Book Description
THE SISTER HAD IT ALL–UNTIL KARMA CAME TO TOWN.
A successful businesswoman, Catherine Hawkins has lived an enviable life of luxury, thanks to an ambition that has made her stop at nothing–including abandoning her own twin daughters when they were born eighteen years ago. After going AWOL, Catherine sent lavish gifts to Ariana and Alisa, while the children’s father, Terry Winston, and his wife, Jackie, reared the girls with all their love and care.
Now, as the twins are ready to graduate high school, Catherine is suddenly begging to visit and full of affection. A change of heart is hardly her motive, though: Catherine needs the girls–at least one of them–to save her life. For her kidneys are failing, and unless one of her daughters gives her an organ, Catherine may not be around long enough to find another compatible donor.
The news of Catherine’s illness affects her estranged family in different ways, as each member struggles with anger, resentment, and a sense of guilt over turning a blind eye. And when a decision is finally made, an unexpected secret is revealed–one that will rock the Winston family, heart and soul.

Touching Story.......2006-12-11
This is the first book I read by this author but it won't be the last. This story was good to the last drop. I hated Catherine with a passion. She was one evil woman!!!! The book was also informative as to kidney disease. Alot of the things discussed, I did not know. I highly recommend this book.
What a crazy character, but a good read.......2006-11-13
I had enjoyed this book from beginning to end, never reading the prequel to this novel, I never knew how evil a person can be. Catherine, the twins' biological mother, really has no heart. Can a person really be that evil without some type of psychiatric diagnosis? Geesh, what a crazy and ambitious woman. But she had no heart, you could tell that she was really empty because the well has ran dry in her heart. Other than Catherine , that's pretty much all of the drama you would find in this book. This is my first Parry Brown book, so I would like to check out what else she got in store. So far, so good.
This is a book by another Christian based author who is pretty unknown. I believe this is the first book of the series. It sounds like a book for teenagers for those who are interested. Being One - No One is like No Other. High School- The next frontier. v. 1 (High School- the Next Frontier)
Very good read.......2006-11-10
I found the story to be very suspensful yet I didn't have to wait long for the outcome of each episode. I found myself wondering what would I do if I were in the position of each of the characters and let me say, I thank God that I've never found myself in EITHER of their shoes.
Great story but what happens with the info regarding the twins biological father or is that your way of bringing Catherine and her family back? lol

Awesome.......2006-11-02
This was a wonderful follow up to The Shirt Off His Back!!! This book was well written and kept you going until the very end (which only took two days to get...lol) I wonder if there will be a part 3??
Making Your Bed.......2006-10-21
After showing off and leaving readers mouths agape in The Shirt Off His Back by Parry "EbonySatin" Brown, Catherine Hawkins returns to wreck havoc once again in What Goes Around also by Brown. Ariana and Alisa are the twin daughters of Terry Winston and Catherine Hawkins. Catherine, wanting a career more than her family, sets off to make millions. Terry is married to Jackie and they have successfully blended their families into one cohesive unit. Embarking on high school graduation, the twins have grown from small children into teenagers, and with that come all of the angst teens and their parents must face.
As the twins make college decisions and prepare for the prom, Catherine returns with a plea to be a part of the impending festivities. Their parents are suspicious as is one of the twins. Finally the truth is revealed and it is at this point that the twins are no longer identical in their decisions making. Catherine has thrown a bombshell and as such, guilt has set in and mistrust is abundant. In the midst of this, Catherine is also caught up in some dirty business dealings that has serious repercussions.
Brown has captured the emotions families must face when placed in life and death situations. She has portrayed twins as individuals in their style and mannerisms and the secondary characters add realism to the action around them, which makes for some humorous moments during trying times. This is a very good follow up to a sad beginning and the old adage of what goes around is very apparent within the text.

Book Description
What goes around comes around . . .
When the body of high-priced call girl Ginger Pass is found dead on a path outside the summer retreat of the most exclusive men's club in California, the other members of her self-help group—Polly, Kat, Charlotte, Dinah, and Justine—are convinced it was foul play. Now they have to find a way to prove it.
Their amateur sleuthing leads them to a trio of rich, powerful men: a politician running on a platform of family values, a divorce lawyer with a trophy wife, and a developer with an unhealthy predilection for expensive art. Hidden behind walls of money, connections, and respectability, these men seem to be untouchable. But little do they know of the plans being set in motion to strike them where it really hurts—in the most private aspects of their lives.
Like Robin Hood's merry men, King Arthur's knights, and the Girl Scouts rolled into one, the adventurous and brave quintet of women will risk everything to bring down the men they believe caused their friend's death. The women know the consequences if they fail. But they don't count on what will happen to their lives if they succeed.

Literate and a Gem.......2007-09-01
The reader of What Goes Around enters a participatory adventure with five characters, smart women who are resolute in wanting to avenge the murder of a friend. They plan their revenge not simply as personal payback, but as legitimate justice. Their targets are three powerful men who otherwise won't be held responsible. These men are protected by wealth and position, but if they can't be brought to justice, the victim's friends will bring justice to them. As satisfying as seeing the "good revenges" work out are the self-discoveries the women make in facing their own fears and dangerous situations.
I think Susan Diamond is an outstanding writer, presenting serious themes of public and private life, privilege and morality, and the power of friendship. Outstanding also is the aura of Los Angeles. The novel is a real page-turner: consequential, intelligent, witty, and yes, downright funny. What a surprise and pleasure is this gem!
Great novel about the strength of friendship.......2007-08-22
I love the smart characters and fast-moving plot of this novel. The
women in WHAT GOES AROUND absolutely personify friendship and
bravery. I picked this up for a Summer read- but this book goes in my top 10 list of all time. I hope there's a sequel!
All-weather Winner.......2007-06-23
Susan Diamond's WHAT GOES AROUND not only is a good beach read, it's a great read, period. Clear a significant period of time when you dip into this compelling story because you'll be reading far longer than you had planned, maybe, as I did, the whole book in one sitting. I didn't want the book to end and came away with affection and admiration for the five terrific California women.
This is an all-weather winner, and I'll definitely recommend it when my book club meets again in September.
Revenge In The City.......2007-04-12
Five fascinating L.A. women who have no problem taking charge and taking powerful men by surprise as they exact revenge in clever and creative ways. An engrossing story that will keep you reading into the night. You'll wish you could have known Ginger Pass before she died. Maybe the author will write a prequel.
Book Description
The steamy story of the reunion of a man and a woman who share a past -- one that led to a dangerous game of deception.
Winston and Arnelle, the best friends of the beloved characters from Darrien Lee's bestselling books, All That and a Bag of Chips and Been There, Done That, seem to have it all: good looks, professional success, and an irrepressible appeal to the opposite sex. However, in What Goes Around Comes Around readers learn that they share something else -- a shocking secret buried deep in their past.
Winston, a dapper young attorney, is king of the conquest. He has
bedded so many different women over the years he can barely remember them. However, he finally falls under the spell of a sexy vixen named Arnelle Lapahie, a sports medicine doctor whose office is in the same building as Winston's law firm. While Arnelle finds Winston handsome and tempting, she is hurt that he doesn't remember crossing paths with her years earlier. Arnelle must decide whether she should harp on the past or attempt to make a fresh start with the man of her dreams.
Packed with emotional drama, What Goes Around Comes Around is a fascinating story of two people who must test their ability to forgive, trust, and, ultimately, love.

Summer Read.......2006-06-02
I like this novel. It does has a quite of twist and turns in it . It didn't start off hitting Winston and Arnelle together immediately.Their relationship grew as well as, other relatonship has to grow.It was like a rebirth among stranger to friends. If you ever being a college student living on campus you know what I means. There are many, many activites goes on.There are many changings you see everyday meeting new faces everyday.First time for everything can result in pregnancy. It was a nice novel to read .
excellent read.......2006-03-19
excellent read, i have read all 4 books in a week. Darrien Lee is a great author
We've seen this before.......2005-12-17
This your typical love story about a dude named Winston and a woman named Arnelle that find they are a perfefct match for each other. Winston decides to turn in his players card after getting with Arnelle. But a secret from the past tries to break up their future together and they have to see if their love is strong enough to survive the rough past.
I really didn't think this book was all that good it was a bit boring at times. You know what's going to happen in the end and I had problems with some of the dialogues because they were too simple. Every character seemed to get along with each other oh too well. It was like the book was set in a utopia setting. There was not enough drama, not enough twists and not enough excitement. But maybe I'm biased because I've read so many books, but I didn't think it was all that great.
Great Story!.......2005-09-17
I really enjoyed this follow-up to the authors previous books. You got introduced to young Winston (Skeeter) Carter III, when he attended college with his best friend Craig in "All That and a Bag of Chips." You like him, but he kind of rubs you the wrong way! You got to know him a little more in "Been There, Done That" and you begin to respect him. Now in his own story, you will love him!
This is the story of Winston Carter III and Arnelle Lapahie. While others say that this book is the same as the others I find it different. Each page capitivates you and leaves you wanting to find out what the next page holds! Kudos to Darrien Lee! Continue to bring us the love! Relationship love, and love of family!
Being that I LOVE the two previous books, I was excited when this one hit the shelves. I read it then and I just finished reading it for the second time, earlier this week. Now my mind will be nice and ready for the sequel "When Hell Freezes Over"! I suggest that you read the previous two before you dive into "What Goes Around, Comes Around", it's not required, but I think that it will bring you closer to the characters. ENJOY!!

This is not a book about "Eye Problems" and should be removed from the "Eye Problems" category.
This one is worth it! .......2006-09-24
Some people are skeptical about Karma. Thoose are the ones, who need to learn about Karma. Done a lot of bad in your life? Read this book. Maybe you can pick up a karma payment plan soon. This book is simple, and easy to read. A good book all around. I would love to suggest this book to others who are interested in self-improvement and life improvement all-around improvement in thier lives.
After I read this book, I took a sudden glance back at my life and thought, "I wonder if I could have read this book five years ago, where I would be today...."
VERY BASIC LOOK AT BUDDHIST TEACHING OF KARMA.......2004-10-28
Mr. Mack has written a short, very funny look at karma-lite and it should not take you more than a few hours to get through this book. Although entertaining, I wish the book had more substance to it. Mr. Mack presents the Buddhist teaching of karma and gives pretty short shrift to the Hindu perception, even though, in my own opinion, the Hindu view makes more sense when it comes to explaining the world and why things happen.
One of the shortest chapters is Why Bad Things Happen to Good People and this surprised me. With AIDS and Holocausts, child molestation and monsoons that kill thousands, one would think that Mr. Mack would have spent a little more time with why this stuff gets dumped on innocent people all the time. Another chapter might have been Why Good Things Happen to Bad People, since we all know liars, thieves, adulterers, etc., who never pay for their crimes or transgressions. According to traditional Buddhism these people will 'pay' in a next life, making it balance out, but Mr. Mack appears to have no belief in reincarnation (or if he does, he hides it well), leaving one to wonder how karma works things out in the end.
There are a few contradictions in the book, when anecdotes are presented to show karma in action. A shy, country-music-hating man finds himself at a country music festival with his wife. He hums classical music, does not tap his toes and for this negative karmic action he pays when the porta potty he is in tips over on him and covers him in poo. Yet karma is supposed to be objective and not punishment. Would the porta potty not have turned over if a Shania Twain fan had been in it? A fish-hating woman puts a goldfish into a restaurants outdoor faux pond after deciding she does not want it in the house anymore, and the next day the family sees that the pond has been drained, therefore killing the fish. If she had not taken the goldfish there would the pond not have been drained? How are the 2 karmically connected at all?
For those who have little knowledge of the very basics of karma this book can answer a few questions, but if you're really interested, I would suggest books written by either Hindu teachers or Buddhist teachers, as they have more information, depth and answer the questions about Life that most of us have regarding pain, illness, suffering, death, etc.
Short, simple book on the basics of karma.......2003-07-06
_Karma 101_ gives a simple, step-by-step path to instruction in the ways of Taoist/Buddhist philosophy, especially karma. Not a complicated or exhaustive source, but a good start for the curious reader.
Yay, Karma!.......2002-12-03
I have been interested in Buddhism and eastern philosophies for a while. But like many people these days, I have a hard time finding the time to devote myself to anything besides work and sleep...So this book was a fun and informative help to me. I happen to be living with some very devoted Buddhists right now, and they also read the book and loved it-said that it is right on-well written and truly helpful for people wanting to learn more with little time to delve...Thouroughly enjoyable education!!!

Olivia says..........1999-07-24
My four year old neice recited the entire book from memory last time I saw her. I guess she loves it.
Book Description
Nicole is tired of doing backflips to stay in good graces--and she's not the only one. It was only a matter of time before someone gave Court a dose of her own medicine . . . but did it have to be on prom night?
Jesse can't believe he was foolish enough to ask Melanie to the CCHS prom. He's wasted way too much time dreaming of holding her in his arms--hasn't she made her feelings about him brutally clear?
Melanie tried her hardest to get Nicole on the cheering squad. Maybe that's why she feels so responsible now that her friend didn't make it. First runner-up isn't good for anything. Unless somebody drops out. . . .

Help me out if you can!.......2002-12-29
I love these books! As almost all of the other readers of these books have said, they are truly the most addicting things to read! I have every book in the series, including the Special Diaries one, except #17. There seems to be only one being sold on Amazon.com (as of today: Dec. 28, 2002), and it's [alot more than I can afford]. Being a teen, I don't have the money lying around, so if you have it used-let me know. I check Amazon.com a lot-please put it on the market!! Sounds crazy, but I need this book! You have no idea!!
DEVASTATED.......2002-01-01
I have read every book in this series of books and I am addicted. I'm even waiting for one of the first copies of number 20 in the series. I will DIE when the series ends. Please DON'T STOP and even when you have to, please write another exactly like it. The way that people can relate to the characters is scary. Out of all the series of books that I've ever read, this is the most addictive one yet. They are my favorite books in the book world. Thankyou for coming up with such amazing things for everyone to enjoy. And please don't stop writing.
Yours truly

The Best!.......2000-10-15
This book was incredibly good, one of the main reasons being that the characters are so real. Nicole, Miguel, Melanie, Leah, and Jesse seem to be featured mostly in this book, while the others are more in the background. Just like the first fourteen books, Melanie and Jesse can't get along or come to some sort of truce, and pesky Courtney won't leave Nicole alone. However, in "What Goes Around", there are many surprises awaiting the reader about these four. Then there's Miguel, who is still feeling the loss of his friend Zach. If you've read other Clearwater Crossing books, you'll be aware of how moody Miguel can be, and the impact Zach's death has on Miguel is evidence of this. This book is exciting and seems to move along more than many of the other books in this series. I felt as though I got to know some of the characters better then ever, because this book brought out the deeper feelings of these characters. This book also held many surprises and an unpredictable ending. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a good book.

Book Description
What Goes Around is a story about Ray Banno, a medical research scientist, and his confrontation with the ghosts that haunt him.
Ten years ago Banno was the vice president of a large California bank and was wrongfully incarcerated for bank fraud. Since his release from prison, he has made a new life for himself. He has had plastic surgery, gone into research and is on the verge of finding a cure to a deadly pulmonary disease. By an apparent qirk of fate, he has been chosen to be a juror in the bank fraud trial of Andre Rhodes, his ex-boss, and the person who framed him at his own trial. Rhodes is being tried for the same transaction in which Banno was sent to prison. The case is too complex for most people to understand and Banno can influence the other jurors to convict Rhodes. Revenge is his for the taking.
Unbeknownst to Banno, Rhodes, who owns the majority of the stock in the company that makes the medical equipment used to treat the pulmonary disease which is the subject of Banno's research, is about to gain control of Banno's laboratory. Rhodes' agenda in buying the laboratory rights is to prevent any cure resulting from the research. There is much more money to be made treating the disease than curing it.
Banno's ex-wife, Misty, left him for Rhodes while he was in prison. She discovers Banno's secret and tries to blackmail him for her own ends.
Thus, regardless of which way Banno manipulates the jury, he is doomed.
In an elaborate tale of half-truths and lies, Goldman takes us on a journey of conflict and intrigue where Banno strives for redemption.
