A must read for teen girls.......2007-10-09
Peach girl is one of the sweetest manga I've ever read.
Having gone through many of the same issues with lost love and back stabbing friends I found myself really bonding with the main character Momo.
Every teen girl should pick up a copy as their next manga must have!
New love, old problems Part 1.......2006-04-14
Momo has had a change of heart. Despite the fact that she had lingering feelings for Toji she has moved on and is now in a relationship with Kiley, the man who helped her through all of her prior romantic grief. Things are not as wonderful as they should be though. Momo's former friend (and enemy) Sae is on the warpath, trying to insinuate herself into Momo's life again by supplanting nasty rumors about her and Kiley, while rubbing into Momo's face that she and Toji are dating.
To make matters stranger there is a bizarre interlude with Nurse Misao that has left Momo skeptical about Kiley's feelings. When he says Misao and his older brother used to be an item is he really telling the whole truth? And what's worse, why does he have an old photo of a woman that may be Misao and him? And who is the strange girl that Kiley is meeting up with in the bookstore in secret?
I'm so happy, "Peach Girl" is back in all of it's angst y goodness. And this series proves to be better than ever. I am so utterly excited that not only are Momo and Kiley dating (finally) but that we now get to have an insight on who Kiley really is...and he seems to be much deeper vessel than we formerly gave him credit for. This playful individual has a dark side and a past and now that Momo is getting to know him better we finally get to venture into that side of him. Joy. On the other hand Toji has diminished into the shadows, but I am certain he will resurface, most likely whenever Sae plans something nasty on Momo.
Fans of Peach Girl rejoice... the second series is as good as the first, thus far.
Peach Girl Forever!.......2003-11-02
The amazing series continues in the original Japanese format! I don't want to spoil what's goin on but this is my favorite manga series of them all as a great cheesy teen romance that keeps you hooked right in the story! I highly, highly, highly, recommend this manga and I'm pretty convinced if you buy it you'll enjoy it.
It's finally happened!.......2003-05-03
Momo and Kiley are together! Kiley remains a true Wily-Kiley with his interest in Momo, but he definitely shows his sweet-side throughout the book. And, as always, he's the character which makes the comic funny and worth reading. Sae takes a back seat in this volume, appearing (I believe) only once, but we find our villain when Kiley's old girlfriend shows up...and appears ready to reclaim him. We learn some of Kiley's past in this volume, and also get a deeper side to him, as well. This Volume will leave you craving the next, seeking resolve to the many new mysteries which surface in this book. This volume (and in fact, the entire series) is probably one of the most re-readable. I frequently pick it up and read it all again, unlike some of my other manga, which is good one time through, then gets old.
This volume is written in the original right-to-left format. The benefit of this is that none of the artwork has been flipped, or altered. The downside is that, if this is your first encounter with this style, you will most likely get confused and dizzy trying to figure out the order by which to read the panels (but don't worry, you get used to it after a few pages or so, and there is instructions in the book).
My favourite manga!.......2003-03-14
Peach Girl is my favourite of all manga. It has such an intersting story line, interesting characters and AMAZING art. Miwa Ueda has real talent for showing emotions throw Japanese Anime. I have volume 3, and have read one and two, and I could read them back to back, over and over. I can't get enough!

My friend the enemy, part 1.......2006-04-13
Momo Adachi is a typical high school girl with all sorts of problems. For a start she likes a boy who doesn't know she exists, for another thing he once said he didn't like girls with dark skin... and the biggest problem is that Momo (which means peach in Japanese) tans at an abnormally fast rate. This does all sorts of negative things for her self esteem, particularly since her tan gives her a "beach bunny" image that has earned her a reputation as the school slut by her female peers despite the fact that she has never even been kissed.
Another factor undermining her ego is her best friend (excuse me..."friend") Sae Kashiwagi. Sae is a typical beauty, small and petite and with creamy white skin so fair Momo feels awkward with her. Even though Momo views their friendship as special and intimate she doesn't know that Sae really despises her, so much so that she is constantly going after the things that Momo wants. This ranges from clothes and handbags to the men that Momo admires. So of course when Sae learns that Momo likes a boy in their class Momo decides to tell her it's a boy named Kiley Okayasu, a flirtatious, loquacious, handsome young man... the real object of desire that Momo has wanted since middle school is a taciturn and sensitive man name Kazuya Tojikamori (Toji, for short).
When Sae learns of Momo's "feelings" for Kiley the first thing she immediately does is go after him. The problem is that once she does this Kiley starts to behave as is he actually cares for Momo, even going so far as to brag he kissed her in a beach incident that happened a few years prior. Suddenly though Toji is starting to take notice of Momo and her new "relationship" and Sae is still doing everything she can to stir the muck between the three.
The story is obviously bittersweet. Momo's friendships are not concrete and at any moment they are likely to blow up in her face. Sae is the perfect enemy, one who constantly has to validate her own ego by messing with the one person who makes her the most jealous and poses the biggest threat. Sae reminds me of every two faced snotty person I ever encountered in high school, and that makes this manga read truer than many I have perused recently. Kiley is adorable, of course. He is the typical attainable guy who will, in my mind, have issues later on that make him a deeper person (men of this sort always seem bright and bubbly on the surface, until one gets to know them). Toji is succinct almost to a point of brooding, but he surprises us all when after all of his defending Momo we discover that he has feelings for her... and Momo... Momo is an every woman. She is all of us, every single one of us who has ever second guessed ourselves or questioned decisions we have made because we weren't quite sure about our strengths and our worth... I am loving this first volume, and plan to read more... it just saddens me that (so far) no one seems to be into this series. This is a great storyline, one that will resound with many people.
Cute and funny..........2004-06-04
Peach Girl is an odd concept really, I mean we're following the love escapades of a girl whom is naturally blonde and tan in a world where everyone has dark hair and non-tan skin haha(Unless they fake'n'bake). Momo can't help it, she hates the way she looks. Now in the U.S. someone like Momo would be considered an absolute babe, but obviously in Asia, they have different standards of beauty.
So in this volume Momo has to deal with a backstabbing friend whom copies everything she does and tries to steals all the guys from Momo's life. Any guy that seems to take interest in Momo or/and that Momo likes. All Momo wants to do is look normal and get some friends who are'nt total (...) and because Momo is so insecure about the way she looks she doesn't realize all the guys that like her. its kind of fun to get some insight into the life of the "hot" girl. All girls are insecure about the way they look, especially the ones we consider hot.
Of course "Peach Girl" isn't deep, its a whole LOT OF FLUFFY SHOUJO!!! If you like fluffy shoujo then you'll love Peach Girl no doubt.!
God Bless & *enjoy* ~Amy
Good book, but some minor flaws........2003-11-04
I really like Peach Girl. I've read most of the first series, and the first three of the Change of Heart, and although I really do like it, it has some minor flaws I'd like to point out.
Peach Girl is a very good manga, but it is not "the greatest manga ever." First of all, Momo (the main character) is disliked because she is beautiful. Think about that for a second. Does that really make any sense? Yes, in a superifcal sense. Second of all, if Momo doesn't like to be harassed so much by guys and gossiped about by girls, maybe she should stop wearing revealing clothing. Just a thought.
I also have a problem with one of the statements I read as a summary of Peach Girl. "It's not easy being beautiful." Uh huh, like I'd know. Do they really think it's O.K. to say that? I know being beautiful isn't everything, but it's hard to connect with what Momo is going through when she is drop-dead-gorgeous.
Overall, this is a really good manga. How Momo treats Sae has helped me deal with "real life" Saes and gossip. The plot is also intresting, and the characters have *flaws*! They're not prefect, like in some mangas. Anyone who likes corny romances, or watching high school life, will love Peach Girl. Even my friend liked it, and she hates romcances. Go figure.
Really cute.......2003-08-04
I used to read Sweet Valley High in junior high school and I picked this up because the drawings caught my eye. It seems like an illustrated Sweet Valley high sometimes, but that's okay. When I look back, those books were actually decent for kids to read because although they did take a kind of dramatic soap opera type form, the characters did usually do the right thing and they respected themselves and their bodies. Elizabeth and Jessica never ran around sleeping with everyone in sight, or with anyone, actually. So they were decent bubble gum type role models. This book seems to take a similar attitude towards such things, although it looks at [physical attraction]in a sometimes different way, it's hard to say exactly how. It's a cultural thing, I think.
Anyways, It's really amusing. I love it when the comics take really ridiculously comic form, like when Sae is throwing herself at Toji (she goes to such lengths as to trip him in the hallway with a wire and stuff). Sometimes Sae turns into a paper doll and sometimes Sae develops road runner legs when she's running after Toji or someone else and I find that hilarious. When the characters are drawn realistically, they are drawn well. Momo has huge eyes and vulnerable facial expressions that are just adorable, and as much care is taken with the guys. I thought Goro was especially well drawn, even though he is [not popular].

Promising, perhaps, but can it live up to the original?.......2006-12-17
After reading the first series, I am almost afraid that this spin-off will not have the intensity that the original did. Of course I can't really say that after reading just the first book of the series, but we'll see. Sae hasn't really learned, after all, so she's bound to keep us entertained.
Finally! A Story focused around Sae!.......2006-03-31
I read this story...well, OK, so my japanese fluent friend read it to me. Sue me.
I loved this story!!
From the start of Peach Girl I loved Sae and wished there was a book about her. Now there IS!
I won't spoil it, but I would say any fan or foe of Sae's would love this story.

The Romance and the Drama Continues!!.......2007-03-22
The second half of the series continues to deliver the drama and the laughs of the first half. The guys are cute and Kiley is so funny, yet has a hidden sensitive side. The end of the series becomes intense as Sae acts even more devious and manipulative than before. The dramatic conclusion to this delightful and sexy series does not disappoint!
A Peach is Still as Good on Its Second Bite.......2003-02-27
The theme turns a bit more dramatic, but still keeps the reader entertained with its simple charming plot of Momo's love triangle. Just as good as the first with beauitful animation.
Still Pretty Peachy.......2003-01-17
Poor Momo still can't seem to catch a break. Every time it looks like things between her and Toji are smoothed out, the diabolical Sae appears to muss things up. But if volume 1 was a pretty close representation of the mixed up love-life of a high school teen, volume 2 is a tawdry melodrama; lots of crying bouts, cat fights, and some really stupid actions by Momo drag down what should be a lighthearted read.
Sae's still up to her relationship-wrecking mischief, but her plans aren't as clever as before and require a lot of leaps of faith on the readers part to believe they could be pulled off so letter perfect. She also seems a lot more malicious; we all know she doesn't want Toji and Momo together but now its starting to border on obsession.
Toji seems to have misplaced his brain somewhere between books, because he's a complete and utter idiot when it comes to Sae's manipulations and, as Momo so eloquently puts it, "On what planet do boys rehearse kissing their girlfriends by practicing on other women?". The boy is a twit and if Momo weren't so hopelessly infatuated she'd see that.
The absolute saving grace of the story is the wily Kiley. Despite being completely lovestruck, he's willing to help Momo win her man because he doesn't want to see her hurt. Equal parts comic relief and voice of reason, he's an all-around sweetheart that keeps the plot's fizz from going totally flat.
While not as frenetic and fun as volume 1, Peach Girl 2 is still a good read, despite the annoying soap opera flourishes
not great at ALL.......2002-12-22
Why in the WORLD do people love thsi so much? The plot IS innovative, but that's where it ends. It is completely unrealistic, and the art is NOT gorgeous but only so-so. Maybe I've been brain-washed by Yuu Watase's artwork, but if you really want a great manga, I suggest Ayashi no Ceres (Ceres: Celestial Legend).
Diffenately one of my favorite manga!.......2002-02-05
I'm a big manga reader and my latest read, Peach Girl, is diffenately my favorite. Miwa Ueda's characters are wonderful! You can't help but root for Momo, loathe Sae, and love Kiley. Kiley is the absolute best! I love him! ^_^. The plot is very good, twists and turns that keep your eyes glued to the page.
Since I've read many manga before, Miwa Ueda's art style turned me off at first. Her style is more realistic than most and can seem weird to a lot of people, it did to me at first. Once I started reading the style grew on me, now I love it! This is diffenately a book that you shouldn't judge by the cover.

Book Description
The dastardly Sae has gone too far! First she sabotaged Momo's blossoming relationship with Toji, now she's trying to embarrass Momo in front of the school at the swim meet. Can anyone help Momo? Well, "Wiley" Kiley seems eager to help, but can Momo trust that he's really looking out for her best interests, and not just trying to get into her pants? And poor Toji-will he ever see through Sae's veil of lies and be able to trust Momo? The Peach Girl soap opera gets is about to get a little meaner in volume 3 of Miwa Ueda's high school drama.
Customer Reviews:
My friend the enemy, part 2.......2006-04-13
After Toji's kiss Momo has mixed feelings. She wants to have enjoyed the moment, but her emotions are clouded by Sae's warnings that he is just a lecherous pervert, so she feels wrong about it all. But a surprise visit from Toji at Momo's home in the evening goes a long way to restore her faith in him...until Sae begins to unsettle everything again. She's pulling out every weapon in her arsenal to besmirch Momo's reputation, including telling Toji that a newly formed bruise on her cheek is from Momo hitting her after she saw Sae and Toji kissing one another.
The two want to make up, but with Sae's poisonous words entering both of their brains it becomes difficult to do. Suddenly, Toji is not coming to school and Momo is concerned that it might be because of their fight, though the rest of the class knows it's because he has appendicitis. When Kiley is the one to tell her the truth she rushes to Toji's side, to find Sae already there. Then things just go from bad to worse.
I am really starting to appreciate the subtle nuances of character development in this series. Momo is strong despite her self issues, and manages to stand up for herself often...just at the wrong times, usually when Sae has spent time blackening her name and Momo's reactions predictably follow the pattern of Sae's machinations. Sae is scheming, manipulative, conniving, and has no originality to her whatsoever... and yet she still manages to dominate a number of people in the story. Toji is hard to be sympathetic with at times, true he is being manipulated and doesn't know who to trust, however he is quick to believe the bad in people, so naturally he falls into Sae's scheming. And then there's Kiley, who though he is a lecher seems to be the one who legitimately cares about Momo... he is always there when she needs him, he is always worried about her feelings, but she is so quick to blow him off because of her "idealized" crush on Toji for too long... given the choice between the two I would have chosen Kiley long before this point...at least he is genuine and caring and accepts Momo with all her flaws that he never seems to see.
Overall, I am quickly getting addicted to this manga. This is high school angst at its juiciest, and I plan on reading the rest of the series as soon as is humanly possible.
The best yet.......2002-10-15
I gave this volume of the Peach Girl series five stars because it is the best of the first three. When the story starts, Sae has finally gotten what she wants; Momo and Toji have broken up. As if this is not enough, she enters Momo in the end of term swim meet... in every event. Not only will Momo be tanner than ever, but she will probably exhaust herself competing. To top it all off, Momo's classmates are crueler than ever. It's Kiley to the rescue, looking out for Momo no matter what... and all he wants in exchange is a ...hug?
The first part of this series comes to a grand climax in the last scene of this manga. For all Peach fans rooting for Momo, your heart will break and then you will cheer... buy the book if you want to know what I'm talking about. It will be well worth it.
Peach Girl #3.......2002-08-06
I'll try not to write a review with any spoilers in it, but you really do have to have read the first two novels in order to understand what's going on in this book. I buy the Peach Girl manga for two reasons: 1) the story is so close to highschool reality, that most of the time, it's hard not to understand what the characters are going through, and 2) Miwa Ueda's artwork is absolutely beautiful! Continuing from the last book, in part three, Sae is still working to make Momo's life a living hell, and there are few people who Momo can really trust anymore. Toji is beginning to smarten up, and Momo is being more friendly to Kiley. If you liked the previous two books, there's no reason why you shouldn't like this one.
And so the plot thickens..........2002-06-02
Great! Toji finally gets a clue, Kiley finally gets a hug, and Sae finally gets her comeuppance! It didn't quite satisfy my lust for vengeance, because Momo really does get terribly abused and I feel Sae should at least be hit by a truck, but there you have it. I also feel some crueler punishment for Toji is in order, as I harbor a deep grudge against him for his previous actions in books 1 and 2, but we'll see how it goes in book 4. Tantalizing and full of poignant moments, as well as some funny ones.
Impressive from start to end........2002-04-28
This was my favorite of the three published Peach Girl manga. The ending was satisfying, and they had a lot of good Kiley moments! If he's your favorite character, you'll love him more this time around.
In a way, this could be the end of the series, but there are a lot of unfinished questions, which you'll discover in the end of the book. If you thought that Momo ended up the underdog in the first two, you'll be satisfied with this one.
