Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.
Book Description
Boynton rocks! So does Blues Traveler, who perform a stomping version of the title song, a moody rock journey that Boynton wrote especially for them. And then there’s Alison Krauss with “Evermore.” And Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme—really—who do the “Boring Song.” The Spin Doctors, who channel rock’s rebellious side—with a taste of punk—for “Tantrum”:
“No No No, I don’t want to, I don’t want to./No no no, I don’t want to, no no./Leave me alone. Leave me alone./LEAVE ME ALONE.” And the sweetly unexpected pairing of “Weird Al” Yankovic and Kate Winslet (yep, Kate Winslet) as a duet singing “I Need a Nap.”
Full of attitude, full of fun, all lit up with star power, and boasting a variety of Top 40 styles—rock and roll, blues, hip-hop, and power pop—
Dog Train is the third book-and-CD production by Sandra Boynton, following the #1
New York Times bestselling, Grammy-nominated
Philadelphia Chickens and the recently re-released
Rhinoceros Tap. Like
Philadelphia Chickens, features all original songs recorded by a mix of big-name acts and great voices, for the pleasure of the parents as much as the kids. Packaged similarly to the previous Boynton & Ford recordings,
Dog Train is also a full-color book that features a portion of each song’s lyrics set as a little story, accompanied by Boynton’s irresistible hippos, cows, dogs, and more dogs. Full lyrics appear in the back.

not what I expected.......2007-10-13
I was expecting a book/CD for children. The music is too "rock and roll" for my child. She didn't want to listen to songs with words she couldn't distinguish.
Fun and funny.......2007-10-04
In my opinion, it's not quite as good as Boynton's Philadelphia Chickens... but we still love most of the songs in this book.
Dog Train.......2007-09-06
This is a great musical experience. We got it for our one year old son and ended up buying one for all his friends' first birthday presents. The songs are fun and peppy. They are really understood by parents. As a two year old my son now plays drums and dances to his very favorite song "Pots and Pans." I highly recommend this product.
Hip music for tots to hop to.......2007-09-04
We too, were new to Boynton albums. Both of my children were raised on the books, but the album was stumbled upon in a used book sale. It was a huge hit with both my 5 and 9 year olds. I'm so glad that Ms. Boynton has used artists with recognizable styles to do some children's songs. The lyrics are catchy and the songs are grown-up without being boring ('cept the "Boring Song" - Grandma loved THAT!)
Spin Doctors, Five for Fighting, and Weird Al are some of my favorite artists, anyway!
It's family fun for all.
Love It!.......2007-08-28
The music on this cd is great for both parents and kids! Great lyrics. Both my 3 year old and 1 year old sway to the music. My 3 year old picks the book for bedtime and we have to sing the songs to him. A hit in our house!
Customer Reviews:
Crazed Coyote.......2007-10-18
This book is completely over the top. Coming from a girl with nieces in Arizona-this is a great, fun desert read. This book takes the story of a woman who swallowed a fly to another level. The art work is incredible. The story and the expression on the coyote's face becomes more and more outrageous as it details everything on the menu. Awesome book for story time with your kids. Very fun with great art.
A SPICY NEW TAKE ON AN OLD FAVORITE.......2007-05-06
Often a new take on a beloved favorite is doubly appealing due to the familiarity of the piece and the originality of its latest incarnation. Such is the case with There Was A Coyote Who Swallowed A Flea as it is given a spicy Southwestern flavor.
Youngsters will love the sing-song rhyme and giggle at the ridiculous coyote who considered everything to be dinner. First of all, he ingested a flea which he found on his knee. That's probable. But the hilarity increases when he swallows a lizard that "slithered right down to his gizzard" to catch the flea. Then, what catches a lizard? A snake, of course. Poor, poor coyote, it seems he can't win for losing.
What he finally swallows is surprise that will leave youngsters laughing out loud at such silly shenanigans.
Steve Gray's bold, comical illustrations are perfect companions for this laugh provoking tale.
- Gail Cooke
Will become a favorite.......2007-03-09
Jennifer Ward is the author of The Seed and the Giant Saguaro, which received the Young Readers' Award honor book for the First Grade Book for the state of Arizona. It was selected by Arizona's Governor. Ward resides in Tucson and her environment lends itself to the children's books she writes.
There Was a Coyote Who Swallowed a Flea is the retelling of an old rhyme. Coyote swallows most everything in sight in this children's story. He starts with a flea and works his way through a lizard, snake, bird, chile, cactus, a ten gallon hat, a boot, a bull (oh my!), and finally the moon. And then... Well, that's a surprise!
There Was a Coyote Who Swallowed a Flea is a raucous tail of a Coyote and his antics. It's a delightful story that will result in belly laughs. The illustrations are large, bold and silly. No, that's not enough. They're just plain zany. And that's a good thing.
Armchair Interviews says: This book will be a favorite of children and the adults will love it also.
A whimsical children's picturebook offering an outrageous take on a common children's nursery rhyme.......2007-02-04
Award-winning author Jennifer Ward presents There was a Coyote Who Swallowed a Flea, a whimsical children's picturebook offering an outrageous take on a common children's nursery rhyme. Following the exploits of a hungry coyote who sets out to gulp down everything in sight - and the perplexed appetizers socializing in his tummy - There was a Coyote Who Swallowed a Flea blends the vibrant, cartoony art of Steve Gray and singsong rhythm to create a rollicking funny tale. "He swallowed the cactus to go with the chile. / He swallowed the chile to season the bird. / He swallowed the bird to catch the snake. / He swallowed the snake to catch the lizard. / He swallowed the lizard to catch the flea, / Plucked from his knee, that tickly flea. / Yippe-o-ki-yee?"
Book Description
Black Dog Songs is Lisa Jarnot's third volume of poetry. Decidedly lyrical, these poems move through pastures and politics to the quick of thought. What emerges is a catalog of loves and laments: 'Just the eldergrass and him, the fog, unpoliced and safe inside the train, the thoughts of rain, Apollo, and the sun . . .'
Customer Reviews:
the sounds made by comprehensible words.......2006-04-02
The fake [?] political poems and fake [?] pastoral poems that constitute this book seem to qualify as what Richard Kostelanetz would call "text-sound" pieces: works "where the sounds made by comprehensible words create their own coherence apart from denotative meanings." Most of these poems ultimately seem to "cohere" more as lovely clattering vocable contraptions than as sense-making devices, but this could be a ruse... Delightful.
mistaking cleverness for poetry.......2005-12-29
reading Lisa jarnot is like staring at tinfoil. lately what we let pass as poetry in america are small ironic and clever lyrics that hold little more substance than a witty e-mail. william stafford once said that reading modern poems was like eating grapes. well, reading jarnot and the hipster group she seems to belong to is like eating skittles. ok, i'm off to brush my teeth now.
good luck.
Fan Club?.......2005-09-18
Pretty much of anything Lisa Jarnot writes, I like. Her poetry is alive and sinewy and hits me in a very particular way. It takes me to a place I don't get to go very often. Please have a look and tell me if she doesn't do something like that for you too. My favorite poet? What a big category! I'm not sure I belong in that thicket. But she's great.

Customer Reviews:
Sweet and sentimental.......2007-08-29
Born and raised in New York, this song always pulled on my heartstrings. Since Billy Joel, a master story teller, has put this famous song into print for kids, it has even more special meaning. The illustrations are fantastic, from the details of the lights of Times Square to the majesty of the Empire State Builiding, there is barely a corner of the city that is not captured in a colorful, realistic fashion. The pages are fun to look at (the Broadway theatres boast variations of the actual shows) and any native will appreciate the subtle story each page tells. This is great book to introduce a child to New York City, and a special keepsake for grown ups, whether residents or visitors here.
New York State of Mind.......2007-01-19
I was a little disappointed at first in the book only because I thought there would be more of a story of someone in New York City with the song as a basis. Error on my part since the book was the "song". However, my niece age 5 whom the book was for was delighted and loved it. Each picture I read and described to her (I must admit she did a couple of twirls to the CD playing) was enjoying it and found all the pictures very descripitive with the song. As a New Yorker myself I was able to explain it with a little story of her "Aunt Re Re" in the Big Apple who has over the years been to all those illustrated sites.
A contemporary music classic is now a picture book.......2006-06-08
"New York State of Mind" has always been one of Billy Joel's most passionately-performed pieces. When witnessed live and in person, the song is a glowing tribute to all East Coasters and specifically to New Yorkers, from one of their own. But even the recording on the Turnstiles album is powerful. It pays homage to the concept of "home."
Joel's lyrics transfer nicely onto the pages of this picture book. The main characters, two small dogs, may remind some folks of the pair from "The Lady and the Tramp," another city story. Izak's illustrations portray the metropolis in fall or early winter, with leaves on the ground and ice skaters at Wollman Rink. Each double-page spread visits a specific location in the city, and each are identified by name. Look closely to find the irony in the signage. Theater-goers are standing in line to see "Movin' Out!" on Broadway. And the ice rink banner reads TROMP instead of TRUMP. Play the accompanying CD (containing the Turnstiles version of the song) while reading the captions, and you'll hear the soulful strains of the saxophone just as a sax player appears on the page. A captivating new book for children and adult fans of NYC and/or Billy Joel, particularly poignant in these post-9/11 days.
Soulful Billy Joel & New York.......2006-02-25
If you like Billy Joel, you will like this book/CD. I am a big fan of Billy Joel's and have always wanted to visit New York. The book provides some great scenes of New York with labeling of all the featured sites. Makes me want to visit New York even more. It's a little goofy that a little dog is featured on all the pages, but small enough that you can ignore it and silly enough that you can enjoy it. It is a book that my two toddler children and I enjoy every day. They love the colorful pictures, and I love Billy Joel's bluesy, soulful music.
A fun and simple appreciation for the city's many offerings.......2006-02-13
A cd single of the song accompanies musician Billy Joe's book of the same name New York State Of Mind, which receives illustration by Izak and imparts a passion for New York, from the Empire state Building to Central Park. From movie stars to newspapers and ice skating, New York State Of Mind imparts a fun and simple appreciation for the city's many offerings.

It made me cry the first few times!.......2007-09-25
I love this book and my daughter does too. We have a lot of Iza Trapani books and I'm on Amazon to buy another. This is the hardest one for me to sing in places but the story is so sweet and it teaches kids about doing nice things for others. The first few times I read it, it really did bring tears to my eyes. I get tired of reading a few of the Trapani books after enough days in a row but I may never get tired of this one.
great book.......2007-09-05
iza trapani is the best. she's got wonderful imagination. every page is beautifully painted to take little minds and hearts out of this world. my son loves and remembers all her rhyme books since he was 3.
It has became our standard gift.......2007-03-09
We (my husband, my sons and myself) love this book a lot, the story is great (see the other review) and our sons love it when we sing it out. It has became our standard gift for babyshower and small kids' birthday parties, whenever we can.
We felt that this book deserve more "promotions" -- too few people heard of it. Too few bookstores have it in stock -- I could not buy as a gift if I forgot to order it ahead of time. This book deserve to be in every kid's bookshelves. This is the first time I ever write a review because 3 reviews are just too few. I am sure more would give it 5 stars if only they get access to this book.
"Give to the world the best that you have..........2003-11-26
and the best will come back to you." (Unknown)
A cute little boy wants a doggie but doesn't have enough money. He has saved some money but it isn't enough. (Oh! I wish there were more books on saving money! Kids need them.) The pet store owner shows him other pets he can afford but the boy's mind is made up. He goes home and has a lemonade stand but it rains and he catches cold and can't do anything to make money to buy that doggie in the window. In the meantime, his sister, mom and dad each have a need that he can fill with some of his money and he gladly does so without hesitation. At the end of the week, he counts the money in his piggy bank and realizes he can't afford the doggie. He accepts this (another great lesson for kids to learn--to accept when they can't have something) and goes to visit the doggie just to say, "Hello." How sweet.
Good things happen to that little boy, I think, for the rest of his life with such a kind, giving heart. Thanks, Iza for a very special story with lots of takeaway value.
Soar!
Very intruging book for my 16 mo. old.......2002-06-15
We checked this book out from our Library and my 16 mo. old daughter loves it so much. Since we could only renew this book twice I had to buy our own copy. She loves to point out the fact that the dog is juggling in one picture. And she is so sad when the little boy discovers that the doggie is gone ("Some people stopped by and bought that dog for there very special young son. They wanted to thank him for all the nice things he had done.") but is elated when we turn the page and discover that the doggie is now his ("Oh what a surprise I never figured that lucking young boy would be me!")

Cute!.......2007-05-15
It's a pretty cute little book that you can sing along to. My daughter loves books that we sing to so I found this series accidentally and bought a bunch of them. I think The Itsy Bitsy Spider is her favorite but this one is cute too.
It's wonderful!.......1999-04-24
Using something the kids are familiar with builds their confidence as emeging readers. It's a great idea to use something like BINGO that we all sing with our kids!

A charming new twist on a classic lullaby
It’s time for one little puppy to go to sleep. He and his boy have had a busy day full of running, splashing, leaping, and chasing, but it’s hard for this little puppy to settle down.
To the tune of the classic lullaby, the soothing rhythm of this bedtime story will calm any young creature feeling reluctant to say good-night to the day.

Beware!.......2007-08-02
Although this is a lovely, attractive book, the melodies of the nursery rhymes are not the traditional ones most of us grew up singing. They are newly invented tunes to the old, familiar words.
Have hours of fun singing these songs.......1999-01-27
This is a lovely collection of the most popular nursery rhymes presented in singable format. You'll love the rich, bright illustrations which bring the words to life. Even if you're not a singing family, it's worth buying this book as a nice way to read the rhymes.
It's not easy to find non-commercialized songbooks, and this is one of the finest I've found. Most of the melodies have two lines, so even pre-schoolers can learn and sing them easily. Enjoy!

Great Music and Book!.......2007-04-18
My 6 yr old and 4 yr old girls LOVE this CD/book combination. The music is fun, the book is colorful. As an adult, this is the best kids music I've heard. Often times I find myself singing the songs without the kids around.
