As a result of extensive research into the role of water in the body, the author, a medical doctor, believes that he has found chronic dehydration to be the cause of many conditions including asthma, allergies, arthritis, angina, migraine headaches, hypertension, raised cholesterol, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, depression, and diabetes in the elderly.
According to Dr. Batmanghelidj, the body possesses many different thirst signals. A dry mouth is not a reliable indicator of your body's water needs. He describes a variety of more reliable ones, and helps you learn to understand when your body is calling for water. In this way, he claims you can prevent, treat, and cure a variety of conditions of ill health, at no cost, with what he calls nature's miracle medicine: Water. The author explains how much water one needs to drink a day to stay healthy, and why tea, coffee, and sodas are not good substitutes for water.
Book Description

Batmanghelidj, M.D., has identified the crisis calls of the body for water --pain, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and more. He shares with you his medical breakthrough that many people put their minds and bodies under intolerable and unecessary stress and become sick simply because they do not drink enough water. Unintentional dehydration leads to illness and painful, degenerative diseases that can be prevented, treated, and cure by drinking plenty of water.
You will learn how to use water to:
* Prevent and reverse premature aging
* Eliminate pains including heartburn, back pain, arthritis, colitis pain, anginal pain, migraine headaches
* Cure asthma in a few days, naturally and forever
* Cure hypertension without diuretics or other medication
* Lose weight effortlessly and naturally, without strict dieting
Customer Reviews:
The book has nothing more to offer than its title!.......2007-10-08
I was so disappointed in this book. The author spends more time haranging doctors and insurance companies than providing useful insights on water usage. He sounds soured to the industry and the only meaningful thing I found he had to say was in the title. For those of you who haven't bought the book, just read the title, its free and great advice! Drink water!! Yes!!
Too technical.......2007-08-27
The book was filled with very good information, however, unless you're in the medical field or somewhat familiar with medical lingo, I would not recommend this book. This book is filled with 98% medical jargon and reasons our bodies need constant replenishment of water and 5% of actual information on what we can do about it. I can summarize the book in this sentence and save you money "drink plenty of water, even when you're not thirsty. Years of dehydration can and may be taking a toll on your body".
How to get healthy without a lot of meds.......2007-08-08
This book explains in fairly non-technical terms how water is used in the body, brain, circulatory system, etc. I never realized how important it was to drink plenty of water. This author makes it abundantly clear. My new water-drinking regimen has also helped me lose 5 pounds without really trying. Terrific book. Chapters on diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Anything the reader is concerned about in terms of health. Truly informative.
yikes.......2007-07-23
Like others have said, over drinking water can make you sick. It forces minerals out including potassium which can make you constipated. The book fiber menace suggests unnatural water drinking (when not thirsty) is a cause of chronic constipation. Too much water can also cause general overhydration problems which are many (edema, sodium problems). According to some you need at most 4 8 oz glasses of fluid a day (that includes even diaretics like cucumbers and coffee) unless you are sweating a lot - some suggest food alone can cover this amount. See:
http://www.snopes.com/medical/myths/8glasses.asp
We have a thirst mechanism for a reason. We are animals not robots. If you are sick or old, then water intake should be monitored not just for dehydration concerns, but because you wouldn't want to drink too much in that state. The body and its thirst mechanism have been serving humans well for millions of years - long before $cience came along.
Your Body's Many Cries for Water.......2007-05-19
This is an excellent book. It may be a bit too technical for some.
I would refer them to " You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty."
I do not agree with him that tap water is an acceptable form of water. Then again, this book was written in the early 1990's.

Customer Reviews:
Great book - Straight-forward Advice.......2007-08-13
Dig Your Well... is full of great advice and real-world situations which make Harvey Mackay one of my favorite authors. He is well-networked and likeable, showing that building a network of trusted friends, advisors and business associates is valuable for success at any career level.

A good network is critical to success - read this book to build a solid one........2007-07-09
Dig Your Well Before You're Thirsty is one of the best networking books I have read ("Never Eat Alone" is another great one) and one of the most important books for anyone who wishes to get ahead. Having a solid network of people will do more for your career advancement than almost anything you can do. Harvey Mackay list the top-ten most important things a network can do. Here are a five of those:
1) A network replaces the weakness of the individual with the strength of the group
2) A network can enrich your life anywhere in the world
3) A network can help you help others
4) Job security? Don't rely on the corporation. Rely on your network
5) A network expands your financial reach infinitely
Mackay goes in great detail on how to build solid networks by adding value to others and keeping in touch. He believes that the most valuable tool in your office is your Rolodex. Harvey Mackay certainly knows what he is talking about, not only does he write books and give speeches, he has built an incredible company, in the envelope business, with over 100 million in annual revenue. He did this by learning EVERYTHING he could possibly know about his clients, not just their order history and size of company, but also the owners favorite sport, team, children's names, ages, spouse's name, where they grew up, what they are passionate about, what they are proud of, etc, etc. In this book he teaches us how to ask for that information, how to maintain the data fresh and how to use it to grow our networks.
My favorite quote from the book is: "No salesperson who knew the names of his customer's kids ever went broke." This is as true as: No person who reads this book and applies its principles will ever go broke. Enjoy!
Networking Leads To Opportunity.......2007-05-15
Harvey Mackay is a master of networking. All of his books stress the importance of professionals focusing on how to make, keep and grow their business relationships.....in this book it the the whole enchillada.
Although I read the book years ago, it is still a wonderful reference for me, now that I speak on the topic. I have learned much from Mr. Mackay, and this book is a must read for anyone who wants to make networking a higher priority.
You will love this book as a networking beginner.......2007-04-30
I have to say, although I have gotten my Ph.D. degree in computer science and have worked around 3 years, I am a beginner in term of networkig (not the computer network). As a beginner, I really love this book because it answers the following questions using real and good stories:
1. What is the network.
2. Who should be in the network.
3. How to meet a new people and make him/her part of your network.
4. How to let others to remember you.
5. Where to start your networking.
6. How to keep your network.
I really enjoy it.
Overall pretty good, just a little too much fluff.......2007-04-13
Overall pretty good, just a little too much fluff. The book in made up of about a 100 short stories about good and bad networking tips. About 70% is pretty good, while the other 30% is fluff. Still a good read.

Great Use of A Refreshing Metaphor!.......2007-04-26
Though I do not agree with many of his conclusions in some of his other writings, I found this work very helpful. I truly enjoyed his use of the water metaphor and all is applications. A good read.
Come Thirsty by Max Lacado.......2007-03-14
The book is very good easy reading. Had great service getting book actualy came a bit ahead of when it was to arrive. I would have liked to have had an easier time getting multiple books to the same address for only one shipping cost. I think it can be done, but is a difficult program for ordering it is not user friendly.

You not Sick, you're just thirsty.......2007-09-26
The book was very informative and the research he did on dehydration and the effect on one's health was stunning, to say the least. One's entire bodily functions depend sooo much on water and salt to operate properly.
This book will change the way we depend so much on prescription drugs. Everyone should read this wonderful book on body maintenance.
Life-changing.......2007-09-05
The information in this book literally changed my life. For the last six months, up until two weeks ago, I thought I was dying. Blood-pressure through the roof. Dizzy spells. Exhausted. Severe headaches.
Somehow, I found this book and immediately started applying the principles. Now, after two weeks, my blood-pressure, while not totally in a normal range, is almost there. I've got my energy back. No more headaches. No more dizzy spells.
And it's so easy.
flabbergasting.......2007-08-06
A fantastic book which for the first time , for me, explained the physiological background of dehydration and why water is not exchangable for any other fluids
EXCELLENT!!
1st step to better health.......2007-06-28
This book is was beneficial. As a two time cancer survivor I learned a lot about the impact water has on your body. After my third out of fourth treatment (round one) I was told to drink one gallon of water during the first two days after chemo and then half a gallon the rest of the time in order to "flush the kidneys" of the toxins from chemo (because if I didn't they would crystalize in my organs). My doctor said since the chemo goes into your blood stream first you won't "water down" the chemo by drinking so much. I faithfully began drinking the large amounts (even though it was extremly hard.) I gave it a try and I truly could endure my last two treatments. Although I have had a recurrance, the second treatment went smoothly with little illness. I drank water from the start and finished strongly. It will be almost two years since my last bout with the stupid disease. I believe that good spring or purified water is the best, however, maintaing a healthy balance in eating and exercising are important. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING I LEARNED WAS TO ALLOW GOD TO BE GOD AND THANK HIM FOR EVERY MOMENT HE GIVES YOU- WE ARE ALL APOINTED A TIME TO DIE, BUT BE VIGILANT AND NOT FOOLISH IN THE DAYS YOU ARE GIVEN.
Water: For Health, for Healing, for Life: You're Not Sick, You're Thirsty!.......2007-05-19
I would recommend this book for anyone who is interested in becoming healthy & remaining healthy.
I do not agree that TAP WATER is healthy & would recommend people drink
filtered water. I would also caution them to only use #1 or #2 plastic for bottles.
Book Description
"Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give will never be thirsty. The water I give will become a spring of water gushing up inside that person, giving eternal life." (John 4:13-14 NCV)
Like the woman at the well, we recognize our need for living water. We need moisture, a swallow of water, a long, quenching drink. But where do we find water for the soul? We find it at the
W-E-L-L.

If you are buying the text of "Come Thirsty" do not waste your money on the leaders guide. It is completely redundant. Additionally, the initial text has study questions in the back. The guide is not necessary.

Book Description
When the Divine Feminine instructed Sue Patton Thoele to "pour water on my women," Thoele set about writing a book to provide women with spiritual sustenance for every area of their lives. The Woman's Book of Spirit is the result of that journey. A leader in the women's spirituality movement, Thoele offers her deepest wisdom in this collection, resulting in a powerful and profound book that can be used in a number of ways. Thoele recommends using it as a sacred feminine oracle by opening it at random, holding it to your heart and "asking your inner wisdom to guide you to the perfect, right entry for you at this moment." It can also be used as a meditation guide, a daily friend, or to answer a specific question.
This is a book to soothe every woman's soul and to strengthen the vital connection to spirit. Chapters include Embodying Heart Energy, Intertwining Soul-Strands, Awakening to Wisdom, and Ascending to Gratitude.
In the chapter Nourishing Our Souls, we learn to be our own lamp, participate in even exchanges of energy with friends, and send guilt down the drain.
Thoele's wisdom is timeless, her organization of it simple, and her voice a natural calling to all of us to take heed. This collection helps us to reconnect with ourselves and the ones we love.
Customer Reviews:
Highly Recommended!.......2006-09-27
"Fundamentally, we are spiritual beings with soul as our essence, our most basic quality. We've forgotten. I continue to forget on a daily basis. Consequently, it seems to me that a huge spiritual lesson for most of us is to remember, to re-evolve into simplicity of spirit, and invite the natural, inherent essence of our Selves back to the fore of our lives, to `become like little children.' I believe women are being called to birth this all important spirit-memory." - From the book
With books like The Woman's Book of Confidence, The Courage to Be Yourself, and The Woman's Book of Courage, psychotherapist Sue Patton Thoele has brought encouragement, inspiration, and rare spiritual wisdom to thousands of readers.
Heeding the call to "pour water upon my women", Thoele has birthed yet another treasure in her book A Woman's Book of Spirit. Using anecdotes from her life, as well as those of her friends and clients, Thoele desires to help moisten and revitalize the hearts of women so they may reclaim the Sacred Feminine Voice within.
Offering 128 meditations spanning ten themes, this book can be consulted for specific topical wisdom, as well as daily devotions or random oracular insight. The ten themes in A Woman's Book of Spirit are:
* Re-Greening Arid Places
* Embodying Heart Energy
* Nourishing Our Souls
* Intertwining Soul-Strands
* Honoring Sacred Rights and Responsibilities
* Creating Spiritual Touchstones
* Awakening to Wisdom
* Enrolling in Saint's School
* Ascending to Gratitude
* Embracing Angels and Other Emissaries
Delving randomly yet deeply in this book, I've found relevant, profound messages from Spirit each and every time. I especially enjoyed Steering Clear of Black Holes (an essay on avoiding energetic vampires), Listening Deeply (about the sacred art of listening), and Soothing Our Hearts (showing how to cradle and comfort a hurting heart).
A Woman's Book of Spirit is rich with sacred Feminine Wisdom, and this 279-page book certainly accomplishes the charge the Universe gave to Thoele to "pour water upon my women". Highly recommended!
A collection of serene meditations for women of all religious backgrounds.......2006-05-03
The Woman's Book Of Spirit is a collection of serene meditations for women of all religious backgrounds. Each of the meditations are 1-2 pages in length, and all are designed to awaken the wisdom and knowledge within the reader. Divided into categories including: "Embracing Angels and Other Emissaries", "Creating Spiritual Touchstones", "Nourishing Our Souls", and much more, The Woman's Book Of Spirit offers refreshment for the drained, weary psyche, and demonstrates how to open oneself up to the breathtaking wonder of the divine. The spiritual suggestions for personal meditation can be contemplated one at a time over a series of days, or all at once. Highly recommended.

Book Description
"Entertaining, disturbing, memorable, and sophisticated, this mortality tale will continue to haunt after the last pages are turned." — SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL
All Chris really wants is to be a normal kid, to hang out with his friends, avoid his parents, and get a date with Rebecca Schwartz. Unfortunately, Chris appears to be turning into a vampire. So while his hometown performs an ancient ritual that keeps Tch’muchgar, the Vampire Lord, locked in another world, Chris desperately tries to save himself from his own vampiric fate. He needs help, but whom can he trust? A savagely funny tale of terror, teen angst, suspense, and satire from celebrated FEED author M. T. Anderson.
Customer Reviews:
This Book Sucks (Blood, Of Course).......2007-07-24
One of M.T. Anderson's earlier works, THIRSTY takes the vampire genre into the YA field with aplomb. A tragicomedy of sorts, the book assumes from the get-go that vampires are a part of normal life -- at least in the many real Massachusetts towns named.
High school freshman Chris seems like your everyday teenaged protagonist, but he has a bloody secret that's news even to him -- the vampire-killing festival his hometown stages every year might have more to do with him than he thinks. Thus begins the morality play of a young man who's just discovering he's a young vampire. And as nature urges him relentlessly toward his first kill, his human side with a conscience continually holds him back. It's a painful internal struggle to witness (and helps the suspense factor mightily).
Anderson wisely adds a mystery/thriller element with a higher being called "Chet," who appears before Chris and asks that Chris aid in a gambit to keep the Lord of the Vampires in his prison. When Chris agrees in exchange for the return of his humanity, everything seems cool, but then another "higher being" shows up to argue that "Chet" is in fact a liar who's actually out to aid and abet the Lord of the Vampires. Who to believe, then, becomes a second suspense device.
The characterization and dialogue are well-done and witty. There's Chris' friends, Tom and Jerk. There's Chris' human object of desire, Rebecca Schwartz. There's Chris' vampire object of something-messier-than-desire, Lolli (no, her last name's not "Pop"). There's Mom and Dad (the bewildered Mr. and Mrs. Cleaver sorts). And there's Chris' burgeoning alter ego, the vampire that wants to get out of the closet (coffin?).
Finally, kudos go to Anderson for the ending. Unexpected and deliciously unwrapped, it was both brave and realistic. For teachers and parents who care, there's a degree of profanity, but not so bad that mature 7th and 8th graders can't handle it. A bit raw in stretches, maybe, but overall, I'd say THIRSTY is a bloody good read.
Great Book! but the cliffhanger was painful!.......2007-04-11
I absolutely LOVED (in multi-colored writing *wink*) this book. I devoured it in one day, without stopping. I think that Chris' gradual change between human and vampire was amazing, especially the way that M. T. Anderson described it. The cliffhanger at the end nearly KILLED me though. I wonder if (hope!) he is going to write a sequel. Anyway its a great book for vampire fans, and if your not a vampire fan yet, I bet you will be after reading this.
Still love it..........2006-12-29
I first read this book in 5th or 6th grade, and 5 years later I still love it, which is rare. I must admit: I love M.T. Anderson's work, though this book especially, because I am a vampire fan.
This is not, however, a traditional vampire novel. I take this as a good thing. It follows Chris, your average teenage boy in a small town, who has a crush, and seems to be turning into a vampire. In this alternate world, vampires are part of accepted reality, like car crashes, as, so it seems, are faeries etc. Every year, towns and cities perform ceremonies to ward off the vampires and other bad spirits. However, it seems that the vampires will be trying to break out their lord, Tch'muchgar, while the bonds are being reforged. A celestial being, Chet, has approached Chris, offering to cleanse him of his vampirism if Chris will infiltrate the vampire community for the forces of light.
Others have complained about the dialogue of this book, and indeed it is not, surely, the best. The use of 'like,' for example, is too prolific and awkward. Then again, it always appears odd in print, even if teenagers do use 'like' too much. It just doesn't sound good. As for the dialogue being stilted due to lack of contractions, I actually did not mind this. I thought that overall, when the like's weren't creeping up, the dialogue added to the tone of the book.
Overall, this book was funny and engaging. It is not horror in any sense of the word. But there is a bit of suspense, and the ending was surprising to me when I first read it. Whether or not, as a 10th grader, it would have surprised me for the first time had I read it at this age, I don't know. But I can say that the passage of time has not dulled the pleasure I found in this book.

The book "Thirsty" was an excellent and spectacular book. It was greatly detailed and I could see everything that went on right in my own mind. As you read from the beginning to the middle of the book, you will become very confused. The author leaves out a lot of information of what's going on but he does tell you fifth-teen or more pages later. I greatly encourage you to read this book if you love vampires and fiction books. The one thing I didn't like about this book was the ending, as if you could call it an ending. He doesn't say what's going to happen to Chris at the end and just ends it like that. I would have given it five stars but because of the ending I gave it four stars.
Thirsty.......2006-10-20
Thirsty is about a boy named christopher who is slowly terning into a vampire. Christopher is enlisted by a celestial being to destroy the vampire god in exchange for his life back. Suddenly everything turned up sid down and everything christopher new about the agrment is wrong.
My faverit part of thirsty is when chet the celestial being betrays Chris. chet had made a deal with the vampire god wich was chet would kill him (the god is suicidal) in exchange for unbelievable power. This makes Chris uncontrollably angery his teeth swell and he gets ready to fight. Chet was to strong and knocked Chris to the groud and began kicking Chris in the fase.
Out of all the books I've read this was far the best. If you like mysteries or vampires this would be an exhalent book for you. this book is not much of a horror but it is excellent nun the less.
