Outstanding Marriage Advice.......2007-10-18
I am a minister. Over the last six years I have presented "His Needs, Her Needs" to over 15 couples, prior to marriage. Some were young, first time marriage couples, many were divorced and embarking on their second marriages. Every couple has commented on the value of the information & advice contained in this book. Several of the couples found the counsel to be so important to the success of their current marriages that they have referred others to me. This book should be read and the chapter exercises completed, by every couple intent on marriage, as well as every married couple (no matter how long) who wish to develop a deeper, true loving, caring partnership.
One of the most helpful books I have ever read.......2007-09-14
I read this book after my sister recommended it to me. I only wish I could have read it before my divorce. It is a great book and even after the divorce it was very helpful.
could be better.......2007-08-29
Our marriage counselor gave us this book after I found out about an affair. While the book has many good points, I found it to be heavy on putting blame on the spouse who doesn't meet needs. The reason people have affairs is that they are selfish and covenant breakers. There are other ways to address needs not being met. We are now working out our differences, but at first my husband used the book to justify his actions. It could be a great book, used with care.
Review: His Needs, her Needs.......2007-08-23
This book was given as a gift to a couple who are experiencing difficulties in their young marriage. It was recommended to me by a wife who had used it successfully herself.
His Needs, Her Needs.......2007-08-13
What an eye opener. This has helped our marriage from 50-60% to 100-120%.
So many things we did not know about the differences in how we think.
God Bless.

Wonderful for any marriage.......2005-07-28
This book is used in the Family Dynamic's "Dynamic Marriage" course. We've been through the course 3 times. The first time, we were newlyweds and learned a lot about each other. The second time, we'd been married a little while and worked through some issues we needed help in. The third time, we had a great marriage, and we made it even better. It's a wonderful book and an excellent course. I'd recommend it to anyone. The course and the book together have been an indispensable tool in our marriage.
Helps you to fall in love again.......2000-03-31
This book contains worksheets that go along with two other books, "Love Busters" & "His Needs, Her Needs." These worksheets help you and your spouse identify for each other the things that kill your love and the things that help your love to grow. They help make you an expert in what will make your spouse fall in love and stay in love with you. The worksheets also help you identify and avoid the things you may unknowingly be doing to ruin and destroy your spouses love for you. There's also a neat worksheet on recreational companionship that helps you and your spouse decide on activities that you would enjoy doing together. This book is highly practical because it is an immediately effective way to figure out what's wrong in your marriage and it gives you solutions to those problems.

Dynamic.......2007-08-15
This book really helped me understand why it has taken me so long to obtain the things I want most in life without struggle. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to grow spiritually and desires to be very prosperous.
It's a lifesaver when nothing seems to be going your way.......2002-07-31
I have used this book as a guide to keep me on track towards success for over 20 years. I think it's the best prosperity book ever written. It's especially good for people who are in the stages of life like Joshua's--feeling like they are wandering without direction, wondering when they will succeed and how they will do it. Ponder's advice is practical, comforting and inspiring. She tells you how to stay focused and keep planning to reach your goals, even when it seems like everything in life is resisting you or thwarting you. Then she explains the attitudes and actions that help you overcome the obstacles to achieving your goals. It really is a wonderful book. Also, Ponder is the only prosperity author whose books are all different from one another--each one takes a different perspective and adds depth and scope to your understanding, not just of prosperity, but also your health, yourself and all your relationships.
questionable validity.......2000-10-02
I purchased this book based on a recommendation by an author I respect; James Russell. I'm certain the book will benefit any that believe that positive thinking will make positive things happen, and that thinking happy thoughts will enable you to fly. There is a certain amount of truth to that, but the author claims to base her philosophies on the Bible and then exercises extreme creative license in her interpretation of the scripture. She in fact gives suggestions and direction that are in direct contradiction to it often enough that I felt her validity was compromised, and I won't purchase any of her other books in the "millionaires of the Bible" series.
Book Description
To encourage and guide men in becoming the dads they want to be, Michael Farris addresses issues common in all families with daughters: friends, dating, personal appearance, and preparing for the roles she'll have as a woman. Michael Farris challenges fathers to take their unique opportunity to train daughters for life's challenges-in ways that only a dad can. Originally published as How a Man Prepares His Daughters for Life, it now includes new material on relating to an adult daughter.
Customer Reviews:
Solid advice.......2007-07-16
Conservative advise on raising daughters. It is a refreshing viewpoint from someone who obviously cares for his daughters long term success. While not agreeing with everything I picked up several ideas that I hope will make me a stronger father.
A powerful book about raising your daughter. A must read!.......2007-02-23
What a Daughter Needs From a Dad is a book for dads about raising their daughters, from birth to parenthood. Author Michael Farris has five girls of his own and uses this book to advise men on their roles as their daughter's protectors, leaders and spitritual guides.
Farris gives advice on raising daughters from infancy to adulthood, and backs it all with Biblical principles and scriptures. Farris includes plenty of antecdotes from his own experiences to back up the points he is trying to make. Farris also warns you about what kind of dad you shouldn't be. You SHOULD NOT be an "All-Male" dad, only spending time with your daughter if it includes many activities such as watching sports. You shouldn't be a "pushover" granting her every request, or a "sugar daddy", thinking you can buy her love. Farris urges the reader to become engaged in his daugter's lives, to be supportive and admit when you are wrong.
The one unique point I will take away from this book is the chapter on dating. With my daughter being only three, I'm closer in years to my dating period that she is to hers, but Farris says he didn't let his daughters date until they were actually ready for marriage. This seems controversial, highly conservative, and pratcially unrealistic. But the principles are strong. Farris says that girls, and boys, when in "love" when they are young (high school or even college), but not ready for marriage, they will ultimately give parts of their heart to the person that will not end up being their spouse. So, while girls may remain sexually pure, their hearts will be damaged. I don't know if it is reallistic to keep a high school senior from dating, but I will definitely pass on to my daughter some of the wisdom in this book.
In conclusion, this is a short, powerful book on raising your daughters. Farris stresses that men can't do this alone. They need the help of others (spouse, brother, friend) and most importantly, God. Men should pray for their children everyday and men should not put off building a relationship with their children. In a few short years, their kids will be gone and out of the house. Now is the time to build that strong, biblically based relationship that God asks men to create with their children.
A new perspective to how we'll raise our daughters..........2007-02-03
Sure, they're just 3 and 5 but every day counts, right? My husband embraced this book and so much of the suggestions rather solidly. He was raised in a home of all boys with rather Godless and unstable parents. While I was raised in a strong Christian home, I think my upbringing would have been so much richer and less heart-wrenching had this book been around 38 years ago... Our favorite part is about the dating-free courtship and how that will prepare our daughters for a lasting marriage and a pure unity to their future spouses. What a great book.
well worth reading.......2006-10-07
The book offers many good thoughts on raising daughters. Although the book is overtly Christian, an open-minded non-Christian might benefit as well.
The only thing keeping the book from a 5-star rating is that the author frequently amplifies one experience with one girl into a principle with broad application. Sometimes this practice works well, but other times it struck me as a stretch.
A Must must read for Moms and Dads.......2005-10-21
This is a wonderful book. I bought it for my husband b/c we are headed into the teen years and thought it would be helpful.
This is a must read for mothers and fathers. This book was so very helpful to us. I am hoping that it will save us from some of the heartache that we have seen others go though.
The book is wonderfully written and very interesting and easy to read.
I really do not think that anyone would be sorry for getting this book.
There are several girls in our family and we have been passing the book around to each set of parents.

Joel and Kathy Davisson experienced a troubled marriage for ten years while in the ministry. Their troubles culminated in adultery while pastoring their first church in 1991.
For three years they struggled and then began to learn fresh, life-giving principles of how to have an outrageously happy marriage. God taught them that marriage has been presented 'upside down' in the church for 45 years. The principles that Joel and Kathy started to live in 1994 set their marriage right side up and will do the same thing for yours.
Joel and Kathy lived this successful and new paradigm for ten years before writing their story and sharing the lessons learned.

Another good resource for marriages..........2007-09-01
This book, along with using scripture, can help couples identify and address marital problems and remedy them so that their marriages can be blessed and happy. As each spouse is overflowing with the love of God, then their marriage will be happy and blessed. The church and society at large will benefit as happily married christian couples bring God's kingdom into this world.
Just as God's grace is multifaceted, I believe that solutions in life will be as well. There are many good marriage books. I just read an unflattering book review by the couple that wrote this book (which is how I got here), and I am concerned on a variety of levels. The following statements are from the bible and should be lived out. Christians are to submit to God first and then to one another. Christians are to love other christians and non-christians. Husbands are are to love their wives as Christ loved the church. Wives are told to submit/obey their husbands. The weight of emphasis is what Joel has an issue with. He expresses frustration with the emphasis that if wives would only submit, husbands would love. I agree with him. But God's order and design for marriage should not be dismissed. I need to love my enemies, regardless if they deserve it. Husbands and wives have responsibilities in marriage whether the spouses deserve it or not.
It is astounding to me that Joel would publicly denounce another book on the same subject matter in a book review on Amazon. He never finished reading the book he criticized. He claims that the bible teaching of women having to submit to their husbands is based on one LONELY scripture and is actually the reason that the church's teaching on marriage has been 'upside down' for 45 years. He purports that his book teaches something inspired by God and corrects the generally accepted church marriage paradigm. On this topic, Joel claims to be prophetic.
He also claimed in his review that his greatest need as a man "is for me to learn what it means to lay my life down for my wife and love her as Christ loves the church," not to be respected by his wife. These are not analogous. Actually, one is his responsibility/obligation (dying for his wife and loving her), the other is a reference to a desired response from his wife (respect). The author of "Love and Respect" (the critically reviewed book) makes that distinction. Husbands and wives are responsible to behave as the Bible teaches, regardless of the number of scriptures that support a behavior (for instance - being a living sacrifice). Respect is something I appreciate from others, especially my wife.
Another strong statement in the review is "I do not want my wife to feel like she is supposed to "respect" me simply because I am her husband or because the bible tells her to respect me. Yes, every man would like to feel respect - but does a Christlike man want his wife to respect him just because he is a male whom she is married to? No. A real man wants to live a life that is worthy of respect and wants to be respected because of the life that he lives." He obviously was not worthy of her respect for many years in their marriage. In fact, his behavior while being a pastor was bad enough to disqualify him from ministry. We as christians should be living lives that please God which will engender the responses of respect and love in return. I would like to illustrate this from a wife's perspective, using Joel's quote, "I do not want my husband to feel like he is supposed to "love" me simply because I am his wife or because the bible tells him to love me. Yes, every woman would like to feel love - but does a Christlike woman want her husband to respect her just because she is a female whom he is married to? No. A real woman wants to live a life that is worthy of love and wants to be loved because of the life that she lives"? I would hope so. We should live what the bible says, even if others are not living the way they are supposed to be living. Proverbs 31 exhorts women to be virtuous. Men and women, regardless of being spouses, are called to be holy and loving.
Joel was a pastor when he was guilty of abusing his wife emotionally, physically, and spiritually. He eventually committed adultery. Interestingly, his parents were involved with pastoring as well, and his father had also committed adultery and left the family. It makes one wonder when a family of pastors can behave so badly. Joel, as the egregious offender, he needed to change, and not blame his wife. But what about when a wife commits adultery? Is it the husband's fault? As David proclaimed, I have sinned against the Lord. Good marriage counseling addresses spousal accountabilities, thoughts and behaviors that are inconsistent with them, and strategies to help change the marriage for the better. Rarely is a bad marriage one spouse's fault.
Before Joel's book was written in 2004, many wonderful helpful biblical marriage books were already written. And if he had read those books, he may have avoided or shortened the length of the abuse and adultery that he was guilty of. A book that balances a husband's responsibility in marriage and a wife's responsibility in marriage is called "The Way of Agape" by Nancy Missler, written in 1995. Her marriage was in shambles as well, but she fought to preserve her marriage just like Joel's wife fought to preserve theirs. Another book that was written from the perspective that a husband's behavior alone could turn a marriage around is called "Rekindled, How to Keep the Warmth in Marriage" by Pat Williams, also written in 1995. Both books take different approaches, but the end result was the same - a saved, vibrant, restored marriage.
Hopefully, in the spirit of Christian love and humility, Joel will refrain from writing additional poor book reviews on marital topics, while promoting his own books. The love he promotes in this book for his wife comes from the Holy Spirit. The same source should influence Joel to be less critical of other marriage books.
Great Book.......2007-07-19
As a Christian Counselor I use many books in my work including this one and "The Man of Her Dreams The Woman of His! 2" (the second book by this same author. I also like the new book A Forever Love Story Surviving Trials in Marriage These books are useful in showing how a Christian marriage should be. They are great "instruction manuals" on doing marriage right that goes well with the Bible. I would certainly recommend all of these books to any couple wishing to better their marriage.
Enjoyed the Book.......2007-06-30
This book is very informative and helpful in the age old conflict between husbands and wives. Joel is to be commended for his eye opening stand on issues that have for too long kept women in mental outlooks of defeat, especially when it comes to a troubled marriage. Joel and Kathy have taken a position of determination to help people realize their responsibilties in contributing to the foundation of trusting love and wholesomeness between a couple. For me, this book has been invaluable for supporting and even encouraging regaining hope that was lost and a renewed self image. That, in itself, is healing. I appreciated the emphasis on men recognizing their God-given responsibilty to lay down their own interests in life, as the head of the home, for the good of their wives. I have always believed that good would come back to them in abundance, if they caught hold of that vision. Love and respect is the main theme throughout this book. What better platform can you speak from then what God has already declared to be His design in the first place.
Hats off to Joel and Kathy! And prayerfully, may this type of writing/ministry be a forerunner to many ministries and counselors who seek to help in the marriage arena. Here is "hole" in our society that needs to be addressed and fixed. I would recommend this book to anyone who is married or even thinking about getting married!! Full of common sense.
This information WILL change your life!.......2007-06-13
This book is awesome and powerful. Joel and Kathy are truly amazing and hit the nail right on the head in every area of how to have the marriage of your dreams!!
Made in Heaven!.......2007-06-12
Made in Heaven!
When it comes to communicating how struggling marriages can be healed, God has done a mighty work in authors, Joel and Kathy Davisson. And the good news is they have shared what they learned in not one, but two of the most innovative marriage books around.
Book I, The Man of Her Dreams, The Woman of His, tells how their relationship was restored, using sound biblical principals, after the sins of adultery and abuse had taken a huge toll on their marriage.
In Book II, The Man of Her Dreams The Woman of His 2 - Livin' It and Lovin' It! (Volume 2) Joel and Kathy continue to share the insight God has given them which has produced the "outrageously happy marriage" they now enjoy. Such ideas as the husband as initiator in the relationship--the husband sets the tone of the marriage--he is the leader in that sense. They also champion submission--not as it has traditionally been taught, but MUTUAL submission, wherein the wife submits to the husband AND the husband submits to the wife. As in Book I, men are called to "become the man God is calling you to be by being the husband your wife needs you to be."
In both of their books, Joel and Kathy teach tried and true concepts gleaned from the Bible that they have applied to their own once struggling, now very successful marriage. This is a must-read for anyone who wants to have or help others to have a marriage (literally) made in heaven!

A little less than what I expected........2004-11-26
I've been waiting to get this series for a long time. But when I got it, it wasn't all that I expected. But trust me, it gets better.
We are swept into the lives of the two main characters of the series, Yukino Miyazawa and Souichiro Arima, both do great in school and both are admired by their peers. In the previous book, Souichiro confessed his love to Yukino, so in the first part of this book, Yukino tries confessing her love to Souichiro. It's funny and romantic at how so many times she tries, and you'd be suprised how she finally does. In the next chapter, Yukino and Souichiro try and spend some time together with each other, but they can't because they each have some work to do {ecspecially Souicihro}. Another nice chapter that also contains some laughs. In the next chapter, another popular student at Souichiro and Yukino's school is trying to get in the way of their relationship, boy is he funny. The next chapter is a two-way communication chapter about how Souichiro and Yukino feel about each other. A very cute chapter.
The bonus manga is also cute. It reveals how Souichiro fell in love with Yukino.
This series teaches you some good life lessons. It may not be for everybody, but at least give it a try. It gets better.
Where Do We Go From Here?.......2003-08-02
Yukino and Soichiro have sparred, coming to a mutual understanding of each other. They have both seen the cracks in each others' facade of effortless perfection, but still face a long road ahead on their journey together.
Masami Tsuda has crafted the first volume of a series that could redefine shoujo manga. That said, the sudden jump to another unrelated short tale in volume 1 hints at creative discord that could unravel Kare Kano.
Where do we go from here?
In both cases, the right direction. Kare Kano volume 2 naturally progresses the relationship between Yukino and Soichiro at a pace that allows for real relationships to form. Bringing in the character of Hideaki as their foil is a classic but effective plot development that really adds to the Kare Kano universe.
Tsuba recovers from her temporary creative block and delivers another great volume. Her creativity has settled into a groove, and this edition feels a lot more natural than volume 1. The artwork has also relaxed nicely, and flows smoothly from panel to panel.
If you've read this far, chances are you own the first Kare Kano book. You've experienced the engrossing story, engaging characters and perfect blend of wit and wariness in the dialogue.
Why are you still reading this?
Kare Kano: unique, interesting, and fun.......2003-07-25
Yukino always wanted to be the top student at her school, but then Soiichiro shows up and tops her score without even wanting to be the top student or so she thinks. She has tried too hard too be the best student just to get all of her class mates attention that she is not about to let someone come in and screw it up for her, there is only one problem she didn't expect that wile trying to get him back for besting her in exams she falls in love with him and soon loses the will to be the bast in class.
I love this manga Tsuda is very unique. The manga is drawn in both realistic and chibi form which helps discribe the emotions of the characters very well. In every manga so far there has been one short extra story that is just a quick little story that is fun to read. The last thing that is unique about this manga is the little things that Tsuda puts in her manga that talk a little about what she likes and how she feels when she wrote the manga, this makes the book cute and funny. The bottom line is that the book has a strong story line, realistic characters, a unique style and a couple of extras along the way. If you are a romance book fan I would recomend this book to you, if not you might as well pic up the first on to see what you think because it is still a good book.
Settling into teen romance mode.......2003-03-16
Our heroes think about why they love each other--not a lot of action, more reflection--Arima has to be one of the prettiest boys in manga. Minor conflict as we meet Hideaki, Miyazawa's rival for maybe 10 pages(he wants Arima to help him score a bunch of girls), but then he becomes a regular feature as each lover runs into him, observe the same thing about him, commenting on it in their own way(Arima's usually involves reprimands for not studying) & leaves before the other arrives. The artist's comics of her trials making the book are cute, as are all the chibi versions.

Customer Reviews:
Just like anime, but manga came first!.......2003-05-13
I can't recommend Kare Kano enough! And this third book in the series is awesome! This book introduces Maho, a girl in Yukino's class who doesn't like her and knows she's the vanity queen! What's going to happen?!!(I know, but you have to read to find out, I wouldn't want to spoil it!) The anime is just like the manga, but you should watch that (It's fantastic!) and read the manga b/c the manga came first and it has extra stories!! Have fun!!

Good End to the Manga.......2007-02-13
After having bogged down with Arima-kun's back history concerning his parents and adoptive parents, Tsuda-sensei finally gets back to the good stuff that we love and brings back the main cast and the central supporting characters that we had come to love, but who'd been all but forgotten.
Volume 21 begins with one last tale of Asaba-kun and a girl he befriends in his senior year in high school. Then, the story switches to Arima and Yukino telling their friends and family of her pregnancy, then the gang graduating from high school. The manga ends with a super-chapter that takes place 16-years in the future and shows what has happened with all the characters in the meantime.
Yeah, Tsuda-sensei ends on a high note for sure. I loved bringing back the old gang (even if mostly they were just cameos). Having an aftermath chapter (70+ pages?) taking place 16-years in the future was a nice touch and the perfect way to wrap up the manga. Tsuda-sensei's commentaries and ending omake is a nice touch as well.
Finally, there's TokoyoPop's adaptation of this final volume. For the majority of the series run, they've opted for a more domestic approach that removed the Japanese honorifics. However, this final volume has the honorifics included and that is a welcome thing for this reviewer.
Bottom line: A long manga series, one that got bogged down for a while, but Tsuda-sensei breaks free and ends the manga on a high note.
Wonderfully concluded.......2007-01-20
The last volume of this endearing series does not disappoint like a great song or dish that you savor until the end. The warm fuzzies linger after you finish the book. Soichiro and Yukino tell their friends all about the news of the coming baby. They all discuss their plans for the future and as always the emotions of all the characters highlight the story. The epilogue which takes place 16 years in the future is such a wonderful glimpse in how all the characters have grown. Masami is to be congratulated for this wonderful series.

Book Description
Bestselling author Ana Leigh presents a splendid new novel in her thrilling series featuring the Frasers -- brothers who are rugged, sexy, and as untamed as the Wild West!
California dancehall girl Rory O'Grady dreams of buying a home of her own, but she can't help feeling guilty when her con-artist father steals the map to a gold mine from a handsome stranger. And when Garth Fraser discovers the theft and follows Rory and her father to the mine, he makes it plain that he's not the type of man to give up on anything he wants -- whether it's a windfall or a woman.
The last thing Garth wants to do is team up with the spirited beauty who duped him, but it's the only chance either has to strike gold. Their differences prove no match for the heated desire drawing them together, but neither dares to trust in their passion. Only with a menacing enemy poised to strike will Garth discover how far he's willing to go to protect a love more precious than all the gold in California....

His boots Under Her Bed .......2007-08-13
Garth Fraser steps into the Grotto where Rory O'Grady dances and catches her eye. Instead of leaving town, Garth sticks around and he and Rory find themselves either arguing or kissing whenever they are near each other. When Rory's father steals Garth's gold mine map, the two become foes. When it turns out that the map isn't what Garth thought he keeps his secret, but not for long. During their journey to find gold, Rory and Garth find something much more valuable in each other's arms.
His Boots Under Her Bed is a simple story. There is not a lot of depth to the characters or the storyline. There is however, a lot of arguing then making up between Rory and Garth though. They spent most of the book fighting. It has some tender moments and a few passionate ones as well, but overall I didn't find His Boots Under Her Bed to be an engaging story.

Infuriating hero.......2007-04-27
Since the back cover description is already given on this page, I'll skip straight to my review:
I could not like this book because the hero was SO annoying! The guy had sex on the brain. Seriously, it was all he thought about.
Examples: he sees the heroine working in a bar. (She will serve drinks and dance with men, but refuses to sell herself). He wants to get her into bed. Instead, he sleeps with a prostitute, since the heroine won't. Lovely. Then, when he leaves the bar, he gets accosted by two men trying to have him shanghied. Heroine rescues him, then takes him home to sleep off his drunkeness and injuries. He assumes they're going to have sex. The next day, he walks her home. She invites him in, making it very clear that nothing is going to happen. But again, he assumes they're going to have sex, and gets mad when it doesn't happen.
I don't think the man was capable of looking at a woman without wanting to get her horizontal. A healthy libido is fine. Having a one-track mind (and seeing women as sex objects) is just sleazy, not sexy. I couldn't find one redeeming quality about the hero. And he was so arrogant. He couldn't accept that not every woman is dying to sleep with him. Ugh. Arrogance is not attractive either. I wanted to kick the guy where is counts, I was so frustrated with him.
Third try of Ana Leigh, and it'll probably be my last.
Overall, flat and disappointing.......2007-02-03
This book began as a fun and fast read, but it quickly started to drag and the dialog became so sappy. Toward the end there are so many "that would NEVER happen!!" moments you get bashed over the head with them. Fiction or not, there are plot twists an author should not try, and this book had many.
In the year 1867, Garth strolls into a small western town near San Francisco where he meets Rory (our Heroine), her drunk and very annoying father, and a whole bunch of trouble. Hoodlums run the town, and soon everyone has to leave quickly. Before they leave, Rory's dad snags a map of a gold mine from Garth, but Garth had it memorized so he is able to catch up with them days later. The story primary deals with their day-to-day survival in less than comfy conditions up in the mountain range, including how to tolerate the drunken dad and his endless stupidity. Garth & Rory have the hots for each other, but she is saving herself. She is a flirt and tease (in a fun jest sort of way), and really I did like her as a heroine. They eventually "get it on" and that is when the story really starts to change and takes a dive. It was a light romance with some sensual moments, but overall not a memorable book.
This series gets worse with each book..........2007-01-23
I thought this book was pretty bad. The dialogue was hokey and too modern at times for its historical setting. There wasn't a lot of chemistry between the main characters and the storyline was on the boring side. I loved the first one about Clay but feel each subsequent one has gotten worse. I will not be paying my hard earned money for these books anymore. Very disappointing...
entertaining action-packed western romance .......2007-01-06
In 1867, Garth Fraser, having survived the Civil War and women, arrives in Buckman, California seeking his uncle Henry's lost gold mine. He stops at the Grotto saloon for a drink, but ends up with a hangover and a dance hall girl Rory O'Grady when she rescues him from being shanghaied. Rory insists he owes her even as he wonders why he cannot remember making love to the beautiful female; the prime reason being he did not.
Rory's traveling companion her dad Paddy steals the gold mine map from Garth. He and Rory team up and soon catch up to her father in the town of Hope where they learn no one was been to the mine in years because it is haunted. . As Rory and Garth investigate the mine, they fall in love, but she knows a respectable man like him will leave a disreputable female like her. However before he can prove she is the one, he knows he must keep her safe from dangerous marauding bandits and an unknown enemy who wants them gone dead or alive.
The third Fraser brother western romance (see THE LAWMAN SAID I DO and THE FRASERS: CLAY) is an entertaining action-packed Americana tale that takes off from the moment the tall stranger enters the Grotto and never slows down as Garth gets involved with O'Grady and father in a series of escapades. HIS BOOTS UNDER HER BED is a fine entry in a delightful mini series.

Customer Reviews:
Awesome.......2007-10-02
Sweet, romantic manga with emotional artwork. The story is not unusual (high school romance) but it's beautifully drawn and written. I like how Tsuda varies her drawing style to reflect the characters' emotions and I liked the characters a lot.
Wow.......2007-04-08
I don't even really know where to start about this manga. This is the first manga that I ever bought, and now I have around 190 graphic novels and growing. So this must have been a good manga to have started my obsession. I now own all 21 volumes, and they're all just awesome. This is definitely a great starter manga, it will have you buying more and more. So if you have any doubts, yes, buy this!
students love.......2007-01-28
I am a high school English teacher and have found that my students really enjoy this series. It is a series that they can relate to as well as it being their first encounter with manga. My school board took a big chance letting me teach this to the students, but it has gotten them reading and they enjoy it. Great series, I love it myself and read faithfully!!!
Not Quite.......2006-12-04
Before I give this review, I just want to say, I love the Shojo manga, I love the stories, the conflicts and of course the love stories. Some how though, Kare Kano did not impress me.
I had just finished Hot Gimmick and decided to pick this up because the synopsis had potential, So I sat in the book store and read volume 1. By the time I was finished with the book, I couldn't figure out WHY I would want to read an entire series based on the most annoying character I have ever encountered.
Maybe it's because I can't relate to Yukino Miyazawa, Maybe it's because the art could use some work. Or maybe it's because this is a book for shallow people with nothing better to do than read a manga about a narcissist
Not bad, but not great.......2006-01-01
I first picked up Kare Kano with high hopes for it, as the summary of the first book made it sound like an interesting read. While reading the first volume of Kare Kano, I found it to be a decent book, despite the fact that some areas in the story were a little difficult to follow right away. However, as I began reading the next several volumes, my interest began dying out.
Instead of making the second volume as equally interesting as the first, there was almost no point whatsoever. There was a minor conflict, as mentioned in the summary, but that only lasted for about half of the book--the rest just didn't keep me that interested. A lot of things were dragged out, and many areas became hard to follow--this occurs a lot in the second volume, during several pages where there are speech bubbles all over the place, and things get a bit cluttered and confusing.
I also have to say that some of the art was very lacking in detail. I didn't really like how a lot of the characters' noses seemed to disappear in many of the pictures, and that at some angles, the characters looked totally out of proportion all together.
This story did have its good points, although it didn't keep me interested after volume eight. I'm willing to give this series another try, but its not the most promising one out there.
