Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Book Description

After a nerve–shattering encounter with military justice in The Accused, Craig Parshall’s third novel, all lawyer Will Chambers wants to do this summer is relax with his wife, Fiona...

A long stay on the North Carolina coast seems perfect. But when Will reluctantly looks into a local inheritance case involving Jonathan Joppa, a down–on–his–luck preacher—

“Piracy charge—Joppa’s ancestor? What...when?”

“Why, for being part of Blackbeard’s pirate crew...in the early 1700s...”

Will just wants to rest, but Fiona keeps insisting there’s something missing...buried. Soon the two have had a near–fatal brush with smugglers—and together they’ve unearthed the truth: about a pirate’s history, about Jonathan Joppa, and about two remarkable women—one in the past, and one in the present.

5 out of 5 stars Best since Parshall's Resurrection File.......2007-01-03

Craig Parshall weaves an excellent tale blending history, fiction and Biblical truth. In recent years Christian Fiction has become a boone to the literary industry. Books and stories published by many are thin and underdeveloped reading more like witnessing tracts than novels. I urge anyone with a liking for Grisham to pick up Parshall.

3 out of 5 stars Book 4.......2004-06-04

Once more, Will Chambers is faced with a mystery set in the past, three hundred years to be exactly. To clear up a disputed legacy, he has to prove the innocence of a man accused of being one of Blackbeard's pirates. If he fails, a local good ol' boy/ godfather will take control of an island meant to go to a country pastor. The case is difficult, relying on ancient court records and interpretation. Complicating Will's life further, his beloved Fiona is pregnant, and wants to help him.

*** The latest entry in a Christian's Perry Mason series is a bit slower than the first three. Fans of history will admire the research and detail that go into bringing past and present to equal life. ***

MISSING WITNESS, book number four in the Chambers of Justice series, presents Will Chambers with the most difficult challenge of his career. Talk about cold cases! He has to prove that Isaac Joppa, who lived more than 300 years ago, was innocent of piracy. Despite the lack of historical documentation, Will begins this seemingly impossible investigation. He skillfully follows what few threads he has and starts to unravel the mystery that surrounds the most infamous dweller on the Reverend Jonathan Joppa's family tree.
If Isaac Joppa's innocence can be proved, Reverend Joppa will inherit Stony Island off the coast of North Carolina, left to him by Randolph Willowby, a distant cousin who was also related to the alleged pirate. Of course there are those who benefit if Will loses the case. Enter the dastardly Blackjack Morgan, who is certain that the secret to Blackbeard's buried booty is hidden on the island. Morgan is a good ol' boy godfather type who seems to have everyone in his debt, including Judge Hawsley Gadwell who is trying this unusual case. But loyalty through intimidation seldom lasts and one wonders which of Morgan's lackeys will be plotting to betray him first.
Once again Parshall comes through with a cast of fascinating characters played against a backdrop jam-packed with history, suspense and legal maneuverings. Will's beautiful wife, Fiona is having serious difficulty carrying their first child, there are intermittent chapters that detail Isaac Joppa's adventures, and there is the drama surrounding Reverend Joppa's struggle with his faith. These are back-stories that intrigue but never distract. Another winner for Craig Parshall.

Book Description

Are you missing the real estate boom? Can you increase your wealth from it? For most people—including current homeowners—the answer is a resounding yes.

But it’s not too late to increase your stake in the greatest real estate boom of our generation. Whether you are a first-time buyer or already own your home, Are You Missing the Real Estate Boom? will show you how you can dramatically increase your overall wealth. Author David Lereah, chief economist for the National Association of Realtors, shows why the real estate market is poised to climb higher over the next decade—and explains what you can do to profit from it.

Lereah calls today’s market a “once-in-every-other generation opportunity.” Today's boom is not just driven by low interest rates—there are a host of demographic and economic reasons why real estate will continue to outpace other investments, from the growing needs of the baby-boomer generation and the rise of the “echo” boomer generation to the new ways real estate is marketed and sold.

Are you a first-time buyer? A current homeowner considering whether or not to trade up? There has never been a better time to do so, Lereah convincingly claims. In Are You Missing the Real Estate Boom?, Lereah explains what to look for when you’re buying a home; which improvements add the most value to your current home; what to consider when purchasing rental properties; how to evaluate real estate investment trusts (or REITs); and the pros and cons of second homes. Full of detailed information on how to work with a real estate agent and a mortgage lender, how to analyze local markets and regional fluctuations, and how to best finance your investment, Are You Missing the Real Estate Boom? offers readers the seasoned advice they need to invest with confidence and reap outsized rewards.

Are You Missing the Real Estate Boom? author David Lereah, chief economist for the National Association of Realtors®, asks. We are experiencing a historic wealth-building opportunity. To ensure that your don’t miss out, Lereah provides the tools, information, and analysis you need to become a savvy real estate investor. And he shows how to integrate real estate into your overall investment strategies and financial planning goals. Among the information you’ll find in the book:

• How to become a master at dealing with real estate agents, brokers, and lenders.
• Which home improvements will result in the greatest long-term gains.
• How to identify the vacation homes and regions that will increase the most in value.
• How to finance a first-time home—with or without a big down payment.

The long-term fundamentals for housing remain strong into the foreseeable future, claims Lereah. Far from a real estate “bubble,” what we are experiencing today is a phenomenon that takes place only once every other generation: a long-term real estate market expansion.

Isn’t it time you started taking advantage of it today?

1 out of 5 stars Awesome Book!.......2007-09-07

Awesome Book! I totally agree with other posters on the historical signifigance. It has the same weight and dark humor aspects as Ernon's "Code of Ethics" Employee Handbook from 2000. Aside from the hilarious writing, the best part has to be the great cover illustration of the floating house... It's just out of reach...but maybe with an 80/20 Stated Income I/O loan package we can make it happen! Hooray!

1 out of 5 stars A Book for the Terminally Stupid.......2007-06-20

Its obvious from the headlines today that this book is a load of manure. Exactly the opposite of the book's premise has happened. Funny thing is, its happened before and will happen again. Real Estate, like everything else, goes in cycles.

1 out of 5 stars Oh, REALLY, Mr. Lereah?????.......2007-04-12

Wanna bet that it WILL bust? My annual income against your? You are welcome to join the bet: my e-mail is here!
This book is full of lie, starting from its title.
1) Will not bust?
It did before many time, so why it will not again?
More over, it took just a few month to show everyone that Mr. Lereah was, let's put it in polite way, was wrong.
Sales in 2006 fell by 3-4%, prices fell by 3-5%, and profit of home builder fell by 30%!
ANd this is according to National Accosiation of Realtors (NAR) data that usually paint much rosy picture that reality!
If you look closer to your neighborhood you will see what they say is not true.
What about the house across the street from me that was on the market for 18 (!) month and was sold recently for 25% of its initial price?
What about all of those "incensitives" that costs tens of thousnads dollars that builder offer now? They are not in statistics!
What about "seller pay for closing cost/cruise/1 year condo fee/new BMW", etc.?
What about real estate agent that sells new houses I talked recently? He said in 2006 he made just 30% (!!!) from what he made in 2005.
So, NAR, sales fell 3%?
Did you count it in your "statistics", NAR guys? Seems like you don't!
My advice: listen what he says, and then do completely opposite!

1 out of 5 stars Great book if you want to LOSE YOUR SHIRT.......2007-03-06

BE WARNED, click on the author's name link. He's the same BOZO who was telling people how they could get rich on tech stocks in a book published in MARCH OF 2000!!! Whatever this guy says to do, DO THE OPPOSITE and you should be fine.

5 out of 5 stars If it's time for a second home, it's time for this book.......2007-01-23

This is an excellent book for anyone who wants to understand how to make decisions about purchasing a home (to use as a home), a second/vacation home or investment property. I bought my current home at what turned out to be the top of the last real estate boom and it's worth a huge amount more now than it was 10 years ago (and I'm not unique). Now it's time for a ski home, and we want it while our teenagers can enjoy it too - not later when they're in college or living in other parts of the country; and this book gave the type of guidance I needed.

It seems to me that some who posted about this book probably never owned real estate or it would not be so shocking to discover that real estate builds personal wealth. This book is not for anyone who wants to treat real estate like those who day trade in stocks or who have no savings/assets but want to buy anyway, at any financial terms. This is for regular people who want their home (or homes) to build wealth over the long term. If you are considering additional properties and want to understand the various options to be able to make WISE decisions, buy this book.

Fans of Will Christopher Baer's first novel, Kiss Me, Judas, have already met Phineas Poe: defrocked cop, former morphine addict, part-time psychotic, and a man who has lost his heart to a woman who left him in a tub full of ice, one kidney shy of the standard allotment. Poe knows a bad day when he sees one:
The thing is that my consciousness drifts and I have forgotten what I look like. I pass my reflection in a blackened window and I may not recognize myself. My reflection is perceived as a threat, an ugly twin. My reflection is a dark nonperson, a stranger on the street and this is not an identity crisis as I understand the phrase.
The bad days are back in Baer's second noir offering (and book two of his Poe trilogy), Penny Dreadful. Fresh from his surgical unpleasantness and eager to start a new life in Denver, Poe contacts a former colleague, Detective Moon, who shares with Poe the drunken admission that several handfuls of Denver's finest are missing. Among them is Moon's dearest friend, Detective Jimmy Sky.

When Poe agrees to look for Sky, things quantumly shift from bad to gross as he uncovers the gothish Game of Tongues, a freakishly cruel and narcotically fueled live action role-playing game (think Dungeons and Dragons in leather and chains), the object of which is to seek, suck, sever, and swallow the tongues of fellow players. Deaths ensue--imagine that!--and things spiral down from there.

Slim, existential, and darkly humorous, Penny Dreadful is a challenging (the point of view slides like Jackie Robinson, and if you prefer your dialogue with quotation marks you'd better bring your own) but beautiful train-wreck of a book that constantly dares the reader to look away. But if you don't look at the twisted metal, you'll never see the art. --Michael Hudson

Book Description

When Phineas Poe is enlisted by his old ally, Detective Moon, to find a missing cop named Jimmy Sky, he is drawn into the Game of Tongues, a violent fantasy game played by the disaffected and delusional in the punk clubs, rooftops, and sewers of Denver. With everyone he meets possessing multiple personalities and his own identity slipping away, Poe realizes if he can hang on to his sanity long enough to find Jimmy Sky, he might just beat the game.

Will Baer's 3 books go together in some strange, twisted series. If you like Chuck Palahniuk, and his twisted writings, you'll love Baer's stuff. Crazy plots, great writing style, dramatic twists, crude images, and a little bit of love.
I recommend these books to everyone

5 out of 5 stars Dark, surreal, poetic, brilliant, and worthwhile.......2005-11-22

Someone has written "Dark Poetry." This could not be more accurate. PENNY DREADFUL is one of the most starkly beautiful books ever to come out. That said, I have to admit that I haven't yet read "Kiss Me, Judas," but plan to get it sometime this week. Back to PD: Surreal and fresh, this book nevertheless disturbs on so many levels---any good book will. But what makes it truly unique is the way the author's mind works-you can literally see the wheels turning; not in a bad way; and it's not at all predictable. If you want a touch-feely "feel-good" book, this is not it. But it is great fiction by a very talented writer who I hope we see more of.

If you enjoy the works of Chuck Palahinuk, Jackson McCrae, Bret Easton Ellis, and other "new age" writers, then this is the book for you.

Really when I think about it, I found Penny Dreadful to be a mediocre sequel to Kiss Me, Judas, but that could just be that Kiss Me, Judas was a like the experience with a new drug, one never gets that high you got the 1st time. I was probably just the absence of Jude and the missing descriptive torrid sex that came along with Jude, that failed to draw me in as much.
That's not to say that I didn't think Penny Dreadful wasn't an excellent novel, full of surrealism and noir tendencies, fuzzy transitions and other worldly characters who prance about in a stress, drug and sub-conscious induced haze. Numb to the world around them and their plural indentities, in and out of the game.
Phineas Poe our intrepid hero once again has found himself in a dangerous situation in the dregs of society, caught up in a web of drugs, fuzzy logic and dangerous individuals Poe must see through the B.S. which is much easier for him this go around without the morphine addiction and the whole coming to grips with his only having the one kidney.
Poe as a character seemed much more together, and a lot less confused in the 2nd Poe novel, which I greatly liked, he is a very excellently developed figure and I like him better without quite so much fog. Thats not to say that he isn't confused and disoriented several times in this novel, its just a little less.
Check it out, see what you think.

4 out of 5 stars Confusing sequel, but..........2004-11-23

Still wonderful. I was intrigued by the dark poetry in Kiss Me, Judas, and it still continues in Penny Dreadful. Baer has a way with words that is striking and sometimes surprisingly horrific.

The incontinuity of the books kind of threw me off at first, but I soon sunk into the little drugged up world where the "Game of Tongues" exists. There are characters from Kiss Me, Judas, but the tale takes a complete 180. Baer feeds you sparse tidbits about the game and the culture to keep you guessing about what exactly is going on in perfect, psychotic prose.

In retrospect, I don't exactly see the point of the book in the trilogy except maybe to tie up some loose ends, character development, but it still is lovely as a stand-alone book, or as something to improve your grasp on Phineas Poe.

5 out of 5 stars Great Sequel to Kiss Me, Judas.......2004-10-08

I just finished this book a day ago and it is definitely a worthy sequel to Kiss Me, Judas.

Following the story in Kiss Me, Judas Phineas Poe returns to Denver where it all begins and finds himself in a completely different world. People are playing a game called the 'game of tungues' which is slowly becoming real and reality is starting to slip.

This book is extremely different from Kiss me, Judas but not in a negative way at all. It mixes the noir genre from KMJ with sci-fi to create a great vibe and an incredible story. This book honestly had me on end until the last page.

I strongly recommend this book to any fans of: Will Christopher Baer, Chuck Palahniuk, Bret easton Ellis, Craig Clevenger, and any other author out there.

5 out of 5 stars I had a better time reading this than I do fishing.......1998-04-03

Sandy Lindsey is right on target with this book. It had me and my buddys clutching our ribs with laughter. You know Sandy's lost her share of fish -- and had a great time doing it. I'm giving it to all my friends for birthday presents.

5 out of 5 stars Thoroughly entertaining & enjoyable.......1998-03-24

This has to be the funniest book I've ever read.

5 out of 5 stars I nearly fell out of my fishing boat laughing........1998-03-21

This has to be one of the funniest books ever written. I took it out fishing with me so I'd have something to do in between the fish biting. You know, I didn't pay attention to the fish all day, I was so busy reading this book. This book kept me laughing so much I nearly fell overboard clutching my ribs. Even non-fishermen will love it!

    Book Description

The Bible speaks of a time unparallel to any other-The Time of Jacob's Trouble or the Great Tribulation. Mainstream Christianity teaches the restrainer that is ascribed to holding back the powers of darkness is the Holy Spirit and since the Holy Spirit resides in them, they believe that they will be removed from the earth in rapture. Only then will Anti-Messiah appear.

Missing the Mark: How and Why Mainstream Christianity Will Be Deceived in the Last Days uses biblical references to prove that not only is it scripturally inaccurate to believe a select few will be removed from the Earth in a rapture, it is unnecessary. Author Susan Mahoney reveals the true restrainer and explains why the Church is under heavy spiritual darkness. Using a strong Scriptural foundation and hard facts of recent history, Mahoney reasons under this cover of this darkness, Satan has already constructed the outline of the one-world system and prepared the citizens of the earth for the unveiling of his man.

5 out of 5 stars Islam for dummies!.......2005-11-24

Wow... more information than I expected. Not only does this book give a different (and biblical) perspective on the rapture (which is only addressed in the first chapter), it teaches the basics of Islam and the Middle East Crisis and why you need to know about it. Politically incorrect (to put it mildly) don't read it unless you can take it!!!!
