had checked out about a dozen books on the subject from the library. I found Denis Clifford's to be the easiest to follow and easiest to read on a fairly complex subject. I found the book (and his "Plan Your Estate" book) so informative I bought a set for myself.

This book offers lots of "real life" examples of different types of financial scenarios and the best options for setting up a trust that will protect the assets from excessive legal fees and/or estate taxes. It covers almost everything you need to know to either write your own trust or carefully check the details of your trust if prepared by a lawyer.

The CD included provides you with the language you need to write your own by filling in the blanks, as well as the step-by-step procedure to cover all the bases to be certain the trust meets all the legal & tax requirements for trusts.

This book is also apparently updated each year, as the tax and estate laws are frequently being revised. I highly recommend this book, and also highly recommend as a companion book that covers other aspects of financial planning, wills, etc., Dennis Clifford's Plan Your Estate.

I was so impressed I also bought copies of both books for my parents and my sister so we could all get our finances in order.

Another Great Book From NOLO .......2007-05-08

Nolo Press continues the tradition of providing step by step guidance through complex legal processes. Step by step demystification of the process.

Even if you are going to use an attorney this is a good read and you will save many times the cost of the book in having answered your own questions and by receiving a good introduction to the subject.

I am an attorney (shyreslaw.com) and I highly recommend this book for those who could use a simple trust and want to avoid probate. Even if you decide to hire an attorney, this book is invaluable because it offers great insight into trusts and avoiding the probate system.

Attorney Denis Clifford wrote this great do-it-yourself book which provides everyone a way to create their own simple living trust. A CD-ROM is also provided so you can easily input your information and print it out.

For a more complete estate plan, the book introduces the importance of pourover wills in case the trust fails to encompass all the property. You may want to peruse Mr. Clifford's Simple Will Book as well (another recommended buy).

This book was a god-send! I was skeptical at first because I have no legal backround and I thought that making my own living trust would be complicated at best, impossible at worst. But following a recommendation of a friend I decided to give do-it-yourself law a shot. Boy am I happy I did! I saved a fortune in legal fees and was able to get the job done just as well as if I'd had a lawyer coaching me every step of the way.
Make Your Own Living Trust was easy to use and very accessible. It even has all of the forms you'll need on an enclosed CD-ROM. Thanks to this book I was able to transfer assets such as stocks, real estate and jewelry to my trust, appoint someone to manage the property that I'm leaving my children, and keep control over it while I live. So don't be afraid to do it yourself, you'll save money and get your trust done the way you want it!

This is a great book on fine tuning your inner gut sense in life. Like Choquette says ... whales have sonar ... birds have radar ... and people have their sixth sense ... this book is very helpful for those trained out of their inner trusting whether by environment or early childhood experiences. Packed with real life stories to build your reservoir of trust in your own gut sense!

Sonia Choquette's 'The Psychic Pathway' was introduced to me in 1996. I read her work, had a total of five personal consultations with her 18 months apart, went to a few workshops in Chicago, and continued to follow her newer material when she began working with Hay House. This is probably one of the last of her great writings. Sadly, Choquette's woo-woo has gotten out of hand. The gift that brought her public recognition isn't what it used to be after this book was released. Now she is all about channeled guides and other far out theories ... no longer sounding like the self that got her where she is today. Sure a writer adapts but Trust Your Vibes is a fantastic last look at the real Sonia before her soul teaching turned into more of keeping up her game than being of service. This happened to other great psychics .... the fame and fortune they craved resulted in loss of accuracy in the end. Get this book and savor the final authenticity of Sonia before she went woo-woo overload and claimed past lives as a rock star on Saturn. I kid you not she said this on her radio show so the evidence is out there. What finally had me realize she had completed her role as a guide in my life was her endorsement of Archangel Chamuel ... which as a Catholic ... exceeded my spiritual comfort zone. For the record, there are only 7 archangels and none of them is Chamuel.

Final Thoughts on Sonia as a spiritual teacher which applies to all spirit-based teachers, and since Sonia seems to protray herself as a Christian/Catholic-Orthodox I'll use from her religious tradition:

Down to Earth.......2006-11-19

This book, is for the beginner, just starting to ponder various realities and possibilities, as well as for the advanced and seasoned practitioner of spiritual enlightenment. I love sonia, she is down to earth, makes clear sense of intuition and how we can use it to attain a greater enlightened self awareness. Some of the things in her books, might seem silly, until you put them into practice. I have her other book, Ask your Guides. In one of the books, she talks about "runners." Runners are spirits that go ahead of you to clear the way, if we only ask them to. Example, please get me a parking spot.(to the runners, we ask).. at first, I thought, o.k. this is a little nutty...guess what, have been doing this now for about a month, the runners are there, people, even when it looks like I will not find a spot when I need one, at the last minute someone clears out, or there is "one" spot left...usually only "one." It is quite amazing when we "ask."

Making the mystical attainable and practical .......2006-09-25

Wow! I loved this book.

It is an easy read and doesn't get caught up the New Age mumbo jumbo that characterizes so many books of this kind. I honestly believe that any person could pick the book up and read it.

One doesn't have to buy into anything Sonia Choquette says, and she alone doesn't claim to have the answers, but so much of what she says makes sense, and I experienced many "Ah ha" moments as I went through this reader-friendly book.

Trust Your Vibes offers snippers of information and suggestions that can be of use in everyday life, even for those people who choose not to believe in the author's words. However, she makes a compelling case.

More than talking about being aware of the messages of our sixth sense, the book also encourages one to live from the heart, which, to me, is a beautiful message, and it offers practical, easy ways of making this one's way of life.

The message and the methods are very positive without being unobtainable.

I have taken a look around her website and listened to some of the things she has to say while there, and she appeals to me as someone with sixth-sensory skills that the average Joe can relate to.

I would say "trust you vibes", those feelings we get but can't explain. They invariably prove accurate, and it is only when we question them, mulling them over in our minds, that they prove "wrong". But by that stage, they are no longer our vibes!

An interesting book, with a lovely message, I highly recommend it.

This is my first Max Lucado book and I loved it! It took me a while to read it because I don't read that often but something made me keep coming back to try and finish it. He made everything so simple and easy to understand. The real life examples were great! I would recommend it to anyone!

A Book I Can't Finish.......2004-03-24

I have been reading this book for a while, but I cannot finish it because I keep starting over from the beginning. Every chapter makes me feel great about God's love for us. It is my first Max Lucado book, but not my last. I recommend for everyone especially new Christians it brings Jesus to our neighborhood.

Another step closer.......2007-09-04

This manuscript fell so much in line with some of my recent reviews.
How to gain a deeper appreciation of GOD in our daily walk, seeing GOD's direction in our decisions after we pray for "something" and RE-constructing a few sidesteps in the way we approach lifes valleys were just a few of Luck's objectives in this book.
Luck laid out an aggressive yet, thought provoking groundwork for us to follow as CHRISTian men each day.

Many of his instructions add enough weight to our conscience after we put the book down, to DRIVE us to pick it back up & go over it AGAIN the next day.

"RISK" should greatly inspire the reader; it certainly inspired me.

A men's pastor at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, and founder of Every Man Ministries, author Kenny Luck finds potent stories of men who have faced down their fears, defeated their foes, and risen to the challenge in myriad circumstances. Men will love this book, simply because Luck writes with a pulse on what matters to men most and shows them how to achieve their hearts' desires. Written at times in an offhandedly disarming way, Luck will draw in men from a diverse readership as he tells intriguing and beguiling stories of real men who've made mistakes, taken a beating, and then emerged stronger for the struggle.

As his title infers, life is a risk. So whether a man wants to engage or not in the hardships found at the workplace, in the home, or within his own heart, he will be forced to make a decision. Life doesn't allow anyone an "opt out" clause. Luck challenges men of faith to pour all they have (and want for the future) into Christ's strong, faithful and able hands. By not making choices that honor God on a moment-by-moment basis, Luck tells readers that they are choosing --- and their decisions are making an eternal impact for either good or evil. With their absence or presence, men ultimately decide what type of impact their individual lives will have on their spheres of influence --- no lightweight matter here.

According to Luck's definition of "risk," becoming a masculine, courageous man of God involves four key components. Foundationally, men must have an accurate picture of who God is: "...when our concept of Him is diminished, so is courage for Him." Next, men need to find their identity in Christ, as a son of God; only then are they willing to step out of comfort zones and be different, becoming the unique person God can use. Third, faithful men will sacrifice for Christ on the deepest personal and professional levels, understanding the privilege of this cost. Finally, Luck says that God's men will begin visionary kingdom-building for God, not themselves.

Each chapter discusses a similarly vital element of creating a life that God uses effectively. Luck opens every section with poignant stories followed by biblical entreaties to obey and honor God's commands. Some of the hot topics Luck forges through with admirable skill and enthusiasm are: becoming vulnerable enough to expose personal (private) Achilles' heels, developing a loyalty that is tenacious and persevering, using strength and energy for pursuing God with passion, and allowing God to recast a fresh vision for the future that includes professional and personal goals.

Young men and old, those new to the faith as well as seasoned followers, will find substantive resource and wise counsel. Luck's transparency and his willingness to treat subjects with a bold candor will be especially appealing to men who are seeking real answers to life's difficult dilemmas.

Here is one with real meat. So many books are 95% fluff and 5% content. Here is one with a nugget on every page, including real-life advice for anyone who is working their way through a relationship challenge. Yes!

Good Book.......2007-06-09

I have read through or at least attempted to read through a number of books, mostly Christian books for spiritual growth. I feel closer to God when I devote my time to knowing his ways and reading helpful and inspiring Christian books that show us/teach us how to live a life that is pleasing to him. I have read this book twice and each time I discover more things. I have donated many books to libraries or sold them but this book deserves to be kept in my library collection. Even if certain trials or principles do not apply to my current life, it is great to have as a reference and to share with others who are going through trials listed in this book.

Helpful or not? Depends.......2007-05-20

I can understand why the previous reviewers shared very diverse opinion of the book. The supporters focused on how well the authors made use of their professional knowledge and writting skill to discuss eight godly principles on solving twelve key areas of life's problem. The opposers primarily complained that it's too shallow and did not help at all. IMHO, this book did point to the direction of help or even salvation, which is God. Those who know God well and just need a little advice or hint will find the book useful. However, it is not the solution itself and so those who want a shortcut and without a solid faith are disappointed for sure. Nevertheless, as a believer in Christ and a book lover, I am obliged to comment that it is a relatively good book of its kind. Recommended!

This book began my healing from abuse.......2006-06-30

I was in an emotionally abusive relationship but didn't know it. And as a man, it made it harder for me because men aren't very likely to be seen as victims of abuse. So I was confused, disoriented to the max, and didn't have a clue about who to turn to or what to do. And even though I am a devout Christian, just my belief in God was not enough by itself to show me what I could not see in front of me. I also believe that God designed us so that we need to be in relationship with each other, helping each other and that He does a bulk of His work through others.

So one day I was scanning the radio dial for help and came across Dr. Townsend's radio counseling show. Then I heard them mention their book, "What To Do When You Don't Know What To Do" That's the ONLY thing that I knew to do, so I called up and ordered it.

It's simple, maybe simplistic, yes. It asks you to rely on God, yes. But for me, at that moment, all I could grasp was something simple. And if for some reason you're opposed to God or relying on Him (but why would you???), then you could still glean the messages from it which are still valid on practical levels.

The part of the book that when I got to, threw a lifeline to me was the part that said, "If you don't know what to do, get more information". A light bulb went off and I knew that a great part of my paralysis to any movement forward to healing was because I just plain didn't know anything about what I was feeling. That little step was just the key and then I began researching like crazy on the internet and slowly, albeit reluctantly, I began to understand what my condition was and how it had been created. Of course, that led to what to do about it, also.

But truly, sometimes - maybe often - we just don't have a clue about ourselves, our situation, others, or what we're feeling or experiencing. This book is for those times. At those times we need a simplistic approach - a very basic approach. That's why this book was a life saver to me and probably to many others. And again, if you've got a thing against God, or even having God in your life, then why even write a review?

This book is titled very correctly. It's not for those like the reviewers below who have an idea about what they think they need and how that should look and sound. It's for those of us who truly are at a loss as to where to even begin. This was a miraculous book in a simple, little book's clothing.

Life changing!.......2006-06-04

I was saddened to see a few negative reviews of this book. One or two were so negative it was obvious the reviewers still hadn't found any help or healing. I for one found this book to be a lifesaver during a crisis in my life. I had been dealing (not well) with feelings of hopelessness and great personal dissapointments and even considering divorce when I discovered this book. Yes, it is a Christian book - and personal faith in God is the cornerstone of what is presented here. But truth is truth, and I can attest only to the fact that the truth presented here changed my life and gave me hope when I had none. It also explained so much of what I was experiencing and gave me logical steps to follow to become healthy. I am very grateful to both of these authors and now own several of their books. I cannot recommend this book enough.

Best book on the subject I've ever read.......2007-08-15

Best book I've read on "why bad things happen". I really appreciated the fact that Mr. Bridges used scripture to back up what he had to say, and not his "feelings" or "experiences". Also, unlike most writers on this subject, he didn't try to explain God. Guess what? If we could EXPLAIN Him, He'd be one of US! The author doesn't minimize God, but challenges us to really rest in WHO HE IS.

Trust God.......2007-01-04

This book is wonderful and is essential reading for anyone, not only those going through hard times, but also those with questions as to how to let go of our anxieties and worries. Everything Bridges says he back up with the Bible, and he does not skip around the difficult questions, but addresses them. This book was exactly what I hoped for and will be re-read many times I am sure.

The only solid ground.......2006-04-20

This book is gold. I read it about 10 years ago as I went through a hard time personally. At the time, I was struggling to come to grips with God's sovereignty. Bridges helped me to see that God's sovereignty is not some raw, unguided power. It is directed by God's boundless wisdom and endless love.

As a Christian pastor, I've read lots of books. But this one is right up the top of the stack. The truths here are truths to be cherished and loved. And so is the God of whom they speak. Here is solid ground indeed.

This is no piece of dead orthodoxy written in a cloister. Rather, it is a profound expression of a Godward and biblical faith that can be lived and loved in spite of life's harsh knocks.

So what are you waiting for? Buy this book! Read it! Pray through it! Grow! And then when you're done here, read another good book! I dunno ... maybe a solid book on prayer like Don Carson's "Call to Spiritual Reformation" or Richard Pratt's "Pray with Your Eyes Open."

Help when the going is tough.......2006-03-27

Even Christans can become dicouraged, and Jerry Bridges paints a series of pictures with which any person who has doubted the love of God during a crisis can identify. His explanation of the sovereignty of God cannot fail to encourage those who are in the depths of despair over the loss of a loved one, who are in the midst of a serious illness or who have been disappointed by the actions of others. Unlike many other books in a similiar vein, Mr Bridges backs up his points with scripture - the final authority for a Christian.

Remember The Attributes of God.......2006-03-23

What a classic. This book was required reading for a Biblical Counseling class at Southern Seminary. It has forever changed the way I view my faith. When we meditate on God's omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence, we cannot help but trust Him! If we truly believe He only purposes good for us, (Romans 8:28-29), then we will trust Him in all we go through!

What a blessing this book has been.
