Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars. Loved it! Wonderful hero/heroine, and lots of passion!.......2006-11-25

This was a great book. The underline mystery story was a bit weak (and predictable!), but everything else was so good it really made up for it. This book is different than what Jill Shalvis publishes today. Her more recent novels are lighter romantic comedies - and they are all great too. Blue Flame has a gritty realism that makes you believe these people are real. There is a lot of depth to this story. It's also very sensual and packed with great chemistry between the hero/heroine. It is a "feel good" book that I highly recommend.

4 out of 5 stars Becoming stronger at the broken places.......2006-09-15

At first I was hesitant to read this novel because the lead male is a firefighter and it's like---sigh--know WHERE this is going.
But I was wrong! This is a well grounded story about what happens when a serious injury permanently changes not only the direction of your life but your complete identity. When the male lead is injured in an heroic rescue attempt, he is forced to come to terms with the end of one career--and nowhere else to go. Like many men, his job and identity are totally linked. He retreats to a dude ranch in Arizona, left to him by his estranged, deceased father and run profitably by a female ranch manager and her crew of outsiders. These people have linked together to form a kind of family and the male lead's presence--and disability--makes him just another hindrance to busy people.
The writing style is smart and has an edge to it that is refreshing. Sometimes we don't bounce back whole, but must adapt to a new challenge--becoming stong at the broken places.
Well developed characters, beautiful setting, meaningful sensuality--this book could work not just for us ladies but could speak to anyone at a changepoint in their lives.

4 out of 5 stars Second in a Stand Alone Series!.......2005-05-23

Ms. Shalvis has penned a very fine story indeed. This is a story about having what you think you want...but realizing you're not even close to the mark. It's also a story about forgiving and the sweet reward that can be found after.

Calli Hayes runs a dude ranch in Arizona. She has been working hard to make it a sucess with the dream and hope of eventually buying it from its rather absent land owner. This dream is shot down though once absent landowner shows up. Firefighter Jake Rawlins is there to recuperate after a nasty accident he sustained while fighting a fire. Callie can't forget the first time they met and the explosive attraction that surrounded them. She wants to stay immune to him but she can't fight the feelings he brings out.

Jake Rawlins is an injured fireman with no where to go, no one to care, and little options. He finally decides to go to "Blue Flame" in order to heal from his wounds. Immediatly things start to go wrong. He has to fight an attraction to the sassy Callie, face the insecurity that he many never fight fire again due to his injury, and try to fit in where he doesn't belong. On top of that...someone is out to destroy the Blue Flame. Little things soon become overwhelming big things that could undermine the success of the dude ranch and no one is above suspicion. Who is trying to harm Callie and the ranch...and why?

Jake and Callie were fun characters. There relationship is not a smooth one but fun to read as a result. Ms. Shalvis has created a wonderful world filled with many interesting characters. The secondary storyline between Amy and Jake's brother Tucker is sweet and entertaining. This is one author that I plan on reading again in the future.

5 out of 5 stars Blue Flame soars.......2005-04-19

Blue Flame by Jill Shalvis makes the worlds of firefighting and ranch life come alive.

Jake Rawlins needs to hide from the press after his recent firefighting rescue. He decides to spend some time at the ranch Blue Flame that his late father left to him. But the ranch isn't the quite place he thought it would be since he can't get thoughts of his ranch manager Callie out of his mind.

Callie Hayes has made a place for herself at Blue Flame. With the owner seldom showing up she had free reign. Now Jake has come back to stay for a few months, upsetting her routine and peace of mind. Jake and Callie shared one night of passion a few years ago that Callie thought was behind them. But with seeing each other daily the sparks start to fly.

Blue Flame is a fast paced story that keeps you in its gripe till the last page. The chemistry sizzles and the dialogue will keep you laughing. This story will touch your heart and stay with you long after its over.

5 out of 5 stars A Five Flame review from Sizzling Romances!.......2004-12-21

What an amazing book! There's not enough room here to post my entire review from my website, but here's my last several paragraphs:

Jake, in the meantime, wants Callie so badly it hurts. Therefore, BLUE FLAME is filled with tension - between Jake and Callie, Jake and Tucker, and the staff and the new cook, Amy - and is only exacerbated by the apparent sabotage and danger suddenly present to Callie.

Callie and Jake have a connection so acute, that it nearly burns through the pages. So, while Callie's trying to fight her feelings for Jake, he is realizing that he'll never go back to firefighting. The pain in his heart breaks Callie's heart, and the reader will feel the pain as well. This is one of the elements that really makes BLUE FLAME work - Callie's compassion. Despite this sadness, it is very exciting to watch Jake take on new things daily, even though he is still in a lot of pain. There are also enigmatic employees, some with deep-rooted problems, but with Callie's special touch, she's made them all a family. Yet the mystery remains - who's sabotaging the BLUE FLAME?

BLUE FLAME is an adventurous book in a very different way, but an adventure nonetheless. Part of the adventure is the various groups that are paying guests at the BLUE FLAME and the activities planned for them, while Jake struggles to fit in. The other part of this being an adventure, is trying to discover who is trying to hurt the ranch, including Callie.

Ms. Shalvis has written her characters remarkably well and watching them evolve draws the reader right into the story. The reader feels the pain, the joys, and the sadness of all the characters - not just Jake and Callie, but also the other members of the staff, and the troubles they are facing. This character-driven book still has a very strong plot and is an engaging read from beginning to end. I am very eager for the next book in this exciting series, as I'm positive Ms. Shalvis will continue to create compelling characters in a story that deeply hits the heart of the reader.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars An extraordinary collection by a new author.......1998-12-15

Lara Stapleton's collection of short stories is a incredible debut that made me eager to see what this new author has in store for the future. Stapleton's prose slowly unveils the truth of the lives of her characters to the reader and, in doing so, provokes any reader to examine his or her own position in the world.

5 out of 5 stars The best book I have read for years.......1998-12-10

This is one of those reads that erases everything around you and takes you to that part of your brain where you notice the tiniest thing around you and suddenly the details seem almost holy. It's hard to put down, it's hard to come back to your regular life. Stapleton has a knack for exposing and dignifying the tiny crimes we commit as humans stumbling through the void. Her prose makes me want to stop everything and pay attention to the weave. I recommend this book to anyone with a hungry brain and a cobwebby soul.

5 out of 5 stars DEPICTING THE BRUISE THE HEART TOO OFTEN BECOMES.......1998-12-03

The following are excerpts from a review I wrote on Lara Stapleton's THE LOWEST BLUE FLAME BEFORE NOTHING (review posted on LocalVibe Internet).

Life will always provide moments of loneliness, self-flaggellating doubts and immense frustrations. But when one is young, fresh out of college and just beginning a career, just starting to live -- like some of Stapleton's characters -- life can become so overwhelming that one simply wishes to hibernate in bed, the covers over one's head. In writing about this coming-of-age time, Stapleton depicts when the heart too often becomes a wound that simply won't heal. . . . Stapleton brings such life to her characters that the reader counts his/her blessings even as (metaphorical) tears may be shed in sympathy. However, it is also Stapleton's craftsmanship as a writer -- her deftness -- that prevents the stories from becoming maudlin. Stapleton offers mood pieces without sinking her coming-of-age stories into triteness. . . . And because THE LOWEST BLUE FLAME BEFORE NOTHING scarred my heart, I hope Stapleton in the future writes about "better moments" as well. The heart can only take so much pull from the gravity of black holes ever-present in the chaos of life.

5 out of 5 stars A Super-charged collection of stories!.......1998-11-12

Expertly decpicted characters, smooth plot lines, and a superb sense of narrative give Lara Stapleton's stories a lasting value. An important book for anyone interested in Asian American literature and what American writing will be in the years to come.

5 out of 5 stars The Blue Flame.......2007-07-14

The Blue Flame is the first book in the Daradawn Series. This book introduces the reader to Daradawn. Daradawn is an alternate dimensional world filled with magic, elves, dwarves, dragons, and unicorns. As the story starts, the reader meets Kelsey Cafferty, her allies, and her enemies.

Kelsey Cafferty is not originally from Daradawn. She is actually a photographer from our world, a former resident of San Francisco. Kelsey had accidentally stumbled upon a magical gateway from our world to Daradawn seven years earlier. Kelsey had stayed in this magical world to lead as Queen's Commander to fight the evil Dirkk. With the ongoing threat by Dirkk and his allies, Kelsey needs help that only her sister Regan can provide. Unfortunately, Regan is still in San Francisco and Kelsey has to wait until the gateway from Daradawn to our world reopens, for seven days once every seven years.

The Blue Flame is a beautifully written action filled fantasy adventure. The author brings the land of Daradawn, the magic, the adventure, and all of its inhabitants to life in full color. The reader can't help but be completely drawn into this world.

"The Blue Flame" is an excellent story, one that holds the reader's interest right up to the last page. The well-developed characters are true-to-life, and the descriptions of Daradawn and life there are so realistic that you wonder if the author might not have paid a visit to that world. I recommend this book highly and am awaiting with great anticipation another tale that will take me back to Daradawn.

I enjoyed The Blue Flame very much. It is the first fantasy novel I have read. Along with the characters we learn of magic, and how it must be controlled. I highly recommend the book. It is fast paced and once you start reading you do not want to put it down. The Blue Flame would make an outstanding movie.
