Too much History .......2006-03-17
This book mentions too many historical events to support its viewpoints. A lot of pages are filled with facts that support the possibility of astral travel instead of getting straight to the point. I give this book 3 stars because it does work and is filled with a lot of historical rubbish that is totally unnesesary.
not that good.......2005-08-17
some of the information in this book is not correct. for example the author says that we sometimes astral project at night when infact we astral project every night. Most of the time we are just not aware of it. The astral is where our dreams take place. If you want a great book get astral travel and dreams by belzebuub. It explans how to use the astral to develope spiritualy.
A good astral book by a good author.......2004-09-13
The author gave suggest not to smoke and drink coffee before our first astral trael. Then, there was mind travel exercise before start an astral tavel. In this book, you'll find 11 techniques : First astral travel, meditation method, swing mehod, the french method, the whirlwind method, the visualization technique, will power method, chakra method, affirmation method, the christos method and hypnotism method. So, you can find which technique work best for you. Of course you can teach to another person, so both of you can go travel together. Just like anothers Webster's book, it's easy to follow
Highly efective book.......2003-12-13
I had a lucid dream by following the method given by Mr. Webster in page 40, the very first day I read it, I awoke in my dream. It is a great book!, and Richard Webster knows a lot about the subject of astral projection.
its a good book !!!!!!.......2002-09-22
it has several exercises to make astral voyagers easy
the author uses very simple language to make the book understable
in conclusion is very good book to start.

After 'Hit Man'
The New York Times bestseller Confessions of an Economic Hit Man documents John Perkins’ extraordinary career as a globe-trotting economic hit man. Perkins’ insider’s view leads him to crisis of conscience--to the realization that he must devote himself to work which will foster a world-wide awareness of the sanctity of indigenous peoples, their cultures, and their environments. Perkins’ books demonstrate how the age-old shamanic techniques of some of the world’s most primitive peoples have sparked a revolution in modern concepts about healing, the subconscious, and the powers each of us has to alter individual and communal reality.
This groundbreaking book is John Perkins’s firsthand account of his experiences with the shamanic technique of psychonavigation--a method of traveling outside the body by means of visions and dream wanderings--and his encounters with the Shuar of the Amazon, the Quechua of the Andes, and the Bugis of Indonesia. Shuar shamans psychonavigate for the purposes of hunting and healing, while the Bugis, among the most renowned sailors of the world, use these techniques to navigate without the aid of charts and compasses. Perkins explains how these techniques work and how the people of these indigenous cultures psychonavigate to both distant physical destinations and sources of inner wisdom.
Throughout history, psychonavigation has been practiced by highly creative minds such as Beethoven, Jung, and Einstein. Perkins’s riveting narrative takes us on a journey of personal discovery as he learns the great value of these techniques and their relevance not only to individual well-being, but to the health of the environment and of the world at large. He reveals how by attuning to the positive forces in nature and communicating with our inner guides we all can become psychonavigators, finding our way to wise decisions and developing innovative approaches to the challenges we face as individuals and a world community.

Huge Disappointment.......2007-08-12
I have read hundreds of books and many were not worth the time or money, but this book is so bad that I had to write this review to warn others. Don't get me wrong, if you enjoy reading the autobiography of people you don't know, this may be the book for you. If, on the other hand, you're like me and searching for books that will help you along the spiritual path, save your money. I was drawn to this book on Amazon based on several "5 star" reviews claiming the book was of great benefit. Most of the book chronicles the author's life as a Peace Corps volunteer. The only practical part of the book is a short chapter that is supposed to teach the technique of "psychonavigation". The gist of the chapter is "Learn how to meditate". If you already practice meditation, this book is of no help to you. If you want to learn how to meditate, this book is not for you either. There are far better books to check out if you want to start a practice of meditation. BUYER, DEFINITELY BEWARE.
It's All About The Journey ~ Lessons Along The Way.......2006-05-19
'Psychonavigation' by John Perkins is a thin, but extremely potent book that you will read over and over again. Only 144 pages in length, it's a very quick read, just an hour or two and you're done. However don't confuse brevity in length with lack of depth and content. There is much insight and wisdom within.
Journey with John in his cross cultural travels as he shares tales about the old ways of knowing and how they can be applied in any kind of modern setting, urban or otherwise. His stories and experiences are the real jewel of this book and will leave the reader with an almost transcendental feeling of joy and wonderment about the marvelous and mystical world in which we live!
My Highest Recommendation!!
I Flew!.......2001-07-25
When I read this book, I could not put it down. I flew! I read "Shapeshifting" by Perkins also and loved it. I came to "Psychonavigation" expecting to hear more of the same. But was I in for a pleasant surprise! This is a terrific book -- and it complements Shapeshifting. Perkins is a powerful teacher. He has helped me transform my life and learned to fly! What more can I say? Except: Read it!
Good Storytelling and Useful Techniques.......2000-04-09
I really enjoyed this book, having read Perkin's other books, Shapeshifting and World As You Dream It. The thing that I especially liked about this one was that he included a shamanic journeying technique at the end of his book. Therefore, not only do you get the great storytelling and inspiration found in the other two books, but you also get a useful tool which you can easily incorporate into your life. Another bonus of this book is that it is not exclusively centered upon the Shuar of South America. Perkins also recounts his journeys and experiences in the Andes and Indonesia. This is the book where you learn in-depth about Perkin's experiences that led him to further develop his interactions with the Shuar -- experiences briefly mentioned in the two books above. Even if you are the kind of person who tends to shy away from personal stories in spirituality books, I still recommend this book. I'm one too, and yet I find Perkin's works valuable.

Book Description
Manhattan executive Corbin is haunted by memories of another time -- memories that do not belong to him. Then, in the midst of a raging New York City snowstorm, the inexplicable images become more vivid and real. And before he knows it, Jonathan Corbin has stepped into a bygone world of gaslit streets and horsedrawn carriages -- and into the center of a nineteenth-century maelstrom of love, revenge, obsession...and death. Through the swirling snow, he can make out the figure of a woman-someone he can't possibly recognize, but does; someone he knows he is destined to kill.
Customer Reviews:
Others have done it much, much better.......2002-10-15
Without question, the best mix of time-travel and love for both the city and the people in it is Jack Finney's Time and Again. Time and Again is the book Maxim wished he had written. Every page of Time Out of Mind reminded me of how each situation was better handled and more interesting in Finney's book and it's sequel.
Certainly there are differences between Maxim and Finney, but its clear who Maxim read while thinking about his book. Time Out of Mind is ok, but instead of having to time travel back and stop yourself from potentially wasting valuable time, grab some of Maxim's other books... and while you are at it, grab a copy of Finney's Time and Again.
Imaginative, Entertaining, And Original Thriller.......2002-05-06
Here is a "time travel" adventure without time travel as the hero relives the past through visions of ancestral memories. A good plot, interesting characters, and well-written. My only reason for not giving this five stars was that it becomes a bit overlong. This book could have said and done all it had and still been had 80% less verbose. The author is recommended to all readers. I liked some of his other books a little bit better - especially "Shadow Box." You can count on John R Maxim for a good read every time out.
Serendipity!.......2002-01-14
Serendipity - an unexpected pleasant occurrence. That's this book for me. I had hoped for a standard thriller, having never
read this author before. What I ended up with was a book that had me totally hooked in the first 10 pages. Followed by intricate plotting, intelligent observation and real excitement. I am an instant fan and will be trying his other works.
"TIME AND AGAIN" WITH MORE ACTION.......2001-10-17
I loved this book!! I was into it by the first few pages. Better yet the first paragraph grabbed me right away. I would highly recommend this to all John Maxim fans plus all fans of time travel novels. Being a native New Yorker I found it fascinating to read about this city back in the 1800's. Run to your nearest book store or get on amazon.com asap, you won't regret it.
Fantastic premise, but occasionally tedious.......2001-02-25
I struggled with writing this review, only giving three stars amidst all of the five star reviews. I wondered what about the book that I missed. I approached the book with great enthusiasm. The concept was very intriguing. And while the book, in the end, was satisfying, I struggled at times maintaining interest. I'm not completely sure whther it was Maxim's writing style (this is only the second book of his that I've read) or whether I simply tired of flashbacks after a few chapters. Surprisingly, about half the way through the book, the 1980's excerpts were holding my attention while the 1880's excerpts seemed repetitive and occasionally uninteresting. That caught me by surprise, because an interest in the 1880's era is what attracted me to the book in the first place. Jonathan Corbin is a wonderful character. Tilden Beckwith was simply not as interesting.
Book Description
This book illustrates how time travel will be discovered in one thousand years and documents how these futuristic humans have traveled bask in time to interract with us throughout history and are here with us today. Many self-hypnosis exercises are provided, including fifth dimension travel and teleportation, to train the reader to contact these time travelers and travel in time themself.
Customer Reviews:
Just OK.......2002-04-21
I believe that UFOs are time machines from the future, and that's why I got this book. I like that the spiritual side of UFO encounters is discussed (though I'm not one of those new-age people you run into, I do believe in reincarnation), but I don't like how little information there is or the lack of evidence for some of his claims (like the bit about the various planes of existence; I think he's been playing too much Dungeons & Dragons). If you want a good book on the subject, get Visitors From Time by Marc Davenport. That's one of my favorite books.
Decent but Tahchee Chronicles is better........2002-02-28
Bruce Goldberg occassionally attempts to hint around that he himself is a time traveller. But, if that were the case he would have known that his book would be considered somewhat even. Not up to the level of stuff like his own Past Lives/future Lives. If you REALLY want to read a well written book on history's interaction with aliens you may want to check out the remarkable Tahchee Chronicles.
Possible answers from the Fifth Dimension.......2001-08-07
I am only about 3/5's of the way through the book, but wanted to comment on it. It is a very thought provoking concept. I am interested in the possibility of reincarnation, etc. and want to learn what pieces fit the larger puzzle of our lives. The chapter about Quantum physics is something I have no knowledge about, but understand the concept.
I just read a couple chapters at a time and then let what I read sink in to see what, if anything it means to me. Then my friends(who are also reading the book) compare notes about what we have or have not learned.
I am very intriqued with what I have read. (my thoughts) are the book is about "The Good, The Bad and The Informed" I would strongly recommend this book for any one who is on a quest for answers as to what we are about and where we may be going in this life.
Realmente Impresionate!.......1999-05-15
Si queres saber como se abduce, o sea como se chupan a las personas, para llevarlas a otros mundos, lee este libro. Fantastico, vas a quedar impresionado(da).
I want my money BACK!.......1999-05-06
I want my money BACK! Do I have to tell you more about this "book". I'm soooooooooo disapointed...

Book Description
Vicki Caruana's heart is for teachers. She writes in the introduction for Recess for Teachers, "I know firsthand what it is like to come to the end of yourself as a teacher, yet are still expected to pour yourself out as from an empty vessel. We seem to look for rest in all the wrong places and from all the wrong people. I want to help bridge the ever widening gap between fatigue and rest."
Vicki shares with her fellow teachers the secret to true rest-rest that is for your body, mind, and soul. True refreshment is found in God's comforting embrace and His promise to renew our wings as eagles. Recess for Teachers is a glass of water on a hot, long day. And it is Vicki's hope, that as a result of using this book, teachers can in turn have the opportunity to minister and offer real rest to their colleagues.
Product Description
The third book in the acclaimed series of critical studies of Bob Dylan by Paul Williams once again turns the microscope on the continuing evolution of rock s master singer and songwriter. After focusing on the start and roots of the Never Ending Tour, Williams surveys Dylan s work in 1990, and the 1997 Time Out Of Mind and 2001 Love & Theft albums. There s also an essay on a fine example of a Never Ending Tour show from 1998. Paul Williams writing about Bob Dylan has been praised by such distinguished Dylan fans as Sam Shepard, Jerry Garcia, and Allen Ginsberg. One member of Dylan s band says he found reading Williams books on Dylan helpful when he first joined the band and needed to become more familiar with his new boss huge output of work.
Customer Reviews:
Dylan for trainspotters........2006-05-26
If this is your thing :
"I can't say for certain, but I believe 42 different songs in three consecutive shows is a record for Dylan up until 1987. The closest contender seems to be 29 different songs in three consecutive shows at the volatile spring 1976 Rolling Thunder shows( and 39 different songs in five consecutive shows that spring)."
then go for it .There are many many worse examples.
However if you want a good book about music , try "Tricksta" by Nik Cohn.
The real stuff...again.......2004-11-23
Paul Williams demonstrated years ago that there is at least one well-known Dylan commentator who is wholly focussed on what the artist does, rather than on theories of his alleged role as mystic, guru or cultural revolutionary. In other words, he understands what Dylan's art form actually is: the writing and performing of classic songs. So an incidental pleasure in reading this book alongside Dylan's recently-released memoirs, `Chronicles' volume 1, is the confirmation that Williams was always closer to understanding what Dylan was up to than the many pretentious, more arty Dylanologists.
This third volume of an already-superb series maintains that focus and meets the high standards set by its two predecessors. Here he takes up the pen again as if he finished the last volume only yesterday, instead of a decade ago. The continuity he achieves is a considerable achievement, and all the more so since the period covered [1986-1990] was almost certainly Dylan's most fallow. These are the days when Bob was struggling - for inspiration, for relevance and for audience. Williams captures that struggle admirably and, as always, he does not shirk the task. When something was awful he says so bluntly. Some of Dylan's low-ebb 1987 shows, for example, are described, as `a painful listening experience'. This type of candour is unusual among his fellow Dylan scribes, always excepting Michael Gray. But when the opposite assessment is made, it means we can have confidence that the enthusiasm is real and follows real assessment of the work. Listening again to the recordings, it is quickly clear that Williams' ratings are a far more reliable pointer to the quality of Dylan's performances than all those routine whoops and shouts that some find so irritating at many concerts.
Ultimately that is the greatest attribute of all Paul Williams writings on Bob Dylan. He inevitably takes the reader back to the recordings - to the music and its performance. And given his mastery over four decades as a `performing artist' isn't that what Bob Dylan is all about?
Book Description
Leonard Michaels tells us that he began keeping a journal because he had no one to talk to about his troubled early marriage, which ended in his wife's suicide. In more than thirty years of entries, he has found many things easier to confide to paper than to friends and family. As a culture, we are obsessed with the private lives of others. Yet Time Out of Mind is more than an individual's journals. While charting Michaels's progress over three decades, we gain an understanding of what it means to be a writer. Time Out of Mind, which has been excerpted in The New Yorker, is the carefully crafted yet emotionally raw musings of a tormented, sensitive, and deeply insightful man who has difficulty reconciling himself to the world. Often hilarious, always riveting, and with surprising dramatic intensity, it describes Michaels as friend, lover, husband, and father, and captures the character of the times, beginning in the early sixties, when he was a young writer living in Greenwich Village.
Michaels has been hailed a master of observation, and through his eyes we see the ordinary world alive with new meaning.
A rare invitation into the journals of a writer."Leonard Michaels is a great magician of prose." --April Bernard, New York Newsday
Customer Reviews:
A masterpiece in the genre of bit-lit.......2004-11-22
I wish it had been longer. Leonard's diary is only about 47 billion times better than William Burroughs's diary. This thing is right up there with Kenneth Tynan's diary. And like Tynan, he's something of a sex-obsessive. Here's one of my favorite entries:
"Big dream last night. A man wearing a dark suit sits at a table with me, talking, watching me. Gradually and obliquely he conveys a message that explains my present situation. The message is that I'm dead. As usual I don't focus on the fact, but begin to wander behind it, looking for the real message, and I begin to suppose not that I'm dead but that this is a delicate piece of information and the man wants me to receive it calmly. Not for one moment do I stop with the fact of my death and focus on it. Meanwhile the surrounding life is sensual. Women walk by in shorts and skimpy bathing suits. We're in a tropical cafe."
Get inside a writer's head and heart.......2002-04-19
Leonard Michaels' diary is, as they say, a page-turner. He seductively engages the reader in his life and, collaterally, in the lives of his many friends and lovers. As I was reading, I felt like the two of us were having coffee during layover in an airport bar in Minneapolis or Manila, or that we'd been snowbound at a truckstop on Highway 90 out of Bozeman and over boilermakers he was confessing, explaining, justifying his life to me by relating particular events and dissecting the emotions and thoughts leading to and surrounding those events.
I'll confess that I was in Leonard Michaels' writing class, but it was so many years ago that all I can recall about him is this: He was kind and he was cool. The book shows us that, too. Read it.

Book Description
His Warlock and Wizard in Rhyme series have sold hundreds of thousands of copies around the world. Stories include The Warlock's Grandfather, Coronach of the Bell, Pride and Puppetry and many more.
Customer Reviews:
More Than a Warlock.......2003-03-21
Mind Out of Time is a collection of stories covering a span from 1981 to 2003. They cover a variety of SF and fantasy themes.
"The Warlock's Grandfather" is an odd story of either madness or canniness. After a long life of dedication to the family business, Count Rory begins to live in a dream world of his own making. This humiliates some of his children and their spouses, but elates two of his grandchildren.
"Coronach of the Bell" is a sad tale warning of the dangers of intervention in an ecology with insufficient knowledge. At the same time, it is a tale of forgiveness.
The earliest story, "The Martyrdom of St. Vidicon of Cathode", is a tale of Murphy's Law as manifested in technology. A backstory of the Warlock series, this tale might be seen as a farce to non-technical readers, but it is a tribute to human perseverance to anyone who has had to deal with electronic equipment. It may be contrived, but there is more than a smidgen of truth in it. High tech has its own version of praying in the foxholes.
"Pride and Puppetry" is obviously about prejudice, but also about loyalty and justice. When is it appropriate to allow your liege lord to be humiliated?
"Gordon's Quest" is a story of redemption through martyrdom. Unlike St. Vidicon, Gordon is seeking death to achieve paradise. Sound familiar? Of course, the author doesn't write just a journey toward death, but throws in a few exploitive gods that use Gordon to put down another god who has been coopted by the Taiping revolution.
"Who Ghost There?" is a romantic tale of a little girl, Anthea, with negligent parents who finds parental love from the family ghost. It seems Sir Roderick cannot rest until he recovers his head, so he has been consoling and protecting lonely children for centuries. Just to enlivened the plot, there are two suitors for Anthea's hand, a pair of the last Faerie in England, and a foreign spirit who manifests as a ball of fire.
The latest story, "Mind Out of Time", is also a backstory of the Warlock series. Angus McAran is deformed in body, but brilliant of mind. After graduating with a electrical engineering degree with a minor in physics, he became an inventor for a large corporation for a six figure salary and a well equipped laboratory. The company paid him a good amount for each patent issued, but then retained the royalties. While the money was minor matter, the lack ownership of the patents still irked him. Then, one day he found himself faced with a man -- actually a Neanderthal -- from his future (and other times) who advised him to invent a time machine and free himself from the tyranny of being a salaryman.
These stories display the humor and characterization often found in the author's various series, but also show a greater degree of versatility than found in the series work. While this collection brings all his stories into print, one may hope that the author will produce a few more in the near future.
Recommended for Stasheff fans and anyone who enjoys humor and a bit of wisdom in SF and fantasy settings.
strong collection, especially the titled novella.......2003-02-04
This collection from the author of The Warlock In Spite of Himself and subsequent mythos consists of six sensational short stories and a long terrific time travel tale "MIND OUT OF TIME" that expands the Christopher Stasheff cosmos to the merriment of his followers.
Each of the shorter tales is well written with strong characters while supporting the Stasheff cosmos underlying supposition that misfits struggle to find a group or a loved one to belong to and reciprocally belongs to the antihero too. Mr. Stasheff expands on his theme in a two-page introduction to this anthology that his supporters will want to read. Fans of the Wizard universe will gain much delight with these six entertaining tales starring humanity's outcasts.
However, this book belongs to the title novella, MIND OUT OF TIME. Though born with a deformed body, Angus McArcan is brilliant having secured many patents for the company that employs him. When co-worker Yorick talks about a Neanderthal skull found in Michigan, Angus decides to astral time travel to find out if Neanderthals ever made it to North America. He lands in the body of Alaspar, a Neanderthal living in what will one day be Michigan. Angus learns from Alaspar that he will invent a time machine, be the founder of GRIPE (Guardians of the Rights of Individuals, especially patent holders) and will develop a sense of future. When he returns to the present, he meets Yorick again who is also a time traveler sent to save him from those who don't want GRIPE to succeed. This is a whimsical time travel tale starring an unusual but likable hero.

Customer Reviews:
Lyric lovers must own this........1998-11-25
Dylan is writing stronger lyrics then ever. One clearly can see how he is amazed at the world around him and does he still belong? My answer is definetly and we need his words more then ever. The Truth is out there and Dylan is it.
A great resource for players and lovers of Dylan's work........1998-08-30
This is an excellent songbook of the songs on Bob's latest (wonderful) album. The chords given work well - no mean feat given that few of the tunes have basic chord structures. Nicely bound and a great resource for lyrics.
I wanted to know why he called Rainy Day Woman #12,35........1998-05-20
There wasn't a hole lot about his songs. I wanted to know why he called that song Rainy Day Women #12, 35. It never gave a review on what his meaning of the songs were. How can you enjoy it if you don't understand it.
