5 out of 5 stars Pragmatic, useful ideas to improve the quality of your life.......2007-10-11

I loved this book because it offers very simple, very practical ideas that busy, busy people can use to improve the quality of their lives without having to make significant behavioral changes or significant time commitments. This type of counsel is hard to come by and very valuable. The book itself is a quick, easy read -- perfect airplane reading.

5 out of 5 stars Manage Energy - great insight........2007-08-23

We need to manage our energy to perform the most important things. We often take our energy for granted and are not aware of our ebbs and flows.
We need to do the most important things when we have the most energy. We need to eat and sleep to have more energy. It originally comes from a sports performance model, but has been adapted for executives. It is also important as we grow older. Truely a new insight for me that unified a few things I ahve been learning.

3 out of 5 stars Push Past Your Limit To Grow.......2007-06-04

I felt this book's main premise was a useful idea, but nothing novel. Expanding past one's limit, followed by a rest period resulting in growth whether physical or psychological. I liked the informational nature of the book, however, I didn't care much for the examples of actual people written about in it. I understand it is used to help prove the points, but it appeared to be fluff to me and I would have liked more information to drill the point home and more sources to back up the info.

Those opinions aside, it is worthwhile, to the point and contains enough information to satisfy reading it once, but I don't expect to re-read it.

5 out of 5 stars Not a silly self-help book.......2007-05-17

At first look, the subtitle "Managing Energy, Not Time" smells of another 'just do this and your life will be great' self-help book. However, this book avoids most of the simplistic approaches other books take. Outlined is excellent, yet straightforward guidance on how to bring into balance a work life that is out of control or at least a bit out of whack. The simple advice given (which regretfully requires some basic self discipline - I prefer to avoid self discipline) is both helpful and if followed, effective. The book is relatively careful not to imply that applying its principles or introducing self discipline is easy. It is, however, unapologetic when suggesting that making a set of changes in how one manages one's life will make a difference. The book also lays out a very helpful distinction between one's energy and one's time - and it is a very helpful distinction - describing a truth that I had not before carefully considered. The book includes numerous case studies of actual people with which the authors have worked. I think you will be able to identify with a number of these case studies. If you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, and/or lack balance in how your work life, home life, and downtime function, take a look at this book.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointing.......2007-03-21

Nothing new here. Eat right, get plenty of sleep and drink your water and you too can have more energy. I have to agree with other reviewers that state that this book is poorly written. Instead of providing a method for creating your own energy plan, the authors give simple hazy case examples.

Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

3 out of 5 stars Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

5 out of 5 stars Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting.......2007-03-07

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Get Ready to Run!

A complete guide to training for a half or full marathon in sixteen weeks, this book follows the format of Tom's previous book The 12-Week Triathlete with simply the best advice on how to run your fastest race while staying injury-free. Whether you are a first-time marathoner, trying to set a new "PR" or looking to qualify for Boston, this book is for you.

Some veteran marathoners have followed other training plans and experienced both, but Tom's approach is much different. His philosophy of "train less, run your best" will amaze you whether you are running your first marathon or fiftieth. Exercise physiologist and sports performance coach Tom Holland -- an elite endurance athlete himself and sub-3 hour marathoner who has run in more than fifty marathons, three ultramarathons, and a dozen Ironman triathlons around the world will teach you how to properly gear up and train in the sixteen weeks prior to your half or full marathon. So when that starting gun sounds, you'll be equipped with invaluable tips and techniques that will put you in position to run the best race of your life.

5 out of 5 stars First timer.......2007-10-19

I'm a 42 year old father of 2. Mid-July I decided to run the Long Beach Marathon with my best friend, who had run 2 marathons previously. It would be my first; I had done a little bit of running, but didn't even own running shoes. I bought Tom Holland's book "The Marathon Method", then I bought shoes.

To make a long story short, using only this book as a training guide, 12 weeks after buying shoes and taking up running, I ran the Long Beach Marathon last Sunday in 3:59:12, beating my friend by 6 minutes. My time would have been even better if I'd not ignored one of Tom's marathon "commandments" about staying hydrated (I didn't like energy drink provided at the race). Bottom line is, Tom Holland's training marathon training methods, in my opinion, have you running just enough miles to properly prepare you for the race while still keeping running pleasurable!! I enjoyed and looked forward to all my training runs and definitely got benefits from the strength training in between runs. Additionally, the other race preparation advice (mental strategies, diet, supplements, equipment, etc.) were extremely helpful. I highly reccomend this book.

5 out of 5 stars Good program.......2007-10-08

I used the advanced marathon training program in this book to cut my marathon time in 4 months from 3:45:17 in Prague to 3:13:55 in Berlin. I ignored his strength/core workout and did the performance training program from [...] instead on strength and core days. This book was excellent for me. The only disappoinment for me was the lack of detailed information on the mysterious taper period before the race day. Two thumbs up though.

4 out of 5 stars Great book with lots of practical advice...........2007-08-28

This is a very simple and straightforward book on preparing for your first marathon. It is systematic and easy to follow. If you haven't run this far before and you are intimidated, this will help you to get over it.

It may sound like a strange suggestion, but I also recommend Making a Change for Good: A Guide to Compassionate Self-Discipline. This later book has a nice 30 day retreat in the back that will help you with your mental game. If you don't know what I mean, you will once you start running those long distances.

With respect to my background, I was an all state runner in my late teens and ran a lot of long distance events in my 20s. I also have a graduate education in physiology and biochemistry and worked with another person in training athletes in my late twenties. Since then, I have had back and neck injuries and don't do a whole lot of running. However, I'm thinking of wading back into this stream and the gentle approach put forward here seems scientifically sound, easy to follow and simple.

I had a knee injury that was chronic when I was about 12. I got into running because I had a lot of trouble walking and was overweight. Running helped me to get over this injury, restore my self confidence and realize the power of the mind and relationship between the mind and body. This is my current pursuit and passion. Literally, a doctor told my mother I wouldn't be running and would be wearing a splint, she passed away a few years ago... but she showed me the power of intention, commitment, etc. That is not to say everyone can do anything, but most of the time I believe we limit ourselves.

If you have injuries I advise you to talk to your health care provider before taking up running. It also a good idea from a cardiovascular point of view... remember Jim Fix?! However, most people who are reasonably health can run a marathon if they train systematically. Good luck on running your first... and many thereafter. I hope to do one again sometime soon as well.

5 out of 5 stars My review.......2007-08-16

Just what I was looking for in terms of detail, easy-read...everything I wanted to know as a first time marathon runner.

4 out of 5 stars Older book but some good information.......2007-07-15

This is an older book on RV living and as such it doesn't have much if anything in the way of solar for power, satellite dish for TV and computer use or other off the grid living information one needs in 2007+. But the information on mail, medical, fees for various things, and what type of floor plan for an RV vs a trailer are helpful. Am still looking for a newer book and one that speaks to the single woman who travels in an RV and alone.

5 out of 5 stars Solid Information for Living Full-Time in an RV.......2006-01-31

My husband wanted to try full-time RVing, but I was too attached to having a house. Anyone trying to make that decision, needs to read this book.
It helps you figure the costs of such a lifestyle and how to deal with mail, licenses, and medical issues without a home base. Two chapters cover selecting an RV for full-timing. Then it addresses adjusting the RV to your special needs and what to do about storage. Five chapters cover the care of the RV (electrical systems, water, sewage, etc.). There are sections on driving, security, and selecting campgrounds.
We're talking about more than 500 pages of solid information here. It's essential for full-time RVers and quite useful for even part-time RVers.

"Live Your Road Trip Dream: Travel for a year for the cost of staying home" was written to help would-be travelers get from dreaming about a long road trip, to actually doing the trip of a lifetime. The Moeller's give you the nuts and bolts of doing it--The Complete Guide is a must-have traveling companion.

This is *the* all-inclusive RV handbook with chapters such as, Getting Started, Selecting the Rig, Driving Practices, Safety and Security, Making the RV More Livable, and a complete cost breakdown of just about everything you could possibly encounter.

I bought this book as a reference tool and companion piece while traveling the 50 states and to complement the other RV book I bought, Freewheelin' USA . Where Freewheelin' USA is written in a storytelling fashion to prepare one psychologically for the RV lifestyle, Full-Time RVing is a no- nonsense detailed handbook that guides the reader every step of the way. Neatly categorized, it delves more deeply into what to expect from living in a house on wheels, equipping novice RVers for all that could (and probably will) go wrong.

My favorite quote is, "The first day you set off you may think that Murphy's Law . . . was invented just for you."

On our first day out, we hit a tornado and the window blew off our brand new RV.

Product Description

Landing a publisher has never been harder. So many want to get published, but few understand the enormous challenges, the fierce competition, and the merciless reality of bookstore shelf. But, what if you are one of the lucky ones to land a publisher? Well, here’s what you can count on: anemic royalty rates, 18 to 24 months to publication, and giving up the rights to your book. And guess what? You’ll still be expected to do most of the marketing yourself! There’s a better way. Thanks to the Internet, self-publishing has become easier, more viable, and more potentially lucrative than ever before. In 2000, veteran commercial freelancer Peter Bowerman self-published The Well-Fed Writer (an award winning Book-of-the-Month Club selection) and in 2005, he did the same with its companion, TWFW: Back For Seconds (triple-award-finalist). The books became “standards” in the lucrative field of commercial freelancing: writing for businesses, large and small, and for hourly rates of $60-125+ or more. As this is written, together, the two books – about 50,000 copies in print – had earned him a full-time living for over five years. The definition of a full-time living (straight from the horse’s mouth): Okay, we’re not talking “picking-out-chateaux-in-the-South-of-France” kind of money, but the book paid all my bills (including a couple of print runs each year), allowed me to stay the course in funding my retirement account, stay completely out of debt, and take a few nice vacations each year. Would that work for you? The Well-Fed Self-Publisher is a 300-page, detailed, step-by-step blueprint that explains exactly how the author did what he did. According to Bowerman, “This book is for those who really want to turn their passionate creative efforts into real ‘pay-the-mortgage’ money.” Acknowledging that “self-publishing” carries an enormous amount of negative baggage (and deservedly so), the author says the focus of the book is to dramatically raise the bar on quality, for starters: I’ll show you how to create a book indistinguishable in quality from one produced by a reputable publishing company; how to do a far better job of marketing and promoting that book than a publisher ever could; and how to make far more money than you ever would with that publisher. And by doing it all yourself, you control the timetable (potentially shaving 12 to 18 months off production). Plus, you retain all the rights, allowing you to leverage the brand you’ve created into a host of profitable “spinoff” businesses – each with its own income stream. Starting from perhaps not-so-obvious fundamentals (“Write a book people will want to read”), the book progresses through a discussion of the significant limitations of the conventional publishing model (despite the best intentions of most publishers). Then, in a nod to the outright panic and terror most “creatives” experience at the mere mention of the term “sales and marketing,” the book provides an entire early chapter to help demystify these often daunting concepts. As Bowerman is quick to point out, “Success as a self-publisher is far more a function of a process than an aptitude. It’s far less about some way you have to be than it is about a bunch of things you have to do.” At that point, the book kicks into gear, offering up discussing in-depth discussions of book production, distribution, marketing, promotion, publicity (through one’s own web site, the Internet, radio, article writing, bookstores and far beyond), Amazon, spinoff businesses, and an entire chapter on the controversial so-called “revolution” known as “POD publishing” (print-on-demand). The book finishes with five appendices offering up resources and a time line for the self-publisher, a primer on foreign rights, and more.

5 out of 5 stars What every aspiring self-publisher needs to know........2007-10-21

I have done lots of research for my own column on self-publishing. While many books are informative few authors give you the sense that they are fully engaged in the process. Peter Bowerman does not hold back- he tells it like it is. From writing to marketing he details all the ways you need to get your book from your computer and out into the world.
Some dreams take on a fairy tale quality. We think it will all end well. The idea of writing and/or publishing the great american novel drives many people to write. It is a rewarding road but there is work on this journey and Bowerman lets you know that, but gives you the road map to a successful destination. It sits on top of my bookshelf with my other classics. I would add this to your resources if you are serious about getting your book on someone's bookshelf.

3 out of 5 stars The Well Fed Self Publisher.......2007-10-09

Well, when I picked up this book at a local bookstore, I figured it would tell all. Unfortunately, I suppose I was too late in reading it. I can't knock his writing, but have already been there, done that. Yet, for someone just finishing a manuscript, it's worth a read.

5 out of 5 stars Tired of missing meals.......2007-10-04

If you are or aspire to be a successful writer, then this is a must read. This is a how to manual and an excellent reference source for anything you can possibly want/need to know connected with writing, editing, book covers, marketing and building a spinoff business.

The book is well written, logically organized and most importantly comes from first hand experience. Bowerman tells what he did right and also the mistakes he made. It is an excellent blueprint for any aspiring writer to follow.

It is also a great reality check. He dispels any myth that your book will simply take off just because you get it in print. Bowerman has done a real service by telling the "facts of life" about selling books. That you must start with a good title, cover and content and then market like your income depends on it. It does. You cannot depend on anyone else, publisher, PR or publicist to do your marketing for you.

Bowerman spends a lot of time and energy on how to develop and carry out a marketing campaign. This is the one area where most writers fall down. Most writers are a bit introverted - and therefore shy away from marketing. It is not going to happen unless you, the writer, do it. If you are not willing to spend the time and effort marketing your book, save yourself the effort in writing it. It will not market itself.

He gives great tips on how to write press releases, get reviews and generate buzz. His advise is not to talk so much about the book as what it does for the target market. This is a common marketing mistake - talking about the features rather than the benefits. The benefits are all that the target market cares about.

There has been a lot of hype lately about POD. Bowerman does an excellent job of taking an honest look at the pluses and minuses of POD. And there are a lot more minuses than pluses. This section alone is worth the price of the book a few times over if you were considering POD.

The book is basically written for the non-fiction writer. But the basic principles apply to all writing.

If you are serious about self-publishing, read this book before you waste a lot of money. If you really are going to self-publish and build a spinoff business from your book, this book is an extremely valuable guide and reference resource. There are literally hundreds of web address for additional resources.

A must for anyone considering self-publishing.

5 out of 5 stars The Self-Publisher's Bible.......2007-09-29

For anyone looking to market a book, self-published or not, this is the manual. It is absolutely true that even traditional publishers don't put much effort into marketing your book unless you're Stephen King or J.K. Rowling, so you, the author, need to know how to make that book sell. Bowerman leads you through every step with personal experiences, examples, links, phone numbers and addresses, costs, everything, all told in a conversational voice that makes for easy reading. The emphasis is on marketing; he assumes you know how to write and you will hire a good editor. And yes, he manages to promote his own books, CDs, ebooks, seminars and other products along the way. But if you want to know how it all really works, this is the book.

5 out of 5 stars The Well-Fed Self-Publisher.......2007-09-17

The Well-Fed Self-Publisher, by Peter Bowerman, is an "everything you ever wanted to know" book for the author who is curious about the process of self-publishing. This all-inclusive reference guide is the manual that moves the author from book composition to profits. The TWFSP's sole purpose is to help the serious author turn their book into a full-time living.
Addressing everything from book cover design to typesetting, Bowerman humorously provides excellent directions to the first time author on how to "build" a book. Similar to a manual and peppered with useful insights, notes, warnings, and cautions based on personal experience, TWFSP guides the reader through book sales, marketing, and publicity possibilities. All the tricks and tips needed to make the leap into self-publishing are at the writer's fingertips in this thorough up-to-the-minute guide.
Logically laid out, easy to follow, and stock full of publishing and promotion ideas, The Well-Fed Self-Publisher and its companion The Well-Fed Self-Publisher Biz in a Box are great resource guides for any writer's professional library. Bowerman's wit coupled with his professional insight provides highly detailed, solidly written instructive material for authors at any level in their career.
All resources cited and indexed in the book are pertinent, up-to-date, and useful to writers, authors, and soon to be self-publishers. The appendices alone are worth the 19.95 cover price. The Well-Fed Self-Publisher has a potentially lucrative message that helps the novice and the seasoned writer maintain more control over their work as well as their profits. Bowerman's own personal success story using the tools from The Well-Fed Self-Publisher is proof positive of the book's value. Every freelancer, fiction writer, and non-fiction author should have TWFSP close at hand to minimize their dependence on mainstream media. Useful, engaging, and informative, this is a great read for writers of all genres and all experience levels.

Dear Martin:

As a healthcare professional and inventor of a product that helps people get eye drops into their eyes without missing, called ezdrops. I have both versions of Blackberry Made Simple. The e-version and the hard copy. My hard copy of Blackberry Made Simple and my Blackberry 8700c has saved me hundreds of man hours by not having to wait to be at a computer for my e mails and text messages. Blackberry Made Simple has proven to be my "bible" and I keep in with me in my brief case for the times that I travel as well as the need to find short cuts on my Blackberry 8700c. quickly. Martin has made the Blackberry device extremely user friendly by making Blackberry Made Simple very easy and fool proof to understand.

If you decide to get a Blackberry device then you MUST get the Blackberry Made Simple hard copy version.

5 out of 5 stars Sooooo Helpful.......2007-03-30

I love the way Carol Ray provided so much information... Her book was so helpful for the someone new to RVing. My only complaint is that I wish I read the book before buying our RV... We would have gotten a larger one.

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money........2006-07-21

I bought this book 3 years ago right after we bought a motorhome. Now that I have become a seasoned RV'er, I can tell you that this book is extremely outdated (published in 1999) and simply one woman's personal opinions. Almost everything in this book is common sense and recollections of what she and her husband did traveling in their 5th wheel and truck. Save your money and put it toward a subscription to Motorhome Magazine or Trailer Life. You will get up-to-date and accurate information there.

1 out of 5 stars How not to write a book.......2006-05-31

An extememely poorly written book. It was a total waste of money and time. I won't be buying or borrowing any other books by this author. Her information is, at best, meager. The information contained in the approximately 68 pages is better learned by other, far more comprehensive books. Try books by either Jan Moeller or Gordan Groene. Both authors' books are vastly superior in every way.

3 out of 5 stars I needed a bit more "meat".......2005-10-19

This book was basically a journal of one rv'ers experience. Some parts were helpful, some amusing and some just not enough info for a beginner.

5 out of 5 stars Your Home on Wheels.......2003-12-02

My husband and I came across this book by accident, and as brand new RV'ers it has become our bible! Out of all the "helpful" books and magazines, and personal experiences, this book has covered all we needed to know and then some; right up to the decision to sell our home, what type of RV to buy, which pickup to purchase and what to take along, as well as where to go, how to set up and how to break camp. We have found every piece of advice to be accurate, and would recommend that every RV'er have a copy of this, whether they are just beginning or are long time travelers.
