Pippi is an irrepressible, irreverent, and irrefutably delightful nine-year-old girl who lives alone (with a monkey) in her wacky house, Villa Villekulla. When she's not dancing with the burglars who were just trying to rob her house, she's attempting to learn the "pluttification" tables at school; fighting Adolf, the strongest man in the world at the circus; or playing tag with police officers. Pippi's high-spirited, good-natured hijinks cause as much trouble as fun, but a more generous child you won't find anywhere. Astrid Lindgren has created a unique and lovable carrot-topped character, inspiring generations of children to want to be Pippi. The first Pippi Longstocking was published in America in 1950, and this fine, newly illustrated collection includes Pippi Goes on Board and Pippi in the South Seas. Pippi makes reading pure pleasure. (Ages 7 to 10)

The Adventures of Pippi Longstocking Review.......2007-01-17
Very good book with hilarious stories about Pippi. Great for kids and adults.
One of the Greatest Female Characters Ever Created.......2005-09-08
It was very empowering for me as a child to read Pippi's adventures. Her independence, common sense, strength, resourcefulness, and compassion were a tremendous inspiration to me and continue to be very commendable qualities. I don't believe much was lost in the translation of these books because the storytelling flows superbly and is exciting, engaging, and enduring. As a youngster, my favorite elements of these stories included Pippi's horde of gold, pet horse, physical strength, fantastic adventures, and red hair. As an adult, I am drawn to the heroine's wisdom and goodness of spirit. For adults who read Pippi as a child, I recommend a revisit to her world for a fresh view of her character as well as delightful reminiscing. This is terrific reading for all ages both girls and boys.

Pippi Hardbound.......2005-08-10
This is a great, well-made and glossy volume of all three books in one! With caricatured illustrations, this is a fine addition for any book collector or family!
The Chililug chugger is back..........2004-05-19
Pippi Longstocking is a lot of things. She plays with sparklers, she plays with guns, she resists arrest, flaunts her supernatural power, manhandles bothersome adults, insults them and disregards them as silly. She's self-important, arrogant, callous, rude, undignified, and absolutely perfect.
Maybe the former LEADS to the latter, because I can't think of any other way she could be all of those things so perfectly. Pippi is the kind of character who, although she seems so terribly foolish, is somehow always right. Pippi is, in that respect, to elementary school children what Superman is to the people of metropolis. She so totally represents everything they hold dear that she can't help but become their champion, despite, or perhaps because of the fact that she's a universal "bad girl."
This book contains every one of her "popularly-recognized" adventures, with new illustrations by some fellow who's really good at drawing pictures of Pippi and her friends. The pictures are slick and cartoon-like in keeping with the sometimes-wacky-but-always-credible-somehow escapades of the girl wonder. Pippi owns an old, run-down villa and a horse and monkey. She keeps her horse on the porch, and her monkey on her shoulder when she goes for a walk. But the strangest thing in the house is Pippi herself, whose resources consist of a seemingly endless supply of gold, a vast collection of rare trinkets, and an endless supply of youthful energy and superhuman strength, probably equal to the task of lifting a small steamroller. She also possesses great durability and the seeming ability to leap great distances with enormous speed. Her skills in seemingly all tests of acrobatics and hand-eye coordination are top-knotch. In short, she was a self-insertion character before there was such a thing.
However, with Pippi, it works, because rather than pretend that she's up against some terrible foe or trying to add tension to the story, Pippi lives her life almost strictly for the humor and fun of it. Anything that keeps people from having fun is something Pippi will generally try to plow right through.
Pippi has the ultimate secret. She knows how to have fun, and if wisdom comes from the mouths of babes, than Pippi is indeed, faults and all, the wisest person who has ever lived.
As a closing note, I'm probably not the only person who hopes that Pippi's "Chililug" pills are real immortality medication, because that would mean that she is still around, and still having fun somewhere.
I had The Biggest Crush On Pippi Longstocking When I Eight.......2003-03-01
I always wanted a house that could fly. The Adventures Of Pippi Longstocking is a wonderful Story in every sense of the word.

Tomten books are gems.......2007-03-15
Simple little stories with a nice repeating theme, great illustrations. A fine addition to any child's library.
The Tomten.......2007-01-18
A short but cute book about one of those loveable Tomtens. The illustrations are wonderful.
The Tomten.......2006-12-13
This is an English translation of a traditional Swedish childrens tale. I thought it was a nice little story, the illustrations could have been better though. This would be a good one to get for your kid if your trying to avoid the usual pop culture garbage.
Remembering "The Tomten".......2006-12-07
I had this book when I was very small. My uncle who was a librarian gave us a library bound edition hardback. I discovered it at my grandma's house when I was visiting about 15 years ago and almost cried. I could still remember it. I brought it home and read it to my kids and they all loved it. I agree about the picture quality in the paperback, sort of washed out and not as good as the old hardbacks. If you can get hold of an older copy, from a library or something, it will probably not be in pristine shape but will have the nicer paper and illustrations.
Poor quality printing but, great book........2006-11-27
Look for the 1961 version if you care about presentation. I bought this thinking I was getting a deal. However, when I got it, I was disapointed. It's missing some pages and it has an extra 8 blank pages all throughout the book. The paper and scanning quaulity were awful. I did like one thing about it. My son was 3 when we got this book and I didn't want him to see print at the time (for personal waldorf education beliefs). The print is on one page and the pic is on the other. This format was great for us because I could cover the print page and expose only the pic page while I told the story.

A book that is aimed at young girls, but is a kid's book in general. The young P L lives by herself, and has plenty of money. (Ok, well, she does have a monkey, so points for that).
Basically, she goes around having a good time, and causing havoc for any nogoodniks that get in her way.
A Pippi Review.......2007-05-08
Pippi is a very strong girl who moves into Villa Villekulla. She doesn't have any parents. She thinks her father is a cannibal. Her mother died when she was a baby. Pippi says she's not alone because she has Mr. Nilsson and her horse. She is a remarkable girl, whose whole name is Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Efraim's Daughter Longstocking, daughter of Captain Efraim Longstocking, formerly the Terror of the Sea, now a cannibal king. She has many adventures with Tommy and Annika. At the end, Pippi says she wants to be a pirate when she grows up. Submitted by the students in Ms. Allen's Second Grade class.
I liked the book!.......2007-03-01
Pippi Longstocking was a little girl that had no father and mother .She taught that her father will come back and be a Cannibal King .Pippi had a monkey and a horse the monkey's name was Mr.Nilson. Once she saw a girl and a boy their names where Tommy and Annika. In the morning Tommy and Annika went school Pippi always stared she was really interested in school. One day two police men went by Pippi's house and they told her that to go to children apartment. She asked him if her pets could go to. Then he said no. The police men asked Pippi if she new multiplication facts. Pippi told him yes I now plutification facts. Then Pippi decided to go to school but while she was there she did bad things. In art she had to draw something on a piece of paper but then she told her teacher she couldn't fit her big white horse on her piece of paper that's why she drew it on the floor. She was a big trouble maker. One day she arranged a picnic and she got out of school because it was scrubbing vacation. While that happened Mr. Nilson got lost. When they found him they all made a picnic and played a game. Pippi had told them that there where ghost in her attic. Then she said do you want to go. So they did go Tommy said ghost!!!
But it wasn't a ghost it was Pippi. Lastly Tommy and Annika left and Pippi said I want to be a pirate when I grow up. Then she asked Tommy and Annika don't you?
A Classic Still Not Dated.......2007-01-12
As a child, I read and enjoyed the Pippi Longstocking books. Now, as a teacher and director of a school, can have these wonderful, uninhibited stories read by students. And these are not just any students they are Taiwanese ESL students. The ideas of freedom, self-moderation, regulation, and disregard of what others think of your nonconformist good intentions hit a resonant note with them. These are still great books for pre and early teen readers. (Older readers can enjoy reading them to even younger children.)
The book Pippi Longstocking is a pretty funny book........2007-01-10
You should read the book Pippi Longstocking. It is about a girl who is about ten years old. She lives by herself, she has a horse, and she has two best friends. Oh yah, I forgot to tell you she is really, really and really strong.
One day Pippi Longstocking went on a boat to go sail with her father. It was a very stormy day and her father went overboard and Pippi never thought he was dead, but you don't know if he is dead or not. Pippi thought he became a cannibal king.
When I finished the book I gave it two thumbs up and what I like about this book is Pippi does not care about what people think about her, her hair is reddish orange, her ponytails look crazy and she has really big shoes even though she's pretty weird she does not care, Pippi's still going to be herself.

Ronia, the Robber's Daughter.......2007-03-30
"A robber's daughter, joy and gladness!" shouted Matt the stormy night that his daughter, Ronia, was born. Ronia grew up in Matt's Fort with her parents and her father's band of robbers. When she was old enough her parents let her walk through the woods by herself. While she was exploring she met Birk, the son of her father's arch enemy, Borka. Birk along with his parents and their band of robbers move into a section of Matt's Forest which they called Borka's Keep. At first Ronia and Birk despised each other but, they soon became best friends. One day, Matt captured Birk and wanted to use him to get Borka off his land. Ronia was extremely upset. Matt was furious and said that he no longer had a child. Birk and Ronia ran away into the woods where they lived all spring and summer long. Awhile later, Ronia came across Matt, who begged her to come home. After a few difficult decisions and challenges, Borka and Matt joined forces and Ronia and Birk were allowed to see each other anytime without worrying about their fathers' feud. This book was a very good adventure story.
I liked that the author threw in some scenes that were a little suspenseful. Bumper, one of Matt's robbers, was shot in the neck with an arrow by one of Borka's men. He survived, thanks to the nursing skills of Ronia's mother. When Ronia found a spot to meet Birk under Matt's Fort she heard someone coming but, the person did not come all the way down to see Birk. There were several times throughout the book when Birk and Ronia were almost attacked by wild harpies and other creatures. While Ronia and Birk were trying to train and ride wild horses they lost control and the horses went galloping as fast as they could through the forest to get them off.
I also liked how the characters developed. When Ronia and Birk first met they did not like each other at all. They then became best friends and later became "brother and sister." Matt and Borka had been rivals for many years. In the end, they were friends and partners, like they were when they were very young. Even Birk's mother and Ronia's Mother were able to get along.
Some of the creatures of the forest had odd ways of saying things. When Ronia got her foot stuck in a rumphob's den one of them asked, "Un's stuck in t'roof, woffer did un do it?" The gray dwarfs exclaimed, "Gray dwarfs all, bite and strike!" They would say this every time they saw a human. While out in the woods Birk and Ronia were being chased by a whole flock of wild harpies. One of them screamed, "Ho, ho! Lovely little humans in the water! Now the blood will run, ho, ho!" These kinds of dialects gave the creatures more character and made the book fun to read.
The thing that I liked the most about the book was that the author put a lot of detail into the characters' emotions, especially Matt's. When Ronia was first born Matt carried her high and proud and showed her off to all of the robbers. He danced and cheered with lots of enthusiasm. After Bumper was wounded, Matt was walking up and down the hall grinding his teeth and cursing Borka under his breath. While Ronia was out living in the woods, he would lie in bed almost all day, staring at the ceiling. He barely ate and everyone in the fort was depressed and they never sang or danced. Ronia was screaming and hitting everyone within her reach when she saw that her father had captured Birk. This is an excellent book for anyone who likes stories of friendship and adventure.

My childhood book.......2007-03-08
I wanted to buy this book for my children to read, because it was my favorite story when I was little. The book arrived quickly, in perfect condition, and I couldn't be happier.
Awesome.......2006-04-23
In my opinion, this is one of Astrid Lindgren's best books, ever. It teaches you that you must love to be loved in return, and that love makes the world go around. I personally think that young Ronja here makes a great role-model for all young girls. ;)
beautiful.......2006-04-04
this is perhaps my favorite book ever to read to little girls (my daughters at the moment are 18 and 5; i just got through reading ronia to the 5). it's incredibly joyful, incredibly sad, incredibly adventurous, incredibly life-affirming. i particulalrly love the dad character, matt, who feels and expresses everything with total intensity and immediacy. it has an anti-pc/anti-didactice flavor that makes its actual lessons seem genuine. anyway, buy six copies and give them to all the parents of your daughter's classmates etc.
Everyone should read this book.......2005-12-20
Growing up in Germany, where Astrid Lindgren is read by every child, Lindgren's stories affected me deeply. It may sound silly, but they enrich my life to this day. Without a shadow of a doubt, Lindgren is the best children's author in the world.
I'm on a bit of a mission to get her books more widely read in the English-speaking world. There is no better place to start than with Ronia, the Robber's Daughter. It's a story about growing up, torn loyalties, and, above all, love - a very human story, set in a fantastical world of forests, goblinfolk, and adventure. Read this book, then, read The Brothers Lionheart - and don't forget to give Lindgren's books to a child you care about.

I'm 43 and remember every page of this book- My parents read it to us every summer- and its pages and stories have stuck with me for decades. Buy it- turn off the tv AND the internet AND the cell phone- and read it out loud to your kids- its the best thing in the world!
my favorite book in the whole world!!!!!!!!!!!.......2006-08-10
ever since my mommy bought this book for me i have been diving in to it taking it on trips and reading it at home. this book is full of stories about six cheerfull and mischievous kids (three boys and three girls) who live in three swidish farm houses.even if your favorite kind of stories are adventures you will love this beacause it is a huge adventure in its own way.
Charming, delightful story........2005-08-18
This is a wonderful book depicting the simple joys of growing up in a small Scandinavian village in the early 20th century. The Children of Noisy Village get into mischief, celebrate birthdays and holidays and enjoy hayrides and picnics together. It's the kind of childhood we all wish we could have experienced. It's a beautifully written book and not sentimental. A great read aloud for the 5-8 set. Lots of fun.
Excellent, old style, fun.......2005-06-14
I read the Polish version of "Children from Bullerbyn". Answer for one of the reviewers: the names of the children were Lasse, Bosse, Olle, Britta, Anna, and Lisa.
The book describes adventures, daily life and customs of children living in a small Swedish village in 1920s. We recently watched a Swedish movie based on this book, and it was absolutely gorgeous. My 7 year old son watched it with open mouth and immediately asked for a book after he finished.
Obviously you do not need spaceships, laser guns, deadly robots or any of the modern aggressive characters to attract a child...

I LOVED this book. I still do. I have an American copy from the late 80's, and until a while ago, I thought it was the only version. However, in my school, there was ANOTHER copy, called "Cherry time at Bullerby" which completely threw me, because in it, Lisa is seven, and there are some stories, such as Easter, from my version, and some completely new ones! It seems there are so many copies, and all I want to do is own a difinitive edition, with all the stories! How old IS Lisa? Nine, ten, seven, six?
In my version, her friends are called; "Olaf, Britta and Anna" her brothers are; "Karl and Bill"
Can anyone clear this up? What is the original version that Astrid Lindgren wrote??

Pippi Longstocking.......2006-05-04
What child doesn't sometimes dream of being on their own, free from the rules of adults and able to do exactly what they please? Pippi Longtockings invites children into that very world, her world, where anything goes. Living on her own with a horse as a house pet and a monkey named Mr. Nilsson, Pippi turns convention upside down, along with most of the town! With pirate's gold for money and plenty to do and see, Pippi quickly captures the hearts of two neighbor children, and together they embark on a series of hilarious antics to the chagrin of adults everywhere. This freckled face red head is not only a hero to children around the world, but strongly appeals to the child inside all of us. Pippi seems a valiant reminder that the world is, ultimately, what we make it, and that some rules are made to be broken. I would recommend this book as a must read for everyone, regardless of how young or old you might be. If she hasn't already, Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Efraim's Daughter Longstocking is sure to quicky capture a piece of your heart as well.
That Freckled Faced Red Haired Girl.......2005-11-23
Pippi Longstocking is not your average little girl. For one, she lives all by herself in a large house, with no parents around to tell her to do anything. Then there's the animal factor. Instead of having a little kitten like a normal girl, Pippi has a pet monkey named Mr. Nelson, and a horse who lives on her porch! But even with all of her strangeness, Tommy and his sister Annika - who just happen to be Pippi's next-door neighbors - think that Miss Longstocking is the best thing to ever happen to them, which is why they try to spend all of their time with her. But the fact that this red-haired girl doesn't go to school puts a damper on their weekdays. But definitely doesn't put a damper on the crazy adventures they have together, as they get into all sorts of mischief and trouble.
I first read PIPPI ON BOARD years and years ago at the library, and have been a Pippi fan ever since. The movies about her wacky life have only made me love her even more. However, I had never read PIPPI LONGSTOCKING, Astrid Lindgren's first installment into the trials and tribulations of Pippi's life, and now that I have, Pippi's whole story has become clear. Pippi is an energetic girl who loves the finer things in life - and has the money to afford it. Her influence on the children around her - while not the greatest - is outrageously funny, and will cause readers to laugh out loud. Overall, Astrid Lindgren's PIPPI LONGSTOCKING is a book that will go down in history alongside the works of Roald Dahl. Marvelous!

Pippi Longstocking's long red braids are the very image of childhood rebellion. In Pippi Goes to School, our heroine's insurrectionary spirit is hardly dampened by her first taste of academe. Her friends Tommy and Annika head off bright and early at 8 a.m., "hand in hand, swinging their schoolbags." Pippi can't be bothered to get going until a little later: "At exactly ten o'clock she lifted her horse off the front porch, and a little later all the people in the town ran to their windows to see what horse it was that was running away." It's just Pippi headed for school in her own inimitable fashion. The teacher's vain attempts to teach her math and art and music fail miserably. When asked to add 7 and 5, she retorts, "If you don't know that yourself, you needn't think I'm going to tell you." It's not that Pippi's naughty, it's just that she has her own way of doing things. At the end of the day, it's she who's consoling the exhausted teacher: "You understand, Teacher, don't you, that when you have a mother who's an angel and father who's a cannibal king, and when you have sailed on the ocean all your whole life, then you don't know just how to behave in school." This slender paperback picture book is neatly adapted from the Astrid Lindgren classic Pippi Longstocking, with assistance from Lindgren herself. Michael Chesworth's lively, modernized illustrations make clever reference to the original edition, without being slavish. (Ages 4 to 8)--Claire Dederer
Book Description
Pippi Longstocking has her own special way of doing everything, even going to school. She's not about to walk, she'd rather ride her horse. And Pippi can't be bothered with spelling and math; she's more interested in drawing on the floor and finding out when Christmas vacation starts. Pippi may be ready for school, but is school ready for Pippi? Pippi Goes to School is a great introduction for young children to the wacky, wonderful world of Pippi Longstocking.

Book Description
Say hello to everyone's favorite redhead!
Everyone knows Pippi Longstocking. For generations, even
the youngest children have immediately identified with her
independent spirit. Pippi is incredibly strong and lives alone
in Villa Villekulla with her horse and a monkey called Mr.
Nilsson. To the amazement of her neighbors, Tommy and
Annika, she sleeps with her feet on the pillow and her head
under the covers, bakes cookies on the floor, performs her own
act at the circus, takes on two burglars single-handedly, and
has a most unusual birthday party.
Customer Reviews:
Children's Classic.......2006-02-24
Pippi Longstocking is a children's classic. Kids can exercise their imagination, while following the exploits of Pippi who gets to do all the things kids think they would try if they were allowed to live unsupervised. At the same time, its all done with a wonderful innocence. One gets the impression that Tommy and Annika have the best of both worlds; they get to experience exciting adventures through their friendship with Pippi, but at the end of the day they get to go home to the security of responsible and loving parents.
This English translation is especially nice, because it uses the original Swedish illustrations. So many of the English translations have been re-illustrated by different artists, and lost some of their charm.
Stunning illustrations! A must for Pippi and Astrid fans!.......1999-10-27
I bought this book only for the illustrations. In fact, I gave hardly any consideration to what the writing would be like, but both writing and illustrations were a treat.
First, I'll go to the illustrations because they are the most novel thing about this book. This is the first Pippi Longstocking book every to be published in the US with the original illustrations by the (obviously) talented Ingrid Vang Nyman. Her pictures are amazingly bright and cheery. Great amounts of reds and yellows, blues, and greens were used. It doesn't seem like there was a dull color on her pallate. The colors on the cover are pretty much the only colors used throughout the book and the result is breathtaking. Now, don't get me wrong. I'm not saying this is the Sistine Chapel or anything, but the pictures are so simple looking, clean cut, and almost "primitive" (that isn't really the proper word I'm looking for, but anyway...). I was persistently amazed on Ingrid Nyman's attention to detail. Her scenes focus on the main characters and there actions, but if you look around the scenes, the detail is wonderful!
Most of Astrid Lindgren's writing in the book won't be new to her fans, but the way she changes it is very pleasing. It is just perfect for young readers. I know that this is minute point that most people probably won't notice, but I loved the way Astrid Lindgren pulled the story from its original books into present tense. I felt much more inside the story this way and this shows her mastery and skill at writing for children of all ages.
This is must-have for Astrid Lindgren and Pippi Longstocking fans and perfect for those kids whom you want to know Pippi. At the moment, there are two ways in book-form to introduce kids to Pippi, the "Pippi Longstocking Storybooks" from Viking Press and this book. Although the intentions of Viking are admirable (indeed, the way they handled it is excellent), it doesn't fit for the age bracket that this book targets. Now, you can start children off on this book, lead them to The Pippi Longstocking Storybooks, and they're well on their way to reading the three classics!

Pippi in the South Seas.......2006-10-12
I give this book 5 stars because it is interesting, funny, and silly.
My favorite character was Pippi because she is silly and crazy. My favorite part was when Pippi and her friends were playing marbles in a cave. They were using pearls as their marbles. Two thieves came and tried to steal the pearls from the cave. Pippi thought they wanted to use them for marbles too so she told them to go to a store to get real marbles!
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes being silly.
Pippi deals with adults by speaking double-talk and changing the subject, the fantasy of children everywhere.......2006-07-26
Pippi Longstocking is one of the most delightful characters to ever appear in children's books. She is a small girl with pigtails who is the only human living in her house. Her father is the king of the Pacific island of Kurrekurredutt and she lives with her animals. She has pigtails, freckles and is incredibly strong. Tommy and Annika are her friends whose parents let her play with Pippi all the time.
Some people may consider the Pippi books to be inappropriate for children, since Pippi does not go to school and lives a carefree life of perpetual childhood. I don't agree with this opinion, the book is fantasy and Pippi is so full of non sequiters when she speaks that the book is clearly not to be taken seriously.
In this story, Pippi's father arrives to take Pippi to visit his kingdom of Kurrekurredutt. Tommy and Annika go with her and they have many great adventures. Pearls are plentiful in the waters around the island and the children have no trouble finding enough to play games of marbles. Two evil men land on the island and try to steal the pearls away. Pippi simply throws the men out onto the rocks and then into the sea, where they swim to their boat and are never heard from again.
The book is loaded with metaphors for the relationship between children and adults. Pippi simply deals with each situation with an adult by performing double-talk or changing the subject. This naturally annoys the adults, but is a natural turnaround for children. The reasons adults give to children when explaining what is happening often appears as double-talk, so this is just a reversal of roles.
I enjoyed this book immensely, reading it as a fantasy where a child remains a child, and talks strangely to adults. To children, that is often what adults seem to be doing to them.
Pippi.......2006-01-24
Pippi in the South Seas.
Pippi is a wild girl. She likes to lift horses and only goes to school with her best friends, Tommy and Annika when the teacher is going to give presents to the smart people. The even bigger part that indicates she's "wild" is that she lives by herself in a house called Villa Vilekullu, while her father is at sea. All that changes when Pippi gets a letter from her father saying that he wants her to come to his island in which he rules. So she's off. Pippi has a couple adventures with her new native friends from the Island. In one she talks sense to a shark by saying to it "Don't you have any shame in you?"
Personally I think Pippi is funnier than Garfield, stronger than Popeye, as magical as Harry Potter, and more kind-hearted than anyone could possibly get. I recommend this book to 5 year olds (if read to), and older. * * * * *
A delightful book for anyone young at heart!.......2002-12-07
This was one of my favorite books growing up, and I just reread it before sending a copy to a friend's daughter for Christmas. Pippi's irrepressible spirit and good-hearted hijinks will delight readers young and old, and remind you that you're only as old as you feel -- so feel young, arrange a question-and-answer bee and sail off to Kurrekurredutt Island in the South Seas with Pippi Longstocking! (The inhabitants of Kurrekurredutt Island are referred to as "Kurrekurredutts" in the original 1959 edition of the book, not as "cannibals" as one reviewer mentioned. And the only reference to skin color describes how Pippi and her friends tan in the South Seas sun, making no differences at all between them and their Kurrekurredutt playmates.) A delightful book to read again and again!
A Good Comedy Book.......2002-12-05
I give this book four stars because it was not the best and not the worst. If you like comedy this is the perfect book for you. Pippi is a girl who goes on a boat with Captain Longstockings. But look who is having fun,Pippi herself! I recommend this book to those who like comedy. It is my type because I love comedy. I liked the way Pippi jumps off ropes. Pippi is a very adventurous girl.
