i think the most important step in choosing a bible is the version. this is an nkjv, and i'm very pleased with how easy this version reads.when others pick it up, i am usually asked if i could get them a copy, and even my kids find this version understandable, and therefore enjoyable.
that aside, this is the most beautiful bible i've seen. with paintings from thomas kincaide, and the words of his wife, i have found a new beauty in grabbing and READING my bible.i have had the juniper(dark)green leather bound copy for two yrs.i am pleased with how good it looks, and i do not have a delicate hand! i have also given them as gifts.my local bible shop charged just a few dollars to personalize, which should be a considaration in price. reading this pretty bible feels like a treat!
A beautiful "take anywhere" Bible.......2005-11-18
Thomas Kinkade fans will not be disappointed! I have only had this Bible for a week and am just delighted! This Bible is absolutely beautifully illustrated. My words do not even do it justice.
This NKJV is sleek and put together very well. It is not too large or heavy making it easily portable, yet the size of the print is still large enough for comfortable reading. (For the record, I have very bad vision corrected with contacts.) I have seen reference Bibles larger than this one with smaller size print!
The devotions are also very inspiring, but I have not read them all yet. While the devotions I have read are very good, there are not that many of them as compared to other more in depth devotional Bibles. (About one per week, plus a few more.) This is not a bad thing. It is just not that type of Bible. All of these devotions, as I understand it, were written by Nanette Kinkade, and I appreciate her sharing them very much!
The overall quality of this edition is exceptional. To be fair, I am not sure about the hardback edition as I have never seen one. I realize this is a matter of preference, but I believe, the bonded leather edition is the way to go. It may cost a bit more, but it is well-worth the difference in price. I say this as it seems Kinkade's pictures just seem to belong in a leather bound Bible. Again, this is a matter of opinion. His pictures are certainly beautiful any where.
The only real complaint or disappointment I had was that this is not a red letter edition of the Bible. It was put together so well and so beautifully, however, that I didn't mind it as much as I thought I would.

Beautiful creations, but..........2007-05-14
Kumiko is a master of her craft and her book shows some of her cutest work. While the patterns are fairly simple. she leaves out important hints that make recreating her projects difficult if you aren't paying attention. Pay close attention to the weight and type of fabric that she uses but does not mention in her directions. If you use a heavier fabric than what she used, you may need to adjust the pattern to make it work. I wouldn't recommend this for a complete beginning sewer. Otherwise this is a great book full of fun projects.

I love the book, and love making all the cute things in it. However, the first time I made the fish, her instructions referred to part C (or maybe D?)of the fish, and the template for the part was nowhere to be found. I was able to make my own template, but it was irritating.

I purchsed this for my wife. She is an artist and loves artistic items from Japan - ever since visitng Japan last year. She loves this book andf keeps it on our coffee table in easy reach. The instructions are excellent and the presentation is of high quality.
Exquisite Small Gifts to Make.......2006-01-27
This is the second of Kumiko Sudo's books I have purchased and fallen in love with. There is sure to be a special project that will appeal to your senses and compel you to spend the hours creating just that perfect piece! The projects are small, and require patience and careful attention to detail. That said, the hand sewing can be done in front of the television or while riding in the car.
Items evoke a delight when given as gifts and are perfect for those who have everything. These patterns seem a bit more difficult than those in the Omiyage book and require a bit more imagination to fill in the steps not illustrated. If you enjoy challenging projects, you will love this book.
The Temari balls have become an bit of an issue at my house. I make them for my children and our Siamese cat grabs the balls and runs with them from the kids! So if you have cats or want to make a very special gift for a friend with cats, you could make a Temari ball with a bit of catnip inside!

This is my second book, I love this book and hope to get one every 5 years! It's a great way to save all our wonderful Christmas memories, places to put photos,write notes and share your wonderful experiences for years to come. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys scrapbooking but doesn't have the time...it's done for you except what you put in...love it
Excellent Legacy to Someday Leave.......2006-03-19
Although our 2 children are still very small, we already love to flip through the pages of this book and look at the first year when our oldest was a baby. This book records 5 years of Christmas memories and is a treasure in our home. Each year in full of areas for pictures, attaching keepsakes, and recording memories that would otherwise get forgotten with the passage of time. There is also a pocket in the far back to keep other treasures in as well, such as letters to Santa, etc. We have completed the first 4 years and I intend on buying another copy after we complete the 5th year in December 2006. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to preserve memories!

I must say I purchased this book in 2001 for my husband and I to record every Christmas together from 2001-2005. And have grown fond of this book. It has places for your card, stamp, photo's of your family, tree, decorations and all your favorite things including funny things that happen like when my brother got stuck under the tree one year! I've grown so fond of it that I'm back to order 2 more of these books now to enjoy from 2006 through 2013! If you want something wonderful to record your favorite christmas memories or some type of great gift to give those whom seem to get sentimental during Christmas this is the book you need!

Having devoured every page of the Harrisons' Mother to Daughter book, I was eager to discover what wisdom lay in their newest volume. I wasn't disappointed! Again, this little gem is filled with wise counsel -- this time for mothers of boys of any age. The authors' economy of words, their humor and insight, is never cliche. I recognized myself and my own sons in its pages and appreciate the opportunity to better prepare for our oldest son's new adventure in college. It's great reading for "taxi-ing" times -- I carry my copy in my car -- and is a wonderful tool for opening dialogue with our sons. Fun to read and most profound, all in one terrific package!

Connecting parents and children.......2005-03-30
This book follows the methods described in Marshall Rosenberg's book about non-violent communication. I highly recommend this book for parents even if you have not yet read the Rosenberg book. The book is short (43 pages), yet it clearly describes the application of the non-violent communication technique to communicate, motivate and develop mutually empathic relationship with your child. It is a win-win relatiohship where the feelings and the needs of both the child and the adult are met without the use of the emotional blackmail of shame, guilt, blame or rewards. Inbal Kashtan described the communication method with lots of examples and exercises after each chapter so you can practice and reinforce the method. Incorporating this simple but powerful method of communciation between a child and a parent allows the child to develop self motivation, the ability to express feelings and needs and empthatically connect to self and others even in an emotionally charged environment. Its something we all strive for and special gift that you can give and share with your child.

This book is a wonderful collection of prayers you will want to read and look at day after day. I actually got it to give as a gift to my Mother for her birthday. I found myself going back to the store to buy myself a copy and some kleenex to give along with my Mom's book : ) Children will never know how much a Mother loves and what it all means until they themselves become a parent. Great questions to bridge the gap..........2001-12-07
I loved this book so much that I sent my mom a copy too. I've asked the questions from this book to both of my grandmothers (through the mail) and it inspired some really great conversations. It was written by a mother-daughter team who really wanted to know more about each other and the questions they came up with to ask each other are things I wanted to know too. I would totally recommend to people who want a closer relationship with their moms or aunts or grandmothers to get a copy of this book.

This is a beautiful book to give at a bridal shower or as a wedding gift. There are wonderful drawings and the quotes and sayings are lovely. I especially love the "advice on marriage":
