Book Description
This is the explosive true story of the only man ever to infiltrate the Hells Angels organization as an FBI informant, uncovering the truth about the notorious biker gang's netherworld of evil, lust, and violence.
A chilling crime story that strips away the Hell's Angels's image to reveal a powerful and deadly organized crime syndicate.
The author's acceptance into the highest ranks of the gang led to an unprecedented FBI sting operation and 42 arrests.

nt good.......2007-08-25
i bought this book a few years ago and began reading it as soon as i got home. i got eally bored with it, really fast. i stopped reading it about half-way through, and have not picked it back up since.
this guy became an informant long before he could have done anything for the HA that you would find interesting to read about.
dont buy.
Ridiculously emotional and biased diatribe.......2007-07-09
This, uhh, author has some serious emotional issues. This is an example of how this, umm, author might relate the experience of walking into a convenience store and briefly making eye contact with a scruffy-looking person exiting the store.
"His cold, brown eyes bore into mine, daring me to answer his challenge... I knew my life was in danger, as I watched him swagger through the door, reeking of beer, sweat, and the stench of the violence I knew he was capable of." While the scruffy guy exiting the store is wondering, "Why is this guy staring at me?"
OK- I am a woman, and I've worked with felons, some of whom were OMG (outlaw motorcycle gang) members, and some of them flirted with me and/or threatened me frequently. However, I cannot imagine ever reaching the emotional state that apparently affects this, uh, author and his "writing". Unless he wrote this book in 48 hours, immediately after being released from being held hostage by Hells Angels who hogtied and tortured him over a period of 612 days, there is no excuse for this emotionally wrought, hand-wringing diatribe. Anyone, with any passing knowledge of this subject material will find this endless editorial absurd. Yes, some bikers in OMGs can be very dangerous, break laws, threaten and murder people, ad infinitum. But- anyone who writes a book about this material, attempting to present information about OMG culture, law enforcement investigations, and other pertinant data needs to retain some semblence of objectivity. This author's emotional and biased writing style makes the reader struggle through endless sermons to get to the data. And data that is presented in such an extrordinarily emotionally biased manner, is of questionable value to any intelligent reader.
Author's insane prejudice.......2007-07-02
It's very hard to get a factual or non-biased read from any of this author's books. Even his commentary on TV is awful. I found it very hard to not be disgusted by his diction.
A little monotonous - but comprehensive.......2007-03-15
It's tough to get through this book, not just for its marginal writing, but also because the over-the-top detail seems misplaced. In the middle of what I *think* is a chronological story, why do I need to know that the Rochester chapter president reported at some East Coast Officers Meeting that one of their members had a drug bust and got 30 days?
As I was reading it I was surprised at what I was reading, not because anything there was shocking (I have read just about every book on this subject), but because I was having a hard time understanding the point!
As to Tait being a rat, and that for this reason we should not read this book, normally I would dismiss that as somewhat silly reasoning. But unlike others that have been inside an OMG and written about it, Tait really WAS a rat, in that he was just an egomaniac wannabe that turned on his brothers. At least George Wethern ("A Wayward Angel") was an upright HAMC member before situations created mostly by his MC brothers put him into a corner. Tait has no excuse at all.
Another so-called "rat" (against Mongols) was Billy Queen ("Under and Alone"), but he was in law enforcement. Same with Jay Dobyns ("Angels of Death"). Those guys are playing their game the same way those on the other side play theirs.
As for Tait, I guess I like to curb crime too, but Tait set a few too many people up for my taste. I have a bit of a hard time swallowing Lavigne's hero worship of this character. Bottom line - the book is quite complete, but be prepared for it to leave a bad taste in your mouth.
If you are into this stuff, I do suggest "Under and Alone" (William Queen), "Hells Angels" (Hunter S. Thompson) and "Hells Angel" (Sonny Barger). Those books are educational while still being balanced and fun to read.
Poor Writing, Boring Story, Lacks Focus.......2007-01-07
It's a shame that Lavigne's book lacks continuity and focus. He jumps from one place to another, and from one topic to another without a good transition. There are too many supporting characters in the book and it's difficult for me to keep track. His prejudice shows through the story, and unlike T.J. English, he can't be neutral or impartial.
I say it's a shame because this is a serious subject. The Hell's Angels are a recurring problem for law enforcement in the USA, Canada, and Europe, and there have been many books on biker gangs as organized crime. This is also a book about a top FBI informant, and anyone who read "Black Mass" or "The Westies" knows that informants/snitches are a major source of convictions. Unfortunately the book lacks a central purpose. Was Tait trying to gather information on drugs, guns, explosives, or all three? What did the chapter in Kentucky have to do with the story? Other than one murder, it occupies to much space. The different crimes for which the members were convicted should be broken into some sort of order.
If the events occured exactly as written, I doubt the informant could've kept track of his own activities. I hope he kept his log in alphabetical order.
On another note, I think "Anthony the Informer" messed up his life. His army service wasn't boring by any means, and it could have been his crowning achievement. But he screwed up because he was so tough that he couldn't take orders. He could have been a top lawman like Bernard Kerik, but going AWOL doesn't help a soldier's career.

Book Description
An intriguing look at an Internet pioneer and global powerhouse
Reaching sixty percent of all Net users, Yahoo! is one of the most popular Internet portals and one of the most successful companies in the world today. Inside Yahoo! takes readers on a fascinating journey through the thoughts and motivations behind the company. Revealing stories of on-again, off-again management, the race for innovation, and the constant focus on survival, this book will engage readers on many different levels. With access to Yahoo's top executives, author Karen Angel describes the complementary, but different styles that have made Yahoo! one of the few surviving business models in the struggling Internet sector. An informed and astute narrative traces the company's transformation from a twenty-something brainstorm to a sophisticated community to a onetime Wall Street darling that managed to ride-out the recent market shakeout. Along the way, readers will follow in the steps and missteps of this unique company and see how it keeps reinventing itself to keep ahead of a changing marketplace.
Customer Reviews:
Humorous and Informative.......2006-11-19
I like the style of the author, the reading is fun and humorous but it's full of information on how the Yahoo started and where it is heading now. I like the concept of Yang and Filo, giving to community first before making a profit. The book is definitely a keep for files and future example when building a community websites which i am now.

Name says it all.......2006-01-31
I used this book as a starting block for a thesis I am working on. The information within the book provide insight of managements ideas and fundamentals. By no means should this book be used as a guide for the Yahoo's due to the flux of the Internet. Instead it a guide to the historical reference on what makes the company tick.
After reading/studying the book, the founders principles still exist at Yahoo today... Focus on creating a social-engineering product (Yang) and consumer interface to the Web (Filo). Understanding this, recent moves by Yahoo make more since (e.g. acquisition of fliker and role out of 360.)
Furthermore, if you want to read about one of the four leaders in the Internet bubble, this is a very good book. It does a good job showing how the company ran a race against the other information providers at the time, Lycos and Excite. Finally, the author did a good job illustrating how company survived the busting of the bubble. If you have the time, and are interested in the company, it ought to be money well spent.
Interesting history, maybe a bit dusty........2005-11-12
This book is basically the history of the 500 lb gorilla of the dot-com debacle. It follows Yahoo! from its birth in a Stanford trailer up through the pits of despair in late 2001.
I personally learned quite a bit about the forces that shaped this "walking contradiction" of a company. For me (as a geek) the most interesting part was the history of what technologies and services have been rolled into the Yahoo! brand, including early plays into VoIP as far back as 1998 and Yahoo!'s short fling with adult content.
Lost a star for the (I felt) boring profusion of financial figures every few pages. Yes, the difference between GAAP and pro-forma reporting blah blah and stock rating by Bleedle and Blarney was changed fom zzzzz.... Some of this pure finance speak is obviously necessary to the story, since a lot of the action pivots on economic calamity. It just seemed that the book occasionally became the history of YHOO the stock instead of Yahoo! the company.
For "ancient history" (in Internet time) the book is a great resource. I'll still need something to fill in the gap between the ending of this book (the expectation at end of 2001 that Yahoo! would die, become irrelevant, or get acquired) through modern times. But taken for what it is, it's a handy reference.
Very Informative but lacks analysis.......2003-01-05
The author has used her sources effectively to delineate the Intenet boom and its subsequent fall, by describing Yahoo's growth from a Stanford trailer into a media company. She has captured the frenzy of the late 90's and takes the reader through the numerous accquisitions and investments in Silicon Valley. At the same time the book is an overkill with the excessive information provided and at times reads like an encyclopaedia with figures thrown in liberally. The fact that Yahoo hasn't cooperated with the author is evident in several places. Overall its a good read
A competent job, but lacks real insight.......2002-11-25
Like many other writers about technology companies, Karen Angel has simply read a lot of newspaper and magazine articles about the company, interviewed some knowledgeable outsiders (key insiders did not cooperate with her) and organized the resulting material in chronological sequence. If, like I, you are interested in learning the basic facts about Yahoo!, this book will suffice, but don't expect anything in the way of new revelations or searching analysis.
What comes across is a group of relatively bright young computer nerds who happened to be in the right place at the right time, decided that they were the Christ, and imploded from their own greed and hubris, professing all the while their personal integrity. Urrrppp!
Book Description
Arguably no other author has inspired more musicians than has Howard Phillips Lovecraft. Here, for the first time, is a book documenting the music inspired by the works of this literary genius, with insights provided by the artists. The book features a foreword by H. P. Lovecraft expert S. T. Joshi and cover artwork by Joseph Vargo.
Customer Reviews:
Excellent for Lovecraft or music lovers alike.......2006-10-28
The Strange Sound of Cthulhu starts with an introduction to Lovecraft's life. This provides good background for readers who are there for the musical aspect and unfamiliar with his writing. It is strait-forward, giving just the information needed to understand how he could still have an impact on music today, almost seventy years after his death.
The rest of the book is broken down into the musical genres he inspired. From psychedelic rock to country, groups little heard of all the way to big names, such as Black Sabbath and Metallica, have attributed some of their inspiration to Lovecraft.
Hill analyzes the songs--and even group names--that have roots in the literature of Lovecraft. The book compares lyrics with Lovecraft prose, and touches on music rumored to have Lovecraft ties. He gives details of each song, and in many cases, interviews with the artists behind the music. They discuss how their music ties in with Lovecraft, how they were introduced to his writing, and even their favorite Lovecraft tale.
Though the idea of seeing the music described in words may sound dull to some, Joshi was correct in the forward when he said, "Gary has that rarest of skills among music critics: the ability to describe a song, whether vocal or instrumental, in such a way that readers seem to hear it running through their heads."
Though Hill claims that the book is in no way exhaustive on the subject, it is as close to being exhaustive as it can get. It is designed to snare the readers that are there for the music to start reading Lovecraft, and the readers there for Lovecraft to look out for the music. I found myself getting out my old music to listen for what Hill describes.

Liked it, I lived it..........2005-10-28
This is a handy book for women who might be interested in becoming motorcyclists. If you're curious about riding or want to buy a bike you can find some helpful hints in addition to riding tips for beginners-- you can also see if your curiousity gels with others'. I agree though that the book is in need of editing as there are mistakes with grammar and syntax (for edition II get a good line editor). However, if you can overlook a few awkward phrases and misspellings this book can be quite valuable to the aspiring cyclist.
Where was the Editor?.......2003-06-10
If you like reading with a red correction pencil in hand, this is the book for you. Getting through even one chapter is a chore because the reader must navigate through a minefield of botched syntax, misspellings, garbled grammer, unfinished sentences and plain ol' bad writing. If there's an award for the worst writing and editing, this book's a shoe-in! I felt as though the writer rushed to get enough pages typed for a book and didn't bother to even do a cursory check of her work.
The content is not much better. Skip this book.
Good reading from Connecticut.......2002-08-27
I thought the book was a wonderful read and it contained some great information on riding as well as the other ladies stories that were included in it. I thought the author included all a lady needs to know about riding when first starting out. I loved it and look forward to reading the next one out.
Thumbs up.......2002-08-25
I really loved this book and the information given for ladies who ride has been so useful to me as a new rider such as how to ride in the rain, and how a woman can check out motorcycles before buying one. I'm looking forward to reading Miss Dicks's next book, The Devil's Playground published by Prometheus Books due out this fall. I've already read, They're Going TO Kill My Son and Death Row by this author.
Fascinating Inside Look at Motorcycling.......2002-08-23
This is a fascinating book about women who ride motorcycles, why they do, and what they think about it, but it is also an interesting look at motorcycling generally. I enjoyed the many individual accounts throughout the book by riders who contributed their own stories about how they were introduced to motorcycling, "first ride stories," their enjoyment of the sport, "most embarrassing moments," and inspirational stories. I was also impressed with the author's emphasis on safety, both with respect to driving skill and also with respect to being careful about dangerous people and situations one can encounter on the road. There are some real dangers to be aware of, and this book is honest about that, and contains good advice about how to avoid them. The book also contains a wealth of information on how to keep your bike in shape mechanically, the best kind of riding gear to wear, tips on touring, and even how to choose a motorcycle if you are thinking of becoming a rider. And maybe best of all, this book conveys the real sense of adventure and of belonging to a unique group, that goes along with being involved in motorcycling. Even though the focus is on women motorcyclists, I can vouch for the fact that this is a book that men will enjoy too if they have any interest in the fun and freedom of riding a motorcycle.
Customer Reviews:
An excellent Assessment that should be a primer for Rabbis.......2007-04-17
When I lived in New York, I learned from Rabbi Angel during his Rambam classes at the Spanish Portuguese synagogue in New York and I will say that I truly respect his perspective in both class and in this book. Choosing to Be Jewish by Rabbi Marc Angel takes one through the historical and legal issues that revolve around the conversion process in Judaism. This book also covers the Orthodox format of such and the issues concerning conversions through other methods.
Yet, most important this is a person book that not only laments the problems that exist in some areas of how it is carried out today but it also covers the reliability of the process in the Orthodox community. Rabbi Angel provides stories of conversations that were successful due to a balanced approach to the process as well as the stories of the people who either returned to a lively and vibrant Judaism because of the process or who became observant Jews due to the process. He also does not bow to any pressure to assume that their is a problem in the tenants of Orthodox conversions, but Rabbi Angel deals with the reasons that a fresh look at how potential Geirim (Converts) should be handled.
As has been mentioned before this book is not meant to be a strict 1, 2, 3 this is how you convert, it is meant to help both those who convert and those who would convert them understand the Orthodox perspective, and some of the problems that exist with some of situations. So even though it is not a 1, 2, 3 how to it can help a potential convert understand the issues thus helping avoid shame or major problems. The book also gives pieces written by people who have completed the conversion process to Judaism, and their personal stories. These stories include people who found out that they had Jewish ancestry as well as people who converted for the sake of living as a Jew dedicated to God and the Torah.
I think anyone who studying to become a Rabbi should have this book as required reading. I also believe it should be required reading for anyone wanting to convert to Judaism.
A much-needed view of conversion.......2006-10-31
Rabbi Angel addresses problems in the current system of conversion. The Talmud says that rabbis should push a convert away with the weaker left hand and draw them nearer with the stronger right hand, but nowadays many rabbis are apparently left-handed! Many converts perceive much more pushing away than being drawn near.
This book is not a "how to" guide for converts as much as a discussion of Rabbi Angel's philosophy of conversion for Orthodox rabbis and interested laiety. This is the second modern critique of the conversion system; the first was published by a left-wing Orthodox organization and could therefore have no effect. By contrast, Rabbi Angel is a true moderate, respected across the entire political spectrum, and his book could make a difference.
A Much Needed Book.......2006-10-30
This is a book that is much needed today. The non-Orthodox movements of Judaism publish tons of material on conversion or for their converts. Those who desire to convert via the Orthodox route have a much smaller selection of resources which are available to them.
Rabbi Angel discusses conversion not only as a halachaic recipe; but as a process that involves many aspects -- most importantly, a non-Jew that has an incredible pull to become Jewish. Well clearly stating that Judaism does not seek out converts, Rabbi Angel also makes it clear that Orthodox rabbis should not completely shut them out either; which can cause the situation of them turning to non-Orthodox (hence non-halachaic) congregations for conversions. This only fuels the problem of having "Jewish identifying gentiles" caught up in this hopeless limbo status in Judaism (and for women, their children as well).
Rabbi Angel also does not skirt around the issue of the desire to convert after getting romantically involved with a Jew; a gray area that is a reality in modern Jewish life. A very helpful feature of this book are all of the personal essays from people who underwent an Orthodox conversion; many which have the person in a relationship with a Jew. These stories can give a convert-to-be a lot of encouragement and strength that they otherwise would not be able to get.
As much as I like this book, especially for presenting the crucial topics regarding Orthodox conversion, I could not give it 5 stars because in my experience (I've been pursuing Orthodox conversion for around 2 years), most Rabbis do not really share his attitude towards conversion. So while it's nice to read about how he handles conversion, there are no suggestions or help for the general reader of this book who may be faced with a more difficult* Rabbi and Beis Din (* - "difficult" meaning non-encouraging, or helpful. I am not implying at all the Rabbi Angel oversees conversions that are not up to the strictest halachaic standards, chas v'shalom). It is sorely lacking on practicalities. So basically, this book stands in as a "nice, bound companion"; and collection of very encouraging words and stories. But it provides no resources, no real suggestions to the reader as to how to make those "first steps", and no book list (which you REALLY surprised me...considering the subject matter, and many readers will just be starting their journey into Judaism). It seems that this book really should be paired together with "Becoming a Jew" by Maurice Lamm; and older book, but a book which is much more complete with practical suggestions.
Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who has even pondered converting to Orthodox Judaism. It is no-nonsense and straightforward. It answers a lot of questions that many converts-to-be stuggle to find the answers to.
A history of conversion and community relationships.......2006-03-18
Every year thousands around the world convert to Judaism: Orthodox rabbi Marc Angel makes the case for conversion and discusses Jewish laws relating to it in CHOOSING TO BE JEWISH: THE ORTHODOX ROAD TO CONVERSION. Chapters discuss both the history of conversion and its halakhic community relationships, presenting Orthodoxy approaches to conversion which is designed to help maintain Jewish community unity.
Book Description
Ride shotgun with Kent Nerburn on a remarkable journey that uncovers the myths and dreams of America's West Coast. Fearing that his passion for life was dimming and worried that his family needed to escape the harsher realities of Minnesota life, Nerburn set out from the stark landscape of a northern winter to drive down the coastal roads of Washington, Oregon, and California. Road Angels brings us face-to-face with unexpected places and extraordinary people -- and in the end we learn what it means to find home.
Customer Reviews:
A parting glass.......2005-08-06
This was my first introduction to Kent Nerburn and I was fascinated by this fellow Minnesotan who calls himself a guerilla theologian. Unlike some of Nerburn's work, this is a direct narrative. Yet it touches on profound issues for those of us who grew up in the 'Fifties and came of age in the 'Sixties. The paradox is that one must leave home to find Home, and this can only be found within the depths of one's soul. Nerburn's account of his California quest makes this point in a good story well told.
A One Sitting Read!.......2002-01-01
A great read -- one of those one sitting books.
Nerburn lives in Minnesota but in mid-life gets a hankering to re-explore the west coast he remembers from his college years.
Some similarities to "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance".
Makes me want to read some of the other things he's written.
A Poetic, Gripping Journey.......2001-11-02
Kent Nerburn's latest book is not only a road trip but a mind trip. It was a genuine pleasure to join Kent on his trek of re-discovery, and such are his descriptive and narrative talents, that the reader feels like a traveling companion -- as if Kent were telling you the story while you rode along in his car, or hoofed a trail beside him. His insights into American culture, human nature, and spirituality are keen and rewarding. This is a well-crafted book by an author who knows readers.
hard to figure.......2001-09-02
I read this book twice. It is either very confused or very brilliant. On the second reading I decided it was brilliant. This is a very penetrating analysis of some very big issues about what it means to be an American. Very poetic, too. Elusive and hard to categorize. Kind of travel, kind of cultural criticism. Weird religious overtones. This is a good writer, maybe a great one.
very insightful and beautifully written.......2001-08-28
I just heard this author read in Ashland, Oregon. I did not know of him but his intelligence intrigued me so I bought the book. I think anyone who has ever relocated or contemplated a change in life should read this book. It is not only a wonderful read but a very profound examination of home and place. I will definitely recommend it to my most discriminating friends.
Book Description
Cardiac resynchronization therapy is a new therapy for advanced heart failure patients. This therapy has been shown to improve quality of life, exercise capacity, NYHA classification, and even reverse the detrimental reverse remodeling that occurs in advanced heart failure - in patients already receiving optimal pharmacological therapy. The typical patient has NYHA III/IV HF symptoms, a QRS 120 ms, LVEDD 55 mm, without any indication required for pacing. The therapy is available in an ICD device, too. CRT has been shown to be effective in patients with both ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathy. The implant procedure is part of a learning curve. Many physicians who already perform electrophysiology procedures, or PPM, or ICD implants are the ideal implanter - but are surprised at the challenges this implant presents. This book will help flatten the learning curve for new physician implanting, and will provide a guide' for those who have already started implanting. The success rate is about 90% - so after 10 years of application, we have found that there are still patients who do not get access to this great therapy because of the complexity of the patient's anatomy, or physician skills. The book is written by three authors with a great deal of experience culminating in over 3000 cases between them. This book is intended for cardiologists who currently implant either or both pacemakers and cardioverter defibrillators with cardiac resynchronization therapy (also called bi-ventricular pacing), or plan to implant in the future. This book will be extremely useful for the new cardiologist in training who is learning to implant devices.

Book Description
The powerful story of Micah Sinclair's journey from an outlaw with bitterness to a man who lets gentleness rule and win his soul. Guided by a father and a godly young woman, how could he spurn his new life? The sequel to Texas Angel.
Customer Reviews:
Great Sequel.......2001-12-16
This was A wonderful sequel to Texas Road.Micha Sinclair played a man still furious at his father for Killing his mother. But he found a way to love again. There were many times I grew so angry at him.I mean he almost through the best thing in his life away because she was mexican. Silly boy. But all in all it was a great book.I think I liked Texas Angel better. I also beleive that Texas angel and Heavens Road should be made into a movie. But no adding or removing from the book. And no specifics on Elise Job in Texas Angel. Thanks!
Top-Ten Novel.......2001-12-07
This book is awesome! I beleive that Texas Angel is better but
This book is to great to put down.I love the fact that Judith Pella didn't end the Fued between Micha and his father.Even though we feel sorry for Micha. We also hate his stubborness at times.Especially when almost throws away the best thing in his life because she's mexican but we still love the story. I personally believe that Texas Angel+ Heavens road should be made into a movie. But no adding or removing from the book. And no Unnessary scenes about Elise being a slave Prostuite.
Thanks for a great books Judith Pella!
Hoping for a trilogy!.......2000-12-13
Again and again, Pella shows her talent for creating flawed characters that have to learn the hard way. Micah is a perfect example of this, as he struggles with hate and anger and must learn both how to accept love and how to return it. Though I was expecting Book Two to be a continuation of Elise's story, I'm now glad that this one focuses instead on Micah, who has matured from a bitter and confused fourteen-year-old (see "Texas Angel") to an angry twenty-two-year-old with an agenda for revenge. Though this novel can be read alone, the depth of Micah's feelings cannot fully be appreciated unless one has read the prequel. I must again salute Ms. Pella's skill as she creates people that "just happen" to meet and are changed forever in 300 pages. As always, secondary characters do not disappoint, and the main plot sweeps us off our feet and carries us to 1830's Texas for an unforgettable tale of hate and love, sorrow and joy, tragic darkness and sweet light.
Good, but frustrating at times........2000-11-15
There were several places in the book where I would have liked to knock some sense into Micah Sinclair for his stubbornness. His father and stepmother, Benjamin and Elise, are minor characters in the story, whereas a trail guide in "Texas Angel," a minor character in that book, is now a Texas Ranger and saves Micah's neck more than once, especially when he is sentenced to be executed as a horse thief.
Micah takes several years to finally forgive his father for the past, and to overlook the fact that the lady who loves him (despite her father's misgivings) is half-Mexican. The ending seems rather hurried to me, as though a whole year is suddenly thrown into the last 2 chapters and leaves you wondering, "what were these people doing since the the previous chapter?"
Pella deserves 10 stars for suspense and quality!!!.......2000-09-10
Taking up a few years after "Texas Angel" ended, "Heaven's Road" features preacher Benjamin Sinclair's oldest son Micah, who is still a teenager and estranged from the father he hates. Micah has fought a war and desperados and has seen death too many times. He now finds himself in less than desirable company.
Alone except for his outlaw friends, he is sentenced to be executed, but his life takes a surprising direction, due to the fact he is so young and the intervention of a dear, old friend. Micah is forced to choose between hanging and serving as a Texas ranger, on the other side of the law.
There are several things which Micah hates violently, most notably his father, religion, and Mexicans for their part in the slaughter of his beloved Uncle Haden.
It is his hate which seems to drive him and keep him alive. All that changes when he meets young, beautiful Lucie Maccullum, whom he is determined he will NOT love, will never be beholden to, and will never, never allow to change him or tame him.
Micah's loyalties are torn forever at the discovery of who Lucie really is, who it is that leads the notorious, dangerous Mexican fighting men, and who and what his father has become in his absence.
Truly a cliff hanger, as well as a tender, religious fiction love story, and one which covers politics, history, and family relationships.
I sincerely hope and trust that Judith Pella is planning book #3 and soon! This book really deserves more stars than the 5 allowed on this site!
