Book Description
Written teen to teen as a first-person narrative, this is not a book about the Columbine shootings - instead, it's a story of faith, told in Rachel's own words. The book includes first person narratives, journal entries, drawings from Rachel's diary, and notes from her parents and friends at Columbine High School. Additionally, "me pages" (what makes me angry, what I'm aftraid of) encourage teens to explore issues central to their lives and faith. Highlighting Rachel's faith journey from the time she became a Christian, through her joys and doubts, her hopes and dreams, this story is a triumphant testimony that teens will treasure.

engrossing book.......2006-11-13
I highly recommend this book. Based on her real journals, you feel by the end of this book like you knew Rachal Scott personally. Even though it's not the exact journal entries, Beth Nimmo, Rachal's mother collaborated with the writer, and you get the sense that Rachal's true character was captured. This book brings to life a girl mature and inciteful beyond her years. I was humbled and deeply moved by her total commitment to living out her faith in Christ. I appreciate especially her honesty. Her story brings to life the loss of such a beautiful young woman. You don't need to be a teenage girl to read this book, but every teenager should read it.Thank you Beth for allowing us to walk along side her in her last years.
Great for teenage girls.......2006-06-30
I bought this book for my 16 yr. old daughter and her mind set has changed. After reading this book, all on her own she started journaling and recently asked to be baptised. I thank GOD for Rachel Joy Scott and her parents.
Inspiring.......2006-02-24
This book will change the way you view life and its meaning. I also recommend you read Rachels Tears as well!
Great gift.......2005-12-22
I bought this for a teenager I know and she loved it. She is a quiet teen but she made sure she brought this book to church to show it off. It is a thought-provoking book, very well written.
Deserves more stars * * * * * * * * *.......2005-07-13
When I first began reading this book it was right when I first wanted to give my life to God. This book helped me sooo much. It's full of inspirational quotes and accounts of a true christian. Her story really had an impact on my life. I bought this book for a few of my friends so that they could also read her incredible story. If you read any book it should be this one!
Book Description
Finding the right words to communicate sympathy to a friend who is grieving is one of the most difficult tasks we face. What do you give when a card or a casserole isn't enough? Deep loss-that of a spouse, parent, child, or close friend-is addressed in a number of books. But
Through a Season of Grief, a GriefShare devotional, is devoted to those who are mourning a loss. Grieving is a process that is managed over time. As a gift, this 365-day devotional, the first of its kind, ministers beyond the initial loss and into the coming year of bereavement. Full of biblical comfort and psychologically sound advice, the book features insights from well-known and respected Christian leaders such as Kay Arthur, Larry Crabb, and Jack Hayford.

Through a Season of Grief:Devotions for Your Journey From Mourning to Joy.......2007-04-11
This book has given me great comfort. It has helped me afirm my beliefs in God's plans for me. And it's let me know there are many others who are going through the same feelings as me. It has supported me in my grief.
A wonderful tool to work through grief.......2007-03-12
This is a wonderful tool to work through the journey of grief on the way back to joy. The devotions are inline with the GriefShare support group sessions and video sessions. Each day a person is without a loved one is full of pain and loneliness and this book gives help to work through those days. I wished I had it after my first husband had passed away.
My pick me upper.......2006-11-06
I lost a son last November 19th 2005. He was killed by a semi-truck. I was
depressed all the time. I won't say I'm better But I understand more. He would have been 19 on May 16th 2006. He joined The Army National Guard on the delay program. He just finished Basic Training. He was my 1st born. It was the hardest thing for me to go through. But my dad's friend from church
gave me this book to help me understand also to help me greive. I will say this YOU WILL GREIVE TILL YOU GO TO HEAVEN> Then you will GREIVE NO MORE!!
I reccomand this to anyone who's lost a LOVED ONE!! A GREAT BOOK STILL READING IT OVER AND OVER!!
Through a Season of Grief.......2006-07-15
I lost my husband 63 weeks ago. Dr. James Dobson sent me my first copy of this book and since then I've purchased at least 50 copies and given them as gifts. I've even gotten our funeral home to start stocking these books to give out to people instead of the AfterCare package they gave to me. It is one of the best books I've found when living with grief as a constant companion. No book will ease the pain but this book gives me something to hold onto until I can be with my husband again. I've read it three times and will read from it everyday for the rest of my life.
Mom loves this book.......2006-07-02
My mother read this book after losing Dad. She said it was so helpful to her that she wanted to order a copy for each of her daughters. This is how I came to order 3 copies from Amazon. I have not read the book myself yet, but Mom loves it, and Amazon made the order easy.
Book Description
LOVE COMES SOFTLY, the first series from the pen of Janette Oke, follows the lives of one family through three generations-beginning with a hated""marriage of convenience,""through hardships common to life on the prairie in an earlier time, leading at last to an abiding love. These eight stories reflect the enduring hope of Christian love and faith despite adversity and hardship. More than 6.5 million copies of the books in the series have been sold. Books 1-4 are in this box set.

Love Comes Softly review.......2007-09-30
This series is awesome. They are so easy to read that you just flow. The only complaint is skipping in the years but you could not begin to read all of the years i guess. Very hard to put down once you start reading.
Love Comes Softly Pack.......2007-07-25
I enjoyed reading these books for content and because they were very easy to read. They were written in a comprehensive language that allowed the reader to flow quickly through its content.
Love Comes Softly Books 1-4.......2007-05-07
Good strong moral values are taught in this series. Easy reading gives you an idea of what it was like to live in the 1800's including travel, homelife, and strong work ethics. It takes you back to a slower pace of life. These books are worth reading.
Refreshing!!!.......2007-05-07
I bought all the movies and all the books for my Mom (83) and she absolutly loves them, she read all 8 books in about a week, said she "just couldnt put them down"!! Highly reccomended!!
Heartwarming and soulful!.......2007-05-06
The Love Comes Sotfly books are wonderful! The characters jump out at you and come alive. They are much better than the Hallmark movies, and it was fun to read the differences and follow the lives of Clark, Marty and their children through the pages. Read the Prairie Legacy also by Janette Oak, they continue the story of Clark and Marty. What a wonderful set of books, I really reccommend them, especially if you like sequels and want to know the rest of the story.
Book Description
"I have been asked if I have any last words before God calls me to a new assignment, and I do" Bill Bright said months before his death. At the time, facing an incurable disease, pulmonary fibrosis, his initial response was, "Thank you, Lord." His doctor believed he was in denial, but Bright's determination to declare the faithfulness and sovereignty of God for the rest of his days remained firm. His preparation for leaving this earth is chronicled in this surprisingly optimistic, encouraging book. Despite great suffering, Dr. Bright displayed unflinching courage and wrestled along with readers over troubling questions and intensifying his gaze on eternity. And as he experienced the nearness of death, Bright was able to write with unswerving confidence, "Four realities are more clear than ever: God is real, His promises are true, life is an exciting though brief adventure, and heaven is our home."
Customer Reviews:
Glimpse of a faithful Christian.......2007-01-13
This is one of those books where the minute you pick it up and read the first page, you had to finish it. Bill Bright is truly one of God's faithful servants; choosing to live a life that is selfless and full of integrity as a "slave" of God. The book gives you a glimpse into the last few years of his life as he battled pulmonary fibrosis. He finished his work on earth with the utmost joy and no one can capture what he went through better than the man himself. The book also sheds light into his wife, his children, and his ministry.
It's amazing that not more people know about Bill Bright. He started the Campus Crusade for Christ ministry and has made several films including the JESUS film which has been seem by over 5.5 billion people. He also came up with the 4 spiritual laws gospel among other outreach materials. Through Bill's ministry, millions of people have come to accept Christ. I didn't know about Bill Bright either until this year as I was going through my own struggles in life. Reading his book and seeing how he finished his life with joy and the blessing he left to those around him brought so much hope and encouragement to my life. It also showed me a better picture of who God really is and how He blesses the life of those who love Him. You must give this book a read.
Life changing .......2005-11-20
I read this book and recieved so much peace from this mans journey to Heaven, but what I have also done is adopt his daily principles for living and I have shared the book with my son who is Autistic and incarcerated. It has changed both our lives!
Very uplifting.......2005-08-23
I am just half way through this book and already find it a very uplifting book. It gives you more of a looking forward to Heaven than a fear of death. It is so good to see someone not just live his faith, but also bring God glory through, must be one of the hardest times in one's life, his knowing death is near.
A Comforting Testimony.......2005-04-01
In 2003 I saw my uncle die suddenly of a heart attack, and for a long time afterward I was anxious about dying. Even though I am a Christian and have accepted Christ, thinking about dying seemed sort of like waiting in a dentist's lobby before having a painful tooth drilling, and I was frequently haunted by anxiety and worry about what dying will be like.
Reading this book was very helpful to me. The author, a well-known Christian evangelist, receives a terminal diagnosis and this book is his story as he faces his own death. He is genuine and open, taking you along through the thoughts and things he faces, and how he comes to grips with the knowledge. The book goes from his first diagnosis, through his progressive failing health, and his final chapter, written in his last days, where he says goodbye to the reader. An epilogue written by his wife describes his final hours as he passed away, which helps the reader to see the end of the journey being completed as he goes to be with Jesus.
We will all face death, and will all have to go through this experience. Even if we are Christians, the prospect of death disturbs us. This book is a great help and a comfort to anyone who has lost someone, or who is facing their own death.

still one of the best.......2006-08-07
This is still one of the best foundation books for getting a basic understanding of Color, crystals and the chakras. This was the first book on crystal healing that I ever got over a decade ago.
Its not flashy, it does not try to cover everything, what it does cover it covers very well. It is a small book but adresses the basics in a clear useful way.
of value to any esoteric's book collection.......2004-04-30
I like this little book even though it isn't terribly in depth. It is one of the few books that I have found that pulls together the chakras and stones so succinctly.
It's set up in chapters, each devoted to one of the chakras, and in each chapter it briefly describes the many aspects of the chakra, covering everything from the mandala that is associated with it, to the colors, crystals and chants.
I definately think that it is of value to any esoteric's book collection.
great book.......2003-08-15
I loved the book... was dissapointed in that she left out many stones I have read about in other books.. so is somewhat limited
good descriptions though...
easy to read...
flows good..
definatly a must for the person who is studying crystal healing or thinking about it.
a unmatched classic work.......1999-02-27
Joy Gardner was definitely ahead of her time! This book is the most complete chakra and color resource I have ever found. As a bookstore owner, many books come my way. This is one of the greatest.

Customer Reviews:
If'd I known it was Christian based................2007-09-29
I am still "out on a limb" as to the impact of this book. I may or may not, eventually recant my initial response to "TRUST THE HIGHER POWER"...."RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD".... references. I do know, for those that have an ultimate life powered life "with their Christian God", that this may be the perfect vehicle for their experience.
I had just wished that when I had ordered the book from Amazon that I had known that "giving over to a Christian Lord" was paramount to the "learning" that would be given in the book. I am not diminishing the lessons offered nor the wisdom offered, nor the depth of important lessons offered.........but was only taken back by the fact if I did not "believe" in a "Christian Lord"...........the book was maybe, irrelevant.
A must read for all woman .......2006-10-14
This book is one of the best gifts I've ever received. You will read it, apply what you've learned and experience change in your life. If you are busy like me, sitting to read a book is a luxury. Sincerely, I need to share with you that this book is a necessity. I only wish I would have read it many years ago. Do yourself a favor and read this. You will think differently and become more evolved as a person. I now give this as a gift to special woman in my life. I keep going back to it over and over again. Put your job, husband, children, friends, whoever or whatever on hold for a few hours and treat yourself to this amazing book.
A guide every woman should own.......2006-03-02
This book is a treasure! The pages are filled with practical suggestions on what you can do for yourself when you feel you've lost your way.
There are tons of books and articles that tell you what you should be doing or feeling- (which can leave you feeling worse when you can't switch your mind to this better way of thinking. ) Knowing you need to let go is one thing- letting go is another! Betty Crowson has a way of expressing her own experiences and the many women she has met that leaves you feeling not alone. You feel you have a coach rooting for you and understands how you are feeling.
The author has a beautiful gift of validating and encouraging the reader to believe in oneself. It gives tons of examples of real life people and exercises at the end of each chapter that are not to be missed.
This book is the best gift you can give to yourself(and the other women in your life who are out there trying to do the best they can)- This book gives us the tools to thrive and not just survive!
It is a must read!
Didn't want it to end...........2005-12-30
Once you pick up Hill Crowson's "The Joy Is In The Journey" you won't want to put it down, sort of like a box of chocolates.....just one more and you'll turn off the light. Don't rush through it no matter how tempting.... read slow, take it in, linger and toy with her suggestions.
When you wake up - test the waters, pick one of the suggestions and put it into practice - it will work if you work with it. You'll want to share "The Joy Is In The Journey" with your friends, don't - let them get their own copy.
You'll want this book to live on your bookshelf, you'll refer back to it time and time again and treasure every bite of advice.
Thanks Betty!
Finally, a road map to help direct the way!.......2005-10-14
They say when the student is ready the teacher appears. The Joy is in the journey is the road map we need to get us through lifes challenges. There is finally a book with the tools and wisdom to help us not only get by, but to SHINE and HEAL.
Thank you Betty!! This book is a must for every woman.

A Promising National Bestseller.......2005-11-08
I find Joys' book "Choosing Light-Heartedness" to be very impressive! For years we've read many wonderful books about codependence and dysfunctional families, but never before has a psychotherapist written a book from his or her own professional experience that teaches clear, simple steps of an emotional healing journey that anyone can undertake, no matter what their history or their educational background!
Kari Joys writes with the kindness and heart-felt compassion of someone who has overcome the emotional pain in her own life and now sincerely wants to help others who also want to heal. She also demonstrates true lightheartedness through her writing that is clearly from someone who has succeeded in her own emotional healing journey. I believe this book could easily be a national bestseller! When it does I believe it will help millions of people who are struggling with anxiety, depression and poor self esteem to actually find the guidance they need to overcome their issues and create new and better lives for themselves!
Empowerment that provides solutions! Masterful!.......2005-11-03

Easy to follow pathway to a "lighter you".......2005-11-01
"Choosing Light-Heartedness" is an excellent book for anyone wanting to grow within. The way it is written is very easy to follow and is in common everyday language. I enjoyed how Kari added experiences to the chapters which gave an added connection. The assignments are well laid out and easy to follow. I especially like how the chapters are broken down; it makes it easy to find a specific issue that you made need to work on again.
I recommed this book to everyone. The assignment are work, but worth the effort. In the end you will find a "lighter you".

Drawn into worship.......2000-04-05
The combination of Michael Card's words and Timothy Bott's colour and calligraphy make "Joy in the Journey" much more than a pleasant book to look at, but rather a truly remarkable book for meditation and reflection. As Card's words are given new life and depth by Bott's calligraphic illustrations, so Bott's work is given new quality by the power of the words. The result is that the reader is blessed in heart and soul in the reading and reflection on beauty, truth and colour, and further drawn into the worship and service of the One Whom the book honours.
