Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

When Business Women were just that............2005-09-21

I knew a fair amount about Helena Rubenstein, but knew little about her rival Elizabeth Arden, and this book pulled no punches about their rivalry. It was a time when those two created their own fortunes and companies from the ground up, something that doesn't seem to happen in the cosmetic industry today. It seems all you have to do is be a "media darling," sign a contract, and your name is plastered all over all kinds of products. Helena may have been rithless to those around her, but Miss Arden seemed to take great delight in backstabbing and the like. I'm sure I'm prejudiced, but Madame Rubenstein, albeit tiny, cut a regal figure,and to me,Miss Arden was a bit on the frumpy side. A very enjoyable book for those interested in the battle between those two.

Two Women With Similar Ideals.......2004-12-27

Rubinstein and Arden had a rivalry that you might compare to that of Jack Benny and Fred Allen--i.e. one largely conducted for publicity reasons. Lindy Woodhead has donesome amazing research, can you imagine, she spent months kneeling on the floors of Krakow parishes to find just the right birth certificate for Helena (nee Chaja) Rubinstein--not an easy thing to do, especially given the fact that Rubinstein lied about her age by several years! And in every case Woodhead goes the extra nine yards to try to distinguish what is true and what is false about her two millionairesses. They were among the first to sell American women the "culture of beauty," to insist that the cosmetics they sold would bring the consumer a whole zeitgeist of pleasure, not just individual beauty treatments. To this end they conspired with Madison Avenue and devised decades worth of intriguing, perhaps misleading advertisements.

In the end what lets us down is the feeling that perhaps the two women aren't actually that different, and it gets confusing trying to remember their slight differences--which of the two was four feet ten, while the other was five foot two? A depressing business saga of how the mass public can be manipulated with great success, but they will pay you back in the most final way--they will forget you as soon as you're not alive any more.

War Paint.......2004-02-18

This is such a juicy story. Elizabeth Arden and Helena Rubinstein were two glamorous divas, who come to life and the stories of their personal and business lives are fascinating. The author describes the rivalry between these two women with rich details, describing how their animosity fueled their growing empires. The story is even more interesting because of the times in which they lived, and Woodhead does a great job of explaining their very glamorous social circles. I can't wait to share this book with my friends, especially those who love fashion.

Feminism In Our Time should be on the shelf of all women. This book gives the reader a quick understanding of the many women who have fought for women's rights. The book includes writing by so many women who have been important to women's rights. Reading these stories will offer insight into where women have come from. Additionally, reading these stories will help us to realize how far we still have to go for equality for both women and men.

If you are already a convert, you'll love this stuff. But if you're a curious scholar, like me, you're going to find this tough sledding at times. I don't like the way the book is organized. But I think most thinking people will find it a useful roadmap into the minds of feminists and it's a good place for men to begin if they want to get a handle on this important movement. Like it or not, the feminists are here to stay.

Should be required reading in school.......2001-07-20

Feminists of each generation, I think, have to do a lot of reinventing of the wheel. We don't know our own history, and although in 2001 we take for granted the ideas that women can be professional athletes or CEOs, that families are not all alike, that equal pay for equal work is fair and right...these ideas were once radical, and not that long ago. Likewise, in the 1970s universal suffrage was taken for granted...and the struggles of women activists in the 1920s were forgotten. This is a valuable collection of writings which gives us some of that history back. It covers important feminist thought from 1949 to 1993. This book holds important lessons for all of us, on religion, rape, health, pornography, family, race, sexual orientation...all manner of relevant and fascinating work.

For those who love women's history.......2001-05-17

Miriam Schneir's book, "Feminism in Our Time..." is an EXCELLENT text full of wonderful bits of powerful moments in American women's history. Her text features the work (in the form of essays, excerpts from books, speeches, or manifestos) of such authors as Simone de Beauvoir, Betty Friedan, Shulamith Firestone, Kate Millet, Anne Koedt, Adrienne Rich, and Anita Hill. In addition, at the beginning of each chapter and before each piece from these and other authors, Schneir provides crucial historical information. The experience of reading the works within this text will undoubtedly move any reader who has a passion for women's history (and for those who don't yet have the passion, this text will spark it) and inspire you to read more!!

Ken Follett is among the best at writing thrillers that hook you and never let you go.

In interviews, he acknowledged that "Eye of the Needle" was his breakthrough novel. It surely deserves all the praise it has received.

In 1940, the The Abwehr, (German Intelligence), has planted their finest agent in Great Britain---code name "The Needle." Using the name Henry Faber, he works as a railway clerk and attempts to be invisible.

Using his bicycle for transportation, he observes all the war preparations and anything that would be helpful for the German bombers.

As the war progresses, Faber continues his adroit undercover work---radioing the info back to The Fatherland.

Meanwhile the Allies are utilizing a disinformation campaign designed to convince the Germans that the European Invasion (D-Day) will take place at Pas de Calais. Ships and tanks that are merely rubber and timber, barracks that were a movie set, etc. were utilized to persuade the enemy that Patton had a huge Army ready to invade.

Double agents that MI5 had turned churned out radio reports furthering the deception.

If the Germans learn of the great ruse, thousands could be lost. The Needle chances upon the phony barracks and tanks and knows this info must be delivered in person to the Fuhrer.

However, he has to eliminate some Allied soldiers who spot him as he leaves the fake army base. Their discovery leads to cat and mouse chase.

His escape via U-Boat 505 off the North Sea coast is hampered by a violent squall grounding all sea and air transportation. Faber is shipwrecked on a remote rock island with four inhabitants. There he must perpetuate his counterfeit persona until the weather clears.

Meanwhile, MI5 is closing in while working on the scant clues Faber leaves in his wake. They too are hampered by the weather.

The novel moves at a measured pace that heightens the suspense with each turn of the page. Faber is great villain whose cunning keeps him a step ahead MI5. The crew from MI5 are dogged in their pursuit and thorough in the procedural methodology. It is a remarkable match up.

Using an economical cast, all the characters are fully fleshed out. You know everyone quite well.

While the last 48 hours before the weather clears are intensely gripping, the entire narrative is mesmerizing and attention grabbing. This is a breathtaking "what if" take on an important slice of history.

Since we all know how WWII turned out, the outcome may never be in doubt...but how MI5 closes the trap is a superb ride.

Intriguing and breath-taking as Ken Follett is, a great thriller, with a very charismatic and well outlined woman character, and a realistic spy whose personality unfolds as the plot proceeds. A must read.

Another Great Installment.......2007-09-01

Kat Bowen is living in Washington D.C. during the woman's fight for the vote. Her own mother is among the woman picketing outside the White House Kat writes down her own views and opinions during this time. She supports her mother but at the same time worries about her mother. Especially after Kat sees how women picketing are being treated. She also witnesses trouble in her family when her uncle is so against the picketing and noting of women voting to the point it almost ruins the marriage of her aunt and uncle. Its amazing how badly picketers were treated and at the same time the women who did picket and go through the hunger strikes and horrible time in jail they were all so brave. An excellent book.

Kat Bowen is a thirteen year old Washingtonian girl. Her family is generally wealthy, and she has a s many friends as she could need. Her cousin is her best friend, Alma, and her father is a well known and widely respected physician. But when the first World War and the women sufferage in her own home city begin to take the spotlight in her life, Kat finds herself being pulled deeper in with each day. Her mother decides to become a sufferagete, and her father supports her.
But Kat's uncle, Alma's father, is outraged, and refuses to allow the womenin her family to participate. Kat decides to help her mother sew banners for the suffragete movement, and do other deeds to help the women.
Real characters are incorperated into the book, which is one of the reasons as to why it is such a good historical reference. Another success in the Dear America Series.

One of the Best in the Series.......2005-10-09

A Time for Courage by Kathryn Lasky is one of my all-time favorite books in the Dear America historical fiction series. It is not particularly my favorite era of American history, but it is so well-written and interesting you just fall right in.
Kathleen Bowen's mother, aunt, older sister, and best friend's mother are all deeply involved in women's suffrage and equality rights, living in Washington D.C., 1917. Kathleen's father does not approve only because he worries for his wife's safety---many women have been arrested and beaten by police for protesting outside the White House. Yet Kathleen's friend's father disapproves of his wife's antics because he is a bit of a sexist. Soon, Kathleen becomes involved with the rights of women everywhere, just like her sisters and mother.
This timeless addition in Dear America will please all, and I promise you shall not be able to put it down. All the protagonists are extremely likable, and this book is just indescribably great. I just can't put it to words. READ IT!

Great book.......2003-11-17

I have read many books in the dear America series and this one is one of my favorites. I liked it because in addition to being well written it's also exciting. Not only does Kathleen Bowen's mother Join the picket line and get arrested, but America also joins the first World War. Kathleen's sister and cousin leave to become nurses in Europe on the front. So not only was the book fun to read, but I also learned a lot about the suffrage movement.

An unusual holocaust tale.......2005-10-26

This is the story of a French singer who spent 2± years in a Nazi concentration camp. Saved because of her musical abilities, FF spent her internment as a member of an all-women's orchestra which played for the camp's leaders. It is a strange tale, not especially well or clearly written--essentailly stuff for a holocaust junkey. Compared to Martin Goldsmith's The Unestinquishable Symphony, this book is definitely second tier.

The madness of the camps and the masters spotlighted.......2002-12-15

The story has been known for many years, but this book puts in focus, by a survivor, the insanity of a lesser known action then the case at Auschwitz. A well told personal experience by someone willing to put down for history something that needed to be said. No matter how many years I've studied, and the many survivors I've known who have shared fragments, this clear telling in print for generations to come is a treasure.

This is an absolutely incredible book. An already powerful story it is taken to a new level by the constant reminder that this is first hand experience.

It is perfect for nearly anyone, the musician will relate to the music, the historian to the accuracy and the avid reader will simply latch on and be unable to let go.

Playing for Time, a grade-A book by Fania Fenelon, is a document not only about the Holocaust, but one that goes deeper: it shows how music brought redemption of spirit in the Hell of Hells. She is accepted in to the orchestra, where she is forced to sing the opera Madame Butterfly for the SS. Fania does not let the hardships of the camp take over her spirit, though. She uses music as a weapon, and, as an orchestrator as well as singer for the group, she orchestrates marches by Jews and anti-Nazis right under the noses of her captors, who never catch on. Fania's love of music allows her to survive Auschwitz, and when she is sent with the rest of the "Orchestra Girls" to Bergen-Belsen near the end of the war, her passion for life pulls her through a severe case of typhus. One day she learns that the Nazis are going to shoot the prisoners of Bergen-Belsen at 3:00 that afternoon. The English arrive at the camp at 11:00 that same morning. Fania just barely survived the war, and afterwards she returned to Paris and started again as a caberet singer. She died of cancer in her hometown in 1983. Playing for Time teaches us many things. I read this book a number of years ago. It left an indelible mark. It is the story of women survivors in a concentration camp. They literally "played for time," with musical instruments. The movie "Life is Beautiful" brought this book to mind this week. That is why I looked it up. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in reading about courage in the face of adversity. The remarkable will to survive demonstrated by the women portrayed in this book is inspiring and unforgettable.

In the description of this book it states that Patsy died in a car accident but that isn't true. She died in a plane crash on March 5, 1963 in Camden, TN. Makes me wonder what else in this book isn't accurate.

If you want a biography of Patsy Cline, save your money and do not buy this book. You will be much happier with Patsy Cline: Honky Tonk Angel by Ellis Nassour. This author adds nothing to Patsy's story but a lot of boring dribble.

The Life and Times of Patsy Cline.......2007-05-07

I really enjoyed reading this book. If you are a true Patsy Cline fan you would like this book. People who knew Patsy shared some stories and the way Patsy really was. It also shares some of Patsy's ancestors history and the way things were back then and so on. I thought this was a very good book.

Could have been a better biography.......2007-03-27

This biography of Patsy Cline is a good read, but certainly not a great one. After reading every word on every page of the first few chapters I found myself skipping alot of paragraphs that were too detailed about the genre of country-western music during the 1950's and 1960's. I skipped these portions of the book and didn't feel like I had missed anything important about Patsy Cline's personal life and career. Also, there is alot of repetition such as how plain spoken she was and how she told things like she saw them whether people liked it or not. This is said over and over and over again. While the background info on her family was interesting and did help me understand why Patsy was like she was, alot of the detailed info about the recording industry was unnecessary. This book could have been a lot better by simply leaving out some of the material and making it shorter. It can be a tedious read at times, but it is worth reading.

Trilogy? Really??.......2007-06-09

I'm a great fan of this trilogy, which at its best is sparky, inventive, and enormous escapist fun. But as other reviewers have pointed out, the third instalment comes no closer to a conclusion than before.

The first book of the series, Knight Errant, begins in 1459, when Edward of March is sent to the 21st century by witchcraft. The first scene in the Middle Ages proper takes place in April 1460. The third book of the series takes us up to late February 1461. Three novels to cover ten months! By the end of this one, Edward of March is *still* not King of England. All the elements for future conflict are set up: Elizabeth Wydville, Edward's real wife historically, is a major character, and even his future mistress Jane Shore appears. But Edward didn't marry Elizabeth until 1464. At this rate, it'll take another forty novels or thereabouts to get us to their wedding!

It's really disappointing to get through all three novels and still have no hint of a resolution. I don't know if Robertson is planning a fourth, but really, how long can they go on? Robyn's spats with Gilbert FitzHolland are getting very tedious, as the reader knows by now that a) whichever part of England she's in, FitzHolland will miraculously be there too, and b) that she'll always escape from him.

Robyn's modern Californian friend Heidi is a character in this one, which is unfortunate, as she does very little except hit on Robyn and perform intimate acts on Owen Tudor. On the plus side, the appearance of Henry Beaufort, Duke of Somerset livens the narrative up considerably.

It's difficult, if not impossible, to accept Robyn's ignorance about the Wars of the Roses, given her familiarity with Shakespeare, whose plays she can quote endlessly from memory, including some of the history plays. Even if she knows very little about Richard III, surely anyone would know that he's often said to have murdered his nephews? Why would she not realise the identity of Edward's young brother?

In many ways, I'm so enamoured of this whole series, for its freshness, originality and downright enjoyability - but I really can't recommend them any more. There's only so many Yorkist-Lancastrian battles described in minute detail, so many love scenes between Edward and Robyn, so many scenes where FitzHolland threatens to kill her, so much witchcraft, a reader can take.

Much of the writing seems self-indulgent, and the numerous typos are pretty distracting. Edward's romantic persona seems increasingly at odds with the ruthless soldier and politician he is. And his love for Robyn, a woman much his senior and a witch from the future to boot, starts to seem increasingly implausible - as does all the characters' placid acceptance that Robyn comes from 'Holy Wood, far beyond Brazil' and has wondrous gadgets from 500-odd years in the future.

If a fourth book ever appears, I will read it, to see how the story ends - because the fourth one really *has* to be the last. Please, Mr Robertson - finish the story, tie up all the loose ends, and put me out of my misery!

It's up and down............2006-08-10

This third book in R. Garcia Y Robertson's series, is both up and down, literarily and personally. One has to commend the author for being a MAN writing a WOMAN'S story, so the story is kind of fun in that regard. But the book was slower than the first two, and as a student of history, I know it can't end well for the main heroine. Since Edward marries her nemesis (unless the author SERIOUSLY rewrites history) I don't know how he will conclude this series, though I am still curious. I would suggest this if you are looking for an easy summer read, with more thrills than your average beach read - though history buffs beware! It's disappointing. Read Gabaldon for the drama or Penman for the history... this just falls in between and behind.

Good, but looking for more.......2005-08-27

I read through the first two books quite rapidly because I thought they were very romantic and interesting. I never knew much about the Wars of the Roses, and after reading the books i read more about them with great interest. Of course after reading about the true history I desperately hope that Robyn will change history for the better. Especially after i read who Edward really married.
I really enjoyed this third book until the end, I can now see why the other reviewers were disappointed. I was swept along in a compelling romance only for it to be knocked down at the end. I left dissapointed and upset for Robyn. I'm sure there's going to be a continuation of the series from what I've read on other web sites, and i do hope the author will "make it up" to us, continuing on the romantic adventurous theme of the first two books and the first half of the third.
I did enjoy the series and i recommend them to anyone who enjoys historical romance. I enjoyed the focus on women and the witcraft Robyn gets into, that part just gets better especially with the witches flight to Avignon.

Disappointing..........2005-06-09

...I've plowed through all three books in this series in the past two weeks, and this one was by far the most disappointing. Since I was under the impression this was a trilogy, I kept waiting for the loose ends to be tied up, but the book ended so abruptly and oddly that I, like another reviewer, checked the book to make sure it wasn't missing pages.

Although the historical details are interesting, and the character of Robyn is more and more appealing, the narration throughout the series is flat, and many of the characters are one-dimensional, particularly Edward. The author likes to tell us things that we wouldn't know otherwise, and he repeats key plot points throughout the books, as if he thinks the reader can't keep up.

Other minor irritations are the alarmingly frequent misspellings, typos, and incorrectly structured sentences. I'm talking frequent to the point of distraction from the story.

I'll probably read book four if there ever is one, because I'm so far in now, I need to see how the story is resolved, particularly in light of historical facts. But I certainly hope book four is better than this one.

Let's Get to the End of the Story!.......2005-05-15

White Rose is the third in R. Garcia y Robertson's Gabaldonesque series about Robyn Stafford, former Miss Rodeo Montana and minor Hollywood executive, who is sent by witches back to the Wars of the Roses, where she falls in love with Edward March, the elder brother of Richard III and father of "the Princes in the Tower". At this time, however, Edward is only 17 (later 18), unmarried, without children. Over the first two books, Robyn bounces back and forth in time, becomes Lady Robyn of Pontefract, also becomes very popular, has lots and lots of sex with Edward, and makes enemies among the Lancastrians and especially among the Wydvilles. I don't know enough about that era in history to know if she has actually changed any yet. It's clear that she must change history or only unhappiness awaits.

In this book she manages to get back to 1461, more or less by accident bringing along her nymphomaniac employee, Heidi. Heidi proves useful in a number of ways, mostly protecting Robyn's virtue by seducing away men who wish to rape Robyn. The two wander across Wales, sometimes captured by bad guys, then sometimes escaping. Robyn eventually meets Edward, only to get capture again, and again escape, just ahead of the headman's axe. There are a couple of battles, another threat of execution, a return to besieged London, and a little bit more sex. Oh, and Robyn is pregnant.

I had thought this was supposed to be a trilogy, but it's not -- this book seems no closer to a conclusion than before. It's all getting rather tedious. The writing in particular is lax and self-indulgent. I feel a certain pressure to get to the end because I want to see if Robyn changes history for the good, but boy it's taking a long time getting there.
