"Life" by Lauren Tratar is an excellent book that delves into some astonishing information about the nature of personal reality, negative energy vortex, adamantine particles, and magnetic evidence. This is a very valuable workbook and guide. Firstly the reader explores their present beliefs, and then identifies what is wanted out of life, and finally how to use the law of attraction to manifest what you really want.

Also included are some extremely vlauable tools to guide you back on your path if you've lost your way.

A must read for anyone who is serious about personal self development work.

Purporting to unveil the secret behind The Secret this book is a confused mish-mash New Age philosophy and pop psychology.

On the positive side, this book is physically quite attractive. The binder and section dividers feature lovely photographs and I thought the format was promising. The problem, however is in the contents. The author's style is clumsily self-conscious and she doesn't have an original idea.(In all fairness, there is not much new on the Law of Attraction. The trick is in a fresh presentation.) The book is packed with quotations of other people's works and song lyrics. Apparently, the author once ordered one book and another, a book of inspirational quotations, came instead She found this book wonderfully inspirational and each chapter features not just one or two quotes, but sometimes pages of them. Sorry, if I wanted to read Conversations with God I, II and III, The Nature of Personal Reality or any of the others she relies on, I would not have been reading her book. This over reliance on quotes is disruptive and contributes to the careful, term paperish effect.

This book quickly loses focus, jumping wildly from a clunky law of attraction formula to a recitation of the author's traumatic and abusive childhood and journey through different recovery modalities. While I credit her for addressing these challenges, it reads like a bad episode of Dr. Phil. It is somewhat troubling that she disparages the classic twelve step method as it does not fit within the precepts of her message.

The author refers to her higher self as "Angel". If you subscribe to the traditional definition of angels as being messengers of God, you will find his usage jarring.

If you are interested in the law of Attraction, there are many fine books that present it in an accessible manner. You can't go wrong with the classic Dynamic Laws of Prosperity by Catherine Ponder. The Abraham -Hicks materials provide a contemporary look at the law of attraction as do the Attractor Factor by Joe Vitale and Lynne Grabhorn's Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting. Michale Losier's Law of Attraction workbook is simple but effective while The Sedona Method and Larry Crane's Abundance Course are superb tutorials on releasing. If you opt for this offering you will receive a really neat binder and a headache.

I am not quite done with this book because I am savoring every morsel. This book is what I needed to explain and guide what I have felt for years. I love the writing style of this author because it is easy to understand and her humor is exquisite. I recommend this book highly but to be enjoyable it must be read with an open mind.

I am a Metaphysician and an avid Law of Attraction (LOA) worker. One of my favorite things to do is continuously reveal to myself *evidence* of how Great Things Really Are. Lauren's book is an SPARKLING JEWEL! I totally adore how she has collected quotes & passages from throughout the ages from a huge assortment of Wise Voices and I definitely appreciate her research format of actually citing her sources (so often missing or incomplete in others' works). Her material is accurate, timely, and perfectly applicable - especially so in our current world situation. Read this book and drink from the Well of Wellbeingness. Your soul will thank you, your heart will rejoice, and your mind will have something very tangible to work with. The best part? Interesting, but doesn't match my physical and menthal condition. These excesises break the balance of tension and relaxation in my body, and I become more self-content and less of service to others. Being a Chuck Norris fan his book "The Secret Power Within" was enjoyable and an easy read. Chuck told stories that were touching and poignant. He talked about Zen and Meditation which help him keep his cool in the ring and in life. I saw him win the World Championship in Dallas where in the preliminaries he knocked out ten competitors with no signs of nervousness or fear. Chuck is a true champion in the ring and in life.

THE SECRET POWER WITHIN: ZEN SOLUTIONS TO REAL PROBLEMS by Chuck Norris is Pop Zen, but the book is no less meaningful for that. Norris may not be a Zen scholar; he may not be talking about shikantaza, koans, the Heart Sutra, The Three Pure Precepts, Dogen's fascicles, and all the formalities of active Zen practice (which are as important to maintaining one's focus in the zendo as are learning katas in the dojo), but he does speak with common sense about adopting an overall Zen outlook in one's daily life.

Norris might well be cashing in on Zen in this book, but to the reader it's worth the price, particularly if the reader is not that familiar with Zen. There are too many books that have "Zen" in the title---there are even "Zen Puppy" dog treats---but few of the books that make up the mainstream of the "Zen in the Art of..." and "The Zen of..." genre are as sincere as this book.

Norris, the world famous martial artist and action-adventure actor, really wants us to GET IT---no, not to be "enlightened" perhaps, but to make the spare, simple clarity of the "Zen viewpoint" an active part of our days and to reap whatever benefits this may bring. He makes no promises, but with the ease of experience uses many examples from his own life and from martial arts training and competition to illustrate the advantages of a "Zennish" approach to the challenges that face us.

Some of these stories appear in Joe Hyams' ZEN IN THE MARTIAL ARTS, unsurprisingly, because the two men are friends, they shared these experiences, and, additionally, because Hyams was Norris' sometime text editor.

As an ordained Zen practitioner, I was prepared not to like this book, but I'm glad to say I did. THE SECRET POWER WITHIN is an undramatic and straightforward presentation of streetcorner prajna (translated as Wisdom), which anybody can approach comfortably. It's not THE BLUE CLIFF RECORD, but it doesn't have to be. Even better, it doesn't pretend to be.

I know, a book about Zen Buddisim written by Chuck Norris, strange. All I have to say after reading this is that Chuck Norris is the man. I can't believe i'm saying this but I love this book. There is some serious wisdom in here intermixed with biographical stuff. I feel a little shameful in saying that my introduction to buddisim came mainly from a book by Chuck Norris. I honestly feel better about my life and existance after reading this. I feel more aware about my surroundings and feel a greater calmness in life. Walk with Chuck and you will walk with a greater appreciation for all things, big and small.

Over the years, I have bought and listened to well over 100 tape/cd sets produced by Nightingale Conant. This is one of the very best of the 100!

Although I am big fan of Debbie Ford's "Best Year of Your Life" book, the darkness of her other titles had me bypassing her other books. I came across this CD set and was intrigued with what seemed to be a more upbeat message. Wow, am I glad that somehow I connected (there are no accidents!).

I smiled to myself when, on the audio, Debbie called herself the Queen of Darkness...for that is exactly how I thought of her. Note the past tense. I now see her as the Light of Peace, showing us how we can take dark moments from our past and reframe them to be guiding lights for a better future.

Like Joe Caruso, whom I fortunately discovered the same week and recommend equally highly (his CD set is entitled "The Principles of Authentic Power"), Debbie does a great job of explaining how our story guides so much of our behaviors. Both Debbie and Joe use a presentation style that is like a "fireside chat", as opposed to the "in your face" style preferred by some speakers/authors. Note, if you need fire and brimstone to hear a message, this CD set is not for you. On the other hand, if you have a mind open to change, this CD set can have a profound impact on you.

The above publisher's information summarizes well the content. What I want to add is that what that content has the potential to do for listeners is to speed one's journey to the sense of deep peace that is so important to our health and personal performance.

Away with the Queen of Darkness...Debbie Ford you are a Light of Peace. And, that is a good thing!

Debbie Ford is a unique person in the healing field. Her ideas on the shadow are right on. I recommend all her books.

That being said, I have a huge problem with her over marketing and she seems to think that her model is the only one out there.

She is very much a business person. Although she has a good product, I feel that sometimes she forgets that she is marketing healing and not shoes. At times I question her ethics.

I have had a hard time in the past listening to Debbie Ford because her voice is a little boring, but this time I just pictured her as my girlfriend on Prozac sitting across the table from me and we got along great. After just a few minutes you pick up on her genuineness and feel her emotions as she relates her personal story. She hit upon insights to the past and how the bad things have gone on to create good things in our present self. I nearly fell over with a revelation about me, after one of her meditations. I have since purchased this set for three friends and each one has said the same thing, it is lifechanging.
You can start to collect your fragments and bring them back and love them.

I found this book very insightful. It is written by a woman who lost weight and has kept it off for a number of years. Victoria Moran's view of the other side of weight loss (maintenance) will be something I will revisit when I achieve that goal. This book is uplifting and down to earth.

Read this book and highlight all of the ideas and solutions that you can use and refer back to the book as often as possible. I keep a copy of this book in my car and I read from it daily.

If you have done a lot of self help, and didnt take any action get this book. This man learned from the best in the marketing industry, people who influenced millions to spend billions. He truly understands what is needed to create the drive inside of you to CAUSE action.

I say CAUSE because if you follow the program dilligently, and listen actively, you wont have to MAKE yourself take action. It will just happen as a natural process of your new thinking. Heres an example;

I always wanted to hit the gym. Im a skinny guy, and I know that working out will give me more energy and muscle. After reading the first two chapters, I stopped and did every exercise, answered every question he mentioned. This took me an hour, and at the end of the hour I literally got up and went to the gym.

Im not big on hype, but if you really want to change your life pick this book up. Its filled with ideas that will shift your reality far beyond what you thought was ever possible for you.

I really enjoyed this book. It has some very powerful ideas that the only thing a person needs to make them more successful is to use them. It is so full of information about the inner working of the human's motivation patterns.

Fans of Glasser, Jung and Victor Frankl will appreciate this book. Counselors can find techniques for all types of interventions. Beeler blends a unique mix of spiritual and psychological components to top off the complex matrix of the human hierachy of needs. He supports himself with research and facts. As a person who needs scientific research and facts, I found this book to be progressive and perhaps ground breaking in that it challenges some traditional beliefs about the importance of spirituality in our daily lives.

This is a helpful book for personal and work growth.

This book expounds on the Jewish perspective of God and nullifies misconceptions. It elucidates the mystical concept of a Higher Being and introduces a new concept of Panentheism as an addendum to Monotheism. This books is very useful and a very good, smooth read. It does an excellent job of clarifying the concept of God in Judaism.

In my thirty-five years of practicing as a Professional Psychotherapist/Pastoral Counselor, I have never found a better book to lead one to the center of one's being. The Secret Life of God by renowned Rabbi David Aaron puts to rest all the hyperbole and hype approaches to Kabbalah, from the Hollywood in-crowd to the Los Angeles cultic (albeit popular) so-called Kabbalah practice of the Bergs, who try to sell this mystery as one would try to sell a commodity.



The Secret Life of God by David Aaron addresses the absolutely real drawing near to the center of the life of God. I don't care what religion you may be, even an atheist can relate to this book. I have had many patients come back to me and claim to have found healing using the book as a starting point on their journey, under my direction. They say that for the first time in their lives they now understood why they felt so alone. For me as a therapist this melds the spirituality and psychotherapy paradigms together for the very first time to create an unique approach to mental health.

For the past 13 years on 21st Century Radio we've presented various theories about our planet's history, and the rise and fall of various civilizations and what caused their extinction. Recently I reviewed Gene Kieffer's The Secret Teachings: Unveiling the Luminous Sun Within, Bethel Publishing, 2000 that presents some very different views on the history of our planet especially as it pertains to the origins and importance of mythology. Since it is authored by someone I highly regard and have known over a quarter of a century, I figured this book would help those who are struggling with these questions -- and I was proven right! Beginning with a prophecy in which two angels appear to a U.S. Senator and reveal that something of great importance is about to be discovered, Kieffer goes on to describe Gerald Massey's Book of Beginnings and Secret Teachings, the Eleusinian Mysteries, and the Religion of the Mother to a new view of evolution. Most important is the distinction between the knowledge committed to writing and the knowledge that is handed down by the oral tradition. The difference between the two and the reason for this division of knowledge is the key revealed in this book. As promised on the book jacket, you really do only need to read a few paragraphs of this book a day in order to benefit tremendously.

    This history of espionage is primarily a generalized discussion of spies rather than the more technical side of the business that became the major emphasis of American intelligence during the Cold War with the U.S.S.R. When the problem was to count the number of ICBMs they had, the technical aspects of first the U2 and SR-71 missions and then the satellites were the ideal tools.

    Unfortunately these National Technical Means (NTM), the term used for such intelligence by the politicoes in the various treaties, proved to be pretty useless in view of what happened on 9/11. The United States had deliberately cut back on it's actual spies in the field.

    As this book points out, spies and spying tend to not be nice people doing plesant things. The CIA has a reputation for recruiting at Ivy Leage universities. This is not where you will find dark skinned, un-shaven muslims that would be willing to infiltrate Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and the other places where we need to have coverage.

    I imagine, I hope, that the people running the CIA already know the things found in this book. I also hope that they are working hard to establish a better spying network in the Middle East.
