Amazing variety, pay attention to details.......2007-10-15
I use this cookbook quite a bit. Lately, my schedule has been such that I'm almost never home in the typical "dinner prep" time frame, but still have a family to feed. I've been using my Crock, and this book, nearly 4 times a week.
I love the huge variety of detail. There are extremely long cooking recipes, and quick cooking recipes. Some days, I forget to throw something in in the morning, and I can still find plenty of recipes that I can throw together in the early afternoon and will still be ready by dinnertime. I've found that it's not only important to pay attention to the cooking times, but also, to pay attention to the recommended slow cooker size for each recipe. Things recommended for small cookers, cooked in larger cookers, may scorch. Things recommended for large cookers, squished into a smaller cooker, may not finish cooking or come up to temperature. Those details are important.
I've had a few recipes that I followed to the letter turn out strangely: the Hamburger Soup was way too thick, the Potato Soup way too thin. However, there's plenty of information in these pages about how to modify things, so I find I can usually adjust the consistency to my taste without adding a lot of extra cooking time, and if worst comes to worst, I know how to fix it next time.
I love this cookbook. I can cook when I feel like cooking, and we can still eat when we usually would. Brilliant.
Look before you buy.......2007-08-13
Since this is a cookbook, I should have looked through a copy before I purchased. Many of the recipes do not feature a full day of cooking in the crockpot. Therefore, they can't be used on a workday.
A Few great Recipes.......2007-08-08
I made a few recipes from this cook book that turned out great, and another few that weren't great at all. There was a lot of variety and different/new ideas, but it was not ideal for someone that is using the slow cooker to save time. A lot of the recipes involved a lot of ingredients, a lot of pre-cooking things before they went in the cooker, and also additional steps involved during the cooking (ex: after 2 hours turn the slow cooker on low,etc.)... and all of these things make it difficult for the cook who is away all day at work to even attempt. Also, many of the recipes called for short cooking times, like 3-4 hours, and that isn't ideal for a person who is working outside of the home for 9 hours prior to dinner.
Great Recipes - Great Cookbook!.......2007-08-05
I love this book! I recently purchased several cookbooks on slow cooking for use in a class I was teaching and this was my favorite on the subject for several reasons.
I like cookbooks that are organized so that I can find what I'm looking for fast. This book has good organized chapters and a terrific index which makes it possible for me to find whatever I'm looking for in just a few seconds.
I like the variety of recipes contained in this book, over 350 of them, for both the traditional dishes we have always cooked in our slow cookers like soups, stews, chilies, and pot roasts, and also for dishes that I hadn't thought of cooking in a slow cooker like desserts, jams, sauces, and casseroles. Actually, the thing that caught my eye and was one of the main reasons for buying this book was a chapter with instructions on cooking polenta, risotto, grits, rice, and other grains. Once I had prepared polenta in my slow cooker according to the directions in this book, I was hooked! I will never again have to stand over a hot stove stirring polenta for 40 minutes or more; nor will I ever have to stir my risotto or grits either!
I have many cookbooks in my library that are disappointing just because they read like a laundry list of recipes; there are no comments such as what to serve the dish with, or helpful hints, or little blurbs on how the recipe came about. The comments preceding a recipe help me as the reader get a glimpse of the author's reasons for putting the particular recipe in the book, or a description on the recipe such as "this is a hearty thick soup, perfect for a cool evening," or what to serve the dish with. Those comments make the book readable for those of us who enjoy reading cookbooks like novels, and help those who hate to cook decide if a recipe is suitable for their particular purpose. This book has comments preceding every recipe which are very helpful.
I think this book is an excellent choice for cooks of all skill levels. It contains all of the preliminary information a cook needs to begin slow cooking, even for someone who hasn't done it before. It discusses what slow cooking actually is, cooking times, temperatures, cooking at high altitudes, safety, adapting regular recipes to a slow cooker, and numerous other helpful subjects. This book also has conversion charts and it even has a page that lists the manufacturers of slow cookers and their web sites.
The one drawback that I can see for this book is that there are no pictures. Many of us are visual cooks and would like to see what a dish is supposed to look like. That isn't possible with this book, and is the only thing that would prevent me from purchasing several copies for wedding and shower gifts; I feel like gift books are better if they have pictures. I do plan however, to purchase three more copies to give to my daughters; the recipes in this book are so easy and good it may help them avoid stopping for fast food so often and improve the nutrition and health of my grandchildren
Is ketchup a recipe ingredient to you?.......2007-07-19
Your answer to the question will determine whether you like this book. I almost purchased this book, and then found it at the library to look at first. I found 4 recipes that I would consider making. One recipe (but not one of the 4) listed ketchup as a recipe ingredient, and others listed similar prepared processed sauces likely to have lots of sugar. Its probably fine for someone using the crock pot to save time and bother - but I like to know the ingredients, and ketchup doesn't cut it for me.

Customer Reviews:
Morgenstern revolutionized our business.......2007-07-17
Nearly a year ago, I bought Never Check E-mail in the Morning and implemented the practices prescribed throughout the book into our busy real estate office. We were drowning in in our crazy workloads, and struggling under the pressure of always being available to our clients. With e-mail and BBs you can never turn off, especially in real estate where it's completely client-based. Morgenstern's techniques really revolutionized the way we did business and helped us to better manage clients' needs and our own sanity. Her strategies are so practical and address all the problems of working in a 24/7 global market. I definitely recommend it!
A different approach to organizing for efficiency.......2007-06-28
I read this book with some trepidation since I've read lots of organizing and efficiency books over the years. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this one, since it offers nine "competencies" that all should master, and number one is "Embracing your work/life balance". With this as the foundation, she builds all other competencies on this one. So, when discussing competency three (Choose the Most Important Tasks) or competency five (Control the Nibblers), they aren't described as in typical efficiency/organization books. Typically, these types of tasks are encouraged to allow us to 'get more done', but in this book, taking control of these types of issues is encouraged to allow us to achieve the ultimate goal of work/life balance, instead of making us more efficient cogs in the corporate wheel.
A nice approach, and well done.
Gave it away the next day.......2007-05-08
This book begins with a questionaire to rate your level of organization at work. I filled it out, scored it, and promptly donated it to my library. I am obviously more organized within my work environment than at home. Only buy this book if you are a mess at work and unable to complete projects on time.
Scrapple at Best.......2007-03-09
This book gushes of leftovers. It is a very wordy read and doesn't get to any practical sort of information until the latter half, most of which is not only a repeat of earlier books, but also common sense stuff (this coming from someone who doesn't instinct-wise have a firm grasp on time management) that i have gleaned from many other sources, and in a more concise format. although her other books are great, i don't recommend this one.
Disappointed. No useful advice........2006-11-07
I bought this book for myself, expecting to find some useful advice to help me organize my day a little better and to stay focused on priorities. I have been in management for 12 years and I expected this book to offer some new insights into time management and other daily challenges. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed and struggled to find some useful advice within the first half and have since put it down.
The book seems to target a junior audience with a certain type of personality that is more focused on fitting in and accommodating others, rather than those focused on leadership and results.
The book itself feels really cheap. I is printed on that cheap news-print paper like those crossword puzzle books.

Beth Hensperger and Julie Kaufmann's The Ultimate Rice Cooker Cookbook offers 250 timesaving, convenient, and healthy recipes for making everything from simple white rice to full-course meals. This cookbook proves the rice cooker--which tends to have a bad rap as a never-opened or oft-neglected wedding gift--can be surprisingly versatile: not only does it prepare your rice, it can be used for every dinner course--salad, soup, vegetable, entree, and even dessert.
There is a complete buying and cooking guide for the many rice varieties, as well as other whole grains such as barley, millet, wheat berry, and quinoa. Many of the recipes provide convenient alternative cooking methods for traditional dishes like Italian risottos (the Italian Sausage Risotto is wonderful). Hensperger and Kaufmann show the rice cooker can also work miracles for hot breakfast cereals and porridges with such recipes as Hot Fruited Oatmeal. Delightful main courses include Steamed Ginger Salmon and Asparagus in Black Bean Sauce, and the meal is done almost exclusively within the rice cooker for simple preparation and cleanup. The dessert section has many ideas beyond the expected Old-Fashioned Rice Pudding--the Poached Pears with Grand Marnier Custard Sauce is one elegant and sophisticated example. Both authors of this cookbook are seasoned food writers and this combined effort gives tasty, easy, and healthy recipes that will motivate you to use what has been, until now, an underutilized appliance. --Teresa Simanton

The Ultimate Rice cooker Cookbook.......2007-10-10
This cook book has extensive histories of rice and other suggested grains; good for the historian, bit much for this cook! Recipes, once you get to them are fine. I'd ordered another rice-cooker book at the same time, one aimed at students -- which I found to be handier and easier to use.
Very good as a simple reading.......2007-08-12
Even if you don't buy this book as a companion to a fuzzy logic(high recommended), it's still a really good read about rice. The only thing that is a let down about the book is the detail information, the print type, and occasionally the layout. Also, the biggest thing that is frustrating me with the book is trying to figure out how to measure liquids. They give conflicting,IMO, advice on how to measure out liquids and go on to say that "...always specify the difference." I didn't find that to be clear or the case in some instances. (If anyone can clear that up for me, that would be great.)
Otherwise I still would recommend this book, and will probably buy 2 for family members for Christmas. It's worthy of being on a kitchen bookshelf.
Great cookbook........2007-05-09
This cookbook has a big variety of recipes to try in your rice cooker! If you have recently bought a rice cooker or had one for a while & want to learn more ways to use it, then get this book! I must add a lot of the recipes will require a rice cook with fuzzy logic (or the more advanced/expensive cookers.)
Rice CookerRecipes.......2007-04-10
I am new to rice cookers and I found this book to be very helpful... There are so many recipes that everyone will find lots to choose from... I refer to this book every time I use my cooker... Everyone who has a rice cooker should have this book.
Best rice cooker companion.......2007-04-06
I just bought a fuzzy logic rice cooker // this book is the best // the recipes are great

Book Description
Jordan Buchanan is thrilled that her brother and best friend are tying the knot. The wedding is a lavish affair–for the marriage of Dylan Buchanan and Kate MacKenna is no ordinary occasion. It represents the joining of two family dynasties. The ceremony and reception proceed without a hitch–until a crasher appears claiming to be a MacKenna guest. The disheveled and eccentric professor of medieval history warns that there’s “bad blood” between the couple’s clans, stemming from an ancient feud that originated in Scotland, and involving the Buchanan theft of a coveted MacKenna treasure.
Jordan has always led a cautious life and has used her intelligence and reason to become a successful businesswoman. So she is intrigued but skeptical of the professor’s claims that the feud has been kept alive by the grave injustices the Buchanans have perpetrated over the centuries. But when Noah Clayborne, a close family friend and a man who has never let a good time or a pretty girl pass him by, accuses Jordan of being trapped in her comfort zone, she determines to prove him wrong and sets out on a spontaneous adventure to the small, dusty town of Serenity, Texas, to judge the professor’s research for herself.
Maneuvering through a close-knit community in which everyone knows everyone else’s business, Jordan never anticipates the danger and intrigue that lie in her path, nor the threat that will shadow her back to Boston, where even in familiar surroundings, her life is at risk.
A powerful thug who rules by fear, a man who harbors a simmering secret, and an unexpected romance that pierces all defenses–beloved author Julie Garwood weaves these dazzling elements into a brilliant novel of romantic suspense. Shadow Dance is a searing tango of passion and peril.

didn't even finish it.........2007-10-09
i am saddened to say that i couldn't finish the book. like many other avid jg readers i too waited with abated breath for noah's story and was quite disappointed that i couldn't even get past the first couple of chapters. it was pretty slow.. soo slow i felt no connection to the characters what so ever..
i couldn't give it just one star as it is jg, who has written my absolute most favorite book in the world.. the ransom.. so i gave it two stars just because i have faith that jg will come back with something better
Shadow Dance - One Of Garwood's Best.......2007-09-29
Again Julie Garwood has enchanted me with one of her books about the Buchanan family. She has written another superb book that readers who appreciate romantic suspense will enjoy. Keep up your wonderful story telling.
Julie...You REALLY Missed this Boat!.......2007-09-10
I have been eagerly awaiting Noah's story since Mercy, when it became obvious that he would be a recurring character. He is clearly a contemporary version of Cole Clayborne with his quick one-liners, witty charm, and undeniable way with the ladies. I was incredibly disappointed--actually a little heartbroken--to finally get my hands on Noah's story and find that he played second fiddle to a very dull Jordan Buchanan. In her previous contemporary novels, JG has done a thorough job of developing Noah as a likeable, believable, and all-around HOT character (although he is pretty slutty). After crafting such a solid foundation upon which to build Noah's potentially incredible story, Julie wasted him and all that his romance could have been with Shadow Dance. Noah was completely closed to the reader for most of the book. He was bland, unexciting, ordinary, and forgettable. I'm sad that Julie's readers will never get to witness the exciting romance that Noah could have had--with all of the charm, wit, temper, thunder and fight that I expected when he finally fell (in love). He didn't have to fight for a thing in this book. Pity. I was really hoping for some red-hot spark. What I found was much less. Poor Noah.
Julie Garwood could do better.......2007-09-04
I have read and own everyone of Julie Garwood's books I love her she's one of my favorite authors her female heroins are always funny and have some odd characteristic that I love, but not this one she just seem like the runt of the family a family that always seem spirited and strong not week.I like the Buchanans triology and I always new Noah the Buchananas trusted best freind would get his own story but how sad for Noah it was a stale one......
Shadow Dance.......2007-08-09
I loved reading any book by Julie Garwood. But getting to be updated about decendants of Cole from For the Roses was so great. I thought that this was an awesome read and could not put it down. I hope Julie continues to write about this amazing family in her future books.

Comprehensive but pricey.......2001-08-15
The text covers the topic with ample examples and diagrams, plus cases short and long. The level of detail is appropriate for a graduate level course. The book is too ... The authors could eliminate the chapter on the office environment. They should condense the chapters on questionnaires and system presentation. Another solution: put the lengthy end-of-chapter case material on a CD; it is doubtful that all of it is used in any course. Perhaps the authors have too much clout to be edited.
Everything you ever wanted to know, and then some..........2000-11-08
The Kendalls have definitely created a comprehensive book on systems analysis. Virtually every aspect is covered here, and in plenty of detail. There are plenty of review questions and problems, hypothetical consulting situations, an ongoing case-study, and even an associated web-based case study.
While being well written, I feel that this text may be a bit overdone. Most sections are longer than neccessary, over-explaining fairly obvious concepts. So although the reader can never complain about being short-changed, I would be amazed if any reader needed ALL of the explanations to understand what was being discussed.
I have also noticed a few cases of dated information creeping through from previous editions. One example is a discussion on groupware that talks about features of Windows for Workgroups and Windows NT, and mentions the 'upcoming' Chicago release. Chicago was the working name for Windows 95, which was hardly 'upcoming' for a text published in 1999.
It feels as if the Kendalls have been adding new information to their revised editions, but not revising thoroughly enough to remove old or out of date references. If a really good job of revision was done here, I think this text could be reduced by at least a hundred pages or so without any real loss of useful content.
Since it emphasises practice more than theory, it may not appeal to all types, but for anyone who needs to know HOW to be a systems analyst, this is probably the book to read.
Doesn't Teach Much.......2000-04-29
I used this book in my systems analysis and design course. First off, it is over priced. I understand that college books are expensive, but this one was too overpriced.
Second, it is not helpful. It spends chapters talking about how to get information from users. Did I really need several chapters to tell me to interview them, send out surveys, and observe them? That is kind of obvious information.
Following this course, I took a software development course. The two classes are in series. Techniques learned from this book did not help me. When it came time to write documents (project proposals, documents for external design and internal design phases, etc.) this book was no help. There were no examples of what should be in them.
Not helpful unless you are clueless as to where to begin. Even then it's not a tremendous help.
Excellent book with more really illustrations and exercises.......1999-11-11
I am Tran Ngoc Thuan An, student of Department of Information Technology, Hochiminh City University of Technology.
I read the book "System Analysis and Design" through my lecturer's instruction. His name is Nguyen Manh Tho, teaching the subject : System Analysis and Design.
I found in this book the full teachnique, examples, illustrations, demotrations and exercises with real applications.
I hope after finish the course, I could work as the System analysist or System Designer.
To me, this book just have 1 drawback. That's some chapter is still too theorical (e.g chapter 12,14,20,21). It's will better if the author give more exercise on these chapters.

great touch and feel.......2007-09-12
This book has a great variety of colors and textures. The paint is actually sticky! I am very impressed by the varitey of materials and textures kids can explore in this book. We keep this book in the car to entertain my 1 1 /2 year old. He loves it. My 7 year old niece loved it too. She wants me to give it to her when my 1 1/2 year old is too old for it!! :)
My son LOVES this book!.......2007-08-13
This is one of a couple of books that my son adores. He loves all the textures in the book, especially the doll's hair on the last page. The colors are bright and vibrant. I actually just recommended this book to a friend of mine who is having her first baby.
My Nephew LOVES this Book!!.......2007-08-01
I bought this book for my nephew a month before his 1st birthday when his family moved into their first house. He LOVES this book. My sister says he's always pulling this book out of his pile of books & loves looking at it. His favorite touch & feel part is the sticky fingerpaint. I noticed in another review that they said the toothpaste didn't smell. I found it to be kind of like a scratch & sniff sticker; it didn't smell until I scratched it lightly with my fingernail & then I could smell the minty scent. I would recommend buying this book and plan to buy a couple more for other friends that have babies or small children at home.
Just good.......2007-07-03
Pages are not too hard... not many things to touch...
Bright colours and nice drawings.
It's OK.
My 10-month-old loves this book..........2007-07-01
My 10-month-book loves all books that are touch-and-feel, as most babies this age who are exploring their world with their hands. Bold, colorful images....great textures on each page. The only thing I am not crazy about is the rhymes...some seem a little like the author is "stretching it." Not a reading book, really, anyway, seeing as my daughter prefers to thumb through it herself and marvel at all there is to see and feel on each new page.

Customer Reviews:
Not that bad.......2006-12-05
This book is rather nice in its presentation of rather mundane information. The details of specific events can be scarce, but for a small history book.
A College Students Opinion .......2006-07-16
This book was used in my American History 1865 to the Present class. Basically we followed the textbook and started post-civil war. Anyway, I found this book to differ from most High School text books. High school textbooks are usually overflowing with detail, dates, names, etc. I remember reading them and wondering "What in the world is my teacher thinking? I'm never going to remember all of this!." However, I find after reading this book that I prefer those 600 paged hardcover books rather than this. The American People Volume II should never be used as the prime textbook in a history class. It's descriptions of events are very scarce and I have often found myself seeking other sources to find out what I am reading about. For example, there were about 3 pages describing the Native American conflicts in the late 1800's (Which was also turned into a SIX EPISODE mini series called Into the West. This shows how little is told about these conflicts in the book.) and there was a mentioning of a Dawe's Act. However, the text went to say what caused this act and what resulted from it (2 sentences each), but it did not say what it actually was. This has been the case for many other Acts, Bills, and Laws that are mentioned. This is also not a note-taking book. The descriptions of events are so slim and undetailed that there is nothing to note about them, and I find myself moving on in the reading and not remembering much. Therefore, I would have to conclude that I prefer those large high school history textbooks in comparison to this brief history. At least with the detailed books you can get more of a rounded picture in your head of what is being described, rather than just basic facts such as "Wheat was farmed in the Great Plains." One last comment: the text is also a bit juvenile. Each chapter begins with a story of a family or individual and it is as though you are reading Little House on the Prairie. So before you buy this, make sure that it is absolutly required.

Back for More.......2000-10-19
I read most of this book as an undergraduate at Middlebury College and was thoroughly impressed to the point that I did not sell it at graduation like most of my textbooks. I took it with me after college and lent it out to so many people, from boarding school directors, to my grandmother, to high school students, that it finally fell from my grasp. I am on Amazon right now to order another copy. If you are looking for a book that details more than just the supporting and opposing views on issues from Physician Assisted Suicide to Public Speech codes, this is a buy for you. Unlike other ethics books that provide only two sides on each issue, MacDonald's collection includes many opinions that fall into a grey area, from both expected and unexpected sources. I found this book to be excellenct for academic use but also would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to delve a bit deeper into the issues that constanly arise in the media.

In "We, the Jury," the jurors in the Scott Peterson case tell, for the first time, what life was like at the center of this sensational murder trial.

Not what I thought .......2007-09-26
I'm reluctant to write this review, since I just read a bunch of negative reviews which were then bashed in the comments, so I'm going to start with this: I do believe Scott Peterson is GUILTY. I believe the jury got the verdict right. I have read numerous other books about Laci and Scott ... including on which was published BEFORE her body was found.
But I did not like this book. Perhaps it's because I really did think they were going to go more indepth in their deliberations, perhaps because they really didn't mention much of the evidence except in passing. I know I was bored to death when they were describing clothing and looks. Part of me has to wonder after reading this if they didn't vote guilty because Geragos didn't come through on his promise to prove Scott "stone cold innocent". Now I'm sure this isn't the case, but by reading the book I sensed that they were waiting for this proof. I would have liked more information on how they deliberated the evidence.
It is not a horrible book for what it is. But it is NOT a book about deliberating the Peterson case. It's a book about 7 out of 12 people and how the trial affected them and their lives (mostly in negative ways).
Now I hope no one feels the need to bash my review just because I didn't enjoy this book. For someone interested in the case I would recommend Catherine Crier's book. For someone interested in Laci's life and the emotions, I recommend For Laci.
It's just my opinion!
Experiencing the Peterson trial through those who lived it.......2007-09-09
Since I'm still reading the book, I can't give a full and accurate review. The four stars reflects my opinon of the book up to this point. So far so good! If you followed this trial, I would recommed this book to read.
We The Jury.......2007-07-18
It was an interesting book and filled in some of the blank spaces in my view of the trial.
brilliant.......2007-06-10
this was an excellent book,i have read about 5 from this tradegy already, it is very interesting to get a different angle on the story.
Interesting but not news.......2007-06-02
I found this book an interesting read. However, most of the information in the book was information we already knew due to the previous books published on the case and the intense media coverage. There were a few surprises but for the most part the book covers what anyone following the case would have already known.

5 stars!! The only book where is important information is compiled in one place - A Keeper! .......2007-07-14
Bryan Rosner has done it again! As with the rife book, he has brought to the Lyme community useful techniques, many of which, are not well known to main stream America. This information may mean the difference between feeling better, leading a productive life or leading a life of Lyme misery full of mind-numbing fatigue and pain.
Some of this information has taken years of trial & error by Lyme folks to find out what is helpful. This book allows you to leapfrog all that and start using right away what has proved significant.
If you are looking for a reference with every statement footnoted and cross-referenced.... a reference with every technique having a double blind study, then this book is not for you. Much of that information you are looking for, particularly the double blind technique trials does not exist. But if you are looking for cutting edge, practical information for Lyme, then buy this book, I think you'll find it worth your time.
Do these techniques work? All I can say is that on antibiotics alone, I was feeing better, but still struggled with work. Since minimizing antibiotic use over 5 years ago, and focusing on many of the techniques mentioned in this book; I am feeling much better. 2 years ago I climbed Mt. Rainier in Washington and last Christmas, I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.
I recommend this book. Thanks Bryan Rosner for putting this information in print, so we don't have to hunt it down anymore!!
A Practical and Very Useful Guide.......2007-07-13
The Top Ten Lyme Disease Treatments
Chronic Lyme patients are unique. Usually it is not just the Lyme spirochete they are left to deal with but those who are chronically ill often harbor several, if not many pathogens. This creates a situation where symptoms can affect every part of the body and there is no way to be sure which pathogen is causing what symptom. With the many allopathic and natural treatments we are bombarded with, especially for Lyme patients with cognitive problems, it is difficult to effectively decide where to begin. What treatments are most effective? How should they be combined? What are our most affordable options, where we as patients have more control?
Many times I have just thrown up my hands in defeat and decided not to deal with any of these questions. Because antibiotics alone seemed to be working for me, the rest was just too complicated to sort out. However, at some point we may not have access to antibiotics for the use with chronic Lyme. Another consideration is that antibiotics don't always remain effective forever, and for some people they just don't seem to work. These drugs can also build up in your system and cause toxic side effects.
This is where Bryan Rosner's book "The Ten Top Lyme Disease Treatments" comes into play. The author has created a practical resource that is organized and easy to understand and implement. Being a Lyme patient himself, he has done much research and experimentation. He offers information gleaned from his experience and the experience of others.
Antibiotics alone have not been the complete answer for curing or effectively controlling Lyme disease. Most people will come to the same conclusion concerning natural treatments. The Lyme disease germ (borrelia burgdorferi) is a very smart bug, is able to evade the immune system, antibiotics and current available testing.
Bryan Rosner's solution is to offer us valuable information concerning both allopathic and natural medicine and how to use them together to form a comprehensive treatment plan. He emphasizes 5 core treatment protocols and other supportive treatments. He suggests that antibiotics be rotated and used for fairly short periods of time. The author warns us that treating Lyme disease and the co-infections is more of a marathon event as opposed to a sprint. If we approach the treatment of Lyme with this in mind, it will help us to avoid discouragement.
On page 293 of Rosner's book he says, " Because Lyme disease is caused by a bacterial infection, the core of a Lyme disease treatment protocol is comprised of antibacterial therapies. The most effective antibacterial therapies are pharmaceutical and non pharmaceutical antibiotics, the Marshall Protocol, and Rife Machine therapy. At all times during the recovery process, at least one of these three therapies should be in use."
Bryan believes that Rife machine therapy should be the foundation of an antibacterial treatment and tells us why. He discusses the Rife Machine in this book but for those who want a more comprehensive understanding of this type of electromedicine, one should read his first book "Lyme Disease and Rife Machines."
The book stresses that we need to strengthen the immune system through diet, eliminating exposures to toxic and allergic substances, detoxification, electromedicine and herbs. He also points out that there is no magic remedy and that patients must become proactive and take the time to adjust their priorities.
Rosner does an excellent job making sure the patient understands what can and cannot be expected from the various holistic and allopathic treatments. Many of us are aware of the raging Lyme wars (disagreement on the testing and treatment of Lyme disease) that are keeping patients from getting proper treatment. Here is what Rosner has to say about that. "The debate has recently reached a boiling point, involving the passions, fears, biases, personal experiences --- and let us not forget, financial interests --- of those involved. Amidst the inferno, it has been largely forgotten that the goal of health care is not to establish exclusive, single-minded medical truths, but instead, to utilize all available medical treatments that cure disease --- regardless of which paradigm they belong to."
There is so much practical information and so many helpful resources listed in this book that I could go on and on but I am sure you would rather read the book. I highly recommend "The Top Ten Lyme Disease Treatments " to anyone who wants to better understand the realities of treating Lyme disease and what it takes to get well.
Best Investment I ever made.......2007-07-07
This is an excellent book and I would recommend it to anyone who has Lyme. I do not know Bryan Rosner personally but was part of a national teleconference and Bryan was the speaker. He has suffered immensely with this disease, and really wants to help fellow sufferers, in my opinion. This book synopsizes all the latest Lyme therapies. The book is easy to understand and Bryan has done an excellent job in sharing all that he has learned in his journey with Lyme. Well done, Bryan!
Exceptional Book.......2007-06-12
I consider this book a God-send. It is concise, well-organized, and thorough; no fluff, but well-stocked with the details you need to wage war with Lyme intelligently. It takes the reader all the way from understanding the big picture down to the brass tacks of where to find particular supplements and what websites to visit for more information. It is written by and for someone in the trenches and leaves one feeling competent to fight the fight. Best wishes to anyone needing this book. I think that you will be glad you purchased this one.
Thanks to Mr. Rosner.......2007-05-19
Dear Mr. Rosner,
Thank you so much for the wonderful book you recently published
on Lyme Disease entitled "The Top 10 Lyme Disease Treatments". I was
wavering on the edge of insanity, not only from the effects of the Lyme
Disease I have, but because of the multitude of confusing choices and
conflicting information I have been getting. Obviously, your brain is
working well (again?) as your straightforward and succint style of
writing shows, AND that is some of the main proof that you know what
you are talking about, because you are ABLE to write this book!!! I
haven't finished it yet, but even the few chapters I have read are very
encouraging and lend evidence to my suspicions about long term
antibiotic treatment.
Thanks for helping me to go from hopeless to hopeful in 0 to 60.
A huge hug,
Hilary Macatangay
