Gardening Mercies: Finding God in Your Garden
ASIN: 0802845886 |
Book Description
The garden is a personal place of retreat and delight and labor for many people. Gardening helps us collect ourselves, much as praying does. For rich and poor- it makes no difference- a garden is a place where body and soul are in harmony. In Inheriting Paradise Vigen Guroian offers an abundant vision of the spiritual life found in the cultivation of God's good creation. Capturing the earthiness and sacramental character of the Christian faith, these uplifting meditations bring together the experience of space and time through the cycle of the seasons in the garden and relate this fundamental human experience to the cycle of the church year and the Christian seasons of grace. The tilling of fresh earth; the sowing of seeds; the harvesting of rhubarb and roses, dillweed and daffodils-Guroian finds in the garden our most concrete connection with life and God's gracious giving. His personal reflections on this connection, complemented here by delicate woodcut illustrations, offer a compelling entry into Christian spirituality.
Customer Reviews:
The Unity of Creation and Redemption.......2000-04-01
In this remarkable little book, Guroian has exemplified the way in which Orthodox Christian theology/spirituality enables one to have spectacular insight into the nature of creaturely life in the created world. His reflections appropriate the heart of Orthodox thought to gardening: that redemption is the union of God with the whole cosmos. This is a done in a poetic and contemplative way that is a joy to read.

Someday we will return to a place of unfathomable beauty, where we live amongst all the beings we have ever loved, promises George Anderson author of Walking in the Garden of Souls. "It is a place we will see again only after our lifetime of struggle, hardship and hurt has earned us the reward of true and final peace." Our task is not to simply muddle through, waiting for our ticket to Eden, cautions Anderson. Rather, we must set out to create "a Garden on earth while we are here," meaning we must cultivate the same life we yearn for in the hereafter. As he did with Lessons from the Light, Anderson conveys messages from the departed to help us tend our garden. The advice ranges from how to plant hope in times of despair to how to water the seeds of compassion (it may start with placing money in a panhandler's palm). Sometimes the garden metaphor seems forced or clichéd. But overall, this is a book with honorable intentions, helping us understand the purpose of life on Earth. --Gail Hudson

George Anderson is The REAL deal!.......2007-09-27
I met George Anderson, shortly following the death of my son. I flew to Long Island, NY for a chance to 'hear' from my son. I write about the encounter in Blessings in the Mire, which is here in Amazon. If you want an insider's view, get the book. There is no way he (George Anderson) could have known anything about me, or about my circumstances, or about the death of my son, my brother, and my father (they all came through to greet me in Long Island!). The process was captivating, and even had my dead relatives not come across, it still would have been an experience of a lifetime. As it was, the meeting was priceless, profound, and deeply healing. If you want to know more about my experience please check out Blessings in the Mire, as well as Walking in the Garden of Souls.
As an added thought, for my trip to Long Island, I traveled with a customer who had just lost her husband. She too, received VERY PERSONAL information. She too, was impressed by the communication. Her story is also in Blessings in the Mire.
Believe it, because it's true.
Walking in the Garden of Souls.......2007-08-06
Have purchased several copies to give to people experiencing grief. It has always been helpful and in fact they have all passed it on to others.
An incredibly wonderful book!!
Just A Wonderful Book.......2007-07-22
I've had to purchase several copies of this book because everyone that I loan it to just loves it! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. Seriously, how many books have you read (excluding the Bible) that really make you feel good inside. There is so much mental pain on this planet and this wonderful book just makes it a little more tolerable.
A good friend just had to have his dog put to "sleep", so tomorrow I'll be sending the part of the book (under the questions area in the back) about how our beloved pets will be reunited with us when we pass into spirit.
A must read!.......2007-05-11
This amazing book by George Anderson is a must read for everyone. It is not just a book about leaving this world, but a book about living in this world. We all live and we will all leave at one point and this book is instrumental in making both of those experiences the most rewarding event possible. I highly recommend this book.
Walking in the Garden of Souls.......2007-03-08
The book is very insightful and I've read all of the books that George Anderson has written with his coauthors.
I recommend this book for anyone who needs comfort after suffering a loss of someone close. This book helps ease the pain by helping us understand that death is not the end.

Book Description
North America's eastern half, roughly from the Midwest to the Atlantic, was once a great deciduous forest. Although centuries of human intervention have cleared much of the land, the timeless forest remains in the spirit of the place. Today, even the shortest period of human neglect allows for the resurgence of the process of forest creation. The greatest gardens — and happiest gardeners — in this area will be those that take into account the nature of the land.
In his unique, and often thought-provoking new book, award-winning author Darke promotes and stunningly illustrates a garden aesthetic based on the strengths and opportunities of the woodland, including play of light, sound, and scent; seasonal drama; and the architectural interest of woody plants.
While written from a compelling and fresh perspective, The American Woodland Garden never strays from the realistic concerns of the everyday gardener. Information on planting, soils, and maintenance provides a firm foundation for horticultural accomplishment. An alphabetical list of woodland plants offers useful advice for every garden, emphasizing native trees, shrubs, vines, ferns, grasses, sedges, and flowering perennials that fit the forest aesthetic. More than 700 of the author's stunning photographs show both the natural palette of plants in the wild and the effects that can be achieved with them in garden settings. Many of the most striking photos in the book were taken at classic gardens that are paragons of an ecological style.
The American Woodland Garden is a clarion call to a new awareness of our relationship to the natural world. This book will take its rightful place among the classic works that have influenced our concept of the American landscape.
Customer Reviews:
Food for the soul........2007-07-10
If you live near the edge of woodlands as we do, you'll find this book to be a valuable source of information. It's a challenge to landscape the transition from woodland to home, but this book provides the knowledge needed to make that happen. And if you love to live in or near woodland areas as much as we do, you'll appreciate the wonderful photographs.
Must have book for woodland gardeners.......2007-05-14
This man is the best photographer of the woodlands and a great speaker. Would purchase any book by him.
Great Book!.......2007-03-26
I am a novice gardener but this book gives great advice and great choices from groundcover to shrubs and trees for the woodsy landscape. I refer to this book all the time.
Inspiration for Your Own Woodland Garden.......2007-03-18
A gorgeous, substantive book. It's not a how-to in a conventional sense, but it will definitely get your creative juices flowing in terms of your own woodlands. If you've never thought about "color palette" for plantings, you'll really enjoy this book.
A book of wonders........2007-02-12
This is simply the best book in my garden library. It is a way of looking at the environment around us, an ethos complete with pictures, information, and instruction. Be sure to buy this book in hardback, because paperback binding will never survive the hard useage this book will receive in your home.

Book Description
This beautiful book is a resource for those who want to create a contemplative garden or to better understand what it is to follow a contemplative path. It will be of interest to landscape architects and designers, anyone interested in the fusion of East and West in cultural expression, and garden lovers everywhere. It explores the innovative approach to garden and landscape design found in the work of Martin Mosoko, a landscape architect and Zen teacher working in the Rocky Mountain region of Colorado. Mosoko's work incorporates principles of Oriental and Western garden design to make bold and original statements in his landscapes. Mosoko explains how to deploy the materials of the garden so that their arrangement reflects the contemplative mind. The chief paradigm he uses is the mandala, a symbolic picture of the ideal world used in some form in many of the world's cultures. Rocks, streams, plants, paths, and structures of the garden each take their place in the mandala as one of its five elements: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space. The means to produce a balance of these elements is the mind conditioned by meditation and a clear understanding of its own nature. Inner harmony is expressed as outer beauty. Mosoko's approach to landscaping transforms space into spirit, infused with magic. It can be used to create anything from a small courtyard to a country estate, in any environment from the city to the suburbs. After explaining theory and method the book leads us into five of Mosko's gardens, each alive with the energy and excitement he brings to his designs. Although located in different parts of the country and created in different styles, each garden is a reflection of the mind of clarity and calm.
Customer Reviews:
FABULOUS BOOK!.......2007-10-17
This is a great book that one can return to time after time. It presents landscaping principals in the context of the garden as a place for reflexion and meditation. As gorgeous as the photos are, I find the text even more meaningful.
Extraordinary insights.......2004-10-18
This book is remarkable in at least three regards. First, it is so finely produced that we, as readers, can actually feel our way into the gardens it is showing us. Second, the principles of garden-making it offers us are profound, simple and flexible: we can see how the Mosko gardens emerge from them, and how our own might too. Third, and most unusual, it is deeply spiritual, coming from years of meditative practice in the Zen and Tibetan tradtions, as well as in unnamed native traditions of spirit. In the deepest sense this book is beauty as instruction.
landscape as spirit: creating the contemplative garden.......2004-10-15
this book's title, if the picture of the cover is real, is different from the Amazon title. who proof's this stuff?
Beautiful, Inspiring - a great gift.......2004-04-29
This gorgeously made and printed book will inspire ANY gardener or person who enjoys gardens. The photos take you into a world of amazing gardens. I'm not a garden nut, but I love a beautiful book and this one is on my coffee table. The writing is clear, creative, and very informative. This book is an excellent gift to anyone who loves architecture, design, or landscapes.
Landscape as Spirit.......2003-12-27
In this time of shortening days when everything but us hurry up humans is sensibly quieting down, what a pleasure and a treasure to sit down in a comfy armchair and open this book. Turning the pages is stepping into a contemplative garden and wandering the paths. Letting the colors and shapes and scents and sounds take you in. A beauty feast - massaging your worried mind, snatching speedy thought, soothing your bustling spirit.
And when, a timeless while later, you close the book and stand up in your feet again, you are changed.
Restored, refreshed and more in love with life.
How does a book do all this?
I don't know.
That is part of the delightful mystery and what I love about it.
Clearly, these two authors have been having a good time. Working hard, paying attention in their own lives to what it is that creates harmony and balance. Playing with rock, water, plants, and light. Listening deeply to the voices that seem to encourage us to stop arguing with reality and relax back into our natural sanity. Now, with gorgeous photographs and wise words, they are sharing with us what they've discovered along the way.
I suggest "reading" Landscape as Spirit once through just for the images. Turning the pages slowly and letting the gardens enter and speak. Then, a second time, for the words - inspirational and practical, for the professional gardener and layperson alike.
Thank you to Mosko and Norden for what you have given birth to and your generosity of spirit in offering it out into the world.

Truly, a book for everyone seeking to connect into the larger picture of life.
Customer Reviews:
Grounds-up teaching and learning.......2007-08-27
Terrific explanations and a palpable enthusiasm for nature as well as gardening. I learned so much and am feeling much more confident about gardening than I ever would have believed possible. I think the concept of "co-creative" work with nature is positively the way we need to go.
Reality Check........2006-04-22
If, like most people, you're a weekend gardner and don't have a lot of time, then this book is not for you. And if you do have a lot of time to spend on your garden, then you don't need this book.
Amazing and Enlightening.......2006-04-21
This is an absolutely amazing book that allows anyone involved with gardening to create a perfectly balanced garden that is in perfect harmony with nature.
The author describes useing kinesiology which is a type of muscle testing (virtually the same as using a dowsing rod or a handheld pendulum which i prefer) to contact and communicate with various earth intelligences such as Devas and nature spirits.
The gardener essentially puts 100% of his faith into the hands of these nature spirits and allows them to make virtually every single decision involving the design, planning, implementation, maintenance of the entire garden project! Although it sounds insane, it apparently provides a highly balanced and successful garden compared to the typical human dictatorship over nature typically utilized by 21st century gardeners and farmers.
While reading this book i couldn't help but realize early on that this book has very far reaching implications into many various aspects of humanity such as healing for example. It can be used in so many different ways that could be applied to any subject matter with slight modification of the basic techniques.
I plan on using the processes in this book on a new garden project and find out for myself just how effective it really is. Apparently the author has been doing it and perfecting the techniques for the last 30 years successfully!
I especially would recommend this book to anyone interested in contacting any nature intelligences such as devas, nature spirits, faeries, elementals, etc.. It appears to me that this book (possibly unknowingly) bridges a huge gap between the science behind co-creative gardening and the mystical and magical worlds of the faeries.
The other part of life........2006-02-23
Unless we open up, we will never begin to understand life in all its forms.
A great book for learning and practice with Nature........2003-12-02
This book is higly beneficial to
get practical goals with Nature.
Plants and flowers can really grow

Book Description
An amazing journey into the beliefs of the Findhorn Community. "A beautiful book, including about 100 wondrous photographs."--Library Journal
Customer Reviews:
I've been there........2005-04-28
I became attached to The Findhorn Foundation before reading any of the publications that have made it famous. It is an amazing place, and although I did not personally connect with Nature Spirits during any of my visits, I did have what I can only call spiritual experiences that prevent me from doubting any one else's connections to energy we don't understand. To those who have placed reviews that judge the place without going there, you should open your minds. It is not a hoax, but a place where many people are able to access a different perception of life. Findhorn really isn't about gardening, but about people and their relationship to the earth and each other. That's what makes this book so beautiful. It gives us an insider's look at some of the Founding members of a place that has nutured a diverse collection of caring, open minded, peole. Findhorn Foundation members have been advisors to the UN and are on the leading edge of the Ecovillage movement, reforestation, herbal remedies, spiritual and personal development, and alternative medicices that have all come closer to the mainstream since the 1960's. For me, The Findhorn Garden is both a history of a place I love, and an inspiration in keeping my mind open to the infinite possibilities of the universe -- even though I'm quite happy just having an ordinary life with an ordinary garden!
Wonderfully Whacky.......2004-07-30
This book gets you thinking about why some people's gardens flourish and others perish under the same conditions. Second half of the book gets a bit tedious in places, but worth a read.
Food for thought.......2004-07-08
This book is lovely and fun! Sure its concepts are also outrageous to the logical mind, but remember so was microbiology 100 years ago. The controversy of this book doesn't reach the underlying meaning: Through a lot of love, humility, faith and hard work you can lead a gentle and honerable life that creates beauty and gives life and hope where it appears hopeless. Even if you think you can't hear nature spirits and they are someone else's imagination, you can still find strength and peace while working with the natural world. Plus the more people learn to appreciate and love the natural world as part of us, the more we will collectively be able to hold for the future. The people who founded Findhorn are inspiring on many levels. It is wonderful.
IS FINDHORN FAKERY?.......2003-09-24
MY MOM FIGURED OUT FINDHORN A LONG TIME AGO - GOT SOME INFO FROM THE DEPT OF AGRICULTURE IN SCOTLAND AND FOUND THAT THE GROUND FINDHORN SITS ON IS PERFECT FOR GROWING ANYTHING. IN MY OPINION, THE WHOLE OPERATION IS A FAKE.
Stunningly weird........2003-08-29
The story of the Findhorn Garden is somewhat like that of Lourdes or Old Faithful--I don't know exactly how to describe it, but it is by turns hyperreligious, extraterrestrial, down-to-earth, and just plain bizarre.
The woman of the house talks to the spirits of plants, and they tell her how to plant them (sort of an interactive Burpee service), and they grow in sand and fertilizer, blooming in extraordinary abundance where there was nothing but an ugly, abused mobile-home park once.
While this is a 1960's tale, there is much to be admired about it, and much to ponder as to what on earth does this indeed represent?

ASIN: 1584794720 |
Book Description
"Consult the genius of the place in all," Alexander Pope famously wrote, advocating gardens that are in harmony with the landscape rather than imposed upon it. Gardens in the Spirit of Place takes us on an insider's tour of some of the most beautiful examples of this philosophy, "reflective gardens" that celebrate their regional origins above all. Fourteen gardens across the United States are profiled in this stunning book, which features text by renowned garden writer Page Dickey and more than 150 sumptuous photographs by John M. Hall.
Whether it's an eastern woodland garden on Mount Desert Island, Maine, a Wisconsin farmland garden on Lake Pewaukee, or a garden planted in gravel in Palo Alto, California, each garden presented here is a sensitive and original response to its surroundings. For those who want to make their own regional gardens, the book is full of new ideas and inspiration. At a time of tremendous interest in all things local and native, this collection of gardens, formed as much by their environments as by their creators, will have enormous appeal.
Gorgeous color photography
Full of ideas for those seeking inspiration for their gardens
Locations all across the nation including Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Delaware, Virginia, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Texas, California, and Washington
Features a wide variety of gardens, from farmland to desert
Customer Reviews:
mistakes are significant.......2007-09-03
The correct names of the plants and professionals under discussion do
not go out of style. This book falls short on accuracy. Yes there are pretty photos, but not enough hard information. Panicum virgatum (switchgrass) is a staple of prairie gardens. I see it every day. It does not look like this. (I wonder if it's a Calamagrostis?) If you're looking for Neil Diboll's nursery , use this spelling and Google will help you. These were just two of the simple errors I noticed. It does tend to take pleasure out of reading a book in this genre when one can't trust the
information.
Ken Druse' much earlier book, The Natural Habitat Garden, covers this same topic. The book contains beautiful photos. It's much more helpful. There is accurate, information, written in a readable style that makes the concept of a garden that fits the place come alive.
Looking and Listening to Nature: The Essence of Fine Gardens.......2007-03-07
Page Dickey is one of our finer writers and knowledgeable experts on gardening and has once again produced a book with the able assistance of nature photographer John M. Hall that becomes an instant classic. For all the beautiful garden books that fill the shelves of our bookstores and homes, few begin with the concept of making the natural setting of the space where people elect to create a garden the primary consideration.
After a beautifully written and informative foreword by Wayne Winterrowd, Dickey crosses the country, pausing in various differing locales to interview and photograph significant gardens from Maine to Massachusetts, New York, Delaware, Virginia, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Texas, California, and Washington, selecting gardens that varying from arid spaces to waterways. At each of the fourteen gardens we are given background as to the types of soil, natural vegetation, moods of the area, history, and the final creative masterpiece gardens that have been created from all of this information.
The result is a beautifully designed, written, photographed and produced book that deserves a place in the libraries of everyone who loves gardening - and the environment! Highly recommended. Grady Harp, March 07
Another wonderful garden book from Page Dickey.......2005-12-01
Ms. Dickey has written wonderful garden books in the past - Breaking Ground, Inside Out and a Duck Hill Journal, to name a few. Gardens in the Spirit of Place is another winner. She has a great eye for the beautiful and idiosyncratic, and is an absolutely terrific writer. An inspiring collection of unique gardens that embody their varying surroundings.

Shamanic Journeying: A Beginner's Guide
ASIN: 1401901115 |
Book Description
At the heart of spiritual awakening lies the discovery that each of us can achieve the direct, transformative connection with the sacred realms-a connection that defines the mystic. The Journey to the Sacred Garden guides us along a well-traveled path into this extraordinary experience and includes an experiential CD of shamanic drumming and rattling, providing us with an effective, easily learned technique for expanding awareness and shifting consciousness safely. The first goal: to find our Sacred Garden, a place for personal empowerment; as well as physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual restoration. Once there, we learn through direct experience that the garden can be used as a gateway into the other levels of the inner worlds.
Anthropologist Hank Wesselman, Ph.D., reveals that our garden operates by four primary rules:
oEverything in the garden is symbolic of some aspect of ourselves or our life experience.
oEverything in the garden can be communicated with, enhancing understanding.
oThe garden can be changed by doing work.
oWhen you change your garden, some part of you or your life will change in response.

Exquisite little book.......2006-11-11
This lovely little book makes it easy for the beginner or delightful for the experienced "traveler" to visit their own personal garden or sacred space deeply. The accompanying CD adds immensely to the process and is part of the reason I purchased the book. Having recently attended one of Hank Wesselman's workshops, I found that this book an CD are like being at the workshop!
Journey to the Sacred Garden.......2005-10-14
This is a great book and cd for a practical application in the direction of mediation and shamanism. It is more than an explanation of things and more of an experiential event. I recommend this book and the one that follows it for those who are looking to do work and have not yet found a group or teacher to help them with the real work.
Happy Daydreams!.......2003-12-23
Having read the book several times and done the journeys with the CD, I think that it's an interesting experience. The drumming has the ability to put you into a light trance and you can relax while going into your sacred garden. Nothing really scary has happened to me as I've gone on these trips alone and nothing really dramatic has happened either. it certainly doesn't compare to what supposedly happens on an LSD trip.-- Sorry. I don't get the kind of way out visions that Wesselman gets.
After trying the journeys for a month, I think I MAY or MAY NOT be feeling better because of the sessions. I SEEM to be more creative musically, more aware of what is going on of significance in everyday life, a little more energetic at times, (...), and possibly relieved somewhat from a condition I have. Is it the sessions or just the natural flow of events? I don't know.
I did not have to go to the lower worlds to find my spirit guides as Wesselman instructs. I found them immediately in the garden. I think I mostly made them up from what I would want them to be, except, heh heh, the Birdman and the Tarzan-like guy with the snake. I also have a nymph, a beautiful woman, a knome, a wizard, Jesus, my oversoul, and a council of elders. I also imagined my dead mother too. I think I'm capable of making this all up from imagination anyway. They mostly work on healing me in some way through light, light balls that I swallow, and water and healing potions. I also have gifts from them that represent goals that I focus on while there. It is easy to hold a vision with the drumming. I can even be interrupted and move back into the vision again relatively quickly. I never really get much verbal council of any significance about, for instance, the purpose of my life--just generalized, cliched, bland stuff that I could have guessed on my own. I never communicate with nature or the elements the way Wesselman does and I'm probably not that interested.
The instruction book is short, to the point, informative and easy to read. The sessions are relaxing. Are the visions real or imaginative? Are they profoundly beneficial? At this point, I don't know.
Update August 2, 2004: I'd knock it down a star. I haven't used the CD in several months and I don't think it has changed my life in any significant way. I think it could only be effective with certain people, as Wesselman seems to suggest. Maybe if you get someone to help you who knows something about it, you would do better. I did my visions with the CD by myself.
You can't help but succeed with this book.......2003-05-13
This is a well-written, beautiful little book written in peaceful yet eloquent language. Having had little success with meditation, I have been very excited about the consciousness states I have been able to achieve using the experiental CD included with the book. I also find that in addition to being relaxing and instructive (and incredibly entertaining), the shamanic state is indeed a real point of power. I have had almost instant "life feedback" or "results" - to use an informercial term - after visiting and learning in my own garden space. Read this book, and use the CD. It may prove to be invaluable for you as it has for me.
Working your garden brings growth........2003-02-23
The premise is advancement of course, however the emphasis here is a direct look into the work one needs to perform in order to advance. I found the direction given to be highly sensible and realistic, no matter what your faith foundations are. The entire scope of this book actually fits what most consider acceptable genres, nothing leaps out as being extreme. In all my past readings I have found very few books to be applicable and truly functional, this has worked for me, I believe this is mostly true as I accept the down to Earth reality implied. I suggest another great book to help guide and advance in the spiritual realm, SB 1 or God by Karl Mark Maddox

garden witchery.......2007-08-08
As a beginner, I found this book informative and enjoyable.
It was easy for me to understand and i came away with wonderful ideas for my small Magikal Garden.
I now also understand why I feel so good in my small Garden space!!!
Chalice
Covers all the basics.......2007-06-08
This is a good basic primer for any beginning wiccan gardener. Fun and easy read, and good 'entrylevel' reference.
Great guide for any level of practioner .......2007-05-18
I found this book entertaining as well as informative. Very easy to read writing style. If you're a novice the book isn't too overwhelming. I like the size of the book, I can tote it anywhere, like the garden or the nursery.
Love it!.......2007-04-04
I'd been looking for a good refence book for my new garden that included a section on magical trees. This book fits the bill! Also full of little spells and practical ways to use your magical herbs.
just what i was looking for!.......2007-03-06
As a solitary practicioner I was constantly looking for a spot that felt right (if you don't know what I mean, well, it'd take too long to explain) but the point is that I hadn't found it. Sadly, the last place I felt that was at my grandmother's (250miles away) and wasn't sure I could re-create that. Well, this book showed me how! I had a lot of questions answered in this book and most definetly will be getting her other books.
The book is easy to read, makes a LOT of sense and can be just the thing that us gardenless witches need to get a jump start back on track. I also highly recommend her book, Cottage Witchery - another excellent read and again, such a helpful book!
Honestly - if you have an inkling that you're magick lies in the garden or the hearth, but you've never practiced in a place like that I very much getting this book and reading through it. It can help you find the best place for you!

Book Description
Dolores Cannon uses information obtained from regressive hypnosis to formulate a provocative viewpoint on the ancient astronaut theory of human origins. Her findings indicate that the earth was seeded eons ago by travelers from outer space. These visits by ancient extraterrestrials did not end with their intervention in human evolution. They have continued up to the present day resulting in a whole class of contemporary humans who have been subject to alien abduction.

Many Sleepless Nights.......2006-10-09
Overall, this book is amazing. It has great content, easy to read, and loaded with information. It gives you a new way to look at yourself, our planet, God/Creator, and the universe. Caution, do not read this book at night!! To be honest, i had some sleepless nights wondering about some of the concepts that Dolores introduces and kept looking outside thinking that i would see a UFO. Talking about being paranoid :(. Some of the concepts are hard to understand and some of the are just mind bottling. I must reccomend those who will buy this book to read it with an open mind. Those who are close minded will not get much out of this book.
Outstanding!!.......2006-07-25
I can't improve on what the other reviewers have written. I intentionally read Dolores' first book on this subject first even though it was the oldest. I wanted to see how she first got onto this astonishing subject matter to make up my own mind whether I wanted to pursue the other books. I became her fan after reading her work on Jesus and the Essenes, but this subject matter is a whole different "kettle of fish". If I hadn't trusted her integrity already my mind may not have allowed me to seriously receive this astounding information. Keepers Of The Garden is a pure 'page turner' that kept me up all night to finish. I highly recommend it!! Fasten your seat belts.
Extremely credible and readable account of an incredibly difficult subject,.......2006-01-26
Dolores Cannon has written a lot of books on esoteric susbjects. The material for her books has been gleaned fron the experiences of the many people who come to her for hypnotic regression in order to gain information of memories from their past lives and thereby heal them. This is her first book on extraterrestrials and how they have been relevant to life on this planet. It has been followed by 'The Custodians' and the more recent series 'The Convoluted Universe' Books One and Two.
This book is about the experiences of a man in the hypnotized state where he is regressed to his experiences as an extraterrestrial entity. The wealth of information that has come forth is really extraordinary. Besides, it has been superbly presented and edited; this book is hard to put down. It offers fascinating glimpses of a different planetary reality, of spaceships that travel between heavenly bodies, of illumined cities where spoken language is dispensable, crystal technology and planetary antennas among others, the kind of stuff that science fiction is made of.
It is said that life on this planet was conceived at a certain advanced level of consciousness. The seed was sown by a band of extraterrestrials after several ground explorations. The original plan was that of a garden of Eden. Somehow weeds got into the garden. While covering this issue, the communication takes the form of channeling, as other entities begin to censor the informatiion and at times, even shut it down completely. The reason given is that further elaboration on those lines could give rise to a good deal of misinterpretation, and thus lead to disinformation campaigns and even persecution of certain races or peoples.
The book ends with a short experience of the author, where, while watching a science fiction movie on extraterrestrials, she herself hears voices, which wonder why these beings are portrayed in such a negative way by our media. That their intentions in coming to this planet are honourable and above reproach, but our natural fears of the unknown are stoked by the negativity of the fourth estate to a hyper intensive paranoia of all things outside our experience.
Though the topic is unusual, one gets the clear impression that this material is free from fabrication, and is the genuine, honest experience of the author, who despite having her feet firmly grounded on reality, is also extremely spontaneous , even playful at times. The author gives vent to her almost childlike curiosity, letting it lead her onto newer and even more unknown pastures.
My own impression after reading this book was a feeling of experiencing a long forgotten reality. A reality visited only in dreams, yearned for in the ordinariness of everyday living and touched on only occasionally. A reality resonating to a different music. Dolores Cannon shows us that it is real.
Jesus and The Essenes.......2004-02-07
I have searched for many years for believable information about Jesus. This book answers many questions I have had. I am at peace now. I have read almost all of Dolores's books, and have enjoyed all of them . I find them very interesting. I believe them. I want to thank her for her many hours of work. I know a number of people who have seen our space ships. I personaly know 5 people who have veiwed space ship. Two was my Mother and brother-in-law. Another ship was veiwed by 3 men at the same time. Each of these men told me about it, at different times over the last 15 years. They are all good men, not misleading people. I would recommend an one of her books. I have gave many copys away to people who seemed to need answers. My mother has read Jesus and the Essenes at least 3 times.
incredible.......2003-12-28
This is an incredible book and i cant wait to read Dolores's other books including The custodians. Well this book answers many questions I had about why we're here and it goes into detail. It talks about humans first steps on Earth and Dolores even talks about the Bible and it sure made me a believer (everything that is revealed fits perfectly and makes sense) and its mind boggling. I am now more interested in the Bible and i now believe Jesus existed and all the miracles which occured and are talked about in the Bible are in case true, with the help of our creators, extra terrestials.
