Book Description
"Most of what you've heard, read or been told about the End Times is wrong," says popular radio host and bestselling apologist, Hank Hanegraaff. "We have come to accept a wide range of beliefs and teachings about the future, about the ultimate battle between good and evil, about the last days, and about how our world will end. And most of these beliefs and teachings are based on fundamental misinterpretations of what the scriptures really say about the end times."
The Apocalypse Code helps readers understand what the Bible
really says about End Times, and why what we believe matters so much in today's world.

Overly Narrow Presentation with Many Omissions.......2007-10-14
I highly respect Hank Hanegraff, and my bookshelf is lined with his books. If Hank speaks, I listen. In this case, his principles for interpreting end-times passages are something every Christian should take to heart. However, I feel that his treatment of the subject matter was overly narrow to the point of undermining his point.
People may recognize me as the author of "Before God's Wrath: The Bible's Answer to the Timing of the Rapture," which is considered one of the "classic" defenses of the prewrath rapture. Since its publication almost a decade ago, however, readers have flooded me with questions. Some of those questions (unbeknownst to the askers) have forced me to deal with fundamental weaknesses in the entire premillennial scheme. This has made me willing to at least give non-premils like Hanegraff a fair hearing.
Okay, convince me. The result? This book reinforced my existing concerns, but it provided no satisfactory solutions.
If you take ONLY the passages Hanegraff discusses, then this is a powerful presentation for the fulfillment of Jesus' Matthew 24 prophecy in the first century. But there are internal contradictions and huge omissions that ruin the book for me.
Hanegraff criticizes futurists, for example, for placing a 2000-year gap between the disciples' question in Matthew 24:2 and Jesus' answer in verse three. This is a legitimate point. However, he then argues that the destruction of the temple was the fulfillment of Matthew 24:31, but ignores the "end of the world" context from there to the end of the chapter. Was Matthew 24:32 ff. fulfilled in the first century? If so, how does it fit the historical context? Is its fulfillment yet future? If so, how does Hank get there from v. 31? He never says.
Hank also relies heavily - if not exclusively - on Old Testament referents to interpret Jesus' words about his "coming on the clouds" in Matthew 24:30-31. Again, a good point. Yet, he ignores the fact that that Paul uses identical language to describe Jesus' Second Coming in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, which Hanegraff does NOT believe occurred in the first century. Moreover, Hanegraff never addresses the apparent contradiction that Jesus' language in this passage is concrete, not apocalyptic, and inserting an apocalyptic interpretation into a concrete passage violates Hanegraff's own rules of scriptural synergy.
Hanegraff also addresses the letters to the churches and the visions in Revelation, but he omits discussion of the seals, trumpets, and bowls. He seems to believe that they are part of the trifold judgment on Jerusalem, but he never discusses how the fulfillment of even one of them can be explained. And he does seem to believe that the description in Revelation 19 is describing the end of the world, but since he seems to believe everything else relates to the first century, on what basis does he get there? Again, he allows the same kind of 2000-year jump for which he criticizes futurists.
Hank bases his partial preterist argument on a pre-A.D. 70 date for the writing of Revelation. His argument is founded, in part, on the fact that if the destruction of the temple had occurred before its writing, why didn't John mention it? If this is the logic, then it raises the correspondingly legitimate question: If the A.D. 70 destruction of the temple was widely understood to be the fulfillment of many end-times prophecies, why were the first and second century church fathers still looking for a future tribulation and future Antichrist? This is not a long span of time.
These are questions Hanegraff simply never addresses. As a result, the book fell flat for me. For serious students of the end times, it does make some very good points. But if you are looking for the answer to the end-times puzzle, I'm afraid this book creates more questions than answers.
The Antidote for "Left Behind".......2007-10-14
This book will not cause a sensation like Hal Lindsey's "The Late Great Planet Earth" or Tim LaHaye's "Left Behind" series. However, it is a much more credible resource in understanding The Book of Revelation. Like a detective or a research scientist, Hanegraaff uses the Bible itself and actual historical facts to explain Revelation's cryptic but powerful message. Symbols and patterns which are found in the Old Testament are used in Revelation. In addition Revelation conforms to the time and place in which it was written, the first century Roman Empire. Revelation was easily understood by the audience to which it was addressed. Modern doomsday peddlers have muddled it up. Hanegraaff doesn't allow his own imaginitive flights of fancy to dictate his research. Therefore, you will not find any nuclear bombs, implanted microchips, tanks, or attack helicopters in this book.
Hanegraaff unmasks dispensationalism, the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine, and "Christian Zionism" for what they are, concoctions started by Charles Darby in the 19th century and perpetrated by a cadre of modern day false prophets. None of these doctrines are found in the New Testament and were never espoused by any of the apostles or early church fathers.
The idea of a secret rapture prior to the Great Tribulation is completely fabricated yet is being espoused by multi-million dollar television conglomerates and mega-evangelists as the new orthodoxy and those who dare to challenge it are branded as heretics or anti-semitic by self-aggrandizing windbags like John Hagee (see my review of his doomsday book).
I salute Hank Hanegraaff for having the knowledge, the intelligence, and the guts to stand up to these pulpit bullies.
To place the tribulations of Revelation in the 21st century is to make a liar and deceiver out of Jesus and the Apostle John. It also trivializes the horrendous tribulations and sufferings early Christians had to endure at the hands of the Romans. Hanegraaff demonstrates how Revelation was addressed to Christians about to face the greatest tribulations of all, the Neronian purgings in Rome and the destruction of Jerusalem.
Hanegraaff allows Revelation to date itself rather than a third century church father, Irenaeus, who also claimed Jesus was crucified at the age of fifty. Revelation refers to Jerusalem and the Temple as currently existing entities. Dating Revelation after 70 C.E. is like writing a post 9/11 history of New York city without ever mentioning the event. WHY WOULD JOHN WRITE TO THE SEVEN CHURCHES IN ASIA MINOR ABOUT SOMETHING THAT WASN'T GOING TO HAPPEN FOR ANOTHER 2,000 YEARS?!!!
Hanegraaff links Revelation's "harlot" to ancient Israel. This is no more anti-Semitic than the prophets Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and Hosea who used the same terminology in rebuking Israel in their times. I would add that the Dead Sea community also rejected their current Jewish establishment as well as the Jewish Christian Ebionites. LaHaye's identification of the "harlot" with the Roman Catholic church, which came about over 200 years after Revelation, shows his ignorance and mean spirit.
Hanegraaff demonstrates how the "Son of Man coming in the clouds" refers to Jesus' enthronement in Heaven rather than his second coming. The seven kings (Caesars), five who have fallen, conforms to the time of Nero, who was considered a "beast" by Roman writers such as Seutonius. Hanegraaff also demonstrates how the number 666 is a cryptic reference to the name Caesar Nero (refer also to Kenneth Gentry's excellent book "The Beast of Revelation"). The end of the age which Jesus told his disciples would occur in their generation was not the end of the cosmos, but the end of the current age in which they were living.
Hanegraaff also debunks new-age fascination with the Gnostic Gospels, ie. The Gospel of Judas, which were third century fairy tales and parasitic with respect to the canonical Gospels. He also disputes the idea that anti-Semitism motivated the canonization of The New Testament which is espoused by modern scholars like Bart Ehrman. I stand by Ehrman's view of Jesus as an apocalyptic prophet (see my review) but I agree with Hanegraaff on the previous point. The books of The New Testament were written long before Christians had the power to undermine Judaism or anything else.
Finally, Hanegraaff exposes the nonsense of "Christian Zionism" which is a by-product of dispensationalism. The idea of rebuilding the Temple and reinstituting the sacrificial system completely negates the core belief of the earliest followers of Jesus which is clearly spelled out in the New Testament, especially the book of Hebrews which states that Jesus' crucifixion put an end to animal sacrifice once and for all. The New Testament makes it abundantly clear to anyone who can read it for themselves - THE LORD'S THRONE IS IN HEAVEN AND NOT ON ANY PIECE OF TANGIBLE REAL ESTATE!!!
Hanegraaff points out that bad theology leads to bad politics and that the forced removal of Palestinians is not only unethical but unbiblical as well. For example, Pat Robertson linking Ariel Sharon's stroke and Yitzhak Rabin's assassination to their negotiating with Palestinians and Michael Evans' claiming George W. Bush was under a curse for criticizing Israel are as looney as trying to breed cattle to produce a red heifer.
I would advise Jewish people not to be conned by "Christian Zionists" who believe that Israel will be restored to its original borders and the Temple will be rebuilt only to have it taken over by the "Anti-Christ". Then, after all the good Christians (dispensationalists) are raptured, the Jews will endure a tribulation that will make the Holocaust look like child's play. At the very end, unbelievers, including Jews who don't accept Jesus, will be thrown into the "lake of fire".
What a deal!!! Trust me, you're better off negotiating with the Palestinians!
Great book to get started with.......2007-10-13
I found this book did a lot to crystallize my thinking on this subject of End Times. I enjoyed it more the second time I read it and learn even more than the first. I spent 20 year attending a Pre-Trib/Pre-Mil church and hearing the Hal Lindsey-like descriptions of the soon coming tribulation. Somehow the popular view of End Times being preached seemed to stretch my imagination so I always maintained silence and impartiality.
Hank does a great job to showing that those prescribing to the views of Tim LaHay and crowd are erroneous in their interpretation of scripture...and I agree! What used to once be confusing is now becoming clearer. I am having to re-think my entire view of Eschatology (for the better I suspect). Hank does NOT tell you what to think and what view is "correct". What he does is challenge the reader to interpret the scriptures according to a model of biblical interpretation L-I-G-H-T-S. Those who have listened to Hank are not surprised at the acronym since he uses these tools to help memorize methods and concepts, as he does in this book. This is not the end all book on hermeneutics: other good resources are The Bible Doesn't Have to Be Hard to Read and How to Read the Bible for All Its Worth.
Hank's book has a lot of information in the appendix too..don't over look it.
Dispensationalists Beware!!.......2007-10-07
Kudos to Hank Hanegraaff for yet another powerful book exposing questionable doctrines which have risen to popularity within the Christian Church. In "Apocalypse Code", Hank goes through the history and forces behind the dispensationalist movement which has gained strength in the last 10 years with the "Left Behind" series. As always, Hank approaches the reading of Revalations and other Bible prophesy from the perspective of LIGHTS - the acronym explaining proper principles of bible interpretation. In the book, Hank spends the first quarter of the book just reminding the reader how to read scriptures "for all it's worth".
The book spends most of its pages refuting the dispensationalist author Tim LaHaye. This is really the whole thrust of the book. When Hank mentioned he was starting this project on his radio program, I had high hopes that Hank would not just refute dispensationalism, but go into great detail about the whole spectrum of end time prophesy interpretations. By only focusing on refuting dispensationalism, he leaves woefully short the other interpretations (biblically correct or not) and instead challenges the reader to figure it out for himself. While clearly a partial pretarist, he only briefly talks about full pretarism and pretrib/postrib interpretations and all the rest. GIVE ME MORE MEAT HERE!
I suppose such a wish from me would have resulted in a book 3-4 times longer than this one, but it would have been more enlightening and easier to have in one resource. However, "Apocalypse Code" would be a great resource for anyone who got caught in the "Left Behind" hype and found some or all of the interpretations hard to buy into and need to seek help learning that their bologne indicators were probably right.
good, but could have been much better.......2007-09-08
I had high hopes for this book. After studying the Partial Preterist view for a few years with a very skeptical mind, I became convinced. Given Hanegraaff's reputation, the length of the book, and the table of contents I thought sure this would be the definitive book to explain the position, but alas. Here are a few points
1. I think the average reader won't know anything about this view. Hank should have explained the underlying suppositions more. Still, the basics are there for anyone to investigate further.
2. It is important to learn this veiw methodically since it is so radically different from any futurist view, and remarkably different from the Amillenialist view. Hank doesn't present it methodically, rather it is presented somewhat piecemeal. Still, it does present the most important points so it is very valuable.
3. Even for someone like me who has read extensively, this book is not written particularly well. He is a bit vague and doesn't present the material very clearly. This is a style issue, not content. Still, for the person who wants to know and reads the references, it is a good beginning.
All in all, I was dissatisfied but I am glad it is out there. If this view is correct (and I think it is) it will revolutionize the thinking of believers, from what's coming in the future to our understanding of the nature of God Himself.

Buy for everyone you know.......2007-03-13
This book is a quick and fun read. I made it a point to read one title a day, which turns out to be a two page spread. The concepts are driven home with incredible supporting photos and powerful text treatments.
highly motivating book for sure!.......2007-03-05
Dr. Cramer is rock star in the area of "the glass is half full" thinking! This book is a great read and re-read to cement good, positive, motivated, lean-forward behaviors. And I for one appreciate the reminder and the helpful tips. It's also a book that's well laid out so that I can refer back to key sections easily! Kudos to Kathy and Hank for summing up life's lessons so well!
Entertaining & creative book.......2006-08-23
This is an entertaining book with a creative approach to concepts in Positive Psychology. Its style and content is a reflection of the combined efforts of a psychologist (K Cramer)& a creative advertising executive (H Wasiak).
The presentation of concepts is clear, simple and straightforward. It breaks down into categories of: How you see yourself; How you see others; and How you see Situations. The main concept promoted is to use Asset Based thinking as oppossed to Deficit Based thinking (which parallels many concepts of positive psychology)
The chapters and concepts are enhanced with thought provoking visual pictures, interesting charts, some personal stories, and great graphics. This presentation makes it easy to read, and even useful if you want to use material for lectures or classes.
For a rigorous clinician or coach, the exercises they recommend throughout the book are not especially powerful or unique. In addition, they make very few references to psychological studies to support claims about the effectiveness of Asset Based Thinking.
Forget Perfection.......2006-07-18
This book truly brought positive and new insight into my life. As a person who often veers towards a path of perfection the wisdom of this book reminded me that trying to do everything flawlessly is not the key to success. Instead, taking the "magnify what's best and focus on what's next" approach has opened up a whole new world of possibilities and happiness for me. The simple but powerful messages, accompanied by the inviting photographs found inside the book will engage all readers and help them to make the most of their assets.

Mandatory textbook.......2007-05-13
I'm disappointed in this textbook because it does not provide much bang for the buck. I believe that the text could have been half as thick, half as expensive and provide no less information than it does.
Well-researched and nicely executed.......2004-12-30
Like many in the Jossey Bass series, Tempel's work is thorough and well-written, covering all important aspects of fundraising. A great introductory guide.
A must read for the fundraising professional!.......2003-06-30
Whether you've been in the fundraising profession for 10 minutes or 10 years, do yourself a favour and read this book. It will make you proud to be part of the tradition of philanthropy. It will inspire and guide you. You will see yourself and the volunteers and donors you work with in a whole new light. Don't put it in your library. Keep it on your desk. The first time you read it, and you will read it joyfully from cover to cover, keep pen and paper handy. You will find yourself making a list of things you need and want to do. Achieving Excellence in Fundraising is thoughtful and thought-provoking. It is the place where the theory, practice, philosophy and spirituality of a great tradition meet.
Review for the Golden Gate Chapter of AFP Newsletter.......2003-05-31
On my fundraising shelf stood just two books and a binder: "Designs for Fundraising" by Harold Seymour © 1966; "The Raising of Money" by James Gregory Lord © 1987, and my collected monthly newsletters of tips from Taft. Not a lot to go on, but Seymour's classic helped me enormously, imparting such nuggets as, "At best, with few exceptions, people don't pay close or careful attention to anything."
OK, so listen up. Times have changed. Many, many books now beckon us, delivering the full spectrum of nonprofit knowledge. Yet all books are not equal. When Henry (Hank) Rosso gathered a number of esteemed colleagues together and put out Achieving Excellence in Fund Raising in 1991, it represented a milestone in fundraising education, based as it was on his many years of teaching through The Fund Raising School, which he founded right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. The School later became a program of The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, and it continues to provide superior, basic training in fund raising principle and practice throughout the country. All the years of teaching experience and the benefits of association with IU are now reflected in this expanded, caught-up-with-the-world second edition of the "Rosso" (RAH-so).
It was time. Consider that when Achieving Excellence debuted in 1991, the stock market stood at 2736, Giving USA estimated total philanthropic support at $105 billion, and the National Science Foundation had just lifted its ban on commercial use of the Internet. Today, as we reel and grapple, it is worth noting that the markets have more than tripled from 1991; philanthropic dollars have doubled; and the Internet is our bread and butter. The second edition adds several chapters in recognition of the changes and rounds out its predecessor. We read about the new order, how to build endowment, women as donors, trends in major donor giving (read with caution, as markets and donor experience have had some impact), diversity considerations, Internet strategies, special events fundraising, technology use, budgeting and accountability, stewardship, international perspectives, and fund raising as a profession. These are welcome additions.
Given the scope attempted by the book, I should point out that there are, in fact, a few areas not covered, including how to obtain government grants and contracts, and exhaustive instructions on how to write a grant proposal to a foundation. But if you heed what these authors have written, you will have no problem accomplishing either feat.
Most of the authors in this edition are new to the "Rosso," numbering 27 in all. The first edition lists 13 contributors. Hank wrote eight of the chapters of that book; he has two in this one. With Hank gone (1999), we are guided into Rosso II by the gentle, sure hands of Eugene Tempel, executive director of the IU Center on Philanthropy and Tim Seiler, current director of The Fund Raising School. Between them (with a chapter from Hank), they set the stage in Parts One (Context) and Two (Fundamentals).
The book proceeds logically and is easy to navigate or use as a quick reference. "Fundamentals" is followed by sections treating "building blocks" (e.g. annual fund, capital campaign), sources, methods (e.g. direct mail, special events), management (e.g. leadership, boards, information, budgeting, consultants), ethics, stewardship, and personal professional support. A thorough Glossary and Bibliography follow.
Our AFP chapter boasts several representatives here: Kim Klein reprises her excellent chapter on grassroots fund raising and Kay Grace on leadership; Mal Warwick writes the update on direct mail; Alan Wendroff supplies special events; and Skip Henderson updates us on the trustees' role.
The context is still Hank's, which means that ultimately, the book is not about the joy of soliciting but something higher. I'm sure he would be tickled if you inscribed your book as he wrote in so many of our first editions "I hope that you will enjoy the reading of this book. Let it help you to teach the joy of giving. Hank Rosso"

Nice: Hanegraaff does it again -- pay attn to the end-times theology.......2007-10-12
The original Hanegraaff Bible Answer Book was outstanding. This one is good too, though not quite up to snuff with the first. Seems like there's a little bit less in this one, and a few of the subjects are repetitive. But here's what I like.....
...The end-times views!!! There's 82 specific questions in this book, ranging from basic apologetics, to intriguing queries (Was Jesus Married? How could the bible command a rape victim to marry her rapist? Is euthenasia ever permissable?), to quite a few concerning Hank's end-times eschatology --- which I'm becoming more and more a fan of.
#72 "Is 'Coming on the clouds' a reference to Christ's Second Coming?'
Hanks answer, in part... "...clouds were a common Old Testament symbol pointing to God as the sovereign judge of the nations." (p. 208) After quoting Isaiah 19:1 (in which the Lord rides on a cloud and is coming to judge Egypt), Hank writes "Furthermore, the 'coming on the clouds' judgment metaphor was clearly intended for Caiaphas and the first-century crowd that condemned Christ to death..." obviously, Jesus was in this instance as in others, referring to the judgment upon 'this generation' --- the fall of Jerusalem in 70 a.d.
#78 'What is the meaning of 666?'
Hank's assessment -- "Placing the beast in the twenty-first century, however, may well pose insurmountale difficulties. First John, the author of Revelation, told a first-century audience that with 'wisdom' and 'insight' they would be able to 'calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number...." (p. 229) Hank then teaches that "...transforming names into numbers (gematria) was common in antiquity...." and that Nero "... transliterated into Hebrew equals 666. Moreover, the presence in some ancient manuscripts of a variation in which 666 is rendered 616 lends further credence to Nero as the intended referent. The Hebrew transliteration of the Latin spelling of 'Nero Caesar' totals 616." (p.230) Writing of the times of the deaths of Peter and Paul, Hank concludes, "Indeed this was the only epoch in human history in which the Beast could directly assail the foundation of the Christian Church of which Christ himself was the cornerstone."
Other questions on this line of thought in the book are "Which generation is 'this generation'?", and "Does the Bible make a distinction between Israel and the church?".
Overall, another great question and answer book complete with verse references and some good sources for further study. Definitely not to heady, though you'll want to read the answers through and study them thoroughly, like you're supposed to do (Acts 17:11).
Another Apologetics Must Read.......2007-04-16
The Bible Answer Book, Volume 2 is the second collection of most popular questions posed on Hanegraff's radio show. Like the first book, he distills the answers to the essentials so this is meant to be a starting point, not a detailed exposition. These books are small, but handy references and the majority of answers are agreeable. Both books are essential additions to your apologetics library. Many thanks to Hanegraff for continuing to equip believers and answering skeptics.
More answers to defend you faith with biblical answers!.......2007-04-01
A perfect guide to find accurate biblical answers for questions about the Christian faith without having to stumble when asked something you may not know. Easy to find answers on many questions asked by seekers, non-believers and skeptics. This is the 2nd book that provides answers to questions not covered in the 1st version.
Poor Bible Question and Answer book........2007-03-16
If you are looking for a book to find answers to bible questions this is not it.
Keep looking. The Bible answer book 2 is a poor question and Answer book.
The author either fails to answer the questions are answers them in a way thats hard to understand. He uses words in his answers that a lot of people would not know what the mean.
Some of the time he does explain them but not always.
To many of his answers either is not what the bibles says or goes beyond what the bible say about the subject.
The scriptures he uses to support his answers either are not talking about the subject or they do but not as far as he takes his answer. (See above sentence).
Also to much at the bottom of the answer where is says for more study.... it directs the reader to the minstry the author works for to sell you something.
At least this one did suggest reading other authors books to study the subject of the questions unlike vol 1 that always directed you to the authors other books.
The writer seems to have not considered his audience in writing this becuse it is hard to understand his answers. He seems unable to give a simple answer.
Alot in this book is questionable or is not what the bible teaches.
As in my review of the vol 1 I suggest you get "Now thats a good quetion?" by Sproul. This is good bible question and answer book. The answers are given so the are understandable. Also it has a table of contents with all the questions in the book and what page there on which makes it easy to fine one on a piticular subject. Also Sproul seems to have a better understanding of the bible in that his answers don't contradict the bible anywhere as much, no more then in general you would find in a book like this on christian teachings.
The author of the bible answer book can write good books, the prayer of Jesus is a good example of his good writing.

Legacy Study Bible.......2007-09-09
The Legacy Study Bible balances the easy readability of a conventional Bible with its large print, wide margins with a study Bible's information with its LEGACY notes. I have found with other study Bibles-(I have a NIV) they have so many notes crammed at the bottom of a page(some pages are almost half a page of notes) you end up with a distracting back and forth syndrome concentrating on them a lot instead of the text or vice-versa. Helpful the way the Old Testament quotes in the New Testament were in oblique type, and references to Alexandrian & Majority text stylistic differences. I like this streamlined offering.
Makes bible study exciting and alive.......2007-07-26
If you've read and listened to Hank Hanegraaff very much, you know that one thing he does so well is to get the right tools to those who desire to study God's word, not just spoon feed all the answers. This bible does just that. Hank introduces each book in a way that gives the right footing to study it for yourself. To me, Hank's introductions through the "LEGACY" acronym, and his "LIGHTS" bible study principles make the scripture come alive. I love the idea and implementation of this "study bible". Great wide margins, two, no just one on the outer column. Print size is just right. Other spaces for notes. Give this one a chance. Thanks Hank.
A useful resource, with a few caveats.......2007-06-13
The Legacy Bible definitely fills a gap in the marketplace. It's the best wide margin Bible you will find for under $100. I appreciate the thought that went into the positioning of the text on the page, so the space is much more usable for making notes. (You don't have to try to write down the center gutter, on on the bottom edge of the page while your hand hangs off the bottom.) Also, this Bible already includes sections on Hank's acronyms for witnessing/apologetics (FACE, FEAT, MAPS, DOCTRINE, etc.), which I always used to copy into my Bibles; now I don't have to. The size of the font is also very user-friendly, which I consider a plus. I have excellent vision, but still like my font to be at least a size ten.
Now, to the minuses:
The NKJV is a very good translation. But it's your only choice if you want a Legacy Bible. I would love to have this Bible in an ESV. Not enough choices are available in the ESV yet, and it is awesome. It's as smooth as the NIV, but more literal/word-for-word. Since the NKJV is the publisher's proprietary translation, I suppose it was the most cost-effective to use.
A better quality leather cover would be great. There's nothing wrong with this cover, it's just bonded leather, which I wouldn't choose if genuine was available.
Some blank note pages in the back would have been very helpful.
This isn't really a study bible in the traditional sense. There are no in-text notes. The material in the front and back of the book is very, very good, but that makes this essentially a self-guided study bible, or an elaborate wide-margin bible. The name should be Legacy Bible, not Legacy Study Bible.
With all that said, this a great resource. I bought two copies, one for me and one for my wife, and we are reading through the Bible together using the Legacy reading plan.
Way to go, Hank!
excellent resource.......2007-05-31
This is a great resource for those who want to leave their own personal legacy on the pages of this Bible by writing notes on the margins. This is where this study Bible differs from the traditional annotated kinds. Also includes three significant creeds and pages to record personal and family remembrances. And finally, Hank's brilliant acronym system will help you to learn how to read the Bilble methodically--for all it's worth!
Surprised by weakness.......2007-05-29
It is just another King James Bible that might have a few more notes that a Gideon Bible.
Book Description
Praise for The Three Skills of Top Trading
"Professor Pruden's new book, The Three Skills of Top Trading, is unquestionably the best book on a specific trading method and the necessary attributes for trading that I have read. His logic, understanding of human foibles, and use of the Wyckoff method of trading are broadly referenced, readable, understandable, and entertaining."
- Charles D. Kirkpatrick, II, CMT, coauthor of
Technical Analysis: The Complete Resource for Financial Market Technicians, Editor of the Journal of Technical Analysis, and board member of the Market Technicians Association
"At long last, someone has taken the time and effort to bring the work and insight of Wyckoff to wider public attention-and Hank Pruden has done so masterfully, with great clarity and eloquence. Hank has taken the best of Wyckoff's work, combining it with the essential aspects of trader discipline and psychology, to provide a highly readable and particularly useful guide to trading. MUST READING!"
- Jacob Bernstein, www.trade-futures.com
"Hank Pruden puts all of the elements needed for successful trading into one volume. This book not only belongs on every trader's shelf but should be close enough for continuous reference."
- Martin J. Pring, President, www.Pring.com
"Dr. Pruden has brought together his lifetime of work in developing a modern approach to analyzing and trading the markets built upon classic market analysis from the early part of the twentieth century and topped off with modern-day tenets of behavioral finance and mental state management."
- Thom Hartle, Director of Marketing for CQG, Inc. (www.cqg.com)
"I usually consider a book to be well worth reading if it gives me one paradigm shift. I believe that this book will give the average investor a lot more than just one."
- Van K. Tharp, PhD, President, Van Tharp Institute

Good stuff.......2007-02-03
The book was sent in an orderly amount of time. There was some writing in it, but all in all in good condition.
This book is funky........2007-01-28
If you feel bad about yourself that you have the inability to draw, then this book is for you. This book will show you that the most stupid doodle that you've ever drawn has meaning and that you can enhance your scribbles to look like graphic design from the year 1979.
It's clear & concise; it needs visual enhancement..........2006-10-01
...maybe 3-1/2 Stars. The basic principles in this book are pretty solid; it's the basic presentation here that leaves a bit to be desired.
This is one of several books that I have with this great, sideways physical format & dimensions: Drawing: A Creative Process, and Basic Perspective Drawing: A Visual Guide being 2 others easily worth mentioning. In any case, Rapid Viz helps creative people with getting their ideas onto paper: quickly, clearly, and in a systematic fashion. Quick & accurate sketching in any medium can be the foundation for finished, professional work. In fact, as this book explains, using a systematic process in developing our ideas can save us a great deal of time in the long run. This book details this systematic process. The ideas here aren't completely new: it's the gathering of these ideas into a single book *for the 1st time* that makes this 'a new method' in its presentation. It's split almost evenly into 2 halves: the first explaining the basics of perspective; the second detailing the specific steps in this quick visualization process. Perspective is clearly the foundation here, which leads me to my biggest criticism: if half this book gives us watered-down perspective, why not just get a full-blown perspective book? And some would say the 2nd half of this book is simply common sense. Of course the answer here is equally simple: common sense isn't always that common(!). It really *can* help to have this process clearly stated in a book. But the entire thing has this sort of watered-down, unfinished look, making it seem like maybe a better version could be just around the corner. As it turns out, there *is* a newer, 3rd edition of this book, and it's actually available today. Since I haven't yet bought this newer version I thought I'd detail my current thoughts in this 2nd edition's review. I actually like to think of Rapid Viz and Ching's Drawing: A Creative Process together as being 2 sides of the same coin. Whereas Ching's book isn't clear & concise but has visual detail & depth, Rapid Viz *is* clear & concise but *lacks* visual detail & depth. If these two could be combined, it might make for a really great single book on rapidly visualizing the creative process. Both have their benefits and, in my opinion, are basically worth getting. Yet I'm not exactly confident others will agree. Maybe the new Rapid Viz 3rd Edition has improved on these ideas...
*UPDATE*- I just bought the new 3rd edition, and I'm very sorry I did- it's a smaller-sized version, a completely unnecessary downgrade, and for me a total & complete waste of money- at best. This here 2nd edition is easily the one I recommend!
This is a great book for anyone who is having problems on their drawing quests!.......2006-04-20
If you are seriously interested in tackling the tougher aspects of drawing: ie, drawing from your imagination, perspective, visualization--this book may be what you are looking for.
I have almost every conceivable how-to drawing book, and while this book seems deceptively simple, it's exercises are profound. He has you learn a visual recognition and intuitive understanding of perspective, and applies it to later studies on form, shading, perspective plans, etc..
DO THE EXERCISES, DON'T JUST READ IT.
He tries, in essence, to teach you to apply 3-dimensional thinking to simple shapes at first, and builds on that.
I can't recommend this book more heartily.
Can't draw your way out of a paper bag?.......2005-11-01
If you have been sketching for years then read someone else's review for a more accurate portrayal of this book. 3D, Perspective, Techniques, Depth, Light, Shadows: Previously, these were all completely beyond me. Practice is the key; the ability to sketch does not lie in a book, but rather in the pencil you are holding. This book gives you a starting point for practice. I've gone from appalling to amateur in a couple of months.

Good book for beginners.......2007-06-12
I am in the process of getting my first bulldog and this book was a helpful introduction to the breed and addressed my initial concerns about adopting a bulldog. It has great pictures and helpful tips about bringing home a new puppy. My only disappointment was that it lacked substantial and glossed over many topics such as training. Overall, great book for beginners though!
Good book .......2007-01-20
This book offers alot on bulldogs. It's a must have if you're a first bulldog owner or not.
Gret book for bulldog owners!.......2007-01-09

Family reading.......2007-06-09
This booklet is must reading for the elderly and members of their family. Presented in an easy to read format and style by a nursing home chaplain, it contains easy to understand medical information from a spiritual viewpoint. Don't wait for an illness to prompt you into reading this valuable booklet.
Helpful for all ages.......2007-03-27
This little book is a must for all adult people. It addresses the serious question of what would you want done if you became mortally ill, were in an accident or in a coma and otherwise would not be able to speak for yourself. The frank, but gentle, theme of this book helps one to think about their own desires in these cases. One may think that it is only for "old people", but I think it is an important thing for each adult to consider carefully and let loved ones and your doctor know of your wishes. I would highly recommend this book for all adults.
Hard Choices for Loving People - Hank Dunn.......2007-03-24
This amazing little book, "Hard Choices for Loving People", is one of the best gifts you could ever give a patient and family who are facing these important end-of-life choices. Mr. Dunn says it so clearly, objectively, and compassionately that so much of the fear and pain of the decision is removed. I am a geriatric nursing leader of 43 years and have felt fortunate to have found this fine book in the early 1990s. I have shared it with many healthcare organizations and providers in California...from acute care to hospice, home health, Long-Term care, and now my church ! Thank you Mr. Dunn. Saundra Jack, RN MSN

Superb - plus also available free.......2005-04-20
I am a health care lawyer sometimes tasked with helping people face difficult end of life issues. This is the most sensitive and lovingly realsitic book of its kind that I've seen -- and there are many other good ones out there. Pssst -- you also can get it through a free pdf download at www.hardchoices.com . The booklet is prettier, but whatever the format, it's a vital read. I've always recommended it to clients, but my own family used it to open up hearts and minds -- and settle an ugly dispute between my mother and one of her brothers -- when my grandfather was dying of Alzheimer's. Hank Dunn's work is a God send.

always be prepared to give an answer.......2007-04-10
Well known for his radio show, Hank Hanegraaff (the bible answer man) puts together an easily referenced compilation of frequently asked questions from the many years on radio and from venues around the world. He recommends further resources to compliment this handbook. Each question and answer is fortified with specific scripture passages. Well written, with straight forward answers.
This book is to equip us to "always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks"
Wish you well

Defend you faith with biblical answers!.......2007-04-01
A perfect guide to find accurate biblical answers for questions about the Christian faith without having to stumble when asked something you may not know. Easy to find answers on many questions asked by seekers, non-believers and skeptics.
It is Biblical!.......2007-01-22
I enjoyed this book and learned from it so much. I have listened to The Bible Answer Man often and I KNOW he bases everything on the word of God. I study the Bible and I have never had a reason to question something Mr Hanegraaff has said, although I do read the references in order to see for myself.
If you are reading this and you are not familiar with Mr Hanegraaff, you CAN trust him. You do not have to worry about being led astray. He gives you the Bible reference so that you can read the passage for yourself and make a determination.
If anyone reads this book and thinks it is not based on the Bible, he should study the Bible for himself by following the references given- perhaps this person has been allowing someone in error to tell him what the Bible "says." I say "perhaps," because I do realize there are areas where there are differences of opinion about what the Bible says. Hank Hanegraaf is devoted to being true to The Bible, and he is very careful about his interpretations of scripture.
I read this book once, and then a few days later started all over again - that's how good it is. I have already pre-ordered the second book.
