A Frothy Deluxe Dee-lite!.......2006-12-27
This was written when travel was glamorous and these two certainly made the rounds! I was journalling before journalling and scrapbooking became the present rage and enjoyed this book because it was done without the present day pre-fabbed gew-gaws. The sisters took their mother and later the lucky readers through castles and meetings with friends of friends who were high up and taught us how to handle an embarrassing situation of being taken "home" across Paris by a couple who really didn't ant to take them home, Lee did a hilarous entry of her experience at a dance where she danced with a lead-footed man who pointed out his family "all with the same noses!" and Jackie drew herself dancing with a dashing Russian Soldier during the same event. These two had a great approach to life and even their bad days were hilarious adventures. Much is written in French and it delighted my second year French-student daughter then she discovered that she was able to translate for me. After reading this book, you will discover how to have a good time and find the humor in any situation and never leave a sheet of paper or an envelope blank. Jackies' drawings are easy and cute an an inspiration! One of my daughters' teachers borrowed this book from me to show the students that they can make art anywhere about anything!
A Lovely Look Back.......2006-11-12
I own an original copy of this book and it's very special to me. I love that the Bouvier sisters were able to share their experiences through a book like "One Special Summer".
Jackie Style.......2006-11-04
What a refreshing treasure of an illustrated young Jacqueline Bouvier this is as she tours Europe with her sister! This little compilation of sketches and notes denotes an era and a life style, with naivete and flair.
For Jackie Kennedy's fans.......2006-07-31
For those who follow Jackie Kennedy's footsteps since her childhood, it is a fresh, elegant book to complete their collection. For all of us, it gives the taste of our age of innocence.
Send Your Daughters to Europe, by Boat!!!!.......2006-06-26
I bought this book when I was in high school, and after studying the darling illustrations, and reading the story, I soooo longed to travel abroad, particularly by boat; and to mix with all the European dignitaries, socialites, and "Lah De Dahs" from across the pond. Now it's 30 years later, and having traveled quite extensively with my husband I still have that same longing, yet this time for my own daughters! This book and its charming illustrations make you want to send your daughter(s) or sons to Europe and travel amongst the noblesse. However impossible as that may seem to be, the good news is that today, anyone can take the Queen Mary or any number of magnificent ships (QEII available no longer) across the pond and waltz around Europe.
This is a nostalgic peek back into a time long ago; how the well-to-do traveled, socialized, lolly-gagged about, and spent their time, misbehaving and just having an all around good time. It is based on the true summer travel experience of the Bouvier sisters: Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis and her younger sister Lee Bouvier Radziwill. One became a First Lady of the United States, and the other, a Princess by marriage residing in Europe.
I recommend this darling picture book for anyone with a sense of fantacy and longing for high society adventure and travel.

Explicit.......2007-08-23
This book has very explicit information for women whom really want to get the body they've dreamed!!
it's easy to following the instructions...
easy exercise.......2007-08-18
i found this book very easy to follow and especially liked the routine. each day was alittle different and took about 20 minutes to complete.
Disappointing if you already own the previous edition.......2007-07-24
Conflicting information on the same page. On the left column it states that the best time to work out is as soon as you wake up in the morning. But a box in the right column says to avoid weight training right after you wake up and that it may be dangerous to do so. Uh, aren't these workouts 50% weight training?
The nutrition information can best be described as "confusing." It seems to be in no particular order. There are 700-800 calorie protein shake recipes listed right after the guidelines outlining 4-5 small meals per day totaling 1200-1500 calories. One serving of soy per day is recommended for women, but no soy products are mentioned on the food choice lists. Diets for fat loss and muscle gain are provided, but absolutely NO information about maintenance. Worst of all, the authors seem to encourage us to eliminate all fruit from our diets unless we "can't live without them."
The previous edition was much more clearly written. The DVD would be good for someone who has never seen proper form demonstrated. All in all, save your $$$. If you have the previous edition, you will get more from other books and magazines. Definitely look elsewhere for nutrition advice.
Great book if you are a die hard athlete.......2007-07-18
I ended up sending this book back. I just wanted something to help me tone and tighten, but this is more for someone who wants to be really buff. Instead I bought Buff Brides, and mix that up with Pilates. Seems to be working!
Good for beginners.......2007-06-22
If you're new to weight training this is a good book to start. This book includes nutrtion information, and of course, excercises. There are a lot of excercises on machines, which is nice, but I would have been more impressed if there were more things using free-weights or incorporating bosus or balance balls.

5+++.......2007-03-17
Easy read, that helps make so much sense after coming out of an abusive marriage. It helps to make sense of the situation and how one might have gotten their- without the blame. If you were ever abused, mentally, physically, emotionally, this is a book for you.
A must read for anyone who has experienced domestic violence.......2006-03-01
I could not put this book down, I carried it with me everywhere it helped me regain my sanity after a very abusive relationship.
A brilliant read - you will find yourself on every page. You are not alone. An important book for recovery.
This book is like a best friend with real answers.......2005-06-23
To begin with, I did not know I was in an abusive relationship, until my friend mentioned to me the word 'emotional abuse'. I researched on the topic and found a lot of great information on the subject. The one thing I didn't find was WHAT THE HECK TO DO after you leave the abusive relationship.
I read "Why Does He Do That" by Lundy, and it was great..I got into the mind of my tormentor. My experience was a bit different, since my abuser left ME!!! it was a double slap in the face, and just another way he walked all over me...I learned that from this book. After reading so much about the abuser and victim, you begin to feel a sense of desolation. But Dugan's book focuses on YOU.
Dugan examines all the cliches associated with a post-abusive relationship, even talks about our friends' roles in our new life. She sympathizes with our feelings, and goes even further toward making you sympathize with your own feelings (something you could never do in an abusive relationship).
Therefore, I highly recommend this book to anyone, anywhere suffering the pain of loss. The author truly understands the victim's feelings, and leaves the abuser by the way side (as he should be). There's a reason this book is called "It's My Life Now" and very appropriately.
This book kept me sane........2005-04-13
This book was a life-line for me right after I left my husband. I never thought that I could be in an abusive relationship. I am educated, strong and smart. But I was. This book helped me to deal with accepting it and to heal. It's the only book I recommend to anyone who thinks they might be in an abusive relationship.

Not worth it..........2007-05-20
There are other ways of getting the very basic information that is in this book. Save your money.
Competitors, not regular Janes........2007-04-22
This was an interesting read- it does have alot of good and interesting information- but it seems more geared toward someone getting into figure competitions than your average Jane looking just to get healthy and not hide under a towel in her bathing suit. So if you're serious about competing- give it a read. If you're looking for a general fitness book- pass on this one. MHO.
don't buy this book.......2004-01-23
This book is so dumb- unless you are a super beginner, then maybe you could pick up some lifitng tips. It wastes time with junk like applying your makeup and getting plastic surgery- even if you do want to read about these things, it displays it in the most basic format.
This book was a waste of money!!!
I don't recomend it at all!!! It did nothing for my motivation and I didn't learn anything I didn't already know or found interesting.
Check out body for life and eating for life for some good stuff :)
A BIG boost of fitness advice and motivation!!.......2003-08-20
First of all, WOW, this book is HUGE! There are over 500 pages of fitness advice, photos, and motivation. It begins with a breakdown of equipment, including safety equipment. One thing I enjoy is it also goes into the physiology of how the body works and how it is affected by what we do with it. It has chapters for beginning strength routines, and also intermediate and advanced, so you can grow with this book, which is really nice. There are also separate chapters for each of the specific muscle groups. Name it, it's in here. Cardio, nutrition....even information on fitness careers and taking it to the competitive level. The nutrition section goes into vitamins and other nutrients as well as womens' health issues. I really enjoyed the chapters "Staying Motivated" and "Getting in Shape Doesn't Have to be Boring", because let's face it, losing motivation can be a killer to keeping up a fitness regimine. Throughout the book are photos of the beautiful fitness pros you see in Oxygen Magazine, I find these ladies to be very motivating to look at. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like Oxygen Magazine. The authors show both knowledge and sensibility, and it is very motivating and well balanced.
Book Description
Letitia Baldrige is the woman best known as Jackie Kennedy's social secretary during the White House years. But in this fascinating memoir Baldrige reveals a career sparkling with a host of other achievements: embassy work in an era when women rarely were given jobs overseas, becoming the first female executive at Tiffany & Co., and founding one of the first companies run by a female CEO. In her amazing life story Baldrige shares her perspective as a White House insider: the hilarity of young Jackie's antics on foreign diplomatic visits, the terror of the Cuban missile crisis, and the heartbreak of President Kennedy's funeral. Stylish, chic and always polite, Baldrige reveals the determination that has made her a success and brought her the admiration of women around the world.

Review of shipping: Beware of buying this book from Amazon...........2007-03-18
I placed my order for this book on Jan 28th, and it said it would be here around March 23 (which I thought was too long, but was willing to wait). Today I got an e-mail saying it would be further delayed and will not arrive until May 9th! This looks like a lovely book, but you're better off getting it at your local bookstore! :)
A Pleasure, and a Surprise.......2006-08-05
I've always enjoyed Ms. Baldridge's books, and this was no exception. I was expecting, knowing nothing about it beforehand, that it would be yet more nostalgia about the Kennedy White House. Thankfully, it wasn't. That period of her life occupied part of the book, but not even the major part. Actually, I enjoyed most the part about her time working for Tiffany & Co. It's great bedside reading.
Terrific! .......2006-05-29
I had this on my shelf for several years before finally reading it--and now I regret waiting so long! This is a captivating story told by someone uniquely placed in several high-level positions: aid to David & Evangeline Bruce in France; aid to Clare Booth Luce and Henry Luce in Italy; and chief of staff to Jackie Kennedy. In addition to this, Ms. Baldrige was the first woman executive at Tiffany's, and held a high level position at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. But what really endears her to the reader is Ms. Baldrige's way of telling hilarious stories on herself--the things that go askew during a dinner party, for example. She took her work very seriously, but is modest enough to tell stories on herself that can make one dissolve in laughter. I came away from this book with a higher appreciation of all that she has done. She is very likeable!

Thanks
Class from the past!.......2003-07-02
Oh! how I wish I had a life like Tish Baldridge's! She is a gutsy and classy lady and I admire her for that. I loved to read that book because it goes to show that dreams come true when we put the energy and efforts for them to materialize.
Book Description
You Can Thrive–Not Just Survive–in An Unequally Yoked Marriage
Marriage is challenging, even under the best of circumstances. But for those of us whose husbands don’t believe or are not growing spiritually, marriage brings difficulties unlike those faced by other women of faith.
If you love a man who is not committed to Christ, you may feel frustrated, guilty, or anxious; discouraged and lonely. You likely worry about how your husband’s beliefs–or lack of them–will affect your children. Perhaps you, like so many women, have tried to “help” your husband find or deepen his relationship with God–only to find that you have, unbelievably, pushed him farther away. You may be wondering, “What do I do now?” Or, worse, you may have lost all hope. God is still in control.
Speaking from experience, Nancy Kennedy offers biblical truth, practical help, and comforting insight from women who have walked in your shoes–and who have come to better trust God and more fully understand what to do (and what not to do) When He Doesn’t Believe.
INCLUDES THOUGHT-PROVOKING DISCUSSION QUESTIONS, STUDY AND APPLICATION TOOLS, AND POINTS TO PONDER AT THE END OF EACH CHAPTER–
TO BE USED WITH YOUR PRAYER PARTNER, SMALL GROUP, OR ON YOUR OWN!

A Must have for those of faith feeling alone .......2007-08-28
This is a wonderful book. I am reading it again and I just love how comforting it is. Many practicle Godly advice.
This book gave me hope!.......2007-02-03
When my husband left the faith, I thought my life and my marriage were over! This book helped me see how to work through this enormous struggle, and covered every topic I had trouble with, from attending church alone to raising spiritual children. Every day that I read from this book, I treated my husband with more kindness. Now that I have finished reading it, I think I will probably have to read it over and over every day so that I don't give up. It is amazing how Nancy practially read my mind and had an answer to all of my questions (and the answers are backed with scripture!) I highly recommend this book to any woman who feels "alone in her faith."
like talking to a friend.......2006-07-23
At this point, I don't know anyone that I can talk to about being a believing wife to an unbelieving husband. When I open the book, it's like I'm hearing from a good friend. God has given her the gift of being able to help me get out of self-pity, and turn to the One who can lead me through everyday life with my family. No more 'what-if's', this is my life. What is God's purpose as He takes me through it? I am called to love. Love is the greatest challenge, whether you are married to someone who shares your faith or not. I highly recommend this book for the encouragment and objectivenes she is able to deliver.
Just what I needed.......2004-05-19
I love Nancy's humorous style, combined with her wisdom and wonderful perspective. I just keep reading my copy over and over. Many great Bible verses quoted throughout which help encourage the reader.
This book is EXCELLENT for ALL women........2004-04-04
This book is EXCELLENT for all women. I use to wish I could find a book that told me why my husband acted or thought the way he did. I finally found it in Nancy's book. I bought this book for a friend whose husband is not a Christian. As I started reading through it I could hardly put it down. I begin to learn where I as a wife with a Christian husband was making my own mistakes. We grow up believing that men and women are basically the same. We hear it on TV and movies and even from "the Experts", but Nancy points out how we think very differently about things. She explains many times "the saved wife" goes about the wrong way trying to convert her husband. Nancy teaches us (ALL OF US), how to allow GOD to do the work that WE are trying to do. It really is a "MUST READ" for all Christian women. Whether you are married to an unbeliever or not, this book will be of GREAT benefit for any wife.

Andy Warhol would have approved of close friend Lee Radziwill's autobiographical picture book, Happy Times. A sort of postmodern photographic journal crossed with a lovey Hello! spread, Radziwill's book offers a visually lush, mildly gossipy, somewhat surreal document--solely in photographs and brief reminiscences--of the younger Bouvier sister's unique brand of celebrity. As Radziwill explains in her introduction, friends had urged her to write a biography for years, but she felt doing so would "involve me in too many other lives." So she opted for a biography that focuses only on her "happy times" (hence the book title), and these, she says, happened mostly in the 1960s. The resulting slim volume is essentially a collection of gorgeous photographs, scattered haphazardly like a scrapbook, interspersed with Radziwill's selective memories and little handwritten comments. With a somewhat unconvincing naiveté ("memories should be of happy times"), each chapter is devoted to a particular "happy time" but in no special order. We have summers in Montauk with Mick and Bianca, Christmas with the young Kennedy family, a tour of India with her sister Jackie, whole chapters devoted to each of Radziwill's many exotic homes.
Assuming the reader knows most of the big events of her life, Radziwill offers little in the way of context of these happy times, and it's this element that ultimately gives the project a surreal, celebrity-by-association feel. You wonder why you're reading this random assemblage of country-house photos and memories of Truman Capote; or, considering so much of the book is taken up by photos of the Kennedys, why you should especially care about Lee Radziwill. But it isn't without its charm, and as you flip through the book, Radziwill's breathless gratitude for her own good fortune becomes contagious. The book's final chapter, hand-drawn by Lee and sister Jackie in 1951, documents a summer trip to Europe. An odd inclusion but ultimately fascinating, it's the essence of Happy Times: you're not exactly sure what you're looking at, or why--but isn't it lovely? --Marisa Lencioni, Amazon.co.uk
Book Description
Leafing through a wealth of private photo albums and personal archives, Lee Radziwill offers a unique perspective of happy times: from the first trip to Europe and the Bouvier sisters to fond memories of Christmas in Palm Beach with President Kennedy, from her years in London to summer days in Conca, Lee Radziwill has enjoyed a very colorful and successful life. She brings alive, with humor and feeling, privileged moments with family and friends. Happy Times is the credo of a lady who, having witnessed historical moments and shared the lives of characters struck by fate, has made the deliberate choice of only remembering what's beautiful. Through anecdotes and pictures, personal notes and drawings, Happy Times offers readers a very personal perspective on a highly publicized life.

Charming, insightful, splendid.......2006-06-23
Filled with hidden treasures. I knew the "format" of this book before purchasing it so I was not suprised that it was not in a traditional biographical layout - it is more like spending a long weekend with a friend of a friend sharing memories, insights, hopes and dreams and then packing up and heading home. I just loved it. She has a very deep understanding of the importance of nurturing children and one line in this book (which I will let you discover for yourselves) is more impactful than a roomfull of "self-help" books - amazing how she just slips it in. Lovely.
Odd but compelling.......2006-05-09
Having read IN HER SISTER'S SHADOW and knowing of Lee's past ventures, this seems to be the most successful of them. She has the rich lady's talent of putting together Louis XV rooms and arranging flowers, and she definitely has a wealth of pictures to cull from, but I thought she chose an odd lot to include here! And I wonder why some were enlarged while other lovely pictures (such as she and Tina on a Moroccan-looking bed) were so miniscule that you barely noticed them. (I've since seen the picture enlarged in DOMINO magazine, and it's mesmerizing). The book is indeed what she chooses to remember (though it's confusing to see how she could include pictures of Anthony without a little loving note to his memory--I suppose she prefers to remember the happy times when he was alive). I thought the pictures of John Kennedy were boring (I've seen these types 1000 times), but I loved the ones of Lee and Jackie on Christmas morning. They were glorious! I liked her inclusion of a page from her guest book (should be more of this kinda stuff), and I liked her pictures in couture through the years. But you do get the feeling that she's a little self-centered because everything was Lee, Lee, Lee. I loved the pictures of the interiors of her homes and the Italian home and the baptismal pictures. But I think the editing could have been a lot better, and I would've liked more commentary from Lee. Pictures from her brief acting stint would've been interesting too. Still, you will like this book if you love to look through photo albums and decorating magazines and Vogue. That's the feeling it gives you. The best part is the black and white pictures of Lee and Jackie (and their children). There's also a great picture of Lee going to a theater production of COCO in a great suit with her hair up. She is very pretty and the gloss comes through in the pictures. But some better choices could certainly have been made, IMO. I have bought and given away the book TWICE and am fixing to buy it again! I wish it would go to the "bargain books" section so I could buy more for gifts!
Lee Radziwill Happy Times - Surprisingly Enjoyable.......2002-01-25
I have to confess to being an addict to all things Kennedy and Jackie, especially. I bought this thinking it would be loaded with Jackie information, previously unknown. Well, I was wrong, but in the process I believe I got a truer image of her younger sister. I always had envisioned Lee living entirely, and jealously in her sister's shadow. It appears to me that after reading this book that we have done this woman a disservice. She has led a fabulous life in her own right. English estates, Beach Houses, cruising on Yachts. I found it interesting and I noted that Lee seems to have pretty impressive taste herself and was a little more conservative. (The Philadelphia Story Years notwithstanding) I was pleasantly surprised. I think it's time we allowed this woman her own space. Imagine being compared to your sister the First Lady for over half your life!
It's not supposed to be about Jackie!.......2001-11-20
You have to like, or at least be interested in Lee Radziwill in order to appreciate this book. You have to realize that it's a Lee Radziwill book, not a Jackie book, or a Kennedy book, or even a Truman Capote/ socialite circle book. Its title suits it perfectly. This book represents what we'd all like to have one day: a sparkling documentation of the happy times of our lives with no mention of, in Lee Radziwill's case, the considerable bad times. It's unfair to criticize this book for what it never was meant to be.
If you've read the DuBois biography, you will recognize a lot in this book. Unfortunately the DuBois biography focuses exclusively on the negative, documenting every last derogatory comment anyone ever made about Lee Radziwill. I think Happy Times proves that Lee Radzwill is far more graceful than the world seems to think.
This is a beautiful book. Great photography, creative format, interesting narrative. A real treasure!
Pretty, Happy pictures of Pretty, Happy people.......2001-10-18
While this may not enhance your literacy, it is a beautifully put-together photo collection of a nostalgic period in our nation's history: the collective love-affair with the Kennedy family. Dress up that coffee table in Martha's Vineyard with this one.
Book Description
Designed specifically for undergraduate students, Issues in Intimate Violence provides a comprehensive and accessible anthology that prepares the foundation for understanding a wide range of violence that commonly occurs in families and between intimates. This collection of 22 scholarly yet readable chapters represents a variety of disciplines from both a theoretical and an applied approach. Many articles offer a feminist perspective that addresses the gendered nature of violence and the consequences of power inequality in our society. Created to make learning about intimate violence an accessible and cohesive process, each section is introduced by editor Raquel Kennedy Bergen and concludes with discussion questions.
A variety of violence topics are included:
- Violence in heterosexual dating relationships
- Violence in gay and lesbian relationships
- Acquaintance rape
- Wife abuse and wife rape
- Elder abuse
While primarily directed to undergraduate students, this book is also well-suited for similar courses at the graduate level and will appeal to anyone working with survivors of intimate violence as well as the interested lay reader.
Book Description
As her own words prove well, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis could be at times funny, buoyant, candid, irreverent, and of course poignant, too. This collection of quotes shares her thoughts on marriage, family, political life and ambition, publicity, privacy, and more as she confided them to intimate friends, family, and interviewers alike.
Memories of her childhood, her love for Jack, her children and grandchildren, the Kennedys, her often misunderstood marriage to Aristotle Onassis, her years as a widow, and her later companionship with Maurice Tempelsman are all represented here, as are some rather remarkable correspondences with the Johnsons, the Nixons, and the Khrushchevs.
A sampling of her wit and wisdom:
- "I was a tomboy. I decided to learn to dance and I became feminine."
- "Well, I think my biggest achievement is that, after going through a rather difficult time, I consider myself comparatively sane."
- "When Harvard men say they have graduated from Radcliffe, then we've made it."
- "If Jack proved to be the greatest president of the century and his children turned out badly, it would be a tragedy."
Forty years ago, when the nation was coming out from under a period of mourning, Bill Adler edited The Kennedy Wit and in so doing helped the world remember a man and a president, not just a sorrowful event. To commemorate the tenth anniversary of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's death, he has edited yet another book of quotes celebrating life -- this time the life of Jackie.
The accompanying DVD documentary is considered by many to be the definitive film biography of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and was produced by CBS News Productions for Arts & Entertainment Network.

This book paints a picture of a person, using very brief quotes and anecdotes categorized by topic. One can pick this book up and read something which reveals the inner character of Jackie O.
A charming book about a grand lady.......2004-05-29
Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy was without a doubt one of America?s most admired first ladies and that is the major theme of this book. Although the book - a collection of quotes taken from a variety of sources, mostly interviews given by Mrs. Kennedy - spans her lifetime, a good portion is devoted to Jackie?s roles as the young wife of Senator John F. Kennedy and as the Nation?s First Lady.
In order to fully appreciate some of the late Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis?s comments about her roles as a woman/wife/mother and widow, it is important to bring up the historical context. The Kennedy Administration, ?Camelot,? took place amid turbulent times: widespread civil and racial unrest, the Cold War and the Cuban Missile Crisis, and escalating involvement in the Vietnamese conflict. The women?s movement was then in its infancy and it is against this backdrop that the Kennedy?s acquired mythical, almost magical qualities.
?Jack and Jackie were America?s royal couple,? writes Bill Adler in his introduction to The Eloquent Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis; A Portrait in Her Own Words. The quotes provide a window into her childhood, life with JFK and her role as First Lady, then widowhood, followed by her marriage to Aristotle Onassis, her work as book editor for both Viking Publishers and Doubleday, and final years. One section deals with the assassination, ?Jack was the love of my life. No one will ever know a big part of me died with him.?
A common thread that runs throughout is her great love of, and reliance on, the family. Jackie?s life revolved around those she loved the most, her husband and her children, Caroline and John Jr. ?Raising children is the best thing I?ve ever done,? she declared.
For those of us who lived through the sixties and are old enough to remember where we were when we heard that the President of the United States had been mortally wounded by an assassin?s bullet, this tiny giant of a book will help to fan the flames of remembrance by highlighting the ?beauty, grace and intelligence Jacqueline Kennedy brought to the White House,? the country, and the world.

Shiloh shepherd story.......2007-09-10
This is one of the most heartwarming stories I have read. I will be looking to get a shiloh shepherd in the future. A must read book.
Growth of the Shiloh Shepherd in the Dog World.......2007-08-01
As our family searched the web and library books for a dog to replace the two beloved "mutts" who had passed on after a good long life, we stumbled across references to the Shiloh Shepherd.
Without much effort we came across Tina's website as well as some of her licenced breeders. The brains, brawn and beauty of what we saw and read left nothing else but for us to buy the book, and learn as much as we could about the founder of this breed.
Needless to say, the story is motivating, at times heartbreaking, insightful, and a story that had to be told as the struggle to maintain and establish this reputable breed continues.
Critics with personal vendettas or self-ineterest aside, no one can argue that Tina, as Breed Founder, has not always put her blueprint and belief in the proper development and evolution of the Shiloh Shepherd at the top of her lifetime agenda.
This book details the 40+ years she has dedicated to the effort, and now as the proud owner of a Shiloh Shepherd pup that descended from her bloodlines through one of her Canadian breeders, here's hoping Tina (aka Ma Shiloh), and this breed, will eventually get the recognition and credit they deserves from the rest of the Dog World Community.
Truly Amazing!.......2007-06-30
This is a truly amazing book about a truly amazing breed! I am the proud owner of one of Tina's shilohs. I knew a little of the history of the shilohs in talking with Tina's daughter Lisa, but this book gives an in depth look at the breed and the nature of these dogs. Thank God for people such as Tina for her dedication and persistence concerning this breed. I have owned many dogs over the years and loved each and everyone of them. But my shiloh has been the best one yet. He is highly intellegent and his beauty is beyond compare. He is truly a "gentle giant." Thank you Tina, for caring so much about this breed and writing such a heartwarming book about them!
Inspiring Story.......2007-06-20
I wholeheartedly recommend this book! It was a quick-paced, honest account of a woman's quest to fulfill a dream against many obstacles. Her destiny just happened to be a beautiful, rare-breed dog called the Shiloh Shepherd. Her story is a true inspiration to anyone who has encountered resistance, offering hope that whatever your God-given purpose - stay the course!
FANTASTIC BOOK!!!.......2007-05-21
What a moving story! The love of dogs by this unbelievable woman shows through so very strongly in this book. I highly reccomend this read because it reflects the determination of human beings as well as the dogs. You can't help but respect this lady and her story about "building a new breed of dog".
