Book Description

With three straight #1 bestsellers and more than 4 million copies of his books in print, the most powerful traditional force in the American media now takes off his gloves in the ongoing struggle for America’s heart and soul.

Bill O’Reilly is the very embodiment of the idea of a Culture Warrior—and in this book he lives up to the title brilliantly, with all the brashness and forthrightness at his command. He sees that America is in the midst of a fierce culture war between those who embrace traditional values and those who want to change America into a “secular-progressive” country. This is a conflict that differs in many ways from the usual liberal/conservative divide, but it is no less heated, and the stakes are even higher.
In Culture Warrior, Bill O’Reilly defines this war and analyzes the competing philosophies of the traditionalist and secular-progressive camps. He examines why the nation’s motto “E Pluribus Unum” (“From Many, One”) might change to “What About Me?”; dissects the forces driving the secular-progressive agenda in the media and behind the scenes, including George Soros, George Lakoff, and the ACLU; and dives into matters of race, education, and the war on terror. He also shows how the culture war has played out in such high-profile instances as The Passion of the Christ, Fahrenheit 9/11, the abuse epidemic (child and otherwise), and the embattled place of religion in public life—with special emphasis on the war against Christmas. Whatever controversies are roiling the nation, he fearlessly confronts them—and no one will be in the dark about which side he’s on.
Culture Warrior showcases Bill O’Reilly at his most eloquent and impassioned. He is an unrelenting fighter for the soul of America, and in this book he fights the good fight for the traditional values that have served this country so well for so long.

One hardly knows whether to laugh or cry. It is a little frightening to know there are people out there that can put their clothes on and food in their mouth, and actually give attention to the likes of O'Reilly and Coulter. What pathetic little tics full of drivel, I mean, just look at the guy.....freak supreme. If this is your cup of tea, please consider thinking for yourself and waking up a bit and try something sane and reasonable, compassionate and loving, creative and expansive for a change. Otherwise, see you in Hell.

This book will definitely give you a different perspective when you view the news media. There is a lot of truth here!

Well written book. I'm not sure of the validity of all the things he talks about because he is often defending himself, but I think he makes some very smart points. I can see some of the effects of the sp movement that Bill mentions in his book almost everyday.

1 out of 5 stars Bill's strawman.......2007-09-25

Mr O'Reilly is somewhat of an enigma to me. I find his show entertaining. He sometimes speaks very rationally about current issues and presents his point of view very reasonably. But there are times when he appears to let his emotions completely overrule his logic, and then he looks foolish and petty. So it is with "Culture Warrior."

Bill blames nearly all of America's ills on secular progressives. The S-P movement (according to O'Reilly) wants to completely dismantle all that is good and replace it with atheistic, socialist programs that would undermine America's moral fiber and promote malaise and complacency.

Pure bunk! The truth of the matter is that Bill's Republican Party has held the White House for all but 12 years since 1968. In all this time, the party of "family values" and "personal responsibility" has done little, if anything, to improve our nation's social problems. A good argument could be made that many of those problems have actually gotten worse. And yet, here's Bill trying to shift the blame to some small minority of the population with practically no political power.

Of course, he's preaching to the choir with his simplistic scapegoating. If you're a Fox news fan and an O'Reilly-phile, you'll no doubt be blind to his flaws in logic and his stretching of the facts.

My grandma read me this book.I thought it was good and it's fun too.It never gets boring and I feel like he is the greatest guy in the world. My grandma says she will read all the books he writes to me and that will make me real happy and I'm looking forward to that.

This Bible is excellent for older eyes. It is really
easy for my wife to read.

4 out of 5 stars Almost perfect........2007-05-07

This edition would be "perfect" if the references were "center column" instead at the end of the verse. End-of-verse references are just the bare minimum. Though the NIV is a good translation, the lack of sufficient references in this edition make it less than perfect for a study Bible. The type is great though....VERY easy to read.

Former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger asks a question in the title of his book Does America Need a Foreign Policy?--but there's really no doubt about the answer. That's not to say it shouldn't be asked: "The last presidential election was the third in a row in which foreign policy was not seriously discussed by the candidates," writes Kissinger. "In the face of perhaps the most profound and widespread upheavals the world has ever seen, [the United States] has failed to develop concepts relevant to the emerging realities." Kissinger tours the world in this book, describing how the United States should relate to various regions and countries. This is not a gripping book, but it is sober, accessible, brief, and comprehensive--and an excellent introduction to international relations and diplomacy.

Kissinger has opinions on just about every topic he raises, from globalization (for it) to international courts (against them, for the most part). He supports a vigorous missile-defense system: "The United States cannot condemn its population to permanent vulnerability." He opines on peace in the Middle East: "Israel should abandon its opposition to the creation of a Palestinian state except as part of a final status agreement." His claims are often eye-opening: "There are few nations in the world with which the United States has less reason to quarrel or more compatible interests than Iran." He is especially critical of domestic politics interfering with America's international relations: "Whatever the merit of the individual legislative actions, their cumulative effect drives American foreign policy toward unilateral and seemingly bullying conduct." The media has been a special problem in this regard, as it zips around the world in search of exciting but ephemeral stories, which are "generally presented as a morality play between good and evil having a specific outcome and rarely in terms of the long-range challenges of history." Does America need a foreign policy? Of course it does, and Henry Kissinger has done readers a service by outlining what a good one might be. --John J. Miller

    Book Description

In this timely, thoughtful, and important book, at once far-seeing and brilliantly readable, America's most famous diplomatist explains why we urgently need a new and coherent foreign policy and what our foreign policy goals should be in the post-Cold War world of globalization, and challenges Americans to understand that our foreign policy must be built upon America's permanent national interests, defining what these are, or should be, in the year 2001 and for the foreseeable future.

Here Dr. Kissinger shares with readers his insights into the foreign policy problems and opportunities that confront the United States today, including the challenge to conventional diplomacy posed by globalization, rapid capital movement, and instant communication; the challenge of modernizing China; the impact of Russia's precipitous decline from superpower status; the growing estrangement between the United States and Europe; the questions that arise from making "humanitarian intervention" a part of "the New Diplomacy"; and the prospect that America's transformation into the one remaining superpower and global leader may unite other countries against presumed imperial ambitions.

In seven accessible chapters, Does America Need a Foreign Policy? provides a crystalline assessment of how the United States' ascendancy as the world's dominant presence in the twentieth century may be effectively reconciled with the urgent need in the twenty-first century to achieve a bold new world order and lays out a compelling and comprehensively drawn vision for American policy in approaching decades.

    Download Description

America's most famous diplomat delivers his eye-opening take on the country's current role as the world's dominant imperial power. He offers both an invaluable perspective on the state of the union in global affairs, as well as a detailed prescription on how we must proceed. By examining America's present and future relations with Russia, China, Europe and the Middle East, as well as our current issues with globalization, military intervention, and free trade, Dr. Kissinger lays out a compelling and comprehensively drawn vision for American policy that is sure to garner intense debate and discussion throughout the country, especially as we begin a new presidency and a new millennium.

    Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars A Diplomatic World Tour .......2007-02-10

Dr. Kissinger dissects the world into their geopolitical grouping, and discusses where current trends are taking each group. The book may be a little outdated since 911 and world terrorism was pushed to front stage, but generally the geopolitical groups remain. A united Europe dealing with a Russia once again as a rising power, the Middle East and the consequences of China becoming a mature power. As a reader that was of draft age during the Vietnam war it was ironic to read that Dr.Kissinger believes that the USA should not be a major player in the far East, but a better plan would be to play the power broker for the rivaling countries referencing Britain's role in regard to the powers on the European continent during the era of Napoleon.
This book is an easy read, very understandable. I read this book because the USA is always criticized for having no foreign policy every time World events hit us broadside.

5 out of 5 stars Does America Need a Foreign Policy? ... by Dr.Kissinger PhD.......2006-07-07

Dr.Kissinger discusses the waning influence of Russia and the
rising Chinese modernization program. The author asks that we
develop a bond and new world order rather than a sheepish
acceptance of whatever happens over time. American pre-eminence
is a concommitant part of our ultimate destiny. The Treaty of
Westphalia in 1848 set forth the policy of national soverignty.
This policy implementation has been in place for decades since that time.

There is a new concept of Universal Humanitarianism and Jurisdiction by individual nations or even groups. Currently,
the historic nation states group together in order to formulate
strategies which benefit all. NAFTA is a clear example of this
doctrine in implementation. In the past, far lesser alliances and
transformations lead to big wars. The author believes that
nuclear proliferation renders war less likely because of the
strategic congruence of interests and stakes.

Currently, India, China, Russia and Japan treat each other as
strategic rivals. Previously, the Atlantic Relationship lasted
due to Russia, the unification of Germany and a growing European
identity. Russia proclaimed a zone of special influence in the
Balkans. Asia's challenge is how to prevent neighbors from
joining coalitions against it. The Middle East and Africa are
in a considerable state of flux. According to Dr.Kissinger,
humanitarianism is limited by our willingness to pay an
incremental price which may or may not be the ultimate price.

The book is a good historic rendition of the previous approaches
to global challenges, the new challenges posed and the strategic
    interests aligned for the future.

5 out of 5 stars Grand tour of the world situation.......2006-06-17

This is a grand tour of the world situations facing the US. Henry shows great insight in showing how cultural values in different countries are misunderstood by US ambassadors, who are political apointees based on contributing to the party. One interesting aspect is the subtle condemnations of the Clinton foreign policy being incompetent and ineffective.

4 out of 5 stars A classic overview but largely irrelevant in the current times........2006-05-10

Kissinger writes with authority but- considering his past- why woudn't he! I guess because geo- politics is such a dynamic field, foreign policies need constant updates with times. For example, Kissinger's book gives us no idea how to steer American foreign policy vis-a-vis rise of strong modern Russia in international politics, American muddle in Iraq, defiant Iran and dangerous hermit kingdom of North Korea that has invented an entirely new art of nuclear blackmail/ threats in international relations.

Besides,I do not think Kissinger's advice on leaving violent world conflicts alone is either humanist or Christian or keeping up with the notion of America as the world's most powerful democracy and the land of liberty.

Not doing the right thing is tantamount to doing the wrong thing. Foreign policy of America ought to run according to the democratic and liberal principles America itself was founded upon. Bit of exercise of such a humane approach could have stopped massive human tragedies, horrifying genocides like Rawanda and brutal tyrannies like Uzbekistan.

American support and goodwill for human freedom in the world can only have positive impact on America's international image and trade. Compare such humane/ noble/ righteous actions to the weird approach of propping up dictators in Latin America, Iraq (Saddam Hussein), Afghanistan (Taliban) that super cool think tanks in the State Department have carried on in the past. What in the name of sweet hell were they thinking ? Maybe Mr. Kissinger knows better.

Also, dark side of hidden foreign policies and covert criminal operations/ cover-ups without the proper knowledge of citizens is in fact a betrayal. Having said that, Kissinger's overview is infiormative and interesting personal slant/study.

Alternative media sources are very important for informed public opinion. I recommend upcoming book by Craig Murray, 'Murder in Samarkand' that unveils the dark underbelly of foreign offices and their policies that are barely considerate of human freedom or dignity.

5 out of 5 stars Unbelievable Timing - Destined for Historical Study.......2006-01-25

This book has been described as Kissinger-light by some people I know. What that means is it doesn't get bogged down on every detail. Instead, it is a very readable book that people with only a modicum of international knowledge can still enjoy. It basically is a summary of U.S. foreign policy since it was forged as a nation.

Kissinger outlines each region of the world and then analyzes them with a uniquely discerning mind. The thrust of this book is how America went from its cold-war strategy in world affairs up until the summer before 9/11. Kissinger analyzes Clinton's attempts to develop a new policy and then shows how Clinton fumbled and floundered in every attempt outside our shores.

The best thing about this book and the reason it will be a classic for history students is its timing. The book ends just before 9/11 happened. I can not think of a better person than the foremost expert in world affairs to write a compendium just prior to such a watershed mark in world history.

This book will serve as the best tool of knowing just what was going on in the world and where things were heading prior to that fateful day that changed everyone's idea of what was happening in the world.

With the exception of a few fanatics that think they are still living in the sixties, Everyone knows that Kissinger is a brilliant man that is not easily matched on the world level. Kissinger's ability as Secretary of State was unprecedented in the 20th century and will not easily be surpassed in the 21st. His ability to analyze the minutia of details and events throughout the globe is awesome. The fact is when Kissinger speaks everyone with an interest in foreign affairs takes it serious and does not balk at what he has to say. There is no one else on the scene today that commands that kind of respect.

    Book Description

Does America, as George W. Bush has proclaimed, have a special mission, derived from God, to bring liberty and democracy to the world? How much influence does the Christian right have over U.S. foreign policy? And how should America deal with violent Islamist extremists?

Madeleine Albright, the former secretary of state and bestselling author of Madam Secretary, offers a thoughtful and often surprising look at the role of religion in shaping America's approach to the world. In this illuminating account, she argues that, to be effective, U.S. policy makers must understand the power and place of religion in motivating others and in coloring how American actions are perceived. Defying the conventional wisdom, Albright suggests not only that religion and politics are inseparable, but that their partnership, when properly harnessed, can be a force for justice and peace.

    4 out of 5 stars Ultimate Answer.......2007-10-06

I must confess I have been following her public life since she became Secretary of State. I am her most avid reader having read her memoir six times. I ended my last reading on that book almost two weeks ago, and I finished reading the mighty and the almighty in five days last friday. To the point, I expected her second volume not to be a research work, it seems as though if I had to talk about the Middle East in school, this book would definitely be my guidance on that matter.

Now in all seriousness, I expected this book to be more about her accomplishments in government, and her sharp insights regarding recent events. This book could've just as easily be called 'The Mighty, The Almighty and Middle East Conflicts'. Do NOT get me wrong, I am all for that, I do believe the Middle East is, will and has shaped the world in every single way. Religion must be taken seriously into account as a player in world events, definitely. I am not against the content nor the topics of this book. I just wanted it to be more 'Madeleiney', if you will.

Mrs. Albright, if you are, or someone who knows you, reading this, I want you to know I expect your third book to be the ultimate answer to today's US Government Administration failures.

3 out of 5 stars An Admirable Lady!.......2007-09-16

I think very highly of Madeline Albright and respect her accomplishments very much. I feel that the book is a little difficult to read though and I had a hard time sticking with it. It is however filled with lots of facts and events that make it worth the dedication.

5 out of 5 stars Return to High American Ideals.......2007-08-26

This book may be directed to the "choir," as other reviewers have noted, but even the choir needs some encouragement from time to time. We've been through a rough 8 years.
I'm with her in her final comment: "I will never accept, however, that the United States is not better than we have been these past few years; nor will I stop believing (or praying) that we will recover our balance and begin again -- and soon -- to command the world's respect, and our own."
Human beings are religious animals, and we do perceive things differently. It is important to be tolerant of the beliefs of others; many of us are seeking God the best way we know how.
Politics and religion are both valid aspects of human life, but they are not the same thing.

3 out of 5 stars Intelligent work about the subtleties of foreign policy wrt religion.......2007-07-17

Ms. Albright starts the book by providing background on how Americans have best handled religion in general. She gives several quotes from the founding fathers:

"George Washington disclaimed any interest in whether people were 'Mohametans, Jews or Christians of any sect, or Atheists.' His sole concern was that they should have the right to exercise freedom of worship, expression, and thought."--Page 18.

She then almost ventures into political heresy by giving a meaningful historical-political context to the Jewish-Palestinian conflict: (I had not been aware of the extent to which power elites in the world had gotten on board the Zionist mission.)

The remainder of the book is full of background about Judaism, Christianity, but especially Islam, that few are aware of--certainly not the current gang at the helm. Well worth the read, though Ms. Albright does not appreciate, or acknowledge anyway, the role of the CIA in creating the "world of terror."

      Book Description

When predicting the effects of changing climate and carbon dioxide on plants at the global scale there is a major stumbling block--we have very little information, in many cases none, about how plants will respond in the future. In order to circumvent this problem, and until more information on species accumulates, we reduce the diversity of species to a diversity of functions and structures. The structures may be trees, shrubs, herbs and grasses. The functions may be types of photosynthetic processes, the capacity to minimize water loss and varying the timing of growth. This book describes approaches and methods for defining these functional types in ways that maximize our potential to predict accurately the responses of real vegetation with real species diversity. This book will be useful to those interested in botany, ecology, and environmental science.

Beautiful, mahogany leather bound. Very-well laid out with many maps specific to the readings. The notes are extremely helpful. The personality profiles give more insight to the authors.

5 out of 5 stars good choice for study.......2007-09-28

I am pleased with the content of the bible and how it explains everything. Jesus quotes are not in red. It is large and heavy. Not practical for me to take to church every week. A great reference to have at home for study.

      5 out of 5 stars The Bible.......2007-06-17

It is clear, easy to read and answers all my "translation" questions....with the modern explanations of each verse!

5 out of 5 stars Great Reading and Study!.......2007-06-14

This Bible is very nice, easier to read than many and it has very detailed explanations to help you understand just what you are reading. It has reference materials to back up explanations. The larger print is wonderful; although, be aware, that the book is heaver due to more pages. I'm really glad I purchased this Bible and recommend it to others.

      5 out of 5 stars AWESOME.......2007-05-12

This is the most awesome study bible that I have ever owned. Wish I would have had it years ago.
I love that it is NIV and that it has large print. It has every thing in it that you need to do in depth bible study.
I would suggest that if you are looking for an awesome study bible this is the one to get.

      Book Description

In this remarkable book, Anna Quindlen, one of America’s favorite novelists and a Pulitzer Prize– winning columnist, once again gives us wisdom, opinions, insights, and reflections about current events and modern life. “Always insightful, rooted in everyday experience and common sense...Quindlen is so good that even when you disagree with what she says, you still love the way she says it,” said People magazine about her number one New York Times bestseller Thinking Out Loud, and the same can be said about Loud and Clear.

With her trademark insight and her special ability to convey the impact public events have on ordinary lives, Quindlen here combines commentary on American society and the world at large with reflections on being a woman, a writer, and a mother. In these pieces, first written for Newsweek and The New York Times, Loud and Clear takes on topics ranging from social change to raising children, from the political and emotional aftermath of September 11 to personal values, from the impact on individuals of global events to the growth that can be gained by spending summer days staring into the middle distance. Grounding the public in the private, connecting people to each other and to the greater world, Quindlen encourages us to develop authentic lives, even as she serves as a catalyst for political and social change.

“Anna Quindlen’s beat is life, and she’s one hell of a terrific reporter,” said Susan Isaacs, and Quindlen’s unique qualities of understanding and discernment, everywhere evident in her previous bestsellers, including A Short Guide to a Happy Life and Living Out Loud, can be found on every page of this provocative and inspiring book.

4 out of 5 stars a perfect front seat companion on the way to and from kid activities.......2006-10-30

i finished the book today. it has been a wonderful companion, all 288 pages of it. the book features 65 of quindlen's previously told tales, formerly featured in her new york times and newsweek columns during her journalism days.

i loved reading the book--and, starting with the least important reason on my list of important reasons i loved this book--her columns were all of similar lengths, retold in the book in about 4 pages each. because i have a limited attention span, and spend various amounts of time waiting in the car for kids and their activities to begin or end, the book is a perfect front seat companion--helping me make good use of the otherwise wasted waiting time.

i loved the book for lots of other reasons, too. i got to know more about an author i've come to treasure--and discovered a number of things that made me feel proud of her for being the things, and me, for liking her books. turns out quindlen is a catholic mom, feminist trailblazer, democratic idealist in the practical sense. she was the first woman more than a dozen times. she noticed the best, and wrote about it.

5 out of 5 stars Very well written.......2006-09-11

I am utterly amazed at how well Anne writes and is able to say the things that should be said. This book was so very thought provoking. Even if you don't agree with everything you certain will come away with a deeper meaning. Man, I wish I could write like she does!!!

5 out of 5 stars Food for Thought.......2006-08-20

As with all her other books of essays, Ms Quindlen doesn't sugarcoat her feelings--you know where she stands. And whether you agree with her take on a subject or not, she always provides opportunity for thought, some nuance or different angle you may not have considered. I enjoy packing the book in my tote or purse, so if I have to wait for an appointment or am grabbing a bite to eat by myself, I can read some Anna Q.

      5 out of 5 stars Living Proof.......2004-07-21

I am living proof that one need not agree with Anna on politics to enjoy her writing. As a Republican, I find myself at odds with just about every political stance she takes, but I so admire her style of writing that I want to read on to see how she is going to present her ideas, and I am never disappointed by that presentation. I recommend this book to all aspiring writers as a guide to the craft of essay writing.

5 out of 5 stars Recommended for prior fans of Quindlen's writings.......2004-06-07

Anna Quindlen is one of America's best-known novelists and a Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, so it's no mystery her Loud And Clear commentary on American society and life would translate well to audio, with her exceptional upbeat style and personal voice. Recommended for prior fans of Quindlen's writings who here will find her voice brings her perspectives on American culture to life.

      Book Description

"If a martian landed in America and set out to determine the nation's official state religion, he would have to conclude it is liberalism, while Christianity and Judaism are prohibited by law.

Many Americans are outraged by liberal hostility to traditional religion. But as Ann Coulter reveals in this, her most explosive book yet, to focus solely on the Left's attacks on our Judeo-Christian tradition is to miss a larger point: liberalism is a religion—a godless one.

And it is now entrenched as the state religion of this county.

Though liberalism rejects the idea of God and reviles people of faith, it bears all the attributes of a religion. In Godless, Coulter throws open the doors of the Church of Liberalism, showing us its sacraments (abortion), its holy writ (Roe v. Wade), its martyrs (from Soviet spy Alger Hiss to cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal), its clergy (public school teachers), its churches (government schools, where prayer is prohibited but condoms are free), its doctrine of infallibility (as manifest in the "absolute moral authority" of spokesmen from Cindy Sheehan to Max Cleland), and its cosmology (in which mankind is an inconsequential accident).

Then, of course, there's the liberal creation myth: Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.

For liberals, evolution is the touchstone that separates the enlightened from the benighted. But Coulter neatly reverses the pretense that liberals are rationalists guided by the ideals of free inquiry and the scientific method. She exposes the essential truth about Darwinian evolution that liberals refuse to confront: it is bogus science.

Writing with a keen appreciation for genuine science, Coulter reveals that the so-called gaps in the theory of evolution are all there is—Darwinism is nothing but a gap. After 150 years of dedicated searching into the fossil record, evolution's proponents have failed utterly to substantiate its claims. And a long line of supposed evidence, from the infamous Piltdown Man to the "evolving" peppered moths of England, has been exposed as hoaxes. Still, liberals treat those who question evolution as religious heretics and prohibit students from hearing about real science when it contradicts Darwinism. And these are the people who say they want to keep faith out of the classroom?

Liberals' absolute devotion to Darwinism, Coulter shows, has nothing to do with evolution's scientific validity and everything to do with its refusal to admit the possibility of God as a guiding force. They will brook no challenges to the official religion.

Fearlessly confronting the high priests of the Church of Liberalism and ringing with Coulter's razor-sharp wit, Godless is the most important and riveting book yet from one of today's most lively and impassioned conservative voices.

"Liberals love to boast that they are not 'religious,' which is what one would expect to hear from the state-sanctioned religion. Of course liberalism is a religion. It has its own cosmology, its own miracles, its own beliefs in the supernatural, its own churches, its own high priests, its own saints, its own total worldview, and its own explanation of the existence of the universe. In other words, liberalism contains all the attributes of what is generally known as 'religion.'" —From Godless

      Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars One of Her Best Books.......2007-10-17

Brilliant, Witty, Entertaining, and Incisive. Ann Coulter puts her finger precisely on the pulse of the virulent anti-God and anti-Christian animus of the Neo-Stalinist Left that occupies the DemocRatic party, the University Proffessoriate, the public school educrats, and the Leftwing Media.

4 out of 5 stars A bit inflammatory but still many good points.......2007-10-16

Like many of Ann Coulter's books, this book is rather inflammatory. Maybe that's why a lot of people read them - she says the stuff that the rest of us are afraid to say. Like many of her other books, either you love this book or you hate it. In many ways Ann Coulter is the conservative counterpart of Molly Ivins.

Her basic point is that, contrary to what liberals would have you believe, their position is not religiously neutral. She argues that liberalism has all the characteristics of a religion, a thesis that's sure to get a rise from many supposedly nonreligious liberals.

Regarding teacher pay, I have to admit I was rather shocked by some of the points she brings up; I simply had never heard a lot of that before. I have since seen similar information elsewhere, so I believe her points here are accurate. This section is sure to irritate the teachers' unions by pointing out rather inconvenient facts that go against their standard dogma (such as the fact that teachers are actually paid very well for the amount of work they do). This is sure to challenge what you've always been told about the subject.

Regarding Darwinism, she points out that evolution is bogus science. Sure, this section does contain some errors in it (Coulter is not a scientist), but overall she brings up many valid points that can serve as a foundation for further discussion. I would encourage who would like a more thorough scientific critique of Darwinism to seek out books by the likes of Michael Behe and his associates at the Discovery Institute, or from the likes of Ken Ham and his associates at Answers in Genesis.

She brings up a lot of other really interesting points, but I'll leave it to you to read the book yourself. Sure, there's a lot of rhetoric in this point, and sure a lot of it is deliberately inflammatory, but a lot of it's really thought provoking too. The tone of the book apparently makes it difficult for most people to read or discuss it rationally or objectively, but if you do I think you'll find a lot of food for thought, and maybe have some of your pet ideologies challenged. I'm glad someone finally had the courage to say a lot of the stuff she did. Definitely recommended.

1 out of 5 stars So much hatred, so little brains..........2007-10-09

I wonder why some people in this country who claim to be such good Christians have no problem with our government slaughtering thousands of families? If the church of liberalism is godless, then what would you call a government who has done just that? Invaded another country for its own personal gain? I just can't help but wonder what makes Ann Coulter tick, that her vision is so clearly focused in one direction while totally ignoring the sins of her own. I am reminded of the Bible passage that talks about removing the log from one's own eye before attempting to remove the speck from a brothers. These kind of books will do nothing more than to continue to polorize this country, other than making her more money from idiots who cheer her on.

5 out of 5 stars Makes for good educational reading........2007-10-07

Read this and other far right books. Read far left liberalism books. You should realize that both the far right and the far left are necessary evils. As long as the left and right agree not to agree we as a nation will prosper. Much like our government. When both parties agree you best worry! Imagine our nation without the right. Many would join on the dark side. Imagine our nation without the left. We would be how should I say, Talibaned or held to the strict standards of Sharia law, in the Christian sense. Careful how far we lean. We might just fall and not get back up.

5 out of 5 stars Ann is dead on....again!.......2007-10-03

This book is so dead on and rock solid. Everything in this book, footnotes the source, and is packed with information on the whole liberal thought process. The book is also full of analogies like 'liberals freak out if a tree is cut down, but could care less about aborting babies'. This book along with Bill O'Reilly's Culture Warrior, are awesome at exposing a lot of this left wing agenda. Ann Coulter, is/was an attorney and knows her stuff. Of course all the liberals are going to rate this a '1' so no one reads it, but you will not be disappointed in this book.
