I've watched Silvia Brown on TV for years and always found her fascinating to listen to, even if I don't necessarily agree with everything she says. I bought this CD because I want to learn more about angels, and if anyone knows anything about angels, it would be this lady.
I really enjoyed listening to this CD. Silvia is an incredible storyteller with a little levity thrown in. It's a CD one could listen many times and still learn something new. If you have an interest in the paranormal, angels, ghosts, or the afterlife you will probably like this CD. And even if you don't share all of Silvia's views, the stories she tells are very entertaining.

I enjoy Sylvia's work but this CD was a lot of generalized talking without very much meaning behind it. If you took all the important information and put it together it would only take up about 10 minutes on the CD, the rest is blabber.

Anything by Sylvia Browne is going to be "GREAT". I learned so much from this Cd that I've lent it to family members so they can learn as well. It is very interesting to hear what she has to say about Angels, your spirit guides and ghosts, all the things you can't see, but know they're there.

I have this book in my little library of Sylivia Browne books and I have to say that it's the one book I go back to time and time again. I particularly like the section on famous people. If you are interested in ghosts and want to know what they are all about, this is the book for you.

The categories and stories are so interesting, its hard to put it down. Some of the images described were very vivid and scary. It makes one believe in many things that cannot be seen. Trust your instincts.

This was the second book of Sylvia's that I have read. It opened my eyes to things I have wondered about for years. Sylvia is truly a genuine person who holds nothing back and is blunt in every situation.

I have read many books about the After Life and this one attracted me almost immediately because of how the author uses her own knowledge and experience but also that of others. That gives it more credibility in my heart. When reading the book it is very apparent that "Spirit" has aided in the sharing of information put into words here. Anita has a gift, a special love for Spirit, and is true in sharing information for individuals beginning their spiritual track, involved in a recent loss of a loved one, or wanting corroboration of information from another source.

I thought that Afterlifefromabove was refreshing and informative in describing so much about life after death and in the in-between-state. The author is intelligent and explains so that all can understand. I also like that she addresses paranormal events from a perspective of healing. This is a first which makes this author unique.

L. B. Taylor is the ghost guru who resides in Williamsburg, Virginia. I also live in Virginia and I am in this book (page 93). He kindly printed my letter to him about an experience I had at Moore House in Yorktown. Being in one of Mr. Taylor's books is a thrill of a lifetime for any resident of Virginia. His books are extremely informative, professional, fun, and creepy. I have all of his volumes, I believe there are 11 so far. You won't be disappointed with Mr. Taylor's books of ghost lore and legends. I've also met L.B. and he's a very nice man. So support Virginia's ghosts and buy the book. Not recommended for reading alone at night.

THIS BOOK IS HIGHLY INFORMATIVE. IT COVERS ALOT OF HISTORY ALONG WITH THE GREAT STORIES. I PERSONALLY USED IT AS A SORT OF TOUR GUIDE WHILE VISITING WILLIAMSBURG. QUITE A FEW OF THE PLACES WRITTEN ABOUT ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. REALLY FUN WAY TO LEARN ABOUT HISTORY AND GET A FRIGHT AT THE SAME TIME.
Prolific Author Pens a Wonderful Collection of Ghostly Tales.......2002-10-18
No matter where you travel in the US, you can always find books about local and regional ghosts and other stories of the supernatural. I travel extensively, and I make a point of visiting bookstores, just to add such books to my collection. The quality of these books varies, so when I find an author with a flair for telling a good ghost story, I feel as though I've discovered a local gem. I must say that of all such books that I've purchased, Mr. Taylor's collections of Virginia ghost stories have been my favorites.
Luckily for Mr. Taylor (and for me!), Virginia seems to be overrun with ghosts, and so he's had plenty to write about. I believe that, to date, his "Ghosts of Virginia" series is up to volume 8, and none of these volumes are slim by any means; a couple are quite robust. The one thing they have in common is that they are all extremely entertaining and well-written. We should thank Mr. Taylor for his efforts in compiling these stories, as he spends much time, money, and effort in rooting out the wealth of eerie tales and legends of this fabulous state. For my sake, I hope his efforts continue for years to come. So long as they do, I can assure him that I will continue to add his volumes to my bookshelves.
Is Hewick the Most Haunted House in Virginia??????.......2002-06-19
L. B. Taylor himself came out to see my home "Hewick" as he was preparing to write his 2nd book on the "Ghosts of Virginia". He included us in his second volume, and dedicated ten pages asking if "Hewick" is Virginia's "Most Haunted" house? We often have people come by Hewick Plantation and ask if it is really true that we have ghosts here??? This is a fascinating book and I have all of books he has written and look forward to each one as they come out. Maybe one of these days he will make another visit here, and my youngest daughter can relate to him an experience she had during the night when she was eleven years old.....
A fascinating journey through Virginia..........2001-07-19
Recently, I had an aunt pass on from Cancer. Living in New Jersey, I had to travel to my birthplace, Suffolk, Va. several weekends in a row in the final stages and upon her passing. My co-author travelled with me, and we picked up a copy of this book at Shirley Plantation on our way on the first trip down. As I drove, my Co-author, Diana Sinclair, read each story aloud as we drove. I was so engrossed in the tale that I missed several turns along the way. We simply could not stop reading it. The book is well written, concise, complete with locations (We actually visited some of the sites) and informative in historical and geographical detail. An excellant read. In fact, we are going to Williamsburg this weekend, and we have volume two to keep us company....

I think the book is a great idea. I'm very interested in the paranomral and I do investigate private homes and buildings. I like the idea of specific ghost stories in my own locale, though I already know most of them that were written in this book. I rate the book high (aside from spelling and grammar errors) because I love the local stories, and I personally submitted a few pictures for the book after being contacted by the publishing company. It's not a bad book! Very interesting, and the more you read even if you've already read the stories, the more you learn!

Greatly disappointed - do not buy.......2004-07-31
I purchased this book because if you look at the title and flip through the chapters it "seems" to be exactly what you're looking for if you're searching for information on how to communicate with the otherside. Well, after the first couple of chapters you'll realize (or at least I did) this isn't what you were looking for.
I found the book to be horribly repetitive and difficult to read at times because the author communicates with (and then translates) what her "angels" are telling her to say all throughout the book. The majority of her ideas are very difficult to accecpt even for me (and I'm a medium and have a VERY open mind to the views of others). Also the meditation and communication techniques (not given until the VERY end) are very rudimentary.
The author seems to be pitching herself MANY times throughout the book for election as president of the US. She tells how she ran for office in the past (obviously unsuccessfully) and might plan on running again in the future. She also tells about her communications with Abraham Lincoln about her political aspirations, communications with David Letterman's (passed) father, communications with FDR (Roosevelt) when she was writing her Social Security/Medicaid position and many more! She also tells how she passed a computer class final exam by allowing a (technologically intelligent) spirit to enter her concious and take the exam for her (Later when she's talking about protecting yourself she says that only "bad" spirits will give you something in exchange i.e. knowledge, for control over you -- and she says to stay away from this. Also in the list of communicating famous people: Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, JFK and the list goes on.
I wouldn't recommend this book for a beginning medium/psychic because it just doesn't seem to explain things very well (to me) and most of the book is very vague and can give you perceptions of things that are not common acknoledgments by the majority of the psychic/medium community.
Honestly, by the end of the book I was actually doubting the validity of any real psychic/medium abilities the author thought she had. However, I could be wrong... our loved ones that have passed on "might" really be too busy to speak with us; radio, television and print media have hidden encoded subliminal messages and lesser energy put into them; there are these negative entities on Earth called the "reptilians (sorry, reminded me too much of the movie "V"); and also that anyone can communicate with a famous person that has passed (in my view, one can only communicate with a "famous" spirit if you have personal ties with that spirit or are giving a reading for someone who knew them personally. It's just like in the physical world, you can't just pick up the phone and call a celebrity not unless they know who you are).
HOWEVER ~ If you are an EXPERIENCED psychic/medium and are looking for some far out views and have a lot of money AND time on your hands -- go for it -- I'll sell you my copy.

This book has simple, straightforward sections on communicating with the dead.Anyone can perform them.A lot of books such as this make you feel like you have a be a Wiccan High Priestess to even grasp it, but not this one.She also makes sure to tell you how important it is to protect yourself and gives clear instructions for doing so. This book is practical and her methods really work.If you are trying to learn how to communicate with the dead, this book will be helpful to you.
A disappointment.......2002-06-11
I came across this book a couple of times and felt compelled to buy it and check it out. My mistake! The long section on spirit communication, while intended to be straightforward, comes off as simple-minded and, at times, precious. Unfortunately, I was also put off by Dr. Harding's take on spirituality. She has every right to her beliefs, but I have no time for apocalyptic christianity in any form. I don't believe we're living in "the end times," and I don't believe we are punished in the afterlife for misdeeds committed in this one (neither does Dr. Harding -- or so she says, since she contradicts herself several times on this point).
If you're interested in this topic, I'd recommend Robert Monroe's books, or Bob Petersen's.

mostly fiction, If it were true we all should hear more from god, and if we did , this world would be much better. If you cant find out about heaven or christ you are at a very diffrant place than you want to be, burn these kind of books. ask god for his protection because your going to need it.

There are things out there that can not be explained. This book helps you learn to be more aware of it... and interface with other things that are always presant and around us.

The smoke rose around him, mordantly as he tried to understand the words spoken just a moment ago. He can still hear the tone, the beautiful soft tone but the words escaped him. He knew too well this vision as he plunged farther into his dream

Seeing the thoughts of children running in a playground as they laugh at the burning sky.
Hearing the three doves as they fall to the ground in their ashen glory.
Watching the sirens as the farmer looks to the south, just before the storm ravishes his field of glass ivy.

My last year's vacation reading.......2000-04-10
I found this book while on vacation last year on Martha's Vineyard. I found it a thoughtful handling of an interesting subject. It's very inspiring and, since I believe in guardian angels, a good read.
I feel my guardian angel was with me on the way home from my trip. I left the book on top of my suitcase by a chair in a bus station and went over to the snack bar a few feet away. Suddenly something made me look back. A suspicious looking young man with a jacket over his arm (on a hot July afternoon) was seated by my suitcase. I quickly went back to pick up the book and suitcase before he ran off with it. I feel my guardian angel told me to look back at that moment. Have written to the author about that experience.
