Book Description
Most Christians struggle with their commitment to prayer and wrestle with a proper prayer attitudeand posture. Pastor Frederick K. C. Price guarantees that if readers follow his biblically and experientially based method, they will have the assurance that God hears their prayers and answers them. This veteran pastor debunks the teaching on prayer that says, "Sometimes God says Yes, sometimes He says No, and sometimes He says Wait." Too often Christians simply pray the wrong prayer and expect god to cover for them. Price teaches how God responds to faith and faith alone, and why it is critical for us to understand how to pray in faith and not in doubt, ignorance, or presumption. Answered PrayerGuaranteed! Offers a revolutionary approach to prayer. As a leader in the Word of Faith movement, Price has a strong message for Christians who want to experience the blessings of answered prayer.

One of the Best book on prayer.......2007-10-05
This is one of the best books on prayer I have ever read.
I recommend this book to any christian who want to see results when they pray.
Fred knows how to reach God.......2007-06-27
The book is excellent. Dr. Price writes in a very down to earth manner where you could not possibly misunderstand what he is trying to convey. I have really learned a lot from the book on how to properly pray and have sent the book to several other people to help them. I plan to even teach a bible study from the book. Yes, if you are not getting your prayers answered, this book IS THE ANSWER.
Answered Prayer Guaranteed.......2007-02-14
I absolutely loved this book. Dr. Price has taught me so much about prayer. I did not know you could pray the wrong prayer. In my whole life, I never heard a pastor from any church make that statement. I pray all Christians will get this book and learn how to pray. If Christians prayed like we are supposed to pray I think we could change the world. Thank God for this book.
Well-writen and based in Scripture.......2007-02-05
If you've seen Frederick K.C. Price on television, you know he's not shy about expressing his thoughts. What sets him apart from many of his contemporaries is that he does not resort to theatrics and jumping around and yelling. If he wants a particular thought to really sink in, he'll speak...very...slowly and make an extra effort to clearly enunciate every word so that it's understood. On TV he often repeats "We walk by faith, not by sight," and you know you're reading one of his books when you get to page 12 and the statement "At the moment you pray, believe that you receive what you have requested. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Your faith is substance - it is something real, something tangible. It is evidence of things you cannot see." It's a dynamic book grounded in Scripture, not one of the many that "teaches" you how to "bargain" with God to get what you want. If anyone wants to know what lies at the heart of this book, it's very simple: Pray as the Bible instructs (and ample Scripture is offered here) and believe your prayers are being heard WHILE you pray. And remember, as Price points out on page 111, "Pray according to the Word of God." God has no obligation or interest in answering prayers that are based in selfish or destructive motives. Act as if you are asking God for what you need directly...because, in fact you are.
So Easy to Understand.......2007-01-12
Dr. Frederick K.C. Price breaks prayer down in an easy to understand formula that will ultimately get you the answers you need to succeed in every area of your life. Whether it be for your health, a new job, your family or the leaders of this world, you will understand how to pray and what rules to follow to get those prayers answered! As usual Dr. Price writes as he speaks, in language anyone from 8 to 80 can understand.

This Book Might Answer Your Prayer........2007-04-07
When I ordered this book I thought it was a catalog of "I prayed for this and was answered like that," but it is not. It is written as if God is talking to you, the reader, and expressing His thoughts, concerns, feelings, and love about you, and describing Himself in the process. If you were raised in the kind of church that depicted God as an angry, impossible, pyromaniac, this book just might heal those corrupt files in your heart, head and soul. It is exquisitely beautiful. Give it a try.
Perfect gift.......2006-06-12
This book is simple, yet meaningful and worthy of contemplation or meditation. I have given this book as a gift to about 20 people and every person has called me to tell me how much they love the book and the thoughtfulness to give something that is a little different than flowers or chocolate to someone going through another phase in their life.
There is also something I think about when I hit a spiritual roadblock.
An extrordinary book, and from a skeptical one at that..........2006-04-15
This is an incredible book. I don't buy the whole "religion" thing myself, but do try to connect with something bigger on a semi-frequent basis. There's no mention of any particular denomination, faith, or creed, just God, or Higher Power, or Great Spirit, talking in ways you wish would explain stuff. It's very loving, and understanding, and patient, and comforting. I'm still wary of anything smacking of dogma or moralism, but this was anything but. Perfect for stuck people, depressed people, and people who claim not to need the big "G", but still want some reassurance alone at night. Some of the "shepherd" refrences could have been dropped, though.
Every chapter is a prayer.......2005-11-26
This book was one of the top selling religious books in 2004.
Why is it called "Answered Prayer"? Let us say that you are dealing with any of a number of personal challenges, and in the middle of them, you are hoping to hear some word from the Lord. Perhaps you are worried about diminished income, or you are wondering if you are a loveable person. You may have concerns about life being dull and humorless. You are weary. You are afraid to reach out to someone in friendship. You are afraid to take the risk of trusting another. Cameron addresses these and many more concerns, in her book.
The book is like a journal of prayer, but most prayer journals record the voice of the one who prays. Not this book. Instead of prayers that are addressed to God, these prayers are presented as responses to the one who prays, in other words, as if one is hearing back, from God. It sounds like this: "I am the peace that passes understanding." Or, "Open the door just a foothold. I can work with you as you are. You are not the first disillusioned one I have encountered." (Page 149).
Every chapter is a prayer. Every prayer is deeply steeped in Scripture. You will find these prayers to be in accord with God's many promises we find there. These "love letters from the Divine" allow us to hear what God longs to say to us, when we find ourselves in deep and troubled waters.
Disappointed.......2005-08-24
Having read and been inspired by Cameron's "Heart Steps" and "Transitions",
I was looking forward to owning this book. The previous books are
uplifting and a breath of fresh air. Every page of "Answered Prayers" starts out
with punitive language and directly hooks the pain and shame.
Sure that is part of life, but there is nothing that invites me to read further.
As a "Love Letter" it is disappointing.
Get Julia Cameron's "Heart Steps" instead, Divine love shines through her words.

Unanswered Anticipation.......2007-05-22
I am usually an enraptured fan of Capote's work. Unfortunately, I have to agree with most of his critics and former friends on this one. He plays around with a work that can be either a confessional or a gossip column or an introspection of fringe society. I was disappointed that his beautiful and haunting words were affected by his alcoholic and drug-induced ramblings. His talent for invoking tragic images without being crass was lost here.
Unanswered gems.......2007-04-11
Although "Answered Prayers" can be read as dated since most of it's "characters" live in the 1960's and 1970's, there is still marvelous prose and stories that pique the interest. Capote had promised to complete several short stories for this tome, but this collection contains only three. All of them are marvels to read, but the last, "La Cote Basque", is a stinging expose of the New York Socialite clique. Not only does Capote mention real celebrities, but he also exposes the deepest and darkest secrets of high society with a thin veil. It's no wonder he was ostracized from this egregious group. Some of the events he describes are beyond scandalous, yet witty and viciously funny. He somehow manages to bring the `so-called' social deviants to the same level as the most respected socialites, making it clear that money is the only difference.
The Editor's Note is the most intriguing part of the book, as it describes how Capote managed to promise to produce these stories for years without delivering and obtained millions from the publishers, enabling him to live with a high level of social activity. He was a celebrity as well as an author and a clever, if not conniving man. The biggest tragedy is that so many stories will never be read due to his early alcoholic induced death. Still, these three stories are inspired gems.
answered prayers.......2006-05-26
Oh My GOD! This is by far one of the most disturbing, amazingly tragic books that I have ever read. Buy this book and feel the pain and suffering that only Truman Capote can emote in the written word. Damn him for not finishing it, and pity us for being denied the finished work.
ACID CAPOTE.......2006-04-10
To read this odd book is to get a real look at Truman Capote at the end of his life. Capote was vain, bitchy, narcissistic, but alas the profoundly weird old queen was fascinating. He was truely unique, he made himself a superstar, he willed it so, this man was nakedly ambitious, he makes Trump look like a piker. This book ruined him and probably led to increased alcoholism, that ultimatly caused his death at sixty. When he wrote an excert of this book in a top magazine of the day, he became persona non grata among the brahman class of New York. This was Capote's own personal hell. It shows his arrogance and narcissism that he did not see that a book like this would make these people close ranks and ostracize him, he was stunned that they stopped taking his calls and dropped him from their party lists, they broke his heart and frankly I'm sure the parties were considerable less amusing with Truman gone. In this book you see in Capote a really unhappy man, that relished in the misfortune of others, but having said that I do find his dish very interesting, what does that say about me, lol. I believe that after he became a sensation after the great In Cold Blood, he really was paralized, he knew people expected another book of singular greatness, I think this absolutely destroyed him and he was so desperate that he conceived this ill advised book, it makes you understand why Harper Lee and J.D. Salinger never published a book after their masterpieces, Truman should have looked to his childhood friend Lee as an example, but he could not resist the spotlight and he wanted that feeling of adulation again. I recommend this book, it is not Capote's best work, of course, but it is something of a memoir and you get an unflinching look at this complex man.
Capricious Capote.......2006-02-08
Capote's unfinished work is definitely worth reading but read his other stuff first. It takes a seasoned Capote fanatic to really enjoy this book. It is a shame that he never finished it. After reading "Kate McCloud" I could not wait to find out what would happen next, but I guess no one will ever know. And we all want to read La Cote Basque 1965 to get the real dirt.
But the truth is that Capote was indeed a gifted writer who left us very little to read. So take it all in, even these "tell all" stories that have less significance than his earlier work.
Book Description
Beloved best-selling author Joan Wester Anderson breaks new ground in her latest collection of moving accounts of miracles, healings, and angelic visitations. These stories carry a profoundly important message: God answers prayer. "There's real power in prayer," Anderson writes. "We're not exactly sure how it works, but we can trust that God's intense love for us will carry us through."
Anderson has collected astonishing first-hand accounts of the power of prayer: a dying infant inexplicably recovers after an encounter with a mysterious visitor; a long-lost son suddenly returns home for Christmas; a young man drowning in an icy river unaccountably finds himself on shore; a grieving widow, alone and far from home, receives comfort and counsel from angels in disguise. These stories and dozens of others show ordinary people taking their needs to God. All of them received what they needed from a loving God who responded to their deepest needs.
Writing with her signature charm and warmth, Joan Wester Anderson recounts stories that will deepen her readers' spiritual lives. They demonstrate, with convincing simplicity, that prayer is the key to a relationship with a loving God.

this is a feel good book , easy to read and very interresting , i believe in angels, joan wester anderson is good at what she does , her stories are wonderful
Uplifting and Inspirational.......2007-01-30
I had read "Where Wonders Prevail" by Joan Wester Anderson a couple of years ago and loved it. So, I was very excited to see this new book by Anderson, "Guardian Angels: True Stories of Answered Prayers" at the library. I wasn't disappointed. "Guardian Angels" shares the same format, offering examples of divine intervention in people's lives - mysterious Good Samaritans who appear out of nowhere in a person's hour of need or extraordinary circumstances that simply cannot be explained in human terms.
If you don't believe in angels, you should read this book. It will convince you that there are other beings who walk through life with us and help guide our way. If you already believe in angels, "Guardian Angels" will only serve to reinforce that belief. It is filled with wonderful, touching stories, quite a few of which made me tear up. It is such a reinforcement of the good in the world. We all need that now and then.
Guardian Angels: True Stories of Answererd Prayers.......2007-01-14
I love to read the short, true stories of other persons' positive experiences when they ask God to help them with their challenges in life. I read one story a night before going to bed, and end the day on a positive note. At about $10 a book with free shipping from Amazon, they made super gifts for my friends at Christmas.
Guardian Angels .......2007-01-05
This was a very nice book. The stories were heartwarming and sincere. I really enjoyed it.

A must read book on prayer that would change the way you pray.......2006-03-18
This book would be the most helpful and practical book on prayer that I have read in a very long while. Cooke writes from experience, and takes us back to prayer as it was in the Bible. We often pray or go to prayer meetings bombarding heaven with requests, but seldom do we still ourselves to listen to God before we pray. Crafted prayers is not praying for an answer, but is praying with an answer (pg. 70). Hence, the subtitle is "The Joy of Always Getting Your Prayers Answered."
Together in this book are 6 appendixes which helps you in your prayer life. Appendix 1 is on "Steps to Crafted Prayer" where it talks about general preparation for the person entering into a time of prayer, and guidelines and steps for individuals and groups. Appendix 1 alone is worth the price of the book, helping any person or group deepen their prayer life. Appendix 2 & 3 are worksheets for groups and individuals. Appendix 4 is a "Stillness exercise" to help us be still before God so that we can learn to tune out all the stuff that goes on in our heads, and tune into God. "Stillness is... about stilling those voices in our heads." (pg. 20) Appendix 5 are "Inheritance Words" that we are to look out for, and appendix 6 shows some crafted prayers in the Bible.
Below are some other great statements that Cooke makes in this book:
- Real warfare in the Kingdom of God is always concerned with the battle for intimacy (pg. 11).
- Gratitude is the bedrock of our life and worship (pg. 19).
- Rest is our best weapon against the enemy, because rest allows us to hide in our secret place in God (pg. 22).
- Prayer, in its simplest form, is finding out what God wants to do and then asking Him to do it (pg. 25).
A Journey.......2005-10-26
Crafted prayer by Graham Cooke is part of the author's Being With God series. This book uses a journal type format, specificly in the appendices, exercises, worksheets and meditations. The reader is encouraged to work through the book and chart a progression in a journey of waiting on and being with God, intimately.
In this biblical genre, the author's intent is to teach the reader how to make serious prayer a significant part of their life. Though Crafter Prayer may be new to some readers, it really is a book about ancient biblical principles applied by many of God's faithful servants, resulting in miracles of biblical proportions (Moses and the 10 plagues of Egypt in Exod 7-12 and the parting of the Red Sea in Exodus 14:21-31).
Personally, I found the beginning text enlighting but the appendices slightly confining.
The mobile world of the 21st century demands all of our time, talent and energy. But by putting in the effort of stillness and crafted prayer to know God, readers will come to a joy of always getting prayers answered.

This book changed my life!.......2005-05-19
This book was giving to me during the time of my life when i was walking "through the valley of shadow of death". It has changed my life dramatically, and i wish i could shout from the mountains about the message in this book, and about God's great love and endless mercy for us. No matter what you are going through - trust in God, PRAY WITH FAITH - He will deliver!

Excellent Prayer Inspiration.......2003-05-22
As a growing, maturing Christian, sometimes it is easy to believe you know all about a subject like prayer. However, this book truly takes the prayer journey a step further, for example, praying over which dress to wear and how that could even be important to God. The power to touch and change so many lives with prayer is very powerful and demonstrated on every page. Betty's writing is so good, I would describe it as an engrossing novel that is hard to put down. The overwhelming feeling of "I can do this too" is what I came away with.

Book Description
Danielle Steel’s 56th bestselling novel is about family and friendship, about one woman’s struggle to break free from the past—and the man who helps her triumph. And most of all, it is about daring to believe in...Answered Prayers.
On the outside, Faith Madison is the very picture of a sophisticated New Yorker. Slim, blond, stylish, Faith has a life many would envy. Overcoming a childhood marked by tragedy, married to a successful investment banker and having raised two grown daughters, Faith has enjoyed her role as mother and wife, and the good life that emanates from their bustling Manhattan town house. But every step of the way, Faith has carried within her a secret she could divulge to no one. And with it, she has kept an even more painful secret from herself.
For Faith, it is the sudden death of her stepfather—a man who, like her husband, Alex, always remained just beyond her reach—that will touch off a journey of change and revelation. At the funeral, painful memories flood back—and an old friend reenters Faith’s life. Faith is greeting mourners, when she hears a voice behind her and a single word that brings a quick smile to her face: “Fred.” Only one person aside from her older brother, Jack, called her that. Brad Patterson was Jack’s best friend, a long, lanky boy who teased, tormented, and protected Faith when they fancied themselves “The Three Musketeers” as kids. When Jack died years later, Faith and Brad came together again in their common, inconsolable grief, then lost touch once more amid the demands of families and busy lives a continent apart.
Now a lawyer in California, Brad has reentered Faith’s life just as she is making a decision that plunges her marriage into crisis. Determined to fulfill a long-held desire for a career of her own, Faith applies to law school against her husband’s wishes, igniting a barrage of anger and recrimination. Faith’s only solace is the correspondence she has begun with Brad, a man trapped in an empty marriage of his own, a friend she once lost and has found again. Soon e-mails are flying between them, bridging three thousand miles, sharing much-needed friendship, support, laughter. And as these two childhood friends rediscover each other, something extraordinary is beginning to happen. In the safety of their friendship, Brad will find the courage to make a decision he should have made years before. And Faith, too, is changing, beginning to believe in herself—and in her right to grab hold of her dreams. Gathering a strength she never knew she had, Faith is finally ready to face the most painful step of all: of sharing the secret that has long been haunting her, and truly opening up her heart for the first time in her life.
With unerring insight into the hearts of husbands and wives, lovers and families, Danielle Steel tells a wise and moving story of the secrets that wound and the choices that heal—and of the second chances that come only once in a lifetime.
From the Hardcover edition.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS BOOK.......2007-08-17
If Danielle Steel didn't already have 60+ novels to her credit, this is yet another book that would have never been published. It is written in her outline-like style without any real feeling. While the story itself is good, it really got old that the reader had to wait so long for Faith and Brad to get together.
Unanswered Prayers.......2006-06-22
Having never read a book by Danielle Steel but seen and liked a few of the movies adapted from her novels, I was looking forward to reading Answered Prayers, since I usually always find the books more deep and interesting. Sadly, I couldn't have been more disappointed... The first thing that bothered me about this novel, was the amount of repetition it has. I was just through the first few pages of the first chapter, and I was already being told things (usually insignificant) which I had just read a few lines before.
Secondly, the moment Brad is introduced into the plot, I could foresee with certainty, how it was going to unravel and how the book would eventually end. So as not to dampen my enthusiasm and continue reading, I reasoned that if the plot was going to be so predictable, the book couldn't possibly be Danielle Steel's "Number One Bestseller" as the cover proclaims...seems like I have a grave misconception regarding the criteria needed to make a book a "bestseller".
The major flaw of this novel is that it desperately lacks imagination. Even the main characters themselves and their situations are mirror images of each other. Faith is sweet and caring, has two daughters who have grown up and left to live on their own, leaving her feeling lonely and sad. Her husband is cold, unreligious and gives her no attention.
Brad is sweet and caring, has two sons who have grown up and left to live on their own, leaving him feeling lonely and sad. His wife is cold, unreligious and gives him no attention. Even Faith's "deep dark secret" is too unoriginal, and it is revealed to the reader at the very early stages of the book, leaving no room for curiosity and suspense.
Halfway through the book, I was so bored that I considered giving up reading it altogether. However I kept pushing on, praying that some twist to the plot would miraculously materialize somewhere, to at least make reading Answered Prayers worthwhile... Unlike Faith however, my prayers remained unanswered... It's going to require a lot of will power to attempt reading a Danielle Steel novel again...
Too Drawn Out.......2006-03-03
Normally I don't take the time to write a review, but this book just bugged me. When I finished I felt like I had run a marathon. The book was just too drawn out and I felt the descriptions were long winded. Faith was a little too unbelieveable even though she was abused and had little self esteem. The plot was good, but moved slowly. I am typically not drawn to Danielle Steel books and probably with good reason that I never seem to like them very much. I am glad that this book was in a box of 30+ books that I paid $15 for at a used book store. I would have felt like I wasted my money had I actually paid full price for it.
Wonderful Story.......2006-02-28
Faith is a beautiful older woman that puts up with her husband's coldness in their marriage just because she doesn't realize what he's doing to her. She has two daughter's Ellie and Zoe whom mean the world to her. It's not until she decides to go back to law school that her husband begins to treat her worst by the minute. Both of her daughters are no longer at home and it's not until she meets up with a childhood friend Brad that she begins to see what she could have. Coming back from a trip a day early she finds out that her husband has been unfaithful to her and she finds hope for her future in the childhood friend named Brad whom happens to be married. Faith and Brad get closer as time goes by and the rest is a fairytale come true. In my opinion this book was one of D.S.'s best.
A Waste of Time..........2004-11-18
Read the first few chapters and the last few pages. As usual, the remaining 300 pages were just repetition. Danielle Steele should come up with a new "formula" (as mentioned in previous reviews) or tuck her pen away once and for all.
