Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

WOW...a must read series!.......2007-03-15
A glimpse into the our past, our families lives, our history...A MUST READ! You will be hooked!
By His strength, and in His time. Outstanding once again!!.......2006-12-23
Wow! That's the only word that comes to mind after reading Lynn Austin. I picked this up with one lingering doubt in my mind, "Will this even match books 1 and 2?" They were THAT good, and Lynn Austin did her homework to the nth degree, and I'm sitting here astounded! I was wondering if she'd include Sannacherib, Hezekiah's fierce, taunting rival! Oh, she did all right, and had me sweating a time or two! She did an amazing work, and if you have yet to read this, you really are missing out. I really don't feel like putting the book down when I'm on my lunch break at work, or potty training the 2 year old, and it made me all the more crazy to get back to reading!! Yeah, now read on, right? I still have my review to do!
The theme in this would ultimately have to be trust. And for that matter, not trusting in ourselves. To me that is a gut wrenching matter. Especially when I think I need something, and it just ain't happening! When you look back on the times when you haven't trusted God, please don't feel so bad. It is called crisis, and we all go through it. King Hezekiah went through it, and he HAD to trust God. The question is, would he? If you know the story, well then you already know the answer. But let's not make it so obvious. What about Hezekiah's wife, Hephzibah, who has yet to birth a future king? She thought she was promised, yet no baby, not yet anyway! What about other people in this that we've grown to love... like Eliakim? The Assyrians are planning to attack Judah. Eliakim's wife, Jerusha knows about how beastly ONE of them can be. Will God protect them? Will they rely on God's strength, or will they lean to their own understanding? Isaiah, the prophet is still alive and well in this whole mess, and he plays a big part!
This also gives a better understanding of Passover. With a portrait more real than life, the passover is displayed to me in great awe. It really drives home the point, like for instance with the parsley dipped in salt water. Just an example, and you might really appreciate what an awesome God we serve after this. There is a lot of scripture, yet when you see it come alive, WOW!
All God asks sometimes is to simply trust Him. To put aside our strength, and to simply trust Him. Is it always easy? No way. Is it worth it? Yes it is, because I know from some tough experiences. Outstanding once again, Lynn Austin! I'm ready for more.
Good..........2006-02-18
You will mostly enjoy this book if you love biblical history or if you would like to understand it better.
First, the writting is not as smooth as more experienced authors I've read. In some places its even a bit jarring. BUT Ms Austin is certainly one thing.....a storyteller!!!
I found myself reading this book and really understanding human nature versus obeying God. It made me repent of some of my own thickheadedness and at other points it made me pray not to fall into the traps that I saw the characters fall into.
Ms Austin has worked good cause and effect into her plotting of this book. Keep up the good work Ms Austin. All in all it was a good read that makes you look introspectively at yourself and hey....thats what every author wants to accomplish...right? 8-)
terrific look at King Hezekiah's reign.......2005-11-09
King Hezekiah has returned his people to worshipping only Yahweh after the brutal paganism that highlighted the reign of his sire. With the return to praying to the One God, Judah has seen prosperity. Perhaps the only thing that has not gone right for the monarch is the lack of an heir; this especially disturbs his beloved wife Hephzibah.
Desperate to bear a male child, Hephzibah visits a pagan shrine worshiping the fertility goddess Asherahl and offers a deal to this false deity. Stunned when he learns what his wife did that broke the Commandant and the key principle to his reign, an irate Hezekiah devastates the pagan shrine. However, he is severely injured because of his berserker ranting. Once calm he knows his country's future is at stake so he turns to God for help and forgiveness for him, his wife, and their people. God answers through the prophet Isaiah who provides direction to clean his house and to select his heir.
The third tome of the fabulous Chronicles of the Kings series, THE STRENGTH OF HIS HAND, offers a terrific look at King Hezekiah's reign at a time of moral and religious crisis that threatens to destroy all he believed in and worked to achieve. Interestingly, the transgression of worshipping the false god by Hephzibah was done out of love for her spouse (good intentions can be an express way to hell). As Lynn Austin did with the insightful SONG OF REDEMPTION and GODS AND KINGS, fans will learn much about ancient Judah while cherishing this excellent work of biblical fiction.

Customer Reviews:
Faith and faith filled!.......2007-07-18
I've been nothing less then impressed with this series since book #1. And after book #4, "Faith of My Fathers," I'm still highly impressed. Taking the story of Manasseh, Lynn Austin seemingly took it, and split it into two parts. And she was quite clever with the delivery. Some might assume that this came to an abrupt ending, leaving the reader clueless. If you know your Bible, there's nothing clueless about it. This is what I'd call the II Kings version of the story. Yet in The Bible, Manasseh's story continues in II Chronicles. And it worked that way with a lot of the kings. In a lot of cases, most of the kings we read about in The Bible concerning The Northern and Southern Kingdoms were split into two different sections, II Kings, and II Chronicles. From Jehoshaphat, to Joash, to Amaziah, to Jotham, to Hezekiah, to Manasseh! ALL THESE KINGS and more were split up into the two sections. Ok, there's the Bible history lesson! What about this story? Read on!
Ahaz, Manasseh's great-grandfather, was one of the most worthless kings in all of the history. And Manasseh wasn't too far behind him. He was the son of one of the greatest kings to ever reign, Hezekiah. If you don't know the whole story and read this, you'll wonder if anything good ever came out of Manasseh. Lynn Austin, being the author, and better yet, the voice of reason, gives Manasseh a reason to be bitter, and to do what he did. But Austin gives Manasseh a childhood friend in Joshua, who's as clumsy as an Ox! His nickname is Ox. But something happens. And from nicknames to nonsense, there is a reason that these two former best friends are now bitter enemies. King Manasseh is nothing but a master of disaster, and he raises hell throughout the land! He has people executed, and he destroys what he father put together. Joshua wants nothing more then to get even.
If you're wondering if some of the things in this are extreme, they are indeed. What's worse, they really happened. But the good news is that certain people didn't forget the faith their fathers held so dear. I think that's where the title comes from. Because when times get so tough, the question is simple. Are we going to run to God, or run away from God? I'd personally suggest not running away from the great Yahweh! But I think when things get tough, you want to be a rebel just as much as Manasseh. But what do you do? Where do you turn? And for the record, by the time THIS story comes to a close, he still has a chip on his shoulder.
But there is one final installment, and it happens to be "Among The Gods." I think it should be pretty good. That's probably going to be Lynn Austin's II Chronicles part of this story. I already know the end, but I can't wait to read her novelization of it! She's a great storyteller. So far, I have yet to be disappointed.
historically awesome series.......2006-08-25
ms austin is the first female author i,ve ever read, but after reading this series on the kings of judah it's completely opened my mind to all writers;the only regret is she didn't continue on with more books in the series.
amazing 4th book!!!.......2006-07-01
Faith of my Fathers is the 4th book in Lynn Austin's Chronicles of the Kings series. After King Hezekiah's death, his son Mannasseh becomes king at age 12. Fear grips Mannasseh's heart as he begins to question God as to why his father died when he faithfully served God. Years later, as he goes to visit his mother's grave in the cemetry he comes upon a man who calls himself a "priest" and begins to accuse everything Mannasseh has grown up with and had been taught. The accussations make Mannessah call upon the prophet Isaiah and his palace adminstrator Eliakim--Mannessah's boyhood friend Joshua's father. During their conforntation King Mannessah accuses Eliakim and Isaiah of conspiring aganist him, using Isaiah's own prophecies aganist him. Eventually Eliakim and Isaiah are executed leaving Eliakim's family in great danger. Joshua and Mannasseh, once best friends have become bitter rivals. Joshua must now find a way to flee Mannasseh's terror while keeping his family safe.
I found this book to be the best out of the first four. And since they keep getting better and better I am guessing the fifth and last book to be more amazing! Lynn Austin does a wonderful job depciting the terror of Mannaseh's reign. He is simply insecure and believes everyone is plotting aganist him. Instead of turning to Yahweh he starts turning to the stars, mediums, etc. for answers. He even begins promoting orgies for worship and sets up Asherah poles and places for women to "offer" themselves to the idol goddess. I have never shed a tear in the first 3 books of this series but the beginning of the book when Eliakim and Isaiah were being falsely accussed and then executed drew a tear from me. It's amazing to see how even when confined to the darkness of a prison and facing death the next morning, these two men trusted God to the very end. I also found it exciting to read about Joshua's plans and such for smuggling himself and his family out of the country. Especially near the end he decides to smuggle the ark of the covenant and Mannasseh's brother--Prince Amariah to Eqypt.
With a host of new characters and some old ones as well this is definatly worth the read. I'm looking forward to reading "Among the Gods" and hope Lynn Austin decides to write more biblical fiction in the future. :-)

Customer Reviews:
Patience is the toughest lesson ever. Redemption is His favorite song of all!!.......2006-08-21
I picked up this with great anticipation because I loved "Gods and Kings". There was always a slight pain stabbing me deep within, because in short, I've been there. I haven't trusted, and I have certainly been bitter. So while this is about King Hezekiah, rest assured that it goes a little bit (OK, a LOT deeper) then simply that.
King Hezekiah wants and needs to become his own man. That point is obvious in and of itself. He doesn't want to be like Ahaz, and for good reason. Yet people who were under Ahaz can't fathom why Hezekiah wouldn't want change, including his own advisor, Shebna. Yet he stands firm in his faith! Doubt stares him in the face from all angles possible. His own wife doubts that Yahweh will provide an heir, and she is tempted to turn to Asherah for help. So while I related to Hezekiah, I really felt as if I'd walked in the shoes of Eliakim. Despite what his precious father believes, he doesn't WANT to believe, because it just doesn't seem possible. More than that, Eliakim wants answers, and they can't come in a timely manner for him. Yet we find Elaikim in the end surprised, and a man who knows he needs the one true God. I can personally praise God that I've improved vastly over the years, and my trust in God has expanded greatly! It has given me bold ambition at times, and I can only give God the glory for that.
The story of Jerusha is one that compares pretty vividly to the story of Francine Rivers' "Redeeming Love". She, like Eliakim, feels there is no hope for her. Yet she knows the tricks and cruelties of the Assyrian nation, and she can help Judah prepare (if it is possible against Assyria) for an attack. Now, to be quite blunt, I didn't feel that Lynn Austin would come within ear-shot of describing Assyrian culture. I figured she might be too kind and water it down so the reader wouldn't be offended. Austin holds NOTHING back, and it enhances the story beyond measure! Way to go!!
The theme I lived in this was an unshakable faith, and a staggering patience, although patience is something I still struggle with at times. Don't we all, amen? I guess reliving certain things in my own life made this a longer read. It also made it all the more appropriate. Sometimes we all need a wake up call, and this did the trick for me! Thank you, Lynn Austin!
insightful well written biblical biographical fiction.......2005-06-17
Following the blasphemy of his father, Hezekiah sits on David's throne. He wants to do the right thing for his people starting with a renewed belief in Yahweh and a cleansing of the Temple. However, adhering to the laws of Yahweh is complex and dangerous. The young monarch has enemies who make demands on him.
Making matters worse the Assyrians are demanding tribute that his country can ill afford though prosperity has begun to return. More critical to Hezekiah, he believes God will protect the Jews though his closest advisors counsel him to pray. When he meets Jerusha, a Jew who fled from Assyrian captivity; he knows he has found his queen. As the Assyrians march closer to Jerusalem, pressure on Hezekiah to abandon the Lord grows, but though he has doubts shared by his frightened spouse, he stays the course.
SONG OF REDEMPTION continues the fascinating biographical fictionalized account of King Hezekiah (see GOD AND KINGS) trying to return his people to the one God while struggling with his council recommending bowing to the Assyrians instead of Yahweh. Readers will feel they have been transplanted to biblical times as Lynn Austin brings to life Hezekiah trying to stay what he believes is the proper course that Yahweh would expect him to lead his people down. This is an insightful well written biblical biographical fiction that readers will treasure.

Book Two In Chronicals of the Kings Series!.......2005-04-24
Ms. Austin's second book in her Chronicles of the Kings series is just as good as her previous title. This story pick up where "God and Kings" leaves off and again brings tales of the Old Testament to life once again.
King Hezekiah wants to rule under God's law. His path won't be easy and he will have choices that he will have to make that will not be popular or easy. Once such choice will be to rebel against the Assyrian leaders to the North of his country. Once this decision is made tasks are taken to protect the city and the water supply. The closer his enemy comes to the city the more Hezekiah's advisors suggest that he make peace with the Assyrian's. This is not an option to the strong leader who has made a decision and will stand by it...no matter what. There is a second part to this story and it's about his choice of wife. Will he stay true to his wife Hephzibah or will he look for another to stand by his side?
Hephzibah is strong and loves her husband King Hezekiah. She is heart broken when he turns to his concubines for company and support. Than miracle of miracles he turns to her. Together they fight the enemy and become a united front. King Hezekiah finds support where he least expected to find it. Will his love for Hephzibah also bring him a small amount of peace?
Again this was a very good and descriptive read. Ms. Austin has brought this time period to life and fans of historic fiction will have their appetite sated for sure. For those that are not familiar with the bibles teachings this will be a good read for them. Ms. Austin has again brought the Old Testament to life in a way that will transport the reader back to this very turbulent time. I highly recommend Ms. Austin and her Chronicles of the Kings series.

Among The Gods: A Novel by Lynn Austin.......2007-03-09
Excellent condition, prompt delivery. Wonderful story. I couldn't put it down.
The best series I've ever read!.......2007-02-01
I've never read a series as breahtaking as this one. I could not put the books down and I still think about it when I finished reading them. I definitely look forward to many more books that Austin will offer.
Among the Gods.......2006-12-05
"Do you know that in the two years I've known you, I've never heard you laugh or seen you smile? I'll bet you have a nice smile, too. Like your mother's. She told me that A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
Joshua tried to smile, but his heart felt as if it were breaking. "Would it help you to heal faster if I laughed?"
She considered for a moment, then shook her head. "No, I think the shock would probably kill me."
He did laugh then, but it was bittersweet. He sat up and wiped the tears from her cheeks because he knew that she couldn't do it herself.
"You're right," he said. "I can't remember the last time I laughed. And I'm so tired of feeling this way. Grief has affected every area of my life--it's hamstrung my work, blinded my judgment, poisoned all my relationships--but I don't know how to shake it off. I can't get free of it."
"It isn't grief that did all that," Miriam said. "It's hatred."
Excerpt from Among the Gods by Lynn Austin
Based on the life of King Mannasseh, chronicled in the Old Testament, as well as current archeological finds of an exact replica of Solomon's temple on Elephantine Island located in the Nile near Egypt, Lynn Austin has masterfully intertwined history with both Biblical and fictional characters.
Book five of the Chronicles of the Kings series, Among the Gods follows the physical, emotional, and spiritual struggles of Joshua as he impatiently waits on Yahweh to purge Judah of its evil king, Mannasseh. As the temple is defiled by false Gods, babies are being burned in sacrificial fires, and every type of depravity scourges the land, Joshua and Prince Amariah (the king's brother) followed by a host of Levites carrying the sacred Ark of the Covenant flee to Egypt for asylum.
Joshua thinks that waiting on God to act is torturous, but understanding His ways results in being more difficult a task. Even with the enduring support and encouragement of the woman who loves him, Joshua spiritually fails God again and again.
His relationship with his Heavenly Father isn't the only one that is daunting. The one he's attempting to build stone by weary stone with his rebellious, hate-filled adopted son, Nathan, is as well.
When will Yahweh once again call his people out of Egypt to inhabit the sweet hills of Judah? Can Joshua's insatiable need to control be broken, and will he withstand the test of fatherly love despite all, so that Nathan might see God's love through him?
Lynn Austin has given life--faults and all--to her characters in a way rarely seen. I invite you to pick up Among the Gods and take a ride into Judah at one of its worst times. Feel the utter wickedness of the kingdom, experience the robe-tearing sadness of God's people, and see Yahweh's justice and forgiveness as He sets the nation aright.
I deem this work a superbly written piece of historical fiction.
Among the Gods.......2006-11-03
This book, like the others in the Chronicles of the Kings, is gripping and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. The book follows the events of the Bible and makes the story come alive. I would highly reccommend the book and all books in the series.

Inspiring From All Sides.......2007-09-17
I purchased this book as an Amazon recommended read. I was completely SHOCKED how much I loved this book! I picked it up and read it in a day.
It is an inspiring read. I love the dynamic love relationship that develops with Hezakiah and his grandfather, as well as the relationship with his mother. This story will inspired in me a renewed faith!
Sometimes as a Christian you can read bible stories and you gain the historical significance, but this book allows you to relize the personal significance and dedication to God. It was wonderful!
A Captivating Read!.......2007-07-30
The Chronicles of the Kings series are THE BEST Biblical novels I have ever read. Lynn Austin's writing is so captivating, you won't be able to put the book down! While reading this series, I actually had to make myself not even touch the book before I went to work - because several times I did just that, lost all track of time and wound up arriving late to work!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. It really fleshes out certain Biblical characters and events, enabling you to really feel involved with the Biblical accounts. They become more than just words on a page in a history book - they become living, breathing people that really walked this earth. I was pleased that the author stayed very true to the Bible. I have read novels in this genre before that took great liberties with the facts as presented in the Bible. I did not feel that this was one of those. In fact, the author uses direct quotes from the Bible at all times when the prophets delivered their prophecies! At the front of the book, the author lists the scriptures used to write the story and encourages you to study it more deeply.
This is a well-written, page-turning, true-to-the-Word book that will keep you reading for hours and deepen your appreciation for God's love and grace. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
This series really bring situations in the Bible "to life".......2007-05-19
Every now and then, I enjoy "escaping reality" by reading a good Scriptural (and historical) based novel. I purchased the first book, "Gods and Kings" at a discount store, not even knowing that it was part of a series, and could not wait until I found it's sequels! I have read all 5 of the "Chronicles of the Kings" series and I hope that Lynn Austin writes more sequels to this particular series.
I did get a bit confused at Amazon's website while looking for the rest of this series, so I am going to list them here in order for the convenience of future buyers:
book 1 "Gods And Kings"
book 2 "Songs Of Redemption"
book 3 "The Strength Of His Hand"
book 4 "Faith Of My Fathers"
book 5 "Among The Gods"
Another author whose sequel I am eagerly awaiting is Ellen Gunderson Traylor's "Jerusalem The City Of God - Part Two", also set in Old Testament times. These types of books really "take you back in time" to the way that things really were.
Page Turner!.......2007-03-31
My son-in-law had been encouraging me to read this series for some time, so I decided to try it. I imagined it would be slow, but good for the biblical knowledge it held. Well, by the end of the first page I was hooked and could not put the book down. This book gave depth and insight to the lives of Ahaz and Hezekiah. Two totally different men;Godly and ungodly. Although the account was some time ago, our world is really not so different. With each page you can relate to the characters and the life lessons they go thru. It reads like a Joan of Arc or Gladiator movie. I belive Lynn Austin was truly inspired by God to write these books. I am now on book three!
Great Book on Bible History!.......2006-12-28
Lynn Austin wove a wonderful story during a very critical time in bible history. You will be taken back in time to a place that comes alive with the struggles of life and belief in God against all odds.

Book Description
This pioneering study wrestles with the perpetual problem of chronology in the Books of Kings. Starting from the conservative assumptions that the courts of Israel and Judah maintained regnal records, and that these for the most part accurately reflect regnal length, the author arrives at a new and persuasive dating for the reigns and their synchronisms. In addition, his chronological scheme includes all points of contact between Israel and Judah and external powers, especially Assyria. The result is one of the most responsible and yet most critical chronologies proposed to date, and will be the standard chronological reference for the next decade, if not longer.

My Father's God.......2006-03-25
I love this series! Lynn Austin has a very good writing style that captures and holds your attention immediately. I look foward to reading book 5 and would reccommend everyone read these books.
My Father's God.......2004-11-28
This is the first Lynn Austin novel I have read. I took it on vacation and could not put it down, reading into the wee hours of the night. Now that I finished, I want to read the others in the series but have found that many are no longer available. This book was a great picture of how when we allow small sin into our lives, we become hardened and the bigger sins don't seem as big anymore. It really brought the biblical story to life in an interesting way for me. It was interesting also to see how one can twist scripture to decieve someone into believing God approved of child sacrifice, and temple ladies. I'd recommend the book to all.
On my third set . . ........2003-07-02
I love this series so much that I have had to replace the entire set three times. I lend them out and they disappear!
These are by far the finest novels that Ms. Austin has written. I was drawn into the story, and I just couldn't put the books down. Ms. Austin provides Scriptural references so it is easy to see what she is basing her story on. After reading the Scriptures, elements in the story that are taken right out of the Bible are easily discerned from those that the writer may be taking an artist license with. It breathed life into these characters and made them very relevant to me.
I immediately began reading the remaining books in the series, and every one was a delight. I enthusiastically recommend the series.
Manasseh's story is challenging and a must-read........1997-08-11
I received this book hot off the press in July. This is by far the best of the Chronicles of Kings series by Lynn Austin. Her grasp of the historical and current implications of Manasseh's dilemnas and reactions to situations indicates the depth of her research. Lynn depicts a man torn by trying to develop his own sense of worth and his fear of not living up to the legend of his father. Being Hezekiah's son attached certain expectations to Manasseh's reign, but Manasseh's lack of character is soon recognized. Read about this turbulent time and feel the characters come to life. I found it difficult to put this book down and became emotionally involved in the lives of the characters. Read the first three in the series but don't miss this one - by far the best yet from this author. I can hardly wait for the next sequel in this series!

How strong is Hezekiah's love for God? Find Out!.......1997-03-20
Can one little lie mean so much to Hezekiah? When his wife does not produce an heir, his faith seems to flag. His wife takes desparate measures to ensure fertility but without Hezekiah's knowledge. With all that is going on in his kingdom he does not become aware of her duplicity until it's almost too late. Her betrayal of Hezekiah's love cuts to the very core of his being and his belief in God. Can Hezekiah ever recover from this deceipt, find the strength that God supplied in the past and renew his love for his wife? Where will God lead Hezekiah in his fight for correcting the wrongs of the past? Be sure to read the conclusion of this trilogy. The message depicts a conflict that is raging around us even today! See what the answers are for obtaining strength and peace in a world in conflict. Look for her next series based on the life of Manasseh, the son of Hezekiah. Biblical adherents as well as those unschooled in Bible history will love these books. A clear insite into the history of Hezekiah through one of Israel's more difficult times
Book Description
With a newfound faith in the one true God, King Hezekiah leads his nation into reform and revival, bringing God’s blessings and renewed prosperity. But not every member of his court is pleased with the king’s ’religious fanaticism.’ And when Hezekiah stops paying tribute to Assyria, opposition to his leadership mounts. As Hezekiah seeks to obey God in every aspect of his life, he discovers that the Law forbids him to take multiple wives. He chooses Hephzibah. Their God-given love flourishes, but even here Hezekiah’s faith will be severely tested. The king’s precarious hold on the throne of Judah reaches critical proportions when the Assyrians invade the northern nation of Israel. A holocaust ensues, inciting ever closer to Judah and Jerusalem. One Israelite family escapes to Judah, including the young woman who just might carry the critical information Hezekiah needs to augment Jerusalem’s defense. But with the Assyrians on the march, and his fortifications no match for their strength, can anyone really help? Paper.

Soaring above its class, this is top-drawer writing.......1999-09-16
The writing is well-done; the content is well-researched, inspirational, provoking AND entertaining!
Outstanding combination of prophecy, history, and fiction........1999-02-28
In this book, Austin aligns the brief Biblical account of King Hezekiah to the words of the prophets of the times along an exciting line of fiction. Prophecies, often confusing or misunderstood suddenly come alive as they are placed into everyday situations and applied to specific situations. This book creates in your mind a thrilling scene of the reality of the despair of Israel and Judah and an understanding of the great compassion Yaweh has for his Chosen People. After reading this book, you will never read prophecy the same again.
