Awesome book about development and food!.......2007-01-03
The title isn't totally what the book is about. This book has so many great points on development and food and the relation between the two and speech development. Not only that but it goes into autism and other special need children and coping with food and development related to food. I love her no nonsense...no emotion approach to food. Its filled with recommendations on other books and readings, recipes, as well as actualy clients storys she has worked with to help the reader relate.

Heartbreaker.......2002-08-11
This book started a little slowly, but built to one of the more complex and interesting love stories I've read in a while. Treasure is a wonderful heroine, who heals the troubled hero by perserverance and pluck. Hats off to Betina Krahn who has created an original pair of remarkable characters. This book is highly recommended. :-)
A beautifully written unique love story.......2002-06-01
Before you buy this book you should know it was previously published as "Passion's Treasure." This is a bad thing that publishers do and this practice should not be allowed. But if you missed "Passion's Treasure" and can't find it, this is a book worth reading. It is an unusual story about a child prodigy, a Thinker, who crosses paths with a heartless young squire. How they change and enrich each other's lives is a fast-paced, often humorous (not silly) passionate tale. Treasure Barrett is a thoroughly delightful heroine and Sterling Renville is a masterful interesting young man, even when he is at his worst. Since this is the first novel of Betina Krahn's I have read I have nothing of hers to compare it with, but I did order all of her books based on this one. This author can write. There are some Romance writers who tell good stories and others who can write. This one does it all.

Reon Laudat has written a powerful story sure to capture your heart. .......2007-02-23
Michelle works as a journalist for the Manhattan Business Journal in New York. Shejust finished putting the finishing touches on a major story about Stanford Chapelle, CEO of Luxor Enterprises. This story would make her career, and then she receives the phone call that questions her ethics and sends her life and career into a tailspin.
Wesley Abbott is a reporter for the Detroit Herald in Michigan. His brother, Patrick, serving time in a correction facility, and his parents are nagging him to take his niece, Kelly, on the four-hour trip to visit with Patrick. Wesley's twenty-seven years old and still has no interest in committing to any woman. He adores women, just hasn't found the right one yet.
Michelle's life is going down the tubes fast. Her friend, Courtney Banks, crashed her date and stole the man away. That's one friendship down the drain. The story she was working on is shelved because of false accusations. She's forced to take a leave of absence from her job in New York, return to her hometown of Detroit and take a job at the Herald in the features department. The only upside she can see is that she'll be able to spend more time with her family.Wesley is already late for work. He was cursing himself for spending the night with Brynn before he broke it off with her. He should have gone to bed alone since he knew he'd have a long workday ahead of him. Now he's rushing to make it to work before a scheduled phone interview. Discovering another car in the slot he paid good money to park in was not a good thing... until he sees the woman getting out of that car.
Reon Laudat has written a powerful story sure to capture your heart. IF YOU JUST SAY YES grabs a hold of you from the very first sentence and doesn't let go until the very end. The characters are so "real" you just want to reach out and hug them. I was even able to feel their emotions as I read through the pages.

Love Conquers All.......2005-04-09
Michele is a smart, sexy, sophisticated and career driven woman. Her life quickly turns into a daytime drama similar to her favorite If Tomorrow Never Comes, when accusations of unethical conduct surface in her reporting tactics for the Manhattan Business Journal. Michele transfers to a local paper in her hometown where the soap opera continues and the plot thickens.
Wesley Abbott is a ladies man in the purest sense of the term. He is smooth, suave and good looking. No woman has been able to hold and keep his attention for long. That is until a reporter from an associate paper walks into the newsroom where he works as investigative reporter. Wesley is taken aback by the confidence and sophistication that Michele exudes. A man accustomed to having his way, he pursues her until she relents.
There is corruption brewing in the court system and Wesley, being the investigative reporter that he is, sets out to expose the wrongdoings of court officials. Michele, missing the excitement of big story reporting, enlists herself in Wesley's cause and along the way uncovers a jaw-dropping conflict that could tear them apart.
IF YOU JUST SAY YES is a nicely written romance with a twist of mystery. Laudat gave Michele and Wesley the perfect balance of tension and sexual energy. The subplots gave the characters definition and tied together well to round out the storyline. I love a romance with a little something extra on the side.

Easy to say "YES".......2005-02-03
Once again Ms. Laudat has taken me on a joy ride, this time in the front seat. This was a true romance, where the characters didn't play games, keeping their feelings right where they needed to be, out front and in the open.
I laughed, I teared up, but all in all, it was a feel good story, that left me wanting more.......can't wait from the next ride.......
fine romantic suspense .......2005-02-02
Katherine Chapelle threatens business reporter Michelle Michaels of the Manhattan Business Journal with the destruction of her career for having an affair with her spouse CEO millionaire Stanford. Michelle denies anything beyond friendship insisting to her editor Larry Morgan that Stanford is old enough to be her grandfather. Larry feels ethics was broken and arranges for Michelle to be reassigned to a sister paper, the Detroit Herald. This may be a homecoming for Michelle, but it feels like a major step backwards.
Though innocent of any ethical lapses, Michelle understands image is critical to a journalist and so vows to not end up remotely in any situation that gives the wrong impression because her goal is to return to New York City. However, investigative reporter Wesley Abbott pressures Michelle to play with him. Though she wants too, Michelle refuses even as Wesley dangles and ultimately persuades her to work with him on a case of official corruption in the court system.
Though the investigation takes a while to gel into an intriguing corruption based legal procedural investigation, fans of romantic suspense will appreciate this fine contemporary novel. The match-up between the lead characters is terrific with a player and a burned victim battling attraction in different ways. Readers will say yes to Rene Laudat's quality romance.

Man, I wish I could say more!.......2003-08-24
This book had one of the funniest parts in it that I have ever seen(read). And believe me, I have read a lot of books. Unfortuanately, the hilarious part is at the very end of the book, and I can't say anything more! All I'll let myself say is that it is Peter's birthday present. Ooh, I hate silence! You HAVE to read this, but only after reading the whole series, otherwise, it won't make sense. This book, and this series is amazing. I love how it has a Christian base, but for the nonChristians out there, it is not too uncomfortable. I, however, am a born-again believer, and proud of it.
(All of the Clearwater Crossing books are 5-star).......2002-10-10
These books are great! My Mom bought me #10 thinking it would be a good book for me to read, but little did she know that these books are the most addictive things I have ever read. If you haven't read them, read them!!! They are truly worth it.
This book is great...as are all the rest.......2001-11-21
Just let me begin by saying that you should definitely read these books. I am a satirical writer and originally picked one of them ("Skin Deep") up thinking that it might be something I would be able to lampoon, but instead I found myself incredibly interested in the lives of each character - in particular, Nicole Brewster and Melanie Andrews. Since then I have read every single book in the series and am currently enduring a practically unbearable wait for #20. In a word - these books are great! Oh, wait, that's four words. Oh, well.
A Terrific Read, Once Again.......2001-06-29
I have read all of the series so far, and this book reminded me of why I liked them to begin with. If you have read all of the CC books, then you'll love this one. I was dissappointed with the last couple of books because it seemed like everything was going down-hill. We hardly ever heard Miguel's, Ben's, or Jesse's perspective and it seemed like all of the characters were becoming depressed or dull. But it seems like things are finally starting to look up. But we all know that won't last too long.
The thing I like best about this book and series is that it has Christian values at its core without being preachy or unbelievable. You can relate to the characters because they go through confusing times and REAL issues just like teens today. It's so refreashing to read about things other than "boy loves girl, boy and girl break up, boy and girl get back together."
BEWARE: The only bad thing about the series is that the books are highly addictive. They end in suspenseful cliff-hangers making it almost impossible to wait for the next book to come out. I just hope the series continues a bit longer despite a couple of the characters heading off to college.
A reader.......2001-03-27
I love these clearwater crossing books. There so good, this one was one of the best. I just hope that Melanie and Jesse will be together by the end of the clearwater crossing series. I also wish that Ben would learn to act his age, and I hope things will start going better for the Junior Explorers camp.

Adorable. Just adorable........2005-10-11
Cassie is a very believable heroine, and Geoffrey is everything a girl could want. "Just Say Yes" is definitely fluff, but it's also very entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
a nice novel but..........2005-09-29
Actually, I liked this story. Geoffrey, our hero, the faux steward of his brother-in-law's estate, and our heroine, Cassie, the last remaining unmarried daughter (age 27) of the local vicar, was a nice evolving story. Geoffrey, who is to be a Duke when his father passes on, fights his growing attraction to the sweet, sunny Cassie. He realizes that she knows zilch about society, how to be a furture Dutchess with its responsibilities and in charge of a large estate. How would she deal with the Ton and his peers in Parliment? All very important issues for him but love is love and he wants his girl. While the stories twists, the dogs, the trial, the discovery that Geoffery was not just a steward, were not super exciting, it flowed and the vivid descriptions of the time, place and characters was enjoyable to read. But I do have an issue with the ending in that it ended to early with Cassie finally saying "yes". With all Geoffrey's, his fathers and Cassie's concerns about how she would deal with being a Lady and the Ton, it would have been reasonable for the author to take us say one year into the future in an epilogue and play it out for us, the readers. Was she a success? Was she comfortable? Did she learn to go on and enjoy it or did she hole up in the country? When a reader invests time and money in a story, it should be completed.
Simple and slight.......2005-08-24
Geoffrey Dorton is the new steward of Lord Marchborn's estate, but he is not what he seems. He is, in fact, Geoffrey Dorrington, Earl of Cheriton and heir to the Duke of Passmore. He has previously been the usual careless young sprig about Town, but now is eager to have a purpose in life.
The book opens with his dog related meeting with Cassie Hartwell, last unmarried daughter to the local vicar. Her mother is desperate to marry her off, but Cassie is unconcerned regarding her single state. However, that all changes once the handsome new steward arrives and Mrs. Hartwell is none too pleased. Especially as she has been making other arrangements with the local squire regarding his unappealing nephew Rodney Gilbert.
A very unexciting, if sweet tale on an old, old theme. Cassie is a nice girl and that's about it, despite the paens of Geoffrey and most of the inhabitants of the area regarding her goodness, sweetness and lightness.
The slight plot twist is frankly silly. Cassie betrays her lack of wits by stealing Rodney's pack of hounds one night after she sees him hit one of them. Alas, such a crime in this period would be shockingly serious. Englishmen and their legal system were very hardheaded indeed on the topic of stealing. She plunks herself square into a mess and rather nastily in fact expects Geoffrey to get her out of it.
The foxhound digression apart, the tale was slight. The background characters were almost caricatures, especially Mrs. Hartwell.
A pleasant amusement, but dull at bottom.
Delightful debut.......2005-08-23
Thanks to Amazon's review system and "Friends and Favorites", I bought this delightful regency novel, when I might otherwise not have done so.
Although the plot is basic and not filled with much action, the well written and developed main characters, a beautifully drawn setting, some humor, and a fair amount of realism on the part of the hero, Geoffrey, and heroine, Cassie make this novel a delight to read.
Geoffrey Dorrington, Earl of Cheriton and heir to the Duke of Passmore, has been rescued from a life of dissipation in London by his brother-in-law Lord Marchbourn, who has taken him back to his country estate and interested him in learning proper estate management. Now Marchbourn has inherited an estate, in the parish of Vicar Hartwell, Cassie's father. Geoffrey, wanting to prove his capabilities, goes to set it order; and because he wants to see what he can accomplish without the deference due to his title, styles himself plain Mr. Dorton, land steward.
Neither Geoffrey nor Cassie is expecting the attraction they feel, and the plot develops as we watch them cope with it. The tension arises because Geoffrey knows that Cassie, as a country vicar's daughter is "unsuitable" as a potential bride for the heir to a dukedom and does his best to behave in an honorable fashion given this reality. Cassie, believing that Geoffrey is a land steward, sees no impediment in developing her acquaintance with him, except for the interfering ways of her mother. Her mother is pushing the claims of the local squire's nephew and heir, Rodney who Cassie knew as a teenager and disliked intensely; Rodney has not improved with age! Throw in a few dogs, and several interesting secondary characters and proceed to enjoy.
Highly recommended for those who enjoy their romances centered around character and not ACTION. I look forward to subsequent efforts by this author.
Just say yes to Just Say Yes.......2005-08-17
At seven and twenty, Cassie Hartwell is firmly on the shelf. Nevertheless, her mama sees one last chance to marry her off. Her mama's bachelor-of-choice, Rodney Gilbert, was unpleasant when Cassie knew him as a child. She can't imagine he's changed. Cassie is content with her life as a country lass, making friends with all the neighborhood dogs.
That is... until she meets Geoffrey Dorton, the new steward of a local lord. Mr. Dorton is handsome and charming, and his kisses are unlike anything she ever imagined.
But Geoffrey has a secret. He's not Geoffrey Dorton, he's actually Geoffrey Dorrington, Earl of Cheriton. And Cassie, as much as he likes her, is just a vicar's daughter. She's no match for a future duke.
I enjoyed "Just Say Yes" very much. It was charming & fun, and the dog scenes reminded me of something out of a Barbara Metzger book. It did get a bit slow at times (especially after a certain dog plot comes into play), but it's still a solid 4 stars. You've got to love a heroine with a name like Caspar Whittley Maria Hartwell!
