Excellent for devotions!!!.......2007-10-18
This is an amazing devotional Bible. There are many Bibles out there that give you daily readings from the Bible so that you can finish in a year, but not like this. F. LaGard Smith has arranged the Bible in the order that it actually happened so that you can get a sense of when things are taking place in one book in relationship to another. There are a few places where I disagree with his placement of a book. For instance, he places Job after the exile when it seems much more likely that Job was a comtemporary of Abraham. But this is a very minor matter and doesn't deter me from giving this Bible a 5 out of 5 star rating. I highly recommend it for devotional reading.
Pleased.......2007-09-24
This is the second order I've made for this product. I really enjoy the format. Highly recommend.
Good for daily Bible reading.......2007-08-31
Ordered this to share with others as we have had one personally for many years and wanted others to share in this great experience of daily Bible reading. Thanks! Tom Thomas
Daily Bible:New International Version .......2007-07-13
I LOVE this Bible. It has helped me understand God's word and helped me understand more about when and how things happened since it is in chronological order. I wish it came on CD though as I don't always have time to read it and get behind!
The daily bible.......2007-06-08
The book is an excellent presentation of the bible and useful bible study material. However, it is printed on very poor quality (very thin) paper. Since the book is meant for daily reading I believe it will be better if you print the book using good quality paper and raise the price a bit. It is not like any other book you read once and leave it on a book shelf. I am a bit disappointed.

Great Book.......2007-01-09
one of the best books out there to read. very usefull and insightful
Fun Book - Good Reference for Non Native English Speakers.......2007-01-04
This is a book which has a funny approach on everyday language. Words and sentences that once seemed to have no sense at all are now explained. While the meaning of these expressions might be widely known for native speakers, it is a good reference for foreigners who are willing to excel in English language, even in its weirdest senses.
Funny but very short.......2006-12-24
This book is less than one hundred pages, in large print, with an odd page size. In other words, it's more a pamphlet than a book. For the price, I found the brevity very disappointing.
However, the concent was extremely funny, and did teach me at least one rather delightful phrase I had never heard before.
Learn how to swear.......2005-08-24
Well... at least you know what it means when others are swearing ;)
not for ESL.......2005-02-04
I bought this book to help some of my ESL students to understand how/when to use American swear words.....however, it is definitely not a good reference in that sense. Although it IS funny, it is more of a narrative and not a resource.
Book Description
Everyone thinks they know the real Gordon Ramsay: rude, loud, pathologically driven, stubborn as hell.
Now, for the first time, the world's most famous—and infamous—chef tells the inside story of his life: his difficult childhood, his father's alcoholism and violence, his brother's heroin addiction, his short-circuited soccer career, and his fanatical pursuit of gastronomic perfection—everything that helped mold him into the culinary talent and media powerhouse that he is today. He also dishes the dirt on the rich and famous, and takes you behind the scenes of some of the great restaurants.
Honest, outrageous, and intensely personal, Roasting in Hell's Kitchen will not only change your perception of Gordon Ramsay but that of the cutthroat world of haute cuisine as well.

Brilliant.......2007-10-20
I am useless in the kitchen, but I was addicted to this guy's story for overcoming obstacles and achieving greatness. His drive, competitiveness, intolerance for mediocrity, and relentless pursuit of excellence is an inspiration to any business person! I have told all my friends to read or listen to this and they all loved it.
There's more to Gordon than meets the eye.......2007-10-18
This is Gordon Ramsay's life story in his own words. He's had an eventful life and his success has come from hard work and smart decisions. His father was an unpleasant man who was often absent from the family home (when he wasn't beating his wife or moving the family across the country) and it is interesting to contrast how very differently his two sons have turned out. While Gordon is highly driven and has been hugely successful, his brother has become a drop out and a drug addict.
Gordon credits much of his success to the advice and support that he has received from his father-in-law and I found it quite moving how he has secured an alternative father figure in his life.
This is a well written and involving book which really captures the man behind the image - and he is very different in many ways from the man that you think you know from Hell's Kitchen. This book could have been a little shorter - it loses some momentum in the second half - but it's still very good. If you enjoy Hell's Kitchen or just reading about life behind the scenes in the restaurant industry, I recommend this book.
Great Book!.......2007-10-17
If you've been enjoying Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, you will love this book. It tells a very interesting story of how Gordon Ramsey managed to get to where he is today.
Great Insight into Chef Ramsay's Life.......2007-10-17
Ok - I'm a fan of Chef Ramsay. I've seen all 3 years of Hell's Kitchen and I'm currently watching the Kitchen Nightmare series. The man definitely knows what he is talking about. He is direct, abrasive, and doesn't suffer fools. But his advice and assessment of other's skills is usually "spot on."
I truely respect Ramsay's eye for detail and perfectionism. But I wish he'd brush up a little on his people skills. Read this book, which is pretty much an autobiography, and you'll get a little understanding of what made him who he is and why he is so driven. He had a pretty crappy childhood and that could've made him a bit jaded. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this book is for the numerous profanities -is the "F" word really an agjective, verb and noun? If his vocabulary was as professional as his food service skills, I'd have given this book 5 stars!
If you are in the food service industry, you can learn a few things from the master Chef. If you just want to know more about Gordon Ramsay the man, this book is very insightful.

Those who find their equanimity challenged by the lucubrations of William F. Buckley Jr. will surely see their torpor evanesce after reading The Lexicon. Monosyllabically: if it bugs you when you read words you don't know, this book will help. Buckley is renowned (and sometimes unfairly reviled) for his extensive working vocabulary, from which he unerringly picks the right word for every occasion. The Lexicon is a pocket guide to his esoterica with several hundred entries, each concisely defined and accompanied by an example of its use from his writings, which is quite a handy feature. For example:
lucubrate (verb) To discourse learnedly in writing.
Under the Eisenhower program, one could lucubrate over constitutional rights and freedoms and forever abandon captured American soldiers.
It is a sign of his skill as a writer that the book may be read for pleasure. Illustrations by Arnold Roth add to the enjoyment, making this the perfect introduction to Buckleyian erudition. --Rob Lightner

This boon to logophiles, culled from Buckley: The Right Word, presents the author’s most erudite, outré, and interesting words - from prehensile and sciolist to rubric and histrionic - complete with definitions, examples, and usage notes. A Real Treasure.......2005-07-06
This witty, neat little book is the perfect gift for word-lovers of all ages. I am a college professor, and a published author, and this book has really helped me in my writing. If only I could speak as well as Buckley does...
utterly usable,licentious miscibles of miso-communist.......2001-09-08
Buckley has fashioned yet another utterly usable list stoppage, badinage of detritus waiting in abeyance for the vagaries of postmodernities force fields to scour through yet another product emanation from an impeccable vainglorious watchdog for the Ruling Classes. The predictable augurs, tail wagging, arbiter elegantiae, his indolence doesn't quite proceed to the corruptible USA Senators. We have provincial sentence examples of humorous references to the rogues gallery of the communist world but his spleen venting abruptly halts itself at the shores of the Potomac. I can see/envisioned Buckley's upbeat brow turned upwards,ad spasmistaie towards the heavens, fully content with his own conceit, his odious animus against all that doesn't strike, agree, conspire congruently with capitalistic content, its resonant free world peel of greed bells.
Word of the Day Webmaster Cautiously Recommends.......2001-07-30
When it comes to the English language William F. Buckley is an epicurean extraordinaire and "The Lexicon" is a must for any committed logophile. Still a few caveats must be undulated
Some of the words included are as quizzical as some of those that are omitted. Alphabetically, the reference runs from "abattoir" to "xenophobia"--which seems a strange place to stop. Why there is no inclusion of "yokefellow" or "yaw" nor "zaftig" or "zeitgeist" is enigmatic at best. A second anomaly is that certain definitions differ from what is found my copy of "Webster's Encyclopedic Unabridged Dictionary." Mr. Buckley identifies "promulgate" as "to issue a new law or regulation;" Webster's definition says "to make known by open declaration...(or) to set forth or teach publicly." For "synecdoche" Mr. Buckley offers "the single example in place of the whole; the one for the many." Webster is more encompassing with "a figure of speech in which the part is used for the whole or the whole for a part." Webster's says that "kedge" means "to wrap or pull...(or) a small anchor," while Buckley's related but contrasting explanation reads "to anchor securely." As with ALL vocabulary sources, check the definition in a dictionary before using the word!
While not terribly detrimental Mr. Buckley pleonastically includes more than one form of several words. The use of both "intrinsic" and "intrinsically," "mollify" and mollifying," "invidious" and "invidiously," "stultification and stultifying" among many other double versions comes across as a rebarbative padding device--completely unnecessary in a collection this tumescent.
While the incorporation of words such as "salient," "levity," "obtrude," "junket" and a handful of other less than exotic choices is debatable, the assumption that some readers will be unacquainted with them is not quixotic. However, selecting "plainspoken" for placement within such a gallimaufry is truly outlandish. It seems highly doubtful that anyone unfamiliar with such a quotidian word would have the need for such an abstruse vocabulary primer.
Despite these minor to moderate drawbacks, this book is unreservedly recommended for those interested in elevating their speaking prowess. For three years I have been operating a "Word of the Day" email service/webpage (sent me a message if you wish to join) and "The Lexicon" boasted a plethora of specimens that I had never before encountered. So while all my above comments are valid, they are nugatory distractions compared to the numinous lagniappes that can be acquired from a perusal or two.
Fantastic book for word lovers.......2000-07-25
This is THE book to have if you love English. There are wonderful examples of each word included. It's nice little size make it easy to take with you. The only reason it didn't get five stars from me is that it lacks the pronunciation of each word. Some you can guess, others, well, you better have a good dictionary on hand!

There's still POWER in his words.......2003-01-04
Born after his death on the opposite side of Pacific, I cannot clearly imagine what America had been like during administration of JFK.
Soviet Union threatning US with nuclear missiles stationed in Cuba. Black young men actually denied to enter his university. West Berlin in blockade. Ok, it's impossible for us to compare difficulties of those with the threats today's US faces but for sure the one of JFK's can never have been easy.
One of the greatest abilities (personalities) in JFK is to encourage people, in their difficult times, with his absolute power, vitality and sincereity of abundance. As Sorensen pointed out, perhaps sometimes his words conveyed messages of what was beyond or above people, couldn't be achieved as it's simply too difficult.
Nevertheless in my opinion, statesmen have to tell LONG vision, things people don't want to hear but need to while politicians merely telling what people want to hear. He's supposed to have made "a step" in many subjects, which later leads to one "thousand miles" as he always said.
Recently I watched movie "13 days" and, very impressed with his decisiveness, I just happened to want to go through his speeches all over again to have bumped into this book on Amazon.com. With it in mind that the author, Ted Sorensen, was a speech writer of JFK, I believed this was the one. I wasn't wrong.
The book is very organized, subject by subject, which makes it easy to find what you need in this book although I read this from cover to cover. With statements and interviews included, let alone all important speeches, you can have a clear picture for creeds of JFK's.
Far more complicated and different as is the current world, simple and direct application of his wisdom might be not so realistic but, again, his power, vitality, sincerity and whatever are all in this book, which definitely moved world citizens at that time, and for sure could, in our time.
It might be different from reader to reader or from his social position to position, what impression you'll have from this book. One thing for sure is you'll find SOMETHING impressive, this I guarantee.
I, for one, am proud of this book being in my shelf from now on. Unfortunatelly the book seems to be out of stock for now, so just pick it up in market place, hard-cover version recommended, it endures.
A Career, A Society, and How We Have Changed........2000-12-04
Whether you love John F. Kennedy or hate him, "Let the Word Go Forth" is a rewarding read for anyone interested in the 35th President or the America from which we are not very far removed. This book consists of excerpts from over 100 speeches made by John F. Kennedy during his political life. These is not a collection of quotations but a public career as portrayed in largely and totally complete speeches and statements. In these pages we are reminded of the lofty ideals, the wit and, a bit of the parochial politician which was John F. Kennedy.
For me, much of the value in this book lies not in what it tells us of Kennedy, but what it tells us about the country in which he lived. The things which were said, and which did not need to be said, and the language used tell us of an America different from the one in which we live today. To illustrate this I will discuss four of the speeches.
We begin with the Inaugural Address, probably Kennedy's most famous statement. The speech, which gave us several remembered lines, the most famous of which is "Ask not what your country can do for you,-ask what you can do for your country" is most notable for what it does not say. Read this speech from start to finish and you will find no mention of social security, health care, education, poverty, civil rights, highways or any of the domestic concerns which have held such center stage in recent public debate. It deals exclusively of foreign policy. What President since Kennedy would start his administration which such a challenge?
The second speech to which I would direct the reader's attention is the address to the Houston Ministerial Alliance on September 12, 1960. The purpose of the speech was to refute allegations that a Catholic would have a divided loyalty or would be subject to orders from the church hierarchy. The way in which Kennedy responded to the problem is felt by many to have done a great disservice to Catholic politicians. It is believed that Kennedy established the standard that, in order to be considered for office, Catholic candidates must establish that their religious beliefs will not be a factor in their decision making process. At the end of the speech, Kennedy was specifically confronted with a request that he request approval from the Vatican for his statement supporting the separation of church and state. What politician since then has been confronted with such a question?
The third speech to be considered is entitled "The City Upon a Hill" and was given to the Massachusetts legislature on January 9, 1961. In this speech Kennedy draws on the history of Massachusetts in establishing the code of conduct for those serving the Commonwealth. He lists four questions by which public servants will be judged: "were we men of courage...were we men of judgement...were we truly men of integrity...were we men of dedication." As one reads these stirring question with their elaborations, a realization dawns on the reader: There were no women in the Massachusetts legislature in 1961. I am sure that the wording would be different today.
The last speech which I would suggest for consideration is the acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention, entitled "The Opening of the New Frontier." I bring this speech up because of the oft stated lament that the public is losing its sense of history, its ability to relate current conditions to conditions of the past in order to help us separate the principle from the pragmatism and the important from the trivial. In that speech, the nominee tells his listeners: "just as historians tell us that Richard I was not fit to fill the shoes of bold Henry II-and that Richard Cromwell was not fit to wear the mantle of his uncle {sic}-they might add in future years that Richard Nixon did not measure to the footsteps of Dwight D. Eisenhower." Overlooking the fact that Richard Cromwell succeeded his father and not his uncle, what contemporary candidate would trust his listeners to understand the reference to long gone English leaders? Is it the draining of the general fund of knowledge of our citizens which has lowered the level of our public discourse from the deep, rich speech of the Kennedy era to the shallow sound bites of today?
At the conclusion of "Let the Word Go Forth" one has a greater respect for the communication skills of our 35th President and an appreciation for the things which we, as a society have gained, and a longing for the things which we have lost.

As a graduate from Bible college I can assure you that this lexicon is excellent for those with no knowledge of the greek. It is easily laid out and is well worth the price
Vine's Complete Expository - An Excellent Reference .......2006-09-16
The most significant biblical words are illustrated by Scripture passages, comments, cross-references, ancient and modern meanings, precise etymologies, historical notes, and clearly defined technical information.
Each original language is indexed, and the addition of a topical index allows you to access all the dictionary entries pertinent to specific New Testament ideas and teachings.
This is an essential reference source for all Bereans.
Good.......2006-07-26
It does a good job on the Greek words (New Testament) then on the Hebrew words (Old Testament, so I took 1 star away for that. But over all it's a good book & good to have in your library.
Old standard, now surpassed.......2006-07-01
I hate to give this dictionary only 2 stars because it has been the most helpful word study tool for those who do not know the original Biblical languages. But it has now been surpassed by
Mounce's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words (William Mounce).
It is more accurate and thorough than Vine's.
Stephen D. Renn's Expository Dictionary of Bible Words and Lawrence Richards' New International Encyclopedia of Bible Words can also be helpful. But they are less thorough than Vine's, let alone Mounce's.
Other helpful tools for word study include:
Interlinear for the Rest of Us (William Mounce), which includes a Greek-English dictionary.
Word Study Greek-English New Testament (Paul McReynolds), which has a very useful concordance based on Greek words.
Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words.......2006-03-27
Vine's Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words is a good tool to use in conjunction with a concordance to help deepen your understanding of the Bible. It is a great reference tool.

Book Description
Let Every Nation Know is the first book of its kind-a historical biography in Kennedy's own words. Combining a remarkable audio CD with the insights of two of America's preeminent historians, the result is a unique look at the world-changing words and presidency of John F. Kennedy.
In the thousand days of his presidency, John F. Kennedy spoke about many of the enduring concerns of our union. His optimism, personal strength and far-reaching vision helped guide the nation through crisis, spoke to the dreams of its people and for a too brief moment guided America into the future.
From the author of the #1 bestselling biography An Unfinished Life, Robert Dallek, and the author of Washington's General, Terry Golway, Let Every Nation Know, is a book unlike any other. With an audio CD that includes 32 speeches, debates and interviews that forge a fresh portrait of John F. Kennedy and his presidency, this is a singular experience.

Eloquent, But Hard to Comprehend.......2007-09-24
Robert Dallak and Terry Goldway bring to life masterfully in Kennedy's own words a portrait of an age with a president that was young but gifted politician. From the "Ask Not" Speech to the speech of the Berlin Wall, Kennedy's voice enhances the masterful biography of all Kennedy's charm, love of words, and deep, moral conscience. To me, it brings back the era when the world was on nuclear hair-trigger alert, the press was oppressing, and CIA secrets were gossip for the public. However, I do not think middle school students should read this book because the words of kennedy are still to deep to grasp at this age. The words of Kennedy cut deep into this nation's very soul, and continues to do so.
Perhaps the best of all the books on JFK.......2007-07-18
This was the kind of book that once I started reading I couldn't put down. I finished it very quickly.
I was five years old when he was killed. He was the first President I remember first hand. I remember that in Kindergarden we were told that President George Washington was the Father of our country. In my five year old mind, I thought JFK was the Father of our country, because he too was President like George Washington. This book gave me a chance to hear in his own words what was going on in a time I barely remember as a young child.
His words still speak to us today. This book for me was what I needed to read at this time to remind me of what is important. We as a country have moved so far away from the vision of JFK and it has inspired me to get back to my roots and to get back on track and to try and get our country back on track.
Let Every Nation Know. JFK in his own words........2007-01-15
A must have book for all age groups interested in the life and times of JFK. To hear the actual speeches of JFK on CD are inspirational and even in this day and age very moving. The book and CD transported me back to that era even though I was 8 at the time and brought back many memories.
An excellent book.Highly recommended.
A political biography honed from John F. Kennedy's own words .......2006-08-19
Here's a unique coverage: a political biography honed from John F. Kennedy's own words blending an audio CD with the insights of two notable historians. From issues ranging from Peace Corps politics to Kennedy's debates before his Presidency and his preparations for war, LET EVERY NATION KNOW proves far more compelling - and provides far more insights - than most.

A Better Time.......2006-08-17
Listening to the accompaning CD is both stimulating and depressing. The literacy and restraint of Kennedy's language so starkly contrasts to what we hear from the current administration. There is much irony as well. In the clip from the debates, Nixon tells the voters that as president he will be a role model for the nation's youth, just as Ike had been. But most depressing is the way this book and CD demonstrate the change in what voters now find persuasive. These are not sound bits or simple messages. These are intelligent and sophisticated speeches. These speeches suggest that Kennedy assumed that the voters were intelligent and that he respected their intelligence. Compare that to the current, simplistic messages that accuse opponents of being in league with al Qaeda. While Nixon was no stranger to the simplistic attack, it is striking to listen to his language and compare it to the current Republican leadership. To suggest that an early time was better is almost a cliche, but when you read and listen to these speeches the evidence seems overwhelming. This was a time when many of our leaders spoke with eloquence and addressed complex issues (Stevenson, Dirkson, Mansfield, Nelson Rockefeller, Robert Kennedy, and many others). More importantly, the voters seemed to actually listen to these speeches. There are great lessons in this modest volume.

2ND BEST.......2007-07-30
THIS IS THE 2ND BEST OF ALL WEDDING BOOKS FOR A MINISTER. THE 1ST IS THE BAKER'S WEDDING HANDBOOK. I PURCHASED 15 BOOKS AND WAS WORRIED BUT THESE 2 BOOKS ARE THE ONLY ONES I USE FOR MY WEDDINGS. THEY MADE IT EASY AND LESS STRESS. THANK YOU!
I'm a minister, and I think it's a great resource for couples or pros. .......2006-10-17
This is a great book for both couples and wedding ceremony officiants. This book, The Wedding Ceremony Planner by Rev. Judith Johnson, and Diane Warner's Complete Book of Wedding Vows, comprise a nice starter bookshelf for a wedding officiant.
This book has a number of complete ceremonies, numerous vows, readings, and worksheets. It's a great resource for a couple starting to plan their ceremony. Even the "traditional" ceremonies are a little non-traditional. Very nice.
Best Buy Ever!.......2006-09-15
My fiance and I had a friend marry us, so we had to come up with our own ceremony. We didn't want to write it ourselves, but we didn't want a cookie-cutter religious ceremony either. This book was the answer we were looking for. I bought many books, but ended up only using this one. It's extremely well organized, and even comes with worksheets!
It's organized by type of ceremony you want (i.e. traditional religious, contemporary non-religious, quick, second time around), and this was perfect for us. The readings, vows, and everything in that section ended up being exactly what we were looking to say. We read through the whole book to make sure other selections in other sections weren't better, but we always ended up loving what was in the section for the type of wedding we wanted. The people who did this book have impecable taste.
This book focuses on love, commitment, and in some cases religion without being cheesy or overdone. They have all the classic wedding things you'd expect (such as Corinthians for readings), but they also add readings that are less traditional, but equally romantic and applicable to your ceremony. It has a sense of uniqueness, but still traditional.
I highly recommend this book to anyone doing their own ceremony, or even people who just want to add a little something extra. I couldn't have done my ceremony without it!
Between the organization and taste, this book was really well done. It was such a relief that they organized it by ceremony type (and then by type in the back, such as readings, vows, ring vows), so you're not feeling lost reading through 100 different readings and hating all of them. This is a bride must-have!
GREAT BOOK!!!.......2006-06-13
I am in the process of planning my wedding and Marty's book is wonderful!!! It helped my fiance and I to create a ceremony that is unique to us-from beginning to end. "Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer but the right answer".......2005-12-30
I have read a pile of books and watched a ton of TV about JFK;and I have to put this one right up there with the best of them.It was about 1958 when I first became aware of him.By 1960,I had finished University, and had been working for about a year. What really amazed me was that I was a new engineer of 23, just starting my career and here was this fellow who had spent 4 years in WWII,a Navy Lieutenant Hero from the Pacific, already travelled the world, spent 14 years as a Congressman and Senator;and now at the ripe old age of 43, elected President of the USA,the most powerful in the world with the job of dealing with the Communist threat of world domination...and he's only 18 years older than me.
Although I had been following politics since High School days;my lifelong interest really took off around 1960;and what an interest and roller coaster ride we were in for in the next 4 years, and to a large degree, ever since.
This book captures the JFK I knew, and most of all in his own words. There,s hardly a thing in this book that I don't remember watch happen on TV.I have to agree with the other reviewers that the DVD is fantastic. There is the old idea that a book is better than a movie. Our teachers tried to drill that into us,but they had little success in winning me over."Gone With the Wind","Casablanca",Westerns,War movies;you name it,the movies won me over every time. The same holds here.It is one thing to read the words as JFK spoke them;but listening to him and watching him again brings back the memories, exactly as I remember them.Even these black and white newsreels enhance the power of his words;and it is almost a forgotten thing that there was TV without color. If you tell a kid today that you watched the first man land on the moon,I think it was 1969, on a black and white TV;he'll probably say "Why?".When you say," there was hardly any color TV then";the reply is something like,"Oh?"
JFK captured the audience every time he came in contact with a camera, crowd or audience. In the DVD,there are a couple of shots where he was debating Nixon, who doesn't say a word. That is the way I remember JFK,when he said something, there wasn't much else to say.Everyone loved his press conferences, friend and foe alike;and probably nobody enjoyed them more than himself.I can't think of anyone else in public life that can hold a candle to his improptu wit and humor...and he could do it without being hurtful.I can only imagine what the 'banter' must have been like behind closed doors or with friends on a social basis.Think about times with Sinatra for instance;we'll never know. But oh,the stories that must be told by those who 'knew' him.
I can't recommend this book highly enough to those who lived through the Kennedy years. To those who didn't,this book will give you an idea of what the JFK wisdom and wit was all about.
I think that Kennedy hit the nail on the head about what it means to be President with these words:
"Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer but the right answer."
Herein lies the reason that ,no matter what party the President comes from, the President has to be the President of all the people, and can expect a lot of objection from the other side.It may be too bad but it goes with the territory and the reason Presidents seldom let it bother them.
Excellent.......2005-01-21
Everything about this book is quality from the design, to the paper to the elegant font. It captures the essence of JFK because it's not someone else's memoir or perceptions. This is all JFk in his own words. One quote is particularly striking. Before taking office JFK quotes Lincoln on the subject of fate and purpose as president.
Also, the book includes a DVD filled with remakable and touching images.
THE DVD OF THIS THING IS AMAZING.......2003-10-14
You forget all the things JFK did and said until you read this thing. Wow, it really reminds you. But the best part is the DVD that comes with it which is only probably forty minutes, but it has all this film (color and black and white) of Kennedy. I had always wanted to see him saying "Ich bin ein Berliner!"
In the end, the film of him playing with his son just tears your heart out. The DVD is worth it alone.
