Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Customer Reviews:
GREAT BOOK! .......2007-09-26
This book was great. It made me cry, it was a very refreshing look at the life and death of a dog. Great. I highly recommend this book to anyone who believes the love remeans. People who do not have any animals or have every really loved an animal can not relate to how we feel when one dies, but this book hit the nail on the head. It can not bring my dog back but it helped my move on and open my heart for a new little friend. LOVED IT.....
Great little book.......2007-08-25
I ordered this book shortly after losing our beloved dog, of twelve years. It warmed my heart and made me cry . After reading it both my husband and I realized that even though our forever dog was gone. She would always live in our hearts. I also gave this sweet little book to a close friend that lost her dog soon after I did. She loved it too. Also it's a great little book for a new dog owner as well.
Cute book for anyone who has lost a pet.......2007-08-23
I recently lost my pet and I knew someone who went through this also. After I read this little book I knew they would love it.
good for kids or parents of their 'forever dog'.......2007-08-16
I am a 30 year old pet mother, and I bought this book when Marley, our 13 year old lab mutt died, I bought it for my daugter, whose 5. She liked it, but it really lovely for anyone who truly loves their animal of any age, it made me bawl and bawl with happiness. A truely lovely book, and out of all the dog grief books I bought, this one was the best!
Children's Book.......2007-08-11
I was disappointed. This is a children's book and should be classified as such.
Book Description
A woman named Cynthia Garcia is stabbed to death and dumped in the Arizona desert after partying at a Hells Angels clubhouse in Arizona; three bullet-ridden bodies of bikers turn up in a river in Holland; a retired policeman is killed when his car is bombed in Australia. Meanwhile, the world’s most famous Hells Angel, Sonny Barger, is feted by the media on his global book tour. Angels of Death takes readers to Arizona, inside the biggest American police undercover operation to infiltrate the bikers; to British Columbia, Canada, where wealthy bikers dominate the organized crime pyramid; to Australia where the “bikies” shoot-it-out with police; to Curaçao where terrorist organizations funnel drugs to Dutch bikers; and to the streets of Oslo, Copenhagen, and Helsinki where a murderous biker war saw rocket attacks and bombs turn Scandinavia into a war zone.
While the media has continued to toast the Hells Angel icon Sonny Barger as an American legend, the facts tell another story — they are America’s major crime export. With an estimated 2,500 full-patch members in 25 countries, the Hells Angels have inspired a global subculture of biker gangs that are among the most feared and violent underworld players.

Riveting and Dangerous.......2007-07-08
The Angels of Death is riveting book about the Hells Angels quest for global domination. Reads like a thriller where the most exciting part is about ATF's undercover operation. Well recommended and hard to put down.
Angels of Death: Inside the Biker Gangs' Crime Empire.......2007-03-31
good account of the Hells Angels activity, related in an entertaining manner.
Angels of Death: Inside the Biker Gangs' Crime Empire.......2007-01-04
This is a great book - -there are a lot of facts so it isn't an easy read but very interesting just the same!
Yeah, but it's a solid 4 stars!.......2006-11-23
If this is your kinda subject matter, you'll dig it! I couldn't put it down, eventhough there's alotta names and dates, and this baby is global in coverage, it'll captivate ya. Exciting and in-depth, it's a ride from cover to cover. On par with the other Canadian OMG authors, both in depth of content, and their tendency to believe in known fallacies with mythical proportion, eh! I woulda thrown up a firm five, but they hadta print the rubbish. Still pretty damn good though.
Angels of Death.......2006-07-31
I bought this book for my boyfriend and he said he could not put it down - when I awoke the next day he was still in the living room reading!

ASIN: 0965922510 |
Book Description
For Every Cat An Angel celebrates the timeless connection between people and their "forever cats." From the moment a kitten is born, the book tells us, a guardian angel watches over it, loving the kitten no matter which path it chooses in life.
Some cats are adopted into loving families and the angel is happy knowing her cat will always be loved and cared for. But sometimes the angel knows someone very special is waiting for her cat, so she sends the cat through the stars until it arrives at the place it is meant to be - at the home of its forever person, where it will become a forever cat. Once a forever person and a forever cat find each other, nothing can ever separate them.
Filled with colorful illustrations, For Every Cat An Angel will delight cat lovers young and old and bring comfort to anyone who has had to say goodbye to their beloved cat companion.

FOR EVERY CAT AN ANGEL .......2007-08-15
For anyone who has ever loved a cat, for every cat lover out there... you owe it to yourself to buy and own this most wonderous book. The illustrations are absolutely charming and it is so beautifully written. Don't miss out on this one...add it to your continually growing cat book collection!
:).......2007-01-10
This book is the perfect book for any cat lover!
It'll bring a smile to your face and heart! :)
What a Lovely Book!.......2006-11-25
I bought it more than a year ago after the passing of my beloved kitty/soul-mate Princess. It is such a sweet comforting book -- like Princess, this book is small but brimming over with Love.
It's been more than a year since Miss P left me, but whenever I look thru this book I still get tears in my eyes!
Just Perfect.......2006-11-10
When I lost my cat- I was unable to discuss the loss with any degree of detachment. But I needed to be able to explain my kitty being gone to my young nieces who had also loved her. A book was the only solution. If I could read them something and show them pictures, they could have the loss explained and feel comforted by it. Well, not all books are created equal, especially in the "dealing with grief/loss/separation" category. But For Every Cat an Angel was absolutely perfect. The drawings were sweet and whimsical, and the spiritual fairy tale of the cat's angelic passage into life and into death was lovely and moving. Both comforting and a tear-jerker. Hey, and if you can't read it without bawling, you can always give it to the child and have them read it and/or look at the pictures. You just fill in the blanks afterwards! Imagine the relief of this over-emotional Auntie knowing she didn't have to sob all over the poor kids while explaining where the kitty went. Whew! Thank you to author/illustrator Christine Davis, what a perfect book.
For Every Cat an Angel.......2006-08-03
I had originally read "For Every Dog an Angel" and saw that it came in an equally loving Cat version, so when my brother's cat of 18 years crossed over, I just had to send his family this story as a consolation book...just perfect.
Book Description
In the same way that "The Indigo Children" was a phenomenon that was much talked-about, before the book came out and explained it, "Earth Angels" is a topic of much discussion among spiritually minded people world-wide. Four years ago, Doreen Virtue wrote an article on the topic, and then a chapter in her book, "Healing with the Angels," and then more information in "Healing with the Fairies." Since that time, Doreen has been flooded with letters from people who resonate with the idea, requesting more information.
"Earth Angels" will be the first book devoted to the topic. Doreen will describe the five different types of lightworkers: Incarnated Angels (those who had previous lives as angels, but who are now here as humans); Incarnated Elementals (those whose previous lives were in the elemental kingdom, as fairies, elves, etc.); Starpeople (those who have lived the majority of their past lives on other planets); Walk-In's (those who came from a high spiritual realm and walked-in to another person's life, as that soul gladly exited their body); and Reincarnated Sorcerers, Sorceresses, and Wizards (those whose most recent past life was during Arthurian or Atlantian times, when they practiced high magic).
The book will include dozens of case studies; a fascinating analysis of an extensive survey that Doreen has conducted among people who identify with the five types of Earth Angels; and guidance to help readers to feel happier about their lives, their own idiosyncrasies, and their missions.
Customer Reviews:
Amazing author.......2007-07-26
It is great to finally find someone who writes about all the subjects that I have know about and have experienced first hand. All of her books are very uplifting and informative. We often tend to believe that there is nothing more than meets the eye and nothing is further from the truth. I have since purchased another three of her books.
Wake up!.......2007-03-09
I was thirteen when I first realised something "weird" about myself. One Sunday morning my grandfather thought it would be a great idea for me to go to church with him, so he had me get dressed and gave me some change for the collection plate. The people at the curch were nice and all, but there was something missing from the experience. After almost an hour of being called a sinner and being reminded over and over again that Jesus was dead, I decided that I had heard enough and ran out of the church! For some reason I knew that I was not a sinner and that the Lord Jesus is not dead. Most importantly, I understood that the life of Jesus is a blueprint: the lord didn't come to show off, but to show us. His teachings should especially resonate with those of us who "know better". This book helps YOU to accept who you are and encourages you to actively seek the Christ within YOURSELF and to assist mother earth and our human brethen at this most crucial time in Gaia's history. Wake up!
Quite an interesting read.......2007-01-13
First, I'd like to say that people who have closed minds should not read and review books of this nature. If you believe in angels, the spiritual world and another realm, then you will find this book as interesting as I did. With God, all things are possible, and I personally believe angels walk among us. I've had at least 3 experiences where an "angel" appeared from nowhere to help me.
For those who think Doreen Virtue is nuts, why do you even read her books then??
Earth Angels... ?.......2007-01-08
I read this book about four years ago and boy, what a trip now looking at it again. It is nice to think about but I wouldn't take it too seriously. Some nice ideas but read it to make up your own mind. Don't bother buying brand new.
Who, Me? You Godda Be Kiddin'!.......2007-01-05
This is an approximate 157-page pocket-sized book, the size of a 4" x 6" photo, great to carry around or place anywhere. The subject matter is incarnated angels and elementals, starpeople, walk-ins, and the wise ones (wizards, shamans, etc.) The concept is that if you feel differently than others and have certain characteristics, you may be one of the above. A 30-item checklist helps you to self-identify based on characteristics and feelings. Further chapter descriptions provide additional details, suggestions, your possible needs, and so on. I would guess that if you're looking at this review, you already suspect you may be different, and may be one of the above beings. Whether you believe in the possibility or not, this is interesting and fun reading.
A further example would be: "...it's very common for Incarnated Angels to carry extra weight on their bodies...not due to overeating, but because they're energetically shielding themselves from fat. They have difficulty losing weight, even with stringent dieting or exercise...they absorb their client's toxic emotions, and their bodies blow up like sponges absorbing water..." (The term "client" is generally referring to a personal or business sense because they often try to help people by listening to everybody's problems.)
The writer, Doreen, is a metaphysical doctor of psychology. She works in the angelic realm and has extensive writing and teaching experience, and clinical practice.
Book Description
Angel Catcher is an invaluable resource for anyone who is coming to terms with the death of a loved one. A guided journal, its pages are filled with thoughtful quotations, prompts to encourage memories, and illustrations, but mostly it offers space to record thoughts, paste photos and clippings, draw, make lists, or express any feeling or remembrance of someone greatly missed.
Customer Reviews:
Great Idea.......2007-08-16
Having lost my husband recently I was drawn to the idea of Angel Catcher. I purchased three of the journals, one for myself and one for each of our children, who are adults and live away from home.
I plan to purchase the books to give to family and friends who lose a loved one in lieu of flowers or other forms of expressions of sympathy.
I only have one problem with the journal. I am 62 years old and don't see as well as I used to. The print is so small and light in color that I cannot see unless I use a magnifying glass in addition to glasses to see it. I have had others look at it and they have to strain to see the print also. I hope this can be improved in future editions.

this is an excellent book for anyone who has had a loss. I run a support group and highly recommend this book to help work through the hard times experienced through grief.
Cleanse your soul with this journal!.......2005-09-23
One of my friends gave me this journal after the death of my father in 1998. It has helped me "cleanse my soul" of the grief and heartache and pain of losing someone who your world revolves around. It has helped me so much so, that I have purchased large quantities of these journals to give to people as my own personal ministry to them. Somehow the "giving" of these journals makes my father's death a little easier to live with - in fact almost 6 years later - it still does. There are days I just go back to read the things I wrote and am conforted by my progress in healing and hope others I have given them to along the way are as well.
The greatest thing about this journal are the open ended questions and statements for you to fill in with whatever your feeling and thoughts are right then. And it leaves enough room for you to come back later and write more - it gives you a look over time of how you WERE feeling versus how you ARE feeling. The REALNESS of this journal is what draws me to it. Personally though, I hope you never need it.
COMFORTING/SAFE PLACE .......2005-08-22
A few weeks after my mom died, I ordered this book. I reviewed it in the book store and decided it was a fit for my loss and mourning process.
It has been a great source of comfort and relief for me. When I write in the journal, the words just flow and the pages fill; sometimes I continue writing on subsequent pages. Not all of the headings/topics fit the subject or reflection I am writing, but I find a fitting topic and the words flow.
Since her death, this journal has helped me through the entire year to express my inner feelings. At first I would cry a little after competing a segment. Now, it's a comfort and like a friend to go to--a solace away--hidden garden away from the world who doesn't have time or the empathy to hear my inner thoughts (I wouldn't share these thoughts or reflcetions with just anyone). They are private reflections and thougts for the book, my mom, and myself. The results: I am free to live, love, and be myself again.
If I had the time, I could sit and write in this book for hours. I am a believer in journaling and I have written on a professioanl basis.
To help you through your period of mourning.......2005-02-24
A dear friend bought me this book within days of me losing my husband to cancer. We all have different ways of dealing with death, and as a young widow of 33, this book was an important piece in the process of helping me confront my grief.
I would leaf through the book and randomly select a page that matched the way I was feeling on that particular day. I'd pick up a train of thought, a memory, an emotion; and I'd begin to write, and write, and write, until I felt I'd expressed as much as I could, until I'd released tiny pieces of guilt, anger, despair, loneliness. Angel Catcher became a positive vehicle for catharsis; a record of my transition from searing grief and sadness to a place of healing and great peace.
I have since bought this book for friends who have suffered their own losses. For me, it was a compassionate and constructive channel for dealing with bereavement, and I am very grateful for the comfort it brought me.
May the book continue to bring light and hope to others in need.

Offered nothing.......2007-09-14
I thought this book was horrible. It didn't do anything to help my stepdaughters understand the death of their little sister and made me feel worse. Much preferred is Mommy, please don't cry, there are no tears in heaven. It was just a better understanding as to where my baby daughter is today.
Great for little ones.......2007-09-13
I have a little girl of 4. She never met her older sister & could not understand why. After I read this story to her she said "Mommy that's a sad story." She now where's an angel metal & tells people her sister is with her. I love this book it very simplely makes scence to little ones.
Great start.... horrible finish.......2007-09-03
A friend of mine just lost her son to a stillbirth. I suffered the same fate two and a half years ago. I didn't buy the book for myself then, but due to the glowing reviews I purchased it for my friend.
The book starts out wonderful. A little boy(which I guess could pass for a girl) talks about how they were going to have a baby. He talks about his mommas tummy and how he and his parents had talked about all the fun they were going to have with the new baby.
The middle part is good too. It shows the parents being sad. The mom looking at baby stuff and the dad out in the garage working on a memory box. They show them crying. The little boy talks about how sad it is and how he thinks his parents are sadder than he is.
At one point the boys says that his grandmother told him that although the baby is not with us physically, the baby will always be in our heart.
To me this is where the book should end. It shows the baby as an angel looking down on the family. It is a nice, logical place to end.
BUT - there are a few more pictures of everyone crying, and more talk about how horrible the whole thing is ( which it IS... but this is a book for preschoolers... we don't want them to be frightened).
The last page of the book has a picture of the parents walking slumped over with their heads down in grief, crying pulling a cart (where I am assuming the baby was supposed to be)the little boy walks next to them and the final line states "it would have been much more fun to have a baby".
To me (although this statement is true) is not a good way to end a book that is to be read over and over again, during different stages of grief. At first this tone might sit well with the immediate greif and helplessness feeling... but over time it may bring the reader down, instead of teaching the child/reader that there is hope in the long run.
brilliant.......2007-08-20
i bought this book after we lost our little girl, i found it helped my other two children aged 7 & 9 understand a little bit about what happened.
it is clear and able to be read by themselves.
My son loved the book........2007-08-15
I bought this for my six year old son. We lost a twin who was a stillborn when he was four years old. When I read it to my son we both cried and he said "This book speaks to me". It has been two years since we lost the baby and he still loves to read it. It is comforting to him to know his baby brother is still with him. We talk about what he is doing in heaven as an angel.

Book Description
Pink Angels and best friends Holly, Raina, and Kathleen have been through a lot over the past year. The summer before their senior year promises to be busy but fun, as Holly and Raina return to their full-time volunteer jobs at the hospital and Kathleen, who needs the money, works at the hospital gift shop. Of course, Raina and Kathleen will be spending as much time as possible with their boyfriends, Hunter and Carson.
Holly is happy for her friends, but she can't help feeling a little left out when hanging out with the two couples. She does finally have a boy interested in her, but the e-mails from her secret admirer, Shy Boy, have recently stopped coming. What has she done wrong? Will she ever meet her mystery guy in person? But Holly's world is forever changed when tragedy strikes close to home. It's not fair that the most loving and giving person she knows is the victim of a random crime. She, Raina, and Kathleen will need each other now more than ever.

Typical Lurlene McDaniel book. Full of hope and drama and heartbreak. If you've read the other two "Angels in Pink" books, read this one because it provides closure for the other two.

An Unfogetable Story.......2006-07-06
The book Angels in Pink "Holly's Story" by Lurene McDaniel has a lot of drama, fun times and a lot about REAL life. THis book shows you that life goes on whatever might happen. It also shows you you that you must never blame God for what happened a death or anything you must always believe in him. This book also shows you that there will be hard times that you will have to go through in life but yet there will be a lot of positive things too. Like in the book Holly had LOst her Brother Hunter but yet she feels like they have been closer tahn ever. I really liked this book a lot it was a book that I can relate to and understnd what my dad is going through. His mom died on April 17th but he took it strong just like Holly's dad did but there are times that i can see that there are times that he jsut want to cry. MS.McDaniel has wrote the book with such descriptive detail. I rate this book 5 stars. I recomend this book to young readers who have experienced death in the family this would show them that there aren't the only one that are experiencing the same situation.

Although my dad acted like Holly's dad he still had times that he wanted to cry. I would also recommend it to young readers who have experienced death in the family before. This will show that you aren't the only one going through these things.

An Unforgettable Book.......2005-12-17
This book was an inspiration to me and has inspired many other young youth readers. Lurlene's books are some of the top inspiration books in the country, and by reading them you will have no problem being able to figure out why. Her books have touched many people and have given them great confidence. All of her books are award winning books in my perspective. She has been given great honors and awards, and she sure does deserve them. Her books are an inspiration in our society today, without such great literature we wouldn't be so great. Raina's Story is one of her inspiring books that I recommend you reading. It shares how life is as a high-school girl and how they have tough choices. Raina has had some tough decisions to make in her life, and when the person she turns to for help tells her a deep secret, it changes her life forever. Will Raina ever tell her anything again? You will have to read this book for yourself to figure out the extreme shock of the story.
Sucks compared to Kathleen's Story.......2005-11-25
I aboslutely loved "Kathleen's Story"!!!!!!!!!!!! It was soooooooooo good, and I couldn't wait until "Raina's Story" came out. It wasn't that Raina's story was bad, cause it wasn't. It was just not as good. And I didn't like how some stuff turned out.
Ok, so there was still Kathleen, Holly, and Raina, only now it's their junior year, and they're volunteering to get credit for science.
Raina's getting really really serious about Hunter, but it's harder and harder to not go all the way with him. Then he finds out that she isn't pure, because something happened when she was 13... He starts to think about their relationship. He's so into god, and raina doens't even have a religion.
Holly still has no boyfriend...
Kathleen and Carson are doing good, but then at a party she catches Carson kissing Stephanie! I couldn't belive it!!!!!!!!! She got really mad and calls it off. She misses him like crazy.
The worst part is, the ending didn't even say whether or not Carson and Kathleen got back together!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's with that?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angels in Pink "Raina's Story".......2005-10-28
Julia Reidlinger Period 2
I have read the book, Angels in Pink, by Lurlene McDaniel. Delacorte Press, 2005. This book is a non fiction. This book is geared towards young adults but I think that adults would like this book too. It is mostly about life in high school, and the obstacles that you face.
This book is about a girl named Raina and her friends and their life in high school and some problems that their friends and families face.
This book is very dramatic. A person who likes books that have dramatic irony would love this one. It is a page turner and you won't want to put it down until you are finished. The author thinks that Raina's mother is wrong for not telling her something important that happened to her that is going to change her life. I think that her mother was right she was trying to protect her. This book raised the problem of boyfriends and families split apart and a whole bunch of touchy subjects teenagers go through. This book didn't really affect my life because the subjects in this book don't relate to me.
This book is a must read for high school students and I hope all of you get a chance to read it.
Not as good as the first book, but it wasn't bad, either.......2005-08-04
After reading (and loving) Kathleen's Story, I knew that I was hooked on Lurlene McDaniel's "Angels in Pink" series, and anxiously awaited the release of the second book, RAINA'S STORY. It wasn't a bad book, but it wasn't necessarily a great book, either.
RAINA'S STORY still goes inside the lives of the three friends from the first book (Kathleen, Raina, and Holly), but the main focus is (obviously) on Raina St. James. RAINA'S STORY explores the relationship between Raina and her mother, her boyfriend Hunter, and Raina's lack of faith.
Everything is going good in Raina's life, until an old boyfriend shows up at her school and threatens to turn everything around. While she's worried about what might happen with him, she throws herself into her volunteer work at the local hospital, where she faces even more challenges, and gets the opportunity to save a woman's life.
The "Angels in Pink" series is still something that I enjoy reading, and McDaniel's books are always short enough that you can zip through them in about a day. Unfortunatley, RAINA'S STORY just didn't compare with Kathleen's Story. The "surprise ending" to this one was really predictable and didn't really leave you waiting for more. Regardless, I'll still be looking forward to the last book, but I'd recommend picking this up from the library instead of buying it.
WOW.......2005-05-25
WOW! I LOVE THIS BOOK! This is soo GOOD! I like the end! I can't wait for next booK!

Book Description
Left on her own when her family dies in a terrible disaster, fifteen-year-old Green is haunted by loss and by the past. Struggling to survive physically and emotionally in a place where nothing seems to grow and ashes are everywhere, Green retreats into the ruined realm of her garden. But in destroying her feelings, she also begins to destroy herself, erasing the girl she'd once been as she inks darkness into her skin. It is only through a series of mysterious encounters that Green can relearn the lessons of love and begin to heal enough to tell her story.

"Green Angel" by Alice Hoffman has several significant shortcomings that push it well out of the realm of being a "must read". .......2007-10-08
"Green Angel" by Alice Hoffman has several significant shortcomings that push it well out of the realm of being a "must read". Hoffman goes out of her way to appeal only to a very specific audience; the fifteenish high school girl obsessed with the "gothic" culture. The main character is really the only element Hoffman provides to identify with and she focuses on her to such an extent that anyone not interested in this character's very narrow, flat, and predictable personality will find little reason to continue the story. "Green", the main character, losses her family in a sudden, unexplained disaster. She goes into mourning, renames herself "Ash", tattoos pictures of black roses and bats on herself, puts nails through the tops of her boots, and sewing thorns into her coat. The story is one of rebirth and forgiving oneself, in this case from Green's mourning and her morose, angsty attitude before she loses her family. The book is heavily symbolic; executed with bluntness akin to being struck in the head by a sledgehammer coming at you in zero gravity. You can see it coming, turning slowly, and there is no way to get out of its way. Furthermore, the stories events fail to operate on a consistent basis of logic. Things just happen; independently of what logic says should happen. There is no explanation for anything, only a sense that the author didn't know what she meant to have happen in her own story, and so she has inserted random plot devices with the hopes that the impenetrable fog of her reasoning keeps anyone from noticing the inconsistency of the rules of the world she has created within the novel. I wouldn't recommend this book because there really isn't much to get from it and I don't think anyone but a goth-obsessed teenage girl would ever forgive me for doing so.
Green Angel: Journey of emotion and grieving.......2007-10-05
If this book was written for any specific age group, it would probably be young adult - however, the messages and themes of the story capture a much larger audience. Adults and teens can relate to Hoffman's beautifully written story about Green, a teen struggling with the death of her family.
Green is the oldest of two children. She is jealous of (and adores) her sister Aurora, but learns enough from her mother about gardening that she feels that she has her place in life: not with people, but with plants.
Then one day, her parents go to the town to sell their vegetables and take Aurora with her. Green (very angry) is left home. The town burns down that day, and Green sees the fire and smoke from across the land. Her family (and most other adults) dies in the fire and Green is left alone. She's torn by this sorrow and refuses to let herself cry. Because of that, she's blinded by the ashes and spends the majority of the book without sight. She finds solace in injured animals (and can kind of communicate with them - this is where some of the mysticism comes in), eventually another human and learns to move on.
I've heard that this is a parable for September 11 and while it was written after that event, the story is poignant and moving enough to be considered on its own. While it may help those still mourning over that tragedy, the story focuses more on Green's personal journey and emotions than anything country-wise.
While the book is sad, it has uplifting tones at the end. Green finally realizes what her purpose in life is and that she can't keep mourning - but the mourning process is realistic and understandable. It's easy to see that she really is upset.
If this book were to be read by young teens or those struggling with masochism/self mutilation, I would be sure to talk about those issues. Green tattoos herself with ink and needles in order to dull her emotional pain.
Overall, "Green Angel" is a well written, emotional book. I would suggest it for eighth grade and up, and for anyone adult or teen who is struggling with separation, death or alienation from peers.
I pity the poor trees.......2007-06-05
sacrificed to print copies of this book. I get magic and mysticism and allegory. I get warnings about violence and waste and evironmentalism. This book just never got to the point. I kept hearing a plaintive whiney voice that never said anything substantial.
I am a big Hoffman fan, a great fan of "holocaust" themed novels, and continue, in my 60th decade, to enjoy YA fiction...this was a total waste of time. I didn't even pass it along in our established family book chain. It is reposing, I am sure to collect much dust, in a Cape Cod rental cottage book case. My only hope is that at the end of the summer some 9th grader desperate to complete his/her reading list will be happy to find it, and need to waste only a little vacation time to read this.
A Girl Named Green.......2007-04-05
Tragedy sets upon a girl named Green when her family goes into town without her, and a huge fire burns the town. Green then settles into mourning her loss.

Book Review
"Green Angel" by Alice Hoffman was about a girl named Green and how she felt sorry about herself because she didn't go with her parents or her sister in the city were they could sell their vegetables. Once Hoffman said that the city was on fire and that Green's family did not come back I got more interesting and I wanted to keep on reading further so I could find out if her family was going to come back sooner or later or if they weren't even going to come back at all. All that was left was the ashes, days and days without sunlight because of all the ashes that were left from the fire that happened in the city. When they didn't come back for a long time that's when Green started to feel more lonely and alittle depressed. Green started to tattoo herself with ink all over her body and she started thinking about her sister and how she missed her more then anything.
In my opion I thought that it was a good book because I wanted to keep on reading more so I could figure out more information about why she felt sorry for herself and why she missed her sister more then her dad or mom.
