The Message of a Master.......2007-05-06
This is a short book with a wonderful story. I love this book, I have read it many times. It is very inspiring, sometimes you see it in the bookstores but it's hard to find. I loved it so much I bought if for a friend. The message is short and simple, the best books are the ones that get to the point quickly. Very good book.
Message of a Master.......2007-03-10
If you like "The Secret", you will love this book. It is very small and deceivingly very simple but I found it very profound. I couldn't find anything about the author which intriqued me. There seems to be alot of books out like this really talking about the same "Laws of Attraction", with a different way of presenting the material. This book struck a chord with me.
Amazing book!.......2006-07-30
This book gives you an approach very similar to the Soka Gakkai Buddhism, same idea, different wording. This is a very simple book, that will blow your mind. that book changed my life, in a very deep way. I'm telling you, just do it, believe in it, it works!
The Truth .......2005-09-24
If the process of manifestation suggested in this book were to be sincerely followed, you can manifest your own reality.
As someone who has read innumerable 'secret of success ' books , I hold very high regard for this book because I have had
practical demonstrations of its truths.
The one point that the master does not dwell upon is while visualizing the desired situation , one has to pour deep feelings
of joy and gratitude to 'Infinite Intelligence' , 'Intelligent substance ' or God according to your predisposition.
If the appropriate visual blends with your thoughts and feelings and if you can sustain the mental image along with the
thoughts and feelings about the desired manifestation you will see that what was once in your consciousness is now in your
surroundings ( 'As it is within , so it is without ').
I want to quote Swami Vivekananda here -- " Imagination properly employed is our greatest friend ; it goes beyond reason and
is the only light that takes us everywhere ".
It is natural to be skeptical about these topics, but all a person needs is one specific ( be very specific ) manifestation.
I also suggest you to read " The Way Out " by Anonymous , " Door of Everything " by Ruby Nelson , " It Works " by RHJ. Proper
study of these books will help you gain deeper understanding and help you manifest your own reality.
Truth is way stranger than fiction. Have patience and strong will to manifest.
You can create your own miracles.
Good luck.
It is all so simple.......2005-07-29
I have read many books that reveal the essential truths. This book, however has both a simplcity and a new insight that has not only provided me with new insights, it works when placed into action. It does not require years of learning, rather you can begin to experience a change imeediately.

BEAUTIFUL AND LOVING BOOK!!!!!.......2007-06-17
Must admit that I am probably biased since my daughter,Dina Dembicki, was involved in the "making" of this beautiful tribute to the drivers and their "kids". Having seen what it takes to put it together makes me appreciate it all the more. Dina spent 12 to 18 hours a day doing the layout and putting the book together. As the Design and Print Production, Graphic Arts person, she spent every moment loving this book. Ryan and Krissie Newman are not only wonderful human beings and loving "pet parents" they are generous with their time and aid for all living animals. The Ryan Newman Foundation is responsible for the Catawba County Humane Society's new housing facility for which this book donated all net proceeds to the new building construction. These are the kind of folks who can be assured to make it to Heaven!! This book is now in it's 2nd printing thanks to all animal and NASCAR lovers who bought one. My thanks to them and everyone else responsible for making this book such an astounding success. By the way, Krissie is even prettier than her photo!
LOVE IT.......2007-05-15
I love this book!! I love the Nascar drivers and how they show their love for their pets!!
A BEAUTIFUL BOOK FOR A GREAT CAUSE.......2007-03-14
This is a BEAUTIFUL book that provides funds for a GREAT CAUSE. NASCAR driver Ryan Newman and his wife, Krissie, have made humane treatment of animals their personal mission. It is encouraging to see a young couple consciously chooses to "GIVE BACK." Buy this book for the cause as much as for the enjoyment!
Pit Road Pets.......2007-02-21
This is a WONDERFUL book for anyone who loves pets and NASCAR. The photos are wonderful. The stories show these NASCAR people just like families everywhere who love their pets. Great read. Easy book to read "a little at a time".
This was a fun book!.......2007-01-09
This book was alot of fun to read and had great pictures. I am a dog lover and a Nascar fan so this book was perfect. It helps you get to know your favorite driver by the type of pet he has and the stories about them. You will not be disappointed by this one.

Here's What I Think.......2007-03-05
I searched for what I thought would be the best biography out on Will Rogers and decided on this one, even though it seemed to lack information following his death. I read it, it's good and pretty complete----until Rogers dies. Then it just stops. There is no information given about the funeral--which I understand was absolutely enormous--35000 people in attendance. I like biographies to follow through with funeral and burial information, and Yagoda just drops it here. With all the researching these writers do on books, to go the extra step and give us this information wouldn't hurt. Very disappointed on this point. Yagoda lets us down here.
Lively and Insightful.......2003-02-05
I heartily recommend this book not only to those interested in Will Rogers but also anyone interested in the evolution of American popular culture. Yagoda does an excellent job of writing about the people and events shaping Will's life and work. He does not succumb to sentimentality (perhaps going overboard in trying to prove that Will was not perfect). My only regret is he could have researched Cherokee culture and history more thoroughly, which would have explained a great deal more about Will and his family. Otherwise, very compelling reading.
The best book on Will Rogers currently available.......2002-05-25
This is probably the best biography of Will Rogers currently available. It is comprehensive, insightful, well researched, and balanced. My only complaint with it is that it ends somewhat abruptly. Yagoda touches briefly on the legacy of Will Rogers after his death, but he could have said a great deal more. Rogers's death evoked profound mourning across the US and the rest of the world, and it would have been nice if he had focused a bit more on that. His analysis, however, of why Rogers gradually ceased to be what he was in his own time--arguably the most popular American who ever lived--is very helpful. I had always found his comparative demise to be quite perplexing, and Yagoda does a superb job of explaining this phenomenon.
One of the greatest virtues of the book is that it does not, like many books on Rogers, engage in hagiography. Will Rogers was a very good, compassionate, honest man. Any book on his will show that. He had his faults, but as presented by Yagoda, they do not diminish the man, whatever it may do to the myth. For instance, Yagoda insightfully points out that while Rogers was rightfully lauded for his wisdom and insight, his thought was marred by an inability to comprehend genuine evil. One is left wondering what Rogers's response to Hitler's behavior in the years just after Rogers's death, and what he would have been able to say about the moral complexities of the Second World War. On the other hand, I would very much have welcomed Rogers as a voice of reason during the days of the Communist Witch Hunts.
Anyone interested in Rogers is strongly encouraged to read this book. I would also like to recommend the first chapter in Lary May's THE BIG TOMORROW. This book is a study of the social dimensions of American cinema from the thirties through the fifties. The first and best chapter is about Will Rogers, and remains the best thing that I have read about Will Rogers. I strongly recommend both books.
very interesting.......1998-07-31
this is a great book, it has so much information on life in turn of the century America and vaudville. Also interesting stories of cowboys and indians in will rogers life.it drags alittle in places but for the most part is very enjoyable.
Good overview of Rogers.......1998-02-02
This book gives a good insight into Wills role as world traveler, vaudville comedian, wild west show star, the Ziegfield Follies, movie actor, reporter and familly man. The 20th Centurys Renisance Man
Book Description
Will Rogers was America. Part Cherokee Indian and former cowboy, he captivated audiences around the world with sparkling gems of wisdom cloaked in gentle and uproarious country wit and astonishing rope tricks. His colorful life recently inspired a commercially successful and critically acclaimed Broadway musical -- winner of 6 Tony Awards. His words are as entertaining, inspiring and revelant today as they ever were.
A simple, plain-spoken man, he was the voice of a nation during the '20s and '30s. Movie star, vaudeville headliner, radio commentator, his views and observations were syndicated daily and weekly in over 600 newspapers across the country.
Here is the essential Will Rogers -- the story of his remarkable career, from Oklahoma "cowpuncher" to international star . . . and the warm, knowing and hilarious philosophies of the man embodied the heart and soul of the nation.

A solid introduction to a fascinating human being.......2002-03-17
Although this book neither as a biography nor as an anthology of the sayings and writings of Will Rogers explores its subject in any depth, this is a very solid introduction to one of the most fascinating individuals in American history. As a biography, Joseph Carter manages to give an excellent, if brief, summation of the major events in Rogers's life. The last part of the book collects a number of Rogers's better-known sayings. This section is a bit more disappointing, since most of the excerpts are presented somewhat out of the larger context. Sometimes, this doesn't matter. But having read some longer pieces by Rogers's, I find that it doesn't enable the reader to get an adequate feel for the kinds of concerns that Rogers had as a political and social thinker.
Rogers was a humorist, but concerns with political and social issues permeate his work. He was also an enormously complex thinker. Although there was a quaint simplicity and humility to the way Rogers expressed himself, he actually worked out a political position that wasn't entirely at home on either the Right or the Left side of the political spectrum. Although he was in most respects of liberal sympathies, he was almost libertarian in the way he yearned for a small central government that didn't intrude into the lives of everyday individuals. He was profoundly suspicious of big government. At the same, time, he was profoundly non-libertarian in being even more suspicious of big business and capitalism. His sympathies, however, were definitely populist.
Rogers was simultaneously one of the most popular stage performers, movie performers, radio personalities, and political writers of his day, and arguably one of the, if not THE, most popular Americans ever to have lived. This excellent volume will provide the neophyte with a good introduction to all these aspects of Rogers's life and career.
I do believe, however, that we desperately need a good, in-depth anthology of the writings of Will Rogers. I would love to see the Library of America bring out a volume dedicated to Will Rogers. Until they or someone else does this, I am afraid that Rogers will be remembered more as the author of pithy one-liners than as what he was: the most influential political commentator of his day.
Great book for reading-check it out!.......2001-10-18
Excellent reading book combining both a biography and familiar quotations--and writings--from America's best-loved cowboy humorist who lit up the film screen and the radio airwaves during the Roaring 20s and the New Deal 30s. This is a great book for reading--stop by a local bookstore and check it out!
Great book about a great man........1998-11-28
Every school library should have this book! Todays young people need to know about Will Rogers and this book tells it all in great style.
Author's Note.......1998-02-04
After working on Broadway with the producers of "The Will Rogers Follies: A Life in Revue," Avon editor Mark Gompertz suggested I write this book. Lisa Considine was my inspired and inspiring editor. I divided the book one-half to biography and one-half to Will Rogers' own words. It has sold more than 82,000. Several newspapers and pundits gave it good reviews. Avon continues to print and stock the book. Beyond my position as director of the Will Rogers museum of Claremore, Oklahoma and the 400-acre 1879 birthplace and living history ranch near the tiny town of Oologah, I have spent most of my life as a newsman and speech writer. I invite comments about the book and will be happy to respond. If you buy the book and drop by the museum in Claremore, I generally am available to personalize your copy. The price offered here is the best bargain I have seen for the book. Thanks for your interest. Joseph H. Carter, Box 157 Claremore, Oklahoma 74018.
Book Description
From one of the most prominent names in climbing today, a full-color, comprehensive guide to a sport experiencing a renaissance.
"Mixed climbing is my favorite discipline. It's the most fun because it has the fewest rulessort of like professional wrestling compared to boxing." So says Will Gadd, as profiled in Fifty Favorite Climbs. Here the champion ice climber presents the same techniques and veteran wisdom he imparts to those who attend his annual clinics. These include: step-by-step instructions for the swing (ice axe), the kick (footwork), and putting it all together (tracking); how to "read" ice to select your line and follow it safely; and drytool techniques for mixed climbing. Training exercises and inspirational stories complete this seminal guide.
This is the seventh installment in The Mountaineers Outdoor Expert Series
Customer Reviews:
Good material, presentation problematic.......2005-01-07
This is one of the latest guides on ice climbing. It therefore covers the most modern techniques, is up to date with equipment, and has great color photos. Written by Will Gadd it definitely has the flair of an individual author, reads more like a pro's guide than a technical reference. The type of material covered and order is great. However, the editing of this guide is severely lacking. It suffers from incorrect captions, bad figure references, transposed terms (convex vs concave) and complex procedures described in steps that tend to get you lost in confusion rather than clarify.
If you're an already accomplished ice climber, there will be a few "take home" concepts ("tracking"/cycling vertical progression, and his personal take on mix climbing techniques for instance). A beginner will benefit more from this guide (after reading twice to work around the editing problems).
A second edition, edited properly, will be a top-notch guide on this sport.
Great for Beginner / Intermediates.......2004-11-15
Written in thoughtful and lively fashion, Gadd distills his 20 years of collected wisdom into 230 pages. Discussions on tools, technique, nutrition, training are all useful - this is a book for the aspiring ice warrior as well as the climber with a few seasons under his / her belt. The constant Red Bull pimping gets a bit distracting but a guy has to pay the bills, afterall. Highly recommended.
Improve Your Ice Climbing Technique.......2004-01-10
This is simply the best book on ice climbing technique you will find. That's a broad statement, but you'll agree that Will Gadd has done an outstanding job presenting the information in this book. He starts out at a very basic level and proceeds to cover everything from climbing easy ice to mixed climbing. The book offers many tips and tricks as well as stresses the need for safety. There are even a few "war stories" thrown in for your reading enjoyment. The material is presented in an easy-to-read and enjoyable fashion. This book is destined to become the "Bible" of ice climbing technique. From beginner to expert you'll probably find something in this book that will help you improve your technique. A MUST addition to your collection.

Will Rogers Says.......2007-09-05
I have been a student and "fan" of Will Rogers for many years and this book of quotes truly captures the essence of the man that he was. Will was, indeed, a man for the times and he helped a struggling country maintain a smile and a bit of humanity during some truly difficult years.
Book Description
Will Rogers was quoted more often than any other source besides the Bible and Shakespeare. Now his insightful, never vulgar wit is brought together in a collection of sayings organized by topic.
Customer Reviews:
A man its hard not to like .......2005-07-05
My father , of blessed memory had a great affection for Will Rogers. He always used to quote the famous ," I never met a man I didn't like". I think it was Rogers plain commonsense humor, a certain honesty and telling the truth as he saw it, which impressed my father. And perhaps also the Rogers ability to deflate great pretensions and poke quiet fun at those in power. He tells us that if companies gave us much money to developing their products as to advertising them then they wouldn't have to advertise them. He points out one very large group of unemployed people is the ' advice- givers'. He wryly remarks about the difference between agriculture in the old days when they paid you to grow things, and agriculture now when they pay you not to.
He was a much beloved America, a man of the people who seemed a living embodiment of the American faith that the small man who came from a small place could really be the biggest man of all.
