3 out of 5 stars Interesting but not what I expected.......2007-09-14

This is more like an encyclopedia than "a users guide for the 21st century". The hefty volume includes hundreds of short topical articles on lots of different things but doesn't go into a lot of detail on any. I was hoping for more practical examples of things I could do to survive in a changing world but was disappointed. For example, there is a section on Green Rooftops. You would think that a "users guide" might give you practical advice on creating one. Instead it talks about how they are great for saving energy and creating gardens. Okay... I get that and I agree but maybe a little more info please?

All and all the writing is good and it does cover a lot of topics I just think that the description when buying it leads one to believe there is a bit more depth than there actually is.

4 out of 5 stars This book could change your world.......2007-08-29

This publication is worth it's weight in something quite valuable. It provides a mass of information on all sorts of subjects relating to changing your outlook and how to live within the planets available resources. It has some surprisingly useful tips on things like how to make a small apartment look and feel big by using great space saving ideas; how to use less of the planets scarce resources in many ways.

My only beef is that it looks like a self published volume and so lacks gravitas somehow. For example it does not have any information on the inner fly page about the book, such as year of publication, publisher, ISBN Number, and other essential info. Another problem I found was actually finding some of the reference works in the text. Not enough info to enable the reader to trace sources adequately.

I found it very difficult for example to find the publisher of one work I was interested in. Google hadn't even heard of the publisher. I did find them and the book eventually but had to try very hard and boy, was it obscure.

Even though the jacket and outer are quite attractive, they reek of self-publishing. This is not good for the image of a book on such an important subject.

Sorry chaps, only 6 out of 10 from me.

4 out of 5 stars Good reference.......2007-07-15

Some info is out of date and biased, ie article on Vancouver (my home town). Lots is covered, not in much depth but there are lots of references for further reading. Would be a great addition to everyone's reference section.

5 out of 5 stars brilliant!.......2007-07-12

For a "users guide" I actually expected something more "portable"... its brilliant in its content and design!!

5 out of 5 stars A smart and inclusive book, really recommendable! .......2007-07-03

The book contains small articles about everything between heaven and earth all within the envionmental scope of interest. You find your self reading it, flipping through the pages wanting more info...A fun concept between an excellent encyclopedia, interesting facts book and a nice coffee table book. Only con might be the size, making it a bit bulky to read for more than a short while...

Book Description

One of the most commonly asked questions in a mathematics classroom is, "Will I ever use this stuff in real life?" Some teachers can give a good, convincing answer; others hem and haw and stare at the floor. The real response to the question should be, "Yes, you will, because algebra gives you power" – the power to help your children with their math homework, the power to manage your finances, the power to be successful in your career (especially if you have to manage the company budget). The list goes on.

Algebra is a system of mathematical symbols and rules that are universally understood, no matter what the spoken language. Algebra provides a clear, methodical process that can be followed from beginning to end to solve complex problems. There's no doubt that algebra can be easy to some while extremely challenging to others. For those of you who are challenged by working with numbers, Algebra For Dummies can provide the help you need.

This easy-to-understand reference not only explains algebra in terms you can understand, but it also gives you the necessary tools to solve complex problems. But rest assured, this book is not about memorizing a bunch of meaningless steps; you find out the whys behind algebra to increase your understanding of how algebra works.

In Algebra For Dummies, you'll discover the following topics and more:

No matter if you're 16 years old or 60 years old; no matter if you're learning algebra for the first time or need a quick refresher course; no matter if you're cramming for an algebra test, helping your kid with his or her homework, or coming up with next year's company budget, Algebra For Dummies can give you the tools you need to succeed.

ALGEBRA FOR DUMMIES was purchased, along with ALGEBRA WORKBOOK FOR DUMMIES, for a close friend that has gone back to school at a "mature" age. Together they haven't exactly made her a raving algebraic enthusiast but they put forth the concepts in a manner that is logical and easier to understand. I don't think she'll score a 4 for this class but there's no doubt that she'll achieve a passing grade!

5 out of 5 stars great book algebra for dummies.......2007-09-30

ordered this book for my son that has problems in algebra, and he stated he was very satisfied. very satisfied

1 out of 5 stars Do not buy this book if you really want to learn algebra.......2007-09-22

I am currently studying to take the GMAT and I haven't done algebra for at least 15 years, so basically - I don't know algebra. In my opinion this book is poorly laid out, it uses examples that would require you to know equations that aren't even explained until later chapters. Additionally very large numbers are used in many of the examples and practice questions. Why on earth if you are teaching the basics would you use such large numbers? Using 345 instead of 2 is patronizing, I just want to know how to do the work; the numbers are completely irrelevant to me because I am learning!

This book sucks!!

5 out of 5 stars Meets my needs as a returning student needing review.......2007-08-27

I took algebra years ago, and wanted to brush up before taking a formal
class. This book is fine for my purposes. I like being able to look up concepts and definitions that I had trouble undersanding the first time around. The language is clear, and the explanations seem to give just enough detail without being long-winded. I wish this book had been around when I was in high school!

If you want a book with lots of problems and practice drills, this will NOT be a good choice. The purpose of the book is mainly to help you understand the problem-solving process. The emphasis is firmly on teaching the vocabulary and concepts used in algebra, so you will have them in your head when you start encountering actual problems and homework assignments. This knowledge can then be applied to whatever textbooks are used in your algebra class.

Great book for reviewing forgotten concepts, or as a reference when you encounter something in class that doesn't make sense as presented in your textbook or by your teacher. I would also recommend it as a pre-algebra book, if you want to get a head start on learning the basic ideas behind algebra. However, it isn't the only book you need, because learning algebra (or any form of math), requires plenty of practice using the kinds of exercises you find in conventional textbooks.

Product Description

Culled from the author's personal interviews with band members, record company executives, management, friends and fans, 'The Grand Delusion' is the first biography of the superstar rock group Styx. Beginning with "Lady" in 1974, Styx delivered a string of hits including "Come Sail Away", "Fooling Yourself", "Miss America", "Renegade", "Blue Collar Man", "Babe", "The Best Of Times", "Too Much Time On My Hands", "Don't Let It End", "Show Me The Way" and "Mr. Roboto". Styx has sold more than 35 million albums in a career that spans three decades. 'The Grand Delusion' tells the unauthorized story of one of the true superstar acts of the rock era.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Styx years in major detail..............2007-10-18

A big fan of Styx (such as myself for 35 years) will appreciate Whitaker's efforts in detailing all the things that happened over parts of five decades with this successful classic rock band. I read the entire book in just a few evenings. Casual or non fans might find this to be too much information though. A lot of the details focus on the negative things that happened between the band members over the years which is typical of many books that I have read about rock stars. Band member Chuck Panozzo's book, The Grand Illusion, has more of a positive focus on things if you would prefer that kind of view point with this subject matter. One negative about Whitaker's effort is that there are many "typos" and editing errors in the published verson of this book which seems unprofessional to me.

4 out of 5 stars The Grand Delusion: The Unauthorized True Story of Styx.......2007-09-21

This book is wide open and full of the "between the lines" reading. I felt as though it completed the knowledge I had previously of the group Styx. They are my favorite, of all times, group. This book is full of interviews with people who were in direct contact with each member of the group Styx. How each had their own endeavors to reach the goals of the group to make them so successfull. I have
suggested this book to all of my friends who go to all of their concerts, and they too, read this book, and agreed that this book is great.

5 out of 5 stars WOW!! GREAT BOOK!!.......2007-09-10

This book was incredibly well done I learned a lot about my favorite band from this book, because it has accounts from people who were there, band members, crew members, sound guys, producers, managers, and unbelievable account of an even more unbelievable band. You learn so much about the band in all the phases of their careers and even a little bit about other bands as well

3 out of 5 stars Get an Editor....please.......2007-08-04

Being a diehard Styx fan all my life, I enjoyed Whitaker's behind the scenes look into the history of this great band. But if you are going to publish a book like this, why in the world would you not get an editor? Though there are many good things about the book, it was very amateurish in its publication. Extra spaces EVERYWHERE, some typos, and redundancies galore (for example, he starts a new chapter by saying the same thing found at the end of the previous one and with every album, he states that song X "was the obvious choice" for the radio single). I thought I was going to scream if I had to read "By the time..." one more time.

If he would have given this to an editor who could have given him some feedback, the publication could have been so much better.

That being said, Whitaker did an outstanding job of compiling and arranging quotes from others to tell the story. He did leave some questions unanswered and didn't include some things I would have like to have seen. However, I read it from cover to cover and enjoyed it as would any serious fan of the band. Just know going in that you'll have to overlook some of the problems I outlined above and you will enjoy the book.

One side note, the binding of the book isn't that great as one of my pages fell out.

4 out of 5 stars Interesting, gripping, and a bit depressing!.......2007-07-27

A very interesting read, one that kept me up late into the night wanting to get to the next chapter in the band's dysfunctional history. The author seems very unbiased in the debate about who was right/wrong, presenting all three main stars (Dennis, JY, and Tommy) as pretentious, self-righteous a-holes all unwilling to compromise for the greater good of the band. It was fairly depressing to read how easily the break up could have been avoided with a little more compromise (Dennis), a lot fewer drugs (Tommy), and a little less jealousy(JY). All in all, a very good oral history of the decline of Styx. My one complaint is that the book focuses solely on the negative things that happened. You would think that over the course of a decade of success (give or take) that the members of the band would have had fun together at least once!! Still, a fine read.

I'm 35 and studying for a COMPASS test (college entrance exam for those who never took the ACT/SAT). I failed Algebra in High School, skipped classes alot, and remembered absolutely nothing, but I have a good head for numbers and logic, so I've found myself able to understand most of the concepts in this book so far. If you have no head for numbers, or feel that you aren't good with logic problems/eyeballing math questions, then you may want to also purchase the "Algebra For Dummies", as this book only *briefly* goes into each concept.

Also, as a side note: please don't give an item a review of 1 star simply because another dealer fell through on delivery: it can mislead people who just look at the overall rating of a product. :-)

It correlates with the first book and you can use them together to fully understand the rules and concepts. A+++

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good, but be careful.......2007-08-22

I took calculus years ago, but I found I'd forgotten about everything about math, even algebra. The book explains trigonometry fairly well, but I found several errors. One problem contained a minus sign, but was worked out with a plus sign in the answers. Another problem had a similar mistake. Still, about every math book has mistakes, and this one does explain things well. Sometimes you have to really think to see how the author got the answer since a few steps were skipped, but that's probably a good mental exercise. I've had fun working through it and have been obsessed with finishing it at times, so I guess it's accomplishing its purpose.

4 out of 5 stars a decent book.......2007-08-10

A fine book for those who are real strong in algebra. At the risk of appearing sexist, it is definitely written from an female academic's point of view. Some real-world examples would be helpful. Overall, a decent book.

5 out of 5 stars Great thing from Dummies and Amazon.......2007-06-27

Trigonometry For Dummies (For Dummies (Math & Science))

This book is really good as a supplemental book for high school student. Since our school want to be an international school, I think this book and any other Dummies books will be relevant to be used for teaching and learning in International developmental based school.

5 out of 5 stars Great reference book.......2007-04-03

Recently took college-level calculus and forgot most of what I had learned in high school. Bought this along with "Calculus for Dummies" and used both to help me survive the course.

This book is definitely not comprehensive, but I still have to give it five stars for its great plain-english descriptions of some difficult concepts. I wouldn't buy this book as my only source to learn trigonometry, but as an accompaniment to a good class or as an assistant to help with homework, it does a great job.

2 out of 5 stars Not very thorough.......2007-02-01

This book is anything but a comprehensive guide. The author fails to go into verbose detail on almost every problem, leaving you guessing how she came to that conclusion. That would be fine if this was an advanced trig book, but it's the DUMMIES guide and as such I'd expect to be taken through every step of every problem. There's plenty of room for this; there are huge margins which could have been used to fill in more detail.

It also completely fails to explain trig identities in a sensible way, which if you're a student struggling with challenging trig identity problems, this book won't be of any help.

This book assumes a level of knowledge about Algebra and goes from there. It includes the usual "Dummies" cartoons and funny antics so it is enjoying to read for a "dreaded" subject. Not sure if it has helped me yet though.

I am using the book to tutor a couple of kids and it is working out great. It gives me an easy way to help them learn these concepts. I recommend it for any one who needs to review their skills or is having trouble learning these concepts.

5 out of 5 stars Great Book! if.............2006-07-07

This is a GREAT book for studying and reviewing algebra 2, but if you have not taken algebra, or if you took algebra and couldnt grasp most topics without going back to your textbooks to remember something, then you may want to get algebra for dummies to review, this book begins with a slight amount of review from algebra 1, but it will definetly not each you all of algebra 1 topics. I bought this book to study algebra 2 during the summer so I wont have to worry so much next year and ive learned alot from this book, great for dummies book I recomend it completely.

Anyone who has been following the new brain science in the popular press--and even those whose casual reading includes journals along the lines of Psychoneuroendocrinology--will be fascinated by the puckish observations of Brown University biologist Anne Fausto-Sterling, whose provocative and erudite essays easily establish the cultural biases underlying current scientific thought on gender. She goes on to critique the science itself, exposing inconsistencies in the literature and weaknesses in the rhetorical and theoretical structures that support new research. "One of the major claims I make in this book," she explains, "is that labeling someone a man or a woman is a social decision. We may use scientific knowledge to help us make the decision, but only our beliefs about gender--not science--can define our sex. Furthermore, our beliefs about gender affect what kinds of knowledge scientists produce about sex in the first place." Whether discussing genital surgery on intersex infants or the amorous lives of lab rats, the author is unfailingly clear and convincing, and manages to impart humor to subjects as seemingly unpromising as neuroanatomy and the structure of proteins. --Regina Marler

Book Description

This path-breaking study of gender and sexuality is the first to go beyond the nature/nurture debate to offer an alternate framework for considering questions of sex and sexuality.

Why do some people prefer heterosexual love while others fancy the same sex? Is sexual identity biologically determined or a product of convention? In this brilliant and provocative book, the acclaimed author of Myths of Gender argues that even the most fundamental knowledge about sex is shaped by the culture in which scientific knowledge is produced.

Drawing on astonishing real-life cases and a probing analysis of centuries of scientific research, Fausto-Sterling demonstrates how scientists have historically politicized the body. In lively and impassioned prose, she breaks down three key dualisms - sex/gender, nature/nurture, and real/constructed - and asserts that individuals born as mixtures of male and female exist as one of five natural human variants and, as such, should not be forced to compromise their differences to fit a flawed societal definition of normality.

5 out of 5 stars It's lengthy but worthwhile reading.......2007-01-09

This is an excellent book where the author discusses both the biological and social (environmental) aspects of gender to show the process of how society imprints meaning to our sexual bodies.

5 out of 5 stars sex & gender.......2006-09-05

Sexing the Body is a thick book, and an important one. The section of footnotes is nearly as long as the text of the book (which can be complicated when reading; I ended up using two bookmarks). That said, it covers the part of the conversation that most of us don't have when we talk about the difference between sex and gender. I have a friend who reads my stuff - she's a feminist, and smart. But whenever I say that we don't really know if there are only two sexes, she always writes "you mean genders here?" in the margin. But no, I mean sex. I mean XX or XY. Or "with penis" or "with clitoris." And that's exactly what Anne Fausto-Sterling covers in this book: how we came to decide that there are two sexes, how (through the times) science came to that standard, and why it's wrong and when it's wrong.

4 out of 5 stars The science of gender.......2006-06-27

This book is covers the science and politics of gender in a readable language. Fausto-Sterling examines biological experiments on lab animals as well as the history behind our concepts of male and female. She describes gender as an "interaction between small groups of people...[that] involves institutional rules."
It's a well thoughtout book full of useful information to anyone studying gender.

3 out of 5 stars Gender seen from a particular perspective.......2006-02-21

As a transgendered person who is trying to read as much information as possible about gender, this book does supply alot of historic, scientific and theoretical background. It is another important addition to my library. That being said, I was taken aback by her comments regarding transexuals on pp 253 as a "type of human" and "stereotypical member of their sex to be". If I misunderstood the inference, I apologize. If not, I am greatly offended and wonder why marginalizing my existence supports yours. Read Judith Butler as a comparison to this work.

5 out of 5 stars Understanding Gender Through A New Lens.......2005-10-07

Anne Fausto-Sterling's account of all genders and sexes (not just male/female, but everything in between) provides a humanitarian outlook which demonstrates just how far our culture will go to enforce gender dichotomies. About one in 5000 births results in an intersexed (ambiguous genitalia) infant. Most of the time doctors assign a sex to these babies, believing they could never grow into well-adjusted adults with ambigious sex organs. Yet, these surgeries usually include the removal of some or all nerve tissue leading most post operative intersexed people wishing they had never been touched when they grow older. Some of these stories are truly heart breaking and Fausto-Sterling not only explores the history behind these surgeries, but their impact on the day to day lives of thousands of individuals. Giving voice to a group that's not heard from much in mainstream media, Sexing the Body is a must read for anyone interested in the development of gender identity or social injustice.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Beautiful and useful.......2007-09-26

This is a wonderful book. The photos are very clear, and the colors of yarn used are beautiful. Information on varied techniques is included, such as three ways to make a corner in filet, how to make a multi-level flower. The book is a pleasure to use.

5 out of 5 stars Also a reference book......................2007-06-13

This is probably the best book I have to learn anything about crocheting. It is complete and all you'll ever need to learn any stitch or method. It is always right beside me when I am crocheting. I have been crocheting for years, since I was a child, and I don't know how I got along without it. When I teach my granddaughter how to crochet, you can believe she will own a copy of it.

3 out of 5 stars Good, but not for beginners.......2006-12-24

This is a great reference book for someone who already knows the stitches of crochet. I am fairly new to crochet (I've made of couple of basic blankets) and found this book to be rather confusing for learning new stitches. I thought that it would be great since there were a lot of clear pictures, but as I spent more time with the book, I found that the pictures are not of things that you actually want to see, such as exactly where they are telling you to insert your hook. The books shows how to do a lot of advanced techniques, which I think will be helpful when I get there, but it is definitely not for a beginner.

4 out of 5 stars No information about finishing.......2006-11-19

This is a fantastic book about every aspect of crochet--except for finishing projects. There is no instruction about finishing off, weaving in ends, etc. Overall, though, it is an amazing resource with clear pictures and instruction.

5 out of 5 stars Superb stitch almanac. Awesome photos. What more do you need?.......2006-08-26

I did a bit of crocheting as a pre-teen, but I never had a formal lesson, and my woebegone efforts sure demonstrated the lack. After a distance of 30 years, I decided to learn a bit more about the subject, and perhaps learn how it ought to be done. (Though I was surprised at how much I'd remembered!)

I looked around for a reference that would help me learn the basics. It's quite a challenge to find one, because you're trying to learn a three-dimensional craft, with movement, from a static two-dimensional page. So I was thrilled to come across Crocheting School: A Complete Course.

Note that, unlike most crocheting books, this is not a book of patterns. You won't find the "usual suspects" of caps, scarves, and sweaters. What you get instead is 138 pages of instructions and photos on _how to do it_. Every part of it is superbly done. The book does not skimp on photos: there are six clear photos to show how a single crochet stitch is done, and honest, I could learn how to do it from this set of pictures. At no point does it *tell* you how to do something without *showing* you. Plus, the photos are sharp and in-focus -- something that shouldn't need to be said, but is a common failing in craft books -- and even better, the author used color intelligently to make the visual contrast stand out, such as in "variations for working filet crochet corners" using blue and orange yarn.

Nor is this book for beginners only. I'll have plenty to keep me busy with the basics, and learning to make squares, circles, and to increase and decrease (all of which are covered, obviously). However, Crocheting School covers a lot more, from hairpin lace to broomstick lace to crocheting with beads to three-dimensional stitches (such as popcorn and horizontal pineapple).

Great reference. If you crochet, you ought to get this book.

5 out of 5 stars A truly amazing organized crime book.......2002-06-25

Claire Sterling does an amazing job of exposing the new world order of organized crime. Her references seem impeccable and the story she tells is one of world governments crippled by an inability to coordinate and cooperate to the degree that counter-governments (ie, crime families) are cooperating. As a result, the world Sterling paints is one where crime is rapidly becoming the single dominant force in world politics and economics.

4 out of 5 stars A Book Without Boundaries.......2001-09-28

For anyone who wants to know the indepth ramifications of the new threat of global organized crime then look no further than Claire Sterlings supberb effort. I have read two other of Claire Sterling's books and was impressed. Very few authors can boast such a talent for researching as Mrs Sterling does.
The book covers the networks of organized crime groups as she details their very important relationships with each of the other. Also what I found very impressive is the way she manages to get the figures for the numerous sums of money that is floating around so many the illegal markets. She also talks about the "Pax Mafiosi", something that Judge Falcone was aware of, the Pax Mafiosi being the new conglomeration of multinational criminal confederations, that is now the biggest threat to the worlds economy. The Russian Mafia are also mentioned to great aplomb, the mysterious syndicates that are now thriving following the break down of the old USSR. This book is an absolute must for anyone seeking knowledge about how the modern Mafia's are joining forces and becoming a multi hydra headed monster, that just keeps on growing new heads, when others are cut off.

5 out of 5 stars An Excellent Work that Deserves Serious Attention........1998-10-11

This book represents and remains one of the most significant studies of the threat magnitude of international organized crime available today. It is a shame that it is out of print and that it has not received the attention it deserves. Sterling's thoroughly documented study makes crystal clear the breadth and depth of control/leverage purchased with drug profits by international crime organizations acting as a cooperative international affiliation of predators with an objective of power and all that can be achieved with such power over societies little aware of their existence. Sterling's work is an important statement that should have received far more visibility.

Book Description

This new edition of The Art of Prolog contains a number of important changes. Most background sections at the end of each chapter have been updated to take account of important recent research results, the references have been greatly expanded, and more advanced exercises have been added which have been used successfully in teaching the course.

Part II, The Prolog Language, has been modified to be compatible with the new Prolog standard, and the chapter on program development has been significantly altered: the predicates defined have been moved to more appropriate chapters, the section on efficiency has been moved to the considerably expanded chapter on cuts and negation, and a new section has been added on stepwise enhancement -- a systematic way of constructing Prolog programs developed by Leon Sterling.

All but one of the chapters in Part III, Advanced Prolog Programming Techniques, have been substantially changed, with some major rearrangements. A new chapter on interpreters describes a rule language and interpreter for expert systems, which better illustrates how Prolog should be used to construct expert systems. The chapter on program transformation is completely new and the chapter on logic grammars adds new material for recognizing simple languages, showing how grammars apply to more computer science examples.

5 out of 5 stars Pricey but a must have.......2006-12-21

Admittedly, this one tends to be a bit pricey. But, the content is pure gold for any programmer. Nowhere is the Prolog paradigm better conveyed than here. And, it is of little value to you if you attempt to learn prolog with a mindset of some other language. Prolog is unique and demands a unique way of looking at computer programming in general. It is dated a bit in that it does not cover all the latest developments in Prolog/AI research but no other Prolog books provide the foundational understanding that it does. Get this one for a solid foundation and then build on it with others. See my listmania list of AI Language books for suggestions of followup titles.

5 out of 5 stars Great new programming paradigm........2005-09-27

I am currently working as a computer hardware design engineer. I have always been looking for new software methodology to improve my hardware design flow. Prolog, and especially its presentation in this book, shows me an interesting and powerful view of how computer programming should be.

Overall, I am a true believer in Prolog and logic programming after reading this book.

5 out of 5 stars One of the 4 best books on computer programming.......2005-02-15

This, to me, is one of the 4 best books on computer programming. Unfortunately, it is hard. Not because the book is poorly written - it is like a wonderful story, but because understanding how to think declaratively after being taught something like C or Java is like someone giving you a pair of wings when you're a mudfish.

Thinking declaratively changes how you think about problems and how you write code. It's a career changing experience. This book leads the way.

Top 4:
* Structure and Interpretation of Computer Programs (Sussman, Abelson)
* The Art of Prolog by Sterling/Shapiro
* Introduction to Algorithms by Cormen, etc.
* Concepts, Techniques, and Models of Computer Programming by Van Roy and Haridi

5 out of 5 stars A classic.......2003-08-12

This book is a must for anyone starting to program in Prolog or interested in logic programming.

A downsize of the book (if any) can be that it could have detailed more in the respect of Prolog's applications. The pleasant style of the authors would have made a wonderful introduction into these fields.

A real pleasure to read.

5 out of 5 stars Gentle and comprehensive.......2002-08-12

If you have previous programming experience, Prolog will be quite a challenge. Logic programming is very different from functional or imperative, and will definitely be a major culture shock.

The first part of the book introduces the concepts of logic programming at the right pace, giving you time to assimilate everything. The second part contains several applications of Prolog.

This is a great first book on Prolog and will certainly help you `getting it'.
